OK, as an Indian person and ESPECIALLY as a Scottish person I have to say this.
The current Palestinian Genocide (let's call a spade a spade) and lack of response is an unambiguously, direct result of British Colonialism.
Palestine was given/promised/whatever word you want to use to describe it to Israel by the British Empire to whom it "belonged" as a colony.
Everything that happened thereafter, the Nakba, every invasion, every injustice is a result of that colonial attitude from which Israel was born.
Everywhere the British Empire has been it has sewn chaos and promoted the abuse of human rights as it left. It has happened in India, it happened in Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon and Australia.
The reason for such a lax UK governmental response is because if they acknowledge what's going on is fucked they have to take responsibility for so much more. By leaving these countries originally the UK has "washed their hands of it."
I want to make this extremely clear.
Britain's hands will NEVER be clean
The British Empire has committed the greatest atrocities known to mankind and the British Government does not want to acknowledge that.
Israel has been built from these imperial attitudes, has repeatedly and continually committed war crimes and human rights abuses and governments just... don't care
It's actually insane and we need to recognise the root of these humanitarian calamities and hold our government accountable.
Write to your MPs, your MSPs, your MSs make your voice heard in whatever way that you can! Your voice may seem weak but it is so incredibly powerful if enough people speak up, if enough people make sure that the government never forgets about these things we can make REAL CHANGE. The link below will allow for you to find your government representative be that N.Ireland Assembly Scottish, Welsh or UK Parliament as well as their emails.
https://www.theyworkforyou.com/
Tell them how horrible things are in Gaza, tell them about Israel's repeated and continuous mistreatment of the Palestinian people, tell them how the UK cannot continue to plug our ears and ignore the fallout of our past. Just say something!

Charles Augustus Milverton
Published in 1904, this forms part of the Return collection.
Most chroniclers put this in 1899.
Milverton is seemingly inspired by Charles Augustus Howell, an art dealer and alleged blackmailer, who died in strange circumstances in 1890: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Augustus_Howell
Hampstead is located four miles NW of Charing Cross. Known for attracting a lot of artistic and intellectual people, it has some very expensive houses and a lot of millionaires. Notable residents past and present are numerous indeed, including Sting, Agatha Christie, Emilia Clarke, Muhammed Ali Jinnah, Florence Nightingale.
The area had began to expand with the arrival of what is now known as the North London line of London Overground, which operated services into Broad Street until that station closed in 1986. The now-Northern Line would reach there in 1907 and Hampstead station, beneath a steep hill has the deepest platforms on the Tube, at 192 feet below street level. The station also is one of those designed by Leslie Green, with the distinctive oxblood red tiles he liked to use on the outside.
The "Evil One" is an archaic term for the Devil.
Débutantes seem to have typically been 17 or 18.
"Lady" is a courtesy title for the daughters of dukes, marquesses and earls.
Mr. Pickwick refers to the titular character of Charles Dickens' The Pickwick Papers, originally serialised in 19 parts between 1836 and 1837. It might be good for a mailing group.
With telephones going through human-operated exchanges and telegrams being rather expensive, letters were the most secure way of sending romantic messages. Unless the servants got hold of them. Notably, all the correspondence from Queen Victoria to her Indian teacher Abdul Karim was burnt after her death on the orders of Edward VII.
£7,000 would be around £740,000 at today's prices.
Astrakhan are the pelts of fetal or newborn Karakul sheep. So, yeah...
Revolvers were the normal handguns at the time. Self-loading semi-automatics had just begun to enter the scene in large numbers, with the Mauser C96 (aka Han Solo's blaster) available by 1899.
Hampstead Heath is a 790-acre park with views over the city centre from Parliament Hill that are legally protected. The "bloofer lady" scene from Dracula takes place there and a number of movies, such as Notting Hill have filmed there.
The Heath also was - and still is - a popular location for gay men to engage in "cruising" i.e. anonymous hookups, or just hang out. The locals know which bits to avoid at night and these days the police are tolerant unless someone complains, although fines were issued for lockdown breaches. (Public sex is legal if no-one not involved sees it or is likely to, unless in a public toilet)
In the past, it was a very different matter and a Tory MP had to resign his seat in 1992 after being caught on the Heath with another man.
"Court dress" was the regulated outfits worn when attending the British royal court at the time for those not entitled to a uniform. This included wearing breeches and stockings for men, along with a cocked hat. For women this included a white or cream evening gown with lace. It fell somewhat out of use after the Second World War with the 1953 Coronation being the last occasion it was worn in large numbers, However, it is still worn by judges, King's Counsel (senior lawyers) and some Lord Mayors - the royals will wear it sometimes as well. A 1921 guide can be found here: https://archive.org/details/dressinsigniawor00greauoft/page/n113/mode/2up

Robert Cunninghame-Graham 1st President of National Party of Scotland and the first MP to call himself a socialist died 20th March 1936.
To me Robert Cunninghame-Graham is one of the most interesting of our 19th/20th century politicians.
please just like the post as a historical entity, and just dinnae........
Cunninghame Graham was an author, traveller explorer, politician and adventurer, he was a man of extraordinary talents, tireless energy and considerable courage. His friend and contemporary Joseph Conrad remarked, “When I think of Cunninghame Graham, I feel as though I have lived all my life in a dark hole without seeing or knowing anything.” and I have to agree with him, I use the term Polymath now and then for some subjects I post about, he was that, and more.
Born in London in 1852, educated at Harrow, but always, always, a Scot to his marrow, Cunninghame Graham was a descendant of the Earls of Menteith and the son of a laird whose lands eventually extended from Gartmore in Stirlingshire to Ardoch in Dunbartonshire and Finlaystone in Renfrewshire. It was there that Robert was largely brought up, coming heavily under the influence of his Spanish grandmother.
After schooling, at Harrow, Robert finished his education in Brussels, Belgium, learning, among other things, the art of swordsmanship at which he became an expert.
In a crowded life — Cunninghame Graham was variously a Member of Parliament, a gaucho in South America, a fencing master, a founder member of both the Independent Labour Party and the Scottish National Party, a rancher, horse-trainer, buffalo hunter and Long Rider through North and South America — he wrote prolifically. He called himself, "Don Roberto,". He also enjoyed a journey into Morocco, disguised as an Arab Sheik, he was, as they say, some man!
In 1872 Cunninghame Graham rode on horseback 600 miles up the river Parana to the Iguacu Falls, researching the role of the early Jesuits with the local Indians. His subsequent book, A Vanished Arcadia, was made into a film, The Mission starring Jeremy Irons. He lived for a time in Argentina, where his extended family had a ranch, by way of Uruguay and Paraguay. He became an expert horseman, riding with gauchos, and his admiration for these men was such that he often wore gaucho clothes when back home, he must have been quite a sight!
He wrote that one day on a knoll in the pampas he met a man who greeted him in halting Spanish. Cunninghame Graham suggested he speak in English and referred to the view. The man, said, perhaps hearing a Scots accent for the first time in 20 years, “Aye, but man, it’s naething tae the view off Dumyat.”
Don Roberto married to an equally colourful and talented woman that he met in Paris, Gabrielle de la Balmondiere, who had been described as a Chilean princess. In fact, she was an actress called Caroline Horsfall, who went on to be a published poet. Among her many admirers was WB Yeats.
His contact with poor people everywhere made him a socialist before that term was even coined. On returning from South America, he rapidly took up political campaigning and in 1886, there being no Labour Party, he stood on a radical ticket for the Liberals in North West Lanarkshire, winning comfortably.
On 12th September 1887 he was suspended from parliament for making what was called a "disrespectful reference" to the House of Lords. He was the first MP ever to be suspended from the House of Commons for swearing; the word was damn.
He was suspended from the House of Commons in December 1888 for protesting about the working conditions of chain makers. His response to the Speaker of the House, "I never withdraw", was later used by George Bernard Shaw in Arms and the Man.
He truly was a courageous man – in 1887, he was beaten up badly by police at the original Bloody Sunday in Trafalgar Square and was jailed for six weeks.
His leftward move and meetings with James Keir Hardie led him to co-found the Scottish Labour Party with Keir Hardie, but has been largely airbrushed out of the history of the party, due to his Scottish Nationalist views.
Its manifesto included nationalisation of land and minerals, an eight-hour day, State insurance, the abolition of the House of Lords and all hereditary offices, home rule for Scotland, the abolition of the liquor tariff and the disestablishment of State Churches.
Yet Labour disappointed him, don’t they always, and after World War One – he volunteered a the age of 62 and became a horse-buyer for the Army – his growing nationalism saw him become president of the National Party of Scotland, the forerunner of the SNP. On 23rd June, 1928, in the King’s Park, Stirling, he presided at its inaugural rally.
He was friends with everyone from Buffalo Bill Cody to George Bernard Shaw, had his portrait painted by Sir John Lavery, knew the Glasgow Boys cirlce of artists personally, was close friends with the writers Joseph Conrad and G.K Chesterton, and generally personified the word kenspeckle. A writer of over 30 books himself, there is a seat dedicated to Cunninghame Graham in the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh with the inscription: "R B 'Don Roberto' Cunninghame Graham of Gartmore and Ardoch,
Few Scots actually know of yer man, but In Entre Rios, in the north east of Argentina is the Instituto Magnasco, in Gualeguaychu (pronounced Wally-wy-chew) there is a Cunninghame Graham library and museum! His books are available there to read on the premises, and the Smith’s library is based on that facility.
The Journalist and author, the late Rennie of the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum wrote a booklet about Robert Cunninghame-Graham, called Braw Gallant, he wrote of the man : “He was a pioneer of socialism and Scottish nationalism, fought unemployment and poverty, backed the rights of native peoples against colonialism and short-sighted development, supported free speech, was an active conservationist, got caught up in the Irish question, attacked brutal wars when it was not fashionable to do so and was prepared to die or be imprisoned for his beliefs.
“The words knightly and chivalrous come to mind.”
Robert Cunninghame-Graham retired to Argentina, where he continued to be active, he would still ride daily while in his 80′s, he died on this day in 1936 of pneumonia at the Plaza Hotel in Retiro. Such was his standing he lay in state in the Casa del Teatro and received a countrywide tribute led by the President of the Republic of Argentina, before his body was shipped home to be buried beside his wife, in the ruined Augustinian Priory on the island of Inchmahome, Lake of Menteith, Stirlingshire. There is a memorial to him at at Castlehill, Dumbarton. The monument, which is built of Scottish stone, but also contains stones from Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay.
Between these stones is a medallion of Cunninghame Graham (in his latter years) by the Liverpool born artist Alexander Proudfoot, RSA, who taught sculpture at Glasgow School of Art. Below the medallion is an epitaph which reads:
"Robert Bontine Cunninghame Graham 1852-1936 - Famous Author - Traveller and Horseman - Patriotic Scot and Citizen of the World - As Betokened by the Stones above. Died in Argentina, interred in Inchamahome - He Was a Master of Life - A King Among Men"
On the Argentinian stone, there is a portrait of his favourite horse Pampa, an Argentine mustang which he had rescued from pulling trams in Glasgow and rode for some 20 years and the inscription:
"To Pampa my black Argentine who I rode for twenty years without a fall. May the earth lie light upon him as lightly as he trod upon its face. Vale...or until so long. Don Roberto."
One of Pampa's hooves is buried beneath the monument.
The monument suffered considerable damage through vandalism during the 1970s and was moved in May 1981 to the village of Gartmore (where, until 1900, Gartmore House had been the principal seat of the Cunninghame Graham family), and was unveiled on Cunninghame Graham's birthday (24 May) by the Argentinian Ambassador. It is currently in the care of the National Trust for Scotland. Despite the removal of the monument to Gartmore, the Cunninghame Graham Memorial Park at Castlehill is affectionately known as "the Mony" and the original site of the Memorial marked by a stone.
In 2012 the National Trust for Scotland carried out significant conservation work on the monument which was completed in time for the 160th anniversary of Cunninghame Graham's birth. A new stone was added to commemorate another of Don Roberto's horses, Pingo, and a new information panel was placed nearby, as seen in the photos, the painting is Don Roberto on Pampas, and recently sold at Christies for over 31 thousand pounds.
The pics are my own from a visit to Kelvingrove Art Gallery last month.
Aye ah ken this post has gone on a wee bit more than my usual, I hope you have enjoyed reading it, but please, go have a look at this wee article about the man by Dominic Hilton, on The Critic web page, it is quite amusing. https://thecritic.co.uk/from-gaucho-to-rive-gauche-and.../

Narendra Modi’s electoral success in Gujarat between 2001 and 2014 and on the Indian scene since then stems from his novel blend of populism and Hindu nationalism (Hindutva). Hindutva grew out of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (National Volunteer Organization, RSS), a paramilitary-style nationalist group founded in 1925 to bulk up young Hindus both physically and morally so they could stand up to Muslims, who were depicted as a danger to the majority. Modi joined the RSS as a child and devoted his life to it, pursuing no other careers and even living apart from his wife. He rose through the ranks, eventually becoming the chief minister of Gujarat (his home state) in 2001. The following year, he oversaw an anti-Muslim pogrom that left some 2,000 dead— a strategy of religious polarization that won him the December 2002 regional elections. Similar successes in 2007 and 2012 made Modi the obvious prime ministerial candidate for his Bharatiya Janata Party (Indian People’s Party, BJP) in 2014. But he left behind the RSS tradition of collective decision-making, putting himself front and center and striving to connect directly with “his” people. Rather than relying on the activist network, Modi held rally after rally where he showcased his flair for speechmaking. He also founded his own television channel, worked social media, and employed a revolutionary strategy: using holograms to simultaneously lead one rally in hundreds of places. Modi even distributed masks printed with his likeness to deepen supporters’ identification with him. In short, he saturated the public arena so as to embody the masses—a task made easier by his low-caste origins, on which he has built a complete narrative. (He worked as a teaboy in his father’s shop.) However, the “masses” meant only the Hindu majority, which he was busy stirring up against one target in particular: Muslims. As in the 2014 elections, in 2019 “Moditva”—Modi’s idiosyncratic hybridization of right-wing nationalist ideology, Hindutva and a personality cult—triumphed on the strength of BJP landslides in the north and west. This success allowed him to bend to his will both the RSS and the BJP—whose MPs had ridden to victory on his coattails—fashioning a government of faithfuls and a parliament of yes-men. The other institutions soon succumbed too—even the Supreme Court, once a beacon of independence. In the summer of 2014, Modi advanced a constitutional reform that would have changed the appointment process for judges, until then picked by a collegium of peers. His co-optation, opposed by the entire political class, would have replaced the collegium with a five-member commission. The Supreme Court eventually declared the amendment unconstitutional, but Modi still got his way: Of the nominees submitted by the collegium, his government finalized appointments only for those he liked. The court thus resigned itself to proposing candidates who were apt to please him.

The Evolution of Madhubani Art Over Time
Tumblr media
Madhubani art (also Mithila art) is a style of painting practiced in the Mithila region of India and Nepal. It is named after the Madhubani district of Bihar, India, which is where it originated. Artists create these paintings using a variety of mediums, including their own fingers, or twigs, brushes, nib-pens, and matchstick. The paint is created using natural dyes and pigments. The paintings are characterized by their eye-catching geometrical patterns. There is ritual content for particular occasions, such as birth or marriage, and festivals, such as Holi, Surya Shasti, Kali Puja, Upanayana, and Durga Puja.
Madhubani painting (or Mithila painting) was traditionally created by the women of various communities in the Mithila region of the Indian subcontinent. It originated from Madhubani district of the Mithila region of Bihar. Madhubani is also a major export center of these paintings.
This painting as a form of wall art was practiced widely throughout the region; the more recent development of painting on paper and canvas mainly originated among the villages around Madhubani, and it is these latter developments that led to the term “Madhubani art” being used alongside “Mithila Painting.”
Mithila paintings mostly depict people and their association with nature and scenes and deities from the ancient epics. Natural objects like the sun, the moon, and religious plants like tulsi are also widely painted, along with scenes from the royal court and social events like weddings. In this paintings generally, no space is left empty; the gaps are filled by paintings of flowers, animals, birds, and even geometric designs.[citation needed] Traditionally, painting was one of the skills that was passed down from generation to generation in the families of the Mithila Region, mainly by women .
It is still practiced and kept alive in institutions spread across the Mithila region. Asha Jha of Madhubanipaints in Darbhanga,
Vaidehi in Madhubani, Benipatti in Madhubani district and Gram Vikas Parishad in Ranti are some of the major centres of Madhubani painting which have kept this ancient art form alive.
Contributions:
The Madhubani painting tradition played a key role in the conservation efforts in India in 2012, where there was frequent deforestation in the state of Bihar. Shashthi Nath Jha, who runs the Gram Vikas Parishad, an NGO, started the initiative as an attempt to protect local trees that were being cut down in the name of expanding roads and development. The main reason behind this was that the trees were traditionally adorned with forms of gods and other religious and spiritual images such as those of Radha-Krishna, Rama-Sita, scenes from Ramayana and Mahabharata and other mythologies.
Darbhanga MP Gopal Jee Thakur started the tradition of honouring people with Mithila Painting in Indian Politics.
Awards:
Madhubani painting received official recognition in 1969 when Sita Devi received the State award by Government of Bihar. Mamta Devi from the village Jitwarpur has also got National Award. Jagdamba Devi from Bhajparaul, Madhubani was given Padma Shri in 1975 and the National Award to Sita Devi of Jitwarpur village near Madhubani.
Jagdamba Devi’s foster son Satya Narayan Lal Karn and his wife Moti Karn are also well-regarded Mithila artists, and they won the National Award jointly in 2003. Sita Devi received the Padma Shri in 1981. Sita Devi was also awarded by Bihar Ratna in 1984 and Shilp Guru in 2006.
In 1984 Ganga Devi was awarded by Padma Shri. Mahasundari Devi received the Padma Shri in 2011. Baua Devi, Yamuna Devi, Shanti Devi, Chano Devi, Bindeshwari Devi, Chandrakala Devi, Shashi kala Devi, Leela Devi, Godavari Dutta, Asha Jha and Bharti Dayal were also given the National award.
Chandrabhushan (Rasidpur), Ambika Devi (Rasidpur), Manisha Jha were also given the National award.[citation needed] In 2020, Madhubani artist Dulari Devi won the Padma Shri for contributions to art.
Styles:
Mithila art has five distinctive styles:
Bharni
Katchni
Tantrik
Godna
Kohbar
In the 1960s Bharni, and Tantrik styles were mainly done by Brahman women in India and Nepal. Their themes were mainly religious and they depicted Gods and Goddesses paintings. People of other castes included aspects of their daily life and symbols, the story of Raja Shailesh (guard of the village) and much more, in their paintings. Nowadays Madhubani art has become a globalised art form, so there is no difference in the work on the basis of the caste system. They work in all five styles. Mithila art has received worldwide attention.
The paintings were traditionally done on freshly plastered mud walls and floors of huts, but now they are also done on cloth, handmade paper and canvas.
Madhubani paintings are made from the paste of powdered rice. Madhubani painting has remained confined to a compact geographical area and the skills have been passed on through centuries, the content and the style have largely remained the same. Thus, Madhubani painting has received GI (Geographical Indication) status. Madhubani paintings use two-dimensional imagery, and the colors used are derived from plants. Ochre, Lampblack and Red are used for reddish-brown and black, respectively.

[The origin of the Belle Park totem pole in Kingston, Ontario, at least in part. Queen Elizabeth was visiting for the Kingston tercentenary, and this totem pole was one of a number made at that time by Indigenous inmates at Collin's Bay Penitentiary and Joyceville Institution, two medium security federal prisons in Kingston.
Who the carvers were, the inception of the project, whose idea was it, how it fits into the broader activities of the Native Brotherhood at Joyceville, all of that is still a little hazy to me - but the hard work of local researchers has resulted in a stupendous resource available here online: https://belleparkproject.com/the-place/totem-pole. It answers a lot of my questions and features the words of many of the carvers - a useful corrective to the Whig's slant here.
The Advance - the inmate newspaper at Joyceville - has a notice in June indicating OECA Channel 19 interviewed the totem pole carvers on May 18, for broadcast July 1 & 2 in Toronto. The Advance praises the tercentenary project as a "significant symbol of the role Native People have played in the evolvement of the Canadian people." Haven't read earlier issues yet to get a better feel.
In terms of outside newspaper coverage, there is this dramatic image from April 17 crediting MP Flora MacDonald for getting the wood shipping from BC. Which is all about how great the local Conservative MP is, not the carvers.
Tumblr media
In terms of the broader context, Seth Adema's article “Native Brotherhoods and Decolonization in Ontario's Federal Prisons' is pretty crucial, and available for free online if you search. The totem pole is still on the Belle Park golf course, which has become during the pandemic a tent encampment for Kingston’s growing unhoused population. The city keeps trying to evict them all - presumably to re-open the golf course - while local solidarity activists try and stop it.  Belle Island, where the park is partly located, is a site with great significance to the local First Nations, but was of course a garbage dump at one point because this is Canada...]

The Indians as a Tercentenary project have agreed to carve a totem pole for Kingston. The giant log was shipped by CNR to the institution from British Columbia free of charge, through the efforts of Miss MacDonald and CNR president MacMillan.

Climbing Evaro por David Blazejewski Por Flickr: Just another frame from this spot I like from last summer's westbound chase of Montana Rail Link's westbound 'Day Gas' train. SD70ACes 4406 and 4408 (both built new for the road in Apr. 2014) lead a string of tanks loaded with refined petroleum products up the 2.2% grade of Evaro Hill. They are approaching the Buffalo Speedway crossing at MP 6 on the modern day MRL's 10th Subdivision mainline. This is the original Northern Pacific Railway mainline that opened in 1883 as the second transcontinental railroad. This is the original Northern Pacific Railway mainline that opened in 1883 as the second transcontinental railroad. This route was largely supplanted in 1909 when the NP completed a cut off between the mainline at Paradise and the Coeur d'Alene Branch at St. Regis creating a water level route from DeSmet (just west of Missoula) that exists today as MRL's 4th Subdivision Mainline. In days of old the 10th Sub over Evaro Hill was largely the domain of passenger trains though today MRL sees fit to use it for empty eastbound unit trains. The only exception to the rule are the gas locals which seem to take this route west whenever they can due to their light tonnage which allows them to make the hill with ease while shaving off nearly 30 miles. As for these gas trains, they are strictly MRL affair having come into being in 1995 when a gap was created in the 40 yr old and 531 mile long Yellowstone Pipeline when the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe chose not to renew the pipeline company's lease of 21 miles of right of way across their Flathead Indian Reservation. MP High Court: The person who said 'Pakistan Zindabad' got bail on a unique condition, will have to say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' 21 times every month
MP High Court: This condition has been put by Justice Dinesh Kumar Paliwal. He said that this condition of saluting the flag at Bhopal's Misrod Police Station will continue till the case is over.
Tumblr media
The Madhya Pradesh High Court has granted bail to an accused on a unique condition. This condition is to say 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' 21 times. Actually, this person has been granted bail on the charge of raising anti-India slogans, but a unique condition has also been attached to it. Faizal alias Faizan was released on Tuesday on the condition that he will salute the national flag 21 times twice every month and chant "Bharat Mata Ki Jai". This order has been given as a bail condition so that the accused can awaken the feeling of patriotism and responsibility.
This unique condition of patriotism for bail
has been put by Justice Dinesh Kumar Paliwal. He said that this condition of saluting the flag at Bhopal's Misrod Police Station will continue till the trial is over. The court order states, "He will mark his presence at Misrod Police Station on the first and fourth Tuesday of every month between 10 am and 12 noon and salute the flag 21 times, as well as chant 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai'."
Justice Paliwal believes that this unique bail condition may perhaps save the accused from future legal complications. Along with this, Faizal was also directed to deposit a bond of ₹ 50,000, and warned that the bail order will automatically expire if the conditions are violated.
The slogan that landed Faizan in trouble
The case is related to an incident in which Faizal was accused of raising slogans of "Pakistan Zindabad, Hindustan Murdabad". Following which a case was registered under Section 153A of the Indian Penal Code. The state lawyer, while opposing the bail plea, also said that Faizal is a habitual offender and 14 other cases are also registered against him.
Faizal argued that the incident had been exaggerated, but he also admitted that the man seen raising slogans in the video was Faizal.
While Faizal's lawyer argued that he had been falsely implicated, the court, without commenting on the merits of the case, granted bail considering Faizal's criminal history and previous charges, but attached a condition of patriotism to it.

I had the honor of attending the coronation of the 17th King of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, held at the royal palace. The prestigious event was followed by a magnificent royal dinner.
As an esteemed trailblazer in my field and the first woman of Indian origin elected as a Member of Parliament in the Western world, I was warmly welcomed by the King and Queen. "We are beyond thankful to Their Majesties for such a beautiful invitation and their gracious hospitality. It is heartwarming to see the love and affection shown to me and my mother,"

🚨𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫🚨 𝐴𝑛𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝐻𝑖𝑛𝑑𝑢 𝑡𝑒𝑚𝑝𝑙𝑒 𝑣𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑧𝑒𝑑!! What Happened?
Recently, a disturbing incident took place at the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir in Edmonton. This revered place of worship was defaced with offensive anti-India graffiti, sparking outrage and concern within the community.
The Details
Vandalism: The temple walls were marred with hateful messages targeting prominent figures and the Hindu community.
Targeted Individuals: Among the slanderous remarks, the perpetrators labeled Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Hindu Canadian MP Chandra Arya as 'Hindu terrorists' and 'Anti-Canada'.
Community Impact: This act of vandalism is not an isolated event but part of a worrying trend that threatens the safety and well-being of Hindus in Canada.
Why It Matters
Such incidents not only damage property but also sow fear and division among communities. It's crucial to address and combat these acts of hate to ensure that all citizens, regardless of their faith or origin, feel safe and respected in their own country.
😲𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐲: - MP Chandra Arya was also named due to his vocal criticism of freedom to Khalistani extremists, which he has raised multiple times in the Parliament too! - In the last few years, attacks against Hindu temples have seen a sharp uptick in Greater Toronto, British Columbia, and other areas. - Sikh terrorist Gurupatwant Singh Pannun has openly threatened to bomb planes, attack Indian embassies if they do not close, and ordered Hindu Canadians to leave!! - Yet, he and other extremists, are free in Canada under PM Trudeau’s regime. - This means that Canada has failed to protect its local civic bodies and embassies of other sovereign nations on its territory. ❓𝙷̲𝚘̲𝚠̲ ̲𝚕̲𝚘̲𝚗̲𝚐̲ ̲𝚠̲𝚒̲𝚕̲𝚕̲ ̲𝙿̲𝙼̲ ̲𝙹̲𝚞̲𝚜̲𝚝̲𝚒̲𝚗̲ ̲𝚃̲𝚛̲𝚞̲𝚍̲𝚎̲𝚊̲𝚞̲ ̲𝚊̲𝚕̲𝚕̲𝚘̲𝚠̲ ̲𝚑̲𝚊̲𝚝̲𝚎̲ ̲𝚌̲𝚛̲𝚒̲𝚖̲𝚎̲ ̲𝚏̲𝚘̲𝚛̲ ̲𝚙̲𝚘̲𝚕̲𝚒̲𝚝̲𝚒̲𝚌̲𝚊̲𝚕̲ ̲𝚋̲𝚎̲𝚗̲𝚎̲𝚏̲𝚒̲𝚝̲𝚜̲?
