The phenomenon where 12ft.io is listed in every post about "useful internet tools" and someone will always give a spiel about how it's based on the saying "show me a 10 foot wall and I'll show you a twelve foot ladder" is so strange to me

it just disables javascript! that's a built in 5-second function in the big chromium browsers and not that hard to do on Firefox! Why do you have a whole website with a graphic of triumphant hands breaking free of your chains?? why do people repeat the saying when it only works on exactly one type of wall?

and. you know. it doesn't work! it has been years since most major news sites had the kind of paywall or registration requirement you could just ignore by disabling javascript. Same for Substack and Medium. But you still see people helpfully piping up to say how wonderful it is, which says to me that they don't even use the tool they're recommending.

Identifying as a sort of in-between is always... odd? Strange? Those don't feel right but I can't think of the word rn

But for sake of example,

Identifying with the moniker of angel (fallen or otherwise) and how it relates to how I see the world (and how it affects my obsessive/possessive attributes)

People can be fairly neatly divided into three categories for me; followers, fellows, and those above (or gods, colloquially)

I mean there's people who don't follow those exactly (e.g. family members) but that's besides the point

Followers beget a more possessive demeanor. Those are mine, regardless of the type of relationship. Protectiveness, possessiveness (obviously), and this desire to consume them dependent on the degree. It brings about the urge to control, to manipulate, though I do cherish freewill and don't usually go into doing such things outside of things they would typically be inclined to do

Those above (gods) inspire the obsession. The cloying longing. The aching want and need in my chest when they aren't around. The absolute, religious reverence. The need of obedience on my part. The muse to every art piece I make, to every word I poetically put into place. This is something that is rare to find for me, but I've felt it before. There's feverish delirium that comes into play, it will physically make my chest hurt. I want to consume in a different way; not to consume into possession, rather to perhaps be made slightly holier for it. Never to a consumption in totality, of course, then how would I so worship and revere them?

Fellows are... well, that. Someone who also resides in the in-between. We swap roles and find equal footing. They inspire both the need to obey and the need to control. It feels comfortable, necessary to maintain that equilibrium of swapping places. If anything, it feels nice to have that ability to comfortably do so. This is something I can say I have only had one experience with, really, at least in this lifetime. Sure, I can entertain the dynamic with people in the other two categories, but it feels like a performance. This, though, never feels like a stage play if a swap occurs. It almost feels like play, a game, but neither is pretending. It's a deeply intimate sort of fun on a spiritual level, and it's... just nice, honestly.

I recommended Patti LuPone's album The Lady With the Torch to one of my friends who loves jazz. He enjoyed it and I was like "awesome, looks like this is where our music tastes finally overlap!"

The moment I discovered Romeo's eyes were hazel (Blue-Brown-Green) I immediately went feral and lost my mind ♡ Been staring at the blender model that Blue made as well and noticed scattered tiny perfectly rounded specks on his face?... Whether that's dirt or soot... I took creative liberties and decided that Romeo has beauty marks ♡

imagine you get casted in a play. every day you go to rehearsal. at first you get there and you keep messing up your lines and you don't know what to do or where to go, but everyone is ok with it and helps you out because you're new to all this.

after a while you still keep messing up and at this point you're like ok what's going on here because other people who are also newbies seem to be doing just fine. you start to think maybe there's something wrong with me, specifically and i'm a bad actor.

as the rehearsal goes on and you still have no idea what to do and have been given no instructions, you learn to copy what other people are doing and guess what to do based off patterns you've been observing. you still mess up sometimes, and you're definitely more sloppy than the other actors, but for the most part you can get by.

eventually you start to realize other people have been given a script, and you have not. what the hell. you look up "can people not be given scripts in plays" and the search results confirm it is a thing that happens every so often, and that not to worry because it will make you more creative. well thats cool you guess, but you still want to know your lines.

after finding out about people not being given scripts, you start to recognize it in other people. oh that guy seems like he hasn't been given a script, you think. later you see people yelling at him and making fun of him.

rehearsal goes on. you've gotten pretty good at pretending you have a script and know what you're doing. every so often the director subs you in for someone else's role, so you try your hardest but mess up anyways and everyone gets upset with you. it's not fair, you think. but you can't tell anyone it's not your fault because you weren't given a script, because you've heard people talking about the "scriptless" and seen how they get treated.

other actors start to get along with you better now. scenes go more smoothly. but whenever you mess up, they all get upset with you again. you try extra hard to seem like someone with a script, but it just ends up exhausting you and you still mess up anyways.

and something else: the script keeps changing. subtly, over time, you end up with a completely different script! adjusting to new lines all the time is burning you out, and a lot of the time you need to take breaks and just sit watching everyone. people think you're weird for this, you can tell. you've started to be able to tell when people think you're being strange. you start apologizing after doing anything, just in case.

everything about the play is stressing you out. you can't do this anymore. you end up caving and telling someone you don't have a script. "don't worry about it, you'll be just fine." they say. but they don't actually offer you any help, and if they decide to tell someone you don't have a script, everyone would hate you.

rehearsal is getting scary. you really want to sit out, but then everyone will question why you need to sit out, and they wouldn't understand because they have scripts and think you do too so why would rehearsal be any more stressful for you than for them? there's no way you can tell them.

doesn't that sound awful? doesn't that seem just so exhausting? wouldn't that just make you lose your mind?

By the way, if Hikaru IS Sarutahiko Okami in essence, the fact that he asks what Ruby's wishes are and congratulates Aqua'a wishes(that he assumed-having himself socially killed) having come true WORKS. Remember how the characters made wishes at the aratate shrine? That's Ai(Amenouzume) and HIS shrine. Together, they are the gods of fulfilled wishes. They work TOGETHER to grant the wishes of those who make prayers to them.

Ruby's wishes of outshining Ai CAME TRUE. It seems like he listened to it as a god and granted it.

Aqua's wishes of trying to get Hikaru himself "killed socially" and "avenging Ai" may ALSO COME TRUE. But it happened in the worst ways possible.

If he's that god, then he CAN actually make his children's wishes be fulfilled, he seemed pretty intent listening about them earlier. He seemed really kind about it when he brought it up; he was sweet about it??? Wasn't he??

The reason why the results seem imperfect or flawed is because he doesn't have Ai with him. Those two gods are supposed to do this together. I think it's because Hikaru's become either too fallen or corrupted AND alone that the wishes are granted but in a distorted manner.

To add, it seems like he can't make his own wishes of seeing Ai again come to a reality. No one makes prayers for a god, they grant wishes but never have their own wishes being granted...

Ai's made a wish for him on his behalf. I really hope it does come true somehow. SAVE HIM. Ai wanted it. I really can't bring myself to let that go;;
