HOUSE DAYN.E: SWORN TO MARTELL.

House Dayne of Starfall is a noble house from Starfall in Dorne. They are among the principal houses sworn to House Martell. The Sword of the Morning is a title given to a Dayne knight who is considered worthy of wielding the greatsword Dawn, a blade said to be created from the heart of falling star. House Dayne are also known for their unique eye color, purple or lilac or sometimes dark blue, something they share with the Targaryens though it's unknown if this indicates Valyrian ancestry.

Hi! I'm not dead!

Just had a busy, BUSY year on my head, with little to no time for this blog except for my fanfic update and the queue. So, time for a lil update, and a fanfic recap of 2024!

Hi, I'm Math! I still love warhammer, but I am branching out to other fandom slowly but certainly! I am also publishing original work, both online and IRL. No, yall with not get my IRL stuff. I adore writing more than anything, and in spite of a capricious mental health for the last year (yeah, that's not fun), I still manage! Here are my last year fanfic work:

Counting Stars: the sequel to my soulmate au!!!!! Oh my GOD I was happy to publish to one!!!! My soulmate au is still probably my favorite fanfic I ever wrote, and I cannot be more proud. This one is also super interesting, because it's Mort interacting with various chaos people! So far we have only seen Lorgar, but Fulgrim, Perty and Magnus are incomming.... and a Certain favorite doctor of mine ;)

Supraglottoplasty (softening the larynx): My lord. That fucking fic is probably the most explicot thing I have ever done lmaooo. Fabius fuck eidolon in a neck wound. They are both happy. First fic with that pairing on ao3 lmao!! It was a delight to write

Tender is The Flesh: .... Ngl, this is my *best* writing. Ever. I'm almost mad that it's a fanfic. It's a horror story about Sang comming back to life. It's.... Well. It sure is gory!!! A lot of people loved it, and it was a gift for a dear friend, Allyria. Only took two years to write lmao

Agency: Updated with the Ferrus chapter!!! Oh my god the people were HAPPY about that one, and so was I!!!! I truly loved that fic, and while it is still ongoing, it's slowly reaching conclusion! Aaaaaaah!!!

Northern Lights: My summer fic exchange fic!! T4T Lorgar/Leman and oh my god is it a tender and sweet fiiiiiic. I loved writing it so much :D! Very funny tho that me and LepetitMonstre got each others and basically wrote the same theme. Two cakes!!!

A different Perspective: The Uriel/Honsou arranged marriaged fic!!!! Gaaaaasp! Yes, I did update it, with 50% more terrible SM cooking, and IW home improvement! We are going in a different fandom.... The Mothwashing fandom!!! A Jim/Curly medical-ish non-con fic, with a lot of self hatred and weird ugly feels. I love it. If you want some good angst, try it!

40k's Dracula: The spiritual sequel to my Phantom of the Opera au. Primarch, but it's epistolary Dracula! Oh my! How scandalous!!! It's also super fucking gay, not a straight to be seen. Special mention to Amit, who I have written for the first time and is an adorable grumpy vampire!

In Absence: and finally.... My original work. Technically posted in 2025, but started in 2024. It's on Royal Road, because it's not fanwork and I wouldn't do that to Ao3. It's basically a grimdark Isekai, about a poor woman falling into a fantasy world, and realising that death means nothing in it. It just started and will be quite long, but it has all my usual themes, like violence, sadness, and Mysterious Hot Queer People who will Ruin Your Life. It would mean the world to me if you give it a try!

So, that's it! That's what I did, for the year 2024, and I am more than happy to share it with you, and so much more for 2025!!!!

          Walking through the gardens of Starfall castle, Lady Regant Allyria Dayne wondered where her dearly beloved nephew is and praying to the gods that he isn’t injured while he is with her betrothal, Lord Beric Dondarrion. As she walked around in the gardens, one of her maids, Tila, came rushing over, and Allyria looked up as she arrived. “Lady Allyria,” she paused, catching her breath. “I’m sorry for interrupting your walk but you have a guest.” 

A guest, Allyria thought. She hadn’t received any ravens that she was expecting guests at Starfall. “Who is this guest, Tila?” She questioned, wanting to know who she is going to be speaking with. 

“A septa, my lady. She says her name is Septa Lemore.” Tila responded. “She is placed in the solarium.” A septa, this could be either really good or really bad, but no matter, Allyria wanted to be a good hostess and not keep her surprise guest waiting. “Thank you, Tila. Please go and fetch us some food and wine.” Allyria ordered. Tila nodded her head and took off to the kitchens, as Allyria herself made her way back into the castle and to the solarium.

Allyria pushed the doors opened and entered the room, apologising for her tardiness. “My apologises, Septa Lemore, is it? I did not know that we were expecting guests.”

Blythe found the company of their sister comforting, their closeness forged with trust and acceptance. It is Allyria that Blythe went to for matters of the heart, though that was quite rare. They hoped that she was willing to talk about her own heart this time as well. The maze offered enough privacy to ask quietly,“How do you feel after the favors?” Their sister’s match may not have been love, but the two were still to be wed eventually. The public nature of it all must have stung, the younger Princess thought.

Jaehaerys loved Dorne. He loved the lemon trees, the heat of Dorne was not too humid nor too dry. The beautiful architecture never seemed to get boring either. Being under the name of Vorian Sand, a bastard of House Dayne from a Lysnei woman made him fly unnoticed by many who would want the Targaryen dead and he was dreading meeting the Martells. He knew full well how House Martell interacted with his families house, which he had been dreading since he had fled his home in Kings Landing to Dorne. 

“Prince Dorian, Prince Oberyn, Princess Arianne, Prince Quentyn” Jaehaerys greeted as the Lord of Starfall, his son Edric and Allyria had done the same. His dark purple eyes that matched his elder brother Rhaegars couldn’t meet the eyes of the Great House members and the Lord of Starfall motioned for him to stay behind while he, Allyria and Dorian and Oberyn talked. “Prince Viserys has perished so accounts from across the sea say” Jaehaerys heard Dorian say as the older adults went to walk away and while he tried to hide his emotions of the loss of a brother he had hardly any time with, he found his facial expression to be sad. 

“I brought orange bread” Jaehaerys offered after a moment of being alone with the Martell children as he unwrapped the bread that smelt of citrius and had an orange glaze over the pale yellow-brown bread.

Princess Shireen Baratheon: Shireen Baratheon is a noblewoman of House Baratheon of Dragonstone, and is the daughter and only child of Lord Stannis Baratheon and Lady Selyse Florent. Greyscale has left half of her left cheek and most of her neck covered in cracked and flaking, grey and black stony skin. She has suffered from nightmares since infancy. Stannis's army and retinue travels from Dragonstone to the Wall to respond to the wildling threat. At the Wall, he leaves Shireen at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea with her mother, while his army marches to Castle Black. After her father's death, she remains in the North under The North care and request to be send to Dorne to her cousin, wanting to refute her father's claims about Myrcella. Canon. Song Era.

Lord Edric Dayne: Edric Dayne, also known as Ned, is the Lord of Starfall and the head of House Dayne. His father, Gwayne Dayne is the elder brother of Ser Arthur, Lady Ashara, and Lady Allyria Dayne. Edric serves as the squire of Beric Dondarrion, Lord of Blackhaven. Edric's mother did not have enough milk for him when he was born, so he was nursed by Wylla, a servant at Starfall. At some point, Edric was told that Wylla was the mother of Jon Snow, the bastard of Lord Eddard Stark. Edric attempts to befriend a wary Arya during the brotherhood's travels, and her friend Gendry is scornful of their interactions. Ned tells Arya more about his family, and he is surprised that her father never spoke of Edric's aunt Ashara committing suicide over her broken heart. Ned hesitantly tells Arya that his aunt Allyria told him that Ashara and Eddard fell in love at the tourney at Harrenhal. Edric is back in Dorne. Canon. Song Era.

Edric Storm: Edric Storm is the bastard son of King Robert I Baratheon and Delena Florent. Edric is a sturdily attractive youth, with jet-black hair and deep blue eyes. He resembles his father, King Robert I, and has the characteristic hair, eyes, jaw, and cheekbones of House Baratheon. Edric also has the large ears common to House Florent. Edric was conceived by King Robert I Baratheon and Delena on the wedding night of Lord Stannis Baratheon to Selyse Florent, Delena's cousin, in the couple's wedding bed. Stannis saw this as an insult to his honor, so he sent Edric to Storm's End to foster with the boy's other uncle, Renly Baratheon. As Delena was a noblewoman, Edric was acknowledged by his father. Edric sails across the narrow sea past the Stepstones to Essos on the Mad Prendos with Andrew and other protectors. He is hiding in Lys. Canon. Song Era.

Mya Stone: Mya Stone is a young woman serving House Royce of the Gates of the Moon. She is the eldest of King Robert I Baratheon's bastards. Mya serves as a guide on the treacherous rocky climb from the Vale to the Eyrie, leading trains of mules, such as Whitey. She also transports foodstuffs from the foot of the Giant's Lance to the Eyrie. Mya is somewhat openly known to be the bastard daughter of the king, although she was not acknowledged by her father. She has vague memories of him, as a big strong man tossing her in the air and catching her. Myranda Royce reveals to "Alayne Stone" that Mya lost her virginity to Mychel. Mya still hoped for marriage, till the newly-knighted Mychel was ordered by his father, Lord Horton Redfort, to marry Ysilla Royce, daughter of Lord Yohn Royce of Runestone. Canon. Song Era.

Gendry Baratheon: Gendry is a blacksmith apprentice for Master Tobho Mott in King's Landing. He does not know he is a bastard son of King Robert I Baratheon until later when captured by Melisandre and the truth is revealed, his blood used in a ritual. Gendry looks like a young Renly Baratheon, albeit with a squarer jaw, bushier brows, and tangled hair. He has since been legitimized and inherited all titles held by his father before Robert became king, and appointed the new Warden of the South. Gendry is not the eldest of the bastards and by all means, he supports his "sister" Myrcella for lady of Storm's End but he also reclaims his sibligns as his own, rebuilding House Baratheon under a new sigil, changing the colors to the inverted ones, considering the house is now mostly bastards. Joy Hill: She is the bastard daughter of Gerion Lannister. According to her cousin Jaime, Joy is a sweet child, but a lonely one since her father Gerion disappeared. As part of the pact between Lord Tywin Lannister and Lord Walder Frey concerning the betrayal of Robb Stark in the Red Wedding, Joy is to wed a natural son of Walder from House Frey once she is older. After the siege of Riverrun, Lady Sybell Spicer mentions to Ser Jaime Lannister that his late father, Tywin, had promised a bride from Casterly Rock for her eldest son, Ser Raynald Westerling. Because Sybell mentions "joy", Jaime thinks Tywin intended for Joy Hill to marry Raynald. Sybell is angered at the idea of her son marrying a bastard. Joy would prefer the handsom Raynald as a husband. Eventually, Joy is send to Dorne alongside Myrcella new sworn sword so she would become less gloom and safety. Canon. Song Era.

honestly i love quite a bit about asoiaf despite how much time i spent complaining about things lmao

probably THE favourite thing for me is the politics with the magical elements (especially the horror ones like whatever the hell is going on with Euron and the Nightfort) being a close second. I also love love love the various characters interactions with their religions/what they think about god/s

'Inverting the Arthur and Guinevere dynamic' sounds like a very interesting setting when it comes to Arwen and Rhaegar. Should they not get married together because of reasons/Aerys' insane logic, how does it influence their interactions? Arwen would have to get married in short order, so who would be the groom? My mind went toward Jon Connington so they can daydream about Rhaegar together, but... that'd probably be pushing (though Arwen helping raise Aegon also has me thinking).

Well years later her sister Allyria is slated to wed a Dondarrion so maybe the Dayne lord would be thinking of a Stormlander match for Arwen, so if not a Baratheon or Connington then a Caron, Blackmont, Grandison, Swann, etc or even a Reacher marcher lord like a Tarly or Selmy?

It would be super funny if she had married Jon Conn and then went into exile with him and they wind up raising Aegon who is this vaguely Mordred like figure in one possible interpretation.

In her life there were only a handful that she would call a genuine friend when her pride and haughtiness more often than not stood in the way of forging any last bonds with another. Still, there were some who slipped through the cracks in her defences enough that she found them worthy of her time and care - a privilege extended with such rarity there were times that she forgot there were some outside her family who commanded her respect.

Courtesies had been what had made her extend the hand of polite friendship to the Dornish woman, hearing of a betrothal that would have made them neighbours should it have come to pass.  Ravens exchanged had fostered a bond between the two of them and the Velaryon felt somewhat protective over the other woman despite them being the same in age.

Violet eyes spot the woman among the hoards, smile tugging at at pretty lips at the sight of someone familiar. “Allyria.” Lyrical tones leave her lips to carry through the hubbub, with lithe steps closing the distance between the two of them. “When word reached me of your arrival I found my spirits most cheered.” Arm stretched out gracefully to link with the other woman’s, the contact delicate but still a show of friendship and solidarity. “There are so few friendly faces among lions and wolves.”
