I think the song Abbey by Mitski fits my version of Mack really well, I’d love to make an animatic for him one day.

His mom prepped him from childhood to be a ship captain one day. He was never given a chance to choose who he wanted to be, so being captain was all he had. He didn’t make friends in school, he studied hard and kept to himself. And when he finally got what he had been working for, he watched someone less qualified take it away from him all because they were more popular (the captain). Feeling that last shred of his sense of self be ripped away, he had to take to more desperate measures to make sure he was captain.
