★ Tell me about your favorite romance books and romance authors! Happy Valentine’s Day, all! Since we’re apparently rehashing the “romance books aren’t literature” conversation (see my stories) I want to know some of your favorites! A few of my favorite romance authors are: - Sierra Simone - Laura Thalassa - Devney Perry - Jewel E. Ann - Penelope Douglas and about a million more that would make this post far too long. Anyway, hope you all have a great Tuesday! I am off to my grad-level fiction workshop in a few minutes, where I get to talk about and write my little romance stories because they’re actually literature. 😘 ★ HASHTAGS // #bookphotography #instareads #bookobsessed #booksbooksbooks #beautifulbooks #bookcart #totalbooknerd #bookshelfie #bookstagram #readerlife #homelibrary #bookshelves #stacksaturday #readingnook #currentlyreading #fantasybooks #romancebooks https://www.instagram.com/p/CoqPsGsv3oM/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

» How many books do you read at one time? hello my friends, I can do up to 3 books at a time. But I prefer to stick to one or two. ✨Review✨ Heaven by Mieko Kawakami ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ If you have been thinking about reading this book, this is your sign to go pick it up! #chefskiss . SOPOILERS . Yesterday I finished reading this little piece of gold. Heaven is the story of two teenagers being bullied at school and forming a platonic friendship. The book has this Gorgeous dialogues between these two characters whose social ineptitude make for interesting, deep and unfiltered conversations about life, society and purpose. My favorite character was the protagonist’s stepmother, they have all these wholesome interactions and she seems to love her stepson so much. I just loved all scenes where the two of them were together. Mieko Kawakami has a talent for creating characters that seem real, they all give the impression of having a backstory even if it’s not written in the paper as such, you just feel how much she cared about all of them and every detail. I also (And here comes a little spoiler) particularly enjoyed a conversation he has with one of his bullies about the reason behind all the abuse and it is enlightening how this character has completely separated morality from human behavior and seems to find it unnatural and nonsensical to even think about the relation of the two. As opposed to Kojima’s character who sees her own bulling as part of an almost religious experience of enlightenment. . This book was at times adorable and at other times heartbreaking, but it had my heart from beginning to end. Would highly recommend. . Have you read any of Mieko Kawakami’s books? . . ##bookstagram #instabook #bookphotography #bookporn #igbooks #ilovereading #bookhaul #bookhoarder #bookaddiction #bookstoread #whattoread #bibliophile #igreads #currentlyreading #bookreview #instaread #lovetoread #booksarelife #readingisfundamental #whatimreading #bookreviewer #bookaddicts #bookpost #tbrpile #justread #bookrecs #cozy (at Madrid, Spain) https://www.instagram.com/p/CneEVFjtjwa/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

I’ll Be Home For Hanukkah, by KK Hendin, is a hilarious holiday romance, ticking all the Hallmark movie boxes, except that our heroine is Jewish and not entirely sure what the whole point of Christmas is. Shayna gets assigned a work trip to a little town called North Pole, in Alaska, in December, along with her (handsome, funny, also Jewish) new coworker. A little mix-up from well-meaning busybodies sends Shayna and Noam on an adorable Christmas romance program, intended for Shayna's Christmas-obsessed coworker, Shannon. The result is all the buff lumberjacks and sparkling snow of a Christmas romance, while our Shayna and Noam whisper to each other and try to dodge very enthusiastic Christmas carolers. So fun. #bookblogger #bookstagram #amreading #bookblogging #instaread #readersofinstagram #booklife #bookoftheday #bookish #alwaysreading #bookgram #bookblogging #fiction #bookblr #illbehomeforhanukkah #kkhendin #bookcommunity #igreads #reader #libri #literature https://www.instagram.com/p/CmOsZDXr6l_/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Do you read books outside of your age category? I firmly believe that all books are for everybody, no matter their assigned age category, and I read books aimed at all ages. However, I’ve recently found myself being drawn more towards adult and away from YA. The Cats We Meet Along the Way reminded me why I read YA and MG. It was beautiful, lyrical, adventurous and heartfelt. It had the exploration of a middle grade, the themes of YA and the lyrical prose of a literary fiction. I simply devoured it. #Book #Books #Bookstagram #BookishLove #BookPhotography #Read #Reading #Reader #Blogger #Blog #BloggerLife #BloggersOfInstagram #BookPhotography #Bookstores #Reading #ReadersOfInstagram #Review #BookReview #BookstagramCommunity #ReadMore #BookAddicts #Instaread #BookCollection #Booklover #Bookish #BookNerd #Bibliophile #Bookclub #Bookaholic #Bookshelf https://www.instagram.com/p/CoDXb3OLnTq/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

✨Don’t call me beautiful✨
Don’t call me beautiful
cause I look like a weird goat,
Don’t call me beautiful
Cause I know I’m not.
Don’t call me kind
Cause evil consumes my mind.
Don’t call me smart
After all being dense is an art

★ What is the most recent book you experienced cover love over? One of mine was Beyond the Filigree Wall by @melissa_wright_author! This is a brand new regency inspired fantasy with slow burn romance, recommended for fans of An Enchantment of Ravens and Little Thieves! Description: A dark curse. A deadly secret. The ill-fated girl at the heart of both.

Antonetta Ostwind is about to get everything she’s ever wanted. If all goes to plan, she’ll end the fae, steal back what was stolen, and win the post she’s always dreamed of in time to dress for supper.

There’s just one problem. His name is Gideon Alexander.

Gideon holds the key to her coveted post. He’s fantastic with a sword, looks amazing in uniform, and commands even the adoration of his great, beastly dog. He’s living the life Etta needs.

Gideon doesn’t believe Etta should have any of it. In fact, he’s planning to make sure she never does. And that’s a real problem, because if Etta can’t take her post as marshal, how can she have her vengeance and save the kingdom from the prince of the fae?

Slip into clean, slow-burn romance with a properly stabby heroine and the low commitment of a standalone series in this light regency fantasy romp for fans of Enchantment of Ravens and Little Thieves. Thank you Melissa for sending this beautiful book my way! ★ HASHTAGS // #bookstagram #fantasybooks #booksofig #beyondthefiligreewall #melissawright #fantasyromance #romantasy #coverlove #flatlayfriday #bookphotography #instareads #bookobsessed #booksbooksbooks #beautifulbooks #prettybooks #goodreads #bookhoarder #bibliophile https://www.instagram.com/p/Cn-v0EIJi45/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Oliver Marks has just been released from prison, and is finally ready to tell Detective Colborne what really happened when his classmate was killed ten years ago. As young actors at an elite conservatory, Oliver and his classmates played the same roles – villain, hero, temptress – over and over again, both off stage and onstage. But when the casting changes, good-natured rivalry turns ugly, and the plays spill dangerously over into real life. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had seen If We Were Villains by @sureasmel around but I didn’t read it until my friend @judithbleeker recommended and lent it to me. It’s not the type of book I read (anymore) and it was very stressful at times, but I was pulled in by the promise of Shakespearian theatre and very soon I was completely hooked. 📚 What struck me most was the emotional complexity of these characters. Difficult backgrounds, trauma, insecurity and forced vulnerability, set in this tiny, isolated, cult-like academic world, then add the strong emotions of the Shakespearian stage and you have fireworks. The way tension builds and ebbs away (but never completely) only to return stronger is masterfully done. 📚 I love how Shakespeare is interwoven in the story, more than just a few references, it’s the very fabric this world is built out of, and underscores some of the characters’ most pivotal moments. They really live Shakespeare. Someday I plan to reread this book again in conjunction with all those plays. Though you genuinely don’t need to to understand and enjoy the book, but it does give the story that much more depth. 📚 A very well crafted book that you should definitely check out if you either like Shakespeare or murder mystery/thriller stories. 📚 (Content warnings below, may contain spoilers) . . . . . . . .   CW’s: violence, abuse, blood, gore, death, suicide (off-page) . #ifwewerevillains #mlrio #shakespeare #bookreview #bookworm #bookish #bookblogger #amreading #bookgram #instareads #bookishlove #readmorebooks #bookstagrammers #bookcollector #readinglife #bookwormproblems #bookobsessed #bedtimereading #readerforlife #bookshark #bookpicture #bookishphoto #bookreviewer #booksaremagic #bookblog #goodreads #review #bookishproblems https://www.instagram.com/p/CpIEcPNLZWy/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Book Review…Where We End & Begin by Jane Igharo Before leaving to America for college Dunni and Obinna vowed to find their way back to each other one day. Twelve years later, and their vow is a thing of the past. While returning to Nigeria for a friend's wedding they run into each other. The shy, awkward boy she loved as a teenager is now a sophisticated, confident man. Things have changed, but there's still an undeniable connection between them. As they rediscover each other, their days filled with desire and passion, Dunni is reminded of the beautiful future she once planned with Obinna. But when devastating secrets are revealed and the reckless actions of their past bring new challenges, she's left questioning everything, including if the love that consumed her as a teenager is still worth holding on to. It was a nice second chance romance! I really liked Dunni's character and Obinna the complimented each other. The romance between Dunni and Obinna was one that I enjoyed especially Dunni you could tell and feel how much she loved and cared for him but with Obinna for some reason I didn't feel the same with him. But other then that it was a good book! Thank you Let's Talk Books, Berkley Books and Jane Igharo for sharing this book with me! #WhereWeEnd&Begin #JaneIgharo #bookreview #berkleybooks #letstalkbooks #romancebook #booksta #netgalley #ebookreview #bookrec #igbooks #igreads #bookstagram #instabooks #instareads #bookstagrammer (at Cleveland, Ohio) https://www.instagram.com/p/CjYMCC3Lvro/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒈𝒐𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒔. 𝑺𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒂 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓. 𝑺𝒉𝒆‘𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒍𝒚 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒐𝒚𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒚. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒉𝒆‘𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕, 𝒈𝒂𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆. And after, I was a heaping mess of tears and snot. I couldn't stop crying thinking the 'what ifs' of how this trilogy could've ended differently. Do I love it? Not totally. Do I hate it? No, I could never. In the end, I would have to live with the pain and hope that everything that Rin went through, it was all worth it. That Nezha will make it worth it. The Poppy War - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Dragon Republic - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Burning God - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Historical fiction always hit me the hardest, whether its fantasy or not. Because it is an echo of what has transpired years ago, and we are reminded of the cruelty that somehow we humans are still capable of. Here, it shows colonialism in its most exploitive means possible. War is ugly, it always is and it rarely ends happy. #rfkuang #historicalfantasy #theburninggod #thedragonrepublic #thepoppywar #grimdark #bookstagrammer #bookdragon #booklover #bookish #bookphotography #instabook #instaread #readingaddict #readinglife #thereaderslounge https://www.instagram.com/p/CnvP4kSvg2q/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
