Oh and @duskdog thank you for ur fantastic tags on my other post it got me thinking about Bruce’s uniquely fucked up relationship with Tim and Stephanie, and Tim and Steph’s twin roles they play with how they vie for approval, and how Steph’s firing sort of starts setting up the stakes for her later actions, and I feel like a lot of those ideas actually start to come up in Robin #120. So I’m going to just ramble abt that now I guess.
Like, for one, we’re directed in multiple ways to compare Robin #120 and Steph’s firing in Gotham Knights #37.
Both Tim and Steph tell batman to “go to hell” in an almost identical speech bubble, the last thing Tim says while comforting Steph is “I know”, the exact same line Steph says last when she comforts Tim, and of course the fact that Steph herself brings up the similarity in situation directly.
Tim backstabs Steph for Bruce’s approval all the while asserting independence in Robin 106, and I feel like Robin #120 is almost a showcase of how his failure to follow through on his claims of independence bites him in the ass. (Maybe a little irony there. Maybe a little karma perhaps)
Tim does the same assertion of independence —> immediately concession thing when he tells Bruce he’s done and basically quits being Robin, only to change his mind completely and awkwardly continue on as Robin as if nothing had happened.
Tim basically proves again where his priorities lie: even its his turn to be the target of the most recent round of the Bruce Wayne’s Mind Games Wheel, he still comes back, he still fails to follow through.
Like, it sets a standard. Steph’s her own person, and I’m not trying to discredit her ability to think for herself here at all, but I think Tim’s choice to forsake his hurt over Batman’s mind game test and go back to Bruce sets a precedent. That this is just acceptable behavior if you want to be on Batman’s team. All I’m saying is this situation probably played some role in Steph’s willingness to pick up the Robin mantle despite her rocky history with Bruce. Steph herself is able to make this clear the connection between her own firing and Tim’s birthday gaslighting, and ergo, if Tim finds that behavior acceptable, if Tim can forgive and forget, if it doesn’t really matter, if Tim can move past it, then Steph should be able to do so too. It’s just part of working with Batman. I feel like that might set the stage for Stephanie’s ability to work under Batman again.
Probably a small factor, if one at all. And certainly not Tims fault really. But interesting to think about!
Additionally, I find the framing of roles so intriguing in Robin #120. Having Tim and Steph completely switch roles, (tricked by Batman becomes comforter, comforter becomes tricked by Batman) with all the corresponding dialogue switching with them (“I know”/“go to hell”) it kinda paints a grim picture.
Like on one hand, it’s nice that they have each other, and it’s horrible that they’re both so easily thrown from victim to comforter because the same man cannot and will not stop playing mind games with these teenagers.
And this moment is especially cool given how Tim and Stephanie are characters who are often shown in contrast to one another. They are contrasted in personality, contrasted in morality, contrasted in relationships with other characters, etc. something established both in Robin 1993 and also I feel picked up on in the fan sphere.
And for once, in Robin #120, they are not really being contrasted so much as directly compared to one another. They say the same words. They fit the same roles. They both are dealing with this same shitty Bat. They’re almost interexchangable, with how aligned their words and feelings seem to be.
But on the other hand, for me at least, Robin #120 also kinda really draws out the differences in the roles they are playing.
In GK37, Tims role as the comforter is perverted by the knowledge he has (and had) which Stephanie does not (and did not). He facilitated (unintentionally or not) the encounter Batman and Steph have. He chose to keep her in the dark, and he chose to lie to her. Of course, who knows what would have happened if Tim had warned Steph on his own, or even if he just hadn’t lied to Steph, their encounter could have very well gone the same way.
But regardless of that, Tim’s role is still not really pure. It’s a shitty situation for Tim to be in, sure, but his ability to comfort Steph is tainted by how he maintains the illusion that he had no clue this was going to happen to Steph, instead of the truth: he had clear advance warning.
And then in Robin #120, the tables are turned.
Now. I’m not really saying this was karma for him lying to Steph. But I’m also not not saying that.
But, I mean, Steph is comforting him, commiserating with his pain and mentioning her own shitty similar experiences and Tim Drake just sits there, seemingly trying to change the subject and ignoring entirely the (albeit unintentional) role he played in that particular mind game.
He should feel a little shitty about that, and I’m not sorry for saying it. He should feel guilty in that moment.
Almost certainly not Lewis’s intention, by the way, but I’ll read into whatever. I will say that no matter what, the parallels between GK37 and Robin #120 and definitely there, and I assume there for a reason.

There are a set of positions that recognise that humanity has become a logic of capital and then go "woah i guess it can become a logic of anything and the system will keep running" like no it very specifically has become a logic of capital, there was a reason for that process happening. social phenomena become day to day predominated by the interexchangeability of varied internally complex formations i.e conciousnesses. The reduction of 'life' to 'time life can spend in motion of things external to it' it is not a coincidence this is the form hundreds of previous modalitys of thinking the human have been compelled into, its because its the one that demands its own imperialism, demands its own consequet of the rest of existence. The refusal of plurality, of the myriad of "others" you will encounter is precisely the premise by which labour-power emerges as a thing that can be bought and sold on a market. We need to have a social ecology that is designed to reject tyrants, and that we have immense historical precedent to understnad

Fellow writer: I think when you say "glazed over" sometimes, you mean "glossed over". I guess it's semantics, and that error is more common in gen Z writing (so maybe it will even become standard), but I found it confusing.
maybe i was just thinking about donuts ;)
just kidding—thank you! i thought they were interexchangable.

IMO Light Cones being the “weapons” of HSR makes it so very good because
1) art nice and story sometimes makes me shed some tears
2) it gives HSR the liberty of making characters with the MOST BIZARRE weapons, attacks, skills and ultimates without trying to make them stick to a single weapon, like a spear. This has the added bonus of not needing a weapon that can be used ONLY by one character, like for example a limited event character where only they use a scythe or gun of 15 characters….
3) would hate to have to pull a single weapon for every character like do I pull a cane for Welt? Gauntlets for Luka? A brush for Hanya? What the hell does Clara and Svarog need, do i get her shoes instead?? But with LC i’m able to interexchange their weapons without having to sacrifice the amount of designs we get. <el3
4) idk if i make sense, but anyways LC banzaiiii!!!

Mega Man 6 Part 1
This game seems to get some flack sometimes but honestly? I think it’s pretty solid and overall is one of the most charming games in the series thanks to it’s great aesthetic variety based on its “one robot master and corresponding location representative of a nation” concept. Plus it introduced alternate paths in Classic Megaman! And the Rush adaptors are a neat concept I hope one day they’ll bring back.
The weapons are technically useful in the sense that most of them deal good damage but they’re also a bit....boring? They’re mostly variations of Megaman throwing small projectiles, and some of them I find rather interexchangable, like Tomahawk Man and Knight Man’s weapons.
My biggest issue is that, for some baffling issue, you can’t jump out of a slide, instead Megaman just stands there for a second which fucks me over during boss fights and I hate it.
Fun fact: according to the Japanese manual a “World Robot Alliance” was created to combat Wily’s forces and the game itself never mentions them, only the manga adaptation of MM6.
And who is it that funds them? The X Foundation run by the mysterious Mr.X
Yeah if you thought Wily had only tricked Megaman by donning a wig and sunglasses nope! He also duped the Megaman world’s version of NATO to the point that he was secretly behind them without them even knowing it! Now why doesn’t the intro show us this!?

Personally. Some of us may not like certain aspects of the holy spirit but honestly, they are very helpful to us. Im grateful. they hold kindness to us regardless of how we view them, we dont view them as a leader or anything like that of us. Im our leader / Lamb is interexchangably too. We are sovergin in both light dark and niether at the same time. The holy spirit does respect the fact we only believe in each other. in fact they purposely lead my jeanne d'arc fictive self to my lamb. and her avenger self too. so its quite telling that even the holy spirit respects who we are. that we hold so much love for each other and view each other as each others Goddess. that he just went "You two get to be with each ither for eternity ill just be a side advisor" and so it was.

Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity: Bridging the Gap Between Innovation and Risk
Tumblr media
Nowadays, Artificial intelligence (AI) with the combination of cyber security becomes the crucial ground where the two elements-innovation and risk are interexchange. The further development of AI takes place at a furious speed, and its applications regarding cyber security present at the same time both promises of defense and threats of misuse. In the volatile cryptocurrency market, understanding investor sentiment can be a crucial, yet tricky source of information. The CEO and co-founder of CryptoQuant, Ki Young Ju, has recently suggested large investors are still engaging with the market with a “risk-on mode.” According to a post Ki Young Ju shared in the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) with his over 300,000 followers, Bitcoin whales are still taking risks by sending their coins to derivatives trading platforms. The chart by the analyst displays the “interexchange flow pulse,” a measure of the net one-year flows of BTC between Nasdaq-listed cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase and derivative exchanges. When the metric rises, it implies that investors are moving more BTC from spot to derivative exchanges, which shows their increased risk appetite. The chart reveals that Bitcoin has been in a bullish phase when the indicator surpasses its 90-day moving average (MA), as it currently does. This pattern was also seen in 2017 and 2019-2021. When the indicator falls below its 90-day MA, Bitcoin has entered a bearish phase. While the cryptocurrency market has been trading sideways over the last few weeks, major financial powerhouses that collectively manage an astounding $27 trillion in assets are making inroads into the world of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency after a race to list the first spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) in the United States kicked off. As noted by CoinShares Chief Strategy Officer, Meltem Demirors, at least eight financial behemoths, which include BlackRock, Fidelity, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, BNY Mellon, Invesco, and Bank of America are “actively working to provide access to Bitcoin and more.” BlackRock, the world’s largest asset manager, took a pioneering leap on June 16 with a spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund application, seemingly igniting a domino effect as peers rushed to file similar applications. The $27 trillion figure, it’s important to point out, represents a grand total of assets under management across the aforementioned institutions, and only a minuscule fragment of this gargantuan sum is anticipated to be channeled into cryptocurrency investments.

a collection of some thoughts and anxieties around creating witcher books content in the same space of the games and netflix adaptations 🤔
its difficult to be a fan of the witcher books that deliberately creates and share books-only content (meaning content that’s not interexchangable with or cannot be mistaken for games and netflix content, or content that cannot be understood by with games-only and netflix-only fans) because the books fandom is much smaller, and for that reason it feels like you’re doing something “wrong” if you make books-only content, because the amount of interaction will also be much smaller than if you created or shared games and netflix content.
it’s difficult to see the amount of interaction you’re receiving in a proportional manner, since the term “witcher” is now applied to many different mediums with fanbases that widely vary in size. netflix-witcher or game-witcher posts can reach over 100,000 or 10,000 notes, and books-witcher posts just do not have that kind of audience — if you reach 1,000 on a books-witcher post, that’s an amazing, “viral” amount, and 100 is already an “i’d like to thank the academy” type of honor. but if you go from making games content to books content and the number of people interacting with your post drops, it’s not due to the quality of your work degrading — it’s due to the number of ‘people who are familiar with what your work is about’ dropping.
another difficult part is that creating content about the books is that it almost has a different timespan to it, on both sides, first of the fan creating the content — the “bigger” projects at least — requires careful thought, planning, mulling over, fact-checking, detail-checking… even the smallest doodles can get really deep into the canon content, and book fans tend to enjoy that.
this is of course not always the case, as we have memes, funny textposts, and fun little 5-minute “i was bored at work” type doodles which get passed around. but the books have a lot of material to check with, and for fans working on something “bigger,” this takes more time — for instance, there are no canonical visual designs generated for the characters and settings of the books, so a books-only fan who is interested in drawing characters in a scene from the books cannot reference a visual to create their designs (unless taking from official art or other fans’ designs). they will instead typically (hopefully?) reread the passages in which these characters and settings are described. same goes for fanfictions, doubly so if you value being canon-compliant, in-character, and using canonical places, descriptions, and names. and also for “meta” type posts or analysis.
and this is really because a lot of the fans of the books do care about canon, want to dive into and deconstruct and discuss what is canon, the parts of the books we love. a majority of fans of the books are likely not willing to fudge the details and make it all up, they want to do something by the books that they love. that’s why we’re here in the first place.
due to the long time it tends to take to create a books fanwork, that also leads to another anxiety about not producing enough fancontent for the books, when really the work you put in is just leading up to a “bigger” project, so it’s unfeasible to post a completed work every day. (i’m not saying this is the problem of only fans of the witcher books, i’m aware of the hellish way in which the internet treats creators and artists, but for me personally, i feel like this anxiety is tied to being a fan of the books as opposed to being a fan of the games or netflix).
and on the other side of things, of the fans appreciating the fanmade content. a majority of books-witcher fancontent lives for years in fans of the books minds, since there is not this constant churning of new content. my visual memory remembers artwork from five+ years ago because it means so much to me. these works are NOT intended to disappear forever once you post them. moreso, they become part of an archive of fanworks (indeed, scattered across various websites, but…)
this all, of course, varies widely by personal inclinations and the internet sites you tend to engage with the fandom on, but the major trend which i have seen is that the fans of the books experience time in the fandom in longer spans — in “fan lifespans”: how long you’re engaged with (or obsessed with) the media at hand, in “content lifespans”: how long content is valued, remembered, shared, in “content time”: how long content runs for (relevant to time-based mediums like, a tiktok vs a long video essay), and more…
and because of all of the above, perhaps the most difficult thing to see is that sincere joy and passion of the fans of the books who are just so obsessed with whatever you’ve just created or shared.
with all of this being said, i think we have to stop comparing ourselves to the games-witcher fandom and the netflix-witcher fandom. the books are not the same thing and the fans do not have the same fanculture.
so to all fans of the witcher books who create books-only content:
you’re doing just fine.
know that the other fans have your back and understand the “research,” “big project,” “long-form” method of creating fanwork. novigrad wasn’t built in a day, and good things take time.
the work that goes “unseen” is part of your own personal journey as a fan and can be a really valuable experience of getting closer to the books, so don’t feel the need to rush it for the sake of getting new things to the other fans. just have fun and enjoy taking your time :)

An Introductory Guide for Class 4 Softswitch Solution
Class 4 Softswitch solution has become acknowledged as the best tool that helps route call traffic en masse from one destination to another. A class 4 Softswitch enables the routing of VoIP calls to international destinations using IP networks. Connecting with a local class 5 Softswitch, a class 4 Softswitch sends calls through international channels and then connects with another class 5 Softswitch to complete the call.
A class 4 Softswitch solution is emerging as an important VoIP tool as it routes calls from a source to a destination, dealing with carriers, data, and call volume as well. In this blog, we dive deep to know the class 4 Softswitch in detail. We’ll also find answers to why it makes VoIP services more robust and reliable.
What is a Class 4 Softswitch?
Call switching as a practice has been around in the telecommunication industry for a long time. It has been used to interface callers with their recipients. Before the Softswitch landed on the horizon, this process was conducted manually, with administrators shifting phone lines physically from one circuit to the next. The Softswitch has made this practice automated.
Softswitch software helps to launch, manage, route, and terminate calls in VoIP networks. Both class 4 and class 5 Softswitch have emerged as the most widely implemented solutions for routing calls through different networks. For instance, if a user in the United Kingdom wants to call a number in the USA, a class 4 Softswitch will route the international call and maintain it as well till the call ends.
VoIP networks use different types of codecs and protocols. Also, the caller and the recipient may be using different types of telephony infrastructure. In such a scenario, the VoIP Softswitch does the transcoding of the different codecs that are used at both ends of the call. The same holds true for protocol conversion as well. If it is different at both ends of the calling line, the class 4 Softswitch does the protocol conversion to ensure a smooth flow of audio or video signals.
The class 4 Softswitch was originally designed to carry out the functions of call routing, protocol conversion, and transcoding seamlessly. But over time new and path-breaking features have been added to the solution. The new versions of the class 4 Softswitch come with security provisioning, failover, load balancing, backup, and reporting. It’s turned the technology on its head, making it a one-stop solution for all VoIP call connections.
What’s more, the new breed of class 4 Softswitch solutions also supports more call volume than its predecessors, giving VoIP solution providers an opportunity to scale their infrastructure and services. The solution also comes as a web based application making it easy to be accessed remotely and enables a cost-efficient way of scaling voice services and offering a foolproof presence between interexchange carriers.
Class 4 Softswitch solutions come with a laundry list of features that have turned VoIP services more profitable thanks to efficient routing and billing. What’s more, being a robust, scalable, and consistent solution, the Softswitch can easily manage and control VoIP calls, signaling, and every other aspect of large-scale VoIP calling.
