Happy Marvel Monday! Here’s 3 tips on how to She-Hulk SMASH your week: ⁣ ⁣ 🏋🏻‍♀️ 1. Move ya body! I don’t care if it’s a nice walk with a good podcast, a heavy lifting session with some heavy metal, a dance party to Demi’s new song on repeat, hot yoga with your favorite instructor, channel your inner badass Princess with Geeknasium’s Princess series... Just get in some movement FOR YOU. How do you love to move? Schedule at least 3 times this week to move. ⁣ ⁣ 📗 2. Journal it out. Write out how you want your week to look & feel. Schedule things that can make you feel that way. The best way to stay aligned with your priorities is to continually brain dump what you need to get done. Then you can put the items in order from most to least important. If things aren’t going according to plan, time to write that out too. Venting is totally necessary and it feels so good to get it all out of your head and onto paper. ⁣ ⁣ ✅ 3. Follow through!! I’m a huge fan of listening to your body and following your gut instincts. But you need to be aware of when you are sabotaging yourself or procrastinating. There’s a difference between truly needing break/rest and your brain tricking you into thinking you need rest because of a deep rooted limiting belief you have. For example, “I really needed to sleep in today.” Can be sooo real and much needed... but be aware of it becoming a habitual excuse for not exercising in the mornings. What could you gain from that extra hour of sleep? What could you gain from that extra hour of you time? Don’t negotiate with yourself. “Some lessons can’t be taught. They must be lived to be understood.” ⁣ Elektra ⁣ ⁣ It feels good to hide behind false confidence. Put on my cosplay boots and stomp all over the place like nothing can touch me. But let’s face it, I go through sh*t, too. ⁣ ⁣ Fake it til you make it is a lonely road, my friends. I’ve learned that lesson over and over and over again. And I’m sick of pretending. Right now, I’m facing a dark place in my business and it’s time to charge through. I feel like a failure for not reaching my goals. However, I ran across a message today that flipped my “must brood and stomp around in cosplay boots” mood. ⁣ ⁣ I’m reading Felicia Day’s book #EmbraceYourWeird and in it she talks about how your dream can’t just be the END result. You have to like the WORK that comes along with accomplishing your dream otherwise you feel icky and miserable. ⁣ ⁣ I felt that when I was pursuing acting. I didn’t like the “work” that came with being an actor. The schmoozing, the being judged constantly, the endless auditions and rejection. So I quit! ⁣ ⁣ When I started teaching fitness I truly enjoyed the work. I loved learning and choreographing the workouts. I loved finding new songs to add to the playlist. I loved how it truly changed peoples lives. ⁣ ⁣ And then I started my own business. I have BIG goals and dreams for Geeknasium and I feel SO FAR AWAY from them. But I just have to keep reminding myself that I love the work. I’m not doing this for ME. I’m doing this for the nerd who thinks they can’t thrive in fitness because they think the community will shun them. ⁣ ⁣ I’ve learned this lesson before. I know that I’m doing what I am truly MEANT TO be. ⁣ So if I have to brood and stomp around in my cosplay boots, so be it. But I’m not gonna pretend like it’s all sunshine and rainbows. ⁣ ⁣ I am WORKING REALLY HARD to make my dreams happen. When you thought you’d have a beautiful hand-crafted Bowser for the con but end up stealing your baby Cousin’s costume instead 🤣🤣🤣⁣ ⁣ ⭐️ Doing Cosplay is just like creating Goals: ⁣ ⁣ You get this big grand idea - envision it, work on a plan to execute it, and then the shoot or the con or whatever is only a day away and you PANIC because you haven’t worked on the cosplay AT ALL and now you have to throw it together. 😫⁣ ⁣ Sometimes it works out, sometimes you give up, sometimes your friends are literally supergluing you into your cosplay day of (RE: my Doc Ock cosplay 😂😂) ⁣ ⁣ We treat our goals the same way! We get these big grand ideas in our heads - envision them, sometimes we give ourselves a deadline. And then months pass by and you realize you haven’t worked towards your goal ONCE. Or maybe you did for a bit but you feel like you “fell off the wagon.” ⁣ (I HATE that phrase by the way.) ⁣ ⁣ Here’s the thing. Cosplays like @cstuds above ACTUALLY EXIST. People ARE capable of accomplishing their goals it just takes specific effort rather than PANIC ATTACK. ⁣ ⁣ That’s what I do with Geeknasium. I give you TOOLS so that you feel successful. I give you baby steps to work toward so that you aren’t having PANIC ATTACK when it comes to your goals.
