I think I covered every mainline Zelda game in this. Let me know if there's a mainline game I missed! If you're wondering why I didn't just do this as a numbered list, that's because tumblr complained that it was too long, so I had to break it up into two lists. I could not figure out how to change the starting number of the second list, so I gave up and made them both bulleted lists.

2023, A year of Newsies Doodling…

My goal at the start of 2023 was to try do something creative every week so I didn’t lose touch with that part of me… I honestly think I wouldn’t have managed to achieve that goal if it wasn’t for the inspiration Newsies has given me this year - it kept me creating and it’s helped me grow in ways I never imagined… I am so very grateful for this show and can’t wait for news of its return to come this year! 🗞️

And to those who have been kind enough to support my little doodle shop this year, I want to say a massive THANK YOU! Your support has meant the absolute world to me and made 2023 into a pretty incredible year. 3. Kidney Beans. Because I work in the Renal Department and there is a Kidney Month and our admin was sending them on adventures.

4. The Giant Life-Sucking Woodland Animals Baby Blanket which resulted in me asking 'why don't I have more holiday gifts done by now?' It was for a Baby Shower. The mom loved it.

5. Did most of Inktober (still determined to finish, I ended up getting a lifetime supply of markers for Christmas due to an Amazon Wish List issue).

6. Diamond Art Tree Ornaments. I was going to send them out to a few people or use as gift extras, but I haven't figured out how to seal the sticky parts yet. (There were 12 in the set).

I’ve also added a few more of my own modifiers to this month’s challenge: ballpoint pen only, and strictly ones I already have – that means no buying anything new. The humble ballpoints I love these ballpoints that I got in a clearance sale…

technical difficulties made it extremely hard for me to get very far in this one unfortunately. for whatever reason any tutorial text would only half render which made it impossible to really tell what was going on or what i needed to do. from what i can tell Not the Robots is a stealth game where you are a robot cleaning up offices by eating furniture without getting noticed by lasers or patrolling robots.

i really think the randomized levels are a design flaw. i only spent a few minutes with this game (as i do any game in this series) but i already hit multiple immediately unwinnable levels where i started with patrols sitting directly where i spawned. i understand this game released right when procedural generation roguelites was really in the indie cultural milieu but come the fuck on man. maybe if i could read any of the text i could have avoided that

The Clans - Saga of the Twins - $4.99

this is very stupid. it kinda rules. i full party wiped on the first boss but i had like 5 seconds left on my timer so i didnt really care to retry. mostly negative reviews on steam. ive never seen an rpg maker game control like this. the music is so bad i just took my fucking headphones off lol. dont spend money on this but if you just happen to already own it for some reason

nib is a platformer with entirely art repurposed from the solo dev's inktober project. it's pretty charming but very jank. it expects a lot of combat out of you but i could not consistently get my character to actually swing the pen nib. the platforming itself is very floaty but the environment felt suited for that kind of physics and i did quite enjoy exploring the environment. this one is free so check it out if it looks interesting to you

INKTOBER 2023 ROUNDUP…

Well, that’s it, another years inktober-ing is completed… 31 days, 31 prompts, 31 doodles - all newsies themed - I have well and truly surprised myself with this one - I never thought I’d manage a week let alone the full month… now I’ve actually got to work out what I’m gonna do with all these 31 new designs… any ideas?!?

Also, with them all now done, I’d love to know any favourites people have!

Inktober 2018 Compilation!

Last year’s compilation can be found here.

Just like last year, my only goal was to make something. And just like last year, I switched between different prompt lists according to what seemed more interesting.

Some differences from last Inktober:

It was harder to keep up the pace as I was busier with other stuff this time around.

More colors in general now, with orange being one unexpected element.

More variation, both in terms of styles and subjects. Not too surprising, seeing as last year I mainly did monster prompts.

Also, apparently when I’m a bit tired or uninspired I often end up drawing animals.

This concludes the end of Inktober 2018 for me.

Now back to regular work! (moneymoneymoney...)
