🐺 ANIMAL WISDOM 🐦 . Today I want to show you two more paintings I recently created from different Life Book 2021 Taster Sessions . They may be totally different in terms of color, style and supplies, but both are meant to reflect and create intentionally, to receive messages from or through these animals, that are associated with wisdom . The first one is "Eagle's Wisdom" from the session with @melanie2_rivers and the second one is "Fox Wisdom" inspired by @willowing . Which piece speaks more to you? Green means go. There’s nothing quite like getting the go ahead when heading to a brand new destination. Many of us have superstitions: if you walk under a ladder you will have bad luck or if you don’t pick up that penny you won’t have good luck. Mine is, “always take the photo when it’s a green light.” If I’m photographing a scene where traffic lights are involved, I try to wait for a green light. Next phase of my Water Prayer//Ganesha Yantra is in the works. Hoping to have this done within a week or two, and praying that's enough time to still raise some money to help our brothers and sisters at Standing Rock. Please remember that today there are thousands of Natives being brutally attacked as they fight for you to have clean water. "Thanksgiving" is a day remembered by many as the day colonials began their genocide against an indigenous culture, and we have since raped and pillaged THEIR land and rights. Today, many Natives of many tribes stand together at Standing Rock, mourning their ancestors whom have been lost to similar fights, and today I mourn with them and pray for the safety and strength and success of the current generation facing this Western oppression. I refuse to wish anyone a "Happy Thanksgiving," because today is NOT a day of happiness, and I don't see many people giving thanks to the ones that are out there fighting for our human rights. I can't give thanks to ideals that are founded on the basis of genocide and racism, and I won't give thanks for a system that is killing us and our Earth. I give thanks to the Water Protectors and spirits which guide them on this sacred and dangerous journey. I give thanks for those keeping hope alive for true change, but I do this every single day, for not one single day can be designated for giving thanks moreso than each precious day we live. "Thanksgiving" marks the first of many treaties our ancestors have brokered and broken with the natives, yet we allow our schools to teach kids this was a peaceful day. Today marks the first of many bloody battles in which our ancestors annihilated a treasured culture, and a race of people who lived by the Earth, as we all should be doing. So, please, remember today there are thousands of people fighting to change the world and bring it back to sacred, Gaia-based roots.
