I’m rewatching The Bear (yes the series) and my brain just exploded—like a proper “wait… wait… WAIT” moment. AU, who? Just… bear with me, heeeh. Omg, sorry.

Details: 1500ish words of my creativity just going completely bonkers. This became a pilot! Yaaay

🔪 Xavier – Kitchen Assistant / “The Quiet Backbone”

🩷 “Tell me what you need. I’ll handle the rest.” Said barely above a whisper, while slipping fresh gloves into your hand mid-rush. He didn’t wait for thanks—he was already gone.

Station: Not technically a cook—floats between prep, cleaning, organizing, managing back-of-house chaos. Exceptionally bad at cooking.

Description: Xavier is… not a chef. Everyone learned that quickly, after The Incident With The Eggs. But what he is, is the person who keeps the place from crumbling. He keeps stock rotated, ingredients labeled, knives sharpened, and people from losing their minds.

He doesn’t say much. Always calm, always focused. He moves through the kitchen like part of the architecture—quietly fixing things, cleaning messes before they spread, handing you what you need before you ask. He’ll offer you a rag when you’re bleeding and a chocolate when you’re about to scream.

He’s incredibly bad with flavor—puts sugar in sauces, burns toast—but he’s strangely brilliant at tasks that require repetition and quiet focus: peeling, organizing, cleaning fish (if someone else cooks them). He’ll never be on the line, and he’s fine with that.

He’s a calming presence for you. A quiet safe space. And he always offers you the best bite of whatever he is eating, like a quiet little ritual.

Zayne: “Sharp one.” Respectful. Quiet. Rare praise. Occasionally: “Edge.” For when Zayne’s intensity gets a little too pointed.

Sylus: “Other Boss.” Always with a neutral tone. Not sarcastic—just factual. Sylus hates it. Once: “Red tie.” The one time Sylus broke his all-black look. Xavier logged it like a system update.

Xavier calls you:

“Chef.” Neutral, respectful. Used in front of others, especially during service. Occasionally: “Second set.” His personal nickname for you. Quiet, private. It means you’re his other half in the kitchen—his extra pair of hands, eyes, instinct. It’s not about rank. It’s about sync.

🔪Caleb – Head Chef / “The Machine”

🧡 “I’ve got the kitchen. You just breathe.” Said like an order—but only to you. Said during chaos, when the printer won’t stop and the pans are burning. He didn’t touch you, didn’t need to. His steadiness was enough.

Station: Runs the whole kitchen. Controls the pass. Oversees every dish, every second.

Description: Once a rising star in fine dining, Caleb burned out in the brutal world of elite gastronomy—and rebuilt himself into something sharper, more contained. He doesn’t yell—he commands. Every dish goes through him. Every mistake is his to erase. He’s fire, held tight under pressure, and his perfectionism is legendary. If something’s off, he’ll fix it before you even realize.

He walks the line like it’s a battlefield. Sees everything. Misses nothing. Speaks only when it matters.

Sylus: Doesn’t nickname him. Just clenches his jaw and mutters “Boss.” Always flat, always loaded

Caleb calls you:

“Chef.” His constant. Used when he’s focused, when he’s tense, when he’s trying not to look at you too long. Occasionally: “Hotshot.” Said with a raised brow and the faintest ghost of a smile. Used when you challenge him—and win. Rarely: Your actual name. Only during quiet moments. And only when he means it.

🔪Rafayel – Pastry Chef / “The Art Freak”

💜 “If it doesn’t make someone feel something—rage, lust, joy, hunger—then what’s the point?” Muttered while throwing out an entire tray of flawless soufflés. Said it like a dare. Like a creed.

Station: Pastry and dessert. Shows up when he wants. Plates like a gallery opening.

Description: A dramatic menace with sea salt in his veins and sugar under his nails. Rafayel treats food like an art installation—and you like a canvas he wants to ruin just to repaint. He’s barefoot half the time, covered in edible pigment, purring “puh-lease” while plating sugar sculptures that make grown chefs cry.

He skips shifts to “meditate by the ocean” or “chase inspiration,” but no one dares cut him loose—because his creations sell out every night.

Charismatic, chaotic, and probably in love with you in twelve different metaphysical ways.

Vibe: Effortlessly beautiful. Loud, flirty, deeply unsettling when he wants to be.

Rafayel calls

Caleb: “Maestro.” Dripping with sarcasm. Occasionally: “Chef Supreme,” “Dictator de Cuisine,” or when he’s feeling truly bold: “Daddy Discipline.”

Zayne: “Icebox.” Consistent. Flamboyantly sung whenever Zayne says something dry. Sometimes: “Slicer.” Used when Zayne’s knife skills make him feel dramatic.

Xavier: “White Rabbit.” Because Xavier vanishes and reappears like a magic trick. Occasionally: “Whisperer.” Usually while narrating Xavier’s movements like he’s on a nature documentary.

Sylus: “Daddy Deep Pockets.” Bold. Loud. Said within earshot on purpose. On quiet nights? “Mystery Merlot.”

Rafayel calls you:

“Flame.” Always. Teasing, flirty, reverent in his own chaotic way. Occasionally: “Little flame” – used when you’re either adorable or frustrating. Never uses your name unless things get very serious.

🔪Zayne – Sous Chef / “The Scalpel”

🩵 “If you flinch at the truth, you shouldn’t be in the kitchen.” Said without raising his voice. Cut sharper than any knife in the drawer.

Station: Second-in-command. Oversees prep, quality control, plating precision.

Description: Everything about Zayne is sharp—his eyes, his knives, his expectations. He doesn’t tolerate sloppiness. Doesn’t indulge drama. But he will step in if you’re falling apart… and do it so quietly, it feels like dignity instead of rescue.

The staff respects him. Fears him a little. But you? He lets his guard down around you. Barely. Sometimes. A sideways smirk. A hand over yours when you’re shaking. A quiet “You’re better than this.”

His loyalty is absolute. So is his judgment.

Vibe: Clean lines, cold eyes, warm core. Gets shit done. Holds secrets close.

Zayne calls

Caleb: “Pressure.” Said only when Caleb’s pushing too hard or when something about him makes the kitchen feel just a little too tight. Not mocking. Just true.

Xavier: “Inventory.” Half joke, half truth. Stuck after Xavier labeled everything one night. Sometimes: “Quiet.” With a rare note of appreciation.

Sylus: “Owner.” Always formal. Laced with cool disdain.

Zayne calls you:

“Chef.” Direct, even-toned, deeply respectful. In private: “Ace.” A personal nickname. Quiet praise. Never explained.

Station: Doesn’t touch the line—but he owns the building, funds the staff, and secretly curates the entire wine list under everyone’s nose.

Description: Sylus is the kind of boss who never needs to raise his voice. He walks into a room and the temperature drops—not because he’s cruel, but because he never enters without a reason. He doesn’t cook anymore, but when he does pick up a knife, the precision is terrifying. Not because he wants to impress anyone. Because he can.

While the kitchen burns itself out nightly, Sylus hovers just outside the chaos—glass of wine in hand, watching with faint amusement. Everyone assumes the wine pairings are the work of a nameless sommelier. No one knows the handwritten notebook of perfect, sometimes suspiciously intimate flavor pairings is his.

He doesn’t tell them. Why would he? Let them struggle. He’s always five steps ahead.

He calls you “chef” like it’s a compliment and a threat. And when he does offer advice, it’s always helpful… and always laced with something you’ll be turning over in your head long after the shift ends.

Vibe: High-functioning menace in a three-piece suit. Refined, unreadable, devastatingly well-paired. Owns the place, owns the game, and might just be playing you.

Caleb: “Chef.” Always calm. Always strategic. Once: “Starboy.” No one’s recovered.

Rafayel: “Pixie Dust.” Used once during a wine-fueled jab. Rafayel loved it. Caleb did not.

Zayne: Doesn’t bother. Just meets his eyes and lets the silence work. Occasionally: “Sharp.”

Xavier: “Efficient.” Said like a metric. One-time only. It stuck.

Sylus calls you:

“Chef.” His go-to. He says it like it’s yours to live up to. Occasionally: “Darling.” Only when he’s being particularly smug—or trying to get a reaction from you or Caleb.

Writer’s note: Sooo… I was rewatching The Bear while doodling Chapter One of the Coffee Shop, and suddenly this whole thing just unfolded on my keyboard. For some reason, I thought, “Huh… Bear’s kinda like Caleb in some ways.” I might’ve written a whole chapter about it… or maybe not. Heeeeh. Kaeya’s Nobel Honeymoon

His plan is to make you feel like a royalty, as if you guys are indeed a heir to the crown or maybe the one holding the highest rank in the country. Well you two can only imagine right?

He bought a whole suite for you guys to stay in Airelles (Château De Versailles), France. The suite is called Suite Necker, It’s a beautiful suite, a magnificent one. The view is also wonderful, especially in spring.

He bought the suite for 4 nights, while he also makes sure both of you can have some fun times by participating in the palace tour or the dance in the royal ball.

Helps you whenever you need to fix your clothes, he also manage to fix any clothes malfunction, just incase it would embarrass you, he would fix it without you knowing; act of service is his passion.

Will take you out to some local choices restaurants, he pick the best one, not the one that are meant for tourist. He wants you to have the best food without thinking about the money you both spend over some tourist trap. (While eating, he would always prepare you and your food first, his? Later would be alright. He doesn’t eat his food when you haven’t start eating it)

Would photographed you across the city, the suites, the palace and everywhere you go. His excuse? “I just need to commemorate some beautiful things in here..”

Will buy some souvenirs you’re looking at, especially when you decide not to buy it. He would buy 3 kinds of it and pretend to also like it. Shows it to you (as a surprise) after you both get home from the honeymoon.

Diluc’s cottage dream

He rent a luxurious chalet, the name is chalet melilot. It’s Specifically placed near the mountainside of switzerland so you both can have morning stroll everyday in your honeymoon. Wants to be intact with mother nature since he thought it’ll be more private and sensational.

Thought it’ll be great if you guys also do some surveys around the country for housing if you both enjoyed the country environment.

He would hire a local chef to make you both three course meal for lunch and dinner, it’s all Switzerland’s traditional specialties. Specifically made using organic products and original recipe. He wants you to taste the best healthy and tasty meal, while savouring every each bite.

Every day when you guys walk around the mountain and feel even the slightest bit of cold, he would let you use his jacket, the scent is like firewood, so much like diluc.

At night, he would take you out to the city and even take shots of you using his polaroid. Every pictures he take is meant to be inside his small album of you and him (which he would present it, at the end of the joirney), he would pick the best pictures for his wallet. He seem to have everything in remembrance of you.

At the end of the honeymoon, he surprised you with a dog…a samoyed. It’s a cute thought, also an attentive one. “i know i wouldn’t always be at home and i’m sorry, this honeymoon make me realise that giving you my best is my priority and i will do so by giving you an accompany…this samoyed of our will be our forever accompany in this marriage okay…?”

Childe’s new home

Ajax didn’t like those romantic and sensational types diluc is into, he’s certainly into kaeya’s idea, but he wouldn’t want that either, it’s too cliché. He wants something traditional and refreshing to you. Something that he wants you to experience only with him, not exactly traditional, not exactly romantic, but certainly fresh. It’s not exactly the typical “honeymoon”, since his purpose is to make this trip unforgettable for both of you, and to learn everything about you both.

And that’s to travel around the world to search for a new home, he thought it’ll be better to stay in his hometown but for the sake of you, he wants to make a fresh new start. At your first stop, you guys explore Europe, especially around Sweden and Greece. The second stop is to explore around Asia, which is Mongolia and Vietnam. it’s such a fascinating trip for you both. The third stop is New Zealand, your once go-to-list. To live under these countries culture and to feel as one. You guys kept on trying to adapt to the new environment and it makes you both know each other’s habit easily.

You guys have stayed in numerous hotels and apartments. It’s not exactly romantic nor is it special, it’s both of your purpose to make this trip a whole get-away for newlyweds pressure and such. but makes it endearing is how you both eventually just fall asleep within each other embrace, just resting peacefully in ajax’s chest, while his arm delicately circled your waist. He’s a warm blanket and you’re his beloved plushies.

He would tie your shoes, help you with your bags or laundry, and over all, he’s the one helping you in any chores and in any given chance. He wants you to enjoy this trip without having the burden to do this and that. He just wants you to lay back and have your whole attention to him. Ajax only purpose is to see your smile at the end of the road.

When you both are just too exhausted to explore, you guys would order local take outs and eat it like a hungry fish would. He would laugh and you would teased him. It’s just a moment of laughter and satisfaction. No such a thing as workloads. Just you both having the time of your life together.

Zhongli’s relaxing party

This man’s honeymoon idea is exactly like how you imagine it. Boring but addictive at some way. you both would explore pretty gardens, lovely mountainsides, tea parties, and museum, at taiwan. It’s such a boring idea, but whatever make zhongli smile and whatever make you feel like at an old grandpa house is exactly what you called “the zhongli zone”. It’s comforting, being with zhongli, already feels like you’re being snuggled by a huge polar bear.

He’s such a sweetheart for always making the trip as…relaxing as possible, not wanting to pressure you with the family’s perspective of how newlyweds should act.

It’s not like you’re the one who’s pampering zhongli, he is also trying his best to be suitable enough as the one who court you first. He dips himself inside the hot spring while snuggling with you, he shops some random goods with you, and he also do tea testing by sharing the same cup as you. So relaxing…it makes you forget that you will continue to work again soon sigh.

“do you like this tea? I made this out of boredom and i saw you getting exhausted just by running through stores at the local shops…the goods are okay but i suggest you to keep your health the same, okay?”, this translates to “i’m worried about you, please don’t tire yourself. I want you to be as careful as you are with me when you take care of yourself.” Nonetheless, serves you the tea and even gives you a heartwarming kith on your cheeks.

he would buy you some keychains, handmade ones since he believes it’s more practical for it’s creativity and thoughts in it…also because he appreciates people’s handcraft. He still keeps your handmade bracelets even at your wedding day. he also picks you small pretty flowers when you both were strolling around the floral garden. Fresh and beautiful, just like you (he initially want to say this but he tries not to make it cheesy).

Silently serves you like a dutiful servant would. Makes you tea, cooks you meal, and makes sure you’re well rested. He always wants to pay back the things you did for him, he knows it’s not 100% the same, but he wants you to know that…this honeymoon is made especially for you. After covering you with the blanket and puts on some scented candles. He whispers at night when you were already asleep, “sorry i can’t be the best, but i’ll always be here when you need me. I love you.“

Alhaitham’s wonder of the world

You present him a ticket to travel Papua especially Raja Ampat for your honeymoon and he was so excited, he holds your hand with glimmering eyes…with a calm devoted look. He’s always been this way, hard to show his emotion, even when he’s screaming internally.

When you both arrived, he prepared everything for both of you so you don’t have to stressed out. He loves being the one in charge of itinerary, he loves to work on the schedules. You would see him humming with a straight face in his work office while he’s typing down the things you would do together as husband and wife.

he sets you both up to a diving session. He’s so excited he talks about it all night along. You can hear his yap even at the first day you got there. He loves nature, the sea, and everything inside that deep ocean. You were kind of scared of the ocean, you confessed that at first, and he looks at you with confusion before he say such a reassurance that makes you rethink if this is THE Alhaitham you’re thinking of. “if you’re scared, hold my hand and close your eyes..i promise, i’ll be there, beside you.”

That words he make instantly scarred your heart with love. You don’t even know how it makes you fall harder for him. But you did, you trusted him with your whole life, you hold his hands and he dive you into the sea-worlds. He giggles when he sees you all scared…he hugged you while you both dive so you won’t be scared or sink when you’re not in his watch. “don’t be coy now…trust me, i won’t let you out of my sight.”

When you got back home…you don’t even know how he made you so in love. Sigh…alhaitham, the man you are..

gojo satoru is the head of jujutsu academy's elite high school host club with his friends: geto suguru, nanami kento, itadori sukuna, shoko ieiri, haibara yu, and of course, their princess manager. what happens when they go up against another elite host club on an exchange event with different schools? let's find out!

a/n: haven't planned out if it's a series or collection of one shots, might do both; an au within an au would be fun. let me know if you have any ideas

international jujutsu technology and science academy is one of the world's largest elite private schools, having many campuses around the world. their founding campus is in tokyo, japan. their primary educational directions focuses on the development of technology and sciences. they cater from pre-k to high school (+ college prep). one of the most popular clubs is the high school's host club, where they get to entertain students with too much time on their hands

gojo satoru.

the founder of the said club is gojo satoru, head of the gojo clan who oversees gojo co, one of the oldest construction companies in the world. they focus on architecture specifically traditional japanese architecture. due to the modernizing of the world, they focused on implementing modern taste to the architecture to also maintain competitive in the industry. one of their main projects is upkeeping of the tokyo campus.

geto suguru.

the spokesman/vice president, geto suguru. he is part of the brains of the host club along with kento. the heir of the geto corporations that started their organization due to biochemistry long ago. earlier generations of his family had a massive breakthrough with their research which allowed them to catapult to the top. suguru is currently leading and overseeing the company's subgroup, uzumaki, which is helping the advancement of merging bioengineering within the company.

nanami kento.

the actual brains of the host club, nanami kento. he runs the numbers and makes sure that everything is running well with their princess manager. kento's family mainly function in the banking industry within the financial services but dabble in the investment industry. he still questions as to why he spends his free time (and exerting a lot of effort) with the host club.

itadori sukuna.

just a member/bodyguard of the host club (because he's a giant so he's intimidating), itadori sukuna. the last entering member (satoru was really just curious about sukuna and invited him with the group, ended up being wowed by his host skills). his family is a line of top chefs, selling cookware and cookbooks, and also runs the culinary department of jujutsu academy. (pretty popular probably because his little brother, yuuji, shows up every so often).

shoko ieiri.

here for the shits and giggles, shoko ieiri. her family consists of doctors and engineers which would lead into medical technology. she decided to go down the doctor route but will eventually need to replace her mother's position soon as she (her mother) would be retiring. ieiri joined the host club, just to accompany satoru and suguru, but has not minded the club activities since joining.

haibara yu.

here for the shits and giggles pt. 2, haibara yu (actually, kento asked him to take part of the host club with him). his family is one of the oldest toy manufacturers in japan, as well as branching out to confectioneryand theme parks (which have been successful endeavors). he also supplies all of the treats and tea imports for the host clubs, cutting down the expenses severely due to a large discount (but they do get new recipes sampled for free, just have to pay if they choose to keep it in their lineup)

the dear princess manager of the host club. she works behind the scenes with the help of mostly kento but as well as suguru. her family is just old money rich, starting as medics way back during history. due to housing multiple patients and lost people, the business went from medical to hospitality. they moved around, dropping seeds down as they go. it eventually bloomed heavily, leaving a fortune. there's no rightful heir as her and her siblings must work together to figure it out (however, she seems to be the commander of it all)

Tae spent most of this episode when not actively playing with Jikook on his phone. Part of me wishes we got to see more of him with his other friends too, but I'm glad he made time to hang out with Jikook before they all enlisted too 🥰

Tae baby was so sleepy! He slept through the whole car ride basically and then came back to nap fully too. Jimin woke him up so softly 🥰

JK at a restaurant in NY while doing Golden promo alone with staff and immediately thinking about how he wants to make it for Jimin because "Jimin would love it" is so freaking cute and precious and sweet

JK didn't just cook stew for Jimin or Vmin, but for the entire staff. And I love him so much for that. The sweetest human he is

Both Jikook expressing that they loved having V there and that he helped make it so fun and that a maknae line trip made them feel really young again. And you could tell too. They were so silly! I love these 3 so much!!

Wrap up Thoughts:

So Jikook knew by the end of September that they would enlist together. And the palpable relief they both clearly felt over that was so so clear. This 100% made the experience way more tolerable for them. I'm so glad that they have each other. The difference in the way they talk about military service, especially JK, in the US and in Jeju is striking. In the US, JK started playfully smacking Jimin when he would bring it up, it caused him tension and anxiety and he clearly didn't want to talk about it, especially on camera. While here in Jeju, they know they will be together and they are relaxed, making jokes, expressing their happiness about getting to go together. Expressing their surety about how nice and helpful it will be to have the other there and their faith and trust in each other. How they want to wake up to each other. It's beautiful

I don't like calling any of the members 3rd wheels unless it's stupidly obvious it's a joke, but this episode Tae was third wheeling a bit at times. Jikook seem to have a tendency to hyper focus on each other at times during conversation. When they were all playing and being silly, I never once got 3rd wheel vibes. Only during times of heavy conversation while they were eating. Tae also kept pulling out his phone. He was clearly in touch with amother group of friends during that time as well who were also in Jeju, and him trying to split so much of his attention also probably fed a bit of those third wheel vibes a bit too. I'm so glad he was there with them though. Jikook also were as well. They all had such a good time together and seeing them and sharing in the love they all share is so healing for me personally. I hope Tae had the best time on Jeju with them and his Wooga Squad too! 💜💜💜

As I said before, Vivien does not want to kidnap Darling, but he will if he has to.

Once he has you nice and safe in his basement where you can't run away, he starts in on his plan to wear you down spoil you.

He makes sure you have every comfort possible. You have a tv with any streaming service you want, all the comfy blankets and snacks and books you want, even a pet if you want it. Anything you ask for, he'll bring it to you within a day. He will spend every minute he's not actively working with you, desperately trying to show you how much he loves you and how patient and kind he is and how he so so so so wants to treat you like royalty and make a family of little princes and princesses with you.

Honestly, he's so sweet and genuine that it's difficult for anyone not to fall in love with him, and he's patient enough to keep this up for months. He just wants to love you and for you to love him back! Is that too much to ask?

However, if you keep your will and still refuse to love him/pretend you love him, he will start to get frustrated. He'll start to demand more couple things with you, like giving you a specially engineered phone that only lets you talk to him and demand you text him pictures of what you're doing and message him while he's at work. He might hold you in his arms so you get used to his gentle touch. He'll slowly manipulate you by talking about how much easier things will be when you give in, how he bets it would be so nice to go outside again and you could have that if you were just good.

Eventually, he will wear you down, but if you were an especially disobedient Darling, he'll keep you on a short leash once you're allowed outside. He'll take you to and from work, always trying to keep tabs on you and rarely letting you outside without him until he is absolutely certain you won't leave him.

Or maybe you can't be trusted outside alone at all. Your sweet head keeps entertaining these notions of leaving him, you obviously can't handle the outside world unaccompanied. Maybe you're meant to be a stay-at-home spouse, soon to be a stay-at-home parent. Don't worry, he'll be sure to give you lots of sweet children to make sure you're not lonely, and he'll certainly give you lots of his attention as well.

Don't worry, you're his precious Darling, he'll take care of you.

Atalanta

Atalanta is generally a pretty consistent person whose true self (the self that she shows around family and Darling) is honestly pretty close to the persona she puts on in public. She's very mild and calm and generally slow to spur strong emotions.

She has a very clear plan for how to teach Darling to be both the perfect spouse and the perfect socialite. Her plan includes strategically using both rewards and punishments to train and mold Darling's behavior.

Atalanta is kind of a very controlling yandere. She always knows where Darling is, what they're doing, who they're with, and what time they're coming back. She has at least 4 bodyguards with you if you're going somewhere unfamiliar and around 2 if you're going somewhere known like a friend's house.

She's not really jealous; she doesn't need to be. Simply by being hers you already have a mark on you. No one will be able to hide you for long. A random shopkeeper might have a child who works at her company. The police just got another large Montclair donation. Anyone who sees you unaccompanied will return you back to your rightful place, and no one dares touch you without her permission.

Atalanta is also the kind of yandere to restrict what Darling does. Your days will be filled with all the best that high society has to offer, charity galas, yacht trips, private jets, Michelin chefs. It sounds nice, but now that you're with her, she sees no reason for you to ever indulge in silly things like grabbing fast food with friends, dancing at the club, and working your own job and making your own money. You have her now, you don't need to do these things. You can rest now.

Atalanta is very patient. If Darling resists or otherwise fights back, she will simply have you stay inside the penthouse until you repent and apologize for your bad behavior. If you run, she'll find you within hours and you will be punished. All the comforts she has given you? Let's see how long this defiance lasts when you have to spend days on end with no entertainment but what she mercifully decides to give you.

She is more than willing to wait years for you to calm down and be the perfect spouse, hanging on her arm, kissing her cheek, laughing at her jokes over a fancy dinner she bought you at the best restaurant in the city. Her mother did the same thing and Atalanta is nothing if not a Mommy's girl.

If you ever want to breathe fresh air again, even with her metaphorical chain around your ankle, you'll settle down and appreciate the things she works so hard to give you. It truly doesn't have to be this difficult, Darling girl.

👀 Skinny dipping in the sea

If someone had asked Alex what his perfect honeymoon would be, he would have said this. Even though a year ago, he didn’t even know this existed. Henry had been the one to suggest a totally private island, away from prying eyes or anyone to bother them. With the exception of a few staff who take a boat over once a day (a maid who tidies up and brings fresh towels and a chef who cooks them dinner), they are completely and utterly alone. Their security team has a villa on the main island and access to the 24-hour boat service, should the need arise. But otherwise, there is no way on or off this island.

It’s been another perfect day in paradise and the chef has gone back to the mainland. They’ve cleaned up from dinner and the sun is setting, throwing the most vibrant, gorgeous colors across the sky, and Alex is not about to fucking miss it.

“Come on, baby,” he says, pulling on Henry’s hand as he affectionately rolls his eyes and stands from his lounger. Henry wanted to finish his chapter of the book he was reading, but the sunset waits for no man. “Let’s enjoy it from the water.”

When they get to the beach, Henry pauses in his tracks. He looks down at himself, then at Alex, a sly smile taking over his face. He hooks his hands in the waistband of his swimsuit and shimmies it off, stepping out and taking Alex’s hand again. Alex takes the hint, pushing his shorts down as well and dragging Henry into the ocean.

Alex has skinny dipped a lot of places – Lake LBJ dozens of times, pools and hot tubs at houses and villas they’ve rented, and once, Nora’s grandparents’ pool in Vermont (but that’s a story for another time). But he’s never done it in open ocean and it feels fucking amazing. The salty water is smooth and refreshing against his skin and Henry’s palm is firm and centering in his. They wade out until they’re both in up to their chests and Alex scans the sky, watching the setting sun fling the most incredible colors across it. 

The warm oranges and pinks and purples make Henry’s skin glow when Alex glances over and sees Henry watching him.

“You’re not watching the sunset.”

“Am I not allowed to look where I want?”

“It’s only fucking romantic if we watch the sunset together, baby.”

“It is?” And with that, Henry tugs Alex closer, grabbing his butt as leverage to pull him up, forcing Alex’s legs to wrap around Henry’s waist as his arms come up around his neck. It leaves him a little breathless, the abruptness with which Henry can still surprise him and render him speechless. 

“Baby,” Alex groans, leaning in to kiss the grin off Henry’s face. It’s lazy and languid and deep and fucking everything and Alex wants to drown in Henry’s kiss, right here in this beautiful ocean. After several minutes or maybe hours, Alex pulls back, panting, and sees all the love he feels reflected back in Henry’s eyes. The intensity of his moment makes Alex shudder and he pulls Henry back to him again. “I love you,” he mumbles against Henry’s lips.

Henry tilts his head, mumbles, “I love you more” against Alex’s jaw.

“Lies,” Alex groans as Henry’s hands flex where they’re holding him and their hips start to move instinctively, seeking friction.

They rut together and Alex forgets about the sunset until Henry is licking along his collarbone and his head falls back. His eyes open for a moment and he gasps in wonder at the colors above him. 

“Henry, baby. Look.”

Henry removes his lips to look up, their bodies still moving together in perfect, practiced rhythm. 

“Beautiful,” Henry whispers. Alex’s eyes drop down to find Henry staring at him instead of the view. He has no words left, just noises of pleasure as their mouths slot back together once more. 

When Alex comes, it’s the reverent look on Henry’s face that lives inside his head. When he starts to come down, it’s the rainbow of colors painted across the sky that make this moment singular. When Henry’s eyes open after his own release, it’s the perfect blue that reminds Alex that he’s home, even in the middle of an ocean on the other side of the world. 

After the trip ends, they’ll tell people about this sunset. How vibrant it was, how breathtaking. But the moment they shared during it… that’s just for them.

2020 VoicePlay fall activities — spooks, side projects, and celebrations

Following an unexpectedly tumultuous summer, the VoicePlay guys were starting to get their feet back under themselves. They had adjusted to new necessary safety measures, gotten back on a fairly regular production schedule, and even pursued some new personal projects. As the end of the year approached, they finished off a number of productions, planned for new ones, and finally found a little time to breathe.

A little "me" time

After his first two videos went well and received a positive response, Geoff jumped into the crowdfunding pool for his solo work with a shiny new Patreon. As convenient as it was to film in his own home, there was only so much he and Kathy could achieve in that limited space, and they had some more ambitious ideas in mind.

J.None battled his growing cabin fever with several silly videos, starting with this cover of Roddy Ricch's "The Box" using multiple vocal styles and impressions. (NOTE: He does include the cussing in the original lyrics.)

Ghost stories

VoicePlay kicked off spooky season in style with a haunted house aesthetic and a new guest singer in the form of their pal Omar Cardona. Their cover of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition" is a ghastly good time.

The next day, Geoff released his first solo Halloween tune. He busted out his best Thurl Ravenscroft impression and a little fancy video editing for the classic tale of "The Headless Horseman".

Rollercoaster of emotions

J's next coping video was an invitation to a dance party. Feel free to groove along with him to "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd.

In the middle of the month, the Vocal Therapy podcast released their fourth episode, featuring J.None crooning his way through John Legend's "Ordinary People".

The next day, PattyCake unleashed their Halloween video for the year. It combined an original 80s-tastic pop song with a cavalcade of horror movie baddies. Everyone from the Sanderson sisters to Michael Myers to Frankenstein's monster and his bride descended on a nondescript suburb for a surprisingly fun time.

Civic responsibility

With the U.S. presidential election quickly approaching, J slipped into a cozy Batman onesie, put on his best gravelly vigilante voice, and urged his fellow citizens to exercise their right to vote.

Looking back and forward

Back in 2017, J.None and VoicePlay's stalwart sound engineer Paul Kaleka had teamed up on a dance track for the Indaba Music Spooky Jams contest and won. When the company that ran the contest was absorbed into another service, the song's ownership rights reverted to Paul, so he re-released it on his own, just in time for another Halloween.

Over the following weekend, Earl celebrated his 40th birthday by having a quiet night in with his husband, complete with cake and fun presents.

One last spook

VoicePlay closed out October with their annual trip to Halloween Town. They gathered up Rachel Potter and got their villainy on in a plot to "Kidnap the Sandy Claws".

As usual, The Nightmare Before Christmas made a perfect transition from one holiday season to the next. Once this video was completed and out in the world, they headed into the studio again to film their Christmas tune for the year.

Funny bones to the grind stone

The guys were pretty quiet on social media for the first half of November as they prepared for the end of one year and the beginning of a new one. The exception, as usual, was J.None.

With several food-focused holidays approaching, J wanted to help folks avoid the perils that can come with spending more time than usual in the kitchen.

.

On Sunday, he participated in an event that served multiple purposes. In addition to being a music showcase, there was also a blood drive, a sickle cell anemia information session, and a tasting from a local private chef's catering menu. The tunes were even available to enjoy via livestream.

The next weekend, J released a cover of John Legend's "Wild", complete with a video featuring his trademark tongue-in-cheek take on the romantic tune.

Shiny showtimes

The week before Thanksgiving was a busy one for the guys, on multiple fronts. Layne and Tony gathered up their Descendants cast again to ask Santa whether they were on the "Naughty or Nice" list.

Meanwhile, J.None met up with some friends from Entertainment Central Productions for a virtual event as Vocal Flash.

The ensuing weekend began on an educational note as Layne sat down with Elizabeth Zharoff of The Charismatic Voice for an interview that also served as a peek into his audio mix of VoicePlay's "Moana medley".

The next day, Geoff headed to the office with a trio of friends to film his "Mele Kalikimaka" music video featuring The American Sirens.

Group efforts

Then VoicePlay put out a new promo for their Patreon and YouTube memberships. It contains their usual mix of talent, affability, and goofy humor that makes so many people like and support them.

Judging by their shirts, it looks like they recorded the talking head portions on the same day as "The Heart of Life", because they knew they'd need new promotional material with just the four of them. Once they had enough new music videos, they were able to integrate clips from those, as well.

The following Tuesday brought the release of J.None's latest collaboration, "Stay This Way" by Martinus Chichon, a melancholy tune about the work it takes to maintain relationships

Let them cook

VoicePlay jumped into the Christmas season a couple days earlier than usual, unleashing their version of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" on the day before Thanksgiving.

.

J.None also filmed himself preparing a turkey with some bizarre stuffing and glaze. He used his nephew's song "Get Off of Me" (that he'd helped write and produce) as the soundtrack while he concocted a rather strange basting liquid.

.

The month came to a close with the release of J's latest JamSchooled appearance, a parody of "Savage" by Meghan Thee Stallion, containing both a lesson about adjecives and a message of positive self-perceptions.

Jingle babes

Once December had arrived, it was time for more holiday tunes. PattyCake put out their playful "Naughty or Nice" music video featuring the return of their Descendants Villain Kids.

Then Geoff released his first solo Christmas song, a cover of the Bing Crosby classic "Mele Kalikimaka", featuring his pals The American Sirens.

Random reminiscences

While preparing for the end of the year, J.None took a look back at everything that had happened leading up to it, and shared a few random clips. From singing with Paradigm, to training for a road race, to travels and a soundcheck with VoicePlay, and solo time at the gym, he was a very busy guy during a time when that became vastly more difficult.

Mistletoe, mischief, and mist

The next weekend, J put his own mischievous spin on Nat King Cole's "Christmas Song" that is likely to leave you both smiling and shaking your head at his antics.

In the middle of the month, VoicePlay recruited Omar Cardona again to film their first music video of the mew year.

The following day saw the release of Peter Hollens's "Epic Christmas Movie Medley" with a familiar bassy voice narrating part of the Grinch's villain song.

Ready to rock

Saturday was a busy one for J.None. First, he uploaded a rollicking rendition of "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" in the style of the Jackson 5 that shows off his impressive vocal range. Then he met up with Paradigm Party Band for a show downtown at Tin Roof. As part of their promotion for the event (and an early birthday celebration for J), they shared some rehearsal clips on social media.

Meanwhile, Tony was interviewed by a local news station about a new socially distanced performance series at the Dr. Phillips Center while attending a holiday concert by Broadway star Michael James Scott.

As the VoicePlay gang took some well-deserved time with their friends and family to close out the year, two more of J.None's collaborations made their way into the world — "Before" with Marek Karniewski, and "Close to Heaven" with Swigg.

there are around 50 staff working at the palace at any given time. stolas employs a variety of hellborn, between imps, hellhounds and succubi (though the majority of his staff is indeed made up of imps.)

1 butler in charge of 10 footmen, who also serves as a valet, ie. he will greet & announce guests, and personally look after the lord of the house, including dressing and preening him - he is basically trained to anticipate and meet stolas' every need. formerly mr butler ( @mrbutlers ), currently pringles impington, a tiny, discreet and hard working imp who came highly recommended by mr butler. when stolas' was a youth, the butler was also in charge of the young prince's ars goetia education and upbringing, so he had a more prominent role in the household - he acted as a steward and father figure of sorts in paimon's place.

1 ladies' maid in charge of waiting on stella and octavia.

1 housekeeper, in charge of running the household and overseeing 15 maids.

1 head chef, 2 assistant cooks / apprentices and 3 kitchen waitstaff. temporary waitstaff and security will be hired for grand catered parties.

1 nanny, while octavia was a chick

1 chauffer for stella and octavia - stolas usually travels by portal.

1 carefully selected gardener, expert in caring for exotic plants. though stolas does most of the work when it comes to the plants in the house and greenhouse, the gardener will look after maintaining the wider grounds of the estate.

1 archivist, entrusted with his vast collection of literature and magical artefacts; they will not have access to the grimoire or other out of bounds, powerful literature and artefacts - those are kept under lock and key in stolas' private quarters.

1 steward / custodian - verse dependent but currently @keeperofquestions and @dark-ambition, entrusted with the smooth running of the household accounts, checking staff, legions and supplies (household and military), managing the estate and other ad hoc tasks. acts as a sort of advisor and has in depth knowledge of the ars goetia politics.

4 hellhound bodyguards, in charge of personal security. his palace and estate are protected by magical warding glyphs.

stolas doesn't personally select all of his staff, but he entrusts that task to the butler, steward, housekeeper and head chef; however he will be directly involved in selecting the four of them, plus the nanny, gardener and archivist - the main positions of trust at the palace.

being employed in an ars goetia household can be very daunting and extremely nerve-racking hard work, depending on the family, but it is also known to be exceptionally well paid, and comes with a hefty dose of prestige.

NOTE: there are other general ars goetia staff positions, like tailor ( @aroyaltailor) painter etc. those are not necessarily employed by stolas but he will visit them and employ their services when needed.

A Tour of the Lot

The Exterior:

Designed to preserve the exterior design of the original property, the four apartments are accessed by two dedicated yards with trash access. The 'main street' of the now quiet pier was once host to hundreds of sims a day but is now a shared space for the tenants to enjoy some outdoor time together. The name 'Old Italia' is inspired by the patriotic paintjob left by the original inhabitants way back when the Pier was still an active fish market.

The Communal Spaces:

Although the outside of the former shops and services have remained unchanged, the interiors could not have changed more. Unlike the upstairs homes, the commercial property had no prospect of enduring and has since been repurposed for truly luxurious living.

Long Game Gym / Formerly Granny Beth's Bits n' Bobs

Once owned by the final inhabitant of the apartment above, Granny Beth's Bits n' Bobs was once the one stop shop for anything craft related in the local area. After a lucrative creative career Elizabeth 'Beth' McCann set about spreading her pink vision of the world. Unfortunately her rival and neighbour would have the last laugh as her grandson bought out the craft shop and replaced it with a gym inspired by his grandmother's domino aesthetic.

Adriatic Laundry Services / Formerly The Red Crane

Renowned as the best Asian cuisine this side of the Simissippi, the Red Crane was once the favourite spot of celebrities far and wide. Despite the fame, the owner never took advantage and became well known for his fair prices and wholesome family image.

Few people know, but San Sequoia used to be the source of many flower imports into SimNation, and no where else could the freshest and most exotic flora be found. Taking advantage of this luck was Bountiful Bouquets who it is said created the bouquets for a Royal Wedding!

The heartbeat of the local economy was appropriately nestled in the middle of the main street trading in the best that came off the fishing boats. It was the only commercial endeavour that saw the start of the pier, and the end.

Afterwards it underwent the largest renovation of the four properties and was developed into a community pool. Decadence awaits you as you descend into a desert oasis amongst the busy suburban life. Equipped with pool, adult hot tub area and even a kids activity room, every member of the family can enjoy their day hiding from the desert sun.

One half of the most famous duo to be residents at the Old Italia Pier was Elizabeth 'Beth' McCann, a woman who it can safely be said, enjoyed pink. After a glittering career with her sister in the silent era of film she made the transition to the talkies, and then to colour films unlike her sister who seemed to be unable to keep up.

This lifelong resentment led to a bitter rivalry between the siblings, although most of it was aimed at Beth who for all intents and purposes was living her best life. Never marrying, Beth would adopt a son with her long time partner though they would later part ways causing scandal in the tabloids.

Tragedy would touch the McCann household despite Beth's happy disposition and she would end up raising her grandchildren after the death of her son and his wife necessitating some remodelling to accommodate such a lofty task.

No longer able to tread the boards or walk the red carpet, Beth consolidated her royalties and opened her 'Granny Beth's Bits n' Bobs' craft store and settled in for a quiet life.

The home has seen a lot of love, a lot of tears and a lot of knitting. It is perfect for an elder sim, or a small family of comfortable means.

Here’s Your First Peek at Blake Shelton’s Las Vegas Honky Tonk Bar

Blake Shelton’s sprawling country bar will offer some of the best views in Las Vegas

Blake Shelton’s Ole Red, a sprawling, multi-story bar, dance hall, music venue, and restaurant, opens soon, and when it does, it may offer the best rooftop view of the Las Vegas Strip. Shelton broke ground on Ole Red in January of 2023 in front of the Horseshoe Las Vegas. Since then, construction crews have been building the four-story Tennessee-born restaurant, chefs have been developing a menu with dishes that are exclusive to Las Vegas, and Shelton’s team has been bulking up the roster of musical acts that will perform on stage beneath the 4,500-pound ceiling-mounted tractor.

The roughly 27,000-square-foot country bar has four levels. On the first floor is a stage in front of a 38-foot-tall LED screen that can project images to complement shows or be divided into smaller screens for broadcasting sports and other events. The second and third stories overlook the stage and each floor has a bar at the back and fully modular seating — meaning that each floor can offer traditional restaurant-style tables, lounge-style seating, or even have the furniture cleared away to make room for dancing.

The second floor has a first for Las Vegas — a direct walkway into the honky tonk. The elevated pedestrian walkway stretches from the Bellagio Las Vegas Hotel and Casino side of Las Vegas Boulevard to right inside the bar. Both stories have outdoor balconies, offering views of the Grand Bazaar Shops to the East and the Fountains at Bellagio to the west.

The fourth floor is up on the rooftop and will offer a more exclusive experience. Reservations will be encouraged for evening VIP dining, with semi-private cabanas and lounge seating reserved with table minimums. The rooftop will have regular dining at lunch time, then transition to nightlife service around 9 p.m. every night, with cocktail menus and entertainment unique to the fourth floor.

The view from the center Strip rooftop is panoramic, offering views from the Mandalay Bay at the south end of the Strip to the Mirage at the north end. It’s primed for viewing big events like the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix and parades for the Golden Knights or Las Vegas Aces, with more than a mile of visibility in either direction. Ole Red can seat about 670 people, or offer standing room for more than 1,100. It’s a capacity that warrants the facility’s two kitchens.

The menu will have about 17 items from Ole Red’s locations in Tennessee, Florida, and Shelton’s hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Chef Mark Boor spent months developing a further 17 dishes that will be unique to Las Vegas. There will be appetizers like the Turnin’ Me On loaded tots, which are rounds of house-made crispy tots piled high with truffle salt, bacon, parmesan, herbs, a sweet bourbon onion and tomato jam, and a smoked black bean aioli. Shrimp corn dogs are Boor’s answer to “Vegas-ifying” the corn dog — coating skewers of shrimp in a light and flaky batter, served with three types of aioli. Boor says his favorite dish, and one he expects to be a crowd-pleaser, is the blackberry crispy chicken sliders. The three mini sandwiches are layered with sweet blackberry compote, a tangy whipped goat cheese spread with jalapenos, cabbage, and super crispy chicken on brioche buns.

Leaning into the West Coast-adjacent location, the menu will have a street corn salad with roasted corn and cotija cheese and mahi-mahi tacos with slaw and avocado. The Hell Right burger is 10 ounces of ground short rib, brisket, and chuck with hatch green chiles, pepper jack cheese, and smoked mushrooms — the result a super juicy burger requiring a two-hand grip. And there’s also the Ole Red ribeye, a 20-ounce bone-in ribeye with spiced chipotle butter, horseradish mashed potatoes, and crunchy slaw.

Ole Red Las Vegas and Ryman Hospitality Properties say that this will be the chain’s largest location to date. With a focus on live country music, the bar will predominantly boast a soundtrack of acoustic solo artists during the day, bands in the evening, and even DJs performing after dark. General manager, Ryan Klaasen says that on most days, the restaurant will be organized for lunch service through the afternoon, and then the tables and booths may take on whatever redecorating is needed to accommodate the night’s entertainment.

“I’ve been coming here a long time. I hosted award shows and worked concerts and was a fan and witness to Gwen Stefani’s residency,” Shelton said at an announcement for the bar last January. “And every time I’m here, I want to see some damn country music.” Shelton said he expects that Ole Red will welcome talent from unsigned singers and artists previously featured on The Voice. He’s also pitched a night in which visitors play talent scouts, listening to music from country artists in a venue with concert-quality production.

While Ole Red doesn’t have an opening date yet, it is expected to open within the next few weeks.

Things have finally lined out a bit for the Stark Strange Parker house. After a few months of physical therapy, Peter was moving better than ever. He was even working part-time at the same hospital that Stephen worked at. Enough hours to where Peter felt independent enough with his own money. Keeps him busy and for him not to get lonely at the mansion. Tony was fully back in the swing of things, so he wasn't always there.

He still stuck to his morning routine of walking and / or jogging with the dogs. Steve and Bucky switch up on who shadowed him. He even started experimenting some with some of the drugs that Stephen had mixed up. Not in high doses, just minimal and including it in foods. He loves lacing cookies and brownies that he bakes for the house. Taking back up dancing as well. Finding routines online or just freestyle. It's one of the things he does to work off the stress.

Peter loves his job. But his new lifestyle choice? Being the 3rd to a married couple isn't easy. Sure, in private, Tony and Stephen shower him with love and attention. But Peter can't ride with Stephen to work to help protect both their careers.

But it doesn't stop the rumors.

Peter was storing away some injection cap that are used to connect tubing and syringes to your intravenous (IV) catheters. He was in the supply closest in the back hidden behind numerous shelves.

The door opens to the room, and several sets of footsteps are heard.

He reaches up and lightly touches the side of his neck. The hickey he just noticed this morning, one that he had to quickly get to Christine to see if she had any make-up he could borrow. The door swings open the the other nurses leave the room. Peter stands there frozen in the back of the supply closet. His eyes filling with tears, he takes a deep breath. Tony's men were dropping him off for protection.

And sometimes he forgets his lunch that the chef makes for him in the car. So Steve or Bucky bring it to him. Even though he was healed from the gun shot, he was still on a bit healthier diet. Figuring he could let loose closer to the holidays.But thats not something he could explain easily.

Maybe he should ask Tony to get an taxi car? That will help dampen the rumors a bit... but if they are willing to talk about it so openly. Nothing would really be able to put the rumors to rest.

(Happy to share more about this if anyone’s interested! Expenses in the White House always blows everyone’s mind because no one expects it to be what it actually is.)

So it's probably not the juicy tea you're all thinking it is (and apologies if I made it sound like that!) but basically, the first family is responsible for all of their expenses in the White House. Dry cleaning, clothes, groceries, household items, furnishings, parties and events (and the staff who work those events), vacations, etc are all paid by the POTUS out of pocket.

Basically, the only things that taxpayers fund at the White House are the official state dinners, secret service, lodging at Camp David, the first $100,000 for redecorating the White House per term, and the staff's salaries when conducting official business. If the White House staff is used during a private event (say, the White House chef who catered Naomi Biden's wedding and the White House cleaning crew that set up/took down decorations for the wedding), then their pay for the event comes out of the POTUS's pocket directly.

It's one of the reasons why the First Family is typically in debt when the president leaves office and why they all take lucrative book and speaking deals - they need the money to pay the bills they've racked up for living in the White House. The President's political party and/or PAC might also kick in some money too from donations but typically the first family is funding everything in the White House themselves, in addition to their pre-White House home.

Regarding their clothes, the First Ladies are allowed to accept gifts from designers but the caveat is that they must wear it at least once and it has to be donated afterwards - it cannot be kept in perpetuity or resold.

There are a couple famous stories of former presidents being notorious penny-pinchers when they lived in the White House because they had to pay for everything themselves. I think it was Bush 1 who used to sit down at the end of the week with the grocery bill and make sure that they were buying the cheap store-brand no-name items so he could have a balanced budget.

I saw an anon in the comments who asked about the Obamas having to pay for arts and science-y events and yes, this is why. Because those artsy events (like when they hosted the cast of Hamilton) and science fairs aren't official state diplomatic business. The Obamas had to pay for those events out of pocket or they partnered with sponsors who donated money for them to host the events.

So going back to the original topic, if Jill went "just" to the wedding, it would be categorized as a private vacation since the FLOTUS has no official status, duty, or responsibility in the US government so the Bidens would be paying for everything out-of-pocket from transportation to lodging to airfare. However by tacking on a diplomatic tour, the Bidens have pulled the Department of State into it and are stiffing us with the check for Jill's traveling - we'll be paying for her airfare to Jordan/the Middle East, her lodging, the motorcade, the people traveling with her - while all Jill has to pay for is her outfit for the wedding and the gas it takes to drive her from the hotel to the venue.
