Electric Trains are the Future Chapter 12: For Thou Could Not Recompense
Previous Chapter (11) - Current Chapter - Next Chapter (Unposted)
Ingo fell, Elesa had a breakdown, now let's check in Akari and how she's doing! I ended up adding an *entire* scene here by accident, but I'm so glad I did because it was fun character moments and it helps fill the chapter out.
Chapter Summary: Akari deals with the consequences of her actions, and those around her are not helping. Chapter Word Count: 4160 Chapter Warning: Akari is Going Through It™️ this chapter, so he sections are overtly negative. I don't think it is to a CW point, but still want to give the heads up.
You can read below or over on AO3 with additional notes! Reblogs and comments are appreciated, but never feel like you have to!
-
It was obvious. It was all that Akari could think about as it happened.
This was all her fault.
Elesa had to watch her boyfriend fall to what could be his death. Sneasler had to fear losing her dear Warden. Ingo could have died and he still might before they get back to Jubilife. Akari herself almost lost And all of it was her fault.
Elesa had to fight against an Alpha because Akari had chosen to bring them this way on a hunch. She was in Hisui because Akari made the choice to kidnap her from her home, coercing the Gods of Time and Space to break their own rules. Akari took her away from her home and her family, and then didn’t, couldn’t, refused to send her home despite being able to. It was her fault.
You could’ve gone to the Temple flashes through her mind repeatedly as she stares at the blood flowing from Ingo’s skull. You could’ve stopped this before it happened snakes between her thoughts as she watches Elesa wrap the wound up, the blood darkening the wrapping immediately. If you had just gone to Arceus, you would all be home pounds into her skull like the hoofs of an angry Rapidash as she limply follows Sneasler and Elesa back to the base camp.
This is all your fault. You could’ve prevented this.
—
Neither Elesa or Akari slept that night, having moved through the Mirelands as evening fell and through the Obsidian Fieldlands as night took over the sky. They had passed the Grandtree Arena directly, and Akari was glad in spite of herself that Lian was not visible. If he had seen Sneasler with Akari and Elesa, and Ingo not there, Akari wouldn’t know how to confront him.
By the time they made it home to Jubilife, light was beginning to peek over the ridges behind the village. Pesselle and Anise met the group at the gate, taking the stretcher and leading it directly to the Galaxy Building to get him to medical care as quickly as possible.
“Go get some sleep, Skiddo,” Akari hears Elesa say, not quite registering that it’s meant for her. It even takes a few moments to realize that they had stopped in front of Akari’s house, before she finally shakes her head. “Akari.” Elesa’s tone was sharp. She was most likely angry with her for causing Ingo’s accident. “Get some rest. I’ll come get you when we get an update on him.”
Akari starts to shake her head again when one of her Pokeballs pops open, and Iona, her Gardevoir, comes out, her eyes boring into Akari’s back. With a shaky breath, Akari lets Iona lead her into her house, and slowly gets ready for some sleep.
It doesn’t feel like any time has passed when she wakes up to a knock on the door. Akari fumbles around for her Arc Phone, finally finding it tossed almost arm-length away from her futon, and confirms that it’s only been an hour and a half since Elesa sent her to bed. The knock repeats and Akari drags herself out of her futon’s warmth, and puts her uniform back on. “Coming,” she mumbles, hopefully loud enough for whoever is at the door to hear.
“Take your time, old girl,” she hears Laventon say in a soft tone. “Kamado wants you for when Irida arrives, but you still have some time left.” Akari freezes up at the mention of Kamado’s name, before scurrying to the door, quickly trying to seem awake before opening it.
Laventon, to his credit, didn’t look at her with pity as he surely could read the little sleep she got. Instead, he drew his lips tight in a look of sympathy, though he speaks fast enough to cut Akari off before she can say anything. “Come to the Wallflower with me. You need to eat, my girl.” Akari hangs there for a moment, holding the door open like she was trying to think of what to say, before just throwing herself into Laventon, hugging him tight. He holds her close, letting her sob without tears for a few moments before loosening his grip. “Come along. Beni said he would open early for you.”
Akari shivers at the mention of Beni, but lets Laventon lead her to the restaurant, only hesitating slightly as she is led inside. With it being so early in the morning, the sun only now rising into the sky, Beni was only operating in the building itself. Akari didn’t come in here often, and completely avoided it after the red sky, not liking the dim lighting and privacy curtains around the booths once she learned of Beni’s true profession. As Laventon tries to go further in, probably to his preferred seat, Akari stops and pulls towards a booth by the door, shaking her head softly.
Laventon lets her choose the booth, and after a moment Beni walks up with two small bowls of miso soup, placing them in front of the pair. “I can do either onigiri or a bowl with Oran slices,” he says, giving a quick look to Akari, which she avoids, then over to Laventon. “I also have Basculin on the grill, if you need something heavier to start the day.”
“I’ll be fine with some onigiri and a few strips of Basculin,” Laventon says with a smile, nodding once before glancing at Akari. “Do you want a bowl, old girl?” Akari pauses for a moment before nodding, deciding that Oran berries might help her feel better. Balanced and smooth flavor, it might actually stay down even with how her stomach currently screamed at the sound of food.
The two sit silently for a moment, waiting for the food to arrive, before Laventon speaks up. “Warden Ingo’s been stabilized,” he says softly, keeping his eyes on Akari. “Pesselle is keeping an eye out for infections, but the wounds seem fine at the moment.” He finally looks away, letting Akari breathe out in relief at the news. She quickly looks down at the table so that when he looks back at her, she won’t need to maintain eye contact.
“Elesa hasn’t left his room yet,” Laventon says as he watches Beni prepare the food. “She was finally falling asleep when I came to get you.” Akari hears him sigh, and refuses to look up at the noise. She knows he’s going to look at her, and there’s not a fucking chance that she can keep any eye contact with him. Not after watching her other uncle nearly die.
Beni sets down the food in front of them, turning and pausing for a moment. He turns his head, the action making Akari break her focus from the table. She winces hard, not expecting to see the look of pity across the chef’s face as he turns away. Her fists ball up, and she stabs one of her chopsticks into a slice of Oran Berry, then chews it furiously. As she swallows the juices and berries, she can feel her stomach settle slightly and the headache that was forming begins to lessen. Progress.
The pair silently eat for a moment, Akari finishing off the Oran slices before touching her rice. When Laventon attempts to offer her some Basculin, she pushes it back towards him, her head barely moving into a shake. Laventon pulls it back, his eyes still trained on Akari as she silently eats the rice. “Kamado isn’t angry if that is what you are worried about.”
Akari cannot hide the flinch from Laventon, and she screams in her mind as he sighs, his shoulders just barely dropping into her view with the action. Don’t pity me don’t pity me don’t pity me don’t pity me Akari struggles for a moment to silence her inner voice, realizing that Laventon is looking at her with worry, almost expecting a response. She breathes deeply a few times before finally speaking for the first time since she hugged the Professor. “He’ll find a reason to be mad at me.”
“Akari, my girl,” Laventon starts to say, his hand coming to rest at the center of the table, “I promise to you, he is-”
“BUT YOU CAN’T PROMISE THAT!” Akari didn’t mean to shout, but it felt so good to let her frustration out, even on the wrong person. Thankfully, Laventon doesn’t shrink back at the outburst or look at her with fear, though she can hear Beni shift in the kitchen at the noise. “Kamado hates me, Professor! He’s hated me since I stepped foot into the village!”
The tears are beginning to run down Akari’s face as she pushes the half-eaten bowl of rice to the side, sending it spinning towards the edge of the table, stopping moments before falling off. “He treated me like a fucking tool to use to keep Jubilife save, he threw me out when the sky turned red, and then he tried to act like nothing happened! He probably wishes it was ME who fell off that cliff!” She buries her face into her hands and begins sobbing, unable to hold herself together.
She registers Laventon moving, she can feel him rub her shoulder and hear him speak, trying to calm her down, to reassure her, to walk her through her emotions like he had with her and Rei several times before. But she blocks him out, just wanting to get the emotions out now instead of in front of Kamado. If you do this in front of the Commander, you will be removed from the village the voice in her head, the Seviper’s thin voice, tells her. Her own doubts know her situation better than anyone else would.
Akari is brought back slightly by Laventon gently pushing her to the side and sitting down next to her, pulling her into a soft hug. “Good evening, good night,” he sings softly in Galarian, more spoken word in whisper than proper singing, “with roses covered, with cloves adorned, slip under the covers.” Akari leans herself into his side, working to control her breath as she focuses on his singing. “Tomorrow morning, if King wills, you will wake once again.”
“Tomorrow morning, if King wills, you will wake once again.” The lullaby hadn’t lasted long, but it was enough to silence the Seviper in Akari’s mind. With a shuddering breath, Akari pulls away and looks for her bowl through teary eyes before pulling it closer, jabbing her chopsticks into it repeatedly as she comes back together..
“When did the Commander want me?”
“Anytime,” Laventon says softly, gently ruffling Akari’s hair before getting up to move back to his side of the booth. “Finish eating, take time to collect yourself. You’ll be fine.” And Akari took her time, slowly eating the remaining rice in her bowl, asking Laventon to teach her more of the lullaby. Just to hear her dad sing again.
—
It was nearly 40 minutes before Akari found herself in Kamado’s office, his face cleared of the tears and eyes clearer than they had been. Cyllene wasn’t in her office when she had passed, just that once change from normal being enough to almost set Akari back on edge. But with a final bit of support and a pat on the back from Laventon, she scales the staircase to Kamado’s office alone.
Ever since the Red Sky, ever since Kamado had banished her from the village, ever since he showed his true colors, Akari had refused to be alone with the man. He seemed understanding enough of the choice, but that wasn’t enough to make her comfortable around him. This could be a massive step forward, or her stupidest decision. Hesitating halfway up the stairs, Akari screws her eyes shut and prays to Ar– To Mesprit that Cyllene is in the office.
She could quickly tell that her silent plea was unheard as she sees Kamado working on some paperwork at his desk, though he glances up at Akari as she comes to the top of the stairs. She can’t read the look in his eyes (it can’t be pity, this man has none of that in his body), and chooses to focus on his moustache, which twitches slightly as he sits up. “Go ahead and sit down, Akari,” he says gruffly, gesturing to the chairs that he had brought into the office recently.
Akari quickly sits down, refusing to disobey an order from the Commander without Ingo or Cyllene there to back her up. He squares his jaw, his lips barely peeking out from under his moustache before he sighs. “I’m not going to blame you. I just need you to wait for Cyllene to arrive with Irida,” he says, looking back down at his paperwork. Akari is still trying to time how long it would take her to reach the door, but she at least could calm down slightly knowing that he wasn’t going to remove her from the Village again.
The pair sit silently in the office for several long minutes, Akari never taking her eyes off of the Commander, who would occasionally glance up at her with (not pity) that same unreadable look. There’s suddenly the sound of people moving down on the first floor, causing Akari to squirm slightly. “Do you need my report on the survey, Commander?”
Kamado looks up at her like he’s about to say it doesn’t matter, before his mouth closes and he sighs softly. (Don’t act like you care.) “Go ahead, Akari.”
The movement reaches the bottom of the staircase to the office as Akari begins speaking. “We had decided that the most likely course to put a new town would be the current camp at the coast,” she says quietly, trying to sound confident but most definitely failing. “Un- Ingo mentioned that the only path there would go through Aipom Hill, so we’d need to talk to Adaman and Iscan for permission.” The footsteps approach the door, and stop for a moment as they hear her speak.
Kamado looks past Akari for a moment, and Akari resists the urge to look back at whoever it was herself. “Go ahead and have a seat, Irida,” he says softly, and Akari takes the chance to look over to see Irida quickly step into the office and sit down in the other chair in front of Kamado’s desk. Akari frowns and looks away from the Leader, not wanting to see her haunted expression or catch eye contact with her as Irida looks her way. “Akari was just telling me the result of the survey for the new town before you and Cyllene arrived. Would you like us to put that aside, or may she continue?”
“Go ahead,” Irida says, speaking fast through her anxiety and her voice strained by worry. “Let Adaman worry about the time. Ak-” She stumbles on her words for a moment before picking them back up, “I need some space to collect my thoughts and ensure that I have everything I intended to bring.”
“Understood,” Kamado says with a nod, before looking past Akari again. “Feel free to stay, Captain. That way you can help Sanqua with the planning afterwards.” Akari turns and sees Cyllene step up to her side, and relaxes a little as she places a hand onto Akari’s shoulder. Her Captain says nothing as she nods to Kamado, giving Akari the floor to speak again.
“So, to, uh, to reiterate,” Akari says, getting herself back on track now that she had more of an audience, “we think that the base camp at the coast is the best place for a new town. We can take the shipwrecks and salvage a bit of materials from them, as well as build it into a port, maybe?” Akari shifts a little in her seat, Cyllene’s hand still laying on her shoulder. “We’d have to build the full supply lane through Aipom Hill, but Ingo said it would most likely be the best option.”
Irida opens her mouth for a second, then pauses before actually speaking. “But Palina mentioned seeing his partner over by the cape when she checked in this morning? Did she split from you two and go exploring?”
Akari clenches her jaw tight, and breathes in deep. “Not exactly,” she says quietly. “We- I decided we should check the lake in the north of the Coastlands in case it was usable.” Kamado’s eyebrows furrow as he thinks, then he nods, acknowledging that he knows the lake she is talking about, with Irida slowly mimicking the motion. “If we could find a straight line to it, it would be accessible without having to go through Diamond or Pearl land, theoretically.”
Kamado nods, his eyes closing as he thinks. “That’s quite the idea, Akari. If there is a cave or a steady enough incline across the cliffs, then that could be a solid place for a town.” He brings his hand up and strokes his moustache, placing his fingers under his nose and stroking outwards. “Though, I’m not sure what it looks like across the cliffs personally. I’ve never made the journey.”
“It was a terrible idea,” Akari says swiftly and bitterly, sinking into her chair. “It’s a cliff on both sides and then the lake is surrounded by cliffs again so it’s all cut-off. Worthless.” (Like me.) She feels Cyllene’s hand tighten on her shoulder and takes in a deep breath. “Ingo and I had climbed up the one side, Sneasler helping me get up the cliff while Ingo free climbed.”
Irida nods along, not at all shocked that Ingo was climbing cliff faces unassisted. It was a skill he had been forced to pick up to keep pace with Sneasler in the mountains. Akari takes a few moments to breathe before speaking. “On the… Way back, we heard some fighting. We had, uh, we had passed a few Alphas on the way to the cliffs, and one of them apparently followed. So Elesa was fighting it, and I think she was probably honestly winning, but we couldn’t tell from up on the cliffs, and I panicked and had Sneasler take me down, and Ingo started climbing down on his own and then he fell and he hit the ground and I thought he di-”
Akari flinches slightly as she feels Cyllene’s fingers dig in her shoulder for a moment before relaxing. She shakingly takes a breath and looks up at her Captain. “That’s far enough, Akari. I believe I have all the information that I will need to pass on to Sanqua.” ‘Do not push yourself’ is unsaid, but heard by everyone in the room. “If I may have the floor, Commander, I believe I can better fill in Irida and Akari of Warden Ingo’s current state.”
Kamado wordlessly nods, and Cyllene lets go of Akari’s shoulder. Akari sinks down slightly, but raises her head to look at Cyllene as she talks. “Warden Ingo is currently in stable condition,” she says professionally, her voice level and her attention placed on the Commander. It was almost calming to hear, given how normal this demeanor was for her. “He has a broken femur on his right leg, which Pesselle has set into place to prevent the bones from floating and healing misaligned. He broke his shoulder blade on the left side, and as such his arm is in a sling to immobilize it until he is cleared for movement.”
Cyllene pauses for a moment, looking first at Irida who gives a small nod to continue. Her mouth tries to twitch into a smile, probably out of personal comfort, but doesn’t move. Cyllene then looks down at Akari, and gives her a soft smile and puts her hand back on her shoulder for a moment before continuing.
“Overall for the fractures, there is a 7 week recovery expected for the shoulder, and a 6 month recovery for the femur.” Akari and Irida both let out a small sigh as they hear that recovery is expected. “Onto his other injuries, he has a particularly bad friction burn on his back from the landing, as well as a laceration on the forehead.” Akari’s breath hitches and Cyllene squeezes her shoulder again. “He woke up briefly, and was able to recall where he was and who was with him, so his memories seem to be intact. At the moment, he seems to have no sign of infection and his fever broke shortly before I went to get Irida.”
Kamado nods several times at the information, and lets out a held breath. “I’m glad to hear that he’s through the fever. It would’ve been a shame to lose a good man like him.” You threatened to lock him up. The thought went through Akari’s head faster than she could register, and judging from the way that Irida’s eyes narrowed, it probably went through hers as well. “I believe you brought something with you, Irida?”
“Yes,” she says as she opens the bundle on her lap. In it are wrapped packs of… Plants? “While I do trust your medical procedures here, Wardens of the Pearl Clan must still be given traditional methods of healing.” Akari dully noted that Irida sounded like she was speaking from a script. “The first is otompui-kina,” she says as she unwraps the larger bundle, revealing a large leafy plant with small yellow flowers, “which I believe you have in your stock as common celandine. I brought some so that you won’t have to pull from your stores.”
She offers a plant to Cyllene to look over as she continues. “They need to be softened in boiling water, and then the leaves and stems wrapped around the broken bones. We’ve found that they help reduce swelling and pain.” Irida pauses to take a breath before opening her second bundle. “And these are shikerebe-ni, which you might know as the bark of the Amur cork tree. If bruised in boiling water and applied to wounds, it helps to reduce pain on open wounds.” She pulls out some thin strips of bark. “Calaba says they are very effective for injuries from falls. She also recommended getting a bundle of kuzu root and burning the end before rubbing the char on the wound to help reduce bruising.”
Cyllene accepts the bark that Irida offers and looks over it. “I’m sure that Pesselle will be glad to have more materials to work with.”
As the Kamado begins to ask Irida some more questions about the preparations of the plants, Akari reaches out and gently tugs on Cyllene’s sleeve to get her attention. “Do I need to be here? I have some work to do in the Highlands.”
Cyllene’s lips purse for a moment before she shakes her head and answers softly. “You may leave. I don’t think Kamado or Irida need anything more from you.” She glances over to Irida, then Kamado, before speaking up. “At least check in with Elesa before you go, and check in by nightfall with a base camp Starly.”
Akari nods, and quickly slides out of the chair, walking quickly to the staircase. She has to put aside her fears. She has to do this.
After all, it’s all her fault.
—
Emmet winces as his shoulder flares, huffing into his udon noodles. The noodles are actually quite good, and the broth is very tasty. Verrrrry umami. Unfortunately, instead of eating this wonderful bowl, he was stirring it into a lukewarm soup. Very sad, yup.
Cynthia should be here soon, which is why Emmet found himself stirring tasty noodles instead of eating tasty noodles. Hmm. He can’t stop thinking about tasty noodles, maybe he should eat them.
As he brings the noodles to his mouth, Elio pops over and sits down next to him. “Hey Uncle! How’s the noodles?” Emmet doesn’t bother speaking as he takes another mouthful of udon, simply closing his eyes and nodding enthusiastically. The teenager sighs, putting their head down on the table. “I should’ve ordered some. The takoyaki from that stand really sucked.”
Emmet reaches over and pats Elio on the back, swallowing so he can speak. “I am Emmet. You should’ve known better than to buy takoyaki from a Galarian stand,” he jokes, before swirling up more noodles and taking a bite.
“At least it wasn’t alive like the other place,” Elio says, shuddering. “I don’t know why they had the Octillery in view, I feel like that doesn’t sell well.”
“I agree,” Emmet mumbles through a mouthful of udon. “So, did you just come to complain about food regret?”
“Oh, no,” Elio says, sitting up. “Cynthia’s waiting at the Galaxy Building.”
Emmet leans back in his chair and groans. “And here I thought I might get to enjoy this, yup.” He slides the bowl over to Elio with a heavy sigh before standing up. “Enjoy the udon, I’ll talk to you in a bit.” With that, Emmet turns and walks out of the hotel room.

TW: MENTION OF LOSING A LIMB/GORE MENTION please be advised.
Hello! I have a prompt where, the reader pushes there lover (warden Ingo, cyllene, laventon, adaman SEPARATE) away from an Alpha Pokemon attack and then get seriously injured (like losing a limb or something) and them crying and telling us off on how we could have died or grieving our death.
(both surviving and dying endings please)
Oh yes delicious angst! 👀
Cw: almost losing a limb/losing a limb, reader death, mourning, depression, angst no happy end.
Reader becoming severely injured or dying saving them.
Warden Ingo
(Close call)
Ingo carried you, blood staining his coat and your outfit. He carried you going as fast as he humanly could down until the nearest doctor, anyone who could help—screaming for help, keeping you warm, and losing more blood in any way he could. When you finally wake up, Ingo is out of breath and on the verge of tears. He holds you close, tight, and protective. He couldn't get mad at you. He could never be mad. He was just relieved you were all right. However I would be lying if I said he wouldn't be a little more protective from now on.
(reader dead)
He stared at a shaky palm, remembering the way you went slack in his arms, bags under his eyes from sleepless nights filled with new and old nightmares. The painful feeling of losing something was so painful; however, what scared him more was that this feeling was familiar to him. The emptiness inside him was only doubled after. He can't even look at himself anymore because whatever stares back is your smiling face and deja vu. Even though he knows he must take care of himself, he has to admit it's hard even to bring himself to eat these days without looking over to your smiling face how he misses you're warmth in his arms. Now, all he feels is the cold, howling wind of Coronet Heights. Once again that loneliness fills him in this time; it will be there till his grave. Ingo cannot love again for he can not feel that love again.
Cyllene
(close call)
Survivors guilt, as you lie there on the ground losing blood at an alarming rate. She's frozen. She's almost in denial as other survey members rush to your limb body. Cyllene finally snaps out of it all. Her panic hits her all at once, barking orders to get you back to camp.
Unfortunately Pesselle running low on supplies and with time running out she wasn't sure she would be able to save you. Upon hearing this Revelation something inside her stoked a fire Cyllene took it upon herself to go out and find every single ingredients she needed helping her nurse you back to health, of course you being unconscious from blood loss for a few days you had no idea all you woke up to was an angry rant from a very very pissed captain.
(Death)
After all she did, she couldn't save you. Sadness and rage bubble into one, gritting her teeth, nails scratching at the cold ground; she wants to scream. Damn it why wasn't it her? Damn, it should have been her! The job of the Galaxy Core was to protect people and she couldn't even protect the one person she cared most. She needed to get stronger she needed to be more so this would never happen again. And that's why her heart grows three times colder that day.
Laventon
(close call)
Laventon drag you outside of Camp to look at some Pokemon well he asks you to ready your pokeballs for a catch, but he doesn't notice the alpha Garchomp that had their eyes on you. Everything was a blur then helplessly sitting still as the rest of Team Galaxy tried everything to use your Pokemon to fight the alpha back off as they get you back to safety. If only he could throw a Pokeball if he were good at raising Pokemon. Laventon felt like a burden to you here he was having you risk his life to do his work any friendly wake up he's on the verge of tears holding you closely his hands shaking the sinking feeling of uselessness does not leave.
(Death)
He drowns himself in his work. It is the only way to make him forget about his constant nightmares of that day. He still loves Pokemon. He does not blame Pokemon for taking your life, but he recognizes more than anyone else that Pokemon are as dangerous as they are fascinating. It'll be a while since he touches one without his heart beating with anxiety. He barely eats. He sleeps. All he does is work on his Pokedex. He has to finish it for your sake, or else all the dangerous work you did, the work you died for, will be for nothing, and when he finally finishes, it will say, "With the help of my beloved, thank you. I will miss you."
Adaman
(close call)
If it wasn't for Leafeon who growled at the large Pokemon making sure it didn't take a step closer as his human brother held you in his arms, blood staining his fingers. Leafeon successfully holding back the Pokemon that threatened your life walks over to Adaman whining as he looks your arm giving him a worried look. Adaman knows the natural remedies around these parts you are too far from the settlement and the village to take care of you so he does all that he can using leafeon's aromatherapy to soothe you as he begins to use natural herbs and revenues to calm the bleeding as much as he can while ripping apart his own clothes for makeshift bandages rumoring through your bag for anything he could use anything at all to help.
Upon waking up, Adaman almost tackles you, holding you close to his body, careful not to hurt you. He squeezes you gently. "You're an idiot..." he whispers, his hand shaking, his voice breaking. "don't you ever scare me like that again."
(death)
If only he was faster and in denial at the fact that your time has ended. If only he hadn't wasted his time, he could have gotten you to the settlement, and you would have been here. He felt like a failure, not only a failure of a friend but a failure of the leader of Diamond Clan. If he couldn't keep one person he loved alive, how could he keep his entire Clan alive? Time is truly short. However, some people, if unlucky, can be even shorter. He'll spend all his days morning into training, getting stronger in your name until he has passed out on the ground. He knows that he's just wasting his time and that no amount of tears will bring you back. He did not deserve you; you did not serve your time being robbed. The Lord Sinnoh is so cruel.

TW: WEED MENTION
If this is against your rules or makes you uncomfortable feel free to ignore
Imagine introducing weed/edibles/blunts to characters the PLA characters?
I imagine that melli has a sad/depressive high like full blown sobbing type of high.
volo and Iscan are just having the worst panic attack of there entire fucking lives.
Irida and Kamado can't even remember their own fucking names with them being the most relaxed they've ever been.
Adaman, Mai, and Gaeric are just fucking GONE, like out of this world gone, having the best nap of their entire lives.
Ingo is making blueprints of a whole ass fucking train.
Meanwhile Cyllene is having a serious case of the munchies.
Arezu is brainstorming different types of haircuts and styles and going fucking crazy over it.
Palina, Lian, Sabi, Akari, Rai and Calaba are the only ones not high (of the main cast anyway) and are panicking/wandering what the hell is going on.
Meanwhile we're just looking for our edibles/weed/blunt wondering where the hell it went, unknowing of the chaos we unleashed.
AGAIN IF THIS IS AGAINST YOUR RULES OR MAKES YOU UNCOMFORTABLE I AM VERY SORRY, AND I HOPE YOU CAN FORGIVE ME. But anyways just a funny thought
ksajfksldfj it's fine! Sorry it took so long to get to this one.
I'm giggling, just imagining if they don't already have weed in ancient Hisui, they accidentally discover your stash.
Plus I love the idea of Ingo just locking the fuck in, unlocking memories of a train specifically- he somehow knows it by the back of his hand. Zisu is looking over his shoulder awed as his hand moves a mile a minute, painting the perfect blueprints.
Cyllene gets the munchies, but also locks in. All her paperwork for the week is done in just 3 hours. Kamado wonders what spell you put her under.
Volo definitely has one of the worst trips of everyone, which is really unfortunate. Perhaps edibles aren't for him?
Meanwhile, he's curled up in a corner, visions of Giratina flashing whenever he closes his eyes, all while he feels like he's seasick on land.
Please help him.

Erin accidentally using the official Gear Station twitter account to tag Cyllene in a Minecraft meme. Ingo is confused about why people are asking him about that while Emmet is laughing at his nephew's error. Eventually, Ingo deletes it, but Erin is frozen in his shame over his mistake. Depot Agents keep mentioning it to him. (Cyllene is mildly entertained by the error.)

thinking abt. poke slayer again. for no real reason except i like to annoy my followers with nonsense posts i guess.
ANYWAY i still really really love the idea that ingo is not only the guy rei/akari meet immediately after the attack, but he is ALSO periodically meeting up with them afterwards seemingly randomly. he's always very vague about what business, exactly, has him in the area to coincidentally run into them again. actually he's vague about a Lot of things. boy he sure seems to keep up pretty well with slayer techniques and their general locations, and he knew where to find cyllene (their first proper mentor), is he a demon slayer himself? hmm. well. hm. he is. not exactly affiliated with them no.
so akari comes to the conclusion pretty quickly that he's a demon. this is not a hard logical leap to make. especially since he always has to reach up to his mask when he's talking, which she's fairly sure is bc the mask is also a gag that he can't talk through, like it's held in his teeth or something, which is why he knew to give one to rei before he bit anyone. and he tries to keep his face and as much skin as possible covered at all times, like he doesn't want anyone to get a proper look at him. and he's weirdly up-to-date on the locations and plans of various demons wherever he is. again. not a hard conclusion to come to if you're looking for long enough.
anyway eventually this gets brought up with a more experienced slayer at some point, like akari casually mentions oh yeah, inu, friend of ours, helped me and rei out, tall guy, absolutely shit posture, black wolf mask, etc. and the hashira or whoever slams the brakes so hard like YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS?
and akari's like what, oh, yeah, i mean, i figure he's a demon. it's just like, it feels like it would be rude to ask at this point, and he's not hostile, so i've just been kind of hoping it never came up-
hashira (ignoring her) is like EVERYBODY SHUT THE FUCK UP, the newbie recruit has apparently been hanging out with the FIRST FUCKING KIZUKI??
#the nemesis speaks#poke slayer#retroactive heart attack holy shit you were in So Much Danger#and then the follow up discussion after the initial heart attack phase was over with namely: the first kizuki has more than zero chill??#usually the news we get abt that guy is like. very vague descriptions of indiscriminate flesh-rending from traumatized survivors#even other demons are scared shitless by the mention of this dude. like they will Sprint to vacate the premises if they think he's otw#you're telling us it can hold a conversation?? it was HELPFUL?? what in the actual goddamn??#(usually ingo avoids people when not being actively sicced on someone by muzan. the protags are An Exception. bc rei)

I know for the Phione AU that Zisu gets involved actively and is one of the few who know who that clingy little Pokemon actually is.
What I think would be hilarious is that she does get to know and involved accidentally.
Hear me out: when Ingo and Akari rest in the Dojo they also chat with each other. One evening Zisu is working late at the Dojo but not in a way that Ingo immediately notices. So he and Akari are chatting and making plans for the next day (with Akari probably protesting to Ingo to take more breaks) and Zisu overhears everything. (Let’s take the day after the run-in with Kana when they both want to talk to Laventon; he could also allow Ingo to hold onto Akari’s stuff as he "feels better to have them in his hands and how Akari wherever she might be would appreciate it as well" for everyone else. They talk about that at the Dojo and plans for the next day without them noticing Zisu until she almost connects the dots. Now once they notice her she gets involved and helps Akari to force Ingo to more breaks. And keeps an eye on things in Jubilife. ("Also Ingo you owe me a meal of Potato Mochi for having to deal with Kana in your stead!")
Would make a great addition to the au!
I’m answering this one even though I’m technically looking at it like a prompt because I do want to eventually write how people find out anyways, and this is actually pretty close to how I imagined it would go down!!
In one of my short fics for it, Forgot, I wrote that Zisu keeps the dojo unlocked for Ingo at night to stay in whenever he happens to be in the village (at this time I do not write like Ingo has a unit set aside for him, I don’t imagine him to usually stay in Jubilife enough to have one).
And in it, Ingo mentions that he wants to start letting some people know soon. Ingo and Akari of course sleep in. By the time they wake up, Zisu’s already at the dojo and probably overhears Ingo and Akari talking about telling everyone again, and Akari’s still reluctant.
Zisu’s already been concerned about Ingo’s behavior lately (in my other short fic, Bucket), and only hearing half the conversation, she pesters Ingo about who he’s talking to and what he’s talking about. Akari didn’t agree yet, and as much as Ingo wants to tell her, he shuts up about it for her sake. Zisu eventually gets it out of him somehow though lol.
I’m just wondering if Zisu should be the first one to find out like right after this? Because then Akari would see how relieved Zisu is and how she won’t tell anyone herself if Akari’s going to let people know. It’s a good experience and it makes her less scared to let Laventon and Rei know, and finally she’s ok with Ingo telling them (and later even Cyllene. It’s a complete 180° because then Ingo becomes the one that’s entirely unsure about doing that haha)
And yes!! Zisu would definitely make Ingo take breaks. Know that she knows what’s going on she’s going to probably confess to Ingo that she’s been concerned over him and that he NEEDS to pace himself. Akari wants him to take breaks and Zisu will help him just so he has no excuse not to. That definitely includes dealing with Kana on his behalf and getting potato mochi out of it haha.
Got some of my thoughts going now on something that had previously been murky! Thanks anon! I may write about this soon ^^

Pokémon Legends Arceus Retained Memories Headcanons
TW: Depictions of PTSD
• So we all know that the protagonist is post Daimond/Pearl/Platinum Dawn/Lucas (whichever you picked), so why doesn't it feel like that. It honestly feels like they've lost their memories like Ingo did, but that's clearly not the case as proven by their dialogue choices, so here's a few headcanons I made where MC remembers everything.
• Upon meeting certain characters, MC will tense up as if ready for battle. These characters would include Laventon(upon noticing the golden G on his lab coat), Cyllene, Arezu, and Coin. Likewise, they would have an overall positive reaction to Rei/Akari, Kamado, Volo, Mei, and Cogita.
• Upon finding space time rift Pokémon, excluding Sneasel and Weavile, MC makes their own Pokedex entries, which Laventon studies with the type of glee only a researcher can show.
Magnemite: The magnets at its sides are used to feed off of the electricity contained within a metal unit. The advancement of technology in this creature's time makes Pokémon like this much more common.
Magneton: As a Magnemite grows in strength, so to does its magnetism, often times causing it to link with other Magnemite forming Magneton. The increased magnetism has also increased this Pokémon's core temperature significantly. Direct physical contact is ill-advised.
Magnezone: Exposure to Hisui's central mountain's magnetic field has caused the three Magnemites' bodies to meld into one Manezone. Using its magnetic waves, it is capable of a form of echolocation similar to Zubat's. How magnetic waves are capable of this is difficult to explain, but if one ever finds a Magnezone in the wild, it is best to take cover and wait for it to pass.
Porygon: An artificial being created by future technology. Calling this thing a life form seems rather extreme, as all studies have shown it has no will of its own, only having just enough of a mind to receive and execute a command. No mind to think and no will to break.
Porygon 2: After receiving an Up-grade, Porygon has gained intelligence and emotions. While still having no signs of life such as a heartbeat, it is now more than the mindless tool it started as.
Porygon Z: A faulty upgrade has made its way into Porygon's mind. This Pokémon is erratic and unstable in its behavior and movements. Those kept in Pokéballs seem to be tame enough. If you encounter one in the wild, however, RUN.
Fossil Pokémon (Proffesor Laventon does a good enough job, this is more of just a side note.): This Pokémon was brought back to life using futuristic technology.
• Knowing the truth behind Sinnoh (Palkia and Dialga), they find the feud between the clans frustrating and stupid for different reasons than everybody else
• When the sky turns red, I think this would cause MC to go into a full panic attack, because they know what's happening, they know how to stop it, but they don't know how to reach the lake guardians considering they're sealed off.
• Volo is surprised when they mention Giratina. He's even more surprised when they say their Giratina saved them.
• I feel like Volo's betrayal would have more or less the same impact.

Hey again, sorry I'm not posting for my lack of posts. My switch stopped working, so I had to get a new one and a myriad of information is no long readily available to me, but this popped in my mind, and I just had to write it. I might add more to this later, but at the moment I can't think of anything that doesn't pertain to the story. Anyway, I know I've said this countless times already, but it bears repeating for those who need it, feel free to use this if it inspired you in any way.

In another life, Volo smiles in a way that gives his eyes a strange shape and says: “Don’t worry about tomorrow.”
Ingo looks up at him, piercing him with his blank gaze: “I’m afraid that mentioning something I should not worry about whilst not specifying what exactly that will be is bound to have the opposite effect on my peace of mind.”
Volo laughs softly, face turning genuine: “Something frightening will happen.”
“Ah. It is simply another part of the plan, I assume?”
“Very much so.”
“Thank you for warning me in advance.”
The merchant shakes a hand back and forth as if to say it’s nothing, index and middle finger raised. It looks like he’s giving him a holy blessing of sorts.
“If all goes well, you’ll even be home early!”
When the sky turns green and red, Ingo breathes evenly, and waits.
In another life, Ingo’s breath hitches in the night.
His hands are red and cold and he keeps repeating to himself, like a mantra, the instructions for covering one’s tracks in the snow while hunting or retreating as he follows them to the letter, just like the clan taught him, and thinking of the kind people makes his guilt jut a spike right through his chest, and he bites his lip and tries to ignore it.
The Lord sleeps with a quiet rumble that turns into a howling whistle as he exhales, the ice in his breath freezing Ingo all the way down to the marrow in his trembling bones. At least, it means he won’t wake up anytime soon.
He searches the enormous body feverishly, its every crack and nook. He peers into the dark maws as they open slightly: nothing. Until...
Overcome by such relief that he almost cries, he reaches out, at once careful and deliriously frantic, until his almost frostbitten grasp clenches around the stone. Maybe it’s his diminished sense of touch, but something about it feels completely alien in a manner he can’t understand, at once both above and below nature itself.
The Lord does not stir; Ingo rushes away, plate tight against his chest, masking his passage to pretend nothing happened tonight, absolutely nothing, while shame shrieks in his head unheard in the cold air about the assassination of trust he’s just tainted his hands with.
The Pearl Clan already has a home, whether a piece of the Original One is held in their possession or not.
He just wants to have a home again, too.
Ingo hopes they’ll understand.
In another life, the Survey Corps kid returns to Jubilife confused.
Pompous words echo in their mind: “If you’re talking about that pesky thing, it’s been dealt with. And it didn’t even leave a feather for all the trouble it caused!”
“Excuse me,” a voice that is outside their head snaps them back to reality.
Ingo, who barely talks to them outside of battles, greets them with a polite nod and his usual frown that reminds them in a way of Captain Cyllene’s.
“I hadn’t heard you had planned a detour to Mount Coronet tonight,” he starts off. “I suppose you too had been told of the commotion around Moonview Arena - I left for the Highlands just this morning to deal with it myself. I would have gladly spared you the trip.”
He produces a dark slab from one of his pockets and simply hands it to them.
They stare at it.
Neither makes a move for the next few seconds.
“I imagine this might be something of interest for you,” he says halfway between a question, an affirmation, and an encouragement.
The kid snaps out of their momentary stupor; they take it from his kind grip without much fanfare, mumbling their thanks as a quiet blush dusts their cheeks. They didn’t mean to just stand around like that - they feel terribly silly. He doesn’t seem to mind, thankfully.
Just as he turns to make his way back to the dojo with a quick tilt of his cap to bid his goodbyes, their voice rises again to catch his attention: “Did Sneasler give you one, too? A plate, I mean? Like this one?”
He follows their finger as it points to the object.
“The other Nobles gave me one,” they clarify sheepishly, ashamed of their forwardness: “Except Electrode and Avalugg. So I thought, maybe...”
The man hums as he considers their reasoning: “I wasn’t aware of such a thing before I was told. Perhaps she does still have it, unless she has shared it with someone else. I can inquire for Electrode as well once I return to the Highlands, though Avalugg is out of my jurisdiction, so - I’m afraid I cannot help with that. Gaeric always striked me as a helpful fellow, though; perhaps he’ll be able to lend you a hand.”
They smile brightly at him: “Thank you.”
They bow slightly before setting off for the next plate, and miss the unspoken lies the warden carefully tiptoes around telling them.
In another life, Volo’s eyes glimmer as they settle on the teen.
“You’ve been called here,” he proceeds, bout of loquaciousness still not extinguished, “You’ve been chosen, that’s plain to see. A grateful, merciful god doesn’t abandon its chosens - is it wrong to assume you’ll be granted a return from whence you came once your duty is done?”
His head tilts slightly to the side.
The kid can almost see his other eye behind golden hair.
“It must be an act of plain cruelty,” he says: “To be left in a time and place you don’t belong to, with no certainty you’ll go back.”
He smiles a little wider.
“Wouldn’t you agree?”
In another life, Volo finds the way that lost fool believes so blindly in his every word so pathetically amusing that he has to hold himself back from laughing in his face each time he crosses that look of wholehearted trust.
In another life, Volo slots a hopeless man’s only hope onto his back, together with the end of Cogita’s heartbroken grieving and his tremendous desire to do good, pure good, and his knees tremble a bit more under the expectations.
In another life, Ingo spends days in a cell torturing the wrist now forcibly freed of the warden bracelet to give himself some peace of mind, pacing back and forth, thinking furiously, to ignore the slight chill seeping into his undershirt from beneath his coat.
For an hour, he despairs about his predicament, about being betrayed, left like that; for another he berates himself for having believed so readily, for having given up community in exchange for myths and fairytales and empty promises; for another, he hates himself as much as the clan despises him, for the same reasons as them; for another, he hates the man in whose hands he so stupidly agreed to put his life.
After some time he stops thinking and only cries, cries, cries.
In another life, the kid gawks dumbly at the five missing plates as Volo carefully hides them back with a slight of hand that makes them disappear in mid-air, not expecting to have been beaten to them, not knowing two were stolen, two were given, and one was caught.
He smiles at them with an indecipherable expression. His free fingers extend, demandingly.
“Hand them over,” he orders, his voice like an airy laugh and his teeth as white as marble, as bleached and polished bone: “There’s a score I have been waiting far too long to settle with Arceus.”
“No!” they manage to blurt out amidst their state of shock, and though they gasp for breath no other words come out of their lips.
Volo smiles a little wider, looking past them.
“Please,” a voice that really does sound like it’s begging them rises from behind their back; Ingo stands, slouched but tense, and looks at them in the eyes. “I would advise complying with Volo’s request.”
The sentence stumbles out of their mouth: “What are you doing here?”
“I must catch a coincidence,” the man replies, unblinking, still as a statue: “My train departs from here, as soon as you kindly provide us with the plates.”
Confusion makes their brain swim as though they’d gotten a concussion.
They look back at the merchant. No explanation: his eyes have gotten narrower, more sinister as the setting sun dies into a halo behind blonde hair and casts a long, terrible shadow on the familiar face, turning it dark, grey, supernatural.
They look back at the warden. No explanation: his throat constricts as he gulps down a dry breath, his frame sways ever so slightly in an antsy worried uncertainty, his teeth catch a portion of his lip to bite and easy his anxiety.
Their gaze divided between the two, vocal chords fail them. Their head shakes, movement growing harsher as their footing turns steadier.
Ingo fetches a Pokéball out of his coat.
He waits for them to get one of their own to defend themselves with after fumbling a little for the surprise and fear, and swallows another breath.
His tone cracks under the terrible burden of plain, candid honesty: “I apologize,” he says, and his chest recoils into his shoulders like it really, really does hurt to force their hand like this, “It’s the only way I can go home.”
The apricorn ball leaves his hand: the Alpha Probopass once blessed to guard the Stone Plate roars above Spear Pillar.
In another life, Ingo listens carefully to the professor as he recounts the fight just a stairwell away from the sky (where he was supposed to be, had Kamado not requested he remain in the Village the whole day) as the kid beloved by Arceus told it.
“Ah,” he says once the other man finishes, pale beyond belief, looking almost sick: “Thank goodness he was stopped.”
He spends half of the night biting into his arm to muffle his cries of despair. He leaves the village during the other half, uncaring of any Pokémon or people who might encounter him, heading to the Cobalt Coastlands: his hands bleed and the soles of his shoes crack as he scales the seaside cliffs until he’s finally reached the top of the tower of rock overgrown with moss, shivering as his muscles scream, and he enters the cave the uncatious scientist revealed to him as the hiding place of the terrible creature who might be his last chance at returning from where he came.
In another life, Volo breathes slowly as the dark coat falls further and further down the side of the mountain, following the itinerary of a smaller body.
His palms sweat. He dries them on the marble.
Casualties weren’t planned.
Grabbing the Sky Flute for himself, mind numbed by the sight of two people careening down the mountain at his hands, some part of him soothes him.
He’ll fix that too, along with everything else, in just a moment.
In another life, the man looks at him like he’s out of his mind.
Volo laughs gently: “I don’t blame your disbelief.”
“It’s not-” the other tries to excuse himself, “I just - you - how can you be so certain that it was-?”
“-The work of Arceus?” he finishes. “I doubt it could be anybody else’s. Few beings could harness a power to cause your situation, and it’s not like Its children of Space and Time to cause such misfortunes in Its stead - no, they’ve had an example of what punishment could be for them far too long ago, with their sibling’s banishment.”
“Their sibling’s?”
Volo’s finger wags in the air as his tone turns paradoxically excited in the span of a second, clashing with the tense atmosphere: “Yes, a third god of reality directly descended from the Original One! Most information about it has been lost to time, but it was a truly sad creature, doomed from its birth. Could you believe it, that it was purposefully made to oppose its Parent, and as soon as it followed the very nature instilled into it the Creator banished it into a world opposite ours? Would you consider such behaviour befitting of a kind God?”
The man shakes his head, dismayed.
“Is it hard to believe it would allow such a terrible thing to happen to you, then?”
“How - how did you know, about... That god?”
Ah. A fair question, all things considered - though it is awfully rude to ignore the one asked first.
The merchant tilts his head in a playfully conspiratorial manner: “I’m a bit of a scholar, though I may not look it,” he reveals: “Old myths, ancient buildings, half-buried artifacts, nearly lost religions - with how much I travel the region I was bound to get curious about its history, no? And snooping around enough, I’ve collected quite a bit of knowledge. That’s why I made my proposal to you.”
He pulls back away from the poor lost fellow: “You didn’t believe me to be a charlatan, I hope!” he exclaims suddenly, visible eye theatrically wide.
The sheepish look he gets back is expected, and tears a chuckle out of him.
“I did not mean to offend,” the man apologizes.
“Be not afraid! You’ve done no harm. I’m used to being considered peculiar among my peers, not sure if you’re familiar.”
“Ah - yes, I would be.”
A slightly more relaxed feeling oozes through the air between them. His pitch continues, flowing smoother out of his lips: “You needn’t worry either way,” he grins kindly, “I wouldn’t make an offer like that without being able to properly back up my claim.”
He explains it all, or at least as much as is necessary to convince him, skirting around finer details that might scare him into thinking Volo utterly insane and send him running back with his tail between his legs to the clan he barely knows but already seems ready to latch onto with the ferocity of a Shinx ambushing a Wurmple and refusing to let its bite go even while the Bug wriggles disgustingly in its mouth. He speaks of his studies, his ambition, of how despite being so unfathomable a God can still be battled and rendered submissive - how that is the only way to get anything out of one; he speaks of how he hates the helplessness of humanity against the terrible things that are simply allowed to befall the world, and how he wants to stop that.
He can see a particular light in the white eyes, a glimmer of interest and hope nudging the lost soul closer to Volo; but the dark clad arms are still held tight to his chest, and there’s uncertainty in the clouds his breaths make.
“Is it truly the only way?” he asks.
Ah - a pacifist. Didn’t strike him as one, used to battling as he is, but he has seen things change enough with the centuries for this to make sense.
“Believe it or not, it’s the least tedious one,” Volo answers. His finger rests in the air, only a few inches away from the pale straight nose, as if chiding his naivety: “Otherwise you’d need his children, the gods of Space and Time; but you’ll be hard pressed to find a member of each clan even simply keen on recognizing the other’s Sinnoh as equal to their own.”
He can see how he understands immediately. It’s common knowledge, after all.
Volo smiles; his grey eye squints a little.
His voice is sweet as honey as he speaks: “Besides, I’ve done most of the work already. All that’s left to do is collecting the plates.”
Before he can be questioned about them he produces a dusty purplish slab seemingly from nowhere. Its mere presence is enough to make the air itself feel different, caught in invisible wisps of ghastly tendrils, tasting on the tongue like dried blood, gaining the unreal scent of an abandoned abode being unsealed for the first time after ages of disuse.
He can feel it though his fingertips, the droning, dormant power held within. He can feel Giratina’s long body wrap around his arm to nibble at the piece of its Parent, seeiking revenge, seeking redemption, seeking affection.
The gaze staring confusedly at it is nonetheless equally mesmerized.
“Pieces of the Original One,” he mutters, “Carved by Its legendary hero, no less. One for each type, scattered across the entirety of Hisui. Once all are gathered, one may reach Its realm and challenge It.”
The man eyes it quietly for a little, before asking: “Where have you found this?”
“In a place of worship long forgotten,” he replies with a smile. “Though I’m certain the old hero hid some in easier places to find, maybe even with his trusted Pokémon, who passed them down through the generations. Those should be much less of a hassle to get, don’t you think?”
The other hums thoughtfully.
He fiddles with his hands, trying to decide. What is there to mull over, Volo wonders? He’s made himself plenty clear: he understands how awful the situation must be for him; he sympathizes with his desire to return where he belongs; he wants to help him achieve just that; he has the knowledge and means to do so.
He’s his best chance.
His only chance.
A breath shivers into dead pale lips.
“Are you certain?” the man insists: “That I would not be a bother to you?”
Volo’s laugh is airy, kind: “You’re a victim of cosmic injustice,” he replies: “I cannot stand to see your suffering. It would be my honor to lend you a hand.”
A bout of silence; then the clear eyes turn bright, the slouched stance straightens slightly, the tone of his words becomes emphatic: “Allow me to repay you by helping, then - since you’ve done so much already. I don’t know how effective I will be, but if I can shorten the time for your plan to come into fruition even by a minute I’ll be gladly to assist you any way I can. As a token of my gratitude, for your kindness.”
Another chuckle breaks the cold air between them into fine shards. Blonde hair sways in the cold: “Who am I to deny such a passionate request?”
They shake hands, their pact sealed.

Cactusverse Timeline: Legends Arceus
So I thought it’d be a good idea to talk about the happenings for cactusverse during the Hisui era. Like much of cactusverse, it’s very gameverse compliant as far as how the plot unravels with a bit of Pokespe and Anipoke influence weaved in (and that’s moreso in regards to worldbuilding rather than narrative beats). There are some parts of cactusverse that I mishmash things together (Hoenn and Alola Events) or significantly alter (Kanto Let’s Go), but again mostly compliant. So starting from the beginning we have the Hisuian era and there’s really two main major differences from the established canon. The first is that our protagonist Akari is actually not isekai’d into Hisui. Akari is actually one of the last members of the Celestica people who pretty much exist on the fringes Hisuian society much like Cogita. After seeing Hisuian Snow, I realized that the MC didn’t really need to be from another timeline to show that humans and Pokemon can work together. Akari actually lived in Jubilife village is somewhat aware of her Celestica heritage from her parents, but with an intense desire to join the survey corps to learn more about Pokemon. The night before she runs into Laventon she does have a dream-vision from Arceus and wakes up with the Arc Phone and a message to seek out all Pokemon. She ends up running into Laventon and catching the three starters with ease which impresses him enough to vouch for her to Cyllene. There’s less mistrust of Akari compared to the game canon because she was from that time (and didn’t fall from the sky) but the mistrust is still there. Akari is a little bit too honest and mentioned the strange visions she got from Arceus and of course showing off this Arc-Phone definitely catches the eye of Kamado and he starts having Beni tail her and her family. Her mom however, was not at all pleased with her going out and joining the Survey Corps. Her mom has had previous nasty run ins with wild Pokemon and has a intense fear and distrust of them and doesn’t want her child to get hurt. Overall things progress through the plot with the Diamond and Pearl clans beef and the worry over the frenzied nobles. One big this is that for Akari, the Old Verse that she finds with Ursaluna is of great importance again because of her heritage. She’s well aware that her heritage is being lost and her mom in particular wants to learn more about their heritage but is unwilling to go out into the Hisuian Wilds again because of the aforementioned fear. As Akari quickly moves up the ranks and helps to quell the Frenzy Nobles she becomes the star of Galaxy Team Kamado grows even more suspicious of her especially as she continue to display such prolific talents and speaks about her visions. Both Irida and Adaman are very fond of Akari however, with Akari and Irida becoming especially close.
Eventually she learns of Ingo, the man who fell from the sky in the Pearl clan but also of three others who were said to have fallen from the sky. People from the Galaxy team, as well as the Diamond and Pearl clans all report of three individuals around the three great lakes of Hisui. Like Ingo they seem to have fallen through time and possess terrifingly proficiency at wielding Pokemon calming the Alpha Nobles that guard “whatever is in those caves”. They speak of a lady of Lake Verity who could wrestle with the likes of Ursaluna but also calm the raging Gyarados that dwells within the lake. She commands a strange Pokemon...large and green monster with a flower on its back
They speak of a man at Lake Acuity who complains a lot about the cold but is as agile as the wind when wielding a sword and holds vasts amount of knowledge. He too wields a strange Pokemon...a large blue turtle with what resembles pirate ship canons protruding from its shell.
They speak of another man who dwells at Lake Valor. Silent but with fierce resolve, commanding Pokemon with just a single look. He wields yet another strange Pokemon...a large red winged draconic creature with fire emitting from it’s tail.
All is going well with Akari until the rift over Mt. Coronet expands and Kamado already thoroughly paranoid, decides to banish Akari and her mom. Her mom is of course absolutely terrified to be out in the wilderness with the Pokemon but Akari is determined to clear their names. Her mom’s attitude does begin to change when she sees the little Shinx try to cheer Akari up. Volo eventually finds the two and takes them to retreat with Cogita and they learn of their mutual shared heritage of being Celestic people. Akari ends up going out do the trials of the lakes, choosing to partner with Irida. She first decides to go to lake Verity where she meets the Lady of Lake. She says her name is Leaf and she tests Akari with the Alpha Hisuian Goodra she wields along with the strange Pokemon she calls Venusaur. Akari wins and receives Mesprit’s Plume. Leaf tells her of a time “where humans and Pokemon stand side by side in friendly combat” and disappears in a flash of light Irida suggests going up north to Lake Acuity next so that’s where they go next. Akari then meets the man of Lake Acuity who says his name is Blue. Once again another battle ensues with Blue commanding the Alpha Hisuian Zoroark and the strange Pokemon he calls Blastoise. Akari wins and receives Uxie’s Claw. Blue speaks of how vast the world is and how it’s many mysteries can be solved when humans and Pokemon put their trust in one another and he too, disappears in a flash of light Finally Akari and Irida go to Lake Valor and they meet the man of Lake Valor. No words are spoken and a battle immediately ensues with the man wielding Overqwil and the strange fire lizard. Akari also wins this battle and receives Azelf’s fang. Akari questions the man and he speaks, telling her name is Red. He speaks the name of the fire lizard, calling it Charizard...and then he too vanishes Akari, Irida eventually head back to the Ancient Retreat and to her surprise her mom after having long convos with Cogita seems to be less weary of Pokemon. Seeing this as progress Akari has Cyllene’s Abra teleport one of the Pokemon she caught from the ranch, the Shiny Ponyta she caught before working to create the Red Chain, catching Dialga and Palkia and closing the rift for good. Kamado, seeing how utterly wrong he was does profusely apologize. Akari and her mom both forgive but Akari and her mom decide to stay at the Ancient Retreat wanting to learn more about the Celestica Heritage and still hurt by Kamado’s actions. Kamado understands that but still reinstates Akari as a member of the Survey Corps, a compromise Akari is willing to accept. Relationships between people and Pokemon rapidly begin to improve after the rift is sealed.
Akari hangs out with Rei, Cyllene and Laventon on a regular basis but begins to spend more time with the Diamond and Pearl Clan especially. She begins to get close to Ingo who is slowly regaining more of his memories. He eventually speaks of the Wielders from the Lake from what he remembers of them, mentioning they were all “Champions” at one point in a far off land. More importantly he begins to remember his old team and his twin Emmet. Akari still gets visions from Arceus and begins to seek out the rest of the Pokemon in Hisui as well as the plates with the help of Volo until he betrays her and tries to have Giratina destroy her and her team. She manages to defeat him and he disappears but not before vowing to complete his goals no matter how many centuries it takes. Eventually Akari manages to catch all of the Pokemon and upon playing the Azure flute meets Arceus. An epic final test of strength ensues and Akari emerges victorious. Arceus is pleased of her strength and was glad of its choice to choose her to help mend the relations between people and Pokemon in Hisui. Akari mentions Ingo to Arceus and asks for a favor since she won: to have him sent back home to his own time. Arceus obliges and Ingo is returned to the modern day.

Dani & Arven
Dani made a friend! They appreciate having a calmer presence around (Nemona brings up so many memories...)
Didn't put too much effort into this, but I had brainrot and I saw other people drawing their OCs in SV so I figured I may as well. I'll add a summary of Dani below the Read More.
---
This is an abridged version, these three posts (Part 1, Part 2, Part 3) flesh it out more.
Dani is an OC with curly brown hair, silver eyes, and tan skin. Their siblings were allowed on pokemon journeys, but they were not, owed to their mother's belief that they'd be wasting their potential because they were the strongest with academics. Throughout the years, they still managed to assemble a full team: Vanilluxe (Vani), Leavanny (Leafy), Araquanid (Dewie), Clodsire (Siri), Reuniclus (Uni), and Lilligant (Lily).
At the age of fourteen, they, alongside Subway Boss Ingo, were sucked into a portal that dragged all nearby objects into it, leaving a mess for Emmet to find. Ingo, as an accidental capture, was unknowingly tossed into Hisui to be taken in by the Pearl Clan. Dani met with Arceus, but their memories of the event, alongside with all of their other memories, were wiped due to the strain of Arceus's rough time travel method. They joined the Survey Corps under the assumption that they were fifteen, pushing themself to their limit under the assumption that even appearing relaxed would get Kamado to kick them out. Their hair started to go white from stress, and continued to get worse. Some of the white streaks started disappearing, but that stopped after Dani was killed and revived during the quelling of Lord Arcanine. They did not mention it to anyone, but threw themself back into work, ignoring how their hair became more white than brown. Eventually, by the time they met Warden Sabi and Lord Braviary, their hair was entirely white. Dying several times while quelling Lord Avalugg made it permanent.
They met Warden Ingo and accidentally blurted out his name before he'd introduced himself. Lady Irida was thrilled and they got to talking, eventually forming a strong bond, and, eventually, coming to the point that Dani called him Papa (as Dad had negative connotations).
By the time they quelled the two gods of Time and Space, Dani had ammassed another full team: Typhlosion (Emmy), Hisuian Goodra (Gooey), Walrein (Wally), Hisuian Sneasel (Ingrid), Johtoian Sneasel (Emmariet "Mary"), and Hisuian Zoroark (Rory). They had not completed Arceus's mission, but Ingo saw their chance to go home, by threatening two deities, and refused to make a child do any more work for them.
(Because of this, they never found out Volo was behind the rift, Dani thinks of him fondly (somewhat, he showed up out of nowhere a lot, kinda like a stalker), and Ingo still respects him)
Upon getting back to Present Day Unova, there was a very rough adjustment period. The family (Emmet, Elesa, Iris, Drayden) came to the conclusion that, while they knew how to help Ingo, they had no idea how to help Dani, and Drayden figured the structure of school might help, and Uva Academy was the best of the best. It helped that Dani already knew the language, and, after some convincing, it was decided.
The following is not in the aforementioned posts and has yet to be expanded on (though I have plans to do so)
Dani goes to Uva Academy, meets Nemona, who reminds her a lot of Irida and Adaman, meets Arven, who seems a bit rude, and helps out Penny because bullies were nothing compared to the Misfortune Sisters.
They love the Academy, try out makeup, and find their own sense of style. The first time they had red lipstick on during a call to their family, Elesa squealed and Ingo looked proud. Cyllene's ribbon wouldn't be abandoned under any circumstances, and they were still kinda copying Ingo's look (hat + gloves), but they finally have a chance to figure themself out, as they'd only ever been able to understand their gender due to isolation, and had never gotten the chance to experiment with gender expression. (Sexuality was also starting to be questioned, it is not their fault that Arven and Nemona are pretty)
Their Paldean team ends up being Quaquaval (Melli), Ceruledge (Cyllene), Gardevoir (Rei), Bellibolt (Volo), Appletun (Lian), and Grafaiai (Misfortune "Missy"). Though they of course never neglect to train their other teams, especially the Hisuian one that's still getting used to modern times.

The trio nodded. "Right... There is one person who should know, though. N, being with Reshiram, will probably just... know." Samantha mentioned. She still was confused by how he could speak to Pokémon and hear their hearts, but even without that ability, the young man had been able to sense when a person was telling the truth ever since he returned to Unova.
"You are? Good. Ingo and Cyllene have both been worried sick! Kamado has been furious with Mayumi-" "Which again Rei, is understandable. The professor vanished while with me. You are trusted more than I am in Jubilife Village, seeing as many think I am a Zoroark in disguise or the cause of everything going on."
"Who... who are you talking to?" Arven asked. "And where's Jubilife Village?"
Professor Lucina Sada was used to giving presentations. She was used to seeing her fellow professors. Sada was even used to being called nuts.
She was not good with surprises. Especially when she was running on 48 hours of coffee and little sleep.
So, as she prepared her notes for her presentation at the conference, walking through the Great Hall of the academy, the last thing she needed was for someone to tap her on the shoulder. So, when someone did, she swatted away their hand, not looking up. Whoever it was didn't seem to get the hint, as they did so again. "Go. away. I'm busy." She growled through gritted teeth. Hopefully this wasn't a poor student she just scared again- Jacq and Salvatore refused to let her live that down.
"You know, it's considered rude to not look up at the person talking to you, mi corazón."
She froze. That voice...
Whipping around, she was face to face with Professor Andres Turo, fellow Pokemon professor, co-creator of the Tera Orb, and... her estranged spouse.
Who was now out cold on the ground following her fist connecting with his face.
Whoops.
Ms. Tyme was NOT happy with her reaction, stating she couldn't have waited until she was in private to punch him?
Hassel, Saguero, Salvatore, and Dendra had to pay Raifort after she won the bet over how long it would take for them to be in the same region before she punched Turo. Miriam is amazed at how fast she moved, while Jacq... he missed the whole thing, having instead chosen to catch up with his brother and cousins over lunch in town.
Kukui, who witnessed the entire thing, was laughing his ass off.
A few hours before the conference began, she went to apologize to Turo. After all, he didn't deserve to be punched (well, he did, just not like that). The moment he opened his door, she ended up punching him again.
Augustine ended up having to sit between the two once the conference began. He'd managed to get them to agree to speak in private later, just for now to please stop punching the man when children are around. Jacq was sat besides Sonia and her assistant Hop- his baby cousin, as it turned out- while Juniper sat with Elm and Birch. Rowan, Oak, and Kukui had found themselves at the other end of the oval conference table, Oak's grandson Blue nearby with Bianca of Unova discussing their friends and their habit of "vanishing without warning anyone". Lucas and Brendan were discussing regional variants and the mysterious 'Hisuian forms' that once called Sinnoh home. She knew Champion Leon of Galar had accompanied his brother here, but he had opted to explore the academy instead, stating he probably wouldn't understand much of what was to be discussed.
Sada figured that as they were all here, she might as well take the chance to explain the strange multiverse she had experienced. Kukui had already been filled in, having dealt with something similar a few years back, so at least he wouldn't think she was crazy... at least regarding this.
"Fellow Professors and researchers, I welcome you to Paldea's esteemed Naranja Academy. As you all know, it is here where Professor Laventon studied and is said to be inspired to create what we now know as the very first Pokedex." The director began, gesturing to a framed photo hanging up on the wall between Rowan and Oak. A man with tan skin, a bowtie, and curly hair smiled back from the image, a plaque beneath it reading Professor Laventon, shortly before his trip to document the Pokemon of the Hisui region. "Since then, advancements in not only what he first documented but beyond in the area of Pokemon research have soared far past what we can expect he ever dreamed of. A computerized Pokedex, studies into baby Pokemon, the rediscovery of the Fairy Type- thought to have been lost since he first documented it- and Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamax, and Terestalization are only scratching the surface of what we have done here. Why, our academy's own Jacq Sycamore created the very first Pokedex app to document and study the Pokemon of Paldea and the regional forms that live here." She paused to take a breath. Alright. Time to drop the bombshell she knew.
"And during this time, we have witnessed strange disturbances in space-time. Laventon documented what he called 'Space-Time Distortions' in Hisui, rifts in the fabric of time and space that dragged Pokemon from different places and eras to the location they formed in. We have seen in Sinnoh and Alola that such things are possible- that multiple universes can exist. What I have discovered recently is-"
That was when the door to the conference room opened and someone tumbled inside. Wearing a labcoat (a rather outdated one at that) and a purple hat, the person seemed to be confused and surprised, hugging a bundle of papers to his chest as he groaned from where he landed by Sada's feet.
Sycamore was already helping the man up, but upon seeing his face he scrambled back, letting go and accidentally dropping him. The room was in a stunned silence before Rowan, the most senior professor (or second most senior professor now) spoke.
"If I am not mistaken... Is that Professor Laventon?"
(Hehehehehehe Sada sees Turo- OHKO.
Sees him again- OHKO
so @askprofessorlaventon and I have been planning this for a bit now. If you follow my other Pokemon ask blog, @silentzoroark, you no doubt saw the beginning of this.
#rp#space time arc#they gonna get to the acadamy to find Leon and Sycamore pinning Sada down#turo out cold again#and Kukui laughing while Juniper just shakes her head

Captain's Cowardice/Captain's Courage
Cyllene lived by the blade before she came to Hisui. She lived by it and thought one day, she would die by it. She didn't anticipate the great changes that would be brought to the world because of the invention of the Poke Ball. She didn't anticipate that she'd have to find purpose instead of striking down the scoundrels of Hoenn until she eventually met her end.
"Don't die." That was an order she knew how to follow.
"Live." "Thrive."
That would prove to be a bit more difficult.
--
Chapter 1- The Power of God and Anime: Rei hears from Zisu that Cyllene was once known as the finest to wield a sword in all of Hoenn. He can't help but feel that's the coolest thing in the world, and he simply HAS to know more.

Hmm I think I need to name some of the other fankids at some point.
Ingo has Erin, Emmet had Inka and Emma, Cyrus and Cyllene, N has Clover...
I think I want to follow that process in Larry having two children (probably a boy and a girl because generic-ish...), but I'm thinking about good names there as nothing has spoken to me. Larry comes from Laurel, so maybe that for the daughter? Hm...
For Volo's daughter, I go between what best applies to him... I think Astrea or Stella have been on my mind recently. I want to keep the use of Latin in the names as a trend. Stars seem to fit him thematically for me (since Cynthia is the moon), so I want her to have a meaning or relation to stars...
Archie's daughter (who has been mentioned once lol), I think, of course, would be named something related to the water. Marina seems like a good option, or maybe Maya? He might boldly just name her, like, Ocean, though. Or a beautiful baby girl named Kyogre.
Maxie's son... Definitely something earth related or a gem/stone? Jokingly, maybe, Mason, like stone mason, but also a Jasper or Geoffrey (fro. Geo-preffix). Hm.... (A beautiful baby boy named Groudon....)

they still haven't finished the playthrough i'm watching so take all this with a grain of salt but i think akari as lynne and then lav and cyllene should take cabanela and jowd but i actually can't decide who should be who. on the one hand cyllene being very grumpy and bossing everyone around and being Definitely Not Worried About Akari At All and then lav being disconcertingly cheerful for a dude literally on death row is fun. but then i also like the idea of ingo coming to bring cyllene back from the dead and she's literally like "i don't give a fuck" until he brings up that akari asked and suddenly she changes her tune.
also the prison painting is ~mysteriously depicted smiling~ and when ingo mentions this akari's like "huh yeah you know it is actually kind of weird how you never smile" and ingo pauses for a second and then admits "yeah i don't remember how"
#the nemesis speaks#pokefic pitch#sorry to people who have finished gt for the inaccuracies. i'm mostly just posting this as a note to self
