Reggio Emilia (Emilia). Church of the Christ. Piazzale Roversi. Baroque. St. Spyridon. Catholic oratory then sold to the Romanian Orthodox church (2011), which holds its celebrations, but also educational and recreational activities. The exterior of the church was in total renovation. In the apse there is a fresco of the Crucifix by an anonymous artist from Reggio, created for the plague of 1630. In 1761 the church was restored by Cavallari. The scenic façade is interesting. It is the Piazza del Duomo and also contains the bishop's palace, the Baptistery (from the Middle Ages) in imitation of the Holy Sepulcher, the Palazzo del Monte with the civic tower, and in front of it the Town Hall where the Bordello tower is located, while on the west side there are the Notarie and the palace of the podestà. Reggio Emilia (Emilia). Basilica of San Prospero (1514). Piazza San Prospero. Renaissance and Baroque. San Prospero is the patron saint of Reggio Emilia, lived in the 5th century and was bishop of the city. The church was rebuilt on the ruins of another namesake of 997. The exterior is characterized by statues of red marble lions and on the façade, those of 11 saints. On the right of the facade stands the octagonal bell tower. Historic stately home in the historic center of Reggio Emilia restored by the Fontanelli brothers at the end of the fourteenth century. The exterior overlooks the long porch. In the time of the restructuring, some elements change, such as the water-leaf capitals of the portico and the 16th century coat of arms. Among the precious elements, the ancient well from the courtyard, the lantern, the wrought iron gate and the coffered loggia element, with half the modularity in the upper part.
