Inktober - day 23: His Dark Materials (2019)

Inktober 2019 Day 23: Courage

To represent courage, I drew a mouse fighting off against a sheep like monster ready to devour the little mouse. This actually inspired by the movie I seen when I was a fucking kid called The Tale of Despereaux for the mouse in the ink drawing.

2019: Tried participating in Inktober. Wrote 5 days worth of MCR reader inserts before giving up.

2020: Participated in “Gothtober” (a fandom-specific event). Wrote 14 MCR reader inserts before giving up.

2021: Participated in Flufftober. Wrote 15 Blind Channel reader-inserts before giving up.

2022: Participated in Flufftober. Wrote 23 Blind Channel M/M stories before giving up.

2023: Participating in Whumptober. Writing a mixture of Finnish bands, probably going to be mostly M/M stories again. Maybe I’ll actually finish the challenge this time….

Welcome to another installment of Tober Review, in which i go back over my inktober 2023 pieces and say things

Spiders, starring L.I.K..

let it be known that i plan any tober i do. this means i go over the list, choose which characters will appear and select the days for each character, trying to give them all fair treatment (the only one who got duped this year is Kenae though, i think. i changed plans last minute).

anyways i also like having lil' story lines in my tobers too. in my 2019 tober it was John the Knight and in 2020 it was Arobaze's Travel to Kruzkentie. this year around, the story line is L.I.K.'s Death and Revival, spread accross L.I.K. and Lucky's days (since Lucky is her. reviver? i guess i'll use that term).

i may not cover them all so the story is basically Elisa, a Hypnosian teacher, gets rekted by the Dark Knighthood. though, her spirit may never die so she starts feeding the worms and the earth of her blood and soul. as it should. but here comes back along the Dark Knighthood and Lucky, stumbling upon that good, blackmarketable body of a hybrid wants to bring her back home but decides against selling her and ends up making a fighting cyborg out of her. renaming her Laboratory Improved Knight - L.I.K. for short.

anyways self critics time: i like it. it was really calming inking this all thing. there's just the right amount of blood, the spiders are scarce enough, thats great. i just blundered the burn mark on her leg (she shouldnt have a scar here because that's a part of her body that was not replaced by Lucky). anyways it's a very solid entry

also i realised drawing this that the common female deer (her hybridation) isn't supposed to grow antlers so um. trans L.I.K. canon? perhaps? bob ross would call that a happy lil accident.

Michael in the bathroom? More like, meltdown in the bathroom!....my poor boy. This is my fav song from Be More Chill, and the first one I heard from it! And Since He's at a halloween party, I thought it would be a good thing to draw for inktober!  Also, this drawing looks better from a far so just....hold your phone far away when you look at it lol! I'm gettin' lazy with this again. I probably won't do inktober again next year, cause I've realized it always makes me feel worse about my art when I do it....
