Who exactly is fawn and what does he like to do in his spare time (assuming he has that haha)

okay so first of all?? bless you for asking this because it gives me hella room to ramble. second of all, i’m gonna fuckin ramble. i love my boy, my soft, soft boy. 

fawn targon came from a pretty small mining planet just barely on the outer rim. he grew up with his sister, edessa & they were pretty much left to their own devices from the time fawn was born to the time they end up joining the resistance. that didn’t really last for fawn, though… where edessa saw good in the resistance, fawn saw himself dying an early death? & he’s always been about self preservation. he won’t go out of his way to be good or bad, so long as he survives… this lead to a falling out between he & his sister & he deserted, stealing a ship & just… leaving. 

he ends up as a bounty hunter/smuggler but honestly? isn’t very good at his job? it’s not that he’s not skilled. in fact, he’s an incredibly skilled individual ( i actually have an au where he’s charged with being a bodyguard to a dark!rey @itscallingmc… so he can definitely carry his own weight )… but he’s not the only person in the galaxy who’s skilled? he’s honestly a pretty soft person & soft people don’t really do well in his line of work. still, he’s trying his best to make ends work. he has other means of making money, but i have a separate meta that i’ve been working on where i’ll touch on those!

he does have a lot of free time, though. he’s pretty isolated in his life. he has a very strong sense of charisma, but he doesn’t connect to people very easily…? so his existence is incredibly solitary. he spends a lot of his time frequenting bars/cantina’s, winning & losing bets. digging himself into deeper holes than he already is in… he also tends to do a lot of personal training because he’s not a very naturally gifted individual. if he stops training his eye or slacks a bit in his attempts to hone his skills, they suffer a lot more than he would want to admit. 

when it comes down to more personal interests, he does enjoy reading? he didn’t know how to read until he was somewhere in between 14-16 & he still struggles… but it’s very satisfying to him to be able to conquer the words in front of him. he likes to learn new things, even if it is incredibly frustrating at times. he doesn’t take interest in much outside of that, though…? he would probably like to do more if he allowed himself more consistent allies/people to be around but he just… doesn’t. not out of a particular desire to, he just doesn’t connect with people the same way a lot of people do? it just doesn’t click in his mind until you’re persistent enough with him that he does want you around him.

any lasting injuries from combat ? —

some flesh burns on her body from multiple fighters going up in flames .  a couple of scars here and there from missions for the empire and for the republic once she defects. Iden is very very very bad at telling people she’s hurt so a lot of the time, her injuries go unnoticed until she’s in a critical place - so yes she has more scars than most for being dumb.

It wasn’t often that her mom opened up about her and dad’s past. Sometimes Zay thought it was out of protection—for her, because as her mom liked to keep telling her she was still so young and their past was a taint that could never be removed, so it was always on a need to know basis, “when you’re ready”. But other times Zay thought it may also be out of protection for Iden herself—afraid of what her daughter might think of her if she knew the whole truth, afraid to reopen wounds that she never really allowed to heal.

( And maybe she was too young, because she never understood why it wasn’t as simple as them having done the right thing, better late than never, so why wouldn’t her parents forgive themselves, or times like this when Hask was brought up and Zay wished she had the opportunity to ask the man why, and maybe that was what her parents were truly afraid of. )

It was also a little frustrating, since Zay would’ve like to have this conversation in person where she could see her mother’s expressions and hear the nuances of her voice clearly and touch her, hug her, in comfort instead of half-focusing on not dying smashed against the side of an asteroid with static-y headphones and the cold metal of an x-wing and the even colder temperature of space between them.

( And maybe that was the point, that Iden didn’t think she deserved comfort, that there was something kind of welcoming in speaking to the void of space and having your words swallowed by its endless blackness. )

Maneuvering her x-wing between the narrow crevices of an asteroid, Zay frowned as her mother’s words sunk in. ❝ So do you not trust the New Republic? Is that why you and dad won’t join their military, or even the Resistance like Uncle Shriv? ❞

POST 8 FACTS ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER  & TAG EIGHT OTHER CHARACTERS.

Iden cannot abide corruption or misuse/abuse of authority.  She considers a corrupt Imperial to be just as bad as (if not worse than) any rebel.  She believes strongly in the value of Empire, of unity, and trusts that the system, despite its flaws, is the best way to strive toward the ideals she was taught that the Empire represents. Those who misuse that system for their own personal gain do not value the Imperial Dream, and their greed and willingness to inflict harm on those less privileged are detrimental to all. She has worked tirelessly since she was little girl to earn her rank and authority, and she treats it with the utmost respect, and is keenly aware of her responsibilities.  Iden considers herself a representation of all the good the Empire stands for, and seeing others in her position damage that image (and undo her life’s meaning) is totally unacceptable. 

Iden will be awake before you. You think you’re up early? Iden has been up three hours already, had a shower, gone on a run, made the Caf, eaten breakfast, organised her bunkroom, stripped and cleaned her service sidearm, and has studied not one but three mission briefings.

Iden is a serial hobbyist.  Her father drilled into her in the pursuit of excellence, one must expand their horizons. Iden has a thirst for learning and mastery, even into her adulthood. One week, she’s learning how to play the  Xantha. The next, she’s studying up on Vardosian Literature. After that, low-g gymnastics. Puzzle-Cubes. Challel dancing. Holodarts. Art. Singing. Acting. Fencing. She burns through four different martial arts a year, learns a language every-other.

Iden suffers from a  stress-induced autoimmune disorder.  She dosesn’t crack under pressure, and she’s long become accustomed to living with stress. Unfortunately, her physical self sometimes says otherwise. Typically Iden tries to ensure to have an early night whenever possible in order to minimize outbreaks, the symptoms are mild and any pain fleeting, and fortunately there plenty of medications available to human-sufferers of the condition. 

Too lazy to write paragraphs for the rest:

Iden is a lightweight when it comes to liquor, she knows this, and chooses to drink little and infrequently. On the rare occasion when Iden is hella drunk, table-dancing, bad singing, and ill-conceived pranks and lack of verbal filter have all been observed. 

Iden rarely swears, and seldom uses expletive language in anger, only in jest. Garrick would’ve skinned her alive as a child if she’d dared, so she’s sort of stuck in her ways at this point. 

Iden has an unhealthy obsession with swimming. She is continually mocked about how she should’ve been a SCUBA-Trooper. 

Iden can play a mean game of whatever the Holo-Star-Wars equivalent of Tetris is.
