🏥🚑😵‍💫The worst happened Friday. Some of my pictures showing my reality right now.
The day before my birthday wasn’t that bad after all. This Friday, I had one of the most difficult day of my life. I got rushed to hospital again for severe intercoastal neuralgia. What’s happening is a nerve being squeezed and inflamed in upper spine, sending a wild message overwhelming my brain. In such extreme pain, it triggered 5 major seizures they could hardly get me out of. 🫨😵‍💫
I never had that many seizures in such a short period of time since I’m born. I should be ok. I’m in ICU.

On oxalates, emotions, self-protection, autism and releasing: a hypothesis
Those of you who have dipped into my blog before will know that I have written about oxalates a number of times and and am in the process of detoxifying my entire system from a life-long propensity to store oxalates (shard and needle-like crystals) from common food sources in the body, a trait that has is strongly associated with autism and which can cause the widespread kind of chronic pain that…

Two fascinating covers I found on ebay recently.
Left, the only actually published cover that (to my knowledge) features any version of Humbert SOLO (there are two that were part of a design contest but not actually published). It really does give the whole thing a different vibe and reads MUCH more "prison memoir" (as it should).
Right, while it does have a girls body parts (audience booing) she at least looks like an actual child and not massively sexualized. I also love that this picks up on Nabokov's anecdote from the Afterword:
"The first little throb of Lolita went through me late in 1939 or early in 1940, in Paris, at a time when I was laid up with a severe attack of intercostal neuralgia. As far as I can recall, the initial shiver of inspiration was somehow prompted by a newspaper story about an ape in the Jardin des Plantes, who, after months of coaxing by a scientist, produced the first drawing ever charcoaled by an animal: this sketch showed the bars of the poor creature’s cage."

I'm gonna snap and cry and kill myself I need to buy a cane I can't DO IT ANYMORE
when I was born my hip joints weren't fully formed and I had to be in a corset for almost two years. my mother has just recently told me about it and SUDDENLY all of my hip pains started making sense! I needed to be observed by orthopedic doctor for my whole life and the last visit I can recall happened when I was approximately seven years old! and it was for fucking feet pads because apparently one of my feet is shorter than the other! and it's still visible! but no one has ever given the slightest amount of fuck! and now my hips are aching like hell after I stand still for 30 minutes! and after a whole 12h shift of standing, walking and occasional sitting in shitty uncomfortable chair I can barely walk! not even mentioning this abomination of a chair also hurts my back and I've experienced intercostal neuralgia thrice in the span of last six days, while before my internship it was happening like once a month!

All this was on my mind one Thursday evening after class as I was looking at the diaries my girls had left behind, with their new essays and poems. At the start of our class, I had asked them to describe their image of themselves. They were not ready then to face that question, but every once in a while I returned to it and asked them again.
Now, as I sat curled up on the love seat, I looked at dozens of pages of their recent responses. I have one of these responses in front of me. It belongs to Sanaz, who handed it in shortly after her jail experience at the seaside. It is a simple drawing in black and white, of a naked girl, the white of her body caught in a black bubble. She is crouched in an almost fetal position, hugging one bent knee. Her other leg is stretched out behind her. Her long, straight hair follows the same curved line as the contour of her back, but her face is hidden. The bubble is lifted in the air by a giant bird with long black talons. What interests me is a small detail as opposed to the more obvious imagery of the girl, the bubble and the girl’s hand that reaches out of the bubble and holds on to the talon. Her subservient nakedness is dependent on that talon, and she reaches out to it.
The drawing immediately brought to my mind Nabokov’s statement in his famous afterword to Lolita about how the “first little throb of Lolita” went through him in 1939 or early 1940, when he was ill with a severe attack of intercostal neuralgia. He recalls that “the initial shiver of inspiration was somehow prompted by a newspaper story about an ape in the Jardin des Plantes, who, after months of coaxing by a scientist, produced the first drawing ever charcoaled by an animal: this sketch showed the bars of the poor creature’s cage.”
The two images, one from the novel and the other from reality, reveal a terrible truth. Its terribleness goes beyond the fact that in each case an act of violence has been committed. It goes beyond the bars, revealing the victim’s proximity and intimacy with its jailer. Our focus in each is on the delicate spot where the prisoner touches the bar, on the invisible contact between flesh and cold metal.

FunFact: intercostal neuralgia, the pain in your chest that makes u think you're having a heart attack, is actually just a nerve that gets stuck behind your rips
So moving the wrong way for example can get these lovely nerves stuck and will force you to feel pain that'll make you see jesus.
Stretching your whole upper body usually gets the job done in getting this stupid nerve unstuck

haven’t felt a reason to write here in a bit and i was thankful for that.
i don’t feel understood. i feel alone and like i’m hurting. it’s all very far away, a storm while you’re locked in the bathroom, too busy throwing up to appreciate the lightning. it’s hailing all over your tomatoes and the puke’s coming out of your nose.
pulled out the dilator kit from under the bed and used that while staring at a wall. piercing pain and tears falling down my face in perfect silence. i feel like i bared the ugliest parts of myself to someone and tricked myself into thinking he loved them.
i felt my soul shivering and crouching inside the pit of itself. it’d be best to keep things respectfully distant until i fly there. the “one in a lifetime” relationship, the soulmate thing, it was just what i wanted to hear, not what he can actually guarantee.
i was doing it to myself and i still feel violated. i felt the pain burn in my belly, stinging in my pelvis, drooling down to my thighs, prickly like needles from hip to knee.
will i ever stop viewing it as punishment if i keep going like this? am i so selfish in all other areas that i should just give in to this? how do i learn how to not be resentful, when i internalised long ago that the pain wouldn’t exist without them.
the bigger one feels like intercostal neuralgia. i’m dramatic enough to feel it in my ribs. i bit my palm while fighting to keep it in with the other one, knowing he’s gonna break things off.
i’m stupid for having opened my mouth today. should have just kept shoving stuff in the superior hole and filming it. there’s such a thing as too much honesty. i’d be able to live my whole life just raking my fingers through his hair, but i don’t know if he could.

Newer Technologies For Pain Relief: Freezing Of Nerves (Cryoablation)
Tumblr media
What is cryoablation?
Imagine being able to freeze nerves to minus 80 degrees Celsius to manage pain. This isn’t science fiction; it’s a reality with cryoablation. The term "cryoablation" breaks down to "cryo" meaning cold and "ablation" meaning destruction. This innovative, minimally invasive technique uses extreme cold to temporarily disable nerve function and reduce pain. Cryoablation interrupts pain signals transmitted to the brain, providing an alternative to traditional nerve destruction methods like alcohol neurolysis or surgery, in certain situations.
Which type of pain conditions can be treated using this technology?
Cryoablation is effective for a variety of common pain conditions, including:
Acute and Post-Surgery Pain: Used for pain associated with surgeries such as hernia repair, rib fractures, thoracotomy (chest surgery), mastectomy (breast surgery), shoulder surgery, and knee replacement surgery.
Musculoskeletal pain such as shoulder or knee pain secondary to arthritis.
Shoulder pain: arthritis, rotator cuff repair, adhesive capsulitis, bursitis.
Knee pain: osteoarthritis, persistent post-surgical pain.
Hip pain: osteoarthritis, avascular necrosis, trochanteric bursitis.
Chest pain: Post-rib fracture and persisting costochondritis pain.
Chronic longstanding painconditions such as
Chest wall pain: Including post thoracotomy, post herpetic (after herpes zoster infection) pain, and pain originating from chest nerves (intercostal Neuralgia).
Chronic groin and pelvic pain: Including genital pain.
Headache disorders: with favourable response to nerve blocks such as the Occipital, supraorbital or supratrochlear nerves.
Phantom Limb Pain:common after amputation.
Nerve (Neuropathic) pain such as headaches from occipital Neuralgia or thigh pain form meralgia paresthetica, neuroma pain after amputation. Neuromas including Morton’s and Stump neuromas.
Spinal pain: such as from the arthritis of spinal joints (facet joint pain) in neck, middle of back, lower back, and pelvis joints (Sacroiliac Joints)
Chronic post-surgical pain (CPSP)- Post-surgical pain secondary to nerve injuries and entrapments in scar tissue or mesh can be treated with cryoablation. It is frequently used for treating persisting pain after chest wall, hernia, and amputation surgery.
Cancer pain: Localized to a nerve or region, particularly in cases of tumor infiltration of nerves. Has been used for pain related to abdominal, pelvic, and thoracic neoplasms.

For seniors, common health issues revolve around joint and bone problems like spinal osteophytes, degeneration, back pain, and intercostal neuralgia. Hence, a moderately elastic, comfortable mattress can provide better support and aid in achieving deeper, more restful sleep.

Here are some symptoms and the like that Blackclover most likely experienced (and continues to experience in the afterlife). I think he has intercostal neuralgia because it can be caused by trauma to the chest.

ooc; apologise for all the slow repiles. My Intercostal neuralgia has been playing up this last week or so and I'm finding it a bit hard to stay sat on the computer too long. I've queued some replies for tomorrow, but most probably will be Friday or Sat before the next round. I'll be on DM's, hugs x

Arsenicum album is used in homeopathy to treat a wide range of respiratory conditions, including hay fever, colds, and flu. Hydrastis canadensis is a popular remedy for thick, tenacious secretion from the posterior nares to throat. It helps relieve watery, excoriating discharge, smarting, and rawness, as well as sinus headaches. Kalium bichromicum is effective for treating thick, ropy, greenish-yellow discharge, tough, elastic plugs from the nose, and inflammation that extends to frontal sinuses with distress and fullness at the root of the nose. Loss of smell is also a common symptom treated by Kalium bichromicum.
Pulsatilla nigricans is useful for treating chronic bland yellow discharge and coryza, which is better going out in the open air. It is an excellent remedy for children who develop catarrh due to changing weather conditions.
Bakson B22 Drops are easy to use. Simply take ten drops in lukewarm water three times a day. In acute cases, take ten to fifteen drops in lukewarm water, 2 hourly, 6 times a day, or as prescribed by a physician. The drops have no known side effects and can be used safely by people of all ages.

B33 is recommended for cough, B40 for pleurisy, B29 for intercostal neuralgia, and B51 for hoarseness and catarrh of the larynx. Bakson Throat Aid tablets can also be helpful in treating throat-related issues.

Intercostal Neuralgia in Manhattan, NY
Tumblr media
Intercostal neuralgia refers to irritation or inflammation of the tiny nerves that run along each rib of the thoracic spine. Inflammation of these nerves can result in sharp shooting pain that is worse with twisting, bending, and deep breaths. The intercostal nerves are small branches of the thoracic nerve roots. These nerves run between the ribs and can be damaged in various ways. The most common cause is cardiothoracic surgery, during which a nerve can be inadvertently damaged.
