Unfinished Hiraishin: (Scars) laid bare

A close call in battle forces Tobirama to use an unfinished hiraishin to dodge a lethal blow. The teleportation works in that it transports him to safety… but only him. “You never used your damn brain!” Tobirama snapped back. “Instead of thinking what would have happened if I let you be ambushed by two more Uchiha you just let your emotions rule your actions like always and shunned me for perceived betrayal while I was whipped for covering for you! Now shut up and let me fight. I need to end this before I’m left with no chakra on top of no weapons.”

“Izuna! Stop attacking!” Madara commanded. If what the other man said was true, and really it only made sense, then he owed him at least this.

“Wha- aniki are you crazy? He’ll kill me! I refuse to die at the hand of a naked man!” Izuna protested.

“Did I say stop defending? No moron, stop attacking. Let the Senju get dressed and you won’t die by nude ninjutsu.”

Sai could've been on team seven at the start.

Sakura was initially being hinted at becoming a Genjutsu user.

Sai's ink style Ninjutsu would've been a good way to guard her, while she's casting Genjutsu or healing someone if she still became a medic, or protecting their clients like Tazuna.

Sai's Kenjutsu to fall back on if enemies get too close to him and a Genjutsu using Sakura since the two would likely stay close together.

Just being around Naruto helping Sai's character development.

Sai may be a bit socially awkward, but he's always trying to be a good friend and show he cares.

His lack of understanding how to interact with others and his unintentional inappropriate and rude comments are a better running gag than tsundere Sakura assaulting Naruto.

Naruto would have someone on the team who's willing to stick up for him, and call the others out when they mistreat him.

Team 8's: Yakumo Kurama

Even though she was only a filler character, Yakumo was a very interesting character.

She was Kurenai's apprentice at the same time she had a team.

Having all four of her students together would've made sense.

A Genjutsu specialist with her Genjutsu specialising student separate from her formal team raises questions about what she teaches the team.

Yakumo would find a way to work around or overcome her disability in the field.

Maybe after seeing Kankuro's use of puppets during the Chunin exams, she could start using puppets in addition to her Genjutsu which would be a formidable combination.

That would give her something solid to fall back on when Genjutsu isn't an option, and keep her opponents at a distance since she is physically unable to do Taijutsu.

Successful or not, Tsunade could attempt to find a solution for her which could provide character development either way.

Yakumo's Ido could've played a similar role for her as Hollow Ichigo does for Ichigo Kurosaki.

Team 10's: Kabuto Yakushi.

A more experienced “Genin,” like Kabuto working with team ten as their squad medic.

After a near death experience for her or one of her teammates that Kabuto saves, Ino could ask him to teach her some medical jutsu.

Kabuto's presence on the team led by the Hokage's son could lead to hints of him sneaking around to gather intel, foreshadowing his ninja info cards, while slowly earning everyone's trust.

Him subtly trying to manipulate his new teammates with that silver tongue, and Shikamaru foiling just about every attempt he can.

Kabuto letting the kids think of him as their big brother.

Growth for Ino-Shika-Cho after the revelation Kabuto's not only a traitor, but Orochimaru's right-hand man.

The closest I can think of this is their fight at the hospital rooftop where Sasuke *demanded* they fight and Naruto complied and he just happened to have a stronger jutsu, but Naruto never went out of his way to humilliate Sasuke, and even though he was insecure of his own skills and acknowledged Sasuke was better than him at some point, he only used this as fuel to work on his own skills not to harm Sasuke. He literally says it, and Sasuke respected him for it as you can see from his precious memories when his body moved on its own to protect Naruto from Haku.

"Sasuke constantly tells Naruto to fuck off and that he doesn't want to be friends with him" As mentioned above Sasuke was the one who wanted to be friends with him later and it's only after Itachi puts him on a coma for a second time and he's groomed by Orochimaru that he decides to cut off his bonds with Naruto being his closest bond, Sasuke believes he needs to cut him off but guess what he never could bring himself to do it. And as also already pointed out, Sasuke comes to acknowledge Naruto SAVED him.

But it's no surprise to me that you have such idiotic analyses and thoughts on Naruto (the character and the series) you didn't read the manga and try to pass off filler as canon.

I kept thinking to myself, who the fuck is Chino? and she's a nobody from a filler novel, not a character written by Kishimoto so she has zero impact on Sasuke's canon characterization, like oh that explains so much.

That's why I think Ino and Chino are the best option. Even when Ino behaved inappropriately like Sakura, Sasuke treated her loyally.

Sasuke and Ino have never held a single conversation in canon and Sasuke has never acknowledged her in any way shape or form, so you're just making stuff up about a ship that doesn't exist beyond a superficial crush a 12 year old had and then moved on to have her own marriage. And Chino is filler character, so she holds no relevance at all.

When I first watched the anime, there were strong hints in season 1 that Kakashi and Anko would be Sasuke's father and mother figures. They both worried about Sasuke and showed concern for him at the beginning. Unfortunately, the whole plot went to shit. We really lost such a good plot where Anko and Kakashi try to protect their child from Orochimaru. What a waste of potential for Anko, I was so hoping she would kick Orochimaru's ass.

You made up a plotline in your head, convinced yourself it was real and then got mad Kishimoto didn't deliver something he never intended to do in the first place. Kakashi is never implied to be Sasuke's father figure at all, the only father figure we see is Iruka for Naruto, the rest of the senseis are just mentors, nothing more. Also Anko and Sasuke never talk, not once in the entire series. She wasn't worried for Sasuke because they hold a special mother-son bond, that's something you made up in your head, she was worried that Orochimaru was back and then Sasuke just happened to be his victim.

The anime "Naruto" showed me what friendship should not be and what love should not be, using the example of the long-suffering Uchiha Sasuke.

Naruto is an example of what friendship should not be. Naruto is a toxic friend, a manipulator, an abuser, a gaslighter, and a privacy violator. He bullies Sasuke, forces his friendship on him, provokes him into a reaction, emotionally vampirizes him, and humiliates him in every way possible because he is jealous that Sasuke is better than him. Sasuke constantly tells Naruto to fuck off and that he doesn't want to be friends with him. Naruto hasn't changed with age.

Sakura is an example of what love should not be. Sakura is a toxic girl, a manipulator, an abuser, a gaslighter and a violator of personal space. She wants to possess Sasuke like object, she wants him to belong only to her, she makes sure that he does not communicate with other girls, she imposes her love, provokes a reaction, emotionally vampirizes, violates personal space by constantly hanging on to him. Sasuke constantly tells Sakura to fuck off and that he does not love her. She did not even know that Sasuke is an orphan. Sakura hasn't changed with age.

In the end, we see the victim under the oppression of toxic people give in and accept Naruto's friendship and Sakura's love. It's disgusting. I haven't yet analyzed Itachi's "true brotherly love" for his younger brother.

An example of a healthy friendship is Sasuke and Suigetsu. They respect each other. Sasuke released Suigetsu from captivity after killing Orochimaru and Suigetsu voluntarily agreed to help Sasuke take revenge on his brother. Suegetsu said that he followed Sasuke because he believed that he would make the world a better place. Despite everything that happened next, they remained good friends.

An example of healthy love is Sasuke and Ino. As a child, Ino was in love with Sasuke and also violated his space and imposed her love, but by the age of 15, she grew up, kept her love for Sasuke and began to respect him. She no longer imposes herself, she does not manipulate him, does not abuse and gaslight. Unlike Sakura, she was able to realize that she was wrong. So I regret that they are not together.

Another example of healthy love is Sasuke and Chino, at the end of "Sasuke Shinden". Chino hates the Uchiha, but she sometimes forgot her hostility around Sasuke and cared for him, she is genuinely surprised when he saved her and this makes her look at Sasuke not as an enemy. When Sasuke finds out the whole truth about her and her clan, he shows sympathy, support and understanding. She forgives his clan, and he does not hold a grudge against her desire for revenge. Chino feels guilty for wanting to kill Sasuke, she genuinely cares for him and worries. Unfortunately, Chino is already in a relationship with Fushin, so she and Sasuke do not have any love relationship. But they really could have been a good couple.

About Sasuke x Karin. I don't hate this ship. Sasuke respects Karin from their first meeting, Karin understands Sasuke and knows the logic of his actions and what goals he pursues. They had a good relationship, there were no conflicts in the beginning, but Karin, like Sakura, imposes her love and it also looks manic. All this is very stressful and in real life such dependence is scary. In addition, Sasuke almost killed Karin and this is not the norm, although he was in an unhealthy mental state at that moment thanks to Konoha, Itachi and Obito, and if he loved her, he would not have done this, so Karin deserves better.

That's why I think Ino and Chino are the best option. Even when Ino behaved inappropriately like Sakura, Sasuke treated her loyally. While he directly told Sakura and Naruto to leave him alone and used violence against them. I also think that Ino's inappropriate behavior is related to her rivalry with Sakura. She didn't act so aggressively before she met Sakura and their fight. That's why there was such a striking difference in behavior when they both turned 15.

I also want to add that Sasuke is not a completely mentally healthy character, because most characters in anime look at him not as a person, but as their personal project [Itachi, Konoha, Obito, Madara], as a piece of meat or an inanimate object [Sakura, Danzo, Kabuto and Orochimaru], as something that is broken and needs to be fixed (not try to be a normal guardian) [Kakashi] and as an object of bullying or a person who supposedly owes you something [Naruto].

Kakashi was smiling widely. In front of him, a pert butt was sticking out of a mud wall. Iruka had protested vehemently when Kakashi had proposed the chuunin with the idea of trapping him in a wall, but he had begged and Iruka had given in. 

Iruka was shifting nervously, his ass wiggling slightly, and Kakashi’s smirk only growing wider. They were going to have so much fun. Iruka could feel the flare of chakra and hear a familiar poof of in all probability a shadow clone being created. He could hear its footsteps drawing closer, showing up around the corner of the damned wall. 

“Yo!” it leered, “I’ll be observing,” it stated matter-of-factly. Iruka shot a stabbing glare at the clone.

Something about this scene;

I know some people have naturally used this scene to argue Naruto is straight because of his reaction. But I think the scene is more nuanced than that. As we can see Sakura reacts with nosebleed to this jutsu, which symbolises arousal.

But Naruto doesn’t have a nosebleed towards the girl-girl jutsu, he’s just excited over Konohamaru’s new ability, as he explains this is a friendly competition between them. So he’s not excited in that way. Why not just make him react like Sakura? Because their reactions aren’t the same.

We do know Naruto finds Sasuke attractive even if he is hesitant to admit that (like he knows it might be inappropriate) and does the reverse harem jutsu later which he practiced more than rasengan. But somehow the Sai/Sasuke jutsu is too much in his opinion. In my opinion the obvious explanation is just that he doesn’t want to see Sasuke like that with someone else. I mean:

It’s not like he doesn’t dislike Suigetsu (and Taka) for no reason other than that they used to hang around Sasuke... and it’s not like he doesn’t react dramatically concerning Sasuke any other time...

I remember seeing even Japanese men who said Naruto sounded like a jealous boyfriend in that 4-tails moment. 😭
