in the sex lessons au, reader was definitely introduced to porn by patrick. i bet he also gave her massages that “required” her to take off her shirt and bra and always ended up with his hands on her nipple….

Rating: E (18+)
Warnings: SMUT (mutual masturbation, exhibitionism kinda, more manipulative perverts but that’s par for the course)
A/N: how did you know I eat this up. I wrote a 3 part Steve Harrington fic with this exact plot like…. This is my bread and butter simply. Unedited sozz

It was easy to succumb to temptation when it was just the three of you— holed up in Art’s dorm, hidden away from the rest of the world.
A few cans of beer, cold from his mini fridge, the warm press of your legs on top of Patrick’s, of Art’s chest against your back. There’s a movie playing on Art’s laptop— some shitty action movie he’d rented for the three of you.
“Have you ever watched porn?” Patrick asks you bluntly.
Your eyes widen in surprise. “What? No— websites like that give you computer viruses, and stuff.” Art laughs, his body shaking with it. You suppose it is a little childish, but you’re being completely earnest. “What? Doesn’t it?”
Patrick laughs, shakes his head. “If that were true I would’ve gone through a thousand computers by now.”
You grimace, toss an empty beer can at him. “You’re so fucking gross.”
But Patrick just laughs, takes another swig of his beer, leans forward curiously. “So… I mean, do you just use your imagination when you’re touching yourself?”
Heat burns in your cheeks, and you roll your eyes. “Shut up.”
“Well, how do you know what you need to imagine if you’ve never seen anyone fucking? Is it just sweet kisses and hand holding?”
You kick him and Art comes to your defense like the sweetest knight in shining armor. “C’mon, Patrick, leave her alone.” Art’s hand is splayed across your tummy— firm, warm, protective. Patrick pretends like he doesn’t hear him, leans closer.
“I wanna know what innocent little fantasies you get off to. I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.” It’s hard to resist Patrick when he’s so close, when Art’s so close, when you feel warm and dizzy all over.
You sigh softly, relishing as he presses his warm body against your side, so it’s Patrick and Art and you sandwiched hot between them. “You realize you’re being a major fucking perv, right?” You ask in a low tone, meeting his gaze through your lashes. He nods, and you’re so conscious of his hand between your knees as his eyes bear into yours. But he wants you to continue, so you swallow and go on. “I dunno, sometimes it’s not about a fantasy. It’s just about me wanting some stress relief, or, like, my body needing it and it’s too hard to ignore.”
Art’s fingers flex against your stomach and you take a slow breath. “But, I mean, I guess I fantasize about being desired, like, taken care of I guess,” you mumble, mortified that you’re admitting it.
Patrick grins, runs his thumb along the inside of your knee. “That’s so sweet.” You roll your eyes, take a long drink, and try to ignore the heat in your stomach. “Do you want to see what Art likes to watch?”
Art’s eyes go wide, and he shakes his head. “No, no, we’re not doing that,” he says firmly. Patrick brushes him off, ignoring his pleas as he grabs the laptop and pulls up his trusty porn site. You peer over Patrick’s shoulder, eyes going wide as he opens to the home page, to all the recommended videos.
Your jaw drops, just a bit, and you let your eyes rake over the screen. It’s all right there— flagrant. Pretty girls with dicks in their mouths, pussies, hands. Lewd titles, the preview videos playing brief glimpses of obscenity.
“Aww, Art, this is so adorable,” Patrick teases as he scrolls. “Girl best friend deepthroats like a champ. Morning lovemaking ends in creampie.” Art mumbles something against your shoulder, blushing so hard you can feel the heat emanating from his skin.
Patrick clicks the latter and it opens to slow, deep kissing. A mess of tongues, rife with need. You know it’s normal to watch, to an extent— a right of passage, or whatever. But watching it feels so voyeuristic, so invasive. Especially when you’re practically in Art’s lap, when Patrick’s hands are hot against your skin.
Patrick gets bored of soft kissing and wandering hands and skips five minutes ahead in the video. By the time the buffering catches up, they’re fucking onscreen, all slow and sweet. Still kissing, still holding hands. But you also see the way the man’s cock sinks into her, can hear the moaning, the wet sounds of her body taking him in.
Art exhales a shaky breath against your skin, makes you shiver. He’s hard, you can feel that clearly against you, and you know he’s provably fucking mortified over it. But he doesn’t move to turn off the video, doesn’t do anything. His hand twitches against your stomach and you realize he’s still holding you.
The video is short— too short, you decide. The man finishes, you get a close up of the woman’s pussy, of cum dripping from her entrance. It makes your face burn, makes desire burn equally as hot as your embarrassment. The video ends, and Patrick stops auto play.
“Art, that shit is so fucking boring.” It snaps your attention from the paused screen over to him, who seems completely unaffected. You might actually believe he was unaffected if he wasn’t visibly hard.
You peer over at Patrick curiously. “What do you watch?”
He smiles, like he’d been waiting for you to ask, and grabs the laptop. Art makes a weak complaint that Patrick is going to fuck up his recommendations, but is ignored. Patrick logs in to an account and opens a tab for liked and saved videos.
Oh. You lean forward for a better look, expression twisting between shock and interest and confusion and disgust. Patrick’s tastes vary widely— venturing into areas you hadn’t even known were sexual. It’s like he had thrown everything at the wall to see what would stick, and everything just stuck.
“Oh my god, Patrick,” Art mutters, equally as intrigued as you are. “What the fuck, dude.” Art steals the laptop, scrolling through thumbnails of feet and anal and gangbangs and piss and bdsm dungeons and girls in stupid fucking schoolgirl costumes.
Patrick grabs the laptop back roughly, scrolls and clicks. “This one’s good, it’s perfect for when you just want to cum fast. Art, I know you don’t have that problem.”
Art flips him off and looks at the screen, reading the title aloud. “One hour squirting and cumshot compilation. Could you be any grosser?”
“Yes, actually. Sorry I don’t watch your sweet lovemaking bullshit.” Patrick shoves him, then Art shoves him back, and suddenly the laptop is on the floor in front of you and you’re just watching while they squabble on either side of you.
The video is exactly as described— it skips all of the pretense, all of the build up. It’s just people cumming, over and over and over. Your body feels like a live wire as you watch, lit up all over.
You squeeze your thighs together, conscious of the heat and wetness between them. Patrick clocks it— of course he does. A smirk plays at his lips.
“Maybe it’s not so disgusting, Art. She likes it.” Patrick relishes in the hazy, innocent look in your eyes as you meet his gaze. Relishes in the embarrassment and the need. “It’s good, huh? Getting to watch?”
You nod and Patrick takes your hand, slips it beneath the waistband of your shorts. “Go ahead. You want to.”
You shiver, temptation itching down to your fingertips. Sensing your hesitation, Patrick spits into his hand, slips it into his own shorts. You manage to hold out a few more seconds before you let your fingers brush over your clit.
“C’mon Art, don’t be a fucking creep,” Patrick says, moaning as he works his fist faster. Art swears under his breath and quickly shoves his own hand into his boxers.
You’re all so close, bodies pressed together hot and firm. You can feel the way their bodies move with each stroke, the way their thighs tense as they instinctually buck into their fists.
You moan, head falling against Art’s shoulder. His hand splays against you, inches up, brushing against the underside of your tit. It makes you whimper.
Patrick grabs your face, redirects your attention back to the screen. “Keep watching, it’s getting good.” His voice is strained, affected.
He usually lasts longer than this when he’s in your hand or your mouth, but maybe the video really was that good. Surely it didn’t have anything to do with you, panting and writhing as you rubbed at your clit beside him.
For once, Patrick cums first— doubling over, groaning muffled into your hair. Then it’s Art, whining so pretty, pulling you closer, mouthing at your shoulder as he comes down. And then you, overwhelmed by the two boys on either side of you, cumming with a rush of wetness that ruins your already soaked panties.
You sit there panting as the video continues playing— obscene wet, lewd sounds, wanton moans. Art hits stop, shuts the laptop and kicks it away.
You wonder why every time you hang out with them, it always seemed to end like this. And you wonder why you don’t mind, not even a little bit.

Pairing: Dean x Reader
Request: So excited you're back! Can I request a protective/jealous!Dean x reader fic with an established relationship? Vibes of "don't touch her" would be much appreciated 😅
Summary: A fun night out at the bar takes a turn for the worse when a handsy patron approaches the reader.
Word Count: 1,928
Warning: Descriptions of violence & self defense related injuries. Cussing, if that bothers you.

Tumblr media
A/N: Years ago I went to a gym with my dad and the trainer/owner, this HUGE muscle head and really sweet man, gave me a free self defense class, which I still keep in mind to this day and peppered into this story.
And Happy New Year's y'all!
Tumblr media
You lean against Dean as you take a sip of your beer, Dean's hand resting against your waist as you both politely listen to Sam as he shares a new piece of lore he learned during your latest hunt. You nod along, slightly intrigued with what Sam's found, but really wishing he could have saved the shop-talk for a time you weren't trying to unwind. Your body was still sore from the arachne fight, and you could use a break from all things hunting, even if it was just for a night. You can't see Dean's face from your vantage point, but if you had to guess, your boyfriend was likely staring his brother down with a straight face hoping he'll shut up.
You tip your bottle back again, but are disappointed when only a few drops trickle out. You give the bottle a little shake as you look through the brown glass, confirming with yourself that it was in fact empty.
You place the bottle down and step away from Dean, his hand falling from your waist. At the movement, Dean looks down at you and frowns.
"Be right back, need a new beer." You tap the glass as your straighten up from the high-top table. "Anyone need anything?"
Both brothers shake their heads and you make your way over to the bar, thankful for a break from the earful of arachne lore.
It's a fairly busy evening for Wednesday night, most tables occupied and the bar itself swimming with patrons. Luckily, you eye an opening just big enough for you to squeeze into and you step into the space. After a few moments, one of the bartender spots you as you rest your hands against the slightly sticky bar top and gives you a nod as he pours a blue liquor into a cocktail shaker.
You purse your lips as you look around the room, the crowd mostly older, with a few twenty-somethings mixed in. It seemed to be the only bar in town when you had Google Maps a spot earlier, so you weren't surprise that this seemed to be the local's go-to pub.
Your gaze falls back to the bar, taking in the bottle labels on the tiered shelves as your nails tap against the wood beneath them.
Jameson. Crown Royal. Bacardi. Bacardi Tropical. That's a new one.
A man brushes besides you as he steps into the very small space that had been open on your right. You look up at him and frown, quietly expressing your annoyance at the invasion of your person space. You get it's crowded, but the guy could have just waited behind you or someone else until a space opened up.
Rude much.
But rather than be turned off by your vexed welcome, the man just smiles down at you.
You huff and roll your eyes, looking for the bartender, his back to you as he appears to be serving two cocktails to a pair of older women.
"Can I buy you a drink?" The man next to you raises his voice over the noise of the crowd, leaning in towards you to make sure his question is heard.
His smile is still plastered over his pale face, his blonde hair shaggy over his forehead. You just glare up at him, your annoyance growing as it appears the man is incapable of reading social cues.
You see the bartender approach you, and you turn your shoulder away, squaring yourself up to the bar.
"Just a Bud Light, bottle, please." The bartender nods at you and turns to squats down at the fridge casing all the bottles.
"How about a name?" Warm breath tickles your ear, and your shoulder scrunches up at the sudden closeness as your stomach tightens.
The bartender places the beer back in front of you and asks a question with his eyes.
"The Winchester tab, thanks." The guy nods and and punches the drink into the POS.
You turn to walk away when that pestering voice calls out again.
"Winchester, huh?" You take a deep breath and turn to face the thorn in your side. "How about a first name?" His elbow leans against the bar and his eyebrow is raised at you. His grey t-shirt stretches across his chest at his position and he continues to smile at you.
He's looks like the poster boy for punchable assholes.
"Since you seem to be too dumb to figure it out on your own, let me spell it out for you." You smile tightly at him. "I'm not fucking interested." You feel your eyes crinkle along the edges as your lips tighten.
Finally, his smile falls, and he straightens up.
"Cunt," he spits.
Ah, there it is.
"You know it." Your forehead rises as you raise your beer and take a drink before turning on your heel.
As you approach your table, Dean is standing at attention, his jaw tight.
"All good?" You come alongside him, your shoulders brushing.
You look up at him and smile, genuinely.
You weren't surprised he was watching the interaction. Dean usually had his eye on you if you weren't by his side. You weren't sure if he knew that you knew he was always watching. When you first started dating, it had bothered you. It made you feel like Dean thought you couldn't handle yourself. But the more Dean opened up to you, you realized that it was just a part of Dean he was never going to shake; he had to know that his loved ones were safe, no matter where they were. A lifetime of losing everyone you've ever loved will do that to a man.
"Nothing I can't handle." You bump his shoulder and his body relaxes with a sigh. His jaw loosens and his smile returns as he throws his arm around your shoulder and pulls you into his side.
Tumblr media
Another two beers later, ones that Dean insisted he get, your bladder was uncomfortably full, and you excused yourself to the bathroom.
The bathroom was in the very back of the bar away from the crowds, and as you washed your hands, you took a moment to appreciate the quietnesses. You loved bars and going out drinking with Sam and Dean; it was one of the few normal things you did in your lives. But it was nice to take a break from the noise and masses to reset before you threw yourself back out there.
After drying your hands, you take a moment to readjust your ponytail, a few hairs having gone astray from Dean's hand playing at the nape of your neck.
You shake your head at the thought with a smile.
Once you're all set, you exit the restroom, your eyes looking down the narrow and dimmed corridor when a hand wraps around your bicep and twirls you around.
You smile at the movement until your back is thrown against the wall, your head bouncing off the wood on the impact.
Before your vision catches up with the rest of you, you already know whose body heat is radiating in front of you; not your boyfriend, sneaking up on you for a private make-out session, but a scumbag barfly who had been harassing you early.
"Maybe next time you won't be such a bitch," whiskey wafts over you. Your nose scrunches and you turn your head away from the smell, but fingers wrap around your chin forcing you to look into his dark eyes, his pupils dilated and eyes wildly jumping back and forth as an elbow lands heavy on your windpipe.
You glare at him, your heart rate calming as you take a breath.
This asshole has no idea who he was dealing with.
"And hopefully this time you'll learn your lesson," you wheeze out as his elbow digs into your throat, restricting your breath.
He cocks his head at you and before he can react, your right hand flies to his fingers wrapped around your chin and you grasp his thumb. With a swift surety, you snap his thumb back with a sickening crack. A howl leaves his throat as his hand and arm fall away from your body. He begins to back away, his eyes looking at his broken thumb in horror, but you grab onto his shoulders, driving his body back to yours as you ram your knee into his crotch, nothing but a strangled cry and a lone tear in his eye as his knees hit the ground and he doubles over.
Your chest in heaving as you look down at the pathetic man in front of you; his good hand holding his bruised boys and his mangled hand cradled against his chest.
"Y/N!" A familiar voice echoes down the hallway. You turn towards the shadow racing towards you, and Dean is illuminated in the dim light above you as he reaches your side.
"What the fuck happened?" His forehead is wrinkled as he takes in the battered man in front of him.
"Like I said," you glance toward the pathetic excuse of a man whimpering on the ground. "Nothing I can't handle."
Dean's eyes find yours before they quickly scan over your face, then your body, making sure you were actually okay.
"C'mon," his hand lands gently on the same bicep that had been grabbed just a few seconds ago. "Let's get out of here."
You and Dean turn away but a rasped voice calls out to you.
"You psycho bitch! You'll get yours."
You just shake your head and continue your way back to the table, but Dean stops beside you.
"Dean," you say in a low warning. His head glances back slightly over his shoulder.
"What'd you say, douchebag?" Dean ignores you as he turns around and you reach out to him, though he brushes you off as he stalks towards the man picking himself off from the dirty bar floor.
His eyes find Dean, and he squares his jaw.
"I said," the man rolls his shoulders back. "Your girl's a fucking psycho and I'm pressing charges."
You're a step behind Dean, and before you can reach out and stop him, Dean's got the man pinned against the wall, holding him up by his t-shirt that looks like its about to rip.
"Press this, dick," Dean growls as his fist whips into the guy's nose. Blood spews as Dean drops him and he crumbles to the ground, tears now streaming down his cheeks, mixing with the gruesome stream flowing over his lips.
Dean squats down the the man's level, his finger his in the man's face.
"Touch her again, and there will be no one to press charges, capeesh?" Even without knowing Dean, anyone with a brain could tell it wasn't a question.
"Fuck you guys!" Blood sprays as the man yells.
Dean just rolls his eyes and stands up, taking one large step to your side.
"How about we call it a night?" Dean smirks down at you, unaware of the splatter on his flannel as he throws an arm around your shoulder.
"Sounds like a plan to me." You arm wraps around Dean's waist, your fingers only reaching the far side of his back as you smile up at him.
The two of you take a few synchronized steps before Dean glances over his shoulder again. You watch him closely before his eye face forward, a proud smile on his face.
Dean's elbow closes around your head as he pulls you into him, his lips pressing against your temple.
"Nice job, sweetheart."
Tumblr media
A/N: Sorry, I really wanted to have a badass reader with Dean coming in for assistance vs. Dean coming to save the day. Figure if the reader's a hunter, she can definitely handle a handsy guy on her own. Protective!Dean is just a bonus. Hope you enjoyed, anon!

Gendrya Kinktober 2023 Day 12: Food Play
“What are you doing?” Sansa’s judgmental voice came from behind, and Arya slammed the fridge shut in surprise.
“What do you mean what am I doing?” Arya replied defensively, crossing her arms over her bra, glad she’d had the presence of mind to toss on Gendry’s old sweatpants before heading downstairs to the kitchen, but she was also keenly aware his sports team name was printed down one of the legs.
It was dark, and the kitchen was only illuminated by a chandelier hung from the vaulted ceiling, the soft lighting catching on the sparkles of Sansa’s party dress.
“You’re fucking him! I knew it.”
“Last I checked, that was none of your business,” Arya said, setting the can of whipped cream down on the marble countertop, as if it was to blame for her embarrassment.
Sansa’s shoulders visibly dropped and she went to fill up her glass. “You’re right. You’re right. I’m worried about you though. If you were dating, you’d have told me by now, but it’s clear it’s more than just fooling around.”
Where in Westeros had that come from? “No it’s not,” Arya insisted, leaning into the doorframe. “We literally just made a list of kinks to try because we were curious.”
“Really?” Sansa grinned, taking a drink of water.
“Yeah, we’re calling it the Fuck-It List.”
Sansa immediately started coughing and erupted into stilted giggles.
“You’re a genius, you know that?” She picked up the forgotten can off the counter and held it out to Arya, her brows furrowing. “I can tell you like him, though. And he looks like he’s half in love with you.” Arya started to protest, but Sansa shook her head. “Just be careful.”
Her sister’s words hung over her head as she brought the whipped cream back to Gendry’s room. They were just friends. Friends who knew each other’s bodies inside and out, but only that. It was what they’d agreed on, wasn’t it? Besides, when they graduated in a little over a year, they’d probably never even see each other again.
The door creaked louder than Arya expected, and she jumped a little at the sound of it, still on edge.
“I come bearing gifts,” she said, trying to sound lighter than she felt.
Gendry smirked when he spotted the can. “I see you brought whipped cream too.” But then he saw her face. “You OK?”
“I ran into my sister in the kitchen. She knows.”
“Oh. You good with that?”
Arya shrugged. “She won’t tell anyone else, so it is what it is at least.”
“I guess you don’t have to try to sneak back to your room in the morning, then.” Gendry walked over and took the can out of her frozen hands.
Arya looked up into his blue eyes, which were shining with desire and something else, something tender.
There was only one thing for it. Arya pulled his head down to hers, and fell into the kiss.
This was, as it always was, merely about crossing something off the list, and the sound of the cream covering her cleavage echoed that.
Gendry pulled down the straps of her bra to lick up the mess he made, and the attention he gave to her nipples made another mess he needed to clean up. But first, he had to get her naked and spread out on the bed.
Whipped cream made a trail all the way down her torso, and Gendry followed it down to her cunt.
“Next time, we’ll have to do this with hot fudge.”
Arya laughed. “Add it to the list.”
The rest of the night, her pussy was full, and her mind was empty.

12 and 19 for the ask game!
12. Crack headcanon
Well, I have this whole thing in my head about the Holy Foreskin (an actual relic from the Middle Ages, although whether it was actually Jesus' penis skin is somewhat debatable) in Camelot which I am going to make into a fic one day. It's on display in the church; Merlin senses magic and doesn't trust it to not be something intended to harm Arthur. The magic is a fertility spell and mucking about with it gives him and Arthur magical boners that won't quit.
19. Vices/bad habits
Gwaine obviously has all the vices; drinking, gambling, selling himself for more drinking/gambling, money, etc., but he does it with so much flair no one stages an intervention or puts him in the medieval equivalent of AA.
Merlin bites his fingernails and is a pig. He's a little better about it now after having to pick up after Arthur, also a pig, and realizing what an annoying, disgusting way it is to live.
Arthur doesn't have any true vices because they would disappoint Uther. He does throw his clothes down absolutely everywhere, though, and in the 21st century he would be the roommate who finished the milk and put the empty carton back in the fridge.
Gwen procrastinates a lot because she's anxious.
Morgana is very judgemental, but in her defense, she's usually right.
Leon's worst habit, as far as he's concerned, is constantly accidentally catching Merlin and Arthur in compromising situations.
Lancelot is also a fingernail biter and second guesses everything he's ever said or done in his entire life.
Gaius is definitely an alcoholic. He wasn't before Merlin came to Camelot, but now he's the guy on his second drink at 8:00 in the morning defending himself with, 'It's 5:00 somewhere!'

𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥 (𝐊𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢 𝐀𝐤𝐚𝐧𝐞'𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝟑 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐚)
Tumblr media
Akane: You look like shit.
Haruto: You could say that.
Akane: What? Is being a guard too stressful for you?
Haruto: Its stressful, but nothing I can't handle.
Akane: Sure.
Haruto: Anyway, Ichi-kun says he can hear his victim crying all across the prison, so I was wondering if its the same for you?
Akane: No, I haven't heard anything from him since his first day here. He doesn't bother yelling until he sees me anyway.
Haruto: I see. Speaking of Ichiro, you've been getting along well with him lately. That's good.
Akane: Uh, yeah.
Haruto: What brought this change about? You struck me as the type to look out for yourself.
Akane: Ah, I dunno. He just started following me around one day. I didn't mind, so I let him.
Haruto: How do you feel about him?
Akane: What kind of question is that?
Haruto: Just curious.
Akane: Uh. I guess he's cute in a way. I wouldn't want him to get hurt.
Haruto: Could you say the same about yourself?
Akane: Huh?
Haruto: How do you feel about yourself?
Akane: Well, I'm...me?
Haruto: You would do anything to protect yourself, right?
Akane: I guess...? What are you trying to get at?
Haruto: Your motive for your crime.
Akane: I already told you, my father was a useless drunk.
Haruto: I always thought you killed out of self-defense, but was that really the case?
Akane: Does this mean you're voting me guilty?
Haruto: Were you in danger when you killed him?
Akane: O-Oi!
Haruto: Answer the question.
Akane: I was really angry, okay?
Haruto: Why, what did he do?
Akane: I just received my paycheck for the month and he asked for half of it.
Haruto: Was that the first time he did that?
Akane: No.
Haruto: So shouldn't you be used to it?
Akane: I HAD ENOUGH OF HIS SHIT, OKAY?!!
Haruto: What about that day in particular made you kill him?
Akane: It- It just happened. I was really angry. It spilled over.
Haruto: If you could go back in time and retain all of your knowledge, would you kill him again?
Akane: I... I don't know. He's still the same piece of shit so-
Haruto: But you've changed.
Akane: I- I don't want to go back. I'm trying to be a good person. If I go back to that shitty life, I'll return to being scared and angry all the time and everything will go wrong again-
Haruto: Calm down. I'm just asking a hypothetical question.
Akane: ...Right.
[Bell rings, mechanical sounds in the back.]
Haruto: Let's see if you have any surprises for me.
Akane: I've been telling you the truth the whole time.
Haruto: Hmpf. Prisoner 002, sing your sins!
[MV description - (Don't) look at me]
"Where did it all go wrong? Probably from the start. Children tend to make their way through life blissfully unaware. If only my eyes were opened later."
The MV starts with a younger Akane walking with her back facing the camera, hand in hand with her father and mother. She smiles, looking up at her mom, and then her father. She's wearing a backpack as she walks. A school comes into view with other kids making their way in. Turns out its her first day of kindergarten.
"With a tick tock drone, time drags me along with it. Adults and children live different lives. My body isn't catching up fast enough."
The camera cuts to a teenage Akane sitting by her dining table. A closeup of the table reveals several overdue rent notices and empty beer cans. Her father lies asleep on the couch in the living room. She counts through a stack of bills in her hand. A shot of a calendar on the wall reveals that its the start of the month.
"Filial piety is a virtue. They made you, its only fair that you repay them. Screw that! At this rate, I'm starting to wish I was never born."
Akane takes out a container of leftover fried rice from the fridge and heats it up in a microwave. The calendar shows that its the seventh day of the month. There's a new bandage on her cheek. She takes half of the food onto her plate and leaves the rest on the dining table. She then retreats into her room.
"A world that keeps spinning without me. I'll curse it. Open your eyes and look at me. (Don't look at me.) Look at me. Open your eyes and see."
A montage ensues as the chorus starts. Akane attending school. Working at the café. Receiving her paycheck. Being pulled by the hair by her classmates. Walking home in the rain. Sorting through the bills. Eating ice cream in the convenience store. Getting hit across the face. The calendar is present throughout the montage at a lower opacity, pages flying off to show that three years have passed.
"You disgust me. Don't even make me look at you. What I remember about mom, I really loved her."
The song stops playing. Crickets chirp in the background. Akane and her father sit opposite each other by the dining table. He tears up slowly and says: "I loved her too."
"A world that keeps spinning without me. I'll curse it. Open your eyes and look at me. (Don't look at me.) Look at me. Open your eyes and see."
Akane stands by the sink, scrubbing the dishes. She stares blankly ahead of her. Her fist clenches harder around the sponge, squeezing out more bubbles. Back and forth. She scrubs faster and harder. Back and forth. Back and forth. Its the thirty first day of the month.
"Children lie to get out of trouble. Adults aren't so different. You disgust me. Don't even make me look at you."
Its the first day of the month. A reply of the last scene of Testimony where Akane's father takes half of her salary. She grabs the beer bottle and stalks after him. The camera switches to her point of view as she steps closer to him in the hallway. The camera cuts off before the bottle makes contact with his head.
"An unchanging testimony, I always tell the truth. All you have to do is open your eyes and look at me. (Don't look at me.)"
A teenage Akane walks with her back to the camera, carrying a backpack. She's alone this time. A school comes into view with other teenagers walking in. Turns out its her first day of high school.

A rich man with a spoiled cat.
Phic Phight 2023
prompt by @purpleruletheomiverse
Vlad goes to absurd lengths to spoil his cat.
“Oh butterscotch!” Vlad snarled as he slammed down the phone. Six! That had been the sixth supplier who could not provide him with his dear Maddie’s preferred food.
“Look at you!” He whipped his torso around and gestured emphatically at the chair in his home office. “You’re wasting away!”
The fluffy white cat sitting in his office chair was most definitely not wasting away but the look on her face could melt the frostiest of hearts.
‘Manipulative little shit,’ Vlad thought to himself, but he couldn’t help but give in to her plaintive meows.
You see, Vlad’s cat’s preferred snack is a rare fish that can only be caught at certain times of year at a certain place by certain permitted people in certain amounts. It’s hideously expensive. And the stock he had stashed away in the high school’s freezer had met with an unfortunate incident earlier in the week. In retrospect, perhaps it had been unwise to use the high school’s freezers instead of just purchasing one for his home. At the time had seemed silly to have a freezer just for his cat’s food.
Of course, expense would typically be no issue for Vlad. Unfortunately all exports from this particular place were banned. For political reasons.
“War crimes, pah!”
Vlad had not yet found a way to overshadow people over the phone, and all legal attempts at procuring this delicacy had been unsuccessful. Oh well. It’s not as if he was unused to less than legal tactics. With that in mind, he began to dial the number of a man who owed him a favor.
. . .
“Hey, Danny, Vlad’s been really quite lately, hasn’t he?” Tucker asked. It was lunchtime at Casper High, where he and Sam were poking unenthusiastically at their school lunches.
“I guess?” Danny said. In contrast to the others, he was shoveling the food down like he hadn’t eaten in three days and he was worried the food would come back to life and run away.
“Oh, he’s so up to something.” Sam said as she stabbed her wilting salad viciously with a plastic spork. She had no reason to believe Vlad was up to anything at all, but she had to direct her anger somewhere. She was a bit irate at having to eat the school lunch, her well balanced and delicious vegan meal having been rendered inedible from surprise ectocontamination. Their most recent altercation with the Lunchlady had been two weeks ago, but they’d apparently forgotten to clean the fridge made available for lunches students brought from home.
“I mean, for real though.” Tucker continued. “He’s invited some random rich guy from overseas to visit. Giving him a tour of the city, acting all deferential and stuff.”
“So why worry?”
“Because if Vlad is trying to suck up to someone, it’s because he wants something.” Sam pointed out.
“Also because rich people are evil?” Tucker asked.
“I didn’t say that!”
“You didn’t not say that.” Danny teased.
“To be fair, if he’s rich he’s probably evil. Aaaand, if he’s consorting with Vlad he’s definitely evil.”
“Consorting. Using SAT words now Tuck?”
“Guys, can we focus on the issue at hand?”
“Chill Sam, I’ll look more into him later. I just wanted to give you a heads up before we get distracted by that big test on Friday. “
“Maybe Danny can do a fly by of Vlad’s mansion later?”
Danny sighs. “Just what I wanted to do with my Tuesday night, get shot at by Vlad's automated defenses.” He stands up to throw away his trash. The other’s follow him, giving up on their still half full trays.
“It’s a change of pace from being shot at by your parent’s automated defenses?”
“Thanks, Tuck, that makes me feel so much better,” Danny deadpanned as he put his empty tray on the stack by the trashcan. He paused. “Wait, test?”
. . .
“I got a name,” Danny heard Tucker say through the Fenton phones as he hovered over Vlad’s mansion, just out of range of the estates automated defenses. “Ivan Petrovich, Russian businessman, shady as hell, works mostly in exports of… fish?”
“Fish?” Danny repeated.
“Hyperensis Flencheska, also known as the Vologda speckled white fish. Very expensive.”
“Also very endangered.” Sam said. “I shouldn’t be surprised Vlad would stoop so low.”
“Do these fish have any ectoplasmic properties? Are we looking at another blood blossom situation? Am I going to br shitting my brains out from tainted paella?”
“Ew and no, it doesn’t look like it. Apparently its a delicacy though, very tasty.”
“Don’t even think about it Tucker.” Sam said. “Oh I am going to nail Vlad’s ass to the wall for this.” Danny didn’t respond to the glee in her voice. He didn’t have time.
“Ow, fuck!” He said as he felt the sting of an ectoray on his arm. He’d drifted too low in his hovering and set off Vlad’s security system. Cursing, he fled into the city to run a quick patrol. If Vlad wasn’t up to something that would hurt him or his loved ones, he felt safe to leave him to Sam’s tender mercies.

Tumblr media
“Did you hear me?” Stacy asked you.
“Huh?” you snapped your head back to her completely unsure of what she said.
You two were hanging around the pool soaking in the sun. It was summer and your college classes didn’t start for another six weeks. You’ve been spending your summer with Stacy and her mom at her beach/fucking big ass mansion in California.
Stacy’s mom worked as an architect or something back home in New York with Stark Industries so to say they were rich would be a huge understatement. She was practically a billionaire like the owner himself. Also the most gorgeous woman you’ve ever laid your eyes on. You’ve had a crush on her since the day you met her back home in New York.
“I asked if you wanted to order pizza? We can get something else but I’m not cooking without my mom,” she giggled.
The day that Stacy’s mom went back to New York for a business trip you guys attempted to make pancakes. Fucking pancakes. And almost burned down the house. Everyday since, you guys have been buying and ordering delivery on everything; she had the money so.
“Oh sure that’s cool. Maybe we can go pick up some beer too?” you suggested.
“I like the way you think, Y/l/n,” Stacy said, pulling out her phone.
You laid back down letting the sun warm your skin before you turned your head back to Stacy.
“When is your mom coming back?”
“Um, I’m not sure but probably sometime this weekend, she shouldn’t have been gone that long. Why? You miss her? Like her more than me?” Stacy jokes, making you flush and get defensive.
“What? No, I was just asking,” you told her.
“Hey, relax I’m just messing with ya,” she laughed.
You breathed out heavily and tried to distract your thoughts but you weren’t doing a good job as you instantly started thinking about Stacy’s mom. Goddammit. You two went inside and heard a knock on the big glass front door and Stacy ran to get the door. The pizza is probably here.
You went ahead to the guest room you occupied and instantly took a cold shower. You were sweaty and overheated from sunbathing not from the insensitive thoughts about Stacy’s mom bending you over the side of the pool as she pumped her fingers in and out of you whispering the filthiest things in your ear, definitely not from that.
You came out and the smell of greasy pizza overcame you. You walked into the kitchen finding the pizza sitting on the counter and you walked over to grab your slice. You stuff the slice in your mouth before turning to grab a beer from the fridge. You grabbed the beer and shut the fridge door only to be completely taken by surprise.
“Got enough for one more gal?” your eyes widen and your breath hitched making you almost choke on the pizza still stuffed in your mouth. You pulled the pizza out and chewed rapidly as her gorgeous smile widened at your flustered state.
“Miss Romanoff, you’re back,” you said, your mouth still full.
“Yup, just got back,” she nodded towards the baggage piled by the living room couch.
“Cool,” you swallowed audibly.
“Mom! You’re back,” Stacy came in; thankfully.
“Hi hon. You two holding up with delivery and junk?” she joked nodding towards the pizza on the counter and in your hand along with the beer.
“Hey, we tried to cook something but we almost burnt the house down so we just gave up,” Stacy explained, grabbing a greasy slice of pizza.
“Ugh, you girls need to learn how to cook. This stuff isn’t good for you to have all day everyday.”
“Well, if you hadn’t left us,” Stacy said sarcastically with a mocking grin.
“Trust me, I didn’t want to,” she said, looking at you.
A few hours had passed and you sat in the living room watching movies with Stacy and her mom. The movie was quite scary since those were Stacy’s favorite and during a particular quiet and suspenseful scene your stomach growled embarrassingly loud causing both of the women to snap their heads to you.
“I- I’m so sorry, I’m really hungry,” you mumbled shyly.
“Lemme order something,” Stacy said, grabbing her phone.
“No, no, no. you girls are done with the takeout. Come on; go wash your hands. We’re gonna cook something together.”
You and Stacy stood at the counter covered in flour tiredly kneading dough with your hands. Stacy’s mom grew up in Russia and she wanted to teach you guys how to make her favorite dish that her mom always made for her for lazy summer nights just like this one.
“Ugh, my hands hurt,” Stacy complained.
“That means you're doing it right,” her mom snickered.
She came up behind you closer than you’d like peering over your shoulder like a vulture. She rested her hand on either side of you cagin you in, pressing against the counter suggestively. You breathing quicken and you could feel her breath fanning over your shoulder and chills erupted all over your skin.
“You doing alright?” she asked you, of which you silently nodded afraid that your voice would betray you embarrassingly in front of her and her daughter.
“Good girl,” she whispered, squeezing your hip making you jolt.
“You good?” Stacy chuckled.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” you said sneaking a glance at Stacy’s mom who carried mischief in her eyes.
You continued to slowly but surely make your dinner for the night until suddenly the doorbell rang and echoed across the gigantic house.
“Expecting company, you two?” Stacy’s mom asked.
“Not that we know of?” Stacy said wiping her hand on her apron before scurrying to the front door.
“You’re doing so good, Y/n,” Stacy’s mom teased.
“Th- Thank you,” you mumbled timidly.
“Of course. Anytime, hon,” she whispered getting closer to you.
“Miss Romanoff,” you whispered, turning your head.
“Yeah?” she smiled softly, her lips impossibly close to yours.
“I- uh, you’re-”
“What are you guys doing?” Stacy asked.
“Y/n’s got something in her eye; poor thing,” she said and you instantly started blinking quickly and rubbing your eye, feigning that uncomfortable feeling.
“Oh no, do you need eye drops?” Stacy asked sincerely, guess she bought it.
“No, I think I’m ok,” you told her quickly.
That’s when you actually registered your surroundings again after being suffocated by Stacy’s mom’s perfume and lusting atmosphere. God, you want this woman to fuck you so badly.
“What’re you doing here?” Stacy’s mom asked in her usual playful manner.
“Well, I wanted to surprise Stacy by taking her to a weekend getaway in Malibu; had I known you had guests. I don’t mean to exclude you,” Jason, Satcy’s boyfriend arrived without notice.
“Oh, it’s ok. I’ve been here all summer. You should go; spend some summertime with your boyfriend for a bit,” you smiled at Stacy.
“Really? I don’t want to leave you all alone,” Stacy said.
“She won't be alone; she’ll be with me,” Stacy’s mom said smirking at you; she pressed her hand to your lower back making you stiffen.
“Think you can handle my mom for the entire weekend alone?” Stacy said laughing but you weren’t.
“Can you?” her mom teased.
“I’ll try,” you said shakily. You were not ready.
“Ok, ok. Let me go pack,” Stacy said, turning to Jason excitedly.
Jason followed in pursuit hot on her heels leaving you alone for a moment with her mom. She caged you in her arms as she did before, pressing her hips flushed against your bottom. You gasped softly feeling her cold hands riding up your back under your shirt.
“Miss Romanoff,” you choked.
“Nat; we’re close, aren’t we?” she whispered in your ear.
“What are you doing?” you felt her nails lightly scratching your back making you shudder.
“We’re gonna have the whole weekend to ourselves, hon,” she smirked devilishly.
“Fuck,” you breathed out when her hands brushed to your front, her thumbs grazing the bottom of your breasts.
“Ok, all ready; I think,” you heard Stacy and her boyfriend coming down the stairs. Nat, pushed her herself off you and walked over to her daughter and her boyfriend, swaying her hips just a little bit more than usual knowing you’d kept your eyes subtly trained on them.
“Have fun you two. We’ll see you guys Monday?”
“Monday night,” Jason said.
“Bye mom. Bye, Y/n.”
You waved them off with a small smile, your stomach doing flips anticipated what the hell this woman had in store for you. If she was even going to lay a hand on you, you had no fucking idea. You just stay still, absolutely unmoving, behind the counter.
“Alright, hon. Let’s finish this dinner,” Nat said, turning to you.
Throughout finishing cooking, Nat kept her hands to herself but that didn’t mean she stopped teasing you. Every time you did something correctly, she whispered praises to you that made you wet, arousal pooling between your thighs uncontrollably.
You sat at the counter next to her quietly eating what you made with her help. She watched you carefully to see if you’d like the food and you weren’t going to lie, the food was amazing.
“You did it all by yourself, малышка. Such a good girl you are,” she whispered making you tremble. She picked up your empty plate and carried it to the sink. You sat still in your seat before Nat came up behind, moving your hair from your shoulder and neck. She leaned down and pressed her lips lightly against your burning skin.
“Miss Romanoff,” you said suddenly standing abruptly.
“Yes, hon,” she said.
“W- we, we can’t-” you heavily stuttered.
“Ok,” she responded.
“Wh- what?”
“Ok; I’m sorry,” she stepped away from you. You don’t know why you were so surprised, you literally told her to stop.
“Ok,” you whispered.
“Good night, hon,” she said walking away.
When she was out of sight you huffed deeply feeling like you could finally breathe normally again. You trotted hastily upstairs seeing as Nat was seemingly in her room. You walked up to her door cautiously, light peering from under the door; reaching for the handle but ultimately shied away thinking about the fact that she was your best friend’s mother.
“Fuck, this is wrong,” you said to yourself frustratingly.
You went to your own room closing the door as quietly as possible. You tried to occupy your mind as best as you could running a shower, brushing your teeth, even re-folding your clothes that were already tucked neatly in your drawers. You couldn't shake the feeling of the way her lips felt against your skin.
You were so desperate to be in that position again and Stacy’s out of the house; the opportunity was perfect but of course you cowarded away running off to your room lying to yourself that you didn’t desperately want to spend the night in her bed.
You looked at the time and saw that it was around ten at night deciding it was late enough to hit the sheets; not the ones you want but whatever at point honestly. That proved to be a huge struggle as you tossed and turned for hours. Everytime you close your eyes you're met with those beautiful emerald green eyes that you find yourself getting lost in everytime you see them.
“Ugh, shit,” you groaned, unable to sleep.
You stood up abruptly throwing your sheets to the floor paying no mind to the mess you made. You swung the door open and stomped to her room. You were furious that this woman, who clearly didn’t do anything, was keeping from sleeping peacefully as you had been in the previous nights.
You stood silently in front of her door breathing heavily. What were you thinking? What were you gonna do; yell at this poor woman who didn't do anything? But she did. She kissed you.
“Are you gonna stand out there like a creep or are you gonna let yourself in?” her muffled voice came from beyond the door and your eyes widened.
You hastily turned the knob to her door finding her resting beautifully in the golden dimmed light on her large white bed; the sheets so fluffy she looked like an angel resting on a cloud. She had a book in hand, it was Russian so you couldn’t understand the words. But nevermind that, you stood in front of the closed door with an angry expression on your face.
“Now what’s got your panties in a twist, hon?” she asked, a smirk playing on her naturally red lips.
“You,” you retorted.
“And what do you want me to do about those panties?” she closed her book, setting it on her night stand. God, why did she say it like that?
“I can’t sleep.”
“Why’s that?” she knows why; she’s got you wrapped around her dainty little finger.
“You kissed me,” you said quickly.
“Uh, correction. I kissed your neck,” she swung her legs over the edge of the bed to stand up.
“You- you, you put your hands on me. And- and, and you stopped.”
“Because you said to,” she walked up to you, making your stomach flip.
“I didn’t really mean it,” you whispered shyly.
“Really?” she whispered back.
“Do you want me to put my hands on you again?” she asked seductively.
You hesitated refusing to look her in those perfect green eyes because you know you fall when you do.
“Look at me and use those big girl words,” she whispered, her breath fanning across your face.
“Please,” you whimpered.
“Please what?” she teased.
You looked up at her letting out a shaky breath. You were about to pass the point of no return and looking into those hypnotizing sage eyes you wanted nothing more than to let her have her way with you.
“Please kiss me,” you whimpered.
Nat grabbed the back of your neck and pulled you flushed against her body kissing you feverishly. Your eyes fluttered closed, moving your lips with hers. Her hands ran up under your shirt ghosting your skin making your skin burst into chills. You practically trembled under her cold hands.
“Красотка,” she whispered against your lips.
“Huh?’ you mumbled dazed and confused by the sudden change of dialect; that was very hot keep in mind.
“абсолютно очаровательны,” she chuckled.
“Wha-?” you stuttered. What the fuck just happened?
She lifted her hands up your body as did you, lifting you shirt off your body. She practically growled at the sight of your breasts. She leaned down, licking along the valley of your breasts peering up at you with those big eyes you loved so much.
She kneeled to the ground pulling your pajama bottoms down your legs torturously slowly. You wiggled your knees back and forth whining at her teasing but she simply nipped and kissed your legs chuckling at your eagerness. She rubbed your legs softly standing up and rested her hands on your hips.
“You are so beautiful,” she tucked a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Thank you,” you said timidly.
“Come here, Красотка,” you followed her to the bed and you excitedly crawled to the center. Nat stayed standing smirking at your hypnotized expression as she peeled her shirt off her body and dragged her shorts and panties down her legs. She crawled to you with a playful smile on her lips and sat directly in front of you.
You grinned climbing onto her lap kissing her softly. Her hands ran lightly up your back as her lips moved smoothly against yours. You could feel her perky nipples brushing yours pulling soft moans from you. Her hand made its way into your hair tugging the strands to pull your head back. Her lips instantly falling to the skin of your neck sucking marking you as hers. Your breathing became static and heavy and Nat chuckled at your inexperience.
“Tell me, Y/n, have you ever been with a woman before?” she whispered in your ear, her breath making you shiver.
You shook your head.
“Words, Красотка,” she gripped your chin harshly.
“No; never,” you whispered.
“Oh, I’m gonna have fun with you, little one,” she chuckled darkly.
“Oh god,” you moaned.
“You want mommy to show you a good time?” she snickered.
“Please.”
“Lay back, baby. Mommy’s gonna be right back,” she said kissing you softly. Your stomach fluttered as you patiently waited laying on her incredibly soft bed. You turned your head to watch her leave ever so elegantly; her bottom swaying teasingly as she disappeared into her closet. She walked out with a huge strap and some silk ties and your legs started to shake from excitement? Fear? Both? Yeah, both.
“Safe word?”
“Milf,” you said cheekily, making her laugh out loud.
“Funny.” she mocked, shaking her head.
“Arms up. You let me know if it gets too much ok?” she said cupping your face sweetly.
“Ok; mommy,” you grinned before she kissed you quickly.
She moved up your body straddling your waist to tie the silk ropes around your wrists and the bedframe. You could feel the warmth from her core grinded against you and you felt yourself grow hot under her and bit your lip shyly. She peered down at your flustered state and smirked, proudly seeing you already squirming haven’t even laid a finger on you. She tugged harshly on the knots making sure you had nowhere to go and your stomach flipped when you tested it and you were unable to move your arms from their newfound position.
“Are you gonna tie my legs too?” you asked.
“We’ll take it easy the first night?” First night?
She stood at the foot of the bed staring lustfully into your eyes as she put on the strap, settling comfortably around her hips. She spit in her hand before wrapping it around the standing faux cock pumping and coating it with her saliva. You couldn't help the way you instinctively squeezed the thighs shut in an attempt to relieve yourself.
“Open those pretty legs sweetie. Let mommy take a look at your gorgeous pussy,” her words made you moan softly as you complied.
“So beautiful,” she whispered, almost to herself but you could hear her delicate words.
Her hands came up your thighs and placed them over her own. She brought her fingers down to your core and circled her finger around your entrance. You’ve been aroused since the moment she first pressed her lips against your skin downstairs; to say you were wet was an understatement, you were practically dripping already. She grinned devilishly before pushing her fingers past your folds slowly.
“We're gonna have to stretch you out if this fat cock is gonna fit inside you,” she told you.
You moaned feeling how cold her fingers were, but you loved it. Her thumb came up and pressed firmly against your clit before circling languidly. Your brows furrowed at the pleasure she was stimulating and you bit your lip trying your hardest to not moan like a pornstar.
“I wanna hear you, Красотка,” she pulled your bottom lip from between your teeth.
“Ugh, mommy. That feels so good,” you breathed out.
“Just wait til mommy gets to stuff her cock in this tight little pussy,” she practically growled. Her fingers moved faster in and out of you and you felt that familiar coil in the pit of your stomach, a feeling you often got when you thought about her with your hand between your thighs, starting to build.
“Ah shit, I’m gonna come, mommy!” you whined, tugging on the ropes.
“You wanna come? Come for mommy, Красотка,” she whispered.
Your stomach tightened and your legs squeezed tightly around her waist as you gushed all over her fingers. When you slowly came down from your first orgasm, she brought her fingers to her mouth sucking them clean. Her enchanting green eye locked with yours as she did so; god that was so hot.
“So fucking sweet,” she moaned. She grabbed her faux cock and rubbed the tip along your entrance and you jolted at the feeling.
“You gotta breathe baby, breathe,” she pushed her hips forward and your body tensed up at the stretching her cock was doing to you. Her hands grabbed your waist as she slowly began thrusting her hips in and out. You back arched off the bed; becoming a moaning mess under the stunning redhead.
Nat held a blissful expression watching you write beneath her. It had been so long since she’s ravished another in her bed. And she’s kept an eye on you for a while. You were this sweet little thing that walked through the elevator doors back home in New York and Nat knew she wanted you.
She’s always known and saw the way you let your eyes linger. The way you stuttered when she asked you a question. The way you’d instantly freeze when she grazed her fingers over your waist, or pressed her hand on your lower back to get past you for whatever. Most of the time it was just an excuse to get close to you.
You made her feel young again. Reminded here what it was like to be desired by another woman. She knew you would never muster up the courage to actually make some sort of move, especially since you are always with Stacy. Tonight was a perfect opportunity and it terrified her for that moment that she had fucked up and scared you off. She really cared about you and for you; and hurting you was damn near about to kill the woman.
“You're taking mommy’s cock so well, Красотка,” she cupped your face.
You started grunting and whining practically yanking at the restraints. Grinding your hips in rhythm with her thrust desperately chasing your second release. God, the woman made you come once and now you’re completely and utterly addicted to her.
“Now, don’t get greedy, little one. Mommy’s giving all she can; do you need to be punished? I can walk away-”
“No! Please, mommy! Don’t leave me, please,’ tears brimmed your ears; you didn’t even want to think about not being her arms right now.
“Ok, then be a good girl and stop whining like a little brat. Is that what you are? Just a greedy whore desperate for mommy’s cock?” her words made you moan and squirm even more.
“No, I’m sorry mommy,” you choked out.
“Oh, Красотка,” she sighed.
She quickly pulled out, making you almost scream. You quickly let out a string of apologies but she simply grabbed your hips and flipped you over to your stomach. She brought her hand up and striked down smacking your cheek so loud it frightened you. However the sting felt so delicious and you shudder secretly wanting more. Her hand ran up your back grabbing your hair harshly to pull your head back; her body molding perfectly against you as she spoke in your ear.
“Красотка, mommy wanted to go easy on you tonight but if you want to act like a whore, you’ll get fucked like one.”
“Fuck!” you cried when she rutted her hips back into you from behind.
Her hand grabbed the globes of your ass, kneading the hot flesh from her spanks. Your upper body was being propped by your elbows until Nat hit a particular spot inside you that made you collapse. Nat smiled proudly to herself, continuing to drive her hips into you.
“Красотка, I can tell you want to come,” she said.
“Yes! Please, mommy let me come! Your cock feels so good,” you moaned muffled by the sheets your face was buried in.
“Go ahead, Красотка. Let go all over Mommy’s cock,” she granted.
“Fuck!” you back arched and your head was thrown back; your toes curled.
You practically trembled feeling Nat’s faux cock hit deeper inside you than any other partner, which wasn’t many to begin with, had ever reached before. Your eyes rolled so far back you felt like you were about to pass out. You’ve never been in such a euphoria high quite like this before and it was overwhelming. Tears flowed down your cheeks as you cried Nat’s name until everything went black for a moment.
You pried your tired eyes open realizing you were tucked closely by Nat’s side.
“There she is,” Nat cooed.
“I didn’t hurt, did I?” she asked softly.
“No, I feel great,” you giggled.
“You did so well, Красотка,” she kissed your forehead, cuddling you closer.
“What does that mean? The name you called me,” you asked.
“It means ‘beautiful girl’,” she whispered looking into your eyes.
Fucking hell, you were falling in love with this woman more and more with every passing second. You casted your eyes away shyly but she cupped your face and made you look at her again.
“What’s going on in that pretty little head of yours?” she teased.
“I know it might be wrong, but I’m in love with Stacy’s mom,” you told her.
She smiled softly before kissing you passionately, literally taking your breath away. No other words were exchanged. You simply closed your eyes and basked in what could be the only night you get to spend with someone as perfect as Natasha.

In a Mirror Image (Eyeless Jack X F!Reader)
🌸 In a Mirror Image
[Eyeless Jack X F!Reader]
[Warnings: blood, language, cheating (both physical but it's not like, in your face, and emotional)]
Part 1
The flowers that grow like weeds in your lungs bloom thicker and thicker every day. Your vision clouds with blue more often than not, and you can’t think about anything but the blossoms and blood that paint the bathroom with a hue you’re already much too used to. It’s a painful existence, and it’s getting worse. One of the most wretched parts? You’re deteriorating so fast that your vision no longer services you. You are blind, unrendered to see. You still choose to live in a delusion, and you are amongst the only who choose not to acknowledge it.
By now, everyone knows but only one other than you refuses to acknowledge it.
You hear Hoodie arguing with Jack more often than not. It seems the blond haired proxy is angry over what Jack has done to you and because he knows what Hanahaki does to those it takes root in.
“You’ll fucking kill her,” Hoodie seethes as he gets in Jack’s face for the fourth time this weekend. “Look at her-”
“I am!” Jack shot back, his arms crossing defensively over his chest. “Who are you to come in here and speculate on something that you’re not a part of?” He growls. Normally, Jack likes talking to Hoodie, but not when Hoodie’s on a mission to prove Jack a sinner.
“I wasn’t even aware you still had one,” Hoodie retorts through grit teeth. “I can’t believe you. Look at the flowers Ja-” and before he can continue tearing into Jack, he hears your bedroom door open.
While you still share the room with Jack, neither of you are in it at the same time. You’ve taken residence up on the living room couch with Kate and Jack more often than not stays with Leia. The room you share is usually empty, much like your heart.
“Hey there, buttercup,” Hoodie suddenly greets you as you tiredly walk into the kitchen where the two men had previously been in a standoff. “Did you sleep okay?” He asks, voice so much softer and gentler with you than what he had just been using.
You shake your head as you take a seat at the table. “I can’t sleep,” you say.
Hoodie’s brows furrow in sympathy before they knit in frustration when Jack sits next to you. He watches as Jack snakes his arm around you before he presses an empty kiss to the side of your head.
“No?” Jack says in a sickly saccharine tone. “I’ll see what I can do about that. Does that sound good to you?”
You nod slightly, the ghost of a smile on your lips. “That sounds good,” you murmur back.
“Anything for you,” he hums as he pulls you in closer to his side.
“You disgust me,” Hoodie hisses to Jack as he gets up and pushes in his chair roughly, making the table bounce. He doesn’t take his eyes off of Jack for a second as he leaves, roughly slamming the front door behind him.
“What was that about?” You ask, feigning innocence. You refuse to open your eyes to the situation you are in.
“He’s having a bad day,” Jack answers. “Don’t worry your pretty little head about it,” he hums as he presses another kiss to the side of your head.
The butterflies in your stomach are dead, but the flowers blood evermore.
“You’re still sleeping out here?” Kate hums as she takes a seat next to you on the couch. She looks exhausted and she’s covered in blood. Her mask is cracked too.
“I guess,” you yawn as you shift slightly from your not so comfortable position. “How has your day been?” You ask as you reach for a glass of water only to see it’s not there.
“Let me,” Kate says as she gets up once more. She knows you’re getting worse. After getting you a bottle of water from the fridge, she comes back to your side. “I’ve had a busy day. Met with an independent named Nyein. They remind me of a big cat,” she finally answers as she opens the water bottle for you.
You take it and begin to slowly sip from it - it stops the flowers from blooming ever so slightly. Your airway opens just a little bit. “Do they now?”
Kate nods as she flips mindlessly through the channels. “They said they’re falling in love with a human. Bad business,” Kate winces, her dark eyes watching you carefully. “I hope they don’t…”
“It’s bad business,” you suddenly say as you feel petals fill your mouth. You cough slightly and the small little forget-me-nots fall into your lap, thankfully free of blood this time. You take one of the flowers into your fingertips and observe it gently. “I hope they’re okay.”
Kate puts her hand on your thigh, lightly squeezing before finally settling on the early evening news. “You wanna burn these blue fuckers?” She asks as the flowers in your lap remain stagnant save for the buds that unfurl at an alarmingly fast pace.
You feel the corners of your lips curl into a smile. “Yes.”
Morbid, your flowers have been springing up everywhere. They’ve infested the temporary house. So, you and Kate went around the place, plucking every single one before starting a bonfire in the backyard.
Toby, who considers himself a bit of a pyromaniac, was immediately summoned by the fire the two of you had cast in the backyard. He’d been out on a grocery run, and honestly, he had wanted to get out of the house.
The dynamics of the house had become uncomfortable to him. What with Leia and Jack sneaking off together and you coughing up a full greenhouse, he has been stressed. Toby can’t stand Jack and Hoodie arguing all the time as it reminds him of the life he tried to escape, and Masky can offer so much but ever since he renounced his love for Jay by force… It’s been hard. Toby knows it’s been hard for everyone involved.
He crosses through the house, sneers at Leia’s room, and then exits through the back to the scent of fire. He sees Kate’s arm around you as the fire blazes slightly blue.
“W-What are you g-gals up to?” He asks, coming to your other side so you remain in the middle.
“Burning stuff,” Kate nonchalantly replies. “You care to chuck anything in?”
Toby glances at you as you struggle to keep air in your lungs. “If I d-d-did, I’d be u-under c-charge for killing a-a-another under the O-Operator’s care,” he muses. He’s referring to Jack, of course. He takes in the scent of burning plant matter and blood and frowns when he remembers it’s yours. His hand reaches yours and squeezes gently.
You squeeze back.
Your experiences with Leia are lukewarm at best, and cold at worst. She’s something, she really is something. There’s moments when no one is in the temp house with you except for her alongside you, and those moments are tense, sharp, like a knife and burn colder than the depths of the sea.
The most memorable conversation you’ve ever had was the one that triggered a domino effect that would lead to a black hole in your chest.
“You’re still up?” Leia’s honeyed voice questions softly as she takes a seat across from you on the back porch at the glass table.
You find it more stifling inside so you choose to spend your time out. The weather is warm, afterall. The sun shines and fluffy clouds the size of whales swim overhead. You have a glass of pink lemonade made from a pouch Hoodie and Kate had picked up earlier. You find that the tang is enough to keep the flowers down.
“Of course I am, why wouldn’t I be?” You say in passing before you sip from the glass. You enjoy watching the rabbits in the backyard. They hop around without a care in the world.
She begins to thread her fingers through her long silver hair, braiding it. “I just think you should be resting,” she says. “You look so tired these days-”
“That’s none of your concern.”
“Touched a nerve,” she sighs. “You know you’re getting worse, right?”
You shoot her a glare, but you know she’s right. You’ve actually been holding out surprisingly longer than most people with Hanahaki Disease. Most people succumb to it within a few weeks of coughing, but you’ve managed to hold out for damn near an entire year. That’s almost unheard of. You’ve been hacking up flowers, their stems, roots and blood ever since Leia came into your life.
Everyone tells you that you’re getting worse, but you should have been dead months ago.
“Stop it,” you growl.
“You’re killing yourself,” she continues. “You could just… Let it all go, y’know?” She hums as she continues to fishtail her silver strands. “Renounce your feelings for him and save yourself.”
You grip your glass and set it back down roughly on the table. “That is literally none of your concern,” you repeat, eyes narrowing at the blue eyed beauty across from you. “Acting like you care-”
“I do, though,” she cuts you off. “I know that the Slender Man has big plans for you, but with you wasting away like this… You’ll never live long enough to see them through.” She flashes you a look of concern, but you can tell it’s fake. It shines like pyrite.
“What, so you can take my place just like that?” You bite back. “You can’t even wait until I’m fucking dead?”
Leia giggles and you hate to admit that it sounds pretty. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. Daddy always did say I got what I wanted.” Her eyes drift off and you’re able to see she’s no longer thinking about you, but someone who once loved her. She finishes the braid. “Happy six years to you and Jack. Give him all my regards, won’t you?” She stands up, eyes the rabbits feasting on the clover in the grass, before she plucks your half empty glass from in front of you.
“Leia-!”
“It’s not like you need it,” she chuckles.
“It’s a special day,” you said to Masky, a small smile on your face. “It’s our six year anniversary.” Your posture changes to attention as he closes the door softly behind him. He still smells like cigarettes, but it’s a pleasant scent you’ve found comfort in where others find it a nuisance.
Masky put a smile on his face but it didn't reach his eyes. “You need me to draw a portal or something for you?” He holds his arms open to you as you fall into them, part because you’re so weak and secondly because he knows you need the affection - even if he can’t feel it.
You feel light come to your eyes as you nod after leaving a note for Jack in your shared room on his nightstand.
‘Dear Jack, happy six years! I’d wait for you to get back, but I have a surprise for you at the field you gifted to me for our first anniversary. I await you with happiness. Love, R.’
Masky drew the portal in the living room, a mess of swirling cloud-like silvers and blacks before he laid eyes upon the place you once shared only with Jack. “It’s super pretty,” he says, dark eyes scanning over all the wildflowers. There’s weeds on the path, like no one has cared for it in a while. ‘How poetic,’ he thinks. ‘It’s an allegory for your decayed relationship with Jack.’
“No it’s not,” you giggle as you bring Masky down one of the weed and chicory covered paths to the gazebo. “But it’s special to me,” you hum as you take a seat.
Masky follows beside you. He doesn’t take a seat, mostly feeling it wrong to impose on a space that is Jack’s despite his respect for him falling so far from what it used to be, but takes in the scent of dying flowers all the same. It’s summer, and instead of the sun warming the soft petals, it’s burning them. When you cough up more flowers while waiting for the man who still holds your heart (and refuses to return it) you’re less than pleased to see that they blend in with the untamed mosaic.
“Are you still tired?” Masky asks softly as he lights up a cigarette. “You can rest, I’m sure he won’t mind.”
You glance over to Masky before you rest your head in your hands, wondering where your lover is. You listen to the wind as it blows through the leaves. You listen to Masky’s hum, and eventually, you fall asleep.
You wake back up sometime during the night in your bed and not in a position you normally sleep in. It looks like whoever delivered you back here was extra careful with handling you. You only wake up because Jack has accidentally turned on the light.
“Shit, my bad,” he apologizes, quickly plunging the room back into darkness. “Did I wake you?” He knows he did.
“No,” you lie. “I couldn’t sleep anyways.” That was the most rest you’ve had in months. “Where have you been?” You ask quietly, still choosing to remain buried in the sheets.
Jack slides into bed next to you and gets comfortable. He smells like perfume you don’t wear. Through the faint light of the hallway that peeks under your door, you can see he’s got dark marks on his neck and jaw. “Leia wanted to show me her childhood home. Place isn’t run by Zalgo anymore, so we took a trip out there.”
“Did you now?” You hum as you feel tears prick your eyes.
Jack can see you in the dark. His vision at night far surpasses a human’s. He just chooses not to acknowledge it. Jack knows that his relationship with you is gone, and that you’ve been coughing up flowers for the past year. He knows, and it hurts him. Hurts him deeply that he’s the one causing you such pain, but at the same time, he’s a coward. He chooses not to let you go cleanly because his relationship with Leia is so finite.
He knows she only wants him because at the time he was unattainable. Now that she has him, it is only a matter of time until she does to him what he’s done to you. He understands that fully, but he refuses to leave the safety net that is you because he is selfish. His feelings for you aren’t nonexistent, but it’s that kind of fondness one has after the deed has been done, a love based on past memory and sentiment rather than what will and can be. It has reached his threshold, and you both are too caught up in security rather than what is healthy.
“I did,” he says as his mind rushes a mile a minute. “What did you do today?”
You wonder if you should answer that honestly or not. Would he even care? “I stayed here today, nothing special.” You feel the flowers unfurling in your lungs.
Jack hums once more, his back now facing you as he slowly succumbs to sleep.
You met Masky in the bathroom again, hacking your lungs and more of those fucking flowers up into the bathrub and the sink. Hell, you even got some in the toilet. Your body is growing weaker and weaker by the day. The fact you’ve held out for a year is astronomical, but you know you’ll be being taken from it eventually. No one survives Hanahaki when their lover’s feelings aren’t returned. It either gets returned, or you lose them all entirely.
He almost lost you. You broke the mirror when your body went limp as the vines and flowers crawled out from your lungs, through your esophagus and out of your mouth. If it was an art installation piece, Masky might’ve thought it beautiful, but the fact you went cold and limp and the flowers were blooming at a rapid pace - one he thought he couldn’t keep up with.
Masky, despite not being able to really feel anything, panicked as he took you into his arms. Did he genuinely care for you? No, but he cared to whatever extent the surgery left him with. He fretted because you are under his direct care. He cared so deeply because he too had seen many good proxies and independents lost to it. He cared because a part of him remembered what it was like to have daisies and rhododendrons fill his lungs. Normally, you only have one type of flower to clutter your lungs. Science says “just because.” An old wives’ tale says “love truly lost.” In his case? Jay’s death. Nothing was the same after that.
Masky took no hesitation in scooping you up into his arms and running out of the house to the forest to be closer to his boss’s energy. The Operator could fix this should he will it. He didn’t care that the lights in the house went on from his concerned proxies - the ones who had been sick over what befell you since you came into their care. He didn’t dare let you go as he trampled through the brush in the dead of night, using only the moon.
“Sir!” He calls out frantically. “Sir! I need your help!” He can hear your heart get slower and slower.
And just like that, the devoted father came to his child’s cry.
“My child,” he greets, instantly swooping down to look at your pained, flowery visage. “Did I not tell you to handle this?” He chides softly as he takes you into his arms. The sound of static only grows louder and louder.
“I thought she could,” he says, his tone clearly apologetic. “Please, just… Just fix this for me.” He watches the Operator closely as the tall man holds you in his arms.
While you are not exactly his child directly, you are also still under his care. Leia did not lie that the Operator sees good things for you. Without any other words, the tall man is gone, giving you to gods know who to perform a surgery that should be considered the only humane way out.
He returns to the house where Hoodie, Kate and Toby eagerly awaited him, clamoring around him and pecking like hens wondering where you are. He says that you’re in the hands of a god.
You floated in the ether, your body a galaxy. You watched as your chest was torn open - looked like by the hands of an independent that had talons to rival an eagle.
‘There’s so much,’ she says, her mouth turning into a frown as she worked on carefully removing the clusters of flowers. ‘How is she not dead?’
The Slender Man continues to observe, not offering the doctor any words.
The spirals and swirls inside of you continue to swirl before the flowers get torn out, one by one. The roots that cling to your lungs are stubborn, but with every single one removed, the lights of a different universe go out. Snuffed. Lost. The cavity in your chest grows wider until it births a black hole.
‘How much longer?’ The Slender Man asks, watching as the independent calls in another to help her rid your body of weeds.
She shakes her head as she continues to root them out. They bloom under her touch. ‘I have no idea - she must’ve felt so strongly-’
‘They just keep coming up, Sir,’ the other interjects, her four eyes scanning you rapidly.
The black hole begins to suck up the stars and nebulas that comprise your system. It feasts on you, making every part of what made you you, disappear in its depths. It grows larger as it consumes you. It grows heavier. It grows more powerful.
‘We’re almost there,’ the taloned independent says, her wings fluttering softly to emphasize her point. ‘I’ve never seen it this bad before.’
‘Fix this,’ the Slender Man seethes, his patience wearing thin. He knows your body will not be able to handle this much longer.
The black hole reaches its mass, and slowly, it begins to consume you. It overtakes you, bathes you, and leaves nothing left when it has taken all that it can. Your body is empty. You are a shell. Glimpses of blue, grey and reddish brown flash in your mind’s eye and through the eye of the black hole, but you cannot place the feelings you used to associate with them. You remember, but you do not feel.
The last of the flowers are pulled. The taloned independent is exhausted, and her partner is just as tired. ‘Good fucking lord,’ she breathes out, exhausted from the late night gardening session. ‘In all my years I have never seen that awful disease take hold of an individual that bad,’ she notes. Her bird-like eyes watch over your open chest to make sure they’ve fully cleared it out.
A single forget-me-not sprouts, and the Slender Man is the one who plucks it. Just like that, the flowers, their roots, all evidence you’d ever had life inside of you, is gone. Withered and wilted away.
The black hole takes all that you have to offer, and you are back to consciousness, no longer floating, no longer a home to the vibrancy of the universe.
What came after was a bit of a blur. The Slender Man had brought you back to the safe house you had called your home for the past year surprised to see that some of his favored children were still away, waiting for you as the light of the sun rose over the grass. It was a new dawn.
“How is she?” Hoodie asked, immediately springing up.
“Fixed,” was all the Slender Man said, his gaze shifting from you to your group’s leader. “Masky, I’m entrusting you to watch over her as you have been through something similar.”
“Of course,” the dark eyed man says as he takes you gingerly into his arms. “I wouldn’t trust her with anyone else.”
“One last thing,” the tall man in a suit hums. “I am taking Eyeless Jack from this house. Leia will stay with him.”
“It’s probably for the best. We trust your judgment,” Masky replies.
The Slender Man’s head gently cups Masky’s cheek before he leaves them with the sound of static that dissipates as fast as it appeared.
You spent the first few days after your surgery under bed rest. The Slender Man had healed you but he still worried for the state of your lungs. You needed the rest, and you were pleased to have it. Other than that, you felt… nothing. You were numb. Fleeting feelings of happiness or thankfulness, maybe something melancholic would slip through but ultimately, you were nowhere near your old self.
Jack was not allowed anywhere near you. That was one of the first instructions given to him when the Slender Man had popped into his head. While he did not have an opinion on Jack’s unfaithful behavior, he was more displeased with the fact he’d kickstarted the disease in you. The Slender Man thought that if he started it in Leia, then perhaps everything would turn out alright.
So, he sent the two out with a different group - which mostly meant Jeff, someone the Slender Man knew detested behavior that Jack had committed.
It was not easy for Jack to share the same space with Jeff after word had gotten out about you.
“You’re my best friend,” Jeff had sighed one late afternoon, refusing to even acknowledge Leia in the room. “But that? That was fucked up.”
Jack hummed and kept his gaze on Leia, who looked at him with nothing short of adoration. “Sure.”
Jeff sighed once more and stood up. “You don’t feel an inch bad, do you?”
“No.”
“You’re a shitty guy but you’re an even shittier liar.” Jeff broke the door with how hard he’d slammed it on his way out.
Jack really wasn’t the same, that much was apparent. He’d slowly been becoming more withdrawn and quicker to agitation. Of course, he’d take it out on whoever was around to deal with it. Leia included - it just came in a different form. One in which she’d never complained. But when things were rough between them, things were rough.
Jeff could hardly stand the two most days, so when he’d sneak out, it was with his dog to come pay a visit with you. And he hated how dull you had become.
“Masky used to be a lot more personable,” Jeff would say. “Life of the party when we could get him out of his pseudo-philosophical bullshit. Then he hurled flowers and we knew something was wrong.” Jeff’s hand rubs your back gently as a sign of friendship.
“And then?”
“Then he got that stupid surgery and now he’s just existing. No further purpose, just existing because some pale guy says so for his benefit.” Jeff huffed and looked up at the setting sun.
You found your gaze following his.
“What you’re doing right now,” he began. “It’s no way to live.”
“Would you have rather I’d succumbed to it?” You asked, not adding any inflection to whether you’re happy or sad, hurt or even offended.
“In all honesty?” Jeff tore his eyes from the pink and blue sky. “Yeah. This,” he gestured to you. “This isn’t you.”
Everything you’re supposed to feel feels dampened. Instead, you nodded. “Note taken.”
Jeff frowned.
The first time Jack was able to see you after your surgery was nearing halfway to what would have been seven months. It’d been a rough time without him seeing you, mostly because the guilt had been devouring every humanity he had left. Nothing could fill the void.
Like the first time you had met him, it was an accident when you crossed paths once again. You had been clearing out a house one fine winter’s evening, doing what had been asked of you before you got the faintest scent of something familiar and something you once recognized as comforting. You furrow your brows, weapon at your hip as you slowly and quietly come down the stairs.
Your lips are pressed into a thin line as you peer into the living room. Snow falls outside the window.
“Reader?” A male voice asks, turning around from the hallway. “Is that you?”
You tilt your head slightly as you register the mask you’re looking at. Eyeless Jack, mostly just known as ‘EJ’ or ‘Jack’. You’ve never really spent any time with him though outside of little jobs, so you have no idea who this is or why he sounds so happy to see you.
“Uh, hi, EJ?” You say as you walk at a leisurely pace down the stairs.
Jack freezes momentarily as he comes to greet you in the living room. He’d almost forgotten that when the flowers are removed, so too are the memories alongside feelings.”It’s… It’s good to see you,” he says as he looks down at you, wondering if he should touch you or not.
“I guess it’s nice to see you too,” you say. “What are you doing in this area?” You inquire. You vaguely remember the Slender Man not wanting you two to be in the same area.
“Just out and about,” he answers as he scratches at the back of his neck. “Leia wanted to uh, hunt down some of her sisters - I - it doesn’t matter,” he suddenly finishes, feeling much too awkward to even look at you. He knows you don’t remember, but he certainly does. Looking at you… He has a fresh slate.
“That’s nice,” you say in a tone that’s clearly disinterested. You walk towards the living room windows and look into what is now a cold winter’s night. You can see the snow still falling. If you want to make it back to Masky before he gets worried, you’ll need to head out almost immediately. “Pretty, isn’t it?”
Jack slowly comes to your side and puts his attention on you, watching as the snow continues to fall. “Yeah, the prettiest,” he says softly, desperately trying in vain to hold back on scooping you into his arms. There’s something scratching at the back of his throat.
You nod once again and zip up your coat. “They’re expecting me,” you say, gearing up to brave the snow.
“Do you need any-”
“No,” you cut him off. You’re not sure why it comes out so harshly, but you figure it must be a remnant of a memory you no longer have access to. “I can manage on my own.” You brush past him and open the front door, eyes momentarily clamping shut at how cold it is before you step onto the porch. The sound of the crunching snow is satisfying.
“Stay safe out there,” Jack says softly, not moving from his place as he continues to gaze out the window at the falling snow.
You turn your head briefly over your shoulder, “and you as well.”
Jack hears the door close and you walk off into the night, back to a group he was barred from. That tickling in the back of his throat grows more and more prevalent until he clears his throat. Feels like there’s something on his tongue. He coughs a few more times before holding his hands in front of his mouth, displeased to see the small blue petals he knows will bloom to full flowers in a time frame that is too long to be considered fair.

Two Loves of Mine
The finale. Wow. I am super proud of myself for finishing this series after a very long break. Here it is, part 12. I love how Duff and Bree’s story ends and the love, the romance, the tooth rotting fluff is to die for in this last chapter. Please show some love, comment, reblog, all the works!! 🥰

*One year later*
-Bree’s POV-
“Strawberry jelly or grape jelly, Ai?”
“Strawberry, please!” Aislinn calls from the living room, surrounded by dolls and stuffed animals. She’s in her own little fantasy world of make believe.
I smile and spread the red jelly on a piece of bread, placing the peanut butter slice on top before cutting the sandwich into two triangles, convinced sandwiches always taste better that way. I put the knife in the sink, peanut butter in the cabinet, and jelly in the fridge and close the door, the only picture on the door catching my attention as it always does.
Aislinn on Duff’s shoulders, me beside Duff, Duff next to me with an arm wrapped around my waist and a hand on Aislinn’s leg to keep her steady. Three big, bright, genuine smiles in the house we now call home together. I guess when you take a leap of faith, good things can happen.
Our love rekindled so naturally. There was never a moment where I felt we were rushing back into things. Everything fell into place as it was meant to.
“Mama, come sit with me!”
I grab the sandwich from the counter and join Aislinn on the floor. She accepts the sandwich and kisses my cheek as a ‘thank you’ before digging into the sticky sweetness.
Her eyes are brighter. She laughs more. She smiles more. She’s happy. And to think I had been depriving her of this happiness only a short while ago. Stripping her of the chance to have a complete family. Not my finest mom moment, but I’m still learning how to be a better parent. I have another chance though. Not just with Aislinn, but with the little girl safely resting in my belly.
I cradle my growing stomach, watching as Aislinn delicately cares for her dolls, no doubt she’ll exude that same gentleness when her baby sister arrives in due time. The missing piece of our puzzle.
Heavy footsteps stop behind me. I turn as much as my body will allow, a small smile gracing my face. Duff stands against the wall, a mixture of what I can only describe as adoration and awe etched onto his face.
He laughs and smiles more, too.
~~~
-Duff’s POV-
I can only do as much as watch them sit together before my heart begins to beat faster than it should on an average day. I drink everything in. The messy living room with thousands of toys thrown in all directions. A half eaten peanut butter and jelly sandwich. A giggling Aislinn beside the sandwich.. An utterly beautiful and overwhelmingly pregnant Bree beside her. Everything I’ve wanted.
Bree gestures at the empty space on the carpet beside her. I join them on the floor, opting to sit behind Bree and hold her against my chest as Aislinn plays, absent in her own world. Bree relaxes against me. Her guard is completely broken. There’s no walls hiding her heart away. There’s no worry lines etched into her forehead or sarcastic quips falling off her tongue in an attempt to insult me. There’s just an aura of calmness and peace that has replaced her defense mechanisms, accompanied by lovestruck eyes and warm kisses I get to relish in for the rest of time.
Her hands rest on her stomach and mine, much larger and normally rougher but gentler with her, slide on top of them. My nose finds her neck, nuzzling deep into her. I place a few kisses along her skin. “I love you.”
She sighs, her voice light and airy. “I love you. I love this life with you. I love our family,” She cranes her neck to look slightly back at me, a hand coming up to cradle my cheek. I sink into her touch. “I love you.”
Three words I thought I’d never hear from her again, but I am over the moon that she says them so frequently and passionately.
She kisses me softly, and much too quick for my liking, but I’ll never pass up the opportunity to just hold her in my arms as we watch our daughter, the one who is blossoming into a combination of myself and Bree, yet still blooming into a person all her own. The one who, without realizing it, gave us a reason to become a family.
And as I sit with the two most precious gifts known to mankind, the realization dawns on me that these two loves of mine are just weeks away from turning into three.
Athena
– Goddess of wisdom, reason, intelligent activity, literature, handicrafts and science, defense and strategic warfare
Rowan felt ridiculous.
He had spent the last hour cleaning his apartment and was currently pulling all of the food out that was meant to be prepared for dinner.
Steak, carrots, green beans, potatoes, a wide range of spices.
Thanks to the internet, Rowan knew what to do with them all.
It’s not like it was that big of a deal - Lorcan and Elide were joining him and Aelin for dinner.
And although he had hosted Lorcan and Elide a million times for dinner, Rowan had never cooked, nor had he introduced them to someone he was crazy about.
And he was crazy about Aelin.
She didn’t have classes on Fridays, something he wished he had been smart enough to plan when he was in college, so she’d done his grocery shopping while he was teaching all day. When he got home, he was expecting her to still be there. But his apartment was empty.
I have to get ready, she’d explained when he called her. I wasn’t expecting Lorcan the other night, but I have to impress Elide.
“You could have gotten ready here. You shower here all the time.”
We have sex in the shower, I don’t use it for functional purposes. Not yet anyway.
So here he was, laptop open to a recipe for pan-seared steak, making sure he had everything he needed.
Aelin had promised she’d be here before Lorcan and Elide, and he had been hoping to impress her with his skills in the kitchen, too, even if they were rough.
Now he was hoping not to set the smoke alarms off as he turned the stove on and put way more butter than he was used to using in the cast iron pan.
As it began to melt, he was already considering his meal a success.
Just as he was dropping the steaks into the pan, the front door opened and Aelin was letting herself in.
“Follow the sound of the sizzling,” he called, and Aelin came into view a second later.
She whistled, brows raised. “I like a man in the kitchen.”
Rowan laughed as he met her halfway, giving her a kiss. “Hopefully you still like it after you eat what I make.” Another kiss. “You look beautiful.”
She scoffed. “I’m wearing leggings and a top.”
“And you look beautiful in them,” he replied, turning back to the stove. “Just like you do in everything.”
“You’re a shameless flirt,” she said, beginning to chop the vegetables. But he saw the blush creep across her cheeks and ears.
Although they were cooking a homemade meal, he’d made sure she knew this wasn’t going to be anything fancy.
Elide would never let me live it down.
Rowan had always got along well with Elide, although he had absolutely no idea how she ended up with Lorcan. Rowan loved his oldest and closest friend, but he was a natural asshole.
Elide was the opposite.
“I have to confess,” Aelin began, nibbling on her bottom lip. “I’m a little nervous.”
Rowan’s brows rose. “Why?”
“Well, these are the people we’re going to be spending a lot of time with, I assume, since they’re two out of four people that know about us.” She gestures between the two of them. Their unorthodox relationship. “If she’s as sweet as you say she is, I’m worried my sarcastic ass will offend the woman.”
Rowan couldn’t help the laughter that shook his body. “Do I need to remind you that she’s been with Lorcan for the last five years?”
Aelin whistled. “Five years and still no ring? That gives me good material to ruffle Lorcan with.”
He froze and glanced over a shoulder at her. “Maybe don’t bring that up.”
Aelin was instantly grateful she had mentioned it now, and not in front of Lorcan directly. “Why?”
“Lorcan is…” Rowan trailed off as he flipped one of the steaks over. “He’s complicated. He’s not great with commitment. Elide is the only girl he’s been in a real relationship with as long as I’ve known him.”
“And how long is that?” Aelin asked, transferring the chopped veggies into a baking dish.
“We’ve been best friends since elementary school.”
Aelin’s eyes widened. “Oh. Wow. Okay, I won’t bring up anything to do with weddings or babies or any other lifelong commitments.”
“Good idea,” Rowan chuckled. “It may not seem like it, but as of now, Lorcan likes you. Imagine how cranky of an ass he would be if you got on his bad side.”
“Almost as bad as it is for someone who gets on mine,” Aelin grinned, and that mischief sent a thrilling chill down Rowan’s spine.
He opened his mouth to respond, to say something along the lines of lets do it right here, right now, before they get here, but a single knock sounded on the door.
Aelin whistled. “Even Lorcan’s knock is grumpy.”
“It’s also early,” Rowan mumbled, setting the tongs he’d been using down beside the stove and heading for the door. On any other occasion, Lorcan would have let himself in, like usual, but he knew how important this night was. Or at least was to Rowan.
He opened the door and found Lorcan grimacing, while the petite girl with dark hair was bouncing from foot to foot.
“Is she here?” Elide asked, grin growing. “Or do I have time to grill you about this alone before she shows up?”
“I’m afraid you’ll have to grill us both,” Aelin said, appearing from the kitchen, a smile on her face.
As Rowan shut the door behind them, Elide’s mouth popped open into a little O and her eyes narrowed.
Aelin’s grin grew. “Hello, Elide.”
“Aelin,” she breathed. “Aelin Aelin? As in…Aelin?”
“I’m guessing it was the same Elide,” Lorcan mumbled, carrying a covered dish into the apartment. “Elide made dessert.”
With that, he was going into the kitchen to place it on the table.
The two women ran towards each other and embraced. Rowan kept his mouth shut as he watched the scene unfold.
Elide stepped back. “You don’t seem as surprised as me. Why don’t you seem as surprised as me?”
“Lorcan told me where you were from and how you moved around last time I was graced with his presence.” Aelin shrugged, that grin remaining. “I had a hunch, but wasn’t sure. Besides, if it did end up being you, I wasn’t sure you’d remember me.”
Elide turned and glared at her boyfriend. “A little heads up would have been appreciated.”
He was already halfway to the fridge, heading for a beer he knew Rowan would have restocked for them. “What she said. I didn’t want to get the story wrong or your hopes up.”
Rolling her eyes, Elide looked back to Aelin. “Men.”
Ending up back in the kitchen, Aelin finished up the veggies and was putting them in the oven when Elide asked, “So Aelin, how exactly did you two meet?”
Aelin glanced at Rowan and then back towards Elide. She was sipping her wine as she leaned against the counter, looking like the picture of innocence. Lorcan was shaking his head where he stood next to her.
Clearing her throat softly, she took the safe route. “In class.”
Elide’s eyes lit up. “So he really is your professor.”
“I thought that had been established,” Rowan mumbled, covering the steaks with foil to rest before they ate.
“I wasn’t sure if you two were just trying to mess with me again,” she said, eyeing Lorcan and Rowan. Turning to Aelin, she said, “I’m so glad I won’t be the only girl anymore. You have no idea how awful it is being the third wheel with these two.”
“You’re the third wheel with these two?” Aelin asked, brow raised.
Elide barked a laugh. “Absolutely. The more time you spend around these lovebirds, you’ll see what I’m talking about. Their bromance is out of control.”
“Bromance, huh?” Aelin grinned as Rowan rolled his eyes.
“It’s cute, really,” Elide said, then slowly shook her head as she met Aelin’s eyes. “Wow. I just can’t believe it’s you. It’s good to see you.”
“You too,” Aelin said, and Lorcan cleared his throat from where he stood on the other side of the room.
“Are we done with sappy pleasantries?” He asked. “I came to eat.”
Elide pointed to the oven, where the vegetables were still roasting. “Five more minutes in the oven, but you and Rowan can set the table if you don’t feel like hearing us talk.”
She gave him a brilliant smile, which he scowled at, but Rowan indeed clapped a hand on his friend’s shoulder and led him from the room.
“Are you still close with Aedion? How is he?”
Elide asked, perching on one of the bar stools as Aelin refilled their wine glasses and stirred the pot of mashed potatoes on the stove.
“Yeah, he practically lives with me,” Aelin replied rolling her eyes affectionately. “He’s dating my best friend, and graduates in the spring, like me.”
“What’s he studying?” Elide asked, then added. “I thought he was older than us.”
“He is, by two years. He took a year off to find himself,” Aelin snorted, holding up air quotes. “Then he changed his major twice, which gave him a few unexpected setbacks. But he’ll have a degree in sports medicine and will be going back at some point to get his specialization in physical therapy.”
“I remember him being big into sports,” Elide nodded. “Good for him.”
“And you?” Aelin asked, leaning her elbows on the counter. “College not the path for you?”
“Oh no,” Elide said, chuckling. “I went for a few months before deciding it wasn’t for me. I started serving and making good tips, so I didn’t pursue anything else until recently. About a year ago I started getting really into pottery. I started my own little business a couple months ago, that I do for just a little extra cash and for the hell of it.”
“Really?” Aelin asked, brow raised. “That's incredible. What do you make?”
Elide opened her mouth to speak, but it was Lorcan that said. “Vases, mostly. She’s incredibly talented.”
Aelin hadn’t even heard them come back in, but as if on cue, the timer behind her went off. She turned to pull the vegetables out of the oven, but glanced back over her shoulder and Elide, who was smiling softly at Lorcan. “You’ll have to show me,” she said, setting the baking dish on a trivet. “I’d love to buy one.”
Elide’s smile was almost as radiant as she was.
*
“Okay. No more ordering in when we come over,” Elide said, setting her fork and knife down on her nearly empty plate. “You’re cooking from now on, Rowan.”
Everything had been delicious, even if the potatoes had been instant. Rowan was pretty damn proud of himself. “Aelin helped,” he said, his hand finding her knee under the table.
“Then you better keep her, because that was delicious and take out isn’t going to cut it anymore.” Elide sipped from her wine and winked at Aelin from across the table.
“Even I can’t protest that,” Lorcan said, throwing his arm around the back of Elides chair.
“And I didn’t help that much,” Aelin said, holding her hands up. “Rowan started cooking this afternoon. I just put veggies in the oven.”
“Well, either way, it means Lor and I are on clean up duty. You two go relax,” Elide said, and rose, beginning to pick up plates.
Lorcan groaned but followed his girlfriend’s lead, nonetheless.
Aelin laughed quietly as she took Rowan’s hand and pulled him into the living room.
“I like the hold she has over him,” Aelin said, once they were alone. “It’s inspiring.”
Rowan hummed as he put an arm around her and pulled her against his side. “That’s a great way to describe Elide. Inspiring.”
Aelin thought of the murky memories she had of the young girl. She’d moved to Perranth right around the time Aelin’s own parents had died. Sadly, that move had been prompted by the same reason. Elide’s parents had also passed and her uncle had received full guardianship of her, and he lived in Perranth. Rather than uproot his life, he decided to uproot Elide’s. She had been too young for a cell phone, so there had been no way to stay in touch at the time, but Aelin was glad to see her back in Orynth. She was sure Aedion would be happy to hear about it, too.
“I think she likes you,” Rowan murmured, his lips by her ear.
Her laughter was soft as she rested her head against his shoulder. “I’d hope so. She’s known me since we were children.”
Rowan scoffed. “That means nothing. I’ve known
Lorcan since we were children and half the time
I hate him.”
Aelin’s head fell back as she laughed a little louder. “Well, that’s understandable. But me? I’m a peach.”
“Yeah, you are,” he whispered, and kissed her, softly. She held onto him a little bit tighter, and she couldn’t help but think how perfectly the night had gone.
If only the people who currently knew about their relationship would be the only people that knew about their relationship, Aelin wouldn't mind it. At least, not for a while.
“Elide was right, though,” Aelin muttered. “Your food is delicious. I’m continuously impressed by you.”
He shook his head and laughed quietly. “Thank the Internet. I can just follow directions well.”
The two fell into silence as they listened to Lorcan and Elide’s banter from the kitchen, and Aelin couldn’t help but laugh. It was clear they had been together for a while, with how comfortable they were, and Aelin was happy for them, if not a little bit jealous. She knew it was something that couldn’t be rushed, but feeling like that with someone, like that someone was home, was something she hadn’t experienced in a while.
“He’a different around her,” Aelin quietly mused as Lorcan’s deep rumble of laughter reached them from the other room.
Rowan nodded slowly. “Their story isn’t mine to tell, but… He helped her out of a dark place, but she also saved him, in her own way.”
She understood that. Hopefully, she and Elide would become close enough that she’d feel like she could open up to her.
It’d be nice to have another girlfriend, like Lysandra.
“You should come over one night this week,” Aelin said, looking up into his face. “So you can get to know Aedion and Lysandra.”
His eyes narrowed slightly. “I think Lysandra and I got a good start on that in class.”
Aelin grinned as she framed his face with her hands. “She’s a little extra, but so am I, so you shouldn’t mind that too much.”
Rowan scrunched his nose but sighed. “I guess that would be fine…considering they already know about us.”
“Kind of hard to hide from my best friend and roommate,” Aelin muttered. “And obnoxious cousin.”
“We could always go up north for a weekend, too,” Rowan suggested. “With Lor, Elide, and Lysandra and your cousin. I have a cabin there.”
“Of course you do.” Aelin rolled her eyes. “Spoiled, rotten rich kid.”
There was a flash of hurt in his eyes, but before she could ask about it, or even begin to apologize, Elide was sweeping into the room. “Dinner is all cleaned up and I still have room for dessert. Anyone else?”
“Depends on what it is,” Rowan smirked, his arm still around Aelin. That hurt was gone and Aelin wondered if she’d imagined it. “Not your attempt at a crockpot apple pie again, is it?”
“That was one time and had too little liquid. My crockpot was too large,” she huffed, but crossed her arms. “It’s a triple chocolate cake, actually.”
Aelin’s interest was immediately piqued. “Oh, there’s always room for chocolate cake.”
Elide grinned and took her hand, pulling her off the couch and into the kitchen. Lorcan took a seat on the other side of the couch and sighed.
“The two of them together is terrifying.”
Rowan smiled. He was sure they could get into some trouble, but it was nothing he and Lorcan wouldn’t be able to handle.
He was happy, he realized, trying to shove back the dark memories he’d accidentally dredged up. He was happier than he’d been in years, and Aelin was the reason.
He just prayed nothing happened to end that happiness.
Chapter 1
Natasha stood on the edge of the building watching the chaos break out below her.  The team was supposed to be infiltrating a new underground crime group to figure out where a drop-off was happening.  They’d had men on a street corner no one had managed to clock, and it had just happened to be the one Steve was observing, and they’d spotted him.  That had made the whole crew antsy and then they’d wanted to change locations for the meet.  That had meant a sudden scramble to relocate everyone, so they could keep monitoring the situation.  Tony had nearly been spotted as they did and ended up having to leave the area completely so it looked like another normal New York City Iron Man sighting.  To top that off, Sharon’s comms had just stopped working completely and so no one had any idea what the group was actually saying.  It had been a series of fuck-ups and she knew she would have to get down into the mess soon the way things were going, but she was waiting to see if Clint could salvage it as he bumbled along the street acting stupid so that he could ‘accidentally bumped into his old friends Sharon’ and get some ears back on the scene.
“God, grant me patience,” she sighed.  It was a prayer that had become commonplace for her.  She’d use it when she was on an undercover mission where she had to pretend to be much less intelligent than she was.  She used it when she helped patch up Clint’s cuts after he’d spent a whole day being incredibly agile and dexterous, only to trip over his doormat and land face-first into a cactus he didn’t even know he owned.  She used it when Tony went on one of his rambling stories that she already knew.  She used it when she had to watch Steve jump off yet another stupidly high point for no reason other than he had to be their first.
“I’m not sure, Natalia,” a voice coming from way too closer said.  “I’m not sure that’s what you actually want.”
She spun around, quickly assuming a defensive position.  You stood at the corner of the building, completely relaxed.  You had dark sunglasses on and what looked like a faux leather jacket and large black boots.  You were leaning against the wall slightly and twirling a lollipop in your mouth, and despite the fact that on just about anyone else she’d think they were trying too hard, you seemed effortlessly cool.
“Who are you?”  Natasha snarled.
“Patience,” you said simply.
“Don’t tell me to be patient when you’ve just snuck up on me in the middle of a mission.  Tell me what you want, or I’ll send that piece of candy through the back of your throat.”
You laughed and held up your hands. “Okay, killer,” you teased.  “Relax.  I wasn’t telling you what to do.  I was saying that’s who I am.”
Natasha quirked her eyebrow at you.  “So your name is Patience, and you sit around waiting for people to pray for patience and you pop out thinking it’s a funny joke?  You know how close to death you just came right now?  I’m in the middle of something.  Go away before you get someone hurt.”
Natasha spun back to look down at Sharon who was now talking to Clint.  She saw the quick sleight of hand as they exchanged mic packs.
“Patience isn’t my name,” you laughed.
Natasha rolled her eyes, hoping to cling on to the last remaining patience she had rather than breaking your neck. That would just lead to a lot of paperwork.  “You said it was.”
“No,” you said, straightening up and reaching into your inner jacket pocket.
Natasha pulled her gun and pointed at you.  “Don’t even think about it.”
You pulled your hand out with a business card pinched between your thumb and index finger.  You raised your hands and flicked the card up so it was held between your index and middle finger.  “I said I was patience,” you said, taking a few steps toward her.  Natasha’s fingers twitched on the trigger finger as she tried to read your intention.  “You’ve been praying to me a lot lately.  I thought I’d show up.  But - you’re obviously not ready yet.”  You offered the card to Natasha and she took it without taking her eyes off you.  “Now… count to two hundred, and then go down the fire escape.  Agent Carter will be fine until then, and that will get you there exactly when you need to be.”
“What?”  Natasha asked, now completely confused.
“Just a suggestion,” you answered and casually strode off to the stairwell, leaving Natasha alone on the roof, completely perplexed over what had just happened.  She looked down at the business card.  Embossed in gold on the glossy black card were your name, address, and phone number.  There was no mention of a job or business or even the word patience that you had kept bringing up.
Natasha furrowed her brow and tucked the card into her pocket.  She wasn’t a trusting person by nature, but she had enough experience with magic to know not to completely ignore what you said.  She counted to two hundred as she paid close attention to what was happening in the street.  As she carefully made her way down to the fire escape, there was a commotion and Sharon drew her gun.  People scattered as a large van pulled up and armed men spilled out.
Natasha cursed under her breath as the street broke out in utter chaos.
Tumblr media
“How did you even get there so fast?”  Sharon asked.
Thanks to your warning, Natasha had gotten there at the perfect time to take out most of the gunmen before they’d even shouldered their weapons.  In the end, while the plan hadn’t exactly gone how everyone had wanted it, and they still needed to actually find where they were operating from, they had made a lot of arrests, and thanks to Natasha, lots of innocent lives had been saved from being caught in the crossfire.
“There was this woman…”  Natasha started, not quite sure how to explain your strange appearance and departure from the rooftop.
“Oohhh…” Clint teased.  “Nat got the hots for some hot Chiquita.”
“Gross, Clint,” Natasha snarked.  “Don’t be a letch.”  Clint held up his hands in surrender and Natasha let out a long breath.  “It was weird though.”
“How was it weird?”  Steve said, sitting forward in his chair.  “Anything we need to worry about?”
Natasha shrugged.  “I don’t know - maybe,” she said.  “She said she was patience.”
Clint snorted.  “You definitely need to find her then,” he teased. Natasha swatted him on the back of the head.  “See,” he complained, rubbing his head.
“So her name was Patience?”  Steve said, opening up a drop-down screen above the coffee table.  “FRIDAY, do we have any record of a Patience as a member of any known criminal organizations.”
“Her name wasn’t Patience,” Natasha said, pulling the card out of her pocket and handing it to Steve.  “She said she was patience.”
“What does that mean?”  Steve asked, typing the details into the computer.
Natasha shrugged.  “Your guess is as good as mine.”
Tony chuckled.  “I like the idea of anthropomorphic adjectives walking around.”
“Patience is a noun, Tony,” Bruce scolded.  “And so is Tony.”
“You know what I mean,” Tony said, waving his hands around.  “You can feel patient, you can’t feel Tony.”  He paused for a moment.  “Not unless you asked nicely.”
“Maybe she’s some kind of god,” Clint said.  Everyone turned to him and Natasha raised her eyebrow.  Sometimes Clint would say things that were so simple and so profoundly intelligent that she wasn’t sure if he just blindly stumbled into the answer or he was an actual genius.
“Is that a thing?”  Sam asked.  “Just random gods of emotions?”
Natasha shrugged.  “I have no idea.  It’s a pity Thor isn’t here, we could ask him.  But she did say I’d been praying to her.”
Clint snorted.  “Sounds about right.”
“But Thor’s not a real god, is he?”  Steve said.  “Wasn’t the theory that he’s just an alien that lives a long time and humans just decided he was a god?”
“The dude makes lightning, Cap,” Sam teased.  “Maybe he’s not the only place it comes from, but he can definitely create it and control it.  Why can’t there be the equivalent for something like patience.”
Clint snatched the card from Steve and shoved it into Natasha’s hands.  “I say you call her.”
“You just want Nat to stop smacking you on the back of the head,” Bucky snorted.
“No, I want to see my best friend get laid,” Clint said, folding his arms across his broad chest.  “I bet someone who can command patience would be great at sex.”
“And…?”  Bucky pressed.
“And I don’t want to get clocked on the back of the head anymore,” Clint muttered.
Everyone laughed and Natasha looked down at the card, spinning it around in her hand.
“You look like you’re considering it, Red,” Tony mused.  “What was she like?”
“Cryptic,” Natasha replied.  “Cool.”
“Was she hot?”  Clint asked.
“I think so,” Natasha said.
“So call her,” Sharon shrugged.  “She helped me out.  She can’t be all that bad.”
Natasha nodded.  “At the very least I might get some answers.”
“And who knows, Nat,” Clint said.  “Maybe she’ll be able to teach you a trick or two.”
Natasha bit the inside of her cheek trying not to laugh, and wishing she had a little bit of that patience right now.
"Companion Troubles"
Knuckles x Shadow
Warnings: None
Fluff / Humor
This is the first FULL one shot I've written in a while so please excuse any errors or spelling mistakes. I will likely reread this over the course of a few days to make revisions of grammar, spelling, and punctuation mistakes if there are any. Any full revisions and add-ons will be put here. Anygay, I hope you enjoy this fic I've spent a few days writing. It was a bit of a rollercoaster since it took days to do one half of this and an hour to do the rest. I guess it goes to show that things take a personal pace and expectancy only makes it worse for you. Hope you enjoy, loves! - 🧸
Tumblr media
Twenty-four hours ago, there had been an attack. It was neither unexpected or surprising, seeing as day after day, a new attack came from every corner. Attacks all coming from the all too predictable, Eggman.
Of course, these attacks weren't unnatural, but still, everyone had gotten used to it to the point that if an attack hadn't been set, people would go nuts in confusion.
But today, as any random day, everything was going ordinarily smooth. The sun had risen. The clouds darted away to let the blue misty sky dominate the heavens. Eggman attacked once more, but was defeated at a record natural of 10 minutes (thanks to Tails and his defenses.)
Sure it was safe, but hell, was it boring.
Knuckles and Shadow thought so.
You might've thought Sonic would've felt the boredom, but if anything, he's been out all day feeling anything but. Sun rise to sun set, no where near the couch he used to bask in. Nowadays, he lounged with Tails having their own little personal adventures. Often testing out Tails's new gadgets, having little competitions (though Sonic usually let Tails win sometimes), and at the slight chance, they'd walk along the beach shore, talking about whatever topic they chose fit.
Knuckles the echidna wasn't all that lucky.
For a whole week, he'd spent his time finding the right candidate to be his new companion. Amy was the first candidate to come to his mind and the immediate easiest to rule out. She was too busy with her own personal adventures. Proclaiming she'd rather work of her own skills. Sticks wasn't that bad but not the most easiest to work with. Often, they'd be amongst the trees, picking out coconuts or otherwise playing around with the animals they'd often find. Knuckles considered them, but thought it best if they were left alone. The next candidate was... well, let's just say he'd rather not relive that experience. Eggman was the villain after all.
Today would be the last day Knuckles would look for a companion. Today would be the final straw and if he leaves without what he seeks, he'll force himself to take what he has. Which is nothing but an empty couch and a fridge full of grapes to eat.
He supposed the television wouldn't be all that horrible. After all, with so many channels to surf and various movies to use to his disposal, he could make it work one way or anothe-
"Hey, Redhead."
Huh?
Knuckles, too engrossed into the running TV, mustn't have noticed the swinging of the door, let alone the opening of the fridge, because right as he turned to meet whoever called him, he saw Shadow. Shadow holding what was a full bottle of soda, being drunken wholly in seconds.
"Shadow?-"
Shadow placed the bottle down and shrugged. "That's my name," he said almost too humorously. A little smile forming on his lips.
"What can I do for you?"
Knuckles mustn't have seen the poster on Shadow's hand because as Shadow lifted it to Knuckles, he only widened his eyes and yanked it from him.
Shadow chortled and stepped forward. Letting Knuckles inspect his own handwritten poster.
"IN SEARCH FOR A COMPANION. - KNUCKLES THE MIGHTY ECHIDNA."
"Although, I don't know much about mighty-"
"Where did you retrieve this?" Knuckles fumed. Yanking Shadow by his chest.
Shadow, barely surprised and rather nonchalant, chuckled and shrugged again. "Outside, nailed on the tree. It had glitter on it but I thought it made it look tacky so I blowed it all off."
"Why you little!-"
"Hey!" Shadow, pushing Knuckles away, stepped back, chuckled and shook his head. "Do you want a companion or not? I mean, your poster didn't exclude anyone so.." he shrugged. "I'm your last call, buddy."
Knuckles, angrily with a low huff, set his fist down and crossed his arms instead. "Fine."
"Cool. So, we can stay here, have fun, talk shrimp about Sonic, and eat all the chips-"
"Grapes."
"... Eat all the grapes we want!"
"That's not so bad..."
Shadow, with a small chuckle, beckoned him to the door. "Come on then. I'm not usually this lighthearted so you might wanna enjoy it while it lasts."
Knuckles vowed an oath that very moment that he'd crush that hedgehog's skull if he so ever tries anything mischievous. He had known Shadow to be an asshole, but it wasn't until a few months ago that he noticed that Shadow was the most assiest of asses to him. So yes, he was in a rather speculative mood now that he was in the company of a Shadow who wishes to become his companion.
"Are you coming or what, fireball?" Shadow called from outside.
Knuckles huffed and left without another word.
•••
Hours. Hours spent doing absolutely nothing but argue about the most idiotic of things. The first argument was about whether or not pizza or hotdogs were better. The next was a debate on whether or not the house should be remodeled and redesigned. The next and most current one, was about who had the best taste of music.
"You're what Sonic calls an 'emo', and it's evident just by your song choices."
"Yeah right," Shadow spat. "Your taste's as bad as Sonic's cooking, and you know how bad that is."
Knuckles's entire bloodline had some sort of evolutional difference, small or large. From rounded knuckles, dulled spikes, and shorter heights, to firm and pointed bones that formed the known fists of Echidnas, to sharply tipped hair, and taller height averages. From generation to generation, the fists he used in battle were for defense, honor, duty, and proper victory. Each person in his line all having a noble reason for their use.
Knuckles would gladly tell people far and wide that his fists' purpose was to slam Shadow onto a tree and hit him so savagely that his body formed with its very roots.
Knuckles's fists clenched.
"Is that pink I see on your cheeks, fireball?"
Caught off-guard, Knuckles's original expression of staggering anger turned to genuine confusion, which made the hedgehog next to him bark in laughter.
"What?"
Shadow, after another fit of laughter, clutched his stomach and faced the echidna who barred his teeth.
"You hate me, don't you?" Shadow asked, smiling.
"Amy said hate is a strong word to use. But I'm no liar, so yes. I hate you," Knuckles answered, agitated.
Shadow couldn've sworn he saw Knuckles's chest freeze. Was Knuckles regretting what he said? Shadow grinned even wider. His steps were slower than Knuckles's as they walked and jogged across streams and broken logs. Calculating, speculating, and evaluating what this firecracker of a redhead echidna actually thought of him.
After the silence had once more corrupted their midst, Shadow's steps grew faster, not that he had to try.
Knuckles on the other hand, having caught on, put a little more weight to his steps to move faster.
Shadow, seeing this, chuckled quietly and threaded on faster with little effort. His grin widened as he glanced to his left to find Knuckles's jaw had clenched. Whether or not that was to suppress a grin or a frown made Shadow itch to find out.
No word was spoken between the two warrior heads. Not even an attempt to speak rang bright and proud into their minds. Only the pace of their shoes and the crunch of their steps' heaviness mattered.
As a hill started to near, Knuckles took his hands and bent forward. Granted, he was never a runner, so it would be obvious to state that in a running game, Shadow would win victoriously. But if Knuckles used his fits - his prime weapon in anything - then the scales of chance finally evens out.
Shadow's grin faded and burned. He should have known the echidna was bound to make up a way around this little game of race. Although he looked like a wild animal hunched over his red back with his fists using the ground and punching it for leverage, he was faster and it looked effortless. This, Knuckles's way to move around situations that didn't compliment him, Shadow gawked at.
Although Sonic had his inability to give up and Tails had his share of expertise, Shadow saw Knuckles's adaptability had outshine all the others when it comes to it. He knew that if you put Knuckles in a position he wasn't familiar with, he was always bound to set his mind into the plan, the task, and so forth just to adjust. And adjust he always did. Not a barren wasteland, a parched desert, or a stormy raging sea existed where Kncukles wasn't gonna adapt himself to his situation.
Not only did Shadow think this would make Knuckles stronger, it proved that he was far more than how he first saw him. He wasn't a dimwitted idiot who happened to just be an asset and a friend to the team. No. He was more than that and everyone in the group except Shadow knew this. Which made his position in the group reasonably respectable. Shadow only realized this when he found his focus and kept analyzing the warrior.
"I win!"
Shadow must have been too into his thoughts, for Knuckles had already reached the top of the hill. He wasn't too far behind the echidna to have to use his speed to get up, and nor was he too close to be right beside him. Just enough however to see Knuckles's jaw relax into a victorious grin.
Shadow didn't like to lose, but it served him right. He might be a sore loser, but he wasn't an unfair one.
"Good job, red," Shadow congratulated. Smiling with a proudness no one had seen before. Even he didn't know he was capable of forming it.
Knuckles must have caught onto another weird change in Shadow, because his smile dimmed. His hands, which were dirtied with soil, were tensed. "What's wrong?" he quizzed in actual pure confusion and... concern.
The hedgehog grinned wider and chuckled softly. As he reached Knuckles's side, he only patted Knuckles in the back before walking past him to a rocky edge that laid ahead.
"Shadow, you didn't answer me."
"I know."
With a glance behind him, Shadow's mischievous grin turned into a warm and comforting smile. A beckoning welcome for Knuckles to join him as he sat down on the ledge that overlooked the horizon.
Knuckles was still conspicuous with suspicion but joined Shadow after a beat of thinking.
He sat on the ledge. Close enough to Shadow that a little gap laid between them.
Shadow inched closer.
"You're not... You're not as much of an idiot as I thought you were," Shadow looked ahead as he said this. Staring at the rippling waves.
"You evaluated that from a race?" Knuckles laughed. Swinging his feet back and forth.
"Hm," Shadow turned to Knuckles with the still warm smile, "sort of."
Knuckles laughed again as he turned to face Shadow. But this time it wasn't a very mocking tone and nor did it have any luster of anger. It was as if all his previous feelings had vanished and had evaporated into the cold wind of the hill. Instead, it was comforting and a very genuine bit of him liked Shadow to see this side of him.
"You're not so bad either I guess. You did sign up as a friend," Knuckles looked down to stare at his feet, which continuously swung.
"Oh, so it's- I'm a friend now?" Shadow gasped with a glint in his eye. Sarcasm really did control his expressions at times because his lips had formed a perfect "O" and his eyes had widened animatedly. But even then, a sliver of him hoped that Knuckles would say yes.
"... I suppose, yes."
And then in a sudden blink and bat of an eye, Shadow's eyes widened some more in shock. His hand fell to the little gap between them and he smiled.
"Really?" Shadow hated how sweet and high his voice had gotten, but he really didn't mind it so much at this moment. All he cared and longed for was reassurance that what he heard was the truth.
Knuckles blushed. His cheeks flushed a sweet and light pink. "Y-yes."
Shadow smiled wider in acceptance before turning to face his feet which he let swing back and fro.
Of course, Shadow had the rest of the team, but with all their glory and kindness combined, nothing was ever a direct indication that they wanted to be his friend. Even Amy who was awfully kind didn't bother to speak to him unless it was absolutely necessary. But here this red echidna was, making his life a living heaven.
"Thank you.."
"For what?"
"For being my friend."
Knuckles smiled softly once more. Not as if the first one ever left, and inched closer. Closing the gap between their shoulders.
Shadow, without a moment's hesitation, looked to the echidna beside him and smiled back before leaning his head onto his shoulder.
Time flew by so quickly that night as they watched the sky fade from a marvelous blue to a dazzling starry black. All while swinging their legs together in unison and moving from position to position. Telling each other stories and tales of their lives things they've never told a single soul.
Part 23
Request: Yes or No
Tfatws and WandaVision are finna take place around the same time cause I said so
~
"I have baggage, not as much as Bucky but.." You stared at Sam, a small hum leaving you.
"So that makes you the better choice?" You tilted your head. Sam chuckled, licking his lips as his head tilted up. He let out a sigh before shrugging.
"Yeah, it kind of does." Sam grinned. You rolled your eyes, chuckling softly. You patted his chest, shaking your head and stepping aside.
"Guess I'll have to think about it." You said, walking away from him.
"Think long and hard about it!" Sam called as you entered the facility. You walked towards your room, entering and noticing flowers on the nightstand. You walked towards it, picking up the note.
'Meet me on the roof at 9 -Bucky'
You smiled softly, smelling the flowers as you sat on the bed. You sighed, placing the note down. Sam and Bucky were both great guys and you cared about both of them. You didn't want to pick between them. You sighed softly, putting the flowers in a vase. You checked the time, taking a quick shower before changing and headed up to the roof. You smiled, seeing Bucky on the roof, staring up at the sky.
"Hey, Ocean Eyes." You greeted, approaching him and taking a seat beside him. Bucky smiled, turning to look at you.
"Hey, tiger." He gently bumped his shoulder with yours. He offered you a box of chocolates, giving a small grin.
"Flowers and chocolates? You really know the way to someones heart." You smiled, opening the box and picking up one of the chocolates.
"Back when we were younger, Steve and I would lay back and look at the stars while listening to some tunes." Bucky said softly, looking up at the sky. You chewed on the chocolate, humming.
"Do you know all the constellations?"
"Only a few.. You?"
"None of them." You giggled, laying back and staring up at the sky. Bucky chuckled, laying down beside you.
"I do like the thought of stars being the souls of people but uh, Carol and the space crew clearly broke that nice dream." You glanced at Bucky. He laughed softly.
"That's sweet. How'd you come up with that?"
"Disney." You replied, scanning the stars from a constellation.
"In Lion King, Mufasa said that the stars were pass kings and in The Princess and The Frog, Ray joins Evangeline when he passes." You giggled softly.
"Princess and The Frog?" Bucky repeated, brows furrowed. You blinked, sitting up and staring down at him.
"Excuse me, you don't know about Tiana and Naveen? The shadow man?" You asked in shock and slight offense. Bucky chuckled, shaking his head.
"Oh my god, you're missing the fuck out. It's a great movie. We need to watch it together." You smiled widely.
"Add it to the list of things we have to watch together." Bucky said, gently taking your hand and lacing your fingers with his.
~~~~~~~~~~
"Hey, Wanda. It's (Y/N)... Again. We haven't spoken in a few months. I don't want to bother you too much but I'm worried. Just.. Just send a message saying you're okay." You sighed softly, hanging up after finishing the voicemail. You sighed, getting out of the car and entering the apartment building. You went up the stairs and walked towards your apartment, unlocking the door and entering.
"Babe?" You called, closing the door behind you. You looked up, seeing Bucky with a new haircut. You blinked, brows raising.
"What do you think?" Bucky asked, staring at you nervously. You smiled, placing your keys down and leaning in, pecking his lips.
"I like it." You felt him wrap his arms around you.
"How's the family?" Bucky asked, tilting his head.
"They're good. Laura wants you to join us for dinner again." You smiled, head resting against his chest. Bucky hummed, metal hand gently running over your back.
"Did you sleep well without me?" You asked gently, hearing a soft sigh.
"I had another nightmare." He muttered. You pulled back, looking his features over. You rested a hand on his cheek, frowning.
"I'm sorry, Buck." You leaned in, pecking his nose. Bucky shook his head, smiling at you.
"You're here.. You help keep them away." Bucky said softly. You smiled pressing a kiss to his cheek. You stepped away from him, checking the fridge and sighing at the chinese leftovers.
"I'm gone for a few days and you empty the fridge." Bucky chuckled at your words, turning on the tv. He flipped through the channels before stopping at one playing a movie he liked. You warmed up the leftovers before grabbing two forks and walking over to him. You took a seat beside him, leaning into his side. He wrapped an arm around you.
"I missed you." He said softly. You smiled, raising some of the rice to his lips. Bucky opened his mouth, happily eating.
"Wanda hasn't responded. I'm getting worried." You told him softly. Bucky frowned, placing a gentle hand on the back of your head.
"She never does this. She usually calls whenever she needs me but.." You sighed softly. Bucky kissed your temple.
"Didn't you have a therapy session today? How'd it go?" You asked, tilting your head. Bucky shrugged.
"Same as usual." He muttered. You chuckled softly.
"Buck, if you really don't like her, we can find someone else for you." You reminded him, pulling out your phone when it vibrated. You furrowed your brows at the unknown number, handing Bucky the plate. You answered, placing the phone to your ear.
"Hello?"
"Hey, is this (Y/N) Barton?" You didn't recognize the voice.
"Who's speaking?" You asked, glancing at a curious Bucky.
"Monica Rambeau from S.H.I.E.L.D, I was wondering if we could talk about Wanda Maximoff. I know Hayward tried getting in contact with you-"
"Hayward never got in contact with me." You interrupted with a frown.
"Oh.. Uhm, would you mind coming down to WestView, New Jeresy? We have.. A problem with Wanda." Monica said softly.
"Uhm.. What type of problem? Is she okay?"
"Yes, she's fine but.. You might want to come see this for yourself.. You're able to." Monica said. You glanced at your boyfriend, sighing softly.
"I've got to go but I'll send you the directions if you're able to come." Monica said before hanging up. You put your phone down, sighing softly.
"You have to go again?" Bucky asked softly. You frowned, leaning in and kissing his cheek.
"I don't know, Buck. Last time I met with Hayward... I just wanted to murder him." You stood up, arms crossing.
"If it's about Wanda, you should go. I'll be fine, I promise." Bucky stood as well, gently wrapping his arms around you.
"I don't want to leave you alone again." You frowned, staring at him. Bucky pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead.
"Tiger, you've been stressing about Wanda for months now. You have something. Follow it." Bucky gave you a reassuring look.
"Call me if you need anything, okay?" You pecked his nose. Bucky nodded with a gentle smile. You grabbed your jacket and keys, leaving the apartment. You greeted Yori as you passed him, heading down the stairs and to your car. You entered, glad Tony had given you a car before he passed.
"F.R.I.D.A.Y, could you set course for the directions Monica sent me?"
"Course set." You hummed softly as the car began moving by itself. You buckled in, grabbing the steering wheel and taking control of the car. A million thoughts raced through your mind as you drove out of the city. You licked your lips, sighing softly.
"What the hell kind of trouble did Wanda get herself into?" You asked yourself, frowning.
"Uh, (Y/N), you might want to see this." F.R.I.D.A.Y called in a concerned voice. You frowned.
"What's up?" You asked. F.R.I.D.A.Y made footage of the news appear on the windshield.
"The wake of recent events have left us vulnerable. Everyday, Americans feel it. While we love the heroes who put their lives on the line to defend Earth, we also need a hero to defend this country. We need a real person who embodies Americas' greatest values. We need someone to inspire us again. So, on behalf of the Department of Defense, and our commander in chief, it is with great honour that we announce today that the United States of America has a new hero. Join me in welcoming your new Captain America!"
"You've got to be shitting me."

Fire on Fire - Chapter Eight
Chapter seven // Chapter nine
Warnings: suicidal thoughts.
Tumblr media
It’s kinda rushed but it kinda fits with today’s prompt for rowaelin month! next chapter is going to be way longer :)
————
Rowan took a piece of towel and used it to remove the foam from his client's leg, revealing a tattoo he had been working on for four long hours.
It was a large bouquet of flowers, each one a different color to represent a member of the client's family, with writing in the Old Language with their names.
“Here it is,” He told her, holding a mirror above her leg so she could see all the details. Her smile grew as she took in her tattoo. It was one of his favorite parts of his job, the emotion on their face. He loved to be able to bring such feelings to the people he worked on.
“I love it.” She said and Rowan only nodded, a hint of a smile on his lips. He put away his equipment, throwing away the little pots of ink that he hadn't quite finished while his client left, thanking him, before going to sign the last papers at the counter. When he finished, Rowan joined her and gave the invoice to Remelle, their assistant.
He left to clean up his workroom before entering the break room, heading straight to the fridge to take out his food. He had spent an hour yesterday cooking pasta, chicken and cutting up his favorite vegetables to make a salad. Cooking had always helped him to keep his mind busy and these last days it was more than necessary.
A few minutes after Rowan settled down at the round table in the middle of the room, fork in hand and his dominant hand busy holding an Apple Pencil while he multi-tasked eating and drawing for his appointments, Gavriel entered the room.
Rowan tried not to stare at him, exactly as he had done all week. But today it was more complicated as Gavriel sat down next to him, getting his full attention. He tried with all his might to concentrate on the drawing in front of him, but the temptation was too strong. "How's..." He cleared his throat, the words hard to come out. "How's Aelin?"
He avoided any eye contact, his eyes fixed on the tablet even if his drawing hadn’t progressed in the last ten minutes. He hated the feeling of worry in his chest. Rationally, he knew she was physically okay or Gavriel and Aedion would be by her side now. But she had been good at hiding her emotions, so good that her family didn’t see anything worrying. Apparently, he was the only one who saw anything, and it did nothing to help his worry about how she was right now.
After long seconds without a response, Rowan dared to look up at Gavriel. His head was turned toward Rowan, fork a few inches from his opened mouth. His entire face was frozen. Rowan just raised his eyebrows, waiting for anything to come out of his mouth. His boss shook his head, seeming to come back to reality. “Yeah. She is, why?” He could see the confusion on Gavriel’s face but Rowan wouldn’t answer that question so he just shrugged.
Rowan managed to stay quiet a few more minutes, even if he could feel the awkwardness in their air, but another question was burning his throat. “Have you ever met Arobynn Hamel?”
This time he looked up to see Gavriel look at him as if he was an alien, but thank the Gods, he didn’t comment on his interest. “Once or twice, but very briefly. Generally, that was just when he was picking Aelin up.” Rowan nodded, still trying to understand what Aelin had meant by The furthest they are from Arobynn, the safest they are. She hadn’t said anything else, leaving him more confused than anything.
“How did she met him?” He tried to appear casual as he asked that, taking another fork of food in his mouth. The food tasted sour as Gavriel kept watching him suspiciously. He couldn’t ask these questions to Aedion, knowing his friend he would be too defensive of his cousin, especially if Rowan was the one asking the questions. Gavriel knew about Aelin and Rowan’s disdain for each other but he knew less than Aedion, he hadn’t seen the two of them yell at each other or hadn’t witnessed them doing absolutely everything to ruin the other’s day.
He didn’t dare to ask Lysandra either, he was sure the woman would stab him with her hells if he even dared to pronounce Aelin’s name.
So Gavriel was the safest choice.
He seemed to think about who to tell him before opening his mouth. “At a party, when she was sixteen or fifteen, I think.” He took a bite of his food. “Arobynn’s an old friend of her father, both went together to college and were best of friends there, but they lost contact and met again at a gala. They talked about Aelin and found out she wanted to work in the same industry as Arobynn. He’s been her mentor ever since.”
Fifteen? Maybe Rowan’s mind was just fucked up to think it was weird, maybe he was just influenced by what Aelin said the other night. He might not have found it weird if she hadn’t said anything. He was just thinking too hard, trying too hard to find an explanation for what’s happening to her.
“You think he’s good to her?” Gavriel was a wise man, he was trying so hard to be part of his son’s life and it included taking care of Aedion’s cousin. Surely, he didn’t notice the little things Rowan did, but maybe he noticed something else. Rowan’s boss only shrugged.
“He found her a place at her university, made her TA, and gives her a job every summer. So, yeah. I guess so.” And he was paying for her education, a fact Aelin hid from her family. Why would she? It was what didn’t make sense, what was weird with all that. “I’m even sure he’s the first person she went to see when she left her parents in Terassen.”
What?
“What do you mean, ‘left’?” He asked, his brows furrowed. It wasn’t the only thing that didn’t make sense, he knew for a fact Aelin came to the house first. He hadn’t talked to her that day, he and the boys were sent to their room as if they were teenagers the moment a crying Aelin knocked at the door. He had lingered longer than necessary in the staircase, long enough to see her in a dress, shoes in hands, and cheeks filled with black makeup that had run down her cheeks.
Next thing he knew, Aedion spent a week at his father, trying to get Aelin better. Rowan had thought about this night for too long, Rowan always thought Aelin had partied too hard (because from her outfit, it was quite clear she had partied) and it was the straw that broke the camel's back for her parents. Even without wanting to, it had been impossible not to know about Aelin Ashryver Galathynius.
Pictures and videos of her in more than indecent dresses for her age were on page one of every magazine, when pictures of her sniffing coke had leaked it had even been made to National News. She had been sixteen at the time, and it had only been one of many times she had been caught doing what she shouldn’t have.
Before Gavriel could answer, the door opened to let Aelin appear in the doorway. She was holding flowers in her left hand, a smile on her face as she saw her uncle. Unfortunately, her face froze when she saw Rowan. Rowan’s entire body stilled, eyes roaming all over her body. She seemed okay, not skinnier than the last time he saw her, not hurt.
“Oh,” she said, opening and closing her mouth multiple times. She swallowed before clearing her throat. Only a blind person wouldn’t see her anxiety. “I didn’t think you ate there.”
He usually didn’t, having enough time to go back home. It was more comfortable to eat there, but he had been burying himself under work since he woke up in her empty bed. “You thought wrong.”
She was uncomfortable, and he both wanted to make her feel that way for hours and wanted to comfort her at the same time.
Sensing both of their unease, Gavriel stood up and went to leave the room. “I brought you those, your favorites,” Aelin said, giving her uncle the flowers. “I went to your favorite flower shop.”
Gavriel smiled and kissed Aelin’s cheek, earning a smile out of her. “Thanks.” He looked back at Rowan, he knew it was a warning glare but he didn’t care. He needed to speak with her. Gavriel left, pretending to have something else to do but it was all an excuse to let them speak.
“So, you’re alive.”
Aelin snorted. “I don’t know if you look relieved or sad.”
He fought his lips from rising. “Anything to say?”
Aelin looked at him, her bottom lip between her lips and her hands fidgeting. “Your shirt is ugly.”
It was his turn to snort. Of course, she wouldn’t go straight to the point. He arched a brow, waiting for a real answer. Even though he was the one sitting, he held more power than her now.
“What do you want me to say?”
“I don’t want you to say anything,” he said as he closed his tablet, letting his fork down on the plate to have his hands free. “I just want you to act like the adult you are, and it doesn’t include running away in the middle of the night after telling someone you want to die.” His voice was hard, it made Aelin flinch.
“I never said I wanted to die.”
“You said you didn’t have the strength to live, Aelin.”
“Yeah, never said I wanted to die.”
“But do you?” He had to ask, because if she did… He would do what was necessary, he couldn’t let her die. She was already killing herself slowly, between the sex and the alcohol… She told everyone she was sober from drugs but she had been lying for so long to everyone he had a hard time believing it.
Rowan got his answer when she avoided his gaze, focusing on the floor. His heart broke, he needed to help her and he doubted sending her to a psychiatric hospital would help.
“What are you doing here?” He asked, voice heavy with emotions. With his head, he made her sign to sit next to him, and to his surprise, he complied. She turned her chair to face him, their knees brushing. He could see the dark circles around her eyes from that close, her lips dryer than usual and dotted with small wounds that he knew were due to her teeth.
“I’m coming back home.” He told him, finally looking at him. “I was around, I finished school yesterday and had to sign some things at Arobynn’s office. So I bought Gavriel’s favorite flowers to thank him, I didn’t know you would be here.”
“You hoped I wouldn’t.” He stated and she only nodded. She looked broken as if she knew she could let her guard down after what happened between them Monday. He was happy she knew he would be here for her.
“I was ready to call the cops when I woke up alone, Aelin,” Rowan confessed. He needed her to understand people suffered from her actions. “I was going to until I heard Aedion complain to Lysandra about you leaving him for his father.” He exhaled a loud breath, trying to forget everything he felt that morning. “Aelin, I thought you were dead somewhere.”
Her hand gripped his, he couldn’t hide the surprise from his face. She kept her hand in his, her small fingers enveloping his. He couldn’t tear his gaze away from it, they had never touched like that. “I’m sorry,” her weak voice said. “I panicked. I didn’t think…” He looked back at her, letting her time formulate her thoughts. It was hard enough, she didn’t need to be pressed. “I didn’t think you’d care, to be honest. Nobody ever did, you said it yourself. Aedion was annoyed I was at Gavriel’s, not that I was gone. It’s always been this way, I’ve always been… free.”
It wasn’t freedom, it was negligence. But she didn’t need to hear this now, so he kept his mouth shut, just nodding in understanding. He linked their fingers together, delighted to see the surprise on Aelin’s face, at least they were even now. He squeezed her hand, accepting her apology. Two weeks ago he would have thought Aelin did it on purpose to have attention, but he began to realize he was wrong about her.
“It’s your birthday tomorrow.” He said, changing the subject. He had to get back to work soon, and he didn’t have the time to unpack everything he wanted right now. Aelin still looked at their hands, feeling too hard to describe on her face. She nodded.
“Lysandra and Dorian spent the week throwing a huge party for you,” It wasn’t exactly a surprise, Aelin knew there would be a party but probably thought it would just be her and her close friends. Lysandra and Dorian had another idea in mind. “If it’s too much, we can ditch. We’ll find an excuse.”
Finally, her eyes looked back at his face. She had a small smile on her face, Rowan’s heartbeat eased at that. “No.” She shook her head. “A party is what I need right now.”
Rowan wanted to disagree on that, but she was an adult. She knew what was best for her. “Then let’s party.”
Her eyes widened. “You usually don’t come to my birthday.” She was right, he had avoided these parties full of teenagers as much as he could, but he wanted to stay with her.
“I thought were an English major,” he teased her, pulling at her arm slightly making her smile. “What part of ‘you don’t have to be alone anymore’ don’t you understand?”
At that, she smiled so brightly Rowan could have sworn it lighted up the entire room.

TFATWS
Word Count: 2,923
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x BlackFem!Reader
Warning: Swearing, arguing.
Summary: Y/N rides along with Sam, Zemo and Bucky to Madripoor.
A/N: I know this episode is over used but I write this and I just wanted to give you guys something after been absent for so long. My birthday is next week and I’m excited. Enjoy this one-shot.
Tumblr media
They followed Zemo to his personal jet. An older man stood at the end of the stairs waiting on their arrival.
"So all this time you've been rich?" Sam asked looking at the jet. Y/N walked between him and Bucky behind Zemo. She hasn't really been talking to Bucky because of their argument.
It was basically about how he disappeared on her. He left without warning. The only reason the previous couple is around each other now because Y/N was there when Sam gave up the shield and decided to stay by his side through the journey. That’s how she ended up here on a plane with someone that broke her heart.
The reason why Bucky left because he’s scared to love. He’s scared that’s she was going to leave him because of his past since it was too much for her. So Bucky left and still hasn’t told her the reason why he did.
"I'm a Baron, Sam. My family was royalty until your friends destroyed my country." Zemo replied then spoke to the older gentleman in Russian. After the men greet each other the trio followed Zemo into the jet.
Bucky placed a hand on Y/N’s lower back to help her up the stairs, but she pushed his hand off. She had every right to be mad at him. Y/N really loves Bucky but he can't just leave her whenever he gets the chance.
Y/N sat in the chair in front of Zemo with Sam beside him and Bucky beside her. She nervously looked out the window, Y/N isn’t a big fan of heights.
"The fridge is out. But I will see if there is some good food in the galley." The man said to Zemo who replied in Sokovian. My nerves were getting really bad, She starts to fumble with her fingers.
"Y/N you okay?" Sam’s voice laced with concern. She turns to see them staring at her like a worried parent. Y/N gave them a small smile trying to ease their worries.
"I'm fine."
"Just checking Y/N. Why don't you tell us about where we are going Zemo?" Sam asked looking at Zemo for answers.
Zemo opened a book, "I'm sorry, I was just fascinated by this. I don't know what to call it but this part seems to be important." He pulled a little book that was inside the bigger book holding it up.
"Who is Nakajima?"
Bucky swiftly gets up wrapping his gloved hand around his neck. Y/N’s eyes widened from seeing how worked up he got up from that. All the nervousness about flying left her body.
"What the hell James??"
"If you touch that again, I'll kill you." Bucky seethed then unwrapped his hand from around Zemo's neck sitting back down. Y/N rolled her eyes at how dramatic he was. Deep down she wished it was her he was putting into place but no one needs to know that. (Our little secret.)
"I understand that list of names. People you've wronged as the Winter Soldier." Zemo said obviously not phased by what just happened.
"Don't push it," Bucky warned glancing at him then towards Sam.
"I've seen that book. It was Steve's when he came out of the ice. I told him about Trouble Man. He wrote it in that book. Did you hear it? What'd you think?" Sam amused but Bucky kept a straight face.
"I like '40s music, so..."
" '40s music? You definitely need to put me on some good music then." Y/N said engaging in their conversation. She thought it was kinda cute that he held on to the book Steve had. Bucky gave her a small smile.
"Whenever I get the chance, I will. Just for you."
Y/N bit her lip to keep from smiling to keep up the ‘I’m mad at him' act. But it wasn’t working.
"You didn't like it?" Sam asked shocked.
"I liked it." Bucky said giving him the face of 'duh I liked it.'
"It is a masterpiece, James. Complete. Comprehensive. It captures the African-American experience." Zemo said in the most formal way possible. Y/N gave a humorous smile nodding her head.
"That was one of the best ways to explain it."
"He's out of line, but he's right. It's great. Everybody loves Marvin Gaye" Sam agreed as if Bucky didn't agree. Y/N laughed at what he was doing.
"Sam, why are you still going on about it? James literally agreed."
"I like Marvin Gaye." Bucky continues looking at him.
"Steve adored Marvin Gaye," Sam said bringing up another memory of Steve.
"I have to go to the bathroom. Excuse me." Y/N held up the finger going to the mini bathroom. She struggled so damn hard in that small ass bathroom trying not to fall on her ass. Y/N soon came out to hear them talking about Madripoor.
"What's up with Madripoor? You talk about it like it's Skull Island." Sam questioned looking between the two who used to be villains.
"It's an island nation in the Indonesian archipelago. It was a private sanctuary back in the 1800s." Bucky starts while Zemo finished telling them the information.
"It's kept its lawless ways. But we cannot exactly walk in as ourselves. James, you will have to become someone you claim is gone."
Y/N glanced at Bucky who tensed up at those words. I knew it was going to be hard on him. Sitting back down in her seat, She moved the hair that was in her face.
"So who do I go as?"
"Miss Sapphire, one of the richest lady there. She models for every company you can think of." Zemo said showing Y/N a picture of a woman who looked exactly like her.
"Ooo I think I'm going to like this," Y/N smirked looking at the outfit that she was going to have to put on. She knew Bucky wasn't going to like it but oh well, its part of the job.

Y/N was beside Sam as they walked down this empty bridge. She kept sneaking glances at Bucky because he looked so good with his new arm. Y/N didn’t know she staring too long when his eyes linked with hers. She quickly looked away, face turning really hot.
"We have to fix this. I'm the only one who looks like a pimp." Sam complained touching his suit. Y/N rolled her eyes, her feet were starting to hurt from walking for so long.
"Only an American would assume a fashion-forward black man looks like a pimp," Zemo said. Y/N’s walk began to turn into limping which made her fall behind a little.
A little "Ow." came from her mouth, grabbing Bucky's attention. He slowed down walking beside Y/N.
"You okay?"
"I'm good."
"No, you're not. You just said 'Ow'. What's wrong?"
"None of your business James. I'm okay."
"So you’re calling me James now? And I know your feet are hurting Y/N. Let me help."
Y/N decided to be stubborn even though she wanted to get off her feet so badly. "It's always been, James. I'm able to handle myself, I can take the pain."
Bucky rolled his eyes, in a matter of seconds, Y/N was in his arms bridal style. Not in the mood to argue, Y/N looked everywhere but him.
"And it's Bucky to you. It's always and forever going to be that to you."
"Before you left, it was Bucky. Now it's James. You know what, I can walk myself." She moved but his grip tightened not wanting her to get out of his arms.
"No, I'm going to continue to carry you," Bucky said but Y/N didn't respond which made it quiet between them. She fought the urge to look at him since she was mad.
"I saw you looking at me and my arm."
She looked up at him fulfilling her urge and they made eye contact. Y/N quickly looked away nervously "Um, no I wasn't."
Bucky let out a laugh, "You indeed was."
"Was not."
"Was too."
"Was not."
"Was too."
"Guys! for the love of God, shut up!"Sam scolded from in front of them.
"He started it!" Y/N replied back like a little kid. Bucky laughed a little then sigh.
"Y/N, you've barely said a word to me today. Did I do something?"
She scoffs getting irritated from that dumb-ass question. "DiD I dO sOmEtHiNg?? Huh? Bucky stop talking to me before I say something I might regret."
"What? Y/N I just asked a question." Bucky said in defense. She huff rolling her eyes, 'a dumb ass question at that'
"No matter what happens, we have to stay in character. Our lives depend on it. There's no margin for error." Zemo explained as the car came into view on the bridge. Bucky placed her down on her feet when they neared it, opening the door for Y/N who climbed in the middle seat.

"Here we are."
Walking into the bar they could feel the intense stares. Bucky glared at anyone that looked in her direction. Y/N had to fight off any instinct to grab his hand. It wasn’t the appropriate time to do it.
You could hear the whispers of the crowd looking at them. "Is that the Winter Soldier?". Zemo guided them directly to the bar. A tall dark skin man walked over to the trio so they could order.
"Hello, lady and gentlemen. Wasn't expecting to see you, Sapphire and Smiling Tiger."
"His plans changed." Zemo nodded towards Sam. "We have business to do with Selby."
The bartender looked at Sam,"The usual? Anything for you Ms. Sapphire?"
Sam nodded his head while Y/N replied, "No, Thank you." The bartender turned around grabbing a dead snake out of a glass jar. She covered up her mouth to keep from gagging. Y/N turn to Bucky shaking her head no.
"Ah, Smiling Tiger, your favorite." I heard Zemo say from behind Y/N. She would’ve laughed but Y/N wanted to puke at the moment. She knew Sam had drunk it when Bucky looked the other way to keep from I guess laughing.
Y/N moved to the side of Bucky when a man walked up to Zemo from behind. "I got word from on high. You ain't welcome here."
"I have no business with the Power Broker, but if he insists, he can either come and talk to me." Zemo then pointed towards Bucky.
"New haircut?" The man asked but Bucky just stared.
"Or bring Selby for a chat." Zemo continued his deal. The man walked away not even giving an answer.
"A Power Broker? Really?" Bucky finally spoke up.
"Every kingdom needs its king. Let's just pray we stay under his radar." Zemo explained.
"Do you know him?" Sam whispered not wanting to give himself away.
"Only by reputation," Zemo replied. "In Madripoor he is judge, jury, and executioner."
Y/N leaned against the bar with my back facing the crowd. She felt a hand being placed on her lower back. The other hand moved Y/N’s hair from the side to show her neck.
"Sapphire, baby, we didn't get to finish from last night. Let's get out of here."
Y/N prepared to punch him but stopped herself when she heard Zemo say "Зимний Солдат, Атака" ( Winter Soldier, Attack.)
Y/N turn around to see it was a different man this time. He had a smirk on his face, as his index finger touched her bottom lip slowly then used the rest of his fingers running down her exposed chest.
Y/N had never felt so disgusted in her life. His fingers stopped on her boob when Bucky's metal hand swiftly grabbed it, crushing his hand.
You could tell that Bucky was so angry for him even getting close to Y/N. The man grunts out in pain as both of them walked away from her while Bucky still clutched on his hand.
The pair shared a quick look. The way he eased back into his Winter Soldier character bothered her a bit. Maybe he had it like a switch?
Y/N winced not really wanting to see none of the combat taking place so she turned around with her back facing the crowd.
She didn’t want him to feel he can protect her all the time. Y/N didn’t want to seem so dependent on him especially if he isn’t going to always be in the picture. When Y/N needed him, he wasn't there. Getting out of her thoughts when Bucky slammed the man that touched Y/N on top of the bar holding on to his neck, eyes never leaving his face.
Everyone around them starts to take their gun off safety. Y/N’s heart starts to pound as she looked around. Zemo placed a hand on Bucky's arms whispering.
"Stay in character or the whole bar turn on us."
Zemo says something else in Russian which makes Bucky let go of the man. "Selby will see you now." The bartender announced.
"Thank you," Zemo said then walked off.
"You good?" Sam asked Bucky concerned. He looked at me but Y/N quickly glanced at them then followed behind Zemo not uttering a word.

Turns out Y/N wasn’t the one she wants to talk to since she was just some famous model. She had to stand in the hallway and wait on them. Y/N was so uncomfortable, especially with what she had on.
Y/N heard a gunshot which makes her kick in the door. Both Bucky and Sam aimed the gun at her then lowered it.
"What the hell happened in here?!" Y/N asked seeing the bodies on the floor.
"We'll explain later, let's go," Bucky said grabbing her hand and they all walked out of the building. They walked through the streets hearing surrounding people phones going off
"This is not good," Zemo said looking around at the people who looked on their phones. They near the end of the street when bullets aimed at us. Bucky pulled Y/N to him as they ran in one direction.
"I can't run in these heels!" Sam yelled while he ran.
"You better learn today!" Y/N yelled back holding on to Bucky's hand since it was in the heat of the moment, not wanting to let go.

Sharon help killed off the bounty hunters they had on us. At the moment Y/N was in the bathroom getting ready for the party she was having. Finished with getting dressed, she walked out of the bathroom running into a hard chest.
"Oops sorry!"
"It's an okay doll."
Y/N gave him a small smile then began to walk to the room where everyone else was until Bucky grabbed her hand.
"Why didn’t answer my question from earlier? What did I do?"
"You know what you did Bucky. Is there I need to say?"
"I think I know what I did? I don’t know Y/N. Just talk to me. Tell me what’s on your mind.”
"To answer your dumb-ass question, you did do something wrong. You act like everything's okay between us when it's not! Bucky, you left me. Like disappeared on me without explaining why!"
"I knew telling you that I was leaving would crush you. I didn't want you to be hurt over the fact that I left." Bucky rubbed his hand over his mouth.
"Leaving you was the best way to protect you. I'm feared by many but that still doesn't mean you aren't going to be a target to hurt me."
"Best way to protect me?! You leaving hurt me way more than what you think it did. You're worried about protection but not focusing on my feels. You said you love me but you left like it wasn't nothing." I groan flustrated raising my voice. He couldn’t look at Y/N and it raised her suspicion.
“You’re lying Bucky? What is it? What is the truth.”
“Y/N... Please.”
“Bucky tell me!”
"I was scared Y/N! Scared that you were already planning to leave because of my past. I know I shouldn’t have left when you needed me but I didn’t know what to do. You deserve better than me Y/N.” Bucky confessed as his head dropped. I placed my hand under his chin so he could look me in the eyes.
“Bucky I could’ve told me. You leaving hurt me more than what you think it did. I love you and that means that I’ll understand anything you’re going through. I don’t deserve better, and I don’t want better. I want you Bucky. You’re not alone in this baby I swear.”
Bucky pulled Y/N to his chest, as she wrapped her arms around his waist. “I’m so sorry baby. I love you too Y/N so much.” He kissed Y/N’s forehead.
“Oh and I wanted to kill him so badly but I knew you weren't going to like that so I stopped."
"You know me so well."
Bucky apologized again, “I’ve missed you so much. I can’t wait to make up.” He began to kiss on her neck making Y/N tilt her head to the side so he could have more access.
"Hm, I'll accept it if you dance on the dance floor with me."
"No! God no. I'll do anything but that. You know I don't like dancing." Bucky pulled back groaning but she gave him the puppy eyes.
"Please? Or I'm going to stay mad at you."
Bucky rubbed his hand over his face, "Fine."
Y/N smiled jumping in his arms and they rested under her butt to keep her held up.
"Yayyy!! This is going to be fun."
"I’m only doing this for you baby.”
“That’s the best part.”
