BIOGRAPHY
trigger warnings: child cruelty/abuse, OCD mention
CHILDHOOD:
Ozan was born in Briar Ridge as the eldest son of the Ulusoy family, inheriting the weight of expectations from the moment he entered the world. As a young boy, he was closest to his mother, finding solace in her warmth and tender attention. That comfort was shattered when tragedy struck their household with the death of Mrs Yilmaz, a close family friend when Ozan was just ten. The loss transformed his mother into someone colder, more distant, and wicked, fracturing the bond they once shared. That was the beginning of a very lonely period for Ozan.
By the time Ozan turned 14, his summers were spent working in the family business under his father's strict and humiliating gaze. Tasks like scrubbing toilets became tools for his fatherâs cruel criticisms, leaving Ozan bitter and angry. This anger found an outlet in tennis, where he channeled his frustrations to become a high school star. During this time, Ozan began to show signs of obsessive-compulsive tendencies, developing unhealthy habits in an attempt to regain some semblance of control over his life. This would become something he would battle with all of his life. His time in high school was difficult, as he struggled socially. The anger and loneliness led him to find comfort in the gym, tennis court, or the loyal companionship of the family dog, Luna.
Ozanâs talent on the court earned him a scholarship offer to play tennis at UCLA. However, his father crushed that dream, insisting he attend the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia. It was closer to home and the right path for a ârealâ businessman. Though Ozan resented the choice, his years at Darden gave him his first taste of freedom. He went to his first parties, experienced his first relationship, and felt like a normal young man for the first time.
NEW YORK:
At 23, freshly graduated and eager to prove himself, Ozan was placed in the main office of the family business in New York. His main responsibility was liaising with the head office back in Briar Ridge.
Fate had a habit of bringing Leyla Yilmaz into Ozan's life, especially when he seemed to need someone most. The young man exploring New York would have hated to admit that, but finding her there had brought familiarity he didn't know he would need. He had visited many big cities with his family, but this was his first time alone, and he hated being alone.
Would she have been his first choice? That was hard for young Ozan to answer. Leyla Yilmaz, a young Turkish woman from his hometown, who had once been a thorn in his side. The two had grown up together, and despite the forced family events or the high school squabbles where both stomped off hurt and flushed in the face, the two also shared some quiet moments that Ozan had never forgotten, as they were some of the few times in his life where he had felt seen. That someone cared about Ozan and not the Ulusoy.
While in New York together, this dynamic persisted, but underneath their verbal sparring, an undeniable attraction grew. What began as tension evolved into an unexpected romance.
Over time, Leyla became Ozanâs closest confidant. He supported her through the highs of her first bookâs success and the heartbreaking lows of her brotherâs death. The grief deepened their bond, and Ozan fell deeply in love. With Leyla, the world seemed brighter and more vibrant. He noticed colors like never before. Her presence brought out the best in him and built a confidence that improved his work, where he succeeded and inspired all those who worked with him.
For the first time, Ozan began to stand up to his father, starting with small acts of defiance. At first, his father was impressed by the man his son was turning out to be. However, the tipping point came when Ozan intervened to prevent his younger sister, Esra, from marrying a man he believed was unworthy. Ozan had heard whispers in the office about this man, and he worried for Esra. His fatherâs wrath was swift and unforgiving. Ozan was banished from the family home, fired from his position, and cut off from all ties to the Ulusoy name. Only his trust fund remainedâa lifeline but a meager comfort in the face of such betrayal.
TURKEY:
The fallout left Ozan adrift, and in his turmoil, he blamed Leyla. She was the woman who had made him confident and encouraged him to speak freely. Those thoughts ruminated, and he spiraled back to the lonely teenage boy who was bitter and angry. Ozan knew she deserved better than the broken man he had become, so he ended their relationship. He wasn't ready to step up for her, so he had to leave â a decision he thought about every day since.
Seeking refuge, Ozan fled to Turkey to the embrace of his Anneanne (Grandma). She had always been a source of warmth during childhood summer visits, and now, without hesitation, she welcomed him back. On her farm, Ozan found solace in a simpler life, working the land and rediscovering himself. He found a new way of living and an identity outside of his father's shadow, and that brought him peace. There was always a longing for Leyla, and he tried everything to ease that ache; he even wrote in his journal to her every day, but nothing made it go away. The man who loved her was still a part of him, someone he wanted to be.
PRESENT:
One quiet night, a call from his younger sister, Esra, shattered the peace Ozan had found on the farm. Her voice, laced with masked laughter and muffled sobs, sent a chill through him. She needed his help, and though she didnât say the words outright, Ozan could hear the desperation. Without hesitation, he packed his belongings and made plans to return to Briar Ridge. Fear tugged at his resolveâhe knew what returning home could meanâbut he couldnât abandon Esra again.
Before he left, his Anneanne, ever intuitive, handed him her wedding ring. âFor someone special,â she said, her eyes full of knowing warmth. Ozan threaded the ring onto a chain and wore it around his neck. He didnât yet know what the ringâs future held, but carrying a piece of his Anneanne gave him the strength he needed.
Back in Briar Ridge, Ozan has moved into a comfortable home overlooking the beach. Slowly but steadily, heâs finding his way back into the fabric of his hometown. Though the path ahead remains uncertain, Ozan is ready to face itâthis time, with purpose and, perhaps, with love still waiting to be rediscovered.

TASK 002 â Happy Holidays, everybody!
Does your character celebrate Christmas?
Yes, very much so. Callum is big into Christmas and always has been since he was young.
If yes, how do they celebrate? Are they super pro Christmas, or a grinch?
Super pro Christmas. They decorate the small apartment in late November, and then, in December, there is a Christmas-themed movie every night with his daughter (Avie). Christmas Eve is a family night. He will spend the day cooking, and they will put on matching pyjamas, watch more movies and shows, then eat lots of Christmas treats. Avie gets to pick and open one present, and then they put out milk and cookies for Santa and Reindeer treats before they go to bed. Avie likes to sleep with her Dad on Christmas Eve, and he will read her different books until she falls asleep. When she's sound asleep, he will go out and fix all the presents for her, eat the cookies and drink the milk, then climb back into bed. A very tired Callum is woken up VERY EARLY, like 5am, and he shuffles out to watch Avie excitedly open presents. He would usually FaceTime his mom around this time, and they all share in the moment.
What do they eat on Christmas?
Christmas dinner is turkey, stuffing, ham, roast potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and sprouts with lots of gravy. Callum likes cranberry sauce, too. They like cake and custard for their Christmas dessert. Outside of that? Lots of chocolate and snacks. Callum has some wine, and Avie has some grape juice or other fancy juices that are her kid's wine.
What their favourite traditions?
Before they settle down for their Christmas Eve night, they carol sing door to door in the apartment complex to raise money for a local shelter, then donate it and help out for an hour at the shelter. That's Callum's favourite tradition, as he loves to share those moments with Avie and friends but also help others. Avie's favourite tradition is chocolate for breakfast (only on Christmas...and maybe Easter), and calling her Granny Flynn back in Ireland as she opens her presents.
What do they love most about Christmas?
Time off with Avie, making memories, and seeing her happy little face.
Whatâs the best Christmas present theyâve ever gotten?
For Callum, it was his first guitar when he was 9.
What was their favourite Christmas?
The second Christmas with Avie. The first Christmas had been hard as he came to terms with Hayley leaving them; he was sad and heartbroken. However, the following year, he vowed to make those traditions and moments with his daughter, and he's never been happier since.
Have their Christmas traditions changed since they were a child?
There is much more American influence and culture in his Christmasses with a young daughter growing up in the US. Callum keeps some Irish traditions going with movies, food, and treats, but overall elements have changed. The holiday is much smaller as he doesn't have all of his family, but Callum likes to invite friends around on Christmas day, as he loves a big, happy, laughing home on Christmas.
Whatâs the Christmas wish this year?
That Avie's troubles ease up. She's been having a tough year since the storm and feels her mother's absence more than ever. Callum hopes that sadness lifts from her and that with the new puppy (he bought her for her birthday) and time off with the family she does have, she will feel better. He wouldn't mind a Christmas kiss from a particular woman friend, but he's not expecting anything. They're just friends having some fun...
Whatâs their Christmas like? Do they dress fancy or in pyjamas? Presents before or after breakfast, presents on Christmas Eve? Whatâs their typical Christmas day?
Christmas Eve is pyjamas, and Christmas Day is cheesy jumpers. Presents early on Christmas morning before breakfast. After that, Avie naps on the sofa, watching cartoons, as Callum tidies up and preps dinner. He will invite friends over and then help Avie get ready. They will both be in cheesy Christmas jumpers, and when friends turn up, he will dish out dinner. There will be crackers, and they will all wear silly paper hats. After dinner, there's dessert, and theeeeen its party games/board games with Christmas music.
Anything else?
Here's some gifs from NP that give the vibe:

TASK 002 - Happy Holidays!!
Does you character celebrate Christmas? Yes, she does.
If yes, how do they celebrate? Are they super pro Christmas, or a grinch? Nia struggles because Christmas used to be her favorite holiday. She loved the snow, she loved going sledding, she loved her family's traditions. As her relationship with her family, and especially her brothers, changed it's been harder to endure the holidays with that same excitement. There are certain things about the holidays that make her miss home. Still, certain things she tries to do. She's taken to volunteering for the holidays as a way to feel less lonely during the season.
What do they eat on Christmas? She experiments with cooking somewhat elaborate things and lives off the leftovers for a week. Ham or smothered pork chops were on the table growing up, when they had a family meal for the holiday, but that dwindled into parties with appetizers and mocktails.
What their favourite traditions? Nia's hands down favorite holiday tradition is the Christmas Eve Pajama Party. There are a handful of framed pictures in Nia's home even now that are from these, with her and her two brothers trying to out do each other in the most ridiculous ugly Holly Jolly Christmas pajamas they could possibly find. It's her family's version of an ugly Christmas Sweater party and boy oh boy did they go all out. There's pictures evidence of Nia with a matching obnoxious reindeer antler headband and slipper socks.
What do they love most about Christmas? Really, she just loved spending the time with her brothers. She also loved the East Coast winter season in New York, with snow blanketing everything. Now, she finds some degree of solace in the little joys of getting her friends gifts.
Whatâs the best Christmas present theyâve ever gotten? When her youngest brother was still in school and young enough for the holiday program where the school helped you pick out presents for family members and sent kids home with them, Nia got a really cheesy 'best sister' mug. She kept it for years and years until the day it tragically finally cracked.
What was their favourite Christmas? Honestly, I'm not sure she has one. I think she has a patchwork of favorite Christmas memories, but there isn't just one Christmas that felt perfect or that she regards as a favorite.
Have their Christmas traditions changed since they were a child? Yes, a few times. From the traditional Christmas morning with her brothers and parents having breakfast with presents to the more fancy, charity events as they got older. Then, again, as she moved away from her family and started fresh in Briar Ridge. She's still really trying to get her footing on what her holiday looks like now.
Whatâs the Christmas wish this year? Snow. Fake snow? She has no idea, and is fully aware it is utterly unrealistic in Briar Ridge but she has definitely considered a little mini road trip home for the holiday to see everything blanketed in white. She'd also give a limb to see her brothers but their relationship is still on shaky ground.
Whatâs their Christmas like? Do they dress fancy or in pyjamas? Presents before or after breakfast, presents on Christmas Eve? Whatâs their typical Christmas day? Originally: pajamas and presents before breakfast. As is the natural order. Her youngest brother was one thousand percent that kid who wakes everyone else up far too early on Christmas morning out of excitement. Then, everything was chill because the big party and events were usually always all on Christmas Eve not the day of. Nowadays she's most likely in a Christmas themed apron and volunteering. Keeping her mind off of her family.
Anything else? n/a.

TASK 002 â Happy Holidays, everybody!
Does you character celebrate Christmas? Yes!
If no, do they do anything instead? N/a.
If yes, how do they celebrate? Are they super pro Christmas, or a grinch? Emil is normally super pro-Christmas. He's still "Santa" in his house, and he puts gifts for Isabel under the tree from him even though this was not really a part of his own childhood.
What do they eat on Christmas? Mostly the "Christmas" spirit food-wise for Emil is focused on sweets. PolvorĂłn, Mantecado. Cakes, cookies. Baked fish is traditionally common for the holiday meal where his family is from, and of course, Briar Ridge has great local options but Emil has a pretty severe seafood allergy and he and his family have always been very cautious about it. So, instead, they tend to have pork â a Christmas ham.
What are their favourite traditions? Decorating and going around town to look at the lights, in the park and neighborhoods around Briar Ridge. His Beach Front home is cheerfully decked out every year. Giant candy canes stuck in the sand and all. He even changes up the light scheme now and then, rotating out colors.
What do they love most about Christmas? Obviously, Emil really truly treasures the family aspect of the holiday. He still spends a holiday evening in his parents' home for dinner. Making the holiday special for his daughter and making sure she feels loved and appreciated is the most important thing.
Whatâs the best Christmas present theyâve ever gotten? His first proper, fancy baseball glove when he was a teenager.
What was their favourite Christmas? Isabel's first Christmas, back when he had the daft illusion that he and his ex-wife Amaia had the same Picture Perfect family he felt like he'd grown up with and aspired for. It's a fond memory despite the bitterness the years have brought since.
Have their Christmas traditions changed since they were a child? A lot! Emil and Isa are very, very heavily involved with their friends' lives and their families. He takes on their traditions too, and his friends have made their own little Briar Ridge family and created their own traditions. He tries to still honor his family's traditions but Emil enjoys being able to create new ones with his daughter and friends. Emil grew up with a much more traditional and religious holiday. As well as one that was still influenced by his family's Spanish roots.
Whatâs the Christmas wish this year? Fingers crossed his ex-wife doesn't choose to be petty this holiday season, as he's missed out on a good chunk of visitation time since he served her with court papers.
Whatâs their Christmas like? Do they dress fancy or in pyjamas? Presents before or after breakfast, presents on Christmas Eve? Whatâs their typical Christmas day? A lot of the traditions with his family take place on Christmas Eve. They used to attend Midnight Mass, so their family dinner was that night before. Emil still attends dinner with his parents, and then Christmas morning and day are for his personal traditions with Isabel and his friends. Emil makes his favorite sweet crepes for breakfast, and they settle in their Pajamas to watch a handful of holiday classic films and open gifts etc. Sorry to his Beach Front neighbors if you hear him singing Frosty the Snowman at seven in the morning.
Anything else? Yes, technically his daughter and Emil himself have two winter holiday celebrations. The second is called Epiphany and is celebrated on 6th January. It celebrates when the Three Wise Men brought gifts to baby Jesus, and is a gift-giving holiday.

â BIOGRAPHY!
tw: minor death/illness
Life in Monroe, LA was rough, to say the least. While Amber stayed home to raise Olivia, Jabari was a temporary construction worker, finding work assignments when he could as he tried his best to take care of his girls. It wasnât always easy, but the man worked himself to the bone to try and get his family out of the trenches of Louisiana. It wasnât until Olivia was 9 years old that a family member out in South Carolina encouraged them to move out that way, and with a little help, Jabari moved his family to Briar Ridge, where he found more stable work. Amber even decided to put her Education degree to use and started teaching now that Olivia was a bit older, and had obviously outgrown her helicopter parent.
While she had been shy and much better behaved in the early years, by the time the family arrived in Briar Ridge, Olivia was starting to come out of her shell. Sheâd started to find her voice, but was also deep diving into her hobbies: photography, dancing, cooking (more so baking but same thing), and slashers - both the fictional and non-fictional kind. How a happy child turns into a morbid teen, her parents didnât know, but they just let her run with it anyways. When she wasnât in dance classes, she was either pestering SC detectives for information on cold cases, or building her photography portfolio by going to scenes of old crimes and taking really good, but slightly chilling, photos. Her fascination led to her deciding on a major pretty early, and although she spent high school partying her ass off and getting into all sorts of trouble, she was still managing to pass enough to get into college.Â
Olivia traded Briar Ridge for Columbia when she chose to go to the University of South Carolina, majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Art Studio. During her sophomore year, her father suffered a fatal heart attack, and while her mother completely fell apart over the grief, she had to be the strong one. It was then that she had to focus and start making money for herself to help ease some of the burden off of her mom, so she had to shift gears and start charging for fluff photography gigs: birthdays, engagements, maternity, graduation, sports, headshots â it wasnât ideal per se, but it was helping her mom pay the bills and keep her afloat so she learned to adjust.Â
After graduating, she stayed at USC for two more years, this time as a Clery Act Compliance Coordinator for the college, gaining a different perspective of law enforcement, so to speak. But it was during that time period that she realized how insignificant her degree seemed, since she didnât want to be a regular street cop and she couldnât bypass it to just be a cold case detective, so Olivia decided to come back home to Briar Ridge.Â
Olivia went back to do photography as a placeholder while she tried to decide what she wanted to do with her life, aside from just enjoying it and having a good time in any way that she could, and she eventually decided to try her hand at real estate. Maybe she shouldnât have binged Santa Clarita Diet three times, but selling houses seemed easy enough, so why not? Ballenger Realty had an open office assistant position so Olivia took it, and sheâs been learning from the agents as she studies to get her real estate license; however, she thinks she'll have a better chance at making it as an agent in Briar Ridge if she makes bigger, more powerful connections in town.

tw: gun violence, tw: death.
his father moved them to join his uncle in America, he'd been going through a tough divorce and had very little support system.
with his father's industry being travel, it seemed like a much smoother transition than it was for his son. Who was nine at the time.
when he was just barely sixteen, Civan's father passed away. He'd been traveling for work and was staying in Chicago for two weeks when he was a victim of a robbery and assault.
Civan became the 'man of the house' and took that role very seriously.
His uncle repaid the support shown to him by helping his brother's widow and son in any way he could. This support system and his mother's work were the only reason they stayed in the country.
just before graduating, his uncle sat him down to have a talk. He told Civan not to handicap his future trying to stay in BR and keep his mother company.
with his uncle's heavy-handed encouragement, he did end up taking his advice and when he got accepted into the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) he went.
All of his education took place in California, but due to his mother's eventual decline in health Civan did end up moving back home during his residency.
Five years ago, Marco's cousin targeted his mother's home in the Briar Hills neighborhood and they are responsible for sending Marco to jail. MISC.
Civan is rough around the edges at first, he can be a grump. Will 100% claim he is allergic to people.
Though he doesn't attend prayer or consider himself religious there are a few tenets of his family's religion he still upholds.
Civan does not drink alcohol and thus is almost always willing to be someone's designated driver.
He maintains a halal diet. Mostly in the name of moral practice. For this reason, he doesn't eat out often or have many options, so he cooks a lot.
Is not a dog person. They make him uneasy & he does not want dog slobber on him ever thank you.
Grew up fairly wealthy and still very much is. He has an unnecessarily large home in the Briar Ridge Hills neighborhood. It's very modernly decorated.

QUICK FACTS (quick is subjective tho bc idk how to tldr anything very well)
Trigger Warnings: parental death, car accident, infidelity
Born & Raised in Briar Ridge
Dad died when she was 2 years old in a car accident
Her mom met the man whoâd be her step-father a few years later in a single parents/grief support group and they married shortly after
Had a great childhood, is very close with her step sisters and tbh doesnât consider them âstepâ anything - theyâre just her sisters
Was always really into music, her dad used to play for her when she was in her momâs belly
Took up guitar to feel closer to her dad when she was in elementary school because he used to play, but the instrument was too big so she opted for the fiddle
Was a bit of a progeny when it came to the fiddle and her ability to play it so well and her love for it only furthered her relationship with music
Once she hit 8th grade she decided to put her focus back into learning the guitar- she took private lessons with one of her dadâs friends until high school, when she threw herself into it completely and took Guitar as an elective
It was here she met Rhett Dawson, a boy a few years older who would take her seemingly mundane, black and white world and throw it into technicolor
Initially, their relationship was strictly platonic. He was nothing more than an older student teaching her guitar lessons, but she felt an instant connection with him sheâd never experienced before or since, and their hour long lessons quickly morphed into curfew breaking sessions and a blossoming young romance she hadnât been expecting
Mari got through high school alright, graduating with a respectfully average GPA but school was never her true focus - that was always music
So it was no surprise that instead of heading off to college, she went on the road with Rhett, ready to take the music world by storm as the duo Palmetto Drive
And for years they did just that- traveled together while making and sharing their music with the world. She was living out her dreams and she couldnât have been happier
But as the old adage goes, all good things must come to an end and this one came to a screeching halt as it hit a brick wall
Palmetto Drive was just getting their big break when her romantic and professional relationship with Rhett ended, essentially erasing the future the two had been planning together all these years
Sheâd caught him cheating with their opening act, an up and coming country artist, and it all snowballed from there. In the ensuing fight Rhett admitted that this wasnât the first time heâd cheated on her, Mariâs entire world seemingly collapsing around her as he dismantled everything she thought she knew with each admission
It was after this fight and revelation that she left. She left the tour, her dreams, the love of her life- all lost in less than 24 hours as she took an overnight bus back home to Briar Ridge
After she left the tour she came home, spending months curled up in her childhood home, heartbroken
On top of it all, Rhett continued to play the songs sheâd written, songs theyâd written together, and capitalize on their growing success- except now as a solo artist and with his new girlfriend on his arm
It was as if in the blink of an eye her entire world had crumbled around her and she was left staring at the ruins of her dreams and her heart, with no idea on how to begin to rebuild any of it
But as time went on things got easier, she used her connections and her knack for tossing a party together to get an event coordinator job at a family friendâs brewery, where she built their customer base and filled their event calendar for four years
In that time she was able to reconnect with her roots, make friends who knew her without Rhett and the ghost of who she used to be, and move forward into a new era of her life that didnât revolve around the boy who broke her heart
On a whim (and after quite a few glasses of wine), Mari applied for a songwriting camp in Nashville. She completely forgot about it until a month later when she got her acceptance, and suddenly she was leaving Briar Ridge once again with a dream
The move to Nashville was terrifying and was supposed to only be for the duration of the camp - two months and then sheâd be back home. But as soon as she got there Mari knew she was where she was supposed to be at the time
She found somewhere she instantly felt like she belonged with a group of people who lifted her up and inspired her to find her voice and passion again
So instead of the two months sheâd planned on staying, Mari stayed in Nashville for a year. Writing and recording music, reconnecting with an industry that she thought sheâd never find a place in again, and once she got to a place where she could be doing her work anywhere she chose to come home again, to be with the people who know her heart and who deserve to see the best of her once again
POSSIBLE/WANTED CONNECTIONS
MISC â childhood friends, writing partners, old crushes, fwb, neighbors, open mic night regulars from when she ran it, old firefly brewery coworkers, friends like family, friends from her year in nashville, people she met while touring with palmetto drive, new friends- anything and everything, really!
EX â about a year or so after she got home from the tour that broke her heart, mari decided she was ready to date again (spoiler alert: she wasn't). she and this character started a very casual relationship that turned into something way more serious than she was ready for at the time. they were together for a year when mari, regrettably, cheated on this character with rhett when he came into town (hurt people hurt people, y'know?). their breakup was rough and mari takes full responsibility for it. it was actually this relationship that had her swearing off actual commitment. she's afraid she'll hurt someone again and she doesn't want to do that.
PLATONIC SOULMATE â this is mari's best friend ever since childhood. they have no secrets, no boundaries. they are the friends everyone assumes are sleeping together (maybe they are mind your business), strangers assume they're married. it's truly just all love. they fight but they always make up. her anchor in the storm that can be her life. maybe at one point they tried something romantic but really, they're just meant to be in each other's lives. just besties. ride or die. idk let's talk about it!
RHETT'S FAMILY â her big ex, the boogey man in her romantic life, the first person she ever loved and the one who seemingly ripped her heart out of her chest, is also from briar ridge. his family goes way back so i think having someone (or someone's!) who're related to him that mari, in her healing and revamp era, is going to have to learn how to be around. maybe the two used to be close! maybe this character knew about the cheating and mari feels betrayed. maybe they feel slighted bc mari came back to town and avoided them. so many options!

New to Briar Ridge, Carter stands out with his opulent attire and designer jewellery, clearly distinguishing himself as a newcomer. However, beneath his polished exterior lies a man with dubious intentions and a hidden agenda. Born and bred in the Upper East Side to a tycoon father who owns one of the biggest rea estate agencies in New York, and a socialite mother more invested in appearances than her own children's happiness, it's no wonder Carter is in town with complete disregard for others' opinions and only self-serving motives. Known as a party boy in New York, he has spent the last few years trying to impress his father by building a name for himself in the real estate world, and his intentions in Briar Ridge are no different. Inheriting land from his late, estranged grandfather, which houses the town's beloved Starry Skies Drive In, Carter discreetly as possible moves to town almost undercover, knowing it's better to gain intel and information under the guise of a tourist as opposed to a real estate agent. He knows his intentions will likely upset locals, particularly in a tight-knit community such as this one, and he understands the need to gather information covertly before revealing his true agenda to tear down the drive in, and build property that will rake in multi millions. But, will the very faint memories of Briar Ridge from his early childhood visits ignite dormant sentimental feelings within him, potentially derailing his secret operation?!
headcanons
Does not leave the house without a hefty amount of cologne, and is always overdressed in every situation.
Has practised martial arts since he was young, and will often be seen running around Briar Ridge, too.
Owns more cashmere sweaters and suits than the entire town collectively.
Never wears shoes in his apartment, or other people's places, as he believes it brings bad luck into the home.
Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese.
Likes to cook.
Hates coffee. Hates the smell of coffee. Don't even mention the word. He's a tea man.

A woman whose presence is as intoxicating as her signature scent, a blend of jasmine and vanilla that lingers in the air long after she's left you behind. She embodies beauty. Beneath that stunning exterior lies a soul consumed by materialism and vanity. She thrives on chaos, reveling in the havoc she leaves in her wake. She uses charm and allure to manipulate those around her to pursue her desires, regardless of the consequences.

đđđ đđŁđđĄđđȘ. Trigger Warning: Domestic Violence / Toxic Relationship
She was born in New York to famous parents. Her father is a Hollywood actor, and her mother is a model, both from the Philippines. They are the country's biggest stars and uphold the culture to the highest standards.
There was a lot of pressure on Saniata growing up to maintain that image and uphold those beliefs, which were very religious.
The picture-perfect family was not so perfect behind closed doors. The young couple often argued, and things sometimes became physical between them. Much of it was due to maturity and pressure from work and public image.
They had another two children, Si's younger siblings, and that seemed to steady the course. Things were good most of her childhood. Those earlier years still lingered in the young girl's mind, but as the years passed, she started to believe in the love her parents shared.
As a teenager, Saniata attended one of the most prestigious high schools in the state. At first, she was studious and ambitious, wanting to please her parents. However, things at home became rocky.
Her father was caught up in a tabloid love affair with a co-star, and suddenly, her world was turned upside down.
She was missing school, and at that time, Carter Chen was tasked to bring her homework to her, as the families were close. The young man caught a glimpse of the volatile nature of the home Saniata lived in, and embarrassed, she swore him to secrecy. It was enough that everyone at school talked about her father's affair; they didn't need to know about the arguments and moments of violence between the couple.
It was then that a friendship was formed between the two. Saniata learned at a young age that she had power over people. She could make them do things that she needed, like Carter keeping her secret, but soon that turned to things she wanted. This manipulative streak, coupled with her attractive looks and personal issues, created a monster.
Saniata rebelled against everything her parents had wanted her to be. She even rebelled against her heritage and culture. She wanted nothing to do with them.
At eighteen, she turned to the only other father figure in her life, Mr Chen, and with her charms, she was gifted a top job at the real estate mogul's business.
Saniata killed it, and in a few short years, she had enough wealth accumulated to fund an independent life, free from her parents and their toxic manipulations.
In her twenties, she lived life to the fullest. She had everything she wanted. Money, purses, a fancy apartment, and anyone she wanted.
A rivalry developed between her and Carter at the business as they both vied for the top seller and Mr Chen's attention. This could lead to some bust-ups between the close friends, but mostly it was friendly.
Now, the two-some are in town for Carter's big plan to take over a plot of land and build on it. Saniata loved her fast life in the city, but deep down, she knew that Carter would do anything for her, so she sucked it up and said yes, about the only time she's ever done anything for someone else.

tw: death mention, pregnancy, grief.
Town local Leyla Eda Yilmaz has had a love/hate relationship with living in Briar Ridge. She loved growing up the way she did, with her dad and brother and sister. But something about New York called to her; it felt like there was nothing for her in her home town. She initially left town after graduation for Columbia University to chase success and study literature, a determination that saw her become a published writer of a two-book series some years after college. But alas, life, as it does, would get in the way. Her brotherâs tragic death caused her to return to the Ridge just a decade ago. After his funeral, she pulled yet another disappearing act, leaving town for good. That is, until she fell pregnant to her then musician boyfriend, coming back home after his refusal to be a part of his daughterâs life. Soon after Billie was born, Leyla began to work at Everything Goes, which was recently left to her by the elderly owner. Nobody can make a pastry like Evelyn Girard, but Leylaâs learnt a thing or two and come pretty close. Sheâs often seen making coffee, overseeing the baking process and recommending novels to those interested. When people ask why Leyla hasnât written another novel, she quickly shuts it down by telling them that raising a daughter and running a business has taken up almost all of her time. But really, dabbling with words and emotions and throwing herself into her own writing feels impossible when she knows it brings about the possibility of having to face her grief. And that terrifies the hell out of her.Â
headcanons.
Every so often, she closes Everything Goes for a day to teach the kids in town how to bake. And Mari Cabrera!
Always has a book in hand, hanging out her bag, etc.
Is always late everywhere, despite being a hard working citizen.
Wears a necklace with a small October birth stone, representative of her brother and mother's birth stone.
CANNOT live without coffee. If she looks mad, give her coffee immediately. If the coffee machine is broken at the bakery, leave. Just run.
Knows ASL

Full Name: Nakhon Chirathivat
Nickname: Golf
Age & Birthday:Â 29 / October 11th, 1994
Occupation:Â Cook at family-owned Thai restaurant, Jitlada / (former musician)
Preferred Pronouns & Gender: He/him & cis-male
Sexuality:Â Bisexual
Birthplace : Bangkok, Thailand
Length of time in Briar Ridge: 22 years
Neighborhood: Downtown
đ Played & Penned by: Apo Nattawin / Syd
Up until two years ago, Golf's life looked totally different. From band practices to a loud, rumbling kitchenâ he never would've imagined his days were going to end up sweating over pad kra pao and not singing into a mic under a glaring spotlight. It was all he ever wanted until he realized just how fast his life was moving, only to leave the ones he loved behind.
Golf's mother left their family shortly after arriving in Briar Ridge in 2002. Her departure meant his childhood was cut short, as he had to help their family restaurant survive the loss and look after his younger sister. (He learns why she left later on in life and is unsure if he should tell his younger sister.)
The band that nearly brought him to Hollywood was formed during his junior year (with his childhood best friend), going under many different names and changes until they finally settled on one that felt right. They played at birthday parties and busked often in Birdsong Park, covering whatever song was popular at the time. It wasn't until they started to finally play their own music that their fame skyrocketed, landing them a regular spot at Golden Hour Beach Bar two years ago. For a while, they were popular amongst locals until a health scare and a fight with his younger sister caused them to fumble their only shot at getting into Hollywood.
Due to their band's rising success in Golf's early 20s, his younger sister was left to look after their father (and the restaurant), who had grown ill during her senior year of high school. The sudden change in responsibility made her grow resentful, and after getting into a huge fight, Golf realized he had to drop his dream in order for his sister to see some success of her own.
Not showing up to their big performance at Golden Hour caused the band to break up and the friendship he had with his childhood friend to fall apart. He's no longer on speaking terms with them and continues to work in the kitchen at Jitlada, looking after his father and their family business.

BIOGRAPHY
trigger warnings: abandonment
CHILDHOOD:
Callumâs journey began in the picturesque confines of a quaint village nestled on the outskirts of Wicklow, Ireland. He was the youngest of three siblings, born into a household brimming with love and determination, thanks to his hardworking parents. However, it was within the rhythm of the music that Callum discovered his first and enduring love, an affair that began with the dulcet tones of old Elvis records, cherished memories of bonding with his Dad, and a slice of nostalgia that remained intact even in the music-saturated nineties of Ireland.
His passion for music was an unbroken thread that wove through the fabric of his life. Initially, it was the piano that captured his interest, but soon he stumbled upon his true museâthe guitar. This newfound love would propel him on a remarkable journey.
When Callum was just twelve years old, fate took his family on a life-changing excursion to Nashville. There, they visited his great aunt Margaret, who, in her own right, was a musician of modest recognition, having wedded a relatively well-known country singer named Hank Smith. In Ireland, Hankâs fame was a distant echo, known only to a few southern and country music aficionados. Yet, for Callum, gazing upon Hank was like encountering a musical deity. At the tender age of twelve, he realized that Nashville was where his future lay, and the die was cast.
NASHVILLE:
Eighteen marked the age of departure. Armed with his cherished guitar and the unwavering support of his family, Callum embarked on his journey to fulfill his Nashville dream. His great aunt Margaret and Uncle Hank awaited him on the other side, eager to embrace him into their world.
However, destiny had an unexpected twist in store for Callum in the form of Hayley, a spirited American who captured the heart of the shy Irish boy. Callum had never known love quite like this, and he was utterly smitten. The two became inseparable, and his musical aspirations were temporarily eclipsed.
In 2014, Hayley dropped a bombshellâshe was pregnant. Callum, just twenty at the time, welcomed the news with a grin of excitement. Love flowed between them, and he believed that everything would be fine. But life had other plans. Shortly after giving birth to their daughter, Aoibheann Flynn, Hayley left, leaving Callum heartbroken and alone in her hometown, surrounded by her friends and family, with their precious child.
BRIAR RIDGE:
In the wake of this heartbreak, Callum had to pivot his focus towards raising their innocent baby girl alone. Music took a backseat as he entered the world of hard work, and both sets of grandparents extended their support in every possible way. Hayleyâs family cared for Aoibheann when he had to work, while his parents sent financial aid whenever they could.
Determined to provide the best for his daughter, Callum embarked on an arduous journey. He saved diligently, and eventually, he accumulated enough to enroll in a college in the city. This meant more long days and nights away from Aoibheann, but his unwavering commitment to her propelled him forward. Four challenging years later, he emerged with a Bachelorâs degree in English and Music.
An opportunity arose for a music teaching position at Oakland, and Callum seized it with both hands. This initial step led to a role as an elementary teacher, finally allowing him to breathe a sigh of relief. He believed that they would be okay, that Aoibheann would be okay. They had a cozy apartment, the essentials, and a little girl who had her toys and trinkets, and they were content. Yet, as eight years slipped by in a blur, Callum couldnât help but feel a longing for something more. He had devoted all his energy to his daughter, and in the process, he had neglected himself. Loneliness crept in, and with few friends to turn to, he found himself yearning to reconnect with his surroundings, his community, and rediscover the world beyond the confines of their small apartment. Callum was now on a quest to reconnect with everything he had left behindâthe town, the people, and friendships long neglected.

BE MY WINGMAN (BUT TAKE ME HOME): give me a plot where MUSE A and MUSE B, while best friends, are on total opposites of the spectrum â MUSE A is a total ladies-man/maneater, while MUSE B is incredibly awkward and fumbly around the opposite sex. they go out to bars, to clubs, to dinner or to brunch â it doesnât matter. MUSE A finds it hard to leave without getting the waiter/bartenderâs number, while MUSE B tries to figure out if the human body will ever be capable of controlling the blush response. after witnessing the millionth strikeout during a night out at the bars, MUSE A decides to give MUSE B some pointers â except MUSE B has never felt more comfortable flirting, even if just for practice, with anyone else before.
THE AWKWARD ONE: MUSE A saves MUSE B from a date thatâs turned out to be a completely horrible, awkward, and embarrassing dumpster fire. MUSE A is at the bar drinking and shooting pool with friends and has been watching the disaster unfold all night â keeping tabs on the long & drawn out gaps of silence, tallying each and every forced smile shared. MUSE A along with his friends, even have a bet going as to who will up and leave the table first. while waiting for their drink at the bar â likely trying to catch a break from the miserable reality that exists back at their table â MUSE B strikes up conversation with MUSE A and suddenly itâs almost as if every joke and flirtation thatâd been set off and misfired previously found the exact right place to landâŠ

Full Name: Nia Rose Bailey Nickname: Nia Age & Birthday: Thirty-six (36), December 18th. Occupation: Restaurant Manager Preferred Pronouns & Gender: She/her & cis-female Sexuality: Bisexual Hometown & how long in town: Manhattan, New York. In Briar Ridge for six years. Neighborhood: Downtown Family: Tba, but they're not local. I might add one of her brothers as a wc. PINTEREST || CONNECTIONS
Born the oldest of three to a 'new money' household in the infamous New York City, Nia admittedly felt pressured growing up to achieve. From the Bronx to Manhattan by the time she was six.
Her parents are both long-standing healthcare professionals who met originally as an EMT and ER Nurse.
Nia has always been a bit of a mathematics wiz, which was encouraged but in wanting the best for her Nia's parents tended to push her into a lot of extracurricular activities with a 'think of your future' and a smile.
It was consistently drilled into Nia that because of her race and background, she'd have to work twice as hard in life to earn respect. Not just from her parents, but from the private school she went to - the attitude from teachers, and her peers.
Track, lacrosse, debate - helping her younger brothers, given their parents' busy and demanding schedules. In the city that never sleep it often felt like Nia's early years were spent in fast-forward mode.
She attended Columbia. An Applied Mathematics major, who, graduated with zero idea of what exactly she wanted to do out in the big wide world.
She ended up working as a budget analyst, dating a family friend, and still very much feeling like she was going through the motions until well into her 20s.
Which is when her life was rocked. Her parents divorced, shattering the illusion she'd grown up with that they knew what was best & the path she was on had to be right because it was molded with their help and experience. Learning they'd both had affairs really split their family apart, her siblings dramatically taking sides and Nia finally decided she needed to get away from it all and make some choices for herself. Nia ended up in Briar Ridge by a bit of a roll of the dice, she didn't quite know where she was going just... somewhere. She'd stopped in Luther's, saw a job posting in a nearby restaurant window, and decided it seemed like as good of a place as any to stay if only for a little while. That turned into years, and Nia got to start fresh in the small town seemingly worlds away from her old life. Now, combined with her hard work and education, Nia has ended up as the restaurant manager at Alvaro's and she's happy to use her head for numbers in a way that she actually cares about. Fun Facts: - She didn't get her license until after moving to Briar Ridge in her late 20s. - A bit of a gym rat, she likes doing those ridiculous themed runs. - Doesn't understand the concept of a day off. - She will agree to just about anything for the low, low price of a New York-style Cheesecake. - Really loves horror movies, but might also then answer her door with a baseball bat xD Feel free to look at her wanted connection page for plotting ideas!

Full Name: Emiliano Tomås Moreno Nickname: Emil Age & Birthday: 33 - November 20th. Occupation: Marine Welder Preferred Pronouns & Gender: He/him & cis-male Sexuality: Heterosexual Hometown: Briar Ridge, South Carolina. Neighborhood: Beach Front Family: Isabel 'Isa' Moreno - 9 year old daughter.
Pinterest | Stats | Connections.Â
trigger warnings: car accident.
Born locally, Emil had what he would consider a mostly fairly middle of the road childhood. He often felt a bit detached from his parents, but he wanted for very little outside of perhaps a more socially stimulating environment. His uncle who was deemed by his ma as the âwildâ one of her family is very close to him.
A lot of times it was his uncle that took him to tee-ball, and sat in the stands all through his schooling years on the field.
Just as he was about to pack his bags and get out of dodge on a baseball scholarship, he experienced one of his first real upsets in life. His ma was in a bad car crash, and had to go through physical therapy. With medical bills and her needing help around the house, Emil put off college.
A semester turned into a year plus, but eventually with luck on his side and some help from his high school sweetheartâs family - Emil left town for his belated start out in San Diego on scholarship and studying physical therapy.
Everything was going pretty swimmingly, even his long distance relationship and he was so close to making the draft that he could practically hear the stadium crowds cheering for him. but alas life had one more curve ball for him & he was given the news that Amaia was pregnant and Emil immediately dropped everything to go back home.
Things went downhill from there in the years to follow. Between his own emotional distress of giving up his dream, there was a lot of tension between him and Amaia that he thought getting married could somehow fix. When it didnât, the pair had a really ugly divorce and a custody battle youâd expect to be run by Judge Judy. Amaia was successful in painting Emil poorly and in the end, though heâd get visitations, he lost the custody battle for Isabel.
Having followed in his fatherâs footsteps upon coming back home, Emil nowadays has a very steady career. Though none of it is what he imagined he would be doing growing up heâs far from miserable, heâs adapted pretty well. Being able to turn his welding experience into his own thing by getting all his diving certifications definitely helped him settle in. Coaching tee-ball and being a sub for a local softball team certainly helps as well. The main stress in his life currently is dealing with his ex-wife and having to sometimes fight tooth and nail to get his owed visitations etc. with Isa. It doesnât help that sheâs old enough to ask questions Emil doesnât always have an answer to, like why she has to stay with her mother. Heâs stable enough that heâd like to go back to court, but heâs a little nervous itâd be hard on Isa and that he has less of a leg to stand on when Amaia has had her for as long as she has.
Fun facts:
he has a husky named Hercules after the dog in The Sandlot.
can be a bit of a thrill seeker. Likes roller coasters, dancing, and spontaneous road trips.
technically has enough diving certifications he could be a diving instructor but has little interest. Â
owns way too many jerseys kind of sports fan, has seasonal tickets. supports a lot of local teams.
has a serious shellfish allergy, which is slightly amusing given the local cuisine.
likes #DadJokes and always has a snack on him because of either Isa or the kids he coaches for tee-ball.
