i hope you enjoy these gender neutral headcanons! most of these are based off on western music and off my last post. expect iida’s and todoroki’s soon, and if you want something else, send in requests or ideas! anyway, enjoy! - xio

treats you like royalty. incredibly sweet and despite being the famous one, he’s your biggest fan.

although some of his fans were disappointed that he was dating someone, the real ones ship you two hard. there’s a lot of fanart and comments that “complain” about how adorable you are together.

in public, he’s very shy. izuku can’t handle pda very well and he’ll blush heavily if you kiss him. hand holding and a peck on the cheek is the most he does.

however, if he’s in his more confident stage persona at an event or performance, deku has the courage to wink and send looks to you. when he has time to stop, you’ll be pulled backstage or even onstage for multiple a kiss.

lots of soft kisses before rehearsals and concerts for good luck.

plays guitar for you when you’re at home with him. it’s calming and sometimes he’ll sing if his voice isn’t tired from the day’s rehearsals. 

loves cuddles. big on dates where you just cuddle, talk, and sleep. play with his fluffy hair and he’ll melt in your arms.

serenades you for an anniversary and the loving and earnest look on his face made the night perfect.

nonchalantly buys you gifts all the time. is a big fan of giving you stuffed animals.

will give you his sweaters with a huge blush on his face. seeing you in his clothes is the best thing for him.

if you ever wear his deku! merchandise, he’ll be the happiest man alive. trust me on this.

“sweetheart, you look so nice in that hoodie!”

loves casual dates. going to cafes, ramen shops, ice cream parlors, walks downtown, arcades. he tries not to be noticeable by wearing fashion masks and beanies but still gets caught. izuku will always break away from his fans quickly to not disturb your date though!

peppers your face with kisses when you’re with him during live streams.

will not shut up about you if asked during interviews because you’re amazing and he loves you so much. they’ve had to interrupt him for the sake of time and he’ll pout, an adorably upset look on his face.

likes having music playing in the background of the apartment or in the car when you drive out for dates. deku likes to sing along to disney and indie songs but loves hearing what your music taste is.

he can and will bop if it’s a jam, nodding his head to the beat and doing a little shoulder dance. he blushes unbelievably deep if when you catch him even though singing and dancing is what he’s famous.

there have been times where he has to leave the country or continent for his job, but the two of you are each other’s biggest support systems, so time management wasn’t an issue when it came to spending time together. let’s just say, a lot of video calls and texts were made and sent during those times.

all of deku’s fans can see that there’s an unmistakable bond between the two of you.

this man... is fiercely protective over you.

his fans were so pissed when they found out their ground zero had a significant other.

bakugo had to make a official announcement on all of his social media pages to say he was in a relationship and it was on trending for a while. it’s common knowledge that you two are dating.

he doesn’t like disgustingly obvious pda but will kiss (or even make out if he feels so inclined) and hold your hand all he wants. bakugo’s logic is confusing.

shouts you out at concerts casually but in reality, it’s his way of dedicating the concert to you.

“this is for you, idiot. tch.” is the equivalent of “i love you so much for sticking with my stubborn self.”

lots of quickies backstage before public interviews. he will leave lots of hickies on you even though everyone knows you’re his.

passionate kisses after he comes backstage. the adrenaline rushing through his veins because of the set he just did makes the kiss electrifying. when you part, he can’t help but pull you flush against him to whisper something in your ear.

it’ll either be suggestive or loving or a mixture of both because your boyfriend is a wild card when it comes to showing you affection.

calls you ‘babe’ or ‘mine’ when talking to his fans about you.

during live streams, he’ll either be possessive or make fun of you. no in between.

from “that’s mine. damn right.” to “did you hear that? yea, that’s my baby’s laugh. fucking loud as hell.”

asks for feedback on his performance, agreeing aggressively to your compliments and nodding at your critiques.

will toss you over his shoulder to cuddle on his bed. he cuddles but only by his rules. 

unless he’s sleepy. in that case, little spoon him.

he likes it when you trace his tattoos. 

katsuki pulls you into his lap when he’s bored to mess with you. he enjoys seeing your surprised expression.

he will put his ground zero merch in your closet and pretend like it waltzed in there by itself. when you eventually wear it because he’ll get grumpy if you don’t, he smirks and grabs you to close the distance between the two of you.

“babe, i think you look better with it off...” he growls against your skin before taking you places...

bakugo’s very extra so he’ll take you on public dates, telling fans to fuck off so he can spend time with you. sometimes he’ll stop to talk with them but it’s a rarity. he likes physically active and competitive dates, like rock climbing and laser tag. he will chill at home with you if you just want time with him though.

listens to a lot of rap and punk music so expect to hear that around the house even if he has headphones on. head bobs a lot occasionally and occasionally dances if it’s a really good song. if you record him, there’s a 15% chance of survival. also katsuki does not like it when you play a song different from his playlists.

“katsuki... i don’t want to listen to travis scott anymore.”

“get out of my car.”

although your relationship is filled with cusses and middle fingers, there’s also listening to songs together under the starlight on your anniversary and passionate kisses exchanged. ground zero is a handful, but he’s your boyfriend, so have fun...

As soon as I saw him, I jumped from my seat and rushed to his side, lowering my voice. “Oi, Shuota. Are you okay to be here like this?”

“Woah, what a pro.”

“Aizawa-sensei, I’m glad you’re okay!”

I glared at Iida. “Does he fucking look okay to you, you twat?”

“H-How dare you refer to me as such a thing!”

“My well-being is irrelevant,” Aizawa commented dryly as he made his way to the podium at the front of the room, me close behind. “What’s more important is that your fight isn’t over yet.”

“Our fight?”

“Don’t tell me…”

“Not more bad guys!”

“The U.A. sports festival is about to start,” he announced.

I sweatdropped. Man, he really likes to be dramatic with these announcements, don’t he? What is this sports festival anyway?

“Why would you scare us like that?!” The class chorused again.

“Let’s go kick some ass!” Kirishima cheered.

“Is it really such a good idea to hold the sports festival so soon after the villains snuck in?” Punk questioned.

“They could attack once we’re all in the same place!”

“Apparently, the administration thinks this is a good way to show that the threat has been handled and our school is safer than ever,” Aizawa explained. “Plus, they’re beefing up security compared to past years. This event is a huge opportunity for all students at U.A. It’s not something we can cancel because of a few villains.”

“Umm, I’m sorry, but why not? It’s just the sports festival!” Mineta complained.

“Huh?” Izuku turned around in his seat. “Mineta, don’t you know how important this competition is?”

I don’t. For once, I’m hoping he goes on one of his ‘too much information’ muttering sprees because I’m feckin’ lost.

“Of course I do! I just don’t want to get murdered!”

I scoffed. “If you’re scared of getting killed, you’re in the wrong line of work, kid.”

“Why are you so mean to me?!”

“Because I hate you,”

“Ouch…” Sparky muttered.

“Our sports festival is one of the most-watched events in the entire world. In the past, everyone obsessed over the Olympic games, but then quirks started appearing. Now, the Olympics have been drastically reduced in terms of scale and viewership. For anyone that cares about competition, there’s only one tournament that matters – the U.A. sports festival.”

“That’s right,” Momo added. “And top heroes everywhere will be watching! This is where you get scouted!”

“Sure, unless you’re dead.”

God, this kid is annoying as fuck.

“She’s right!” Sparky grinned. “After graduating, a lot of people join pro agencies as a sidekick!”

A fucking sidekick, really? Isn’t that just a glorified coffee grabber? Fuck that shit.

“Yeah, but that’s as far as some people go. They miss their chance to go Indie and stay eternal sidekicks. Actually, that’s probably where you’re headed. You’re kinda dumb.” Punk deadpanned at him.

“Brutal,” I grinned at her. “I like your style.”

She smiled back.

“It’s true that joining a famous hero agency can garner you greater experience and popularity and that’s why the festival matters. If you wanna go pro one day, then this event could open a path for you. One chance a year, three chances a lifetime. No aspiring hero can afford to miss this festival. That means you better not slack off on your training.”

“Yes, sir!”

The bell for lunch finally rang.

“That villain stuff sucks, sure, but I’m pumped for these games!”

“If we put on a good show, we’re basically on the road to being pros!”

“Yeah! This is why I’m even here in the first place!”

“We get so few chances, we have to make the most of this.”

I tuned out the excited chatter of the others, scratching my cheek. I don’t really have any interest in going pro. The only reason I’m here, to begin with, is because of that stupid deal Nezu made with the commissioner. Sports have never really been my thing, either. I’m more of the type to sit on my ass munching on tacos, downing Dr. Pepper, and playing a racing game.

“Everyone, I’m gonna do my best!”

I raised a brow at Ochaco. The hell’s gotten into her? What’s with that aura?

She snapped her head to the side. “I said, I’m gonna do my best!”

I sweatdropped at her intense expression. Girl, calm thyself.

“You okay?” Kirishima asked in concern. “You kinda look like you’re losin’ it…”

I second that.

“And once more for the kids in the back! I say I’m gonna do my best!”

I sighed, stepping out of the classroom and toward the cafeteria. Everyone is getting so fired up for this shit, I really don’t get it. And I still don’t even know what the sports festival is. Like, are we gonna play some American football then a round of soccer? Oh god, what if they make us play golf? I refuse to acknowledge that boring shit as a sport.

I noticed Peppermint a few feet in front of me. Hmm, I guess it couldn’t hurt to ask him. Stuffing my hands into my pockets, I picked up my pace. “Oi, Peppermint.”

He paused, glaring over his shoulder at me. “My name is Shouto Todoroki.”

“That. Right,” I stopped beside him. “Tell me what the sports festival is.”

His eyes scanned my face, looking confused. “You were standing beside Aizawa-sensei when he explained it.”

“Okay, like I get that it’s this super important event to get scouted and everyone watches, whatever. But what is it? Are we gonna have a fucking tennis tournament? Shooting some hoops, maybe a game of HORSE? Just please don’t say golf. Table tennis is a better alternative. Not much movement there. Why the fuck are you laughing at me?”

He covered his mouth, shoulders shaking as his voice filled with amusement. “Sorry, I’m just surprised. You really don’t know?”

“Obviously fucking not if I’m here askin’ you,” I scowled. “Forget it, I’ll go find Izuku.” I turned to walk away, but his fingers gently wrapped around my wrist, stopping me in place.

“No, I… I’ll explain.” He looked away, quickly removing his hand. “The U.A. sports festival is an annual tournament for all students, divided by grade. Different events are chosen in which students must overcome in order to advance. The events are chosen at random and are different every year. Last year, the events were a scavenger hunt, capture the flag, and then a foam sword fighting match.”

“Che. ‘Sports’, my fucking ass.”

“I’m surprised that you don’t know about it. I thought everyone knew… Even if you don’t watch it, it’s hard to avoid because of how popular it is.”

A bead of sweat rolled down my cheek as he regarded me curiously.

“Young Jen!” Toshi stuck his head around the corner, holding up a lunchbox wrapped in a light blue cloth with white bunny heads.

I deadpanned. “Ain’t you too old to be carrying somethin’ like that?”

He waved his free hand, smile not faltering. “Come eat lunch with me~”

“Geez, you’re a glorified kid. Thanks for -” I stopped short when I saw the hostile look on Todoroki’s face as he stared at the ground. Without a word, he turned and continued down the hall. Is he fucking bi-polar or what?

“Young Jen?”

“Yeah, yeah. I’m comin’,” With a sigh, I followed the large man down the hallway toward one of the teacher’s lounges.

“Head on to the lounge. I’m going to go get young Midoriya and I’ll be right there!” He patted my shoulder before taking off down the hall. I entered the lounge, plopping down onto the green sofa. Three cups sat on the table next to the boiling pot. Toshi returned a few minutes later with Izuku, who chose to sit on the stool across from us.

Toshi popped out of his muscle form and sat beside me, pouring hot water into the teapot. “I thought I’d let you both know that my time has been shortened to fifty minutes.”

“Only fifty minutes?” Izuku echoed in disbelief.

“Yeah, that’s about how long I can use my power now. I overdid it too many times. That Nomu was a real tough customer. He took a lot out of me. At this point, I can barely even look like All Might for an hour and a half.”

“I’m so sorry, I should’ve just…”

Toshi started laughing loudly, blood spurting from his mouth. He is so fucking lucky he turned his head away from me. “You don’t need to apologize for anything! Man, we are alike, you and me.” He poured the tea into the three cups, setting one in front of Izuku and one in front of me. “Have some tea,”

“Thanks…”

“I brought the two of you here to talk about the festival. The problem is that you,” he pointed to Izuku. “Can’t fully control One for All yet. And you,” he moved his finger to me. “Can’t fully control Infernal Blaze, either. So then, what do you two plan to do?”

What do I plan to do? When have I ever planned anything ahead before I did it.

Izuku was thoughtful for a moment. “Wait, I did once! When I landed a smash on that brain villain, there was no backlash at all!”

Wasn’t that just because of his absorption, though?

“Oh, that’s right, you did mention that. What was different about that smash?”

“Let’s see… we were facing real villains and I didn’t have much time to think, but maybe that’s part of it since I knew that this wasn’t just more training…” he clenched his fists. “This was the very first time… ever that I used my power against a person.”

“Hmm,” Toshi gripped his chin in thought. “Sounds like you succeeded at sub-consciously putting on the brakes so you wouldn’t kill anyone… Hey, that’s some kind of progress, at least. Tea’s getting cold.”

“Oh right, thank you.” Izuku picked up his cup but didn’t drink from it. Bitch, why pick it up?

Toshi glanced at me and I met his gaze with a blank expression. “I hate hot tea, bro.”

“Huh?!” He jumped up, blood spurting from his mouth. I jumped off the couch, lip curling up in disgust just as blood splattered where I had been sitting. “But… all those times I made you tea… you never said anything about hating it!”

“I was trying to be polite.” I scoffed, plopping onto the floor beside Izuku’s stool.

“Wait, is that why my plant died?!”

“No, I drank the tea after it cooled off.”

“Oh…”

“The plant died because your curry was too fucking spicy.”

“Young Jen!”

“What? I don’t like spicy shit.”

“You should’ve told me,” he sighed, slapping his hand to his forehead as he walked over to the window. He was quiet for a moment before speaking up again. “To be frank, I don’t have much time left as the symbol of peace. Soon, I’ll have to put that title to bed.”

“No way…”

“And some villains out there are starting to notice that. Someone has to step up and keep the people safe.” Izuku stood up at these words. Toshi turned around, holding his hand out. “I gave you my power for one reason – because you will be the hero that takes my place! Do you still feel the same way you did when we met? Do you still want to be a hero?”

“Yes!”

“Excellent! Time has come for you to prove it. This sports festival… it’s something that the pros, no… the entire country will be watching very closely! I want you to think of this sports festival as your debut! You are the fletching symbol of peace! The next All Might! Izuku Midoriya… I want you to introduce yourself to the world and proudly say, ‘I am here!'”

“But, All Might, that’s your catchphrase… besides, what can I do?”

“You know how the sports festival is set up, right?” He headed back to the couch, plopping down beside the blood.

“Well yeah, of course. Students are separated by class year and then the support, business, general studies, and hero courses all fight against each other in a bunch of preliminary trials. Whoever makes it through the initial games face off in the finals. It’s basically a big round-robin tournament.”

Hmm, so it’s basically every man for himself? Great, more effort.

“Right! Meaning you’ll have plenty of opportunities to sell yourself!”

“I guess…”

His lackluster response made Toshi fall back hard against the couch, tipping it over.

“I’m sorry! I mean, what you’re saying is absolutely correct, All Might!”

I stepped around the couch, raising a brow at him. “You dead, bro?”

Izuku started to mutter to himself and we exchanged a look. “But, honestly, it’s kind of hard to get excited about this after everything that just happened at the USJ. Plus I’ve already got the world’s greatest hero teaching me so the festival probably isn’t my only hope of getting scouted by an agency. And besides, I don’t know if I can stand out right now considering I did so horribly on the fitness tests and can’t control One for All very well.”

“Man, nobody is better at spouting word vomit than you, kid!” Toshi spoke up.

I scratched my cheek. “Maybe he’ll get lucky and one of the events will be talking circles around your opponent.”

“I doubt it,”

“Uh, hey, are you okay?” Izuku peered over the fallen couch.

“Some heroes always aim for the top while others happily settle. The difference between those two mindsets has a big impact on how far you go in the real world. I understand how you feel, and I may even be projecting a bit of myself onto you -”

There’s no ‘may’ to it, you definitely are, chief.

“However, I hope you haven’t forgotten the emotions you felt back on the beach during our training.”

“I haven’t!”

“Good,”

The bell rang to signal the end of lunch.

“Fuck, I didn’t get food!” I cried, kicking the wall.

“We should get back to class…” Izuku stood up, glancing at me.

“Go without me,” I muttered.

“A-Are you sure?”

I narrowed my eyes at him and he nodded, rushing out of the room. Toshi held his arm up and I sighed, moving to stand between the couch and the coffee table. I grabbed his hand, putting my foot on the bottom of the couch. In one swift movement, I got the couch upright with Toshi sitting atop it.

“Thank you,”

I grunted.

“Why are you looking at me like that?”

“Look, I ain’t sayin’ you’re wrong or anything, but maybe ease up on the kid a bit? I know he’s your successor and has this all-powerful quirk, but… he’s still just a fifteen-year-old boy, ya know? You just put a shit ton of pressure on that kid, and he’s already a nervous wreck, to begin with.” I shrugged, heading for the door. “Just some food for thought,”

Instead of heading to class, I made a beeline for the deserted cafeteria.

Lunch-Rush held up a hand in greeting when he noticed me approaching. “Shouldn’t you be in class, Winchester-san?”

“Should be, but Toshi needed to speak with me so I missed lunch. I didn’t eat this morning either, so I’m fucking starving. I could eat a feckin’ cow right now.”

He sighed, shaking his head. “Have a seat,” I did as he asked, choosing the table closest to the front. He appeared a few minutes later, holding a tray high enough that I couldn’t see what was on it. “You really should stop skipping breakfast. It’s the most important meal of the day and provides you with essential nutrients a student needs in order to fully take in the lessons that they are taught.”

“Even when I do eat, it’s usually just sugary cereal or leftovers from the night before. Not exactly a nutritious meal.” I commented, leaning back in the chair.

“Honestly, child…” he shook his head.

“I know, I know.” I grinned. “I’m just too awesome for words, Lunc – ow!”

He smacked the back of my head lightly, setting the tray down in front of me. “Hurry up and eat so you can get back to class and learn.”

“Lunch-Rush…” My eyes sparkled, filling with tears. “You made me tacos! I fucking love you, man!”

He chuckled as he headed back into the kitchen to finish cleaning up.

3: How do you think Midoriya’s conflict with Bakugou will end?

ooooof, this is hard. i honestly have no idea what is going to happen (which makes bnha such a good series; i never know what’s going to happen next). i do think bakugou will continue to grow as a character. it’s clear that he has already improved a lot since the beginning of the series. do i think they’ll become best friends? not exactly. do i think bakugou will eventually be able to recognize midoriya as a teammate/friendly rival? yes, i do. i don’t think his core personality (loud, arrogant, rude) will change because that’s just what makes bakugou bakugou, but i do think his character is the perfect vessel for amazing character development, so i hope we get that.

red: What do you like the most about your favorite ship?

HHHHNNNNNNNNN TODODEKU OH WOW WHAT CAN I SAY??? i truly love the fact the izuku is shouto’s hero. he not only forced shouto to face his problems, but he forced shouto to overcome them. a lot of shouto’s character development is thanks to izuku. i’m not saying it was all izuku; shouto deserves credit for his own development, but izuku was the first step. izuku was the one to give him the slight push that he needed and i just love their dynamic. they enhance each other. i genuinely believe they would make a great team together. 

pop: do you think the “Dabi and Shouto are brothers” theory is true?

i haven’t really looked that much into it, but i’ve seen plenty of posts regarding the theory and i honestly wouldn’t be surprised. it would be an interesting plot twist, for sure. 

indie: Opinions on the Traitor Kaminari theory?

punk: Opinions on the Traitor Kirishima theory?

ok this theory i truly cannot see. i mean, i’ve seen the points people have made but when i really look at kirishima’s character, i cannot see him being the traitor. the only way i could see him being the traitor is if he spilled information on accident. i think kirishima genuinely wants to be a hero not only because it’s manly, but because he wants to save people. he wants to help those who need it. we’ve learned a lot about him throughout the series and just i don’t know, i personally can’t imagine him being the one.

1: What part of the anime/manga piqued your interest? Like, what did I see that made me want to watch it? TBH I don't know! I guess it was All Might lol. I just saw that a bunch of people on my dashboard were talking about it and about him and I was like "Okay, I'll watch it." (A few people IRL had reccommended it to me before but I was like 'eh'.)

2: Did you think Midoriya would be a good protagonist in the first few chapters/episodes? Answered before. I think the gist of it was that I thought he was gonna be fine, I just didn't know if the story was gonna be any good.

3: How do you think Midoriya’s conflict with Bakugou will end? Honestly I think it'll turn out fine. I mean, I think that they'll repair their friendship (if you can even call it that). I think Izuku has to stop focusing on Bakugou and Bakugo has to start respecting Izuku. I think it'll happen just fine as they grow into themselves. I would be surprised if they didn't repair their relationship, just based on common shounen tropes.

4: What was your first reaction to Bakugou’s treatment towards Midoriya? First reaction? Hmm, let me see if I can remember. I guess I didn't think about it much because I wasn't sure he was going to be an important character. But when I realized he was... I guess I was just surprised that Izuku put up with it all that time. Of course it could be because of his lack of confidence, but I guess I see it more as him having faith in Kacchan actually being worth maintaining a friendship with, despite the bullying? He's too sweet for his own good ^^;;

5: What do you think of All-Might as a hero? Pfft, well he's great, obviously! Isn't that like... the one thing you're supposed to know when you start the series? "The sky is blue. All Might is great." He's a good guy. He does what he can and he does it well.

6: Do you think that Midoriya deserved to get OFA? Of course. He's clever and determined and passionate and kind. Who else would have been that appropriate?

7: Aside from Midoriya, which character in the series do you think has had the most character development? I'm gonna SKIP this one, since I'm still only a lowly Season 2 graduate. I haven't seen enough change in any of the characters to say.

8: Favorite unpopular character? Honestly? Mineta. I know everyone hates him, but I like him for the same reasons. Yes, he's dumb and sleazy, but I think he acts as a sort of balance, and it's good to have a character that occupies peoples' soft-hatred but isn't a villain. Not every 'good guy' is unproblematic, and I think he has the greatest capacity for growth because he's starting so low on the likeability chart. XD

9: Favorite overall character? I mean, that's an easy tie between Izuku and All Might. Obviously. If I had to pick someone else though... Tsuyu. She's precious. Or Ochaco. She's also precious. Or Iida, who is (surprise) also damn precious.

10: Do you have any OC’s? Describe them! If you don’t, create one on the spot. Create one? Yeesh. Uh. Okay, I'll port some original OCs over. Addisson: chivalrous lesbian hero, dresses like a knight. She conjures 'light-weapony' (or other items; made of light/air/whatever, they function as intended until she lets go of them. Only for melee weapons though, not projectiles unfortunately.)

Pink: What are your main/favorite ships? As surprises nobody: Dekumight, for sure. But side ships? Erasermic, and anything involving Ochaco. (Roughly in order: Ocha/Iida, Ocha/Bakugo, Ocha/anyone else. Oh! Never seen it before, but how about Ochaco/Gunhead?!)

Blue: Do you have any NOTPs? By principal, no. I don't do NOTPs. But if you're asking which ships I just don't really like or don't really get, the winner would have to be TodoDeku. It's very popular? but it just doesn't pique my interest at all.

Yellow: Favorite fanfiction about your OTP? Ooh man, it's only on chapter 2 ATM but @thenightisdarkandfullofbooty’s "Fettered" is really really great so far! Other than that, I don't generally recc explicit fics, but Motte-Gwappo and Jabor pretty well cornered the market with good E-rated oneshots.

Green: Any preferred rarepairs? Ahah yeah, I main a rarepair. And from what I understand, pretty much everything that doesn't include Todoroki or Bakugou is a rarepair, so... uh huh.

Purple: Do you have any works centered around your OTP? HELL YEAH. Anyone who's reading this probably knows. I've got 11 posted Dekumight fics so far, and *counts* 4? WIPs? and... uh... roughly 30+ more ideas? *sweats*

Orange: Fluff or Angst? Good lord I love both, but if you're gonna angst me, PLEASE give me a happy ending.

Red: What do you like the most about your favorite ship? Aaaaaaahhh gosh. Everything. *sighs dreamily* Did you see me the other day, comparing them to freaking Christian worship music? Gawd. They have SUCH a great dynamic, and it's one that has a lot of potential for shifting in various ways too. I guess what I really love most about them is how genuinely devoted to each other they are. Shipped or not, they really love each other! It's so wonderful. =]

Turqoise: What do you hate about your favorite ship? Alright now this is silly question. Why have an OTP if you don't just adore every fiber of their being? In the case of Dekumight, despite what I think a lot of other people would think, I don't even hate the things that make it a controversial pairing. I don't hate that Izuku is underage, and that there's a fairly massive age gap between them, and that there's a 'power imbalance' between them, because that all adds to their dynamic. It makes them very interesting. I don't wish that Izuku was older. I mean, I've written that fic, and I think they're still interesting together, but honestly, the fact that they at least met when Izuku was young is pretty important to their dynamic and-- *goes on forever and ever* ADDENDUM: One thing I do hate is that the majority of the fandom can't (or isn't interested in even trying to) see how goshdarn much sense the ship makes.

Lavender: Does your ship get a lot of hate? If so, why? Hahahaha yes. I don't pay a lot of attention to the fandom at large, but I'm fairly certain it's the most hated ship in the fandom? And it's the only ship I've ever gotten hate over! (Wonderful. Wish I'd get more. It'd be a good outlet for my blabbering haha) I understand /why/ it gets hate though. It's underage. It's frequently read as a father-son relationship. Oh, and it interferes with other popular ships, of course.

Grey: Realistically speaking, will your ship ever become canon? I guess there's a remote chance. Like, top of Mt. Everest remote. haha wouldn't that just fuck with people. Naw, look, I'm fully accepting of the fact that there are at least 5 other drastically-more-likely options, which are, in approximate order of likeliness: 1. Izuku/Ochaco, 2. Izuku/nobody, 3.Izuku/another girl, 4.Izuku/Bakugou, 5.Izuku/another guy. I give Dekumight a .01% chance haha and I think that's a liberal estimate. XD; BUT! I would be more than happy for there to be at least a throwaway line somewhere about Izuku having (or having had) a crush on All Might at some point, and I give that a very generous 5% chance of happening haha.

I know, let's be contrarian and say "DadMic" =P HE'S the one that reminds me of several of my allo-dads.

14: Whose quirk do you think is the most unique? I think I said Tokoyami when I answered this before. I can't think of a better answer right now, so let's just go with that again.

Banana: Which of the pro-heroes’ quirks fascinates you the most? Eh. I dunno. I guess I'm not really 'fascinated' by anyone's abilities. ^^; I just like them as whole characters.

Cherry: Should Endeavor die like right now Nah. He's important, even if we hate him. In fact, that might be part of why he's important. You can't love every 'protagonist'.

Pear: What was your reaction to Todoroki’s backstory? I... didn't have a strong reaction. I'm not a huge fan of Todoroki to begin with. I mean, I felt bad for him, of course, but I guess I wasn't surprised or anything, so it was like, "oh. huh. poor kid." I'm more interested in what happens next.

Kiwi: Should the BNHA girls get more spotlight/recognition? Of course! They're all great.

Pineapple: What do you like the most about BNHA, as a whole? Well, I guess what I like is the characters! That pretty usual, for any story I get involved in. But of course I love superheroes, so there's that! But I do also like the feeling of the whole story, how it's inspirational but also with a looming bleakness, you know?

Watermelon: Dub or Sub? Sub sub sub all the way. Gotta watch it in its original form, whatever that is. I LOVE their original Japanese voices. I accidentally heard a tiny snippet of it in English and I regret it haha.

Coconut: How do you think Hokiroshi is doing, in terms of the plot? Well I'm not caught up so it's a bit hard for me to say, but I think it's going well so far. I'm still interested.

Blueberry: What makes BNHA unique from all the other shonen animes/mangas out there? I'm not sure. I think it's in the small details. I mean, I'm not sure it really IS unique from other anime, any more than they're all unique from each other. TBH I feel like it actually take quite a few elements from other popular series and puts them together in an effective way.

BNHA headcanons - Class 1-A kids’ music tastes

I had some ideas in my head of what kind of music the Kiddos like so here we have it (also may or may not being biased and revealing my own music taste oops)

Midoriya Izuku / Mashirao Ojiro:

They like to listen to rock music, mostly pop and upbeat rock/Indie rock and also calm rock. Mashirao likes more of the upbeat pop rock type and likes Spyair/The Oral Cigarettes/Hello Sleepwalkers, it puts him in a good mood and he likes to put it on when he’s practicing martial arts.

Izuku’s more of an indie/calm rock type of guy, especially Japanese indie music and he likes to listen to UVERworld and Galileo Galilei and he cries whenever he googles lyrics and finds out they have deep and powerful meanings especially if they’re uplifting and inspiring

Iida Tenya:

He likes listening to mellow rock and instrumental music, like guitar songs and mellow pop music

Probably a big fan of Sungha Jung and Kotaro Oshio or other popular guitarists, Tensei taught him how to play the guitar and he’s a natural at it

Uraraka Ochako / Tooru Hagakure / Ashido Mina:

Ochako and Hagakure and Mina are all into pop, mostly K-pop and J-pop although I feel like they’d be into One Direction as well

Ochako is more into the girl K-pop groups like Red Velvet/TWICE/AOA/f(x) while Hagakure is more into the boys, like BTS/Super Junior/SHINee (probably is obsessed with EXO too), and Mina loves both equally, they all try learning the dances and singing along to the music and probably tried doing a photoshoot/K-pop music video once

All of them love Little Glee Monster (who is the artist who made the BNHA S2 ending)

Asui Tsuyu:

Listens to everything, is very opened minded and has a wide variety in her music library. She gets her doses of K-pop and J-pop from Ochako, Hagakure, and Mina and accepts music recommendations from her other classmates. She probably likes Indie rock the most. 

Yaoyorozu Momo:

Likes listening to anime/movie soundtracks and orchestral pieces, especially Ghibli soundtracks. She cries when hearing the Totoro theme song and “One Summer’s Day” from Spirited Away, soundtracks from Kiki’s Delivery Service and Howl’s Moving Castle always cheer her up.

Kyouka Jirou:

METALHEAD. She probably is low key into Visual Kei and J-Rock, probably a big fan of the Gazette/Diaura/Dir En Grey other bands, and likes alternative rock bands like One Ok Rock/My First Story. Owns like 3 electric guitars, a bass, a drumset, and a mic stand and dreams of starting her own all-female band one day which would kick ass. She’s tried to get the other girls to join, is kind of disappointed no one shares her music taste or likes metal as much as she does.

Bakugou Katsuki / Kirishima Eijirou / Todoroki Shouto / Hanta Sero:

All of them like more hardcore stuff, like heavy alternative rock and rock bands. Bakugou and Todoroki were probably into Evanescence at one point (wake them up inside); for Todoroki the music helped him cope and get through hard times, Kirishima, Sero, and Bakugou love One Ok Rock and Spyair because it seriously gets them hyped and pumped up and ready for a fight, probably spar each other with music blasting on speakers to get into the mood. 

Bakugou probably had an emo middle school phase where he listened to Fall Out Boy/My Chemical Romance/Evanescence when he was the supreme Edgelord

Fumikage Tokoyami / Mezou Shouji:

Goth punk boysssss! Probably metalheads, they jam out to heavy death/progressive metal and punk rock, they like Visual Kei and are the type to blast music on full volume with huge ass headphones. They love the aesthetics of it, the dark looks and black clothes

Yuuga Aoyama:

Listens to French music all the time and picks up his French vocabulary in the process which is why he’s always mixing it in with his Japanese like the funny dude he is, possibly into Italian opera and classical music bc that shit is elegant af

Kaminari Denki:

I’d say he shares the same taste as The Bakusquad (with Kirishima/Bakugou/Sero), but the kid probably also has a guilty pleasure and listens to dubstep/electronica/vocaloid, probably a huge fanatic of Hatsune Miku and listens to lots of vocaloid covers by Utaites and dances to them alone in his room, what a loser

He’s also probably into some various K-pop girl groups, probably Red Velvet and Girl’s Generation because, pretty girls amirite

Jirou knows all of this and makes fun of him for it

Koji Koda:

I like to think he doesn’t really listen to music but is the type to put on soundtracks of just nature sound effects like rain/waterfalls/crickets at night or the ocean waves 

Minoru Mineta:

Doesn’t really care for music as much. Probably too busy watching hentai. Goddamit Mineta.

Class 1-A and Music

What are everyone's favorite genres/bands?

Midoriya- Obviously loves movie soundtracks. They take up most of his study playlists and make him feel better when he doesn't feel good enough. If you asked him his second favorite genre, however, he'd e hard pressed. He relates a lot to the emotional lyrics of songs that bands like Set it Off or TOP release, but also admires the knowledge of music theory that comes with writing classical music.

Uraraka- Enjoys energetic soundtrack music, but also loves Imagine Dragons. When she and Kirishima work out together they listen to a lot of Warriors and Believers. When she and Bakugou spar they listen to the most dramatic, drum filled music they can find.

Iida Tenya- Listens to a lot of classical music, but has a secret. When he's alone, or only with his close friends, he knows more rap songs than you would think. He's naturaly indisposed towards speaking quickly, with clear pronounciation. Thus, Tensei began training his little brother in rap songs, which he got from Hizashi Yamada. However, it is Iida, so whenever there's a curse word he replaced it with a much nicer word.

Asui Tsuyu- Is a chillstep person. She also listens to a lot of nature sounds at night. She's very atuned to nature, so listening to rain sounds or waves is extra soothing for her.

Todoroki- Was never that into music, until Jirou of all people introduced him to Twenty One Pilots and Billie Eilish. His favorite song is Ride now.

Bakugou- He does not blast his music. Whenever people hear loud music they assume it's him. It not him. He actually uses music to train his hearing, and thus keeps it at 2 decibels when he doesn't use his earphones. He's gonna have just as good hearing as Shoji- and Jirou, f you. Listens to a lot of angry punk music, but QUIETLY.

Kirishima- As mentioned earlier, he loves Imagine Dragons, and has been trying to convert Uraraka and Bakugou to Classic Rock. However, he proudly know the lyrics to every single Taylor Swift song, courtesy of Hagakure and Mina.

Kaminari- He appreciates a good dubstep, mostly since it goes with his electric aesthetic. However, he and Mina share a love of American Pop and K-Pop which no one in 1-A can rival. He also finds 8-bit music super fun to listen to (and bug Bakugou with).

Sero- Has some of the most diverse music tastes. He appreciates chillstep, classic rock, and indie music a lot, but his parents listened a lot of classical guitar while he was growing up and it stuck with him. He listens to it a lot at night when he's trying to go to sleep. Mina has also force-taught him several K-Pop songs.

Mina- All pop. All the time. Every day. She's one of those fun people who's always jiving to SOMEthing, whether it be music in her headphones, a beat in her head, or her or someone else humming. She and Kaminari often get together and have mini dance parties, and she's been able to teach her fellow Bakusquad members a few of her favorite songs.

Jirou- ALSO doesn't blast her music. If she did, she'd blow her earjacks out! She has a love of Angry Punk Music as well, and recently Shinsou got her into a band called Set It Off- and she's been listening to Wolf in Sheep's Clothing on repeat for the last few days. Jirou actually really enjoys listening to things on repeat. It gives her a chance to really listen to the various instruments, percussion, the way the vocalists express themselves, etc.

Yaomomo- Grew up with classical music constantly in the background, so if you're listening to anything remotely classical, chances are Yaomomo has heard it. However, Jirou convinced her to try listening to Imagine Dragons (her easiest entry band to the more angsty music) and Yaomomo has been so! Invigorated! By 'Warriors' and 'Believer!' She's definitely going to listen to more.

Ojiro- Is right with Sero in classical guitar. He finds instrumental music and culturally traditional music interesting and oftentimes soothing. It's one of the things he tries to share with others, although of them all only Midoriya, Aoyama, and Hagakure have really sat down and listened attentively with him.

Hagakure- Isn't quite as obsessed with K-Pop as Mina, but has one or two favorite groups, namely Red Velvet and Astro. She's very open to most types of music though, and is willing to give anything a listen at least once.

Koda- He doesn't listen to very much real music, but when he does he listens to classical music(something he hadn't thought of until Momo suggested it). However, he lives for Ambience Mixer, and has several self made tracks of forests and river scenes to listen to while he studies or sleeps. He really likes having white noise in the background to focus.

Shoji- Prefers the sound of silence to music, honestly, but a year or two ago someone gave him a pan flute, and he practices it religiously. He finds its origins fascinating, and the sound calming (when played correctly). It's one of his few and favorite personal possessions.

Tokoyami- THIS ONE. HE IS THE ONE WHO BLASTS THE MUSIC. He is obsessed with Screamo and Punk Rock, let's be honest. He listens to every album the second it comes out. He also has carefully curated playlists on Spotify for every emotion a person could feel. 'Eternal Banquets of Darkness?' Check. 'Difficult Homework Rage Focus?' Check. 'Dark Shadow Got Out of Control Recovery?' Double check.

Sato- Listens to podcasts, not music. He has to have something in the background all the time, but prefers to listen to baking podcasts or video game playthroughs. If others are playing music nearby though, he doesn't mind listening. The only music he doesn't like is Screamo, Tokoyami.

Aoyama- He's up for anything- as long as it has those magical percussion chimes that sounds like magic (y'all feel me? I forget what they're called). The people who have the most luck with him are Izuku and Ojiro. He occasionally attempts to dance with Mina and Kaminari, but he usually throws the glitter too hard and gives himself a cramp.

Mineta- Doesn't listen to music as much as stupid reaction videos on YouTube. It's usually about the newest weeaboo pillows or posters, but he enjoys it enough to listen to it more than anything else.

Shinsou- Mostly listens to Angsty music, but at this point can't tell (and doesn't care) whether it comes from actual angst or aesthetic. He enjoys it, whatever. However, he's slowly grown to appreciate indie songs writers, and his favorite (positive) song is Chrysanthemum but Amber Rubarth.

Teacher Bonus Present Mic- The first thing people think of when they see Present Mic is Pop, right? Well that's only partially right. He has entire albums of rap songs memorized, so he has plenty of material to work with when chasing criminals. His personal favorite is Kindest Regards, by Witt Lowry.
