the thing is there's like, a point of oversaturation for everything, and it's why so many things get dropped after a few minutes. and we act like millennials or gen z kids "have short attention spans" but... that's not quite it. it's more like - we did like it. you just ruined it.

capitalism sees product A having moderate success, and then everything has to come out with their "own version" of product A (which is often exactly the same). and they dump extreme amounts of money and environmental waste into each horrible simulacrum they trot out each season.

now it's not just tiktokkers making videos; it's that instagram and even fucking tumblr both think you want live feeds and video-first programming. and it helps them, because videos are easier to sneak native ads into. the books coming out all have to have 78 buzzwords in them for SEO, or otherwise they don't get published. they are making a live-action remake of moana. i haven't googled it, but there's probably another marvel or starwars something coming out, no matter when you're reading this post.

and we are like "hi, this clone of project A completely misses the point of the original. it is soulless and colorless and miserable." and the company nods and says "yes totally. here is a different clone, but special." and we look at clone 2 and we say "nope, this one is still flat and bad, y'all" and they're like "no, totally, we hear you," and then they make another clone but this time it's, like, a joyless prequel. and by the time they've successfully rolled out "clone 89", the market is incredibly oversaturated, and the consumer is blamed because the company isn't turning a profit.

and like - take even something digital like the tumblr "live streaming" function i just mentioned. that has to take up server space and some amount of carbon footprint; just so this brokenass blue hellsite can roll out a feature that literally none of its userbase actually wants. the thing that's the kicker here: even something that doesn't have a physical production plant still impacts the environment.

and it all just feels like it's rolling out of control because like, you watch companies pour hundreds of thousands of dollars into a remake of a remake of something nobody wants anymore and you're like, not able to afford eggs anymore. and you tell the company that really what you want is a good story about survival and they say "okay so you mean a YA white protagonist has some kind of 'spicy' love triangle" and you're like - hey man i think you're misunderstanding the point of storytelling but they've already printed 76 versions of "city of blood and magic" and "queen of diamond rule" and spent literally millions of dollars on the movie "Candy Crush Killer: Coming to Eat You".

it's like being stuck in a room with a clown that keeps telling the same joke over and over but it's worse every time. and that would be fine but he keeps fucking charging you 6.99. and you keep being like "no, i know it made me laugh the first time, but that's because it was different and new" and the clown is just aggressively sitting there saying "well! plenty of people like my jokes! the reason you're bored of this is because maybe there's something wrong with you!"

my personal headcanon is the vees were unremarkable nobodies when they were alive. i just love it as a thematic throughline for them. they love to let the public of hell speculate on them being famed and acclaimed since before death, but the the truth is they were a d-list failed influencer that got by on cheap controversey and scamming, a broke junkie who burned every shaky bridge he ever had, and a worn-out broadcast production assistant with more rejected auditions and tossed out script pitches than he could count. nobody missed them when they were gone, nobody cared who they were until they were dead.

While skimming the JP volumes, I noticed a lot of subtleties in how characters address each other that aren't always carried over in translation.

So I did the only rational thing and made a frequency list of all the different ways Integra, Alucard, and Seras refer to each other throughout the manga.*

random note about king on that animation, i got really lucky with how simple his animation was and how clean my sketches were to begin with that i was able to do very minimal cleanup on what i had sketched (and add back. his horn. it's supposed to take place just after echoes of the past, Oops) and call it done that way instead of having to redraw the entire thing like i had to on his dad

What about their relationship with any non-biological parental figures? || this is an interesting one! in my headcanons waddle dees do not have any biological parents or biological family. so this isn't something she feels she's missing from her forgotten past. some dees certainly do form familial attachments by choice, but if she had a bond like this once upon a time, she doesn't remember. probably the concept of a parental figure would confuse her, so it's not something she's seeking or thinking about! she is more concerned with the fact that she doesn't appear to have had a single friend or acquaintance from her past, either.

With who, and where? || she celebrated it here on tumblr and got many beautiful gift artworks actually!!! in universe, waddle dees celebrate a communal 'birthday', as many tend to be firstwoken on the same day, and a bigger event at the end of the season to celebrate all dees, new and old. she'd probably attend these if one of her friends took her, but it might take a while before someone (likely kirby) twigged that none of them know her actual birthday date. ultimately, they might celebrate the day she was found after her accident.

maybe it’s becoming less of an unpopular opinion, but Remus is not a father figure to Harry. whether he’s a ‘good’ person is debatable, he’s human, but his flaws are often glossed over and he’s definitely not the saint fandom makes him out to be. even if we ignore his abandonment of Harry for twelve years (which doesn’t compare to Sirius not being able to be there because he was in JAIL), he doesn’t tell Harry about the friendship with his father until the end of POA, then promptly disappears from his life. he then shows up in OOTP, then promptly disappears after Sirius’ death. you can argue he was grieving the summer after, but Harry gets nothing until DH. Remus absolutely deserves the verbal smackdown from Harry in DH about abandoning his son. it’s just a shame no one else thought to do the same on behalf of Harry.

and don’t even get me started on all the fics/hcs that fully equate remus & sirius in terms of parenting in all the wolfstar raising harry stuff. like, i’ve mentioned it before and i really don’t care what individuals write about fandom is ur playground and all that but!! My ideas are mostly for the monster alt au, but they also go for my take on them in general.

Basically, the curse transfers only through bites like normal, though I will say that if the wound’s disinfected right away, (like within 30 minutes) it increases the chance of not becoming a werewolf.

The curse takes around a couple weeks to a month to take effect, in the meantime causing fatigue, hunger, irritability/anger outbursts, insomnia, and paranoia. The bite scars actually heal pretty quickly, yet are still visible. After the curse has fully been placed on them, it’s when the next full moon is that the person will turn

When that happens, they first become extremely paranoid/jumpy, and they start to hear very distant screaming. Only werewolves can hear it from that far away, but it’s basically other werewolves changing, screaming and howling. Soon after that is when the person goes through their first transformation

Also, there are three main types of werewolves: bipedal, partially quadrupedal, and fully quadrupedal. Each of these types, when they bite people, turn them into the respective type. Bipedal ones sound and act closer to humans, though are still very much. Feral. Partial quadrupeds act more animalistic while still having human traits, and full quadrupeds act the most like animals.
