Karvanista, Dan, Diane, Bel, and Vinder make such a good team.
I do wonder about Dan though, because when we first see him IN the Doctor's TARDIS he mentioned he had a friend who has the same type of ship as the TARDIS. Considering Karvanista used to be Fugitive Doctor's companion, and Karvanista is bonded with Dan, does that mean he traveled with them before and just forgot about it because Division erases memories???

Wait. Saw someone in the tags of that Jacob Anderson as Inston Vee Vinder gifset say that they thought Vinder was the Doctor's father (and therefore Bel who is pregnant during Flux their mother). Wait. It kinda could make sense? We don't know much about the civilisation Vinder and Bel come from except that it's an old, bureaucratic and unstable one that got decimated by the Flux + Vinder appears through a wormhole in the Power of the Doctor episode (when Thirteenth regenerates). And the Timeless Child is found under a wormhole. Imagine the little family of Vinder, Bel, their child going to explore wormholes, getting lost through time (the association wormhole/time travel is an old one) and Vinder and Bel getting lost/dead/etc trying to find their way back and only their child survives. And because the child was exposed to wormholes since their birth or maybe the people Vinder and Bel come from have some particularities but that's why the timeless child has regenerative powers. And maybe that's why Thirteenth comes across both of them during the Flux despite all probabilities, because they're her parents in the future that is her past and the fabric of space-time continuum knows they have to survive and the best odds of survival are with the Doctor. And maybe that's why Vinder comes across the Doctor once again when he's starting to explore wormhole technology, because the universe knew he needed the Doctor's saving and expertise to lead him to continue his exploration and along the line to the timeless child.
I'm way too tired to make it more logical but there's something to explore here. And in any way, I would very much love to see more of Vinder and Bel in future episodes.

When a British film or show acquires a sufficient number of Doctor Who alumni--including those who later go on to appear in Who, we accept timey-wimeyness here--that project automatically becomes a Doctor Who parallel universe. Currently rewatching Broadchurch, and it's making my head spin. Like, what do you mean there are three Doctors running around this beach side community (most likely with multiple chameleon arches involved)? The Thirteenth Doctor's son was just murdered, and her daughter is secretly dating Inston-Vee Vinder. The Tenth (or is it the Fourteenth?) Doctor and one of the coma patients from "The Eleventh Hour" are leading the investigation. The First Doctor runs the newsagent, Rory Williams is the vicar, and Psi from "Time Heist" writes for the local paper. I don't know what's happening in this town, but the universe is definitely in peril!

11th and 12th doctors don't build shit.. They don't build clever machines to get themselves out of trouble or to track stuff or to get things done
like, i love 12, and i tolerate 11, but they're more big and grand gestures and then everything works out. 11 has some moments in his first season, but they're like.... ehhh. He does some stuff with that guy's computer and writes a code, and he uses non technological technology i guess in the James corden episode
but 9 and 10 and 13, they're building they're tinkering they have gadgets and gizmos
9 built the delta wave and guided mickey through saving the world with a missile and a phone. He reversed teleports and got the surfboard thing from the slitheen hooked up to the tardis and everything
10 has so so many gizmos! The timey wimey detector, the zygon finder, the ghost scanner stuff, he makes the cure for all the illnesses on new earth,
13 builds her own sonic screwdriver, she messes with inston vee vinders ship to fix it, reformats ryan's phone, and is tinkering and messing with stuff all over the place!
The doctor needs to be a tinkery person! I wanna see them get messy and all up in the wires and build their own gizmos that don't work quite right!!!
14 and 15 have shown some of this, we saw 14 climbing all over the buttons in the meep's ship! 15 built anti mavity gloves and learnt the language of rope! things are looking up!!

Where are Bel and Vinder from? Our universe???
I'm down a rabbit-hole regarding The Flux's guest characters in relation to the Doctor's life pre-adoption.... so we know Bel and Vinder's planet was destroyed during the Flux series-- assuming their planet is in the same universe as "us" (the humans of the show)... but then, AFTER the event of the Flux, we see Vinder come back through a wormhole (from where he supposedly is from into OUR universe) when he was on a mission during TPOD, where he was then picked up by the Doctor/Yas...
Are we to assume that he and Bel are originally from a parallel universe within a multiverse? I'm so confused about how the space-time continuum works in terms of the origin of Bel/Vinder??? Are they from the same universe where the (historically) main characters of the show are? So why would Vinder travel through a wormhole to get to OUR universe in TPOD?? And why was he and Bel already in OUR universe during the Flux???
Tacteun mentioned during the Flux that the "next universe" is the other side of the wormhole where she found the Doctor as a baby.
Any other nerd wanna go down this rabbit hole to help me figure out? Cause again, Daniel Lewis mentioned that he has been in a TARDIS before meeting the Doctor... idk if it was a joke in passing, but considering the fact that he is Karvanista's human, then I don't doubt that at one point in pre-Hartnell Doctor's life, Karvanista and the Fugitive Doctor had already taken Daniel with them?
But anyway, which universe is Bel and Vinder from? OURS????? Or the other side of the wormhole where the Doctor was originally found by Tacteun??

ROUND 2 MASTERPOST
propaganda under the cut
Inston-Vee Vinder
no propaganda submitted
Grace Holloway
she might be the first companion to have a romantic storyline with the doctor. deserved better than one singular live action appearance. I hope she makes a come back. (anonymous)

Could you explain the grand serpent, please? What was his deal? What was he even in charge of? Why was he exiled? Why did he choose to come to earth? 🤔 Hope you lot are having a lovely gallifreyan day!! Praise Rassilon!
Who was the Grand Serpent?
The Grand Serpent was a prominent political figure, originally operating on the home planet of Inston-Vee Vinder. He was known for his ruthless and authoritarian approach to governance. He took great pleasure in exerting control and instilling fear, especially over those who dared to oppose him. He often used murder and manipulation to control his opponents.
Tumblr media
🐍 His Species
The Grand Serpent is quite obviously a title, and he is a 'rare' demi-species—a species composed of two living lifeforms. He had the ability to project a serpent-like creature from his body, which he could reabsorb at will. His exact origins remain a complete mystery.
👑 His Role
The specifics of his political role on Vinder's planet weren't entirely clear either. He appeared to be a significant political figure, possibly the leader or someone with considerable influence over the population. His actions suggested a level of authority that allowed him to make decisions impacting the entire planet.
🚫 His 'Exile'
How or why the Grand Serpent lost power on Vinder's planet is also a question mark. We don't know if he was formally exiled, or if he fled on his own accord after a fall from grace. However he left, he then set his sights on Earth for reasons that also remain unclear. There, under the alias 'Prentis,' he helped the newly formed UNIT organisation in 1958 and began manipulating events from behind the scenes, which eventually morphed into the frequent need to assassinate. Despite this significant meddling and frequent murdering, he somehow evaded the Doctor's usually sharp radar for at least 50+ years.
💀 His Death(?)
The Grand Serpent was eventually confronted by an annoyed Vinder and Kate-Lethbridge Stewart, who teamed up and met him in some tunnels under Liverpool. They forced him through a well-placed door, where he ended up stranded on a featureless asteroid and presumably died.
🏫 So ...
Ultimately, the Grand Serpent's story has a lot of unanswered questions and unclear motivations, which, to be fair, sounds about right for a politician.
