I'm an insomniac, it's hard for me to get to sleep. So one night I was just laying in bed in the dark when suddenly an even darker darkness blanketed my room until it reached me. I was alarmed and a little scared, but it relaxed me, it didn't harm me at all. I was calm enough mind and body to fall asleep that night.

Happy New Year.

If anyone cares to know, I had to spend time in the Void yesterday. I was feeding into a vicious cycle of getting irritated over petty things, which would cause the Aura to break something electronic, which further elevated the stress. Things were that bad.

They haven't been that bad for... some time.

Mercifully, all hope was not lost. Despite needing a moment to myself, I did not have to spend the day alone with my thoughts. I had my friends, my beloved, my cats to lift my spirits, even for a limited while. I've had less insufferable New Year's Eves, but I've also had lonelier ones.

I even got to stop at the hardware store after I slept off this morning's hangover, and replaced all the bulbs I broke yesterday.

I wish a bonne année to everyone who has shown me kindness and patience over the last moments of this past year. I'm resolving to face what's to come in this new year with a bit more radical acceptance than usual... I hope I can keep consistent for at least a couple months.
