Healthcare is a key sector in every economy all over the world. With the upcoming technology, more knowledge, and upgraded equipment, it has become easier to cure severe diseases. Private healthcare companies provide state-of-the-art service with experienced staff and exceptional healthcare. Indian healthcare companies provide decent medical service at low cost and they even treat patients outside India.

I took this photo as I was getting ready to board my American Airlines flight at DFW to Spokane via Phoenix a week ago as I was headed to a two week #IndianHealthService duty period on the #ColvilleReservation in north-central #Washington. The vast majority of my work travel is on Alaska Airlines and I cannot say enough nice things about them and how they’ve responded to the pandemic from my perspective as a physician. When Alaska joined the #Oneworld alliance on 31 March 2021, it opened up more flexibility and travel options for me on my travels with the IHS. Right now I am MVP Gold with Alaska but since joining Oneworld, that translates to Oneworld Sapphire and Platinum on American Airlines. My perks on American are modest but useful to me as frequent traveler- no bag fees on the first two checked bags, I’m always in boarding group 3, and I can upgrade at no cost to Main Cabin Extra seats. And my flights on American count towards my Alaska miles. Alaska is the lone hold out among the full-service US airlines in awarding miles based on distance flown rather than ticket price. That’s fine by me as I am commuting between home in Dallas/Fort Worth and the Pacific Northwest, so you can imagine the air distances involved. Historically after a number of less than stellar experiences on American, I tried to avoid them. Having flown American twice this year for work, though, I have been pleased. I would not have a hesitation flying American again for work if that were a choice and Alaska didn’t have the schedule I needed. Feels good to get to support two hometown airlines now, American and Southwest. Most of our family vacation trips are on Southwest and my daughter uses Southwest to travel between college on the East Coast and home in Texas. #avgeek #aviation #aircraft #planeporn #KDFW #DFW #DallasFortWorth #Texas #airport #planespotting #instaplane #Boeing #737 #Airbus #A319 #American #Airlines #instagramaviation #splendid_transport #instaaviation #aviationlovers #aviationphotography #flight #AvGeeksAero #AvgeekSchoolofKnowledge #AvGeekNation https://www.instagram.com/p/CXaRqHbr-S3/?utm_medium=tumblr

My favorite part of this #IndianHealthService conference is the posting of the colors... it is a good reminder we are a part of something bigger as members of the #PublicHealthService! (at Embassy Suites by Hilton Phoenix Biltmore)

The vital roles nurses are playing during the Covid-19 outbreak are being realized and appreciated by everyone now. Without nurses and other health workers, we can't win the battle against outbreaks, can't achieve the goal of universal health coverage. #nurseDay #NursesDay2020 #InternationalNursesDay #InternationalNursesDay2020 #indianhealthservice #healthservices #healthdepartment #HappyInternationalNursesDay #SwasthaBharat #HealthForAll #onlinepharmacy #Medicines #OnlineMedicines #WeKnowYourValue #Health #healthcare #healthcareIndia

The Indian Health Service’s LGBTQ and Two-Spirit Health Site is Now Live on the IHS website.
Please check out the new site at: https://www.ihs.gov/lgbt
Background: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning (LGBTQ) and Two-Spirit populations have distinct health disparities including higher rates of sexually transmitted diseases, human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), hepatitis, interpersonal violence, homelessness, poverty, trauma of all types, and suicide. LGBTQ and Two-Spirit people can be high utilizers of health care resources yet often have very disparate health outcomes. Social inequality is often associated with poorer health status, and sexual orientation and gender identity have been associated with multiple health threats. In addition to considering the needs of LGBTQ and Two-Spirit people in programs designed to improve the health of entire communities, there is also a need for culturally competent medical care and prevention services that are specific to this population.
This LGBTQ and Two-Spirit webpage within the Indian Health Service (IHS) website addresses LGBTQ and Two-Spirit issues as a whole, and serves as a source of evidence-based information from other federal government agencies and reputable sources. Frequently, training programs for clinicians and other healthcare providers do not convey current health issues among LGBTQ and Two-Spirit populations, yet this information is essential to improving the access, quality, and outcomes of health services, and to promoting cultural competence among healthcare providers, as well as ensuring sensitivity toward LGBTQ and Two-Spirit individuals. The information on the IHS LGBTQ and Two-Spirit webpage provides accurate information and creates awareness among prevention specialists, behavioral healthcare providers, medical and other allied health professionals, health educators, technical assistance providers, and LGBTQ/Two-Spirit individuals of the needs, experiences, and health status of LGBTQ and Two-Spirit American Indians and Alaska Natives.
Tip: The new IHS LGBTQ and Two-Spirit Health webpage can be located in four ways:
Go to https://www.ihs.gov/lgbt ;

Hover over the “For Providers” tab at the top of any www.IHS.gov webpage, then click on “Health and Wellness Programs” followed by a click on “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender Health”.

One of my biggest addictions are aviation books. My study at home is crammed with them. I love finding a good title in a used bookstore. For a brief period in college, I contemplated changing from biology to history and getting a PhD and writing aviation #history books. Even though I pursued a career in #medicine, I’d always had the dream of one day writing about aviation. In 2019, Tom Harris asked me to join him in starting a publishing imprint that would specialize in high-end, good quality aviation books. He has opened doors for me that I only previously dreamed about, from spending a whole day in the #Boeing Historical Archives looking at primary source material to working on our own aviation book. La Jetée Press is our venture and these are some sample photos of “Fighting to be Heard: How the British Aerospace 146 Started the Regional Jet Revolution” by Brian Wiklem which will be our inaugural publication. There are few people in this world where I can be a full unadulterated aviation geek and it not be freakishly weird- Tom and Brian are two of those sorts of people. Tom and Brian's enthusiasm and passion for aviation is unmatched and has to be experienced to be believed. The pandemic hit just as we were getting started and it’s been a challenge with many historical archives being closed due to #COVID concerns, not to mention balancing family and work in a pandemic environment. We are immensely fortunate that Brian’s labors are available to us. In my letter last year regarding my departure from private practice after 20 years, I talked about joining the #IndianHealthService *AND* having the opportunity to write and publish aviation books. It is a bit surreal to me that something I have long dreamed about doing is actually coming into fruition thanks to efforts of Tom, Brian, and many others and our wives, who have been supportive of not just this endeavor but our all around aviation geekdom. I have planes on display in my kitchen, Tom has planes on display in his bedroom! www.lajeteepress.com #Avgeek #aircraft #planeporn #instagramaviation #aviationlovers #instaaviation #aviationlovers #flight #AvgeekSchoolofKnowledge https://www.instagram.com/p/CXFSlDeM7N4/?utm_medium=tumblr
