Bad With Phones aus London kündigt sein Debütalbum "CRASH" an, das am 12. Juli digital über Don't Sleep erscheinen wird. Die zehn neuen Songs folgen auf die Debüt-EP "Bang Bang Chicken" (2018), das Mixtape "Marinade" (2021) sowie die EP "Living & Surfing & Remixing" aus 2022.

"CRASH" ist inspiriert von einem verheerenden Autounfall auf Lanzarote, in den Manny alias Bad With Phones und seine Freundin verwickelt waren, und auch der Art und Weise, wie er vor dieser Nahtoterfahrung lebte. “I felt like a stunt man for life. It gave me a new drive and sense of purpose and allowed me to see where I needed to be and what I need to prioritise.”

Das Album ist eine Mischung aus schrägem Pop, Rap, Spoken Word, R&B und Indie-Elektro. Ein erzählerischer Bogen von Höhen, Tiefen und ultimativer Erlösung, was er als seine "klangliche Therapiesitzung" beschreibt. Das Album ist durchtränkt von Glückseligkeit aber auch von tiefen Wunden, vollgepackt mit intimen Songs, knorrigen Liebesliedern und Beruhigungspillen für den Tag nach einer durchzechten Nacht.

Nach "DennisRodman", einer ersten Auskopplung, die Mitte Februar erschien, folgt mit der Ankündigung die neue Single "Don't Talk To Me", ein Track über das Feiern und gelegentlich rücksichtslose Leben, getreu dem Thema des Albums. "I made this one on the go, imagining being in a rush and not having any time to respond to the outside world”, erzählt Manny über den Mix aus Indie-Pop und Elektro-Rap, angetrieben von kratzigen Post-Punk-Gitarren. “It's a big world and there are so many places to visit. Talking can be a distraction so just do it. this one is a wave of sonics that will blast your wig off.”
