I'm not shying away from the discourse. I just have a tendency to READ THE ROOM. I understand tensions are high and a lot of JM stans are very sensitive- justifiably so. I don't see the point in engaging in a discourse that's only going to exacerbate the issue.

Just because you have something to say don't mean you have to say it RIGHT NOW. That's counterintuitive and unproductive if you care about the message and it's reception.

As I said, my space is a safe space for you. I recieve praises and rants and I'm not gonna judge. But when your rant is not about releasing pent up emotions or frustrations but mixed up with targeted hate and vitriol towards a member, me or anyone else I will not indulge you. Simply bcos I don't hate no body and I cant get get behind that sorry.

Like I said, I understand the frustrations and the need to compare how different artists are treated differenrly under the company.

But while it's easy to go berserk on the company, it takes much effort and detachment to understand that these people we are fighting for have agency in the equation. And because I've talked about this in the past I hate having to repeat myself over over.

I really wish I cared enough to dig into my archives to reblog those posts. I don't want to- it's not fun🥴

But yea, once again, I'll point out to you that all these JK was sent here and was given that and that only speaks to the faith and chance the company was willing to take on him and the lack of faith they had in JM as an artist. They undermined and underestimated JM and to an extent just didn't know what he needed or how to nurture his talents.

They could see his potential as an exceptional dancer and even incorporated dance into the groups act mostly because of JM. They could see he had the looks and a unique voice but at the time of inception it wasn't what they needed for a hiphop group.

People made fun of a hip-hop group dancing as part of their routine and some of the members didn't want to dance- cough Suga, cough Namjoon- Namjoon💀 bless his heart😩

Then they were made fun of for being pretty boys and for wearing make up as hip-hop artists and all that was challenging to them all because they were all being molded into what they are today.

And believe it or not JMs street dance style together with his overly masculine and toned body was more priced in the hip-hop industry at the time more so than his unique voice which wasn't very suited for rap.

And while we compare JM and JK- understand that within that context of the past, at debut, JM didn't need dance classes🤷🏾

In fact, JM was the ideal body type at the time and the others were pushed to attain his body type and imitate his work ethics. Context really matters.

We can talk about members like suga who hated to dance and felt it was stupid and who desperately needed those dance lessons but couldn't afford it and had to work as a delivery boy to support himself. One would think, he could use that dance class investment no?

At debut JM was taking rap voice training. He didn't need to get flown to the US for this training because guess what? The entire team were flown out to participate in vocal training and rap training- on the show we have agreed not to mention on my blog💀

Cringe.

Sometimes when we talk about our dislike for the company, I feel we hate the company for opposite reasons. For instance, I am not too particular about what each member is given. You know why? Because THEY PAY IT BACK eventually. every dime.

The resources they give to the boys is not for free. hybe is not into charity. And I remember pointing out moments of JM himself talking about this. He would be having a meal or drink with the members and he will point out how this will be taken out of their stipends. Everything is paid back. Even the food at the hotels they stay at. The flight they take, the studio time, their vocal lessons, dancing lessons etc.

It's an artist managerial contract.

I feel we've all been in the Fandom long enough to have these concepts at the back of our heads all the time. Hybe is a business not a charity.

The only reason they may not be investing much in an artist is if they feel that artist does not have much selling power or potential to sell to begin with or if THE ARTIST THEMSELVES DECIDES THEY DON'T WANT TO BE INDEBTED TO THE COMPANY.

Sadly, these companies don't care about how talented you are all they care about is how much money you can make them. You could have the biggest fanbase in the world, if it's not translating into money you are a high risk for them to invest in.

I feel, and this is just an opinion you can disagree with it, that they thought JM was alright vocally speaking- because his voice is the most exploited out of the vocal line💀

When I say exploited I mean, he's always harmonizing, providing adlips, hitting high notes and not given much range and dynamism to experiment with his voice. It's an opinion I could be wrong about this.

I feel it's why the first thing he did on his album Face was to experiment with his voice. And it's why a lot of people felt confused about it because they were used to hearing him do one thing over and over with his voice. Where as for the others you don't place them in the same box and say well Tae is all low registers and it's weird hearing him sing falsettos now. But if JM deviates from his high key almost feminine range then suddenly it's "that doesn't sound like JM"

It can be objectifying you know?

And for hybe they seem to have an idea of what they think will sell and to a degree they might be on to something with that. However that leaves no room for experimentation with their artists. You either conform or fit the mold.

When I say I have a feeling the members have a similar but unique terms of contract with the company people act like its the most absurd thing they've heard but if you can tell just by looking at how much they disproportionately invest in the boys then you can conclude they have different contract terms that allows for these different treatments. Otherwise a contract that mandates JK to take dance lessons abroad would mandate JM or Tae to do same. Because it's one and the same contract.

The company has resources and it decides how to distribute those resources to artists based on their intuition about those artists and also based on the statistical returns on those investments. They are a for profit venture after all.

The company had their money out on some members and not so much on others. Jimin, Tae- dead ass hid Tae for the entire duration of predebut and had Jimin walking around uncertain he was gonna debut with the group. And not just that they had him worrying if he didn't work twice as hard nearly to perfection that they would drop him

Imagine the brain fuck that is and for a minor nonetheless.

For a company that began as a hip hop dance group their primary concern was of course THE RAP LINE. Jimin was pushed to rap even though he hated it and thought rap just wasn't for him. Yet they were pushing him to take rap lessons when he didn't have the passion for it. The results? They left him full of self doubt and confusion and stripped him of his sense of self and his confidence simply because they couldn't nurture his potential.

If I hadn't had a breakdown over him choosing to conform to mainstream male body standards by buffing up, old me would have spiraled hearing him rap on Set me free and yall would have canceled me again 🙃

For me, I'm triggered easily seeing him dabble in things that he'd said he'd been traumatized by and coerced into doing in the past. Rapping, working out, exposing his body, the list goes on. They've been coerced into conforming to certain things and my eyes twitch whenever I see them accepting and conforming to things they weren't comfortable with- like Jm saying he pushed himself to tone his abs thinking they were all going to be showing off their bodies only to find out he was the only one that was going to do that and how uncomfortable he had felt.

These men will share their trauma with us but keep us in the dark when they healing through those traumas and spring surprises on us having us looking crazy😐

Do yall remember him saying, when he was reviewing their sexy photos during Be that now that they were grown concepts like that suited them? These men were coerced into objectifying themselves for our entertainment as minors and we don't talk about that💀

Things like that is why I hate the company. The exploitation, objectification, and frankly I don't think they paying these men WHAT THEY DESERVE to be putting them through all that. Bang PD rich rich when it's the boys killing themselves to make him all that money🥴 I'm looking at you hybe

Yet these I feel, how much resources they allocate to an artist depends entirely in the artist. Now they have agency and bargaining power and enough resources to invest in themselves.

Company investment is like a loan to them which they have to pay back and I think now they are in a position to say no to that especially if those charges are ridiculously high.

Remember, they are paying the company to manage them not the other way round. So if you are going to push for more resources to be assigned to them take a minute to consider if it's a debt the artist wants to take on or something they are willing to pay the company back for.

And remember the company themselves raise funds through venture capitalists or bank loans which they have to pay back eventually so they don't just cut the checks on a whim. They need to justify to stakeholders and account to them what and where they put those monies so they don't end up losing all their money and going into debt.

Hybe nearly went bankrupt before BTS. Suffice to say, they do trend carefully.

Besides, Jimin's potential isn't something the company has always seen or recognized. It's why many of us were drawn to Yoonmin in the first place. He nurtured jimin through some really difficult moments of indecision and identity crisis trying to find his place and purpose within the group.

With hybe I feel they have too many talents than they know what to do with sometimes and most times they are winging it and dare I say hoarding talents because while they don't know what to do with them they fear letting them go because if there's one thing they know for certain is that the market is unpredictable.

When we support Jimin, we show the company he is marketable and profitable as an artist and worthy of investment and shouldn't be underestimated. Forget who else sells. Yes Jungkook would get a BB number one too and so will Taehyung. Inshallah. BUT THEY HAVE NOTHING ON JIMIN.

JIMIN'S SUCCESS DOES NOT TAKE AWAY FROM THE OTHERS NOR DO THE OTHERS TAKE AWAY FROM JIMIN.

LET'S JUST FOCUS ON DOING OUR BEST AND GROWING OUR COMMUNITY.

IF NO ONE WILL GIVE JIMIN A CHANCE WE WILL TAKE A CHANCE ON HIM.

HE IS WORTH IT.

1. Hybe wasn't investing in JM bcos in my opinion they undermined him or couldn't recognize his potential. THEY SHOULD LOOK AT HIM NOW

Has anyone asked for a deep dive of ur works? ur mind?? It’s me! I’m asking—politely—a directors cut? What inspires you? How does the creative process go? Anything! Because of that, I’m inspired by you and want to recognize the things that brings you and ur fics light and joy :D

You’re sweet. 🥹 Hi!! Is there anything specific you wanna know/know about? When it comes to starting a fic, my process is pretty intense, but inspiration itself is random. If anything, inspo is often the easiest part—ideas are like, a dime a dozen!! They’re always zipping around. 🪰 I do think the real (rewarding and terrifying) work comes from grabbing a few you like, and chipping away at them. Maybe I have a skewered perspective—I’m not someone who enjoys writing on the fly, I need to have a crystalline clear plan in front of me because if I lose sight of the ending, then I lose interest in the project. I think I say it (or something similar) in the linked post above but almost every idea I’ve mentioned on this blog has always had at least one thing going for it: I knew the ending almost straight away. The ideas that flop are mostly always ones that I didn’t have that. The ones that stick around like threats do. I’ve been working on my outline for the Gravity Falls fic I keep mentioning, and like—having the knee-jerk ending idea that I had from it’s inception has made every other idea and question I’ve had or asked myself in (the outline) fall neatly into place. Creation is circular!! Maybe it’s just that ancient thing for pattern recognition wired in our brains—the bored grownup version of finding a face in a rock or matching the primary coloured shapes to the right hole. Maybe it’s just the satisfaction of telling a complete story, but whatever force it is it’s very important for sticking out all the worst parts of trying to write something in its entirety.

I find writing hard! And then I feel bad about finding it hard, lmfao. Being able to indulge in something as time consuming and passionate like fanfic is a luxury, honestly, once you’re an adult. 🥺 Still, I guess it doesn’t negate that sometimes stringing a couple of words together is a challenge. 🥹 I’m not very good at handling it when the block happens (my apologies, Anthony Bourdain—I’d clean squid out if it meant it would clear my head 😩) but I guess one of the things we have to learn in our lives is when to rest, even if we think we don’t want to. 🥺

But what else!! What else can I share? I’m trying to think of stuff I always wanna know, when I meet people who make things—but it changes for each person!! Let me ask you a question, Anon—or indeed anyone else who sees this, because I’m always, always curious—but if you write, what do you ultimately want out of it? The hobby in general; the things you post. What do you think it’ll give you? What do you want it to give you, in your dream world??

OKAY well it started from the idea that the silent ones are the freaky ones, the intense ones. And then i had checked his horoscope and saw leo everywhere all over his chart which is like ✨ passion ✨ and stuff.

I truly believe he’s a soft dom, not trying to trick his partner into making a mistake, just completely taking care of them and even forcing them to take care of themselves (think making sure they’re drinking enough water). He gets off not on controlling but making his partner reach new heights.

Now that I know Alice, i can ask this: What about her in the Hunger Games? Could she survive?? Or her district? Maybe she's lucky like Rose and wasn't reaped?

Robert is a member of the Capitol, I have zero doubts. The Fischer are too wealthy to be part of the districts, but Alice... 😔.

I see Alice being from District 4. She's an ocean lover and a very good swimmer.

She would be reaped when she was around 16 due to how many times her name was put in. Her family would live in one of the poorer areas of the district, and her father would probably be a fisherman. The dynamics between the family would be mostly the same, with Alice having the biggest middle child syndrome/treatment and getting ignored and lot in favor of her older sister and younger brother.

She's so sweet, even if she did survive the games I see her being very emotionally devastated by them and extremely guilty over the lives she would have had to take. It would take a certain amount of luck for her to win, but it wouldn't be impossible. She's creative and while not a super skilled physical fighter, I could see her fashioning traps to catch food and other tributes. Mostly her strategy would be to hide, and if the arena involved any significant body of water, stick close to it. She could win by using her swimming ability to drown or outswim other tributes.

When she comes back home, she'll be a mess of depression, self loathing, and likely self harm. Her family would do next to nothing to help her and probably just mooch off her victor's money and privileges. Poor baby 😭.

You're totally right that Robert would be in the Capitol! I could see Maurice even being involved in the games in some way. Maybe as a financier or even a gamemaker? Of course Robert would hate it, but I could see that being how he and Alice meet.

He first encounters he when she's a tribute, and later after she comes back as a mentor they would bump into each other. At some of the functions victors are required to attend and maybe even at her victor's parade, he might even manage to talk to her a bit.

Eventually, either because he misbehaves and his dad wants him gone for a little while, or because Maurice wants to encourage Robert to take a more active role in the games, he forces him to take a job as tribute escort. Robert is assigned to District 4, and he and Alice get to spend more time together and properly start to fall in love.

Alice would of course be wary of him at first, as she is with anyone from the Capitol. But he would win her over with his sweetness and empathy for the tributes.

1. dracula (1992)

watched it very recently and fell in love. the opening scene imprinted itself permanently in my brain. and oh god gary oldman in this <33

2. inception (2010)

haven’t seen it in ages but it was literally my favorite movie as a kid. I watched it over and over and over again, brings good memories!

3. all of us strangers (2023)

seen it this last friday. I know it’s not going to be everyone’s cup of tea but god so I recommend seeing it. extremely beautiful visually, amazing soundtrack. felt every possible emotion while watching, might have cried also 👍��

4. grand budapest hotel (2014)

love wes andersons style, love the characters, nice light watch. also brings lots of nostalgia

5. “slovo” house (2017)

this movie can’t get out of my mind. incredible imagery. I absolutely love the acting in this. VERY heartbreaking at times. sadly, I can’t find any place where I could watch it again :( I saw it in a cinema two years ago, it was some sort of a special event screening ://

oh gosh i dont know enough movieS 😩 I mean, obviously their ACTUAL favorites are Lou Jitsu films... but for Leo we could also say "any movie that he was involved in." I think he also really likes Inception, the Matrix, and La La Land, for some reason. Raph likes Homeward Bound and cries every time they watch it. Donnie has a penchant for science documentaries, and is especially fond of "Goodnight Oppy." Re: video games, Mikey really likes Mario Kart, Raph really likes Animal Crossing, Leo loved Breath of the Wild, and Donnie is a huge fan of Pokemon-- he's the type who will IV train his entire team and have a pro strategy and takes joy in stomping other players into the dirt with his Superior Mons.

I just re-re-re-read Living with Vampires again and for some reason I thought there were more parts I was missing because I thought there were like 8. I don’t know why

But regardless I just wanted to say I’m still very much in love with your Vampire! Seonghwa and I want one. Yeosang is cute too. 10/10 would romance both of them, but if I had to choose it would be the older one tbh because a bias is a bias and I am ✨obsessed✨

I’m curious how you actually picture the visuals of your vampire boys as you write about them, would you show us picture references for a better view? Maybe that might get some ideas flowing! If not, it’s still a fun idea to delve into

I was surprised you haven’t written a werewolf skz fic though, since in the Ateez vampire universe you had them as the wolfgang. Is that something you’re also interested in writing, or do you prefer to stick to writing vampires? No pressure! Just curious and love coming back to read your stuff

It’s nice to hear from you again 💫 anon!! Thank you so much for all the support!! 😭 I’ve worked a little on part 4 but since the last time you checked in I haven’t gotten much done. I do have a Fang Gang group chat chapter from a couple years ago that’s kind of a “bonus” but I haven’t quite figured out how I’m going to post it here, as I can’t find any good fake text apps to make a groupchat. I may just type it out.

I’m actually so excited you asked me this question because I actually DO visualize in my head when I write my vampy boys!! When pt 1 was being written, I was loosely basing them off Black Cat Nero, though I kinda decided to leave it up to the readers which is why there’s not too much detail to how they look besides some of their hair colors. It’s mentioned in part 1 that Hongjoong has dark hair and wears a white Victorian style blouse top with puffy sleeves and a gray and silver vest. These are some of the styles of clothes I imagine (below) the one in the middle specifically makes me think of San because I have a vampire San imagine that I haven’t shared here yet and I clearly pictured him wearing that outfit so that kinda carried over to LW8V lol

This is going be a long response lol so there’s more below about how I visualize each member

Hongjoong has black hair and, like I mentioned earlier, wears Victorian style clothes—they all do, but I can imagine each of them wearing something more “toned down” every so often, (not Seonghwa lol) but I can picture Joong wearing something like he did for Paradigm!

Seonghwa obviously wears ruffly blouses and sometimes embellished jackets and tailcoats. At first I imagined his hair like Wonderland era, but now I more so imagine him with his current long black hair (it’s my favorite 🥴)

Yunho is blonde and I specifically imagine him with his hair styled like it is in the pic below. It fits him well and that’s also what my brain decided to picture so I’ve stuck with it! For clothing, Yunho kinda just wears stuff similar to what’s pictured below

Yeosang is blonde in the series with his hair from Black Cat Nero and/or Inception era. Though while writing part 3 I started to imagine him with his long black hair instead 😩 some other outfits I think Yeo would wear are like the one I added on the left from Halazia era

San has black hair and I picture him in a tight fitting gothic style vest and a white dress shirt underneath, though I can also see him wearing more “modern” things like a black silk top and of course I mentioned he was wearing a lace up shirt in part 3 of LW8V during the Medieval Times segment

Mingi has brown hair. In my mind, it’s usually unstyled and fluffy and I can see him wearing something like from Paradigm; a loose-fitting white shirt (untucked) with a few buttons undone and a loose gothic vest over the top

Wooyoung has long black hair because I’m attached to it and I have a thing for long hair. I imagine him wearing fitting gothic vests and a white dress shirt with small ruffles along the collar or something. When he goes out I can imagine him wearing black trench coats or something like that

Jongho has brown hair and, like the others, wears Victorian style clothing and coats, but he also has some more casual(?) tops like this one from Halazia era which I’m still in love with to this day. I wish the stylists would put him in things like this more often because he looks STUNNING and so pretty

As for your last question, it’s actually crazy you mention that because over the last 3 days or so I’ve been on character.ai messing around with some werewolf AU ideas I had for Chan just seeing if I could flesh out some ideas and I have two REALLY GOOD ones that I’d like to write!! I also have one that’s been sitting in my drafts for a couple years that I haven’t touched because I don’t really know where I’m going with it just yet lol. As for Chan in LW8V you can expect him to make a return with some extra buddies. I have so much planned for them for part 4 😈

I swear this fandom is becoming more and more insufferable every day which is scary not to mention it's at least one more year of wait until season 2. I don't want even to imagine what it's going to be like when it actually airs. I've been in other fandoms, including the GoT one, but this level of toxicity, aggression, tribalism and hypocrisy is unreachable. What is with this show that encourages such behaviour? I really don't understand. I used to be team green (I still am kind of) during the show, especially the second half and after the show ended because I hated the way many black stans were acting towards anyone who didn't share their opinions and the way they talked about green characters (and even the actors) in general. Also, the framing of the show with it's good vs bad guys concept was annoying af so it wasn't hard to choose TG, at least to me. However, now I'm not even sure I care enough. It's so difficult to discuss anything show related normally and nust because all this toxicity soured the whole hotd experience to me now I'm more than anything team anti hotd fandom. That's why your fic is literally the last hotd related thing I'm looking forward to so atm so thank you for actually giving something good to this wretched fandom 😩. Seriously, Aemond and Rhaena should follow my example and just be done with everyone and everything lol. Anyway, I'm (not so😁) patiently waiting for the next update. I don't know anymore if I'll watch season 2, but I'll definitely read swhhw.

I get you. At large, it's not a fun fandom to be in. I remember when there was a petition to stop Matt Smith from being Dr Who on the grounds of him being too ugly, so in a sense it's a little amusing to see how he's inspired this whole "Choke me daddy" rabid fanbase... But other than that, it's really not much fun. People take everything as fighting words. They're attacking real people to defend fictional characters written by a man who hasn't even finished his series as yet after a decade long hiatus...

I don't even get the joy of reading other fics really, because I try to reduce the odds on me 'stealing' someone else's fic idea. Like, I know fair is fair and it's all fanworks, but I'll literally read something, go to sleep, incept myself, and wake up like "you know what would be really cool???" and it's only when I'm reading it all over that I'll realize that I've split off on a whole different unrelated tangent and have to course correct. I'm trying to write better and faster and cut down on how distracted I get. For example, writing while commuting feels productive but it really isn't, not how I do it. I get so distracted... I'll be editing and realize, "No, you can't write that. That's a line from a Hozier song."

HotD doesn't deserve the time or the energy. Like, I look at the word count of swhhw and question all my life decisions. But the rhaemond fandom is so nice and so small, you can't help it. It's like an oasis in a radioactive wasteland.

I'm also kinda doing it for Team Dyslexia and Team Dysgraphia in a sort of "We can do it!" way?

I really want to finish this before S2 starts.

what was your inspiration to create your main oc? (pass the question on)

I’ve got so many, idek which would be my main at this point 😩, but let’s say it’s Yan, and despite how ridiculous her origin was, I think she was mainly inspired by a lot of Sci-Fi I was consuming at the time, Star Trek, Ender’s Game, Gattaca, Ghost in the Shell and Gundam to list a few of them, but her original version was for sure inspired by Satoshi Kon and Junji Ito’s works, as her story was a bit more supernatural at it’s inception, and her powers ( ability to see the dead ) likely derived from. Eventually I ended up putting a lot of what I scrapped from her original version into Aya ( who is heavily inspired by Junji’s Tomie ), and her powers changed a bit to having the ability to see the past, as a means to better coincide with Marco’s ability to see the future.

I just woke up, so I hope this makes sense. 😭
