Continuing the AU I have in mind with my new rework of Ingrid’s design!

The 1st one will be her official while the 2nd is taking from her old concept <33

re: Felix's conversation with Ingrid where he tells her to find a husband instead of trying to be a knight - I think he was actually trying to express genuine concern for her, but his understanding of the situation was wrong. Here's my thesis:

We know that what Felix hates most is the attitude many people in Faerghus (in particular, his family and close friends) have about the dead. While a lot of people he knows tend to honor their dead loved ones by what he sees as obsessing over them, constantly talking about their heroic martyrdom and practically worshipping them as saints, he views this behavior as unhealthy and harmful because it makes them want to emulate the dead and make pointless sacrifices over people who aren't even around anymore and probably wouldn't have wanted that in the first place.

From his point of view, the situation is this: Ingrid was engaged to his brother Glenn, who she loved and was excited to marry. Then his brother died, and in her grief, Ingrid abandoned her dream of living happily together with someone she loved and instead decided to "honor Glenn's memory" by becoming a knight like he was, throwing away the life she wanted so that she could follow in the footsteps of a dead man and die young but bravely because of some sort of fucked-up sense of duty or guilt or patriotism or something.

With this understanding, it makes perfect sense that Felix would try to dissuade her from this path. He doesn't want to see his childhood friend essentially destroy her life to fulfill an obligation based on an ideal that makes no sense, especially in the name of his brother, who loved Ingrid very much and would never have wanted her to be unhappy and deny her dreams for him! And besides, Felix is sick of losing the people he cares about. He doesn't want Ingrid to die too.

Was he right about Ingrid's motivations? No. Did he choose the best way of approaching her and voicing his worries? Also no! But I don't think it's plain and simple misogyny, or anything even close to that. I think he really was just worried for his friend.

i am thinking about mercedes annette and ingrid cutting each others hair in the immediate aftermath of the first battle at garreg mach in a tribute to those that they left behind and i do think that ingrid keeps her hair short for the majority of the rest of her life and i do think mercedes experiments for years before growing it out again and i do think that annette grows hers to her waist before cutting it again
