i literally have a text post in my drafts about how international swifties felt so left out when the eras movie was first announced in north america and that it’s a nice lil thought that many of us practically even get to see it first now just due to time difference – aged like milk considering those north american exclusive (ofc) thursday showings. they just couldn’t let us bejeweled lol

lestat somehow ends up having beef with taylor swift because she released the 15th version of her new album the same day the vampire lestat album came out and made it go number two on the charts. his fans are mad and they say she’s not a ‘girl’s girl’ because they think lestat is secretly using she/her pronouns. this causes MAD discourse on twitter because people say lestans (official name of his fandom) are co-opting struggles of real trans/genderqueer artists and that lestat is clearly just a cis white man who thinks his aesthetic is cool and hip with the times but he’s actually super cringe. lestat has killed his pr team so he tweets himself in response to the drama and says that mademoiselle swiftié is a perfectly fine musician but she’s basically a baby compared to his long relationship with music. swifties ratio him on twitter calling him ‘an old queen’ and ‘world’s worst father’ (this is because they read international bestseller interview with the vampire). lestat has an emotional breakdown and cries for three days and he eats his makeup artist for making him look old. his producers are desperate and they ask daniel molloy to fix him because daniel is the unofficial vampire therapist now. vampire daniel’s idea of fixing lestat is to go on a blood bender with him. somehow this works because in between victims daniel tells lestat to stop being a little bitch and grow the fuck up. here lestat understands for the first time why daniel and louis are friends and asks daniel to telepathically call louis for him because he needs him. daniel tells him to eat shit. as they return to lestat’s shack (yes he still lives there when he’s not touring) they find out that swifties have doxxed him and showed up to the shack to ravage it. lestat starts crying again while daniel falls over himself laughing and records everything and posts it on tiktok. armand likes the video 0.3 seconds after it’s posted. throughout all of this louis is on a beach somewhere enjoying a quiet night, he telepathically asks daniel how lestat’s doing and daniel tells him to not even worry about it.

I’ve struggled with this album, it literally sent me back to therapy because of the way I had to confront shame and the way I’ve internalized it. But I’ll always think of this review from a random tik toker, non swiftie, who basically said this isn’t an album you make if you’re still in it. The fact that she made this, released it, not only helped get her through but allowed her to heal and embrace her future.

it’s funny because I also thought that about midnights, but the way she talks about the two albums is markedly different.

PEOPLE CAN'T DIAGNOSED THEMSELVES AS AUTISTIC

i hate people who pretend to have something to it can make them look cool it makes other swifties who are actually professionally diagnosed with it and have to struggle with it at work and at home life and it looks bad and is VERY offensive- it's like someone who is wearing fake glasses because it's a fashion trend and doesn't need glasses- give it up they are mentally ill not autistic.

Also if you think a person calling themselves autistic is doing it to be trendy you’re a dumbass. People are still trying to commit eugenics against autistic people. I CANNOT recommend this fic enough, it’s literally an entire rewrite of 9-1-1 seasons 1-6 (it is currently unfinished but STILL WORTH READING) but told from a specifically romantic Buddie POV, and it is PERFECTION. I was literally texting my sister before Buck and Eddie had even MET canonically to tell her she needed to read it, that’s how amazing it is.

Buck is a Swiftie, the author’s characterizations of him and Eddie and Chris are ON POINT, the way Buck and his struggles with himself and his parents are handled is so well written, and the SLOW BURN IS SO WORTH IT!!

But the best thing about it to me is the fact that it literally changes nothing from canon up until past s6. It’s simply TAKEN canon, and written it through the lens of both Buck and Eddie’s internal dialogue realizing that “hey, maybe these interactions and this relationship has ALWAYS been about us falling in love, even if it was never explicitly said.” And the way this author writes Eddie and Buck realizing that they really, really love eachother that way? 100/10 stars, zero notes, Eddie admitting to himself he’s in love with Buck WAY before he’s able to admit he’s gay is something that would so happen in canon, Buck pining like a kicked puppy would also be canon, and not gonna lie, the WAY they finally get together? Nothing they do in the show now will EVER top that for me, it was so well written.

TLDR; I CANNOT recommend this Buddie fic enough, “Things We're All Too Young to Know by Daisies_and_Briars” if you need a seriously amazing 9-1-1 fic while we’re waiting for s8 I sincerely recommend checking it out it’s INCREDIBLE.

Newsies Characters as DC Characters Part 2: Sarah Jacobs as Supergirl (Kara Danvers/Kara Zor-El)

A/N: Like with my Bumlets as Nightwing post, this is a combination of canon and headcanon. I couldn’t have gotten started on this without @chaosfairy18, who helped me settle on Kara before I deleted my old blog so thank you for that! This addresses all three incarnations of Kara’s character in comics: Pre-Crisis, Post-Crisis, and Post-Flashpoint

Older female relative who struggles with the effects of immigration more than a younger male relative (it will never not be funny to me that Kara is technically older than Clark)

Animal person

A kind, gentle person who will one hundred percent punch you in the face if you hurt someone she loves

Surprisingly sarcastic

Kind of overlooked for her more famous/popular male relative

Should be friends with the Nightwing character (I could rant for hours about how if DC hadn’t killed her off during COIE and then refused to bring her back for TWENTY YEARS BECAUSE THEY SUCK, then Dick Grayson, Donna Troy, and Kara would’ve been their own Trinity. I love her friendship with Stephanie Brown but she was Barbara Gordon’s friend first and I miss them)

Has a hard time truly connecting with people but tries (this is actually something I think she shares with David)

Very family oriented

Underestimated badass

Craves a sense of normalcy and freedom (Sarah is restricted by the gender roles of her time and Kara is an alien)

Jewish/Jewish Coded (Sarah, obviously, is Jewish and while Clark’s Jewish origins are more well-known, there are a lot of parallels in Kara’s stories as well)

Multi-lingual (Polish, Yiddish, and English for Sarah while Kara speaks Kryptonian, and English, and can piecemeal other Earth languages)

Struggles a bit with feeling isolated

Girly girls who like fashion (Sarah has so many different outfits in the movie and Supergirl designs her own costumes)

Romantics (though Sarah’s definitely more pragmatic about relationships than Kara is)

Swifties who dragged one of the boys in their life to see the Eras Tour movie (Bumlets was happy to go and they wore matching outfits while Kon went and spent the entire time pretending that he didn’t know all of the songs)

I've loved taylor since I was a child, I've followed her entire career, it's like she's a part of me. Which makes it all the more upsetting when she is not just silent on genocide, but seemingly avoiding all comments about it. But I have a hard time staying mad at her. I'll scroll past a video or edit and think "she's so cute I love her". God. I think I should follow less swifties. I want to care more about people who need help, and care less about my childhood idol, but it's so hard. Like I think Taylor will always have a special place in my heart, but I need to stop actively following her and put my energy elsewhere. But it's so hard to do.

i forgot to say in my ask that using mr moral lyrics to say kendrick hates women is so ironic because that is the album that essentially is writting from a family man‘s standpoint. As a body of work it highlights not only his wife but also women or mothers in general. (At least that is what i see as a big part of it..what i mean by this is even if it isn‘t written with that in mind, i can still take lessons from it and bring them in my daily life to my family) it works through his weak points and his struggles, not just from a personal perspective, but from several views. Which is why if you don‘t have any context aka only half a line of a song, it can look as if it is hateful to women, when it isn‘t at all. For anybody only tuned into the beef; that is as if you would only hear: back to back i like that record

And assume kendrick actually loves drake. Like it is just so braindead to take not even a whole line, but half a line from a song and determine the status of that artist. and i haven‘t even hit on how she essentially says that kendrick actually only has listeners cause we need somebody to hate taylor swift on. Making it out to be that a black artist only has fans cause we hate listen to him to compensate for a white artist. So now kendrick‘s achievements are only there cause of taylor. The mental gymnastics this swifti account has is beyond me

Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers is a concept album that analyzes and reflects on his life experiences during his therapy journey. Its lyrics touch on a variety of personal themes, including childhood and generational trauma, infidelity, and celebrity worship.

She’s mad because he’s “saying sexist things” instead of her actually paying attention to what he’s talking about. He isn’t saying anything, he’s telling you what he’s had to grow up around.

Like I said, nothing about this is surprising. Her and her anon aren’t used to storytelling of that level, whatever, but this is a pattern. Your speculation on how Elain's voice (the inner thoughts in her POV) could be presented? Would it be more romantic? Witty? Sarcastic? Dreamy? or more observant and perceptive? A mix of all? or maybe more internal (like intuned to her emotions)?

Also for all the theories about Guilty as Sin, I think SJM just likes the song. It doesn't necessarily have to be about the books. I suppose we can all have fun theorizing about anything.

Regarding her post.

I think it is most likely that Sarah loving that song has nothing to do with Elucien or E/riel.

Do I think she felt moved by it? That it made her get in her feels? Definitely!

Do I think it could have given her some sort of inspiration as a writer? Sure! We have no idea what headspace she's in right now, we have no idea what she's writing right now. The song, while possibly about emotional cheating, is also about longing and her MMCs usually experience that. Maybe she's even writing a book set in the past and the song gave her inspiration for the LoA and Helion before they had the affair that resulted in Lucien.

However, Sarah says that she always has music on while she's writing so I do understand why everyone is trying to play detective. She chose her main platform for communication with her fans to create a post about a specific song and her author's website says "follow me for updates on IG". Considering she doesn't often post, when she does people are going to look for clues. When she herself has said she leaves all sorts of crumbs and easter eggs in her books and we all know she's a Swiftie (who also leaves easter eggs), it's not farfetched to think, "maybe that's what she's now doing on her IG!"

I do think people are being a little harsh towards others who are debating the possibility of clues.  It's not like all sides of the ship wars haven't read into her posts. I remember when she released a HOFAS excerpt, people were claiming that because she shared one with Nesta and Az it was further proof that she wants the focus to now be on Az but Nesta ended up being more heavily featured in the crossover.  Or how all sides of the ship war were using her last post of being in the mountains as evidence of who was getting the next book.

I think the theories / debates are fun and people should not be ridiculed for creating posts. We have literally nothing else to go on these days and in an an attempt to not recycle the same excerpts from the books over and over, even seemingly random IG posts can inject a little life (no matter how ridiculous) into our pages.

With that said, it's a little wild to claim her posts are confirmation of anything. While theories / debates are fun, acting superior and claiming the other side is crying because "her post proves E/riel endgame!" is taking it too far. Claiming that because she liked the song it's absolute proof of who is getting the next book is a stretch because, while we can theorize that maybe it does mean something, it could also still mean a hundred other things or absolutely nothing at all.

As far as Elain, I think she actually has a thoughtful / observant inner voice with a sarcastic edge.

A 75/25 ratio. Where she'll sit there thinking things that are insightful and observant then throw in a zinger from time to time to the point that it sneaks up on you. A lot like Lucien in ACOWAR, where he was going on and on about how well decorated the HOW was then throws out "Rhys was a good many things, but he certainly had good taste". Or when he was thinking on how he just wanted to read, thinking back on Jesminda, offered Elain tea then called Nesta a viper.

But where I think Lucien's inner thoughts are tinged with a bit of heaviness and sadness, I think Elain's will be slightly more optimistic.

I think Lucien pushes forward and carries on, he remains fair and polite, but there's a lot of guilt and hopelessness lying just under the surface.

With Elain, I think she leans more towards the positive. That's not to say she doesn't struggle with things too but I think despite that, she continues believing that things will work out, that things will be ok.

There's a reason SJM said Nesta and Lucien would cause one another more damage but that Elain was someone both she and Lucien didn't see coming. I think it's Elain's inner strength, that ability to remain positive, loving and kind that is going to be the central theme of their story. There is a lot of discord in certain relationships right now. Between Lucien and Tamlin, Lucien and the people of Spring, Lucien and the people of Autumn, Lucien and Eris, Az and Lucien, the sisters at times, Lucien and Feyre / Nesta at times, the IC and Tamlin, and there has not been a character to help rebuild those bridges yet. I do think it will be Elain's inner light and loving nature that will be a catalyst for many of these relationships beginning to repair themselves.
