Alien Day & International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day & National Dissertation Day
Person A is doing their dissertation on radiation and gets permission to go visit a site of high radiation, and ends up meeting Person B, an alien who’s family ship crashed in the territory, allowing them to be undiscovered by humans, and also, unlike humans, didn’t react badly to radiation but rather had some sudden evolutionary changes. Person A knows their dissertation will go great if they discuss Person B’s alien species, but also doesn’t want to take away Person B’s new sanctuary and home from them.

International Chernobyl Day of Remembrance
As all the world and his dog knows (or, at least, as many people saw me say in Lunarcy!), I have vivid memories of the loss of the Space Shuttle Challenger in 1986. I have no recollection of Chernobyl. Or do I?
There’s a memory that I pretty much have to date to the late summer or early autumn of 1986. I was in a children’s play-park in Richardson, Texas (a suburb of Dallas). A man was running a small handheld instrument, connected to a larger box on his belt by some kind of cord, over various items of playground equipment. I noticed him doing this to the slide, and asked him what he was about. He replied “surveying for radioactivity”. Of course, as a small child, I had no idea what that was, so the whole thing must have stuck in my mind because it was anomalous.
It seems plausible that this “surveying” was part of an effort to track the global deposition of Chernobyl fallout. If anyone knows more, please speak up!

* His face is featured in the music video for "You Need To Calm Down" on the wristwatch with cat design, and in Taylor's Amazon music ad.
*A fun fact I learned was that Amazon has only been selling music and videos since 1998. That is only 26 years and how many of us remember the last CD we bought at the store? People sometimes get shocked when you talk about how it used to be, when it wasn’t that long ago to begin with.
* He was featured on Swift's TIME magazine cover for 2023's Person of the Year. (*this and the one above are both clues to time, like Benjamin is the clue for time)
* He has an IMDb credit for his role in the "ME!" music video.
* Benjamin has his own TSantiherochallenge video.

The devastation at Chernobyl continues to serve as a stark reminder to the world. Our film STALKING CHERNOBYL will be made FREE on YouTube for the International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day.
youtube
Since February 2022, Chernobyl has been thrust back into the headlines because of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and temporary capture of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Although Russian forces have since withdrawn from Chernobyl, other safety issues at nuclear power plants have been highlighted by the Russian occupation of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station, which is just 500 kilometers away and stands as Europe’s largest nuclear plant. Since being taken over by the Russian military in March 2022, there have been repeated concerns of another nuclear disaster that could affect the region for decades to come.

Today Is…International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day
I wouldn’t say i support nuclear energy, obviously it is cleaner than what we already have but whereas it isn’t stuffing billions of tonnes of carbon into the already heavily polluted air we breathe, it is instead stuffing it into the ground with nuclear waste making that part of the planet uninhabitable for 100,000 years so it is hardly ‘Green Energy’ and when it goes wrong, it goes horrifically…

April 26 - International Day of Remembrance of Victims of Radiation Accidents and Catastrophes
In December 2003, the UN General Assembly supported the decision of the CIS Council of Heads of State to proclaim April 26 as the International Day of Remembrance for Victims of Radiation Accidents and Catastrophes, in memory of the Chernobyl disaster that occurred on April 26, 1986. The word "Chernobyl" has become a symbol of horror all over the world.

April 26th is...
Alien Day - A day to recognize and appreciate the fantastic world of the Alien(s) franchise. Beginning with the first film released in 1979 and spanning more than 40 years since, Alien (including the many films, books and games) has been an intense, unique and fascinating look into the question of whether other life exists in the universe.
Burlesque Day - Burlesque is a form of entertainment similar to a cabaret. The type of burlesque that people talk about these days closely resembles the kind of shows that were made popular during the early part of the twentieth century which would consist of strippers, comedians, and a master of ceremonies.
Get Organized Day - The one thing you can never get back is time, and organization can save you absolute mountains of it by making sure you know where things are, how to find them, and where to put them back for next time.
Help A Horse Day - Horses are very distinctive animals, well known for their grace and beauty. While there over 300 different breeds, they can be grouped into three main types – “hot bloods”, which are fast and bold, “cold bloods”, which are strong and calm, and “warm bloods”, which are a blend of the two and tend to be good for riding. This important occasion aims to raise awareness of the struggles that equines all over the world face and contribute to efforts saving them from cruel and inhumane situations.
Hug An Australian Day - The annual celebration is just a bit of fun that encourages people to connect with each other while simultaneously promoting positive vibes and a little gratitude towards the country that provided so many great pop culture icons.
International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day - This disaster is noted as being one of the most severe and dangerous in human history, and the UN decided that there should be a holiday made to observe the history of what happened. Chernobyl has affected the lives of many people all over Europe to this day. The affected areas of the Chernobyl Disaster are said to last at least 150 years before proper inhabitation can come again.
Pretzel Day - Legend has it that, at some time during the Middle Ages, Catholic Monks were trying to figure out what to do with little bits of dough they had that were leftover after baking their loaves of bread. They didn’t want to be wasteful. So, clever as they were, they came up with what is now known as the pretzel. The method included folding the dough into the shape of praying hands, or a knot that represented the Holy Trinity, depending on who happens to be telling the story at the moment.
Richter Scale Day - This occasion is an acknowledgement and celebration of the birthday of the man who taught the world how to measure earthquakes – Charles F. Richter.
