i think the uhc shooter was in the right, & i think luigi is being framed & it's horrifying to see it play out like this, & fuck the nypd and the fbi etc. and i agree that people shouldn't refer to the uhc shooter using luigi's name or assume that he did it just bc the cops say he did it. bc there's a lot of reasons to doubt that and speculate that he's being framed. that being said. "innocent until proven guilty" is a legal principle meaning the judge/jury/etc should always assume innocence until there's proof of guilt beyond reasonable doubt & the burden of proof is on the prosecution. it doesn't mean u personally as Just Some Guy* (*or other word with different gender connotation) and not a member of a jury/etc can't have or share opinions on the guilt of someone before there's a legal case.

and tbf there's also something to be said as well for the fact that seeing a bunch of people referring to the uhc shooter as luigi will influence people to believe it's him either consciously or unconsciously. and that could influence the jury/the court in general. which is a fair point. but i think "innocent until proven guilty" is the wrong phrase to use.

maybe i'm nitpicking, but the only other time i really see that phrase used to mean "you ('you' being Some Guy*) can't Post or Behave as if someone's guilty of something until after the courts say so," is with sexual assault / abuse allegations when people don't want the accused to be held responsible. which might be a me thing, but it does bother me. and again to be clear i don't think he did it! i think he's innocent! but the way people phrase the idea that we shouldn't assume luigi is the shooter makes me feel. for lack of a better term. eughck

Hi! I download your newest Photoshop 2024 two nights ago, and it's saying there is only a 5 day grace period before it uninstalls itself if I don't license it. I thought this was meant to be free, so did something happen when the file was created or did I misunderstand what is going on with this?

Hi there!! My apologies for posting this publicly, instead of answering you privately, but I just want to be able to make sure that if anyone else runs into this issue, that they easily have access to the fix. Now, this hasn't happened to me at present after numerous days of consistent use, nor have I heard of anyone else running into it, but I am aware that it can happen, but the fix is actually quite simple (I had to do this for a previous version). Okay, this involves a little bit of navigating and tinkering in Windows, but I'll run you through it, don't worry.

In essence what happened is that Photoshop was able to connect to the Adobe servers, where it verified itself through an automated process, and realized it wasn't quite activated yet. This is nothing concerning, and is something that us little pirates have had to deal with for years without any issue at the backhand. So the simple, very old, and private solution to this is to not let Photoshop connect to the internet at all (this will not limit it in any way), and accomplishing that is simple enough. Before you go through these steps however, please uninstall Photoshop, and reinstall it (ideally in a slightly different location, even if it's in a subfolder.) After that, here, let me run you through the steps!

Step 1. Do a search for 'Windows Defender', and click 'Windows Defender Firewall' when it pops up as a search result. When the window pops up, navigate to the left-hand side and select 'Advanced settings', like below:

Step 2. In the new window, click 'Outbound rules' to the left-hand side, and then 'New rule' on the right-hand side immediately after:

Step 3. Another window will pop up, and in the options given to you, select 'Program', and then, do you remember when you first installed Photoshop? Navigate to that folder, and you'll find the according application file called 'Photoshop' with its usual little icon on the left. To help you, the default path (where I have it installed) is as shown underneath, including the file you should select:

Step 4. Select the file, hit 'Open' in the bottom-right, hit 'Next', and make sure that you then select 'Block this connection'. On the next screen, it'll ask you when the rule should be applied and all options should be checked, if they are not, be sure to check them. You can name this rule however you want on the next screen, it won't matter! Hit 'Finish', and all should be fine from hereon out!

Other things have had me a little salty this morning, so in case that influences my perception of how you intended this, my sincere apologies. Either way, forgive me for being serious for a moment, but I want to use this as a PSA to make a point going forward on this blog.

I have nothing against opposing views, and I have nothing against people disagreeing with me, but what I have something against on principle, are potentially snarky messages like this one that seem to have only one aim, which is to try and taint my character by making insinuations that are wholly unfounded (that you think me to be anti-LGBT?) and based on something that you genuinely cannot draw any such thing from. Now whether Aventurine is 'gay-coded' as you so put it, or a bisexual man (on which note: it's real saddening to see that in 2024, in-house fighting against bisexuality's mere existence still reigns supreme, good job, you're really making admirable strides) doesn't matter for what I'm going to touch on. Although out of respect for the character himself and the person who wrote him, I can't move on without noting that you may want to reread some character stories, some dialogues (particularly things said by the Harmony to him, for instance), to see whether that seals your faith in your claim, or diminishes it. Either way, I want to remind you: being bisexual doesn't reduce the significance of being drawn to the same sex.

Alright, continuing what I was saying: messages like these don't accomplish anything, outside of making you feel like you're on a pedestal; is it cold up there? I don't envy you. In all seriousness however, in all my years on any of my blogs, I have always aimed to be canon-strict with my portrayals, with which I set myself up for something that I deem imperative for myself in RP: to be criticized by the masses. I have always tried to engage with my follower base, I have always encouraged them to come to me if I'm wrong on something, I value people trying to poke holes in my logic. And if you succeed in proving that I overlooked something, I will happily admit it, and stand corrected. In that, I aim to say that I thoroughly enjoy debate and discussion (based in rationale, and not feelings), which I think are fundamental to our society even outside of Tumblr. If someone disagrees with me, my notes are open, if you want to question something that I think or have posted, my askbox (as you've learned and have made use of) is open. But all I ask is that you open a line of healthy debate with me, and not send something that is entirely baseless if you don't even substantiate your claim in your same message. But also, what I don't understand is that my post doesn't even directly diminish the popular Aventurine/Ratio ship in the fandom, it instead simply expresses frustration that not more people see the depth of the Aventurine/Topaz dynamic, and recognize it as a good ship as well, because there is a lot within the game that aims at a definite potential there. Granted, yes, that comes with having to acknowledge that Aventurine may just be a bisexual man who is also into women, but if that's something that doesn't sit quite right with you, then maybe the issue that you're pointing at me, should be returned to you, the one who initially pointed the accusatory finger here.

Again, if you want to have a conversation about this and tell me why you think that I'm wrong by substantiating your own claim, you're very welcome to, and I'd be happy to engage with you. But until then, this is all that I have for you. And before I might get a 'why do I need to substantiate my thing, Sae', it's nothing against you personally, and instead it's the simple 101 of debate. You disagree with a point that I make? Then it is up to you to tell me why you disagree, so that I can give you a fruitful counter that you can then do something with.

18. Do they view their relationship as temporary or permanent?

it takes a long time as in, a few years-- for either of them to either realise or admit it, but they do eventually view it as permanent!! the realisation was less of a positive epiphany and more of a moment of fear inducing panic for both of them tho.

between both of them being aroace, terrible at communicating, grace's "100 unpacked issues about victorian era marriage culture," & twitch's "got out of the cage gardens 5 minutes ago and has no idea how to navigate a relationship"???

yeah they both freaked it the minute they went from "i kind of like hanging around them" to "i could be around them basically forever." but they kept going back to eachother everytime anyway. 😌

22. When were they the most vulnerable with each other?

i guess this is obvious but for grace it's being pulled out of the arctic since, lowest point of his life Ever (though i guess he didn't have much choice in that one actually. hm)

and for twitch it's being looked after during their honey headaches, telling grace about their time in the cage gardens & taking their glasses off around him (which they Do have a choice in! and they chose grace)

for less obvious ones,,,i think they're unexpectedly reassuring to eachother. twitch gets frustrated fairly easily, and a lot of the time it's over their memory issues/inconsistencies. grace is the only person who knows the full extent of why, and so he's the only person who can really listen (or just sit with them while they calm down)

on the other side, grace has the exact level of trauma you would expect a guy who watched 80 people slowly deteriorate & die to have (a lot!). he has nightmares, triggers, recurring flashbacks & memories, he can't sleep. twitch isn't incredible at comfort (they're learning) but they try to reassure him, at least.

basically for two emotionally challenged guys who usually isolate at the first sign of distress, their biggest vulnerability is 1: being known and 2: letting themselves be helped (or comforted) about it
