People have mentioned it before already about what Soap's tattoo is, but I just want to point this out...
↑ Soap's tattoo. Which is Call of Duty's fictional SAS emblem.
↓Real Life SAS emblem/statuette/and motto.
↓ Price's last words for Soap...
So basically, I looked up what "Who dares wins" meant because I thought it was a bit stupid and potentially grammatically incorrect. It's a shorter way of saying "He who dares, wins". (Which sounds so much better)
Meaning, that if you dare to try you may find yourself winning even if you fail first. (Basically)
Found out that it was the SAS's motto too. Figured they wouldn't have one but apparently they did.
The more you know.
I'm going to make this sappy but snappy.
So. That matches with what they say about Soap "He'd fight the world barehanded" and "He was the best of us", since his death was super disappointing I guess we weren't really meant to take this seriously but basically, he's ✨brave✨ (. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)c
I mean yeah, he's also ALREADY had to fight barehanded. That was the minor point of the Alone mission but whatever.

huh, accidentally clicked on the Legacy Angela page in the LobCorp wiki, and apparently there was a beta version of LobCorp and the Sephirot had a very different artsyle, and the Asiyah Sephirot + Tiphereth A and B had different designs, plus we found a video of the cutscenes from it and the cutscene sprites were animated.

A fragment of a marble slab with an inscription, believed to date from the time of Roman Emperor Septimius Severus, has been found at the site of a demolished house in Bulgaria’s city of Plovdiv.
Septimius Severus was Roman Emperor from 193 to 211 CE.
The find was made at the site of a house at 17 Metropolitan Panaret Street that had been demolished. The developer contacted the Regional Archaeological Museum in Plovdiv.
The fragment measures 70 x 40cm and was found at a depth of about 1.6 metres.
Archaeologist Dessislava Davidova told Bulgarian National Radio that over the centuries, the marble had been used as part of building material.
BNR reported that Dr Nikolai Sharankov, a specialist in classical languages and epigraphy, was consulted and said that the fragment was most likely part of an inscription on the pedestal of a statue dating from the time of Emperor Septimius Severus.
The inscription mentions the name of the distinguished citizen Veranius, tribune and high priest of the imperial cult in Philippopolis, an ancient name of Plovdiv in antiquity.
Sharankov said that Veranius most likely belonged to the local Thracian aristocracy, obtained Roman citizenship and was included in the Roman equestrian class and thus began his career in the Roman army and he reached the position of military tribune.
From the inscription it is understood that Veranius organised gladiator fights.
Sharankov said that the dating was done according to the specific font of the inscription, characteristic of the time of Emperor Septimius Severus.
A rare and valuable ring has been found during the National History Museum's (NIM) regular archaeological excavations at the Kokalyanski Urvich Fortress' citadel. The archaeological team, led by Dr Filip Petrunov (National Archaeological Institute with Museum with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences)and Violina Kiryakova (NIM), believe the silver ring with gold plating belonged to an aristocrat from the second half of the 14th century, the National Archaeological Institute said.
The ring was found in grave No. 9 at a depth of 1.10 m under the floor of a medieval church. Depicted on the ring is an eagle, a symbol of the royal power in Veliko Tarnovo and an indication of the owner's connection to the family of King Ivan Alexander of Bulgaria. Also depicted is a rosette, which symbolizes continuity and ancestral memory.
A total of twelve graves have been uncovered at the medieval church thus far, two of which were robbed back in the 16th century./BTA

08/06-24 World Ocean Day / Coastal Cleanup
This year the coastal cleanup day was on the same day as world ocean day. My plan was to visit the same "beach" area I cleaned up last year, but the water was too high, and the unusual heat we had in May made all the greenery explode in growth. So, I started walking along the water and to my surprise, things were really clean!! I saw a few things I couldn't safely reach, but that was it really. The only thing I picked up was a pen that I could just bring directly to a trash can.
This was a massive surprise! I picked up several bags just on that little beach last year, and the year before that I think I got 3 bags along this same stretch along the water. I'm not sure if someone else has been cleaning up, or if things are just generally cleaner now somehow? Anyway, I had to change my plans. So I took the bus to an area on the mainland where I'd never been before. Confirmed that there were trash cans nearby before I got a bag started.
This was one of the first things I encountered. I think someone must've picked this up while magnet fishing? Sadly not something I could take with me since I don't have a car, so I hope whoever fished it up comes back for it.
Other than the metal junk, a pallet, and various tiny items, this stretch was also really clean! I mostly just picked up cigarette butts, and a random glass jar. In the end I barely got half a bag. I had packed 5 bags, and I was afraid I hadn't packed enough lol. This was the first time I've gone out and barely found any litter. Gotta admit I was a bit disappointed I didn't get to do more on this day, because I know there are places that need to be cleaned, and I managed to only visit the clean ones! But I know I should focus on being happy that I didn't need to pick up bags and bags of litter along the water.

Most Pokemon models in the Pokemon Stadium series are reused from previous generations, typically with little to no changes. Here is a rare(ish) example of a model that changed between games.
Wigglytuff on the far left is from the Japanese exclusive Pokemon Stadium 1 (some fans call it Pocket Monsters Stadium)
The one in the middle is from Pokemon Stadium 2, and the far right one is from Pokemon Colosseum
There are differences in body shape, eye distance, eye stylization, and how far the belly white extends. Which one is your favorite?

I want to emphasize something about the dungeon meshi ages.
So Senshi is 35-36 here, yeah? The dwarven age of maturity is 40, and he’s just shy of it.
When Chilchuck was just shy of his race’s age of maturity, he had a kid and got married. He was 13, and the half-foot age of maturity is 14.
So, developmentally-wise, THIS is how old Chilchuck was when he became a father:
This is even further emphasized with Izutsumi. She’s 17 (and actually turns 18 during the faligon feast), older than the tallman age of maturity, and still reads VERY immature to the audience. By the time Chilchuck was Izutsumi’s relative age, he was already on his third kid and had moved away from home to the city.
Imagine Izutsumi being a parent of three. Imagine Senshi having a child of his own when he was with the miners.
Like. Chilchuck was young young.
#i find it so interesting!!! what a compelling trait to give a character!!!#it clearly fucked him up and we’re seeing the repurcussions of that!!#dungeon meshi#dungeon meshi spoilers#senshi of izganda#chilchuck tims#izutsumi#photos
