Episode 12 - The Little Mermaid
Letâs Talk About JSHK Anime #3
Warning: Manga spoilers for The Little Mermaid arc, The Clock Keeper arc, and chapter 64!!! (just a bit, skip point no. 5, 6, and 10 if you donât want to get spoiled) Also ⊠this ended up way longer than I intended.
Well that was one heck of a feels trip. Itâs probably my new favorite episode, just because everyone is here being wholesome lmao.
This is mostly hananene meta I ainât even gonna lie.
Before we begin, shout out to Black Canyon, our newest anime cutie pie. Just look at him, folks. Just chilling with his sunflower seed.
He has no idea the kind of life his owner leads.
I said before that the best part of episode 12 is how it made Daydream worse, so now Iâm gonna ramble about it.
âMaybe different species canât understand each other after all.â
âMaybe it would be better if I were an apparition too.â
This is my favorite part of the episode. And no, not in the sense that I want Nene to die just so that she and Hanako can be together. But because of how Lerche actually explored deeper what was said only once in the manga.
Well, both in the manga and anime Nene ended up accepting the mermaidâs blood because of her desire to be popular, but the anime decided to revisit what she said earlier in the episode.
Not only did that make her decision kinda less selfish, itâs also just ⊠sad. Thinking that your friend, someone you really cared about, doesnât trust you enough to tell you things about themselves, to the point where youâre willing to go to such lengths as turning into an apparition just to understand them.
And if you think about it, isnât this part of her true wish? To have her feelings be reciprocated? Man I just realized that as I wrote this and I am mindblown.
She thought she finally got her wish with Hanako. I mean, he said it himself in the first ep (âYou wanted someone, anyone, to return your feelings, right? And as far as youâre concerned, sharing a bond with someone is the same thing, right?â). So it mustâve hit her really hard when she thought he didnât trust her. Especially with all the wrong ideas the fishes were feeding her mind.
Then we got this little flashback. At first I was like, âGirl, you really be thinking that he doesnât care about you while recalling the moment he apologized to you and hugged you? Are you insane?â
But after some thinking of my own, it occurred to me. Maybe she was too used to having her feelings not reciprocated, she couldnât believe it when someone finally did. Not to mention Hanako did kinda trick her with his fake confession a while back (heh, heâs not the only one with trust issues, eh?). And that just made the entire thing even sadder.
So when Nene said, âBut I thought, if I were an apparition like you, I could get closer to you. Then, maybe Iâd be able to understand you, Hanako-kun. Although I know I probably donât mean anything to you.â
That was a harsh wake up call for Hanako.
(Btw even more full circle, Hanako brought up Neneâs wish to become human again in the first episode. Nice.)
So. We got one daikon girl whoâs afraid of not having her feelings reciprocated, and one ghost boy whoâs afraid that daikon girl wouldnât be his friend anymore if she knew about his past.
While in actuality, said daikon girl already decided she wanted to and would be his friend no matter what, and ghost boy had grown to care about her more than he thought he would.
He heard what she said to Tsuchigomori. He knew all about regret, too. I mean, honestly, I think if she had said no, heâd let her walk away right then and there, no questions asked. But she didnât.
Neneâs wish finally came true here. And the best part? It wasnât the work of magic or curses. Just Hanako finally shoving his fear aside, offering himself as he was, and letting her decide.
And she still chose to be with him.
Heh. Lemme just. Sob for a bit.
Is my hananene trash brain reading too much into this? Idk. Maybe.
So props to the production team for managing to add even more weight to this arc. Which, they had to, since itâs the season finale and all. But I love what they did!
Onto my commentaries!
1. The KouNene
Good shit. She was worried about him but he didnât want her to worry so he just smiled it off? These two are precious. Thought they were gonna interact. Sadly not. Buuuut! (see point 12)
2. Hanakoâs classroom visit
He. Is. So. Adorable. Someone please take his babey license away heâs too dangerous.
Hanakoâs classroom visit is like my absolute favorite clingy Hanako moment, so Iâm really happy I get to see it this season. Ugh. My kokoro. Hugging her from behind, that semi confession vibe ⊠Smooth mf.
The Mokke brushing Neneâs hair!!! The radish hairdo tho lmao.
On a sidenote, as a history nerd I appreciate that theyâre actually putting lessons in the background. And the teacher talked about Apollo 11 again??? While my boy was in the room? That ish both hurt and pleased me.
3. The Clock Keeper rumor drop
Heeeeeehhhhh? Whatâs thiiiiiissss?
4. This freaking thing
*flips table* Darn production team been knew Iâm hananene trash how dare they do this to me.
And lookie here thereâs Kodama chilling.
5. Fishies! (!!!manga spoiler for The Little Mermaid arc!!!)
Pufferfish didnât die. Well, good for him. Also I canât believe they just call the other fish âyeah yeahâ lmao what the freak. Has it always been like that in the manga?
6. AOI AND AKANE (!!!spoilers for chapter 64!!!)
I swear I did not intend this numbering coincidence.
*claps* Boi. Nene asking Aoi about cutting ties with someone sheâs interested in? And then Akane just swooped in and say heâd rather cut his head off than cut ties with Aoi? What about getting impaled, huh, boy? Would that do?
The not-so-subtle call out to these two pairsâ parallel? BOI.
7. Nene and Yako
These two just chilling together having girl talk, and Yako let Nene pet her? Thatâs some adorable shit right there. Admit it Yako you like her.
Yako also be really hitting home with what she said. It was extra heavy coming from her, considering what happened to her and Misaki. Boiiiiii.
8. Tsuchigomori
Oh my God, his laughter. Just ⊠oh my God.
Tsuchigomori in dad mode is always one of the highlights of the episode/chapter.
By the way, in this scene according to the sub, Nene asked Tsuchigomori who Tsukasa is. But she knew who he is already. Is it possible that the sub misinterpreted it? âCause I think what she actually meant was, âWhat happened to him and Tsukasa-kun in the past?â
If someone who speaks Japanese could share their wisdom, please do!
9. The 5 pm bell and twilight
Look how pretty they are!!!
Lo and behold, another important hananene interaction while the 5 pm bell plays in the background. Also, twilight? Yâall giving me Kimi no Na wa flashbacks.
âTwilight, when itâs neither day or night. When the world blurs and one might encounter something not human.â
Huh ⊠kinda fits the âboundaryâ concept but it still hurt.
Anyway they still had Hanako tell her what she already knew. And I did say in my âWalking Blindâ post that itâd be redundant. But since the episode kinda emphasized Neneâs desire to understand Hanako, having him actually tell her himself, even though she already knew it, was a big deal. Itâs not about what she knows, itâs about him opening up to her. So Iâm super cool with it.
10. The Broadcasting Club (!!!spoilers for The Clock Keeper arc!!!)
I love how Natsuhiko and Sakura are actually decent people. When he told Mitsuba that he was free to choose to stay with them or not? Thatâs solid, man. Though, of course, Tsukasa might not be as kind.
Speaking of, I know it couldnât be anything else, but Iâm still not sure if Tsukasaâs drawing was confirmation for season 2. Donât wanna get my hopes up. Imma just enjoy what I currently have.
Kinda curious, though. Because Clock Keeper wasnât Tsukasaâs doing. Maybe he was the one who released Mirai? But tbh Iâd prefer if it wasnât so. Because having more cases of supernaturals going loco without it being one of Tsukasaâs games is interesting, and kinda underlines the need of The Seven Wonders to keep supernaturals in check.
11. Kodama just chilling
12. The Adventures of Minamoto and the Summer Vegetables
You go, Kou! Iâm rooting for you oh my God youâre so precious.
And look at that ikemen smile! Him supporting Kou is just top notch sweet yâall I canât-
Ngl this was the biggest surprise of the episode. Teru finding out that summer vegetables = Nene? Broooooo. Interesting. I donât think this little addition warrants any changes to their future interaction, so it should be safe. Clever replacement, too, those veggies.
Itâs so sweet that Nene delivered those veggies to Kou! Just imagine the Minamoto family having veggies for dinner. Awww.
(Also, Nene wrote her name in hiragana instead of kanji. Is that a reference to how bad Kou is with kanji? Lol, so sweet)
13. The Coda!!!
Look at him. Just look at him. Look how lovesick he is yâall I canât-
THEYâRE SO ADORABLE.
All in all, I love this episode. Sorry for how long this post is. Iâm just dealing with so many feels right now. Gaaahhhhh.

Sen Ăal Kapımı / Edser ask from episode 43 (2x04)
AKA Serkanâs episode.Â
There is also speculation about episode 44 based on the fragmans and a few random asks
 (Asks under the cut)
Anonymous asked: Hey, Liza! How did you like the ep? I still get chills when watching the diary x video scene and the final one.. Finally the truth is out to both Serkan and Kiraz! And that fragman! đ but It seems like Aydan filing for custody will be the new drama, do you think it will last long? Because I highly doubt that they will give solely happy edser and Kiraz in remaining episodes..
My full episode thoughts are here,  but I agree the diary and video scene was spectacular. It makes me teary every time.Â
Iâm also psyched that the truth is out. Truthfully, I was one that wanted Serkan to find out at the end of the first episode, but now I concede that it was better to draw it out a bit to really build everything up to this episode and his journey to letting go of his fears. What a character arc they gave him. They really explored Serkan and what drives him this episode and it was a treat-- a painful treat-- to watch it all unfold and for him to finally admit what had driven him to push her away all those years ago and what was still holding him back in the present.Â
As for whatâs next, thatâs a great question. I agree that itâs unlikely weâre going to get happy Edser family from here on out, there has to be some obstacles and drama before we get to the end. The Aydan custody drama will clearly be the conflict in episode 5, but I donât see it as any real barrier for Eda and Serkan. We see in the second fragman that Eda is already confronting Serkan about it, so if Aydan is doing something underhanded they canât draw it out too long.Â
I assume that while the custody thing may cause a wee bit of miscommunication between Eda and Serkan, I think it mostly will serve as fodder for Aydan and Ayferâs relationship dynamic and give the supporting characters something to run around and chase after while Eda, Serkan and Kiraz actually start forming their new family unit. If anything it might serve as a catalyst for Serkan. Picture it, Eda confronts Serkan about it and Serkan is like âI donât know anything about that, I wouldnât do something that would hurt you or Kiraz, but I do want her, I want us.â You know, serve to clarify things. Â
There are probably a few episodes of family drama in store for us as everyone, including Eda, Serkan and Kiraz adjust to this new reality. I assume once the euphoria of having her Baba back wears off for Kiraz, she might ask some questions that are hard for Eda and Serkan to answer. We shall see.Â
Anonymous asked: i don't think i've cried THIS much at an sck episode... in like ever lmao. i was full on silent sobbing at serkan watching kiraz's baby videos.. but the scene i really loved the most was the one where they have it out after that fancy dinner. it was EVERYTHING we needed to hear serkan's POV and i almost can't believe a lot of us got the "can't have kids" theory right. i have loved so much this season how edser have communicated, even when it's painful and hard.. it was sorely missing for them.
I know! The communication! I donât think theyâve ever communicated like this. Of course their issues were not as deep and nuanced back in the first batch of episodes so going this in-depth wasnât necessary, but they didnât communicate like this when dealing with Babaanne or when it was really needed after the amnesia era. Â
Honestly, so pleased the âcanât have kidsâ theory was correct. It goes so far in explaining his actions and thought process when pushing her away, as distorted as that thought process was. It truly was selfless, because Iâm sure all he wanted was to hold her tight and never let go, but it was also so unnecessary. Their love story has just been so tragic, but if you think about how many things were stacked against them, itâs also stunning that their love has persevered. They were so opposite and unlikely to fall in love to begin with and then you add in all the things that stood in their way, meddling mothers, family secrets, Serkanâs father being responsible for her parents death, evil, rich, powerful grandmother using everything in her considerable arsenal to keep them apart, psycho stalkers, kidnapping princes, crashing planes, amnesia, brainwashing and abusive exes, plotting âfriends,â tumor, cancer, separation!
To come out of all of that and to see they are clearly still in love with one another... well they really donât have any other choice. They should get married immediately with no pomp and circumstance just so they are legally tied together. So when the next tragic, catastrophic thing comes along it will be that much harder to pull them apart. Â
Anonymous asked: deniz and burak are the most harmless "3rd party" characters we've ever had in the show that it almost makes me laugh when ppl get so insecure about them.. especially with burak, knowing that he's gonna be melo's love interest, even if i don't want it. like, sure serkan is naturally gonna be jealous, maybe possessive, because of "buba" but it's all being shown right now as light comedic relief.. i've seen some people REALLY take it to heart when it really doesn't seem like it's that deep lol.
I know, itâs all so mild. They also arenât actually even third party love interests, because there is absolutely zero interest from either side of the main pair. Both are there to a) serve plot purposes and b) show that neither Eda or Serkan is interested in anybody else. Itâs nice, we get to see that while they both have had options, neither has been able to move on and both have chosen to remain alone.Â
As for driving the plot, Burakâs presence was necessary because they needed someone who Serkan thought was Kirazâs father, and Deniz was necessary because they needed someone who would do whatever Serkan wanted when Serkan wanted to force proximity with Eda.Â
Looking at the fragman, the real âtriangleâ might be Buba - Kiraz - Baba but I also think that will mostly be played for laughs. A way to give us some âDrain the poolâ and âBurn the flowersâ type jealousy moments from Serkan, since that was a hallmark of Ayseâs early writing.Â
However, I can see why some folks were put-off by that vibe. Because, yes, if youâve been standing in as a male-figure for the 5-year-old daughter of the woman youâre tying to woo (letâs not pretend thatâs not why Burak takes such an interest in Kiraz) and the father that the 5-year-old has been wanting and pining for actually re-enters the picture, maybe you donât need to force your way in and have âBuba dayâ the day after he returns. Iâm not saying you canât have it ever again, Iâm saying you let the family have some alone time and figure things out. Anyone with any emotional intelligence would postpone such an outing. However, it looks like Serkan is not put off so easily and we know he doesnât lose, so it will probably lead to humorous scenes.Â
The good thing about this is that it shows that Serkan wonât sit passively by. Here Burak is giving him an out, Serkan can have his day back, go to work, he can slide into fatherhood slowly, but looks like Serkan is going to have none of that and is going to crash their fishing outing. Howâs that for someone who said he wasnât ready for fatherhood a mere 24-48 hours earlier?
Also itâs worth noting that Kiraz doesnât see Burak as a father-figure, if she did she probably would have joined Ayfer and tried to get her mom to marry him. Instead sheâs been almost obsessed with her father, talking about him, dreaming about him, wanting him and was very quick to correct when someone mistook Baba and Buba. Also she wanted Buba to meet her father. So Kiraz wanting to spend time with him isnât a slight, in her mind heâs a friend, an uncle and with all the upheaval keeping their plans might feel safe to her. Weâll see. Â
martha0206 asked: Hi! I love your pinned post. That moment was perfect. Also, I loved the sad and emotional scenes as well as the funny ones. The episode was amazing!!! †Serkan made Kiraz dream come true and I've rewatched that scene and cried because it's too beautiful and touching đ„ș K: Dad? S: Happy Birthday, my daughter đ„șđâ€
Ahh... this post that was pinned.  Thank you for the kind words, I also love that scene. I just love it because itâs such an EXTRA thing to do, putting on the astronaut costume and making an entrance like that, but both Serkan and Eda have always been so extra that it works for their little family.Â
I love that he made Kirazâs dream come true in the most dramatic way possible. But beyond being dramatic, it was the perfect way to signal that no matter what fears or hang-ups Serkan had, heâs committed to getting over them and heâs ready to go all in on fatherhood. A perfect way to show not only Eda that heâs serious, but to show all their friends and family heâs serious. DO YOU HEAR THAT, AYFER? Heâs back and heâs going to be her daddy, and there is nothing you can do about it!
Anonymous asked: do you think the writers goal is to make us hate Ayfer and Aydan? because its just a deeper and deeper hole for these two and I don't understand if they're supposed to be a happy family at the end. I actually realized going back that Ayfer never really developed into liking Serkan/Edser, she just accepted him one day and that was that but with Aydan, her character development was top tier up until episode 29 came along and she never recovered. Now I just want them gone.
LOL, I think this is a pretty popular sentiment among fans. Â
Personally, I need to see how badly Aydan is meddling in the next episode. If itâs fairly inept meddling that just causes some mild misunderstandings but also serves as a catalyst for an Edser conversation about the future, I probably wonât get too upset with her. However, if her meddling is more competent this time and she gets them into real trouble or causes real problems, then Iâll get annoyed with her. Although, I have to say if we need a few episodes of drama, I would rather this sort of controlled, family drama (meddling mamas causing a misunderstanding about custody) then, you know, other melodramatic things that certain other writing teams used to do... like kidnappings and obsessed stalkers.Â
As for Aydan, I canât help it, even though I can never forgive her transgression in 29, I feel sorry that she lost out on so much of her granddaughterâs life. So if she wants to come in and cause headaches and drama for Ayfer (not Eda, Kiraz and Serkan... but Ayfer) then I have no problem with that. As far as Iâm concerned those two can run around for the next few episodes playing cat and mouse while Eda/Serkan/Kiraz quietly form a family.
Honestly, I donât think they want us to hate Aydan, because they give Aydan funny scenes and relationships outside of Serkan with Kemal and Seyfi and even Engin and Piril, but I have wondered if they want us to hate Ayfer. Because Ayfer doesnât get any redeeming scenes. I mean weâre talking about a woman who managed to raise her orphaned niece and her niece never wanted for love and turned out to be a strong, smart, confidence, successful woman... sooooo she must be awesome, right!?! NOPE. I mean to take a character like that, who had to have been so instrumental in Eda not feeling lonely like Serkan did, but then make her so unlikeable... it has to be on purpose. Â
Anonymous asked: I loved this episode of sen cal kapimi. I wasnât so mad at the pregnancy thing. I know lots of fans are but I really liked how they made Eda and Serkan emotional and we could understand them better. I just hate how all the people who donât like the show anymore have turned into toxic haters. Itâs so frustrating. If she show isnt working for you, then why do they keep watching? đ
This happens in every fandom where the show keeps going and takes turns that some fans donât like. My best advice is to not expect others to change or to stop watching or stop hate tweeting/posting, but to take steps to change your own experience so they donât ruin it for you. I canât tell you how many people I currently have muted on twitter. Lots. I donât want to see the cynical, nasty tweets day in and day out about this show, the writers etc. Twitter has always been hard to take because so many people post their knee-jerk responses there and often choose to word vomit their first emotional response which for some people is mostly negative. That is true for every fandom, and has been true for this fandom since I started looking at responses there.Â
So to protect yourself, seek out people who are enjoying the show and post content that you want to see and mute, unfollow or even block those who make your experience worse.Â
Youâll never regret curating your experience.Â
Also I donât really consider this fandom toxic. Sure thereâs negativity about the storyline and internal drama about a variety of things, but after youâve been though shipwars that get hella toxic and include fans trying to destroy actorâs careers and who attempt to use social justice issues to bully their fanon ships into existence on a constant day-after-day basis for years, this is nothing. This fandom is a daisy-lined, sunlight walk in the park in comparison. Â
Anonymous asked: For the way they treat their child's SO, I prefer Aydan over Ayfer. Ofc Aydan has been selfish & rude to Eda but Aydan saw her as a respectable foe even when she didn't like Eda. Even now her ire has been directed more at Ayfer than Eda. Ayfer eventually accepted Serkan but never seemed to like him. I get why she thought he was bad for Eda but often her anger has been unwarranted. Ironic how mad she was at him for keeping a secret from Eda for 2 weeks. Even now we see how Ayfer's anger sways Eda
I also prefer Aydan over Ayfer, hereâs my recent post on it.Â
The problem is not that Ayfer never liked Serkan, the problem is that Ayfer never care that Eda did like him. Ayfer can dislike him all she wants as long as she doesnât interfere, but oh wait, she has interfered, time and time again. Sheâs used guilt and manipulation in attempts to control Eda at every turn, to the point, at times, of not caring that she was forcing Eda to sacrifice her career as well as her love.Â
It will be interesting to see Ayferâs response when she realizes Eda is going to let Serkan into their lives. Will she double down on badmouthing Serkan and pressuring Eda not to get involved with him, or will she smarten up and back off? I think we know the answer to that.Â
Anonymous asked: Hii! Iâm curious what they will come up with for the remaining episodes, I mean, drama-wise, cause no way will Ayse give us 7 episodes of Edser x Kiraz happy family time đ„ș but sure, that is also reasonable since Turks need drama to keep watching
You know, as I said above, Iâm very curious about this. To be honest I didnât really expect Eda and Serkan to be at this emotional place by the 4th episode. I mean theyâre not totally ready to get back together, but theyâve both made it obvious that they still love one another, and that is kind of a big milestone in a romantic story.Â
Seriously, my assumption prior to the season was that weâd have these initial finding out episodes, and then Eda and Serkan would still be sort of outwardly pretending that they didnât want to get back together, or still angry at one another, but then theyâd be forced together by Kiraz. You know thereâd be some parent trapping, and a handcuff episodes and then Kiraz would manipulate them into living together and weâd get all sorts of domestic sexual tension scenes. Now these things may still happen to some degree, but Edser is starting from a very different outward emotional place than I thought they would be. I assumed weâd get another 4-5 episodes of slow burn, forced proximity before they admitted things and got engaged. But now it feels like their feelings are out in the open and they could decide to get married at any moment.Â
So weâll have to see how the writerâs decide to chart their emotional journey over the remaining episodes. One thing Iâm sure of, there are some wonderful scenes coming our way. Â
Anonymous asked: I'm back and happy to say that Engin delivered!! THAT is how you use a side character. (Not whatever they were doing with Ayfer for what seemed like half the episode) This was a perfect scene for these two and had no business being as emotional as it was
Oh, yes, as I said here in my episode thoughts, the Engin/Serkan scene is the one that really started me crying on first watch. Anil was really fantastic in that scene and it made me realize how sorely I had missed Serkan/Engin as male best friends who actually talk about their emotions. Where was that guy when Serkan was being brainwashed and manipulated by Selin!?! Oh yeah he was in the hands of inept writers.Â
Glad the real Engin is back!
Anonymous asked: Serkan's vehemence against wanting kids, and his dislike of kids in general, make so much more sense with what was revealed.. we just had to be patient! I can't imagine wanting something so much, having it be your "dream" and being told it's impossible.. Serkan's method of dealing with it was trying to convince himself he never wanted it in the first place and trying to dislike the topic altogether. no wonder he was never close with Can either as an uncle... how heartbreaking!
Yes, I absolutely think that was part of it. He dealt with the fact that he couldn't have children by outwardly adopting the attitude that he never wanted it, even though he still knew deep down that itâs all he wanted with Eda.Â
Heartbreaking indeed.Â
Anonymous asked: i hate to think of more drama when it seems like we have such a fluff-filled episode next week.. but this week's conversations b/w edser have me thinking.. do you think a possibility of reoccurrence of his tumor, or just a scare could be coming as one of their "final" hurdles. except this time instead of making his mistakes from the past, he'll do it right this time. obviously everything will be resolved happily, but i was thinking of the possibility of this when serkan was discussing his health
While anything is possible, I donât see a reoccurrence of his tumor happening because they had a scene where the doctor said he was in perfect health and that since it had been five years he now had the same chance of occurrence as an ordinary person. However, I suppose itâs not impossible that they give him some sort of scare so that he can prove heâs changed and that they wonât abandon his family if that sort of adversity comes again.Â
Honestly, if I was Eda, I would make him go to therapy as a condition of them getting back together. Make sure he develops some coping skills for the long haul.Â
Anonymous asked: the ending of the last episode was equivalent to ep 11 but kiraz version for me.. the whole build-up of serkan initially thinking he can't be her father - a good father - and his fears about leaving them both halfway culminating in him saying kiraz is a miracle, that she's perfect.. watching her home videos to showing up WHEN IT MATTERED!! for his daughter.. ugh i'm so glad there was that build-up, but also that it wasn't stretched out over multiple episodes.
Yes, I agree it was all really well done. It did feel like we had all the build up we needed to truly appreciate the moment and to appreciate Serkanâs extraordinary character arc.Â
He truly rose to the occasion at the right moment, and I love that his grand gesture not only made Kirazâs dream come true, but it showed everyone his growth and acceptance of his role as her father.Â
Anonymous asked: can they just bring back Tahir - him and Melo had so much potential. let's just say he finally quit working for Babaanne and decided to come back to Istanbul to find Melo đ
Yes, please! He really liked her! Though she never really liked him, lmao. She could have gotten there with time. Though, I guess if she really likes Burak I can get behind it. And by that I mean I wonât bitch about it too much. No promises. We shall see.Â
Anonymous asked: Anon here! Thank you so much for that explanation!!!! It seems really interesting, might just have to give it a chance now! Thank you kindly đđ
Itâs a fun show and I do recommend it. Let me know if you start watching!

April 14: 2x15 The Trouble with Tribbles
Back to watching TOS on Wednesdays! Weâll see if I can keep this up because I do prefer it to Fridays.
Todayâs episode: the Classic (tm) Trouble with Tribbles.
Starting out with a little test for Chekov lol. Just Chekov, his mentor, and his mentor-in-law.
My mom called Chekov âKirk and Spockâs little project,â which I think is hilarious but also probably true. Only 22 years old and on the bridge crew? Private quiz by the top two people on the ship? Legit interpretation.
âIt was just a little joke.â / âExtremely little, Ensign.â Classic Spock burn.
The Organian Peace Treaty--from Errand of Mercy??
I really do feel like Kirk is genuinely amused by Chekov.
You would never guess from this intro about tense diplomatic situations and number-one-top-priority-triple-red-alerts that this was going to be a crack-y episode about space bunnies.
Oh no, a fake red alert! Kirk is really angry now.
Kirk and Spock are very Married today.
STORAGE COMPARTMENTS?? StOrAgE cOmPaRtmEnTs?
WHEAT??
Do not try to imply that Spock doesnât know things; he is contractually obligated to show off.
Canadian wheat.
Honestly, just let Kirk call it wheat.
Spock is using diplomacy to reign Kirk in. Sarek would be proud. And Spock would be insulted that Sarek is proud.
Kirk is very Sassy today.
Omg the waitresses have little wings.
Spock taking the wheat from behind his back and giving it to Kirk like a magicianâs assistant.
I feel like Kirk is bitter about the wheat because itâs the one (1) thing heâs not a nerd about. And heâs from Iowa too!! He should know!
Uhura listening to the salesman; well she IS here to shop, after all.
Is it alive? Is it cute? Oh who am I kidding, I can see itâs cute!
Oh no the tribble is eating the grain.
Uhura is truly adorable.
I canât believe she just made a joke about never getting any shore leave and here she is, back at her station again.
Can you even imagine AOS Kirk being tasked with protecting a bunch of grain? HE would make Iowa jokes.
And Spock is trying so hard not to laugh.
Tbh I have a real soft spot for these frustrated Kirk episodes. Poor, long-suffering Kirk. So much more serious than all of the nonsense going on around him.
I like this space station design.
Klingons on shore leave. They just want to have some fun. No bowling alleys on their ships!
Technical journal time for Scotty!
âI am immune to their effect....â Sure. Whatâs funny to me is that Kirk actually is immune to their effect. Truly at no point does he seem charmed or amused by or even interested in the tribbles, except in their capacity as Klingon detectors at the end
âI think theyâre old enough [to be adopted].â Lol how can you tell?
One look from Spock reigns Kirk in. #spacehusbands
Oh, you noticed there are 11 tribbles instead of 1? How astute.
âWhat do you get when you feed a tribble too much?â / âA fat tribble.â This is ACTUAL DIALOGUE. Oh, Kirk.
Honestly McCoy is a medical doctor, so it kind of would make more sense for Spock to be doing these tribble experiments but he has his hands full with Kirk
Kirk is awfully insistent upon Scotty taking shore leave when he should very well remember what happened last time
âYouâd think heâd be a vodka man.â And he is!
Klingons donât understand Kirk at all. He IS a little soft <3
Whereâs that post thatâs like âthe AOS writers just listened to this one Klingon speech about Kirk and wrote his character based on that?â I mean... not totally inaccurate.
Actually it is a potentially interesting speech. Is this really how his enemies see him based on his reputation? Or is it just, like, a bunch of generic insults you could apply to pretty much any captain of a group you didnât like?
Poor Kirk, missing out on this fight scene.
Lol the drink joke. Does it make sense? No, but itâs funny all the same.
âCaptainâs log: I am forced to cancel shore leave.â
Angry Daddy!Kirk and his unhelpful children. Youâre ALL grounded!!
âNo this is not off the record!â Not even gonna debate that Scotty.
This whole Kirk and Scotty scene deserves an Emmy.
Spones + Tribbles
The extra hilarious thing about Spock talking about the uselessness of the tribbles and Bones defending their cuteness as being an end in and of itself is that Spock DOES canonically like soft, pleasing animals. Even in this episode!!
The tribble wants to be captain.
Kirk collecting tribbles lmao.
âDonât look at me, itâs the tribbles that are breeding.â
The tribbles are bisexual. Just like Captain Kirk. (Yes this is two different uses of the term that mean totally different things and I do NOT care I just like hearing the word âbisexualâ in DeForest Kelleyâs voice.)
I feel like Uhura must be so lonely.. Trying to talk to Spock about the moon. Meeting shape shifting aliens who become native Swahili speakers just for her. Trying to buy love in the form of small, cute animals.
The tribbles have been taken from their predator-filled environment. I am VERY curious about their native environment now. What eats tribbles?
âItâs you I take lightly.â Honestly this level of sass almost makes AOS Kirk seem IC.
âLicensed asteroid locator and prospector.â Brb changing careers.
âBut he is after my grain!â
Kirk saying âau revoirâ is funny on its face for how he echoes Cyrano whatâs-his-face but also because it reminds me of Shatner saying âIâm from Canada, so I speak French.â
No, the tribbles got in his food! That is the last straw.
Itâs hard to tell because itâs covered in tribbles, but Spock appears to have a very odd looking salad. (Or that large piece of fruit is a tribble, really hard to tell.)
Spockâs âfascinatingâ was so quiet.
âTheyâre into the machinery all right.â First, lol, and second, isnât Scotty supposed to be in his room thinking about what heâs done?
You can really see that missing finger.
Gonna beam down some tribbles too.
And now to top off this bad day: the indignity of having a bunch of dead tribbles fall on his head. To wacky music.
âGorged? On my grain?â Itâs more likely than you think.
And like........you realize someone off set is just continuing to throw little puff balls at Shatner's head at regular intervals during this whole scene? One just bounced right off it.
And the answer to the tribble problem is literally âstop feeding themâ which is so obvious that I assumed it was just harder than one would think not to feed a tribble. Since no one fed them. And they continued to eat.
I also love how Bones comes into his best friend literally buried in tribbles and doesnât even blink.
Whereas Spockâs here with his mouth this thinnest possible line, trying not to laugh.
They like Vulcans! They have good taste.
Spock is definitely that type that has secret low self esteem so he builds himself up with confident comments at every opportunity.
âHeâs a Klingon, Jim.â
Kirk REALLY likes threatening the Klingons with tribbles.
I feel like leaving Cyrano to single-handedly clean up the tribbles over 17 years is not a punishment that makes sense because like... must the station live with the tribbles until then? Also, where is he to put them?
I think they should be returned to their native habitat to be eaten by predators according to the natural cycle of life.
Are we to understand that SPOCK suggested beaming the tribbles on to the Klingon ship? Perhaps I have underestimated his prank war abilities.
Iâll be honest, this ep is very entertaining and for that reason one of my favorites, but I donât know that it paints the Enterprise, and Kirk in particular, in the best light.
Like... I am really torn on Kirkâs treatment of the undersecretary. I know he often doesnât much like administrators and diplomats and other people who donât seem to have much RL experience, and certainly this Federation official got on his bad side immediately and understandably by misusing the red alert.
But... Kirk isnât at all subtle about not liking him. I mean he literally says âI donât like youâ and thatâs just objectively unprofessional, which he is not. The sassiness was way unsubtle, which could be funny, but it just didnât seem IC.
I can almost justify it because of the red alert mix up--thatâs everything Kirk hates: violating regulations, showing disrespect to him and his crew, uncalled for manipulation--and I think he has the right to be upset about it. But he continues holding this grudge for a long time. It feels like itâs just as much about not personally caring about the grain as about anything else. Like heâs dismissive about the grain because he personally has never heard of it. So obviously itâs not important.
Thatâs too much that conventional-wisdom arrogant, dumb Kirk for me.
I guess I just donât understand, why so much hatred for the undersecretary? Because his two biggest sins were the red alert and employing a Klingon. But as I already said, I think Kirkâs ire is disproportionate to the first offense and no one knew about the Klingon until the end--because a tribble, not Kirk specifically, found him out.
Otherwise..this guy was right! The grain was important, losing it or having it sabotaged would have very bad consequences for the Federation, it is Kirkâs job to guard it, and he should do it well. He was also right that the Klingon threat was real!! Heâd brought in the Klingon threat but he was still right about it existing. The Klingons did in fact sabotage the grain! And although we hear at the end that there was magically more grain out there... I donât get how or from where.
Furthermore, he used the red alert specifically because he seemed to think Kirk wouldnât rush over to protect the grain otherwise, and Kirk is so dismissive of this âjust wheatâ that he kinda proves the guy right!
Anyway, I can see the grains of this Kirk (lol pun not intended) in his general characterization, but itâs too over the top, to the point where itâs OOC. He does take his job, including the diplomatic aspects of it, very seriously, and I think an IC Kirk would protect the grain, and maybe be only occasionally, subtly sassy to the undersecretary.
But this was such a crack-y episode overall... it was like everyone was turned up to 11 and pushed slightly to the side.
It was a fun ep though with a lot of very classic scenes, and itâs another reminder that Spock likes soft, adorable animals.
I will admit that I actually do not think the tribbles are particularly cute. They kind of weird me out. Theyâre just lumps of fur.
Next is The Gamesters of Triskelion, which I vaguely remember as a decent but not great episode.

Lol, I saw the latest CAW ep and it was the activated Dendritic cell one. We got to see a extra scene of 4989 and 2048 freaking out. 2048's photo even showed 2001 as a child. They were all so cute!
Spoilerish? Pretty long post because I have a lot of screenshots of... you know... XD
This episode was cute! I remember reading the manga way back when and my gosh.. the anime did so many things I canât possibly keep up!Â
Instead of words, I shall be using screenshots that I think not only honored the manga, but also exceeded everyoneâs expectations:
WE FINALLY GOT IT IN FULL COLOR! NK YOU LOOK SO CUTE AND ADORABLE AND SO YOUNG HERE! WHY ARE YOU SO EMBARRASSED???Â
THIS CELL. RIGHT HERE.Â
I READ THE MANGA, BUT NOTHING COULD HAVE POSSIBLY PREPARED ME FOR THE NEXT SEQUENCE.
THIS MAN HAS THE BEST MAGICAL GIRL TRANSFORMATION SEQUENCE EVER.Â
NO, I DONâT TAKE CRITICISM.Â
I swear, heâs so powerful and awesome. U-2001, I love you... but this cell right here has stolen my heart. I may or may not be replacing U-2001 with Dendritic Cell as ultimate favorite CAW character of all time; the animation team killed it and I was somewhat smitten two years ago when I first read this chapter.Â
WAS THIS IN THE MANGA??? 1146 LOOKS SO BUFF AND SO GOOD??? HOW???
This man is a sadist and if this was a NSFW blog, I would totally be saying other things about sadism. Wink, wink.
THEY ANIMATED IT.
THE MAD LADS HAVE DONE IT AGAIN.Â
CUUUUUUUUUUTTTTTEEEEEE! SOMEBODY WRITE FANFICS ABOUT NK AND MACROPHAGES TOTALLY HAVING A GIRLâS DAY OUT OR WHATEVER.
Hehehe, I wonder what 4989 saw, hahaha...
AWww... they look so adorable! 2626 looking so smug while 2048 is just an adorable little munchkin. Heheh, and 2001 (yes, mah boi! sorry Iâm cheating on you with Dendritic Cell, lol) looking like heâs seen things.Â
^^^ My wives. Touch them and they will tear you to pieces.Â
OTHER NOTEWORTHY THINGS THIS EPISODE:
You get to 3803 walking around with a package near the end of the episode
We get to hear more dialogue from the WBC squad
We get to see the duality of man from Dendritic Cell (he seems to be really good with kids and lactic acid bacterium by offering them cookies, but then turns around and just... heâs a sadist with a heart of gold)
Once again, @CAW Anon, we get to see 1146 comfort/confront people with tea... your head canon is basically canon and Iâm so jealous
The lactic acid bacterium is cute as alwaysÂ
KUDOS TO THE STUDIO FOR INTRODUCING NEW CHARACTER INTERACTIONS LIKE NORMAL CELL TALKING WITH 4989, THE ADDITION OF NEW BLACKMAIL, ETC. TIS CUTE!!!
THE RETURN OF CANCER IS UPON US
But yeah...
TLDR; May or may not put aside my long term love for 2001 and replace him with Dendritic Cell. It only took ten seconds, but this sadistic cell has taken my heart and my immune system with him.

Hyena Ep. 16
Iâm baaack! Kind of. I think I hit that point in my quarantine life where I kind of lost my mind so I went on an unexpected hiatus that lasted longer than intended. I know itâs been over a month after the finale of Hyena but here are my ramblings. This post is super long so Iâll save my thoughts on the series as a whole for another post.
Objectively, it was a pretty good finale that was entertaining and wrapped up the important plot lines. We even got some sweet otp moments (more on that later) and satisfying smackdown of the bad guy. But subjectively? Personally? Purely based on my selfish expectations? I wanted more romance! More sexiness! I wasnât expecting a wedding or anything like that but, not even one kiss? Or a long embrace? Why????
I mean, how can you give me all this sexy chemistry in the promos:
And then not make use of it in the finale? Thatâs just not fair I say! I feel bamboozled!
Ep. 16
Anyway, letâs talk about the parts I enjoyed of the finale. This is mainly (99%) going to be about the moments between Geum Ja and Hee Jae. So on the morning of episode 16, way back when, I woke up so excited for the finale. Since this was the last episode, surely there will be a kiss! And surely it would be epic given the chemistry between JJH and KHS. I mean did you see that kiss in episode 8? So when we started off the episode with the scene of Hee Jae telling Geum Ja he didnât want to see her hurt anymore, I was amped. Yes, weâre starting off strong with the romantic scenes I thought.
How can you not fall for him?
Geum Ja, you are not a gangster, you do not need to show your story through the scars on your body. Joking aside, itâs sad that sheâs been through so much in life that she has the scars to prove it.Â
I love that Hee Jae says this half-sarcastically but you can tell that he truly does not want Geum Ja to go through any more pain/suffering. And itâs his sincerity that makes Geum Ja smile so softly. And this is where they kiss right?
Nope, he gets a hearty bro punch in the shoulder.
Cut for lots of caps and ramblings. Itâs a bit of a mini novel, youâve been warned!
Mmm I loved how many scenes of concerned Hee Jae we got in this episode. Â
Geum Ja screams from a nightmare and Hee Jae immediately runs into the office to check on her. The only way he could have reacted so quickly is if he was sitting outside the office guarding Geum Ja which...AHHH I think Iâve just died and gone to hurt/comfort heaven. Just look at JJHâs face.
EEE! I audibly squealed when Geum Ja said this. Ok, now Iâve truly died. Geum Ja? Asking to be comforted? By Hee Jae? What? This is major. Sheâs finally letting down her walls a little bit around Hee Jae and allowing herself to be vulnerable. Keep on leaning I say! Lean all the way into bed.
Omg and then she showed concern over Hee Jaeâs own emotional state despite her own trauma. His dad totally betrayed him just a few hours ago so Hee Jaeâs having a pretty shitty day too. But of course, Hee Jae is only concerned about Geum Ja. Ahh, how many times is he going to make me swoon in this episode? Â
Feet piled on top of each other?! Are they finally in bed together?
Of course not. Unfortunately, this isnât that type of drama. SIGH. But this is still very sweet and squeal-inducing.
Have I talked about how much I love JJHâs little sly smirks?
I love that these two fools canât stop worrying about the other. Geum Ja knows better than anyone how deep emotional scars caused by a parent can be. On top of that, Hee Jaeâs father was someone he respected and loved, so the blow is even bigger. I just really like it when my otp show how much they care about each other, ok?
Look at that smile on Hee Jaeâs face. Itâs like thereâs no other place he would rather be than next to Geum Ja.Â
No, please donât. Yâall are not 12. Please get at least a queen size bed with plenty of room for two adults to move around in and do...adult things lol.
And then. AND THEN! Geum Ja takes the initiative and turns over towards Hee Jae. Sheâs finally the one taking the first step towards him without any prodding. And Hee Jae smiles to himself and follows her lead to turn over also. And then the two fools smile lovingly at each other as they fall asleep. Omg, excuse me, I need a moment. Iâve temporarily passed on to the other side from sheer otp happiness.
This moment was just too good. I literally raised both my arms up into the air and cheered when I first watched this episode. I thought, wow the writers are feeding us so well. Theyâre showering us with so many romantic scenes. The otp caring for each other? Being tender with each other? Sharing a âbed?â I donât want to ever get off this love train, keep it coming! This is only the first third of the episode so surely it can only go up from here.
And then it ended on a comedic note. I guess I should have seen that coming. This is SBS, not TVN (or JTBC from the looks of The World of the Married). Hah, well I suppose they both had a pretty tiring day so itâs understandable that they would not have much energy to do anything else.
Itâs the little everyday things like asking if sheâs ok that get me.
(JJH I thirst for you.)
Suuuuure you are.
Lol, he wouldnât be Hee Jae if he didnât pull something childish/petty. At least Geum Ja is amused by it and finds it cute now. Get you a man who can be both your emotional support and amusing bratty boyfriend.
Geum Ja does end up meeting Hee Jae for dinner and he canât help but smile a little. Gosh, it takes so little from Geum Ja to make him happy.
(damn, look at that profile!)
So some time during this episode, Geum Jaâs adoptive father died off-screen from the stab wound he sustained while stopping her assailant. At first, I went âHuh, thatâs it?â But then the more I thought about it, the more I liked how matter-of-factly it was treated. Itâs certainly consistent with how Geum Ja deals with things. Also, she faced her demons/him in a previous episode so you could say that she already resolved that chapter of her life. Â
Still, you could tell that sheâs not completely unaffected by it. KHSâs acting in this scene is so good. You can tell thereâs more to it than what sheâs saying just by the little subtle changes in her expression. I can only imagine the many complicated feelings she must be experiencing. Â
On the one hand, heâs the worst part of her past life and surely deserved to die. But on the other hand, unintentional or not, he died saving her. Geum Ja does not state this with any affection or sentimentality in her voice. It is merely something that happened. Thank goodness the writers did not try to redeem him in the last minute. One good deed does not make up for all the violence and abuse inflicted on her and her mother. Â
Anyway, all that muddled history and emotions would make anybody conflicted. They really handled it the best way they could - simply state what happened and move on. No hate, no praise, no sadness. He was a terrible man who paid the ultimate price and died. I like that Hee Jae understands not to push the matter any further and changes the subject.
Bro, youâre delusional if you think you still have a chance with her. Â
And then we get to the ubiquitous Big Shareholder Meeting that we see so often in dramas. Â I love how Geum Ja is so ballsy in everything she does and she does it all in her comfy tracksuits. Of course the Big Shareholder Meeting does not go as planned and Song Pil Jung gets arrested.
God I love the look on Geum Jaâs face. It screams âis this guy still talking to me?â
Can I just say, I love how utterly brutal Geum Ja is in her rejection of Kevin Jung. Woof, ouch. If I ever heard that from someone I liked, I would be so devastated and embarrassed, Iâd find a dark hole to bury myself in and lick my wounds. But of course, Kevin, like all the other men who fall for Geum Ja, seems to be into it. It takes a certain type of man to go for Geum Ja and apparently that type is a total masochist who likes getting rejected and their heart ripped out. I mean, to each their own.
I like whenever they do their power couple strut.
A bro fist bump? Really? Hm, I never really fist bumped the guys I dated but thatâs cool I guess. Theyâre going in to destroy Song Pil Jung so I guess a fist bump is appropriate.
Hm, I donât know. It seems like youâre the one who got arrested.
Bro. Mister. Are you for real? Did you forget all the shitty things you did to her?
Yeah, thatâs kind of a big deal I think.
SO. SATISFYING. Whew honey, this exchange gave me life. My skin has cleared, my bank account is full, and Iâve lost 5 pounds.
Yessss I am all for this nerdy JJH in glasses and turtleneck sipping on expensive instant coffee aesthetic.Â
The couple that taunts together, stays together?
Hahahahaha, Hee Jae talking about being professional at work? Hahahahha.
I live for jealous Hee Jae because heâs extra ridiculous whenever heâs jealous. In this scene heâs getting jealous over Ju-Ho calling Geuma Ja ânoonaâ and itâs like come on, theyâre foster siblings. Let him call her noona. Side note, Netflix translates ânoonaâ into Eun-Young, Geum Jaâs real name, and it irks me. Couldnât they have just translated it into âsisâ instead?
Now weâre around the 55 minute mark and Iâm thinking, okay this is probably where itâs going to end. This is when itâs going to happen. They donât have that much time left in the episode. All right, give me us all that weâve been waiting for.
(Good looking main stays looking good.)
You canât ever accuse Hee Jae of not being committed to Geum Ja.
We finally get an explanation for why Geum Ja always stared at that huge building
Haha, can you expect anything less from her character? At this point, Iâm looking at the remaining time and thinking, ok then, whenâs that kiss gonna happen?
SHRIEKS WHAT ARE THOSE HIDEOUS THINGS ON HIS FEET?! On another note, Iâm sure Kim Hye Soo must be so glad she doesnât have to wear those gigantic heels anymore.
Omg, ok, this is it. Weâre getting shots of beautiful sexy people strutting and being playful with each other. Theyâre setting up for a romantic ending kiss. Ok, time to prepare myself.
Yes, put your arms around each other. Weâre getting closer now.
Oh, ok. I guess this will be a far away in the distance kind of kiss. Thatâs ok, too I guess.
Oh, wait. Never mind. Looks like weâre going to get a frontal view of the ending kiss after all. Even better!
What? Thatâs it? What? Did I miss something? This canât be.
Oh whew. An epilogue. Ok, this is when itâs going to happen.
Hahaha, theyâre totally using the vloggers to advertise for their law firm. Â I love how Hee Jae has loosened up on what he thinks a proper lawyer should act like and itâs reflected in his more flamboyant wardrobe choices.
These damn fist bumps again. All the time spent fist bumping could have been spent hugging and kissing. Priorities, people!
Hah, like hell Hee Jae would ever leave Geum Ja.
Haha knew it. Boy is more whipped than whipped cream.
This pretty much sums up their dynamic. SIGH Iâm not going to get my kiss am I.
Oh no. That caption can only mean one thing.
Yeeep. Thatâs it. This is the end. Finito. Â
Well. All right then. You know, the first time I watched this episode, I felt very disappointed that there was no final kiss. I mean the last time we saw them kissing was in episode 8 at the midpoint of the drama. This drama was clearly a rom com/screwball comedy so it only seemed fitting that there would be one last kiss scene. Thatâs how you end a romantic drama! But alas.
Actually, upon re-watching and re-capping this episode, I realized that even though we did not get any kiss scene, the writers still gave us plenty of sweet moments between Hee Jae and Geum Ja. We got to see their lovely progression into becoming partners who supported and trusted each other so that was nice. Even though theyâre clearly together now, itâs nice to see that they still have their playful bickering dynamic. So objectively, it was a nice ending. I just personally wanted more smooches.
If you made it through this entire post, thank you for expending so much time reading my ramblings and congratultaions on having so much patience!

5D's Episode 27... with an âUncutâ Dub?! (Re-Edited 4Kids Dub/Japanese OST - Revised)
âA World Without Light -- The Dark Synchro Frozen Fitzgerald!â/âA Web of Deceit (Part 1)âł
Everybody listen!
Took long enough to finish up and polish (partly because of work and activism life actually picking up a bit), but hereâs a brand-new âdub-uncutâ episode! With my first few takes in episodes 23-26 newly revised, I was looking forward to working on 27 and starting fresh again, lol. In case this is the first youâre hearing about my mini-project here, letâs get you up to speed:
So, the official Spanish YGO channel on YouTube flubbed a few uploads of the 5Dâs dub such that they ended up uploading a few episodes of the English dub instead of the Latin American dub (21-29)âbut with none of 4Kidsâs background music! Which meant that I could swoop in and re-insert the original Japanese soundtrack (which I did by matching each track to how it was looped in the episode), but I wanted to do more by also tweaking the dub itself so that not only was it matching the original footage, but the dialogue was more in line with the original dialogue timing-wise (since I couldnât salvage much of what they changed).  Hence, the âdubbed uncutâ gimmick here. To this end, Iâve also used dialogue from Duel Links where applicable, or even borrowed audio from other episodes with the vocals isolated to lend to that effect.
Check out the masterpost of episodes Iâve done here!
Check out this episodeâs WIP videos! WIP #1 Â Â WIP #2 Â Â WIP #3 Â WIP #4 Â WIP #5
So, this one was fun to do particularly because overall, save for the, er... butchering that happened on explaining the Dark Synchro mechanic (4Kids wut) and the rewrite of Carlyâs interaction with her Editor-in-Chief (and making Carly a âbloggerâ lol), the dialogue was already more or less in line with the Japanese version, which meant that I was more or less just removing a lot of the fluff as I added back the OST. As I did in 22, 24, and 26, I added subs for the scenes where 4Kids rewrote things a bit too much for my taste (so, the scenes I mentioned above, but also the occasional line or a few), but of course these subs will be optional in the MKV I release on NAC for this. I also added back some SFX and tried to remove the dubâs replacement SFX in most cases, though I had to swap out the SFX as Speed Warrior was tuning with Junk Synchron since 4Kids had a tendency to add some new one over the original SFX and made it too loud to work with the Yusei chant I put there. And I translated the OP/ED credits in Last Train and CROSS GAME, revamping my singable lyrics a bit for Last Train while drafting new ones for CROSS GAME which Iâll post soon; you can see my Last Train translation in the second WIP video and CROSS GAMEâs here. Full process breakdown below the cut.
Also, major thanks to yugidmx5 for providing A+ rips of the âThe Day Begins/Tenpeiâ theme in the Carly/Angela scene, the âVision of Tragedyâ theme as Yusei and Ruka talk about the Satelliteâs future, and the alternate âDark Signersâ tune which plays as we first see them and then again between the Dark Signer drones recruiting and Yusei chasing Dark-Signer!Dick down (before it transitions to the OST-released version once Yusei gets to the building under construction); I know that since these came out well, heâs working on better rips for some or most of the unreleased OST, so stay tuned there (I also drafted up a full version of the alternate DS theme, but had to get creative since they didnât play all of it in this alternate style; will post soon). And thanks to Tiny Spider Productions, who provided the âshockâ SFX playing as Carly sees Yuseiâs arm actually glowing in her car, some inspo here/there for dialogue fixes, and provided CurtisH from CastingCallClubâs recording he did voicing a line from Tanner translating the original line about the four Signers they know which 4Kids cut short.
I hope folks enjoy! Just breezing through 28 often for lines to use here, I can tell itâs going to be a headache because they did throw in a lot more jankiness in the dialogue... So, fun. đ Once I handle finalizing my subs for GX 56 (and possibly 57 due to how long this took), Iâll start drafting it out; stay tuned~Â
(And if you're able to reblog for visibility, itâd be appreciated given Tumblrâs suckage with links đđœ)
Breakdown, breakdown~
So, I used Duel Links audio for the twins to handle the Noteworthy/Showcased Cards bit (weâll see if I still can in 28... And as the twins are voiced by Eileen Stevens in Duel Links but not yet in 5Dâs [that happens in 65], bear with me lol), and I also translated the sign for this hardsub in Photoshop, masking in the Fitzgerald card and Rua and Rukaâs heads over it in Sony Vegas. Â
Moving to the episode proper, a second was trimmed from the shot of the stadium in the TV Rally/co are using once it tunes in, and I couldnât properly loop the âYusei!â shouts to cover it, so I just filled in the audio with the crowd just cheering. In the Carly/Angela scene, I removed Angelaâs extra lines about her makeup and hair while Carly was getting ready, then tweaked Angelaâs line on camera to remove her last name (which we never learn originally) and move her lines about âFusei Yudoâ winning to play sooner while removing Carlyâs âone journalist to anotherâ as she walks up to correct her (as this scene was rewritten, there are subs to show the original dialogue). Looped chants of âYusei!â to remove his internal âpointing out the obviousâ monologue before the OP.
After the OP, I used the JP audio to keep the doctors moving Jack quiet (hopefully you donât notice the chants changing lol), then as Yanagi runs over, I replaced his bit about Yusei having âa brand new enemyâ in the media with âwe should all get goingâ from 26. The Godwin/Lazar scene stays the same since it was accurate, but I did have to put the end of Rexâs âthatâs the only thing that mattersâ line on another track so Lazarâs gasp would play when it should (they added a second to his talking in the dub). The Yusei/co scene in the tunnel stays mostly the same, just switched to the JP audio as the flashback to the Satellite vision happened, then as Yusei had a quick one before gasping, I recycled a gasp and a âhmmâ from elsewhere to cover the commercial-inducing monologue they gave him in the dub. For the press conference scene, I thought about removing the one âThatâs right, Tedâ reporterâs line since heâs quiet originally, but thought âwhatever,â and then I spaced out Carlyâs line as she reads her fortune to match her Japanese lineâs pace and remove some of the fluff. I switched to the JP audio after Carly asked about Yuseiâs arm glowing to remove Rexâs comment over it, then stitched up a âPerhaps; still, I didnât see thatâ mixing his line there with a âstillâ from 23. Carlyâs line as sheâs excited about Goodwin dodging her question (originally just âIâll keep moving forward too!â [she references her fortune a lot more]) was longer in the dub, so I cut out the âwhich means Iâm onto somethingâ for use later. For Carlyâs chat with her Editor-in-Chief, I included subs because of the rewrite, but I did shorten Carlyâs line just before âbring some dirt and you might still have a jobâ which was lengthened by 4Kids. Removed a lot of Carlyâs fluff as she began to watch the Yusei duel footage via the JP audio, then stitched together âGoodwin tried to give me that bit but [the whole world will know what Goodwinâs trying to hide]â, the latter bit coming from Carlyâs monologue as sheâs running at the end of the ep, then switched to the JP audio to remove Carlyâs fluff about living in her car. Then, as we see the Dark Signers looming, because 4Kids removed the commercial break here, I kept only Demak and Kalinâs chuckling and Romanâs âlower the curtainsâ line over the desk shot, then looped some of his laughing from after the eyecatch to lead into it.
After the eyecatch, I made use of his âGoodwin assembled his Signersâ bit, recycled a little chuckling, then cut Romanâs reference to Shakespeare to just the âtangled webâ line (thanks to yugidmx5 also providing the SFX for this scene, I was able to move Romanâs laughing to play where it should after he releases his spiders). Moving to Yanagi drawing the Crimson Dragon, I only kept his âsaw it the onceâ line while using Japanese Rua and Rukaâs interested gasps to fill a fluff gap, then combined two bits of audio to get a [slightly] awkward ât[ail]â to fix 4Kidsâs dumb error claiming he had the Head birthmark; accordingly, made Leo say âWhat about it?â instead of âWhat about the Head?â. CurtisHâs line for Tanner comes in here, with a slight tweak or two to match the lip-flaps more, then JP audio as we see all the Signers so far to remove Leoâs dialogue. Meanwhile, for Jackâs hospital scene, I translated the âNo Visitorsâ sign Mikage walks past (along with fixing âAtlusâ to âAtlasâ). The Dark Signer recruitment scene also gets some subs, then I used the JP audio from when we see Dark Signer!Dick walking to Yuseiâs birthmark beginning to glow; yugidmx5 providing the SFX was a big help here, too. Yusei runs out to chase Dick down, and then when he sees him inside the under-construction building, I took âWho are youâ from later in the episode, but added a more question-ending âu?â to flesh the sound out a bit (since the line was âWho are you and whatâs going onâ). I took âFine, thenâ and âWhat are you planning to do to the Satelliteâ from 28 (which Iâll likely cut as it was added offscreen dialogue), and TSP provided a vocal-isolated cut of Dickâs line about his master (because 4Kids cut his shot short by a second or two and played it as the SFX for the zoomout as his Disk activated played). Â
They begin the duel, and here I just kept âWhatâs going on?â from the line I noted earlier, recycled some laughing from Dick to match the JP script, then shortened his line about their being offered up âby the lightâ to work with the new timing. Dick begins his turn, but I recycled an âItâs my turn nowâ line from later for accuracy, then his setting-a-card line is cut short at his ending his turn as Yusei looks on. Carly, driving nearby and seeing lights from the duel off in the distance, gets her reference to the Goodwin âsheen from Yuseiâs Runner got in your eyeâ line that I cut replaced with the âIâm onto somethingâ I noted before. Yusei gets a recycled âItâs my move!â line from 24 to start his turn, tweaked to remove the drawing SFX that happens in it, then to remove a dub SFX I used a Duel Links line to fill out âI activate the Tuning [Spell Card]â.  âI summon Junk Synchronâ comes from 24 (and âLevel-2-or-below Monster from my Graveyardâ comes from his Graceful Revival explanation in episode 3), then--thanks to Arian over on NAC reuploading some HQ dub episodes--a better-quality vocal rip of his âLevel-3 Junk Synchron, tune with Level-2 Speed Warrior!â line from 87, along with a better-quality rip of his âFrom two come oneâ chant and âForm the road of light!â from Duel Links. Yusei shouts âBattle!â from Duel Links, then I slowed down his line at â[Attack his Blizzard Li]zardâ to end it there (and remove the âwarm Satellite welcomeâ fluff). As Blizzard Lizardâs effect activates, I combined an âI activate,â âBlizzard Lizardâs special ability,â and ânowâ for a better line than âBlizzard Lizardâs special ability is going on.â Yuseiâs lines after being damaged and realizing he damaged Dick too are spaced out to match the JP script, then I borrowed Yuseiâs line on setting two cards from episode 3. Then, when Dick plays Ice Mirror, I stitched up an explanation (since the Card Interruption does it for him) combining Call of the Hauntedâs explanation with a few other pieces of dialogue (thanks to TSP for the inspo). I cut Dickâs âNow Iâll playâ line there to remove the dubâs zooming-in SFX, and then made Dickâs line about his third Blizzard Lizard end right before the split-screen with all three of them to remove the dubâs split-screen SFX. I thought about replacing Yuseiâs âthreeâs a crowdâ line with âWhatâs that all aboutâ from later, but couldnât figure out a way to fill the line in before that, so I left it, but didnât let Dick acknowledge it by just recycling âWith that doneâ to replace âWell, how about [I release]â, then after Yusei reacts to his Dark Tuner, I recycled some chuckling to match the JP script and trimmed his line about its âpower to extinguish;â the Dark Synchro âexplanationâ gets some subs to actually explain it, then I looped Carlyâs panting as she runs to cover the âGoodwinâs trying to hideâ line I moved to earlier, and recycled/amplified Dickâs laughing at various points through the ep to remove Yuseiâs episode-ending monologue.
In the preview, I just recycled Yuseiâs âNo way...â and âA Dark Synchro Summon?!â while borrowing Carlyâs lines about the Dark Tuner from 28, then Yuseiâs line about getting his answers to end it. I had to speed up the OST version of the preview tune to match the pace here, then trimmed it and ended it with the JP audio for the quick fade-out.

BNHA Rewatch: Episode 61Â âDeku vs Kacchan Part 2âł
 mysterylover123
O.T.P.
This is gonna get kinda emotional.
Deku is turning Kacchanâs fight proposal down. Dammit Deku! Heâs being serious!
Hoo boy that Kacchan face. No light in his eyes. That realization, justâŠjust bleeding throughâŠhoo boy.
âIf the way you admired him was correct, does that mean my way of thinking was wrong?â OMG ITS HAPPENING. HEâS REALIZING IT YAâLL.
The flashbacks to bb Deku and Kacchan the feels.
The white void, itâs just the two of them.Â
That Deku line from the first episode. Iâm transported right back, yaâll. Itâs that first love again, that same feeling I had when I first discovered this series all the way back in summer of last year.
So Deku starts by thinking too hard about whatâs going on and immediately gets blasted.
âYou think too muchâ hoo boy recently Motherâs Basement posted the analysis of this fight and pointed out that this is actually a flaw of Dekuâs that he can learn to remedy by adopting some of Kacchanâs impulsiveness. Never has the phrase âyou complete meâ been more accurate.
This freaking animation. Itâs so beautiful. OMG.
âWait for meâ OH MAN BB DEKU BB KACCHAN RUNNING IâM DEAD I AM DYING
Cause he loves ya you dope.
Cute overload
WHY WHY WHY hoo boy Kacchan flashbacks.
Dat little trip oh man. Heâs so bummed Deku doesnât wanna fight and Dekuâs little kick actually knocked him down.
Ooh boy. Here it comes. The music went out
Hold his freaking hand some day dammit
Oh god I canât watch this again I canât I canât
âwhy is to you became strongâŠwhile I - â OH GOD HERE IT COMES HERE IT COMES
OH GOD. Slow clap. Okamoto and Chapin both deserve freaking awards for that performance. I mean holy shit. That voice acting. Those cracks. That hit. It makes me cry. Iâm tearing up right now. Cause you see, this whole episode, it really rests on the ability of Bakugouâs Seiyuu and VA to pour everything into the performance. Itâs not going to hit without both of them giving the vocal acting performance of a lifetime, and they both knocked it out of the freaking park. I actually love them both as his voice; I donât have a preference for dub over sub, as regards their performances (not the dialogue translations), because both are incredible. Just. Slow clap. All of the awards, please.
Look at how Deku looks at him. Heâs the best. He justâŠhe cares, so much. I mean, youâd admittedly have to be a pretty heartless bastard not to feel a little compassionate after hearing that speech but still. Kacchanâs so fucking lucky he has Deku and he doesnât even know it. I want one too.
Heâs crying. Me too.
Kacchan no Kacchan no nonononononoÂ
Oh god Deku you beautiful darling
âmay not be any meaningâ I DISAGREE THIS IS THE CULMINATION OF AN ENTIRE SERIESâ WORTH OF 100+ SYMBOLIC CHAPTERS DETAILING YOUR GROWTH FROM ANGRY YELLING RIVALS TO RIVALS WHO SUPPORT EACH OTHER DAMMIT ITâS EVERYTHING
âMay not be any meaning in winning or losingâ lol are you just saying that in hindsight, Future Deku, cause you know you lost?
Deku didnât have to do this. He didnât have to fight Kacchan or even let him know the truth.
And note, he didnât accept until he realized there was someone he could save. Someone who needs saving, to be helped. And this is how to help him.
âThe only one who can accept his feelings is me.â Yaâll heard that haters? Say it a little louder for the people in the back, Deku. Heâs got his heart.
And look whoâs smiling again, eyes lighting up again, the minute Deku started fighting back?
âI couldnât just completely reject himâ Guess who also sad that about their fiery spiky blond spouse in BNHA? Kacchanâs dad in that omake about their marriage.
Their relationship was wrong, but now itâs right.Â
They never talked about how they really felt. Communication is the cornerstone of a healthy relationship, folks. Go on. Talk about your feels. Your real feelings.
Of that was one hell of a hit.
That speedy recovery though. Deku is fast.Â
Oh wow Kacchan hit it too
That smile. That smile OMG that is THE HOTTEST, by far, that Deku has ever looked in animation. And I donât say that lightly.
The translation here is either âIâveâ or âyouâveâ gotten stronger. Both fit fine, which is the crazy part. Deku could be either saying that he himself has improved, or complimenting Bakugou, which does admittedly make more sense with what he was saying before, while âIâveâ fits his cocky grin here better. I want him to flash a cocky grin more. It suits him. (BTW The English Dub compromises between the two and saysâ weâve bothâ.
Katsuki assumes Deku has a plan. Always overestimating him.
âThatâs what I hate about youâ OMG HE FINALLY TELLS HIM HOW HE FEELS. âI can never tell what youâre thinkingâ Because ya know heâs so good at understanding how everyone else thinks and feels.
Heâs always being mean to Deku. Deku has seen him at his very worst and yet still admires him. Maybe thatâs scary, you know? Unconditional love isâŠkinda terrifying. But so, so beautiful. So he has to rationalize it that Deku is just looking down on him.
Wow Deku sure took you long enough! Heâs been saying that since day 1!
âI wouldnât want anything to do with them anymoreâ Deku there you go being empathetic and wonderful and perfect again. So understanding you darling, darling boy.
âAlong with the parts I hated about you, I saw all the amazing things you could do.â THATâS ADMIRATION, FOLKS. ADMIRATION WITHOUT IDOLIZATION. Without hero-worship. Acknowledging the good and the bad. Seeing a person for who they really are and always, always seeing the best of them, even at their worst.
âMUCH CLOSER TO ME THAN ALL MIGHTâ Do you hear him guys? The closest person to him, closer than All Might. Closer than his freaking #1 favorite hero. The dub version has âactually in my lifeâ, which isnât a bad idea either. Both are true. That is so powerful. The person who
Oh yeah and again how does Deku advance in power? How does he Go Beyond? KACCHAN. Full cowling, he found from him. OFA itself, he gained by saving him. And 8%.
THAT SMILE. âI thought you were amazing.â He loves you you idiot.Â
He kept chasing after him. Heâll never stop. He wonât just give up.
He passed him. And Bakugo looks happy. Possibly because he wants Deku to do better. Possibly because it seems to be confirming his might-makes-right theory. Possibly both.
ANIMATION-GASM AGAIN.Â
AHAHAHAHAHAH ITS THAT CUT ITS THAT CUT DEKUâS DANCING FEET
THE VOID AROUND THEM ITâS JUST YOU AND MEÂ
AND THE BLOCK OMG THIS IS BEAUTIFUL THIS IS THE MOST FREAKING BEAUTIFUL ANIMATION IVE EVER SEEN
Iâm serious. They brought out all the stops for this one. Of course. they knew, they had to know, that this was it. The animation, too, had to be perfect, or else it wasnât gonna come across. And it is. Even better, in my opinion, than the animation in the stuff that came before it. Bones you are incredible.Â
Higher gear. Can anyone doubt that Katsuki is important to Dekuâs journey after this?
âThis is gross, so I canât say itâ.. âI love you?â A reactor I follow actually said that after that line. Thatâs how intense they are.
Anyway IMAGE OF VICTORY SPEECH. The Ep that keeps on giving.Â
Kacchan is his image of victory. The other side of him. And he adopts some of his traits.
âThe part of you I hate and yetâ How much love can you have for a person when you can somehow still admire the darkest, meanest parts of them? I donât have a very perfect definition of love but I think thatâs probably a big part of it.
âmy image of victory is of youâ feels overload. Feels O.D.Â
dat crane shot.
My one disappointment with this episode is that they used the US of Smash OST instead of the Katsuki and Izuku OST for this scene. CMON GUYS. SERIOUSLY. THE KATSUKI AND IZUKU THEME HAD TO HAVE BEEN WRITTEN FOR THIS EPISODE AND THIS MOMENT ALONE. WHAT WERE YOU THINKING.Â
âI have to beat youâ the music the feels omg
Hahaha psych. Kacchan wins anyway.Â
WOOF. Like OK this is in the manga, this positioning, but itâs only for one frame. In the anime it goes on for like, an uncomfortably long time, with the slow panting, and the close-ups on the twisting body parts, andâŠcombined with the fact that all of Dekuâs admiring girlfriends in this arc have also landed on top of him in a similar pose, and you canât blame me for the fact that my mind went into ratherâŠR-rated territory.Â
Kacchanâs disappointed. He didnât want Deku to lose. He wanted Deku to win.
That breaking  voice again. Donât make me cry more dammit itâs too late.
ALL MIGHT! I need an MST3K style All Might commentary-reaction to this entire damn thing. Seriously Hori. If you ever do an extra, please make one thatâs a serious of All Might panel reacting to this whole thing. I NEED THAT.Â
Finishing each otherâs sentences again.
âItâs too lateâ ITâS NEVER TOO LATE YOU CYNICAL PORCUPINE.
This is such a great moment of catharsis. Why Deku indeed? Well, youâre about to learn.
THAT LINE DELIVERY AGAIN. That Broken voice. Both voice actors are too good.
Dekuâs legs though. WOWSA. A little detail Iâve noticed is that Kacchan has really buff, sexy arms and Deku has really buff, sexy legs. Because those are the body parts they use, while the reverse parts are more average.
âIâm weak tooâ Youâre making me weak I canât take it. His voice his voice that fucking voice
DEKUâS EYES. THEYâRE WELLING.Â
HEâS GONNA CRY TOO.
I also need an All Might in my life. I kinda blame myself all the time for things outside of my control. Deku AND Kacchan both blamed themselves for what happened. For All Mightâs end. And neither one was really responsible, but theyâre just like that. I relate, painfully, to both of them. I have a Deku side and a Bakugo side - deep down, I think we all do. Maybe one more than the other, but thatâs what you get when you create two characters who initially act as kind ofâŠdistilled embodiments of two sides of the super-hero coin. One all super with no hero, the other all hero with no super - at least, at the beginning.
THAT PIANO MUSIC IT SOUNDS FAMILIAR. ITâS ALL MIGHTâS FREAKING THEME YAâLL!
Ooh boy All Mightâs BKDK Speech! Both of their teachers ship them, you guys. All Might AND Aizawa both give big, beautiful speeches about their compatibility. In case you somehow missed it.Â
Being fixated on victory like you, young BakugouâŠand wanting to save those in trouble, like you, young MidoriyaâŠboth of those feelings are necessary.â âYou guys are perfect for each otherâ, says the reactor I mentioned earlier (who isnât even a hardcore BKDK shipper, mind you, itâs just that itâs that obvious.) And itâs true. You need both. They want each other, they need each other, because they have what the other lacks. They complete each other. Â
This is the shonen rival equivalent of having the couple in a rom-com confess at the end of act one instead of act three. It upsets all the cliches and is all the better for it. Though even the most hardcore, dedicated anime rivals, I donât think have ever gone this married-couple with the âmutual respectâ and âmaking each other strongerâ thing.
WIN AND SAVE SAVE TO WIN. They look each other in the eyes.
Oh god not that voice again Iâm dying. Donât make me cry again Kacchan. Â
âDonât lose.â SUPPORTIVE KACCHAN I LOVE SUPPORTIVE KACCHAN.
âIâll get strongerâ CONFIDENT DEKU I LOVE CONFIDENT DEKU.Â
âOf the students only you.â ONLY YOU.Â
I put this moment really high on my list of Kacchanâs nicest moments, because it means a lot to me and to All Might. All Might acknowledges it. Heâs a good secret keeper.
Oh and Deku thanks him too in the English Dub, BTW. Not the manga but nice dub touch.Â
OMG heâs such a Tsundere.
He told him everything. HE KNOWS. The only one who knows. None of Dekuâs other love interests do. And he has no interest in telling them.Â
Kacchan asks why he told him. And Iâve got an answer, after obsessively rereading Chapter 11/rewatching Episode 8 a lot: BECAUSE HE LOVES YOU, YOU IDIOT. You were mad at him for lying about his quirk to you. You asked what was going on (loudly). You accused him of lying to you your whole life. So he told you the truth. Because he can lie to his mom, and he can lie to his friends and teachers and the entire freaking world. But he cannot lie to YOU. Because he loves you. Idiot baka.Â
Oh and whatâs that music playing there? Why does that sound familiar? YOU SAY RUN YOU SAY RUN YOU SAY RUN ITâS BACK. And you know? Thatâs I think because YSR symbolizes Dekuâs heroic inspiration. The inspiration he both takes in and gives to others. And here, heâs both being inspired by Kacchan, and inspiring him at the same  time.
Now Kacchan is doing the same. âChosen oneâ He knows. Deku is better. Heâs gotta surpass him.
LOL THIS IS FUNNY. THEY SURE BICKER LIKE THEYâRE MARRIED.
This shot composition. Get it? ALL MIGHTâS THE THING BETWEEN âEM.
Oh and this. Yay some character development from Kacchan! Another nice moment of his in this ep. Three times!Â
All Might Metaâs a bit about how Kacchan took responsibility and felt bad and does a Mom guilt trip on Dadzawa. Theyâre getting to be kinda married too now. Â
âI went in pretty HARDâ. OMG stop it youâre making me think bad things again. Just F*CK already.
Their first act as a married couple is to clean the house together. OMG domestic fluff.Â
And now for the best Post-credits scene ever.Â
Wow Uraraka ships it so bad.Â
Oh and some Todobaku bonus! Aw I guess Bakugou just turned down his 3some offer.Â
Ooh awkward silence.Â
YAY! Though they did kinda wreck it by having Deku bring it up instead of KacchanÂ
NOW THEYâRE HEALTHY ENOUGH TO TALK TO EACH OTHER LIKE HUMAN BEINGS.
Kacchan just praised me. Life is good.
Episode 61 is my favorite episode of my favorite show. I think itâs the best and will never be topped. Feels, left and right. Itâs really just perfect. Funny, all 3 of the transcendent, best-of-the-best BNHA eps (This, 49 and 23) are basically just two characters fighting for 20 minutes. Nothing more or less. Yet theyâre all so, so good. And this one isâŠI donât even know how to put it into words. Itâs a phenomenal tour-de-force of acting, visuals, animation, music, and of course, writing, all combining together to be just absolutely unsurpassable. Everything that makes this series good, boiled down to itâs essence. And yes, this did seal the deal for me with BKDK. I liked it before, but this made it a done deal. No going back. And I love it.
BEST GIRL OF THE EP: Uraraka for being so supportive.
RANKER: Top 5 Best Moments of This Episode: (itâs really more like a top 50)
5. Dekuâs little Dance number
4. True Rivals at Last
3. True feelings at last
2. The Image of Victory Speech

Observation Diary of Soramafu #1
((warning: extra long post about my ramblings of soramafuâŠ))
Was watching Hikimaru 2nd Ep 1 on Yahoo!Japan and I realised how precious soramafuâs relationship is, from their own perspectives. They were drawing a correlation diagram about the utaitesâ relationship with one another. And soramafuâs personal correlation to each other was the last one (they decided early on with AtR as a mutual correlation between them)
(Please note I still have limited understanding of Japanese but can generally figure out what theyâre saying and read the Japanese subtitles)
First, Soraru was saying how this last one is the most difficult. Urasaka were hyping them from the background, Sakata said something like thereâs probably a lot that they can say about each other. Both Soraru and Mafu meekly denied.
Then Soraru said, âletâs go with Mafumafuâs firstâŠâ
So Mafu - - - > Soraru:
Mafumafu: Well, can I go with âaikataâ?
Japanese music community nowadays use this term as âpartnerâ. So itâs understandable why mafu chose it. But I personally feel itâs stronger than your usual âaibouâ which also means partner, this is more like between bros. While aikata can also be used to describe significant others. We know how grateful mafu is to have soraru in his life due to a traumatic incident prior to AtR formation. Itâs a simple term yet it carries a thousand meanings and stories behind it.
Mafu then apologised for deciding that on his own as he wrote on the whiteboard (even though itâs nothing to be sorry for! =w=;). He then asked, âHow about you, Soraru-san?â
Soraru: Iâm not sure what to say..
Sakata: *lightly taps soraruâs thigh* make sure itâs a moving/emotional one!
Soraru - - - > Mafu:
Soraru:Then, itâs âaiâ. (ai = love)
Coming from such a serious and straightforward person like soraru, I honestly donât think he said that just to impress others. He decided only after he had given it some thoughts. And we all know how deep âaiâ is compared to 'daisukiâ or just 'sukiâ. Really, it left me with the thought that 'oh he truly cares for and treasures mafumafuâ both as music partners and someone important to him.
(Urasaka losing it in the background made me loled so much, others were also reacting strongly, clapping or saying things likeâ itâs endless love!â, Senra literally did a bowing gesture as well lol)
But then mafu unexpectedly revealed the other time he and soraru went drinking, soraru was a bit drunk then and said something to mafu. Soraru panicked and quickly said 'stop itâ in case mafu reveals something embarrassing but mafu continued anyway, a drunk soraru once told him;
Mafumafu: âI love you 7, but hate you 3â (ratio 7 love: 3 hate)
Everyone laughed and some of them insisted they use this term for soraruâs description of mafu instead so thatâs what mafu went with in the end lol đ but mafu added, afterwards soraru cried and they hugged each other (these two are too adorable istg)
Overall, it was refreshing, funny, cute and even if you canât understand them, their reactions and interactions are funny by themselves! There are a total of 8 episodes for Hikimaru 2nd. Emma (differentoceans) and Bria (idkbria) usually translate anything utaite related on their twitter accs but itâll be a bit difficult to read the translations separately from the show itself and finding them translations is even way harder but hey, itâs better than nothing! Go and give their show a watch here, full title Hikikomori Demo OO Shitai! 2nd:

Thanks to whomever still reading this mess of a post until the end! Have a wonderful day/evening ahead of ya! :D (sincerely, my 3 last remaining brain cells at 3 am writing this)

I should have written this earlier when Witcher Netflix was more fresh in my mind (I haven't done a proper rewatch yet) but I still wanted to write a post about some thoughts I had (that I actually remember lol) and stuff I want in the next season. It's like 99% about Geralt/Yen/Ciri bc I have three brain cells and they're dedicated to them.
The spoiler-free stuff: I definitely loved it! There's some scenes in the book that I would have loved to have seen on screen that I'll mention later, but I really liked it for the most part. My main issue is the pacing, but I understand them trying to fit so much into only 8 episodes -- I hope next season will have at least 10 or even 12 eps to fully flesh out the storylines. There were times where I wondered how easy it was to follow if you didn't know the books, and it seems that it's kinda been mixed? But all-in-all people are loving it, there's lots of memes and new content, and I'm happy about that.
Yennefer's backstory and Anya Chalotra were the highlights for me, and I loved Tissaia as well. By "I haven't done a proper rewatch" I mean that I've only rewatched the first ep (Renfri â€ïž) and the parts with Geralt/Yennefer lmao. I'll prob watch it all again later on. Now to the spoilery stuff (includes some refs to the books):
Some specific stuff I liked:
Geralt finally being able to sleep in the Last Wish episode and then him saying in the next ep that before he met Yen, "nights were restless" so she/the thought of her helps him sleep now? lol
Yen touching Geralt's face after he tells her she's important to him as if she can't believe she's important to someone right then and needs to make sure he's real or that she's not dreaming đ
TĂ©a and VĂ©a and how they actually talked instead of not really communicating well themselves in the books
Yen's elven blood being emphasized and it being a thing that allows her to be naturally inclined towards magicâŠidek I'm just into that lmao
Geralt "hm"-ing all the time was excellent and is, unfortunately, v relatable
I wasn't gonna say this but since I posted about his casting on my blog previouslyâŠI'm still not a fan of Henry but I cannot deny his knowledge and dedication to Geralt and the Witcher lore, and I think he portrayed Geralt very well to the point where I donât think I imagine anyone else playing the role now? I really mean this bc before I refused to reblog/tweet anything with him in it bc Iâm petty LMAO
This is obvious but Toss a Coin to Your Witcher is the song of the year and Her Sweet Kiss is also good. @ netflix soundtrack WHEN
Some stuff I have issues with:
Istredd getting an expanded storyline is fine with me (and will probably set up better angst) but I wish he didn't do the thing Geralt does in Thanedd where he thinks about things Yen likesâŠI guess that's minor by itself, but Geralt thinking about the house in Thanedd is so important and I hope at least they keep that for the future. Also making the imaginary sorcerers Yennefer conjured up clap like in Thanedd is likeâŠok I'll allow it but Thanedd better be Extra Good bc I remember reading the part where they're in bed again when I wanted to make myself upset lmao
I wish we got the line when Geralt first called Yennefer "Yen" because "nobody's ever called me that. Say it again" is SO POWERFUL and I think that would have helped set up Geralt/Yen better in the series. Anya did describe the relationship as "animalistic and full of lust" and honestly that's fair but I also want people to understand why tf I'm smiling when we watch them fuck after the last wish instead of being like "ok but where did this come from" lmao. Yeah theyâre horny af but pls!!!
Tbh I just want more Angst...like in the Bounds of Reason ep, the "you left" thing and Geralt asking for forgiveness was so short and would have been better if they justâŠexpanded on it a little moreâŠidek this is where I really wished they had an extra episode or two just to elaborate :/
The lack of baby dragon is so sad tbh. I liked that they did without Yen getting her titties exposed and threatened with rape obviously but the baby dragon running over to Yen tho!!
Ciri is my sweet child whom I love dearly and I understand her storyline but I wasn't super into her parts in a way? It makes sense since she's running and hiding and I felt her panic and loneliness and all that, but I think this could have only been fixed if they did Brokilon like in the books. I guess they'd have to cut down on Calanthe maybe?
As for the "Who is Yennefer?" ending:
I know many book readers weren't super satisfied with this, since ofc this is the famous "you're something more" scene, but I think it's fine within the context of the show because of the way Brokilon was handled (obviously I would have liked to see Geralt + Ciri interactions so we could have gotten âsomething moreâ though). It also sets up a connection between Yen + Ciri early on -- not really a strong one, but a connection nonetheless. And ofc it makes sense to people who don't know the books, and this is an adaptation after all.
I wish it wasn't as abrupt though? The fact that Ciri's first words to Geralt were about Yennefer is kind of a weird, but I guess that Ciri's vision was so vivid she couldn't help it maybe? And her mentioning Yennefer after Geralt talked about being linked by destiny enforces that it's all three of them linked.
I think this ending line allows for flashbacks via communication? Like if Geralt were to tell Ciri about Yen (and Yen telling Ciri about Geralt), they could elaborate on the relationship between Geralt/Yennefer that way and maybe have a flashback episode or at least a few scenes. I donât really imagine Geralt saying too much about Yen but still?
So that takes us to things I want in the next season (not exhaustive; I need to do a BoE re-read):
The Dear Friend letter!!
And obviously before that, Triss staying at Kaer Morhen for a whileâŠI wouldn't mind if they completely wrote out any attraction she had to Geralt ofc, but Ciri being sure that Triss is "not Geralt's woman" is also good
Imagine Ciri reading Yennefer's mind and accidentally seeing her thoughts about GeraltâŠnot that she'd even need to though, as long as Yen tells Ciri that Geralt's hands are very gentle is enough lmao. But I'd love the "what is there between you and Geralt" line! In general, I really want Yen/Geralt to be like, the most obvious thing to the audience lol.
Yen telling Ciri that she's lucky bc Ciri knows that Geralt will come back for her and Yen isn't sure that Geralt would do the same for her đ
Since they're doing the story with Nivellen, I'm hoping for other short stories to be adapted too. My favourite is A Shard of Ice, and I read that it's Henry's favourite too so I'm optimistic about it being included somehow. And since Istredd has a bigger role, it could work? ALSO WE NEED EVERYONE TO KNOW ABOUT THE UNICORN. PLEASE
Flashbacks to Belleteyn (is having another orgy scene ok. pls say yes) and the Geralt seeing that the 14th name on the hill wasn't Yennefer. He wanted to die again ahhhhhhh
Yarpen asking Geralt "is [Ciri] yours?"
More Jaskier songs about Geralt/YenâŠeven just one pls
And more angst bc like. There's so much come on lmao hurt the audience
A lot of Yennefer + Ciri. Just a Lot of it.
#untaintedtext#sorry this is long bc i can't keep things short lmao#the witcher#the witcher spoilers#tagging bc i'm lonely bc i creep instead of interacting LMAO#it's long tho i don't expect ppl to read it haha#but it's still time for Sam's Opinion#anyway @ all my friends and followers hi have you see the witcher yet

SnK S3E12Â Poll Results (Manga Reader Version)
The poll closed with 487 responses. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Please note that this is the results of the manga reader poll. Anime only watchers are suggested not to read if you do not wish to be spoiled about certain events! Anime only viewers, click here to view your poll results!
RATE THE EPISODE 481 Responses
The final episode of the first half of S3 was another banger with positive reactions. Compared to earlier in the season when manga readers seemed more dissatisfied with the adaptation, we are happy to see that the final episodes of the arc turned out to be a much more positive experience!
Considering this episode was essentially just the calm before the storm, I was pleasantly entertained by it. Not the best episode because not a whole lot happened, but still it did what it needed to do.
I was super worried they would change something in this episode but thank Ymir-sama it's okay.
IT WAS AWESOME AND THAT ENDING IS ONE OF THE BEST THING THIS ANIME HAS EVER MADE!
This episode was so good! And funny! And angsty at the end! All the ingredients that make a good AOT episode
Very good, the preview was spooky and the whole episode had humor to lighten the mood, some emotional stuff and High Anxiety Cliffhangers to finish us off. Its gonna be a long 6 months.
HOW WOULD YOU RATE THE FIRST HALF OF SEASON 3 AS A WHOLE? 481 Responses
Overall, the first half of season three was satisfying for manga reading poll takers despite the changes.
All in all, absolutely stunning season. From the bottom of my heart, thank you WIT.
It was a really good episode. It followed manga perfectly. Every ep. of Uprising should has been like that. Too bad it wasn't, that why I rated the whole series pretty lowly. Honestly, I expected something better. But that was fine, not the worst. Yet, I would have changed a lot.
Really good way to end this half of the season. Can't wait to see the next half. It was nice to see a "calm before the storm" episode.
It was a brilliant idea to end the first part of season 3 right there, by doing this we were given proper construction to this arc.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE SEASON TAKING A BREAK UNTIL APRIL? 481 Responses
About 37% of respondents are sad to see the anime take a break, but nearly half of voters are fine with the break stating that itâs not too bad of a wait, with some who are even looking forward to the breather for a bit (weâre looking forward to having a good rest as well although we will miss the anime!).
I'm okay with it since it means that we will a get a really well made RtS arc. But they really should've said that the break was going to be this long earlier. Or just called it season 4
Waiting is something we SnK fandom know how to do, unfortunately
As a manga reader it's easy to not be too upset since we'll have plenty of chapters during that time.
It's nice to get a breather before shit hits the fan.
I donât mind waiting 6 months when I know it means the animation will look a lot nicer as a result
I feel like i would have been less upset if they just told us from the start how its gonna be... I hated the uncertainty
If it means a fantastic second cour then I'm all for it. I mean my life is empty and I wish I were dead, but other than that I've accepted it!
6 months for preparing myself to let Erwin rest in peace
I AM NOT READY FOR RTS THIS IS LITERALLY THE FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO A HIATUS WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WIT
WAIT Studio
Does Annie have some space next to her for the next 6 months?
WHICH OF THE FOLLOWING SCENES WERE YOUR FAVORITES? 480 Responses
The Survey Corpsâ sendoff was the most favorite moment of the episode, followed closely by Eren and Jeanâs nostalgic fight. Levi and Erwinâs talk after the meeting made it to third most favorite scene of the episode, followed closely behind by Eren, Armin and Mikasaâs conversation. Everyone losing their minds over meat was another favorite.
Erwin was so perfect, I loved his little laugh, I thought the whole interaction with him and Levi was done so well... god, I'm gonna miss him so much, it actually hurts.
Good breather episode, comedy gold with the dinner scenes, and the send-off was just as fun as it was touching. Also, the extra scene was creepy and great, but I hope anime-only watchers don't spoil themselves trying to find the meaning to it...
I think they did a really good work with the Erwin x Leviv talk, and EMA talk... Since enfatizing Erwin's reasons, and showing Armin's, It became more clear Levi's choice in future
I loved EMA talk... it made me pretty sad because of the events which now are taking place in the manga. That was good to see them together in the anime.
My Eruri shipping heart was in tatters, I tell you. I've been looking forward to the ""I'll break your legs"" scene for ages now, and shit, watching it was a literal punch to the gut. Erwin's beautiful roar of victory on the wall, his final ""SUSUME"" just... I was in awe.
Sasha nomming on Jeanâs hand was even funnier animated
The 104th dinner scene was just perfect! It's been so long since we had a scene of such warmhearted camaraderie, it really brought back all my season 1 feels for the babies. Beautifully done.
Overall great Episode, really liked how they foreshadowed Erwins Demise and his conversation with Levi, EMA talk was great too, and the serumbowl scene made for an amazing cliffhanger
DID THE GLITCHED ENDING SCARE YOU? 483 Responses
The abrupt reminder that SNK is a horror anime definitely seemed to work! Â The majority of people were scared by the ending at least a little bit, and some were thoroughly terrified.
"Blink and you'll miss it" my a**
Honestly it reminded me of how horrid the show actually is. I forget it's not all cute and funny scenes with a tinge of "yikes" that happened, but instead vice versa
I knew it was coming in the ED but didn't know WHEN and I was just anticipating it like a dark corridor in a horror movie XD
Moreso that scare me, it got under my skin and just stayed in my head the rest of the day.
Scare is not the right word. The option I'm looking for is FUCKING WRECKED
I learned that apparently a lot of you watch shit alone in the dark. But to answer the question, no, not at all.
It thrilled me to see them cleverly setting up the next half of the season this way
Only the Levi's distorted "you guys". The glitched ending was awesome
I saw some screencaps of it prior to watching so I was somewhat prepared but it was way creepier than i thought it would be, it spooked me
It wasn't actually SCARY, but I fucking loved it. So twisted and creepy
rip ears in that ending, it makes for some great youtube reactions though lol
Well, mark me down as scared and horny
SHOULD ZACKLEYâS ART BE REALIZED? 478 Responses
We suppose the real question is, when will Zackleyâs âartâ stop becoming something we ask about? :P All in all, most of you agree that it should not be seen or talked about. 21% of you are still finding humor in it.
HOW MUCH DID YOU ENJOY THE SEQUENCE OF EREN AND JEAN FIGHTING? 483 Responses
Most of the viewers enjoyed Eren and Jeanâs antics with 84% rating the scene with a 4 out of 5 or higher.Â
Mikasa letting them fight and not dragging Eren way is the best part! It's such an important character development for her. Also this Episode was full of parallels to their training days. Great episode.
Eren and Jean bringing the Dramaâą (as expected of Eren and Jean)
THE SURVEY CORPS HAS NEVER EXPERIENCED A SEND-OFF LIKE THEY DID IN THIS EPISODE - FAVORITE PART OF THIS SCENE? 481 Responses
The surreal experience of getting a positive send-off like this made Erwinâs smile and shout the overwhelming winner here, and for good reason! Â A smaller portion of respondents enjoyed Springlestein being themselves and a few called out Leviâs face in the comments:
All of it. Because it will be the first and the last time we'll see it
YYYYEEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
Levi looking at screaming Erwin like "WTF Erwin"
Hange smile
LEVI'S SOFT LOOK
I like the manga version better because Levi's smile was softer there
Levi's expression when Erwin did his triumphant shout.
literally everything about it was perfect
WOULD YOU LET LEVI BREAK YOUR LEGS? 480 Responses
While 58% of respondents cannot understand why anybody would want their legs broken by Levi, a small percentage were even asking for it.
THE EPISODE WENT EXACTLY AS THE ORIGINAL MANGA! 478 Responses
So, the story behind this one is that one of the pollsters posted this âquestionâ on our original document as a joke while another one of us was at work. When the one at work got off, they put the question onto the poll form while the person who created the âquestionâ was not online, not realizing it was meant to be an unpublished joke. This was completely overlooked during the final proofread. It was never actually intended to make it onto the poll but since one of us always tries to rush through things, here we are! In any case, we hope you guys had a good laugh, because we all collectively lost it when we realized the mistake much too late!
wow y'all throwin shade with this Q huh
Yes, it is Erwin's birthday celebration after all
Glad that Erwin and the crowdâs screaming was a âdialogueâ and that he screamed again.
Makes sense, given how its purpose is to set up the new arc. Not much need to leave things out for the sake of pacing.
They done it so perfectly! I love that episode and love the hope in the air, my man similing and being happy, I love they see people cheering for them. THAT was earned.
It still modified some moments like Armin thinking of Eren and Mikasa instead of the bullies in the manga. Maybe it's better and more consistent with the following events.
Thanks God! The whole series should has been this way. Compared to the sad 1st episode of Uprising, this one was a true masterpiece.
u people need to get the salt in your blood checked, let others be dissatisfied with something they care about? please and thanks
i don't care if it went exactly as the original manga or with some changes as long as the episode is good
THE CHAPTER SIGNIFIED THE START OF A NEW ARC, BUT THE ANIME USED IT TO END THE FIRST COUR, WAS THIS A BENEFICIAL DECISION? 478 Responses
The majority of folks thought shifting the send-off to the end of the cour to create an uplifting cliffhanger was a good way to end the season. Â Several people called attention to how much contrast was felt between such a positive ending and the credits scene.
I think it works great, especially the triumph of the send off and the "oh shit, what's happening" moment in the ED
should have been the first ep of the next arc, with the send off as the cliffhanger
It was a nice, fun send off for the arc. Has the suspense of the scouts going towards the foes. The next episode with the next chapter/s will be perfect for getting back into the series after 6 months
WAIT Studio used it as an effective cliffhanger but from an adaptation perspective it's just like the Wall Titan. Something to keep the audience's attention at the cost of the narrative's flow. If the season was going to be split then rushing the Uprising Arc at breakneck speed resulting in one extra episode was pointless.
The opening of 73 is a perfect opening for the second cour, so I knew from the beginning of the season that ending in this chapter would be their aim. The second half won't struggle for content, and they can either push ahead flashbacks (I expect some of Bert's parts from 96 making it into the adaptation of 77) or content that didn't make it in the first half used to extend other parts (Eren's experiments for Armin realizing how to beat Bert in 81)
I think this will help the second part by being on the way to Shiganshina to start it off.
Heck cliffhangers!
LEVI WASNâT EXPLICITLY SHOWN EAVESDROPPING UNTIL THE END OF EMAâS CONVERSATION, DO YOU THINK THIS DIMINISHED THE FORESHADOWING? 478 Responses
The vast majority of respondents agreed that as long as we saw him listening to them, thatâs ultimately all that matters. A small few believe that not showing him listening in on them earlier will diminish the overall impact when he makes his decisions later, however.
I don't think it matters, especially if the anime includes a flashcut to this moment post-decision, which will make its important even more obvious for viewers who may not remember this scene at all.
I'm not sure, I guess it did seem more ambiguous here. They'll flashback to it when serumbowl happens though.
Wouldnât have spent more time on it. This show is about subtle details. I think its ok.
It still worked, but I would have liked it to have been made clear that he saw Armin's expression when he was talking about the ocean
No, but i think it was nice in the manga to see that at the beginning of the conversation he was standing and ended up on the floor by the end of it. Small detail, but i took it like he didn't mean to listen in the beginning but decided to stay in the end because of what he was hearing?
No, because it was a detail it meant a lot more. Subtle details have greater impact in visualities, manga is a different medium and the scene was used properly for its medium.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT WIT SHOWING *THAT PART* OF THE RTS ARC AS A TEASER? 480 Responses
38% of respondents believe that the teaser was a great way to keep interest in the series high. 20% specifically feel that it will keep the anime only fans invested. About 21% of respondents combined donât think it was the smartest choice on WITâs end while almost 10% are just not ready to see that animated at all.
Even though I already know what will happen, my body *isn't* ready for this shit to come, except for the lightning spears
Honestly, I thought it was stupid as fuck and a cheap way to keep hype up for anime-only people. I would've preferred my anime-only friend to go into RTS completely blind.
I think it's great because it lends itself a lot of hype for the next half as well as leaving it very open ended. Especially because they cut out lines about the serum.
I think this teaser shocked more the manga readers than the anime onlines.
It's the worst part of the manga they could spoil. I'm not sure what they intend to do by showing such a controversial moment
It was brilliant. Anime only watchers don't often get the experience of agonizing over certain cliffhangers monthly, but with this flashforward looming in their head, they have a whole season of suffering ahead of them. SUFFER LIKE US, ANIME ONLIES!
I really liked it but I think they could have shown a part of Bert/Reiner/Zekeâs convo since we saw Bert and Reiner at the end of the episode, and it would have anime-onlies wondering who the glasses guy is
I was shocked and hyped at seeing them include this scene, but at the same time Iâm sad that anime-onlies were spoiled that at the very least Mikasa, Eren, and Levi will survive until this scene, destroying any tension of them dying
I'm really conflicted; on one hand, I was very surprised in a positive way, cause it was a ballsy and unexpected move. On the other hand, I understand that anime viewers might be sick of spoilers bc of the scene at the beginning of ep1.
It gave me anxiety lol. Please someone save my babies from their horrible destiny
One hell of a cliffhanger and I can't really imagine anything better to show everything going wrong (Colossal nuke is way too obvious, for example), but the people complaining about spoilers do have a point...
WHAT ARE YOUR EXPECTATIONS FOR RTSâS ADAPTATION? 480 Responses
WHAT SEGMENTS OF RTS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING ANIMATED NEXT COUR? 481 Responses
Over half of respondents feel that the Return to Shiganshina arc will be delivered just as well as Uprising was. 37% of respondents feel it will be much better than Uprisingâs adaptation. A small few donât have much faith in the second half of the four.
FUCK ME UP!! R.I.P. ANIME ONLIES
GIMME THE 2ND COUR NOW!
I don't know if I'm emotionally prepared for this arc
Iâm going to have 6 more months to mentally prepare myself for the return to shiganshina arc and I still wonât be ready
from an adaptation perspective it's going to be the same as the previous seasons. WAIT Studio excels at certain aspects of packaging SnK into anime, but as a whole it's a bad, rather than amazing, adaptation.
Is there a "NOPE I am not ready for RtS arc" in the questions?
WHAT SEGMENTS OF RTS ARE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING ANIMATED NEXT COUR? 481 Responses
The most anticipated segment of the Return to Shiganshina arc is the suicide charge + Levi totally wrecking Zeke. Following closely behind are the basement reveal, the serumbowl, Grishaâs diaries and flashbacks, the ocean and the showdown with the 104th and Reibert.Â
Kill me! I cannot believe I have to wait 6 months for RTS. 6 months until I can see Reiner and Bertholdt in action and the FREAKING BASEMENT!!!! I was fine with a 3 months break but 6 is too much ;____; I want to see Grisha's past animated
What everybody is waiting for the RtS Arc: the basement, Reibert fight, Levi soloing the beast titan, the ocean. Me, an intellectual: THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS THUNDER SPEARS (and Grisha's backstory)
can't wait to see historia looking graceful as hell in front of the sunrise while the SC goes off to fuck reibert and zeke up
The only thing I can think about is Zeke.... *screams* ZEKE AND EREN! THE JAEGERBROS! AND THE GRISHA FILES! SO MANY JAEGERS *dies*
I'm definitely looking forward to RTS okay, but I'm dreading it more, honestly. But the one thing I'm looking forward to, and really hoping they'll animate, is Levi taking down those Titans on the way to Zeke. I know the focus is on Erwin's last charge in the manga, and rightly so, but DAMN, I want to see Levi do that -I honestly don't think anyone, even Mikasa, could do what he did there.
I have a fever, and the only prescription is Season 3 Part 2
ADDITIONAL THOUGHTS ON THE EPISODE?
A pretty decent choice for a midseason finale. But most important, a pretty good choice for episode 49. Once we're back in April, the series will be celebrating having made it to 50 episodes. Just 2 years ago, we were wondering if we'd ever get episode 26, and now we're getting to a landmark episode that will be exciting and memorable! Nothing between chapters 70-72 could've worked as such a landmark, in my opinion, but chapters 73-74? Absolutely perfect for it.
And my ship finally got some screen time
But damn wit... I almost got a heart attack because of the glitched ending!! Please, I at least want to survive to see manbun Eren animated
For anime watchers: I enjoyed watching your confusion over that ED. May you all be prepared by April 2019.
My heart is filled with so much Eruri that I may cry. You could literally see how much concern Levi had for Erwin in his eyes.
I love Bertoto and Raina more than myself. Guess, I'll die in April.
I'm an Erwin Loverâą and the show is gonna come back right around my birthday so this was Great and I'm Fine
It was out of character to see Eren fully clothed.
The moment when SC were cheered up and Erwin was so confident and happy and then they left into the sunset gave me goosebumps and almost made me cry :') it was a beautiful, strong, encouraging moment for SC!!
Let me just tell you how fucking HYPED I am for the next season after those previews during the ED. HYPED. And Jesus fuck yes, Armin looked like a charred French fry that got left behind in the oil. THANK JESUS. I was afraid WIT might downplay that, but no, my boy gonna be the CRONCHIEST.
The glitches were great and not too spoiler-y but WIT absolutely ruined it with the Eren/Mikasa/Levi scene. They showed too much.
rip ears in that ending, it makes for some great youtube reactions though lol
Erwin looked fine as fuck
Wit, you better be paying for my doctor visit. My ears were bleeding with your little trick you pulled at the end.
This episode. THIS FUCKING EPISODE. Man what a way to end the cour. REALLY, standing ovation to WIT. That glitch ending was just like that tiny Titan-in-the-wall scene at the end of season 1 that made me go looking for the manga. Absolutely brilliant stuff.
Thanks for these polls.

TW Script liveblog - Season 1 Episode 1: Wolf Moon
Or, as it is otherwise known:
Teen Wolf Scripts!
Check it out, Wolfiends. This is a loooooong post consisting of screenshots of the Teen Wolf script alongside my own rambling commentary. I'm not here to review the show; finer minds than myself have got that covered. Nor is it a photo-recap; that has been done by crazier bastards than myself. What I am here for is scraping the bottom of the barrel so hard I'm eating splinters, give me that Teenage Lupine content, give me ALL OF THE CONTENT--
*ahem*
Excerpts have been selected based on the following criteria: 1) It did not make the final cut; 2) It substantially altered; 3) It offers extra detail not apparent from the show, such as description and direction;Â and 4) I felt like including it.Â
Fun times (and, obviously, a hell of a lot of spoilers) below the cut.
(What the heckie do these colours mean? We may never know)
So let's get started.
Answering the real questions here: Scott's shirtlessness was script mandated, not just a case of Posey being slightly allergic to clothes. Let's all take a moment to think about Scott's lithe frame and then go to jail reminisce over how it felt when we had no idea what he would come to mean to us. Sigh.
Aaaaand paydirt! Here is a lovely little scene we never saw on screen.
Doesn't really tell us anything we didn't learn soon enough, but any McCall family time is time well spent. And I'm not sorry they deleted the casual clumsiness from Scott's intro, so I can keep my headcanon that he had mad lacrosse skills from all his practising but just couldn't play due to asthma.
A wild Stiles appears!
And it is the perfect intro to his character, easy to see why they didn't change a thing. DOB nailed it.Â
Before long, we are introduced to--
-- Wait, hold up, who? Looks like Stiles's dad got a promotion sometime between "Double Buff" and filming. Congrats, John  Michael  Noah!
Seriously, though, consider the extra layer of politics and secrecy that would have been going on if he was just a deputy rather than Sheriff. Â What a different show it would have been, especially in later seasons.Â
WHY, JEFF DAVIS? Â WHY ARE YOU COMMENTING ON THE âBEAUTYâ OF A GHASTLY SEVERED CORPSE? Â HOW IS THIS WOMAN'S ATTRACTIVENESS OR OTHERWISE RELEVANT TO THE SITUATION? Â DID SCOTT PAUSE MID-PANIC TO THINK "WOW SHE IS HOT (ALSO DEAD AND BISECTED)"? /end rant
But now it's time for--
--and that means
Back to school time!
Setting the scene. Californians, is this a fair representation of your high school experience? Asking for research purposes.
Also, petition for girls and girls also to be able to hold hands. Down with the patriarchy.
It's everyone's favourite juice enthusiast! Looks like the Sheriff wasn't the only one who moved up in the world over the course of the script revision process - Jackson only had a BMW here instead of his Porsche.
As with Stiles's intro, we achieve Peak Jackson in his very first scene:
*snort*
And while we're doing intros--
But wait, this is a game changer -- you think you know how it does, right? Breezing past Stiles as if he wasn't even there, completely ignoring him? Well THINK AGAIN!
Yeah I lied.
So this is new - Scott's hearing was going to be much stronger here, perceiving the caller's voice as well from that distance! What secrets shall be revealed from the other half of this conversation?
Huh. Yeah, that contributed nothing, and would have had absurd implications for werewolf hearing. Also would have been a totally banal first glimpse of Victoria Argent, which is just unacceptable.Â
Did this happen? I don't recall it. Would have been a cool shot.Â
*Curiosity is piqued*
I confuse. Is this an editing fail? Two versions of the scene that got smooshed together? Or does Lydia swoop twice (possible Banshee prefiguring)?
I like the book-spilling version. It establishes Allison as kind.
But this bit --
-- I do not like. It seems to suggest that there was always something about Allison that helped Scott control his shift, or even suppressed it? Rather than it being his feelings for her that reminded him of his humanity and strengthened his will. Nopity nope.
Now for another intro:
It's Harley!Â
Yeah, I didnât know either. I guess she got shafted for some reasonâŠwhich is a pity, because the girl has got snark.
SHOTS FIRED.
MeanwhileâŠis Harley into Scott? Were we going to have a triangle of luuurve? Not sorry we didn't, triangles are an overrated romantical shape (unless they're equilateral ones, but for some reason teen shows are all about the isosceles and I am over it), but Harley could have been an actual character. RIP, girl I could have liked.
Also RIP Harley's heart, because
Thus far we have had character intros that were Peak Stiles, Peak Jackson and Peak Lydia ('s queen bitch façade). Now we have one that is a massive understatement:
Oh, sweet summer children. We ain't seen nothing yet.
Do you sometimes forget how mutually toxic Lydia and Jackson's relationship was? Ugh.
Excellent priorities, Scott. But so far so canon.
A FIGURE
Who's it gonna be, ohmigosh mysterious figure--
Ohmigosh, is it--
*ahem* sorry
Okay I think I'm beginning to understand why we absolutely had to know about the ravishing beauty of corpse-lady: Â Jeff Davis is simply incapable of giving a description of anyone without reminding us how attractive they are. HEY EVERYONE! Â THIS IS A SHOW FOR HOT PEOPLE! Â EYE CANDY OVER HERE!
âŠwaitaminute, back the truck up.Â
WhaaAAAAAT?
*thinking forward to skeevy Kate plotline, Hale fire was 6 years ago, runnin' the numbers, doin' the math*
19 minus 6 equals âŠKATE you EFFING PEDO GET in the BIN RIGHT NOW--
--nah just kidding, they obviously decided to age him up sometime after this edit. Also, as has been observed, Jeff Davis inhabits a world blissfully innocent of such things as calendars. Â
Now I hope I have sufficiently distracted my audience with squicks and figures, because I want to sneak this one through without getting crucified.
Okay we're done here, on to--
Really, there's nothing--
One million hardcore Sterek shippers: Â *collectively lose their shit*
One innocent liveblogger: Â *hides*
All twelve Scerek shippers: Â *are validated*
Someone sensible: Â It's just one line of direction in a first meeting, it doesn't mean--
One desperate liveblogger: Â OKAY, MOVING ON
This is such a great scene -- the terror of all those panicking cats, Scott wanting to calm them but, realising he is the problem, freaks out himself -- and it just got even better, because there's something missing here that we saw on-screen.
While it could have come in a later revision, I choose to believe that singing "hey, kitties!" in greeting was just Tyler Posey's natural instinct upon walking into a room full of feline friends.
But now Allison is here, and Scott has passed off the panic baton to her.
Woooo Scott is getting his wolf on! But he doesn't seem to know it yet. I wonder from whose perspective Scott's calm is supposed to be 'odd', because I wouldn't have expected him to get worked up about an injured dog given his job. And how many wolves has Jeff Davis met? I don't think their eyes typically glow, outside of tapetum lucidum reflections. But what do I know, I'm not a zoologist.
Also -- they were supposed to have an umbrella? Budget cuts are brutal.
Do you ever forget how adorable Scallison were before things got complicated? Can I get an "Awww"?
It's also nice that they gave Allison reasons to be interested in Scott beyond 'he's cute' and 'he noticed me'. She admires him for his competence and gentleness here, she's seen him excelling at sports without being a douche about it, and their first interaction was one of generosity. This is why it's disappointing that they cut the bit where Allison helps a stranger with her books -- it's a pity they didn't show us Scott's reasons for liking Allison beyond 'she's pretty'. A sadly typical imbalance in Hollywood: boys are admirable for what they do, girls for how they look. Thank all the gods and little fishes that Allison subverts the hell out of this trope later on.
Is this or is this not the cutest interaction? It gets better:
Cats are one thing, Scotty, but you gotta think about your choices when dogs are judging you. Â Â
Now whoâs being judgemental
'Litigious', Scott? And before the word-a-day calendar regime, too. Insert comment about American litigation culture here.
Scott is definitely talking about the dog not at all about himself why would you say that--
Okay so Scott's having his weird woodsy sleepwalking dream now, and I have to go back and check because -- white? Why are the Alpha's eyes white? Sure enough:
Did they retcon the Alpha red eyes thing after the Pilot/Wolf Moon was shot Even in the earlier scene where Scott was bitten:Â
White eyes. What gives, Jeff?
While we're here, let's just take a second to appreciate Peter the Cartoon CGI Gorilla-Wolf. LOL.
Get back to the scripts woman, the photo recap thing has been covered, stay in your lane
AWKWARD. Anyway that's the same as in canon, but I initially read that as 'mysterious smile' and freaked because was that pool owner person supposed to be significant??, but no, never mind, carry on.
Meanwhile, this ep is just FULL of iconic moments.
All together now,
*sighs happily*
Was it as good for you as it was for me?
Later, at the lacrosse scrimmage:
I checked the episode, andâŠnope. No Derek stalking around on the field in this scene. That we saw.
Oh good, we hadn't seen a naked torso in a while, I was starting to worry
Who can get enough of Melissa--Scott moments? Not me, that's for sure. But wait--
Voices becoming TINNY what is happening
Someone's  creeping
*sings* âWho can it BEEE no-ow?â
*snort*
In other news, Jackson is not the only one who got a vehicular upgrade. I donât know enough about cars to discern the mystical significance of these changes. Experts please?
Ah, can't believe they cut this! Is he just embarrassed to have an inhaler in front of Allison, or does he realise on some level that his asthmatic days are over?Â
Oh yikes, is this another scene of which we were ROBBED? I want my absolute and agonizing awkward teen silence!
ROBBED, I say! Robbed of canon confirmation of Scott's dorky music taste!
Awww.
I liked Scallison well enough, but if these scenes had been included I would have been 200% sold on it from ep 1.
Confused Scydia moment! I wonder if Lydia greeted Stiles like that too, and if so how hard he flailed.
Harley again! In the version that made it to screen she and Stiles both ask Scott if he's okay. That girl should have stayed a character. *grumpy face*Â
"Deep black eyes"? "Strangely hypnotic"? Preeeeetty sure he was just standing there with his regular (insanely pretty) ambiguously green-hazel eyes; and while that was a fair attempt at a charming smile (for Derek), "hypnotic" it wasn't.
That would have been a cool visual.
âPowerfully muscularâ; âstrangely seductiveâ; âHe's given into itâÂ
I'll tell you who's into it, Jeff Davis is into it And you know what?
So am I.
*Curiosity intensifies*
A nice little moment of realisation we never got to see
This is changed up a bit -- in the show the dialogue comes before the wrestling, there's no throat-gripping (Derek holds Scott down with a hand on his chest), and we have yet to see those shiny blue eyes.
Also, demonic. *shivers*Â
That's interesting - obviously was going to be more support to the false lead of Derek being the Alpha, but they walked it back.
A bit of added urgency here
"Steps out of the darkness" -- from what we saw, Derek was just standing there next to Scott, no added drama. Add this to the 'hypnotic deep black eyes' we never saw -- can it be that the creeper-wolf that graced our screens was actually the less spooky version??
I guess they forgot to talk to the sunâs manager about their filming schedule.
Well that answers my question about how Stiles knew where to find Scott. Sort of.
Also: Aaaaaaaangst.
Aww, my heart. The bromance.
I love how it's "instantly recognisable," but in the final cut they canât help throwing in a flashback to all of three minutes ago just to make sure we recognise him. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Teen Wolf.
Yes, apparently that is Chris Argent's idea of a 'friendly smile'.
Also, sworn enemy. Lol.
Great ending to a great pilot episode! And what extra-delicious and not-at-all mouth-perforating splinters of teeny wolfy goodness does our script-reading scrape up for us?
Well, we have extra delightful domestic scenes with the McCalls; extra adorable baby flirting between our star-crossed lovers (not that they know the heavens hate them yet, shhh); a wonderful character who could have been in Harley (will she show up more in future scripts? At what point did they decide to consign her to the trash can of oblivion? Or did she just disappear because she realised she had no chance with Scott now that Allison is here?); and honestly, it ws worth it for Jacksonâs favourite word alone.Â
But clearly the most important thing we leaned from the Teen Wolf Pilot script (Double Buff edition) is that the
we know and love is NOT, in fact, the creepiest, most melodramatic, most stalkerish version of himself. He could have been worse. Watching Scott at practice earlier than we knew eavesdropping on him shirtlessly discussing sex with him mum, using strangely hypontic deep black eyes on unsuspecting teenage girls, emerging theatrically from the shadows -- just imagine, if he'd been behaving like that from the get-go, no way would Scott have trusted him. Good job toning it down, Jeff Davis!
Exeunt.

I forgot it was your SC night! Is there anything you can say about it. A detail, a morsel, a tidbit?
It was fabulous! It started with them playing Simply the Best (Tina version) Then Denver gave them a phenomenal welcome.  Basically the audience was on their feet, standing ovation, screaming, thunderous applause from the second they walked out. I think they were actually shocked and impressed at the energy and enthusiasm from the crowd. If youâve seen Emily Hampshireâs IG story of the introductions where the crowd is just going wild, it was even more loud and electric than that made it look, if you can believe it.  I saved it and can post it if anyone hasnât seen it. Safe to say the cast felt the love.Â
The full show was basically a scripted panel discussion moderated by Dan. And what I mean by âscriptedâ is that Dan asked questions that he knew had great stories behind them, so there were no duds (which you know what I mean if youâve ever watched a comic con panel or the like). There were some questions that were submitted earlier from fans, but also curated and chosen carefully so that there were really entertaining answers.Â
We got lots of great stories about the auditions. Not from Catherine and Eugene, who obviously didnât audition, but they talked about their long history of working together, all the way back to Second City.Â
Annie was at the worst part of her life when she was auditioning, her house had burned down and she had no money and decided that if she didnât get this job she was done acting (this story was funnier in the telling, lol) And she said they also called her in to read for Stevie, and then it took forever, and she waited weeks and decided that theyâd gone with someone with bigger boobs (to which Dan quipped, âYeah, because Iâm a boob man.â) And when Dan finally called her, he gave lots of dramatic pauses that made her think he was calling to let her down easy. Â
Emily was suffering from anxiety and didnât go to auditions at the time, she went to this one and ended up pretty much blacking out after she auditioned. (this story was also funnier in the telling) She ended up kind of babbling in the corner. Dan said to all aspiring actors in the audience, âdonât do this.â But he thought it was charming. She says she has no memory of it.Â
Noah was âunpreparedâ for his audition because while he had studied the script and thought about the character he hadnât seen the first two seasons of the show! Dan was giving him lots of crap for this, Noah said he eventually watched it after season 3 was done filming, to which Dan said, âI guess you were feeling pretty confident youâd be back after that kiss in the car.â
Lots was said about the âSimply the Bestâ scene. Prior to the ep Dan asked Noah if they should bring someone in to do vocals, but Noah said he wanted to do it. Dan got nervous because about a month went by and he hadnât gotten anything from Noah. Finally Noah sent about 8 different tracks recorded on his iPhone, and didnât hear back from Dan until the next day, he was very nervous. Dan meanwhile said he was a blubbering mess during that time because it was so good and perfect.
He also talked about the part of that scene where Moira reaches over and rests her hand on Davidâs arm, and how important it felt to show a parent lovingly reassuring a queer child during a moment of extreme emotional vulnerability. Â
Eugene, deadpan, then starts talking about how amazing that scene was and you donât know where heâs going when he starts to mildly criticize it⊠like, âthough⊠it could have been a much better sceneâŠâŠ. if Johnny had been in it.â (that brought the house down for about the 23rd time) Also Eugene talked about how he could not get through the golf-teaching scene between Johnny and Roland. He couldnât keep it together, just laughing too hard. Emily said they were losing light and the director was getting agitated to get the scene. Dan said the director was legit mad. However, Eugene said he didnât care cause heâs the Executive Producer. LOL.Â
Catherine talked about the accent and how she figures Moira is worldly and traveled a lot and thatâs what she picked up from all the places sheâs been instead of souvenirs. Her indistinguishable accent.Â
Prior to the panel they showed a video sizzle reel from the show, later there was also a blooper reel. They also showed some things from instagram, fan art and the like. The guy who got their faces tattooed on his calves and some excellent jack-o-lanterns with their faces. âEw Davidâ products etc. They brought some fans on stage to do Schittâs Creek trivia (written by Dan) against the cast Family Feud-style. Then when the fans âwonâ the reward was that Noah sang Simply the Best.Â
I went with a group of friends who were fans, but we ended up with one extra ticket so at the last minute I gave it to a friend who had never seen the show. She had a great time as well, thought they were all really funny and engaging and now canât wait to watch the show.
If the tour comes to your neck of the woods, I highly recommend!Â

5, 6, 11, 12, 28 and 30! ~leesungjongg :3
Thank you for the ask~~~
5. Whatâs your favorite One Great Step (their first world tour video) clip(s)?
Lol idk why but I think this clip of them rapping. Like can we take a second to appreciate how good Myungsoo is at rapping?? Like idk I just liked that style XD and Sungjong rapping!!! Infinite F are just full of cute lil rappers
6. Your favorite Infinite Showtime clip(s)?
The first ep where sunggyu shows why heâs the greatest leader, that one time Sungyeol predicted Woohyunâs dating life was ruined, that one time they put Myungsoo in a purple tracksuit and made him be dongwoo, all of that episode where they just sit in the rehearsal room and played games like idiots, just that like 3 sec of woohyun stuffing his face with bread (idk that just pops into my head sometimes. Also that one pic of sunggyu looking like joker. Just the pic. Sometimes that just also pops up in my head
11. Who is the member youâre always fond of? Like the one you can never get upset with?Ahhhh I donât think I can ever get upset with any of them? Like Infinite just immediately improves my mood. But I guess the one Iâm softest for is obviously Woohyun, especially with his solo out. Heâs just gently and precious and I want him to be protected at all costs TT
12. What impact did it have on you when Hoya left? How did you feel?
It was a weird mix of emotions for me. I was happy to hear that Infinite wasnât disbanding, sad to hear he left, worried for what that meant for him and the boys, and kinda relieved that we just had some news on their renewals. After hearing his interviews post-Infinite, it seemed like he was really feeling suffocated being in a group so of course I fully support him doing what he needs to do. I think there was a quote by Hyeri about Girlâs Day all resigning and she said something along the lines of âNo resigning shouldnât be something thatâs criticized and renewals donât need to be applaudedâ. And I think that kinda sums up how I feel now that Hoya and Infinite are going about their careers. I just want them to be happy with everything that theyâre doing.
28. What member do you have the most in common with?Hmmmm I guessâŠon an emo level, Woohyun XD I relate a lot to some of the struggles he has been talking about. But also with how he complains that sometimes he just likes to bum around the house and play video games. Like same. Then thereâs this post that reminds me of why Iâm like Sunggyu (why on earth did this get 34 reblogs XD) because food+sleep>everything else. I think my sense of humor might be closest to Hoya/Woohyun.
30. What are your thoughts on each of the members as a person? As a leader? As a teammate?
Sunggyu- I think heâs an amazing leader and you can tell how much all the other members really respect him. The stories about him during contract renewals and the story Sungjong told about seeing him again makes me so TTTT He seems like such a stable and solid support for people around him. Heâs also suchâŠ.a good person? Like how heâs willing to be the butt of jokes to get laughs and how the other members always tell stories of Sunggyu cheering them on in their solo projects. I need him to be my best friend.
Dongwoo- Heâs suchâŠ.a happy person. It gets said a lot but I think seeing him makes me realize how much I need more people like him in my life. Heâs the type to make lemons out of lemonade. Like how other members may sometimes complain about not having schedules (they have the right to) but heâll just be like âIâve been getting into VR games lately!â And heâs so humble. He has so much talent as a singer/rapper/dancer/AND ACTOR OMG HAVE YOU SEEN THOSE CLIPS OF HIM ON IRON MASK. The world needs to see more of dongwoo.
Woohyun- HeâsâŠ..the softest pile of love and needs to be protected at all costs. Iâve talked a lot about him this past month so I wonât go too overboard. I love his dorky/mischievous personality, but I also love the fact that heâs so open about talking about his struggles because I donât think enough people talk about it (like you said ^^) also, I wanna take a second to mention how sweet he is to his members? Like how he bought Myungyeol heating vests for when they were filming in the cold and how he was the only one to watch a bit of miss hammurabi and congratulate him on it? Heâs such a sweetheartâŠ.I think I went overboard.
Sungyeol- My buff bean pole :D lol jk I donât think those can coexist. I love how extroverted he is? Like how heâs willing to lay down image and just be the life of the party. I think heâs mentioned before that heâd considered doing a ballad or something for the fanmeeting but opted to do something more fun and energetic since all the other members were doing more mellow songs? I just thought that was so sweet of him. I wonder if he wanted to showcase what he can do musically (like singâŠOR EVEN RAP LIKE DROP A MIXTAPE) but had instead chosen to do something fun for the crowd. Idk I just wonder sometimes XD heâs always that kind of subtly sweet person that quietly shows support but I really hope everyone appreciates what a gem he is as he steps out more as an actor.
Myungsoo- marshemellooooooooow. Lol what a squishy bean. I kinda love the weirdo that he can be when heâs hyper. It almost feels like giving a kid too much sugar. But jokes aside, heâs such a kind and supportive person. He talked about it himself how he flew out to japan to support woohyunâs first solo mv shoot. Like thatâs so extra but also so sweet TT and he visited woohyunâs second mv shoot and was the only one to go to sunggyuâs completion ceremony. Heâs such a considerate person (members pls love him more). I feel like he always gets promoted individually a lot but he never forgets to mention his members (except at his award speech LOL) and that just speaks to how humble and kind he is.
Sungjong- our brave warrior who was the one chosen to be Infiniteâs maknae in this lifetime. The poor baby :âD It canât be easy to take all the savagery but he does it and even goes on to say things like âitâs because they really like meâ. LIKE HOW MUCH SWEETER AND PRECIOUS CAN A PERSON BE? He also seems like such a pure person? Like idk how to explain it. Maybe innocent is a better word? It comes out a lot when heâs on variety shows. He puts out this kind of naive vibe that translates into a lot of laughs (think infamous crotch trapping on knowing bros). I love that heâs really beginning to develop into a variety star/mc. Heâs so quirky and funny in his own way and Iâm glad the world can see~~
âŠ.this turned really long. Iâm sorry XD
đsend me and inspirit askđ
#inspirit asks#leesungjongg#lol this was soooo long i'm sorry#i feel like it's been a while since i've gotten to fangirl over all of the#*them

Scorpion 4x05 Thoughts:
My episode review post for Scorpion S4 ep 4x05:Â
LONG POST, CONTAININGÂ SPOILERS...UNDER THE CUT:Â
Moments:
Happy/Cabe scene (father/grandpa-daughter scene). I love this scene mainly for the following four reasons: 1) Happy, the mechanic, fixing Cabeâs new old car, 2) Dad/Grandpa-Daughter/Kid scene -Â them talking about recent events, 3) Happysâ got babies & diapers on her mind! - her word choice is again very revealing, and 4) a mention of Happyâs idol, Elon Musk.
STORK! Yet another acronym. The new Quintis plan! Iâm quite certain that STORKâs fate is the same as PANNS/SCABOBIâs... theyâll drop it..soon! But I still love that they talked about wanting a baby, and came up with a plan (between lst  this ep... so during the past 2 days in their universe)...even if it is STORK. But these DORKS with their STORK & acronyms. Itâs so âtheir thingâ. Just like the costumes, the âdate night at homeâ installing security systems...etc...Â
Oh, Toby... you really know how to share TMI. Toby âI'm glad you asked, so let me tell you a bout our private lives..in detail...â Curtis, when heâs told not to share his story.
Little Tobina. Youâre funny, Toby, but so wrong, when you think youâll be naming the Quintis baby Tobina..or something similar. Though Tobina (a âversionâof his own name, Toby) sounds like a girlâs name, so itâs a girl, right?
Sly is taking the bar exam! (but just like the prisons in this shows universe let visitors waltz into the prison cell of a dangerous criminal with cellphones & forearms in their packets - see 401, they allow cellphones into exam room... and none of it is any problem/issue LOL)
Walt still feel an âoutsiderâ even among a family of geniuses surrounding him. His âno homeâ comment kinda reminds you of what he told to Linda at the end of 2x15, right? He feels âstrangeâ even among âpeople like himselfâ. This has been a theme in the past, and now mentioned again...
Itâs RAY-STARSWIPE! Oh, Ray.. and his marketing video! Its so embarrassing that its funny! Makes you wonder what else Ray did during his recent short stay at the Garage (just before Quintis wedding)
Toby & Happy are running late, because theyâve got some personal planning to do..again (in 3x13 it was the wedding planning, in 4x05 itâs the STORK project)
âWhat is it with Quintis & acronyms?â ;) - Like father, like son. AKA that moment, when Cabe & Walter say/ask the same question (in 4x03 they both said âThatâs an interesting development!â about Ralphâs interest in Patty! And theyâve done it before, too, like in 3x20, when they both commented that âQuintis [bicker] sound like theyâve been married forever/for yearsâ ) Also: exactly what I asked when I read it.Â
I love Cabe in the âsleep capsuleâ...singing âGloriaâ to himself... PS. At first I was kind of sad that they didnât use (probably for legal reason...cause they didnât get the right to use the song originally written as the one playing on the stuck cassette) the original song planned to be stuck in that cassette player, but now I kinda like that it was a different song. âGloriaâ worked wonderfully during the Cabe/car etc scenes! PS. For anyone not familiar with 1980s music or how to google things, the song is "Gloriaâ by Laura Branigan (1982 hit) WATCH ON YT!
Itâs Doggett vs Fox...but not Fox Mulder. And thatâs actually Cabe Gallo, not Doggett. #yesIjustdidanXFilesreference The bad guys are wearing masks..animal masks, and have âanimalâ code-names. But seriously... whatâs with the Spanish? How & Why is that relevant? (or is this supposed to be a reference to 305 & those Spanish bad guys?)
Interesting... this âcaseâ seems more & more like the one in 3x05. Foreign bad guys (Spanish), a heist story,...with a twist (the bad guys are not after what the Team originally thinks theyâre after!) Plus...part of the team kidnapped/held hostage/inside the building with the bad guys & part of the team outside... working on ways to communicate with the ones inside. (the last part also makes me see parallels between 405 & 313)Â
âItâs me, stupid! Happyâs MORSE-code message. The surest way to make sure others know itâs her is to say something very Happy-like.Â
I love the Quintis  Teamwork! Those two are so in sync and work so well as a team! I love the eps, where Toby & Happy get to work as one of the teams, but though I kind of wish there were more eps like that, I actually like that this isnât the case in every episode, because this way it feels even  better! We get them work with others in some eps, and them together again after every few eps! (next up 4x08, 4x10)
OOPS! Sir Richard was promoting a product that wasnât ready. Not good. His reasons for doing so mightâve been âgoodâ, but itâs still so not good!Â
Eliaâs PW: KING RICHARD (for my reaction see Waltâs reaction)
I know that Toby thinks of Sly instead of Ralph...first, when thinking of a very fast coder/hacker simply because this episode doesnât have Riley B. Smith in it, but honestly... Ralph would do this faster than them all...even Sly! But yeah, Toby doesnât call Ralph, cause the kids at school, so itâs Sly whoâll create the fake site.
Sly rocks! Sylvester, "Iâm an attorney at lawâ Dodd, ladies & gents! PS. Heâs not even completed the bar exam, but he follows Tobyâs old saying "youre a lawyer if you believe youâre oneâ ;) (the original line was actually a bit different in S1, but... yeah) This is so his bar exam...and he will pass the exam & get extra points, because he doesnât just answer the test questions correctly, he is able to use the knowledge he has in a practical situation... this is a âliveâ test/exam, where he gets to actually put his new skillset to use.Â
Meet "Barnaby, the Banking Butlerâ!  PS. Hereâs an idea though... since Team Scorpion is in need  of finances, and Cabe did such a great job as Barnaby, the Banking Butler (despite the accent), how about Elia paying Cabe for using him as the âmodelâ for Barnaby so the agent can that way pay back his bail money to the Team, and hence not owe anyone anything & so freeing the Team from their extra debt?
LOL ... Classic Toby! âGood luck, baby! I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed for youâ  - he wants Happy to do the job alone, cause handing a note to someone is totally a 1-person-job! Heâs always trying to âstay behindâ. PS. Originally the plan was to have a scene inside the bank, but for reasons this scene was changed, and we see Quintis only outside the bank (before & after...no interaction with the teller, etc. I kinda liked the final version that aired though I originally though the 1st draft version was great)
...and Happyâs âwifeâ stare! as a response. Those dorks are so married!
Quintis just robbed a bank! Technically they only stole a password, though, not money. And now theyâre fleeing from the scene! Car-chase! And of course Happyâs driving!Â
APB on Quintis (description) - Toby: caucasian male in his 30s, wearing a hat  & Happy: petite asian female
Oh, no! Not good! Happy, as a âskilledâ driver turns the car too fast & all the (still hot!? How? Ride from coffee shop to conference center, the assessment of situation + discussions with the cops/detective... did all that take only 3 minutes or d they go to a magic coffee shop that has magic coffee that remains hot for an hour...) hot organic coffee spills on Tobyâs gooty! Well...nothing else to do than remove his pants! To reveal: NO BOXERS! Tighty whities! #violationofSTORK
sidenote: Toby Curtis & Happy Quinn masters of removing their pants without taking off their shoes since 205/405! And while Tobyâs pants in this ep werenât as âskinny jeansâ as Happy wore in 205 dangling upside down...), Iâm still questioning the speed & ease of him removing the pants...over the sneakers. This coupleâs got skillz ;) *sarcasm*
Oh, a little Tobyâs childhood memory/story! About his first day of middle school...and what he wore that day.Â
âBet you wish you wore boxers now.â Oh, Happy! Bet he does.Â
Cabe & âGloriaâ vs 2 bad guys on motorcycles - pursuit! Of course Barnaby âwinsâ the chase!Â
There are not many âpeopleâ, who can get away with insulting an officer in broad daylight, in the middle of the street, while being half naked/wearing just tighty whities.Â
I do not know if that was EKT or a (photo) double in the S3 bloopers reel for the S3 finale island scene with Paige/Toby and the loincloth talk scene, when Kat goes âheâs got nice legsâ, but Iâd say it applies here. Tobyâs got nice legs.Â
I knew it! Quintis is forgetting S.T.O.R.K. And focusing on fun instead. Or rather... on F.U.N. Sorry, pops... itâs another acronym. FUN = Freewheeling. Unencumbered. Newlyweds.Â
DONUTS! Team/Family moment!
A mention of Happyâs online gearhead friends! I hope these are her MechanChicks friends... mostly. Reference to 318. But could be other mechanic friends, too.Â
Oh, poor Cabe... first clearer signs of what âlosing his identityâ (as we learned in 317..his biggest fear is to seem weak & not be able to be the protector & âtough guyâ) is doing to him...are showing. The car choice, the singing to himself in sleeping pods, the mixing up boxes... I sure hope he gets his real badge back soon...and give back the temporary intern badge... because he feels purposeless if he is not the agent. As explained in 317..and now explored in season 4A...
LOL at these geniuses! I guess Happyâs truck & Paigeâs and Walterâs cars are not a the garage...orherwise... why not use of of their cars to move Cabeâs "Gloriaâ. But no... we would not have that fun team moment..if that were the case! If these geniuses remembered they could move his car using their car/truck... we would not get such a funny team bonding moment....Â
 The little things/Details to notice:
Happy using the word âdiaperâ, when using an analogy to Cabeâs new carâs technical condition. (âLeaks like a full diaperâ) #HappysGotBabiesOnHerMind
Happy & Toby: white vs black theme! Happy wearing black tee & black pants/jeans, Toby wearing a white tee & (as revealed later...) white undies. A fun contrast/detail I noticed.
Welcome back Cabeâs âLA KINGSâ (opening scene) & Tobyâs âIâD RATHER BE WEIGHT-LIFTING" coffee mugs! (end scene)Â
Happyâs outfit: yet another âmechanicâ outfit with her usual boots, and dark jeans. Plus a loose top/tee with a LS plaid shirt on top.Â
Also... Tobyâs outfit ... itâs so S1-ish! The âlighter-colouredâ pants, and that jacket...
And Itâs been ages since weâve seen Toby run..cause someoneâs chasing him (cause heâs taken someoneâs âmoneyâ) It happened quite often during early S1 days... but is not a theme anymore.Â
6PCI245Â - Happyâs car licence plate number in S4. Actually since 3x18! Originally it was 8Q49992 in 1x11, then 8Q49929 from 1x21 to 3x12; 6PCI245 from 3x18-3x20-to 4x05...; with the 3x22 PartyBus getting her old licence plate 8Q49929) ;)Â
Paige lifting Tobyâs legs off table (during the donuts scene)
So...Quintis S4 acronyms...so far: we went from PANNS to FUN. Whatâs next? PANNS  +  SCABOBI  -> STORK -> FUN --> ?
hmm... Happy really wants for someone else (Paige) to PUSH...right now? Is this whatâs to come in about 40 weeks? In that case... this coming from the woman, who as a mechanic claimed that the female body is a mechanical marvel...but will she be wishing someone else was âin painâ when itâs her time? Weâll see...
Favourite Lines/Quotes:
Too many to list. But some Iâve mentined in the comments above.Â
I find that hard to believe! - âContinuity errorsâ & other questionable things:
How are âstudentsâ allowed to take their cellphones to the exam room? And leave the exam room... to âgo to the bathroomâ ...just like that?Â
How is that coffee STILL hot? Did everything from them leaving from the coffee shop to robbing the bank happen in a 5-minute timespan (instead of closer to an hour or so..) or do they know a magic coffeeshop that sells magic coffee in magic cups that keep the coffee hot for hours?Â
How did Toby get those pants off so easily...over his sneakers? Sure..his pants are wider than Happyâs skinnyjeans  in 205 were... but these two are still very masterful at removing their jeans without removing their footwear.Â
How come they didnât think of using one of their cars to move Cabeâs non-moving vehicle?Â
 NOTES:Â
On that note... Team Quintis & Team Scorpionâs financial situation is gonna be a topic...during this season, right? In S3 it was how to arrange a wedding on budget. In S4 its gonna be how to prepare for a baby...while on budget? But how are they gonna save or get better at being financially responsible if they keep buying organic coffee to go, and other such âluxuriesâ, when in other eps its made to sound like they canât even afford a cheap deep-fried treat (churros)...though thatâs Paige, not Quintis...who planned to get Kovelskyâs that night. It allows for several options - show how they get creative with baby stuff. And shows how their & their companyâs financial situation affects them all... and it also gives perfect opportunity for a Toby/gambling debt/Bruno plot to surface...etc.Â
Solution: Quintis can afford a baby just like Paige could afford to get a new car (a few weeks after getting the new job) & upgrade to a nice apartment + get Ralph to a good school (mere months later) + pay for the babysitter etc... because theyâre not really broke (they already got 20.000 back from Cabe)... their definition of it just âexaggeratedâ. But also because theyâre geniuses & gonna be very creative about the âbaby costsâ - building furniture themselves, having âfreeâ access to medical stuff and treatments... and also... either theyâre gonna do âbaby on budgetâ and thatâs the plot, or Cabe gets his job back soon, and the team starts getting big paydays... to fix their financial situation. Because this show has not been realistic about financial issues from the very beginning. Itâd be great if thatâd improve, but Quintis has made it clear theyâre not good with saving etc.Â

Iâll show and update with the bingo card every 3 months here.
â So instead of health problems at the start of the month I now had car problems. My car had its yearly check up at the end of February. In March I had to return to fix a shake while driving. And in April I seemed to have problems with my cooling system. It was not fun. I gave me a lot of stress and sadness. I tried very hard not to let it rule me. It got fixed and as we were driving back from my parents at Easter, another light went on. Grr.
â The change of the clock at the end of March messed a bit with Merijnâs sense of bed time and he keeps coming out of bed for 30 minutes. I hope heâll get used to it again because it being light when he goes to bed is just going to get worse.
â We got some fun bits for our garden to cheer it up.
â We took Merijn to a fairytale theme park more geared towards his age with a very large playground as well. He loved it. He was so tired but he loved it.
â Then a few days later Merijn got the sixth disease/roseola. He broke out in bumps and red splots over night, ended up with a high fever for 24 hours and then his temperature went back to normal. The break out took a few days longer to go away, een more so with some of the warmer days we had. He was better in time for Easter
â For Easter we went to my parents. Which was fine. We had some great weather. Merijn stayed the week with my parents and we went back on Kingâs Day.
â For some reason I got a bad case of hayfever? And then I woke up the last weekend of April and I had a swollen, stiff and sometimes painful knee. Who even knows what I didâŠ

â The Lost City of Z / Movie / DNF I watched a good portion of this but it was a bit boring and I couldnât really care about any of the characters.
â The Warriorâs Gate / Movie / DNF I couldnât do it. This screamed white savior all over it. Also why in hells name would a chinese man give a white teenage boy that works for him a family heirloom?
â Spirited Away / Movie / Rewatch
â Goosebumps / Movie I was excited to see they were showing this here and I liked the humor at the start. Then it kind of dwindled and I think Jack Black was trying a bit too hard to be honest.

â Game of Thrones / Season 6 / Ep 1-8 Well I finally started this season now everyone is watching the final season, lol.
