I think so many people are so deeply alienated from themselves that they have no clue how to exercise their free will and autonomy. For some, this alienation runs so deep that they are afraid of their own autonomy and humanity. It is completely understandable why one would have those feelings, but it can be worrisome.
I want to help others who feel this way, so here are small things I have done to exercise my free will:
Add "guilty pleasure" songs to playlists and actually listen to them (I have a ton of late 1990s-early 2000s music I listen to now proudly that I never listened to in the past out of shame)
Getting the décor item, bath set, bed spread, ect. in the patterns you like, even if it's "childish" (I got a dinosaur-themed wastebasket from the kids' décor section and I adore it)
Taking a new route to get to a place you go to often
Eat dessert first
Celebrate well, and often
Collect things that are "odd" or don't seem like an "acceptable" thing to collect (somebody on my "for you" page collects dandelion crayola crayons and it was so cool!!!!!!)
Incorporate one new piece in an outfit you wear frequently (e.g., a new chain, a necklace, ribbons, bracelets, ect.). Challenge yourself to add onto the outfits if you feel up for it.
Sing along to songs without worrying that you sound "good" or your intonation is completely accurate
Read a book from a genre you weren't allowed to read as a kid (comics, thrillers, mysteries, anything!)
Walk without having a specific destination or goal
Pick up a new craft without expecting yourself to master it or to ever be "good" enough. Get your hands messy.
I don't want to shame anybody for not feeling as though they have free will or that they are exempt from exercising it. However, I wanted to give ideas so that you might read this list and find your own ways to express your intrinsic autonomy and will. You deserve to be a person, to feel alive, not just living. That is what our lives are for.

man, you know, nobody asked me, but I have such conflicting opinions on some of the fat falin art, where on one hand: it's always nice to see A Fat Body in fanart anywhere + it's being done in positive ways, for funsies
and on the other hand, there is something so familiar about how you are automatically The Fat One if you are a woman simply standing next to a more petite woman, bc I've had a 0% hitrate in seeing people change Marcille's body type and keep Falin's, or change both of them. it's just Falin

Yet another Owl House drawing I never finished (of which there are many lol)
It was a dual redraw of/homage to my first ever fanart from the day the pilot episode aired (below the cut), but this time done right after the show ended and with Eda's updated look! Though I lost steam fast I kinda like it this way lol, one of those things that probably would have lost its energy if I tried to line it yknow

so we all agree that kirkwall is both horrifying and fascinating and i wish they'd delved more into its bloody history beyond the snippets we get from the codexes of the band of three. like hello?? three seekers of truth - among which a dalish mage - scurrying about the sewers and lower passages of the city, discovering that kirkwall was designed as some sort of magical symbol, has grooves in the sewers allowing the flood of blood downward for blood magic purposes, and last but not least realizing that its circle of magi had a much higher number of failed harrowings & episodes of blood magic hysteria than basically any other circle in existence??? you cant leave me hanging like that. why was the veil so thin there even before tevinter came? why were they weakening it further?? what was tevinter doing with all those disappeared slaves every year and the huge blood magic ritual involving thousands of slaves and the city itself being a magic symbol??? did the band ever find out if the Forbidden Ones are the same Forgotten Ones of dalish lore??? why was xebenkeck called 'forgotten one'??? hello????? what the fuck is up in kirkwall??????

I honestly wasn't expecting the Kazuha to rejoin my world even after being added in the friend list, 'cause you know, sometimes they're just there- in the list.
But boy am I surprised- in a good way! 'Cause omg I genuinely feel giddy PAHAHHADHSAJDH
The Kazuha wanted fungal spores this time :'))
Also yes, there's "TBC" because I did not include all of the shenanigans here, so there's going to be one more part!
(a very cute close-up of two adventuring anemo men utc)

pulling out the british dyke card to give some context to the bummy slur drama.
so personally I’ve never seen the phrase “bummer” used as a slur in the same way you’d call someone a fairy etc. (though I’m sure usage does exist, & the uk is an incredibly accent/dialect dense country so ymmv)
however a fairly common, if outdated, term I have heard in the wild is “bumming” which is basically a slang equivalent to sodomy or buggery and has the same connotations. i.e a derogatory way to refer to gay sex. and fwiw it is genuinely where my mind went when I saw bummy pitched as a name.
idrc if bvddie shippers wanna come up with a mean nickname, but if ppl start to point out the one you land on is uncomfortably similar to a slur maybe just stop using it. especially if others start doubling down and actually using it as a slur to taunt mlm fans specifically.
‘but we didn’t know!’ or ‘but it’s not a slur here!’ Hot take but if we can learn there’s a time and a place the word f*g (a historically completely innocuous word in the uk) is not appropriate maybe you guys can do us a solid on this one?

As much as I love the dynamic of girl dad Luocha and Sushang (plus Guinaifen) I also think it's funny how canonically Sushang thinks Luocha is like. This absolutely weak and frail man who she needs to be the bodyguard of. Like in all her voice lines about him she's like "He's so weak and frail,,, brave but pathetic,,, I gotta protect him, he'd be so easy to rob,,," which is HILARIOUS to me. Like when you put him on a team with her, her voiceline is basically, "I'll protect you babe, you just focus on healing!"
Every woman that meets this man is just like "Don't worry babygirl, i'll protect you" and he just goes with it. At this point he could just be like "Oh I forgot my wallet" and some buff lesbian would appear like "Don't worry sweatheart, I got you".

I love how The Boy Wonder is characterizing Talia. Like, I have some disagreements (mainly in that I still don't like the idea that her relationship with Bruce was somewhat encouraged by Ra's because like...idk it just feels weird to me. I also don't like that Talia seems pretty chill with murder, since I still think she's most interesting as somebody who kills only when there is no other option) but overall I think it's a pretty good way of showing her as a complicated woman.
She knows her father is cruel and will do things that go too far, but she genuinely believes in his mission and will do whatever she thinks will serve it (another benefit of actually touching on the ecologist angle of the LoA). It's also notable that she only fully betrays Ra's when she knows that HE has compromised his own cause at the altar of ego. Her loyalty to the cause doesn't mean she'll let Ra's do whatever he wants, ESPECIALLY as it pertains to her son.
Her relationship with Damian is also complicated in a way that feels a lot more in-character and reasonable than usual. No matter what her intentions were with the action, she abandoned Damian to Bruce and that HURT HIM. It's given him issues where he constantly strives to not just be good but to be BETTER than the others so that he won't be left again. It can be the right decision for both Damian and herself AND ALSO cause them a lot of pain. She loves him dearly, he is her heart. But just like she puts herself through suffering for a goal she believes is righteous and just, she puts her son (her heart) through that same pain because she believes it is the right thing to do. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
It gets a bit too self-deprecating at the end for me (I honestly don't think Talia would consider herself unworthy to be proud of Damian), but it shows her with a level of self-awareness and an understanding of her errors. Issue 4 also shows a lot of my favorite traits of Talia's in full force: her perseverance and her confidence in her own moral judgements (if not in her interpersonal relationships).
