What about an AU where Talia's car breaks down conveniently close to an autoshop.
Gotham is built and divided by shady places and dark places, but this neighbourhood takes the shit cake.
Damian's been fussy the minute they got here, wooden toy sword waving dangerously from his tiny fist, aimed perfectly at three dark-haired boys arguing about directions,
One of them is named Jason. He reminds Talia of a black kitten she used to feed right under her father's nose, mischievous and sweet, " How can I be lost on my own turf?!"
Dick, from what she's seeing, likes to think of himself as the leader. She has the fond suspicion that he doesn't trust her one bit. Smart boy.
" Look, clearly, she's a very capable, independent woman who doesn't need a baby like YOU."
" I'm not a stupid baby! Tim's a stupid baby!"
Tim, who's nursing on a red robin pacifier, stomps his foot, '' I'm not a baby!"
"As adorable as this insult tournament is. Isn't this the place?"
Damian shakes in his baby carrier the second Talia steps foot in the autoshop. It smells faintly of oil and green tea and fresh, bitter coffee.
" B is gonna fix you right up. And then you can go," Dick is trying to wrestle Jason off, who's not in the least bit happy about being called a baby for the 10th time, " Just, -- OW, biting is againts the code! Tim, go get dad."
Damian and Tim, who have been sticking their tongues at eachother for the past minute, both roll their eyes at the order.
Their father looks nothing like she expected.
But then again, she never dared to hope she'd see him again.
Time changed, but he didn't. Those big brown eyes still put an uncomfortable knot of affection in her stomach, glowing softly with painful tenderness under long eyelashes.
Talia physically tastes the feeling of safety shivering down her back in warm chills. His name is on her lips like a silent prayer, a contrast to Damian screeching and wiggling and trying to break free from her arms to his.
Jason climbs on Bruce, who hasn't blinked once in the time he studied her with a frown, held onto his father's neck protectively. Bruce hugs back, pressing a kiss to the boy's temple. Damian hisses with jealousy,
" Bruce can't speak, but don't you think you can scam him because of it! Even pretty ladies have to pay."
Talia doesn't know what pain she prefers,
That either her beloved remembers her and hasn't searched for her,
Or the fact that he doesn't.
Either way. Explanations are owed.

Have You Ever Considered Craft Supplies Instead Of Drugs? Then This Might Be For You.
Kyōtani Kentarou x reader, sfw, fluff, 1,691word count
Tumblr media
His room for the most part was clean. It’s main function was for sleep though. This was apparent. His clothes, which were mainly basketball shorts and blank t-shirts, were scattered about in a way that told you he threw them there when going to bed.
Kyotani had told you to give him a few minutes, while he was in the bathroom brushing his teeth and struggling with the cap of his eyeliner pen. You felt comfortable enough in his apartment to check the fridge and see if anything was worth your while. But still you felt a bit like an intruder in his bedroom, which is where you had wandered off to.
The walls were white, mostly bare. There was a poster up for some band you didn't recognize, and another one advertising the Sendai Frogs that looked like he had ripped it off one wall to get onto his. You smiled at the thought of him stealing the poster from the grocery store display window or stadium parking lot.
You give his room one last once over before turning to leave. On your way out you trip over a shoe box. You would have just ignored it but a few tufts of paper flew out from the lid. You bend down to collect them but find that these aren't just trash from the shoe box. Quietly, and with a tinge of guilt, you kneel down to gently put the papers back in the box. The little scraps of paper you had found were actually sticky notes, you couldn't decipher the writing on them because of how faded and old the paper was.
You get one quick glimpse inside the shoe box on Kyotani’s floor. There are dozens of papers, printed photos, receipts, tickets, and what you assume are old keys. You feel like you've seen something very private of Kyotani’s and when you turn around to find him standing in the doorway, you gasp in shock.
“What are you doing in here?”
He seems more concerned and confused about you versus the fact that you are in his room. You decide sarcasm is the best choice of action.
“What? You embarrassed about me being in your bedroom?”
“Shut up and get out!”
Kyotani puts his hands on your shoulders and tosses you out into the hallway.
“Hey, hey, what time is it because we might actually be late to the movie now,”
You say pulling out your phone to get a glance at the clock. There was only twenty minutes before you were supposed to be at the theater.
“We’ll be fine, the trailers always play for too long anyways”
He says leading you out the front door.
☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾
When the team wins a game and you head out to eat with the guys afterwards, your eyes don't usually follow Kyotani’s hands so closely. You hope that no one else has picked up on your new habit. But last week's venture into his bedroom has left you reeling in thought.
Kyotani doesn't really like to be hugged. During movie nights he sits separate from the pile of pillows and bodies. He tolerates head pats and high fives. When he hangs up the phone you can feel how difficult it is for him to say something like “bye I love you” platonic or not.
You hadn't really considered it before, at least not so intently in relation to Kyotani. Most people were easy to understand in their affections and how they garnered it. Or if they weren't so obvious, they made some sort of distinction, a simple “I don't like when people do this” or “I prefer this”.
Being friends with Kyotani you had assumed that he was content with what people gave him because he never asked for more. He didn't hug you when you two parted ways, and you never forced him to. He didn't ask or push on others boundaries but now after seeing that shoe box you wondered why he had never advocated for his own. You thought perhaps it wasnt that Kyotani disliked those other forms of affection or care, but rather he didn't regard those other acts as affections at all.
The sounds of the restaurant fade back in as your thoughts simmer down. You feel Tsukishima and Yamaguchi next to you. Enthralled in a conversation about some show they had been binging together. Apparently Yamaguchi had watched a few episodes without Tsukishima and everyone found the annoyed, bitter expression on Tsukishima hilarious, the table erupting in laughter.
“You good? You've been staring at nothing for five minutes,”
Kyotani said to you before taking another bite into his food. He sat across from you, his elbows propping him up over his plate of food.
“Yeah, just tired today,”
You say shaking your head as if trying to wake yourself up.
As the evening wears on, your eyes still follow Kyotani’s hands. Trying to catch the moment of thievery in action. To see if your contemplations are grounded in Kyotani’s actions or rather thoughts with nothing to hold as they pass you by.
But as everyone files out of the restaurant, the bill already split, the copy of the receipt abandoned on the table, you watch as Kyotani lingers for just a moment, to pocket the slip of paper.
☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾
You couldn't remember the last time you had attempted to burn a CD. Was it you who did it or a friend? It was years ago though that was for sure. You had made three playlists on spotify, checking and double checking that they were private playlists. After arranging them and finding the songs that fit just right with each list you started finding youtube videos of each song. From there you converted the links to MP3 audio.
While your computer whirred and the audio filed loaded onto the disk you thought about decorating the CD cases. Of course covering the clear plastic case with glitter gel pen and cute stickers was very tempting. But you weren't sure that was Kyotani’s style. At the same time this was supposed to be a gift from you. You met yourself halfway.  Decorating one CD case like how you would have wanted, and the other with more of a Kyotani flair, the third somewhere in between the two.
When the CD’s were done you carefully placed them into their new plastic homes. Grabbing a black sharpie to scribble the playlist names onto each. You felt like wrapping them would be too extravagant so you settled for tying a ribbon around the two.
☽༓・*˚⁺‧͙·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .·͙*̩̩͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩̥͙ ✩ *̩̩̥͙˚̩̥̩̥*̩̩͙‧͙ .‧͙⁺˚*・༓☾
“What the hell do you want?” Kyotani says as he pulls up next to you on the curb outside your place. You had texted him earlier while he was at work, asking if could stop by after he got off. He has the window rolled down and you take it upon yourself to unlock the passenger door and climb inside.
"I wanted you to test these out"
You were hoping that you had done everything right with the computer. You hand him the CD's, he flips them over in his hands inspecting them.
“Is it cool if I take these ribbons off?”
You nod and he turns the car radio on to insert the CD’s. As the first song starts playing you turn to him.
“This is that band you like right? The one on that poster in your room?”
Kyotani is visibly flustered by this.
“Yes? Did you...did you make these for me?”
You throw your head back in a laugh.
“Yes, I made them for you,”
“Oh,”
He says in a rather soft amazed tone.
“Look, I didn't mean to, but when I was in your room the other day I tripped over that shoe box you have,”
You keep your eyes trained on the street outside the dashboard window. Unsure and a bit nervous to see what Kyotani is thinking. Tempted by curiosity though, you do look at him for a brief moment, only to find him also intensely staring off into the street. His face lit up red with embarrassment.
“I’m glad that I saw it though. Because that stuff is important to you and I want to know what you think is important”
The air in the car feels like it is clinging to your skin with tension. You think the pressure will start to crack your bones when Kyotani’s voice splinters the suspense.
“It's easier to feel something when its tangible, when you can hold it, it's why people still buy polaroids and go to museums and shit”
You nod, a jovial ease overcoming you as he continues to speak.
“I don't really like, uh, I guess physical affection or even talking or it’s not like talking, people call it words of affirmation or whatever,”
You hold the smile of your lips down, you don't want him to think you’re teasing him in this moment. You're just happy that he is comfortable enough with you to say such things.
“I know lots of other people like to have those types of things though, and I worked really hard to get used to stuff, but I don't know, this is what I like,”
He says gesturing with the CD case to you.
“I mean so like, birthday cards, post-it notes, bus transfers? Things that are directly attached to memories and people? Anything else you want me to know about?”
While it hurts a little that he’s struggling to talk about this matter, you can't help but revel in the unusual brash shyness of Kyotani. He does mutter something, but when you lean in closer to signal that you didn't hear him the first time he repeats himself.
“Event pamphlets. I know it's trash but I like it”
“Promise you won't get mad?”
You drawl your voice out and make it sweet so he knows you're messing with him.
“Hm?”
He says, eyebrow quirked in question.
“I think you'd be really into scrapbooking”
“Shut the hell up before I kick you out of my car”

Comforting Arthur on Christmas eve
Headcanons:
Its christmas eve and you are alone. You just moved to Gotham city weeks ago and decide to go for a walk in the park. A lonely man sitting on a bench caughts your attention. No one should be this sad an lonely tonight, so you invite him to spent the evening with him at your place.
* Its was that time of the year again and for personal reasons you had to spent it alone. You moved to Gotham city just weeks ago, feeling beyong lonely, especially now during the holidays. The christmas lights hanging above peoples heads, the colorful treees....nothing could cover the grey and harsh atmopsphere of this town. Ever since you moved here you wanted to turn your back on this city again and now that you walked through one of the few parks, the home sickness was growing inside of you.
*Strangers passed you by without even looking at you. You didnt asked for much. Maybe someone to look you in the eyes or wishing you happy holidays. But it seemed like this was too much too ask for in a city like this. Maybe it was a bad desicion to go for a walk this evening. But you couldnt stand being inside these four walls which didnt felt like home at all. Everything was far away, no emotions attached. You felt disconnected to everything surrownding you. So going for a walk in the snow was something that might help to clear your head a bit. You took a deep breath in. The air was icy cold and hurt your nose.
*The trees looked heavy, bending under the weight of the snow. As heavy as your heart felt, watching a lovely man sitting on a bench at the end of the park. He was wearing a hoodie, so you couldnt see all of his face. His clothes looked like he was wearing them every day, no matter how warm or cold the weather was. Clean but worn out like a second skin. You stopped to watch him for a while. He was smoking one cig after another, not looking up for once. Oh how much you wished to see his face. There was something about him that made you curious. The way his brown curls were sneaking underneath his hoodie, the way his hands were hokding the cigarette. He was different. And he seemed to be the loneliest man you`ve ever seen.
*After a while you decited to hide behind a tree. Watching him for more than ten minutes seemed too obvious and you didnt want him to feel your eyes on him, making him feel even more uncomfortable as he already was. And then after the 5th cigarette he was looking up at the sky. The snow flakes melted on the tip of his well shaped nose as he closed his eyes. he exhaled the smoke like it was the last cig he would ever smoke in his whole life, which clearly wasnt the case.
*It was obvious that he was freezing like hell and you wondered about if you should just walk up to him and talk to him. Keep him some company. Nobody should be this alone on christmas and the man looked like he didnt had anyone to spent his time with. After he dumped the rest of his cig on the ground you walked towards him. He didnt noticed you until you stood right in front of the bench. That was how lost in his thoughts he seemed to be. You could tell that he was homesick for something too. Disconnected. Abandoned even. From Gotham, people or the world in general.
*"Hey" you said "Would you mind me sitting here?" The lonely man shook his head "Nahh". And then he looked at you. he was beyong beautiful. Now that you saw his face right in front of you, it was obvious that he wasnt a drifter. Just a very sad individual with the most beautiful, sad eyes you have ever seen. Green with a sparkly iris. Like he was hiding galaxies inside his mind. No wonder he got lost in it. There seemed to be so much to him. How could someone like him be this lonely today?
*"I`m Y/N by the way" you offered him your hand. "I`m Arthur" his voice was as soft as the snowflake falling upon his dark eyebrows as he took off the hoodie to run his other hand through his hair. It was longer than you expected and looked soft to the touch. Soon it was wet from snow and you got worried he might catch a cold.
*"I`m sorry I just came up. If you dont want me to talk to you just tell me okay? I dont wanna bother you. I just....well i saw you sitting there and....no one should be this alone on christmas eve...." His face lighted up immediately. Arthur was thankful for what you had said.  "Oh...thats so....nice of you. I`m not used to people being that nice....to me" he replied. There was a hint of a smile on his face but it seemed hard for him to smile.
*You told him about how you just moved to Gotham and about your problems finding any new friends. How alone you felt since you came here and how much he reminded you of yourself when you saw him from a distance. Arthur was listening closely. His eyes never drifting away . He was looking right through you. Even thogh he seemed shy. The look in his eyes was so intense you didnt knew what to do but to blush.
*Arthur told you how moved he was by a stanger coming uo to him, and just talk. he admitted how much he longed for someone to simply talk to him and listen. So you did. You listened to his story and Arthur had a lot to tell.
*You found out about how he was living with his sick mother, taking care of her until he was committed to the hospital. And how lost he felt. Not just now that it was chistmas time. But in general. Arthur didnt had any friends or family beside his mum and was working as a party clown. He told you about his great dream of becoming a famous stand up comedian and you tried to imagin the man in front of you dancing around in a clown costume, giggleing and being happy. It was almost impossible to imagin it but it made you feel warm inside to know that there must be this other side of him. A side that wanted to make people happy, even if he wasnt feeling the happiness himself.
*The more you found out about him, the more you wanted to know. You wanted him to tell you everything but you didnt wanted to push him or to overwhelm him with questions. So you asked him very carefully but it was getting more and more obvious how much he loved the attention. being asked things about his life made him feel like someone finally cared. And you did. Arthur was a stanger by now but it felt like you just met an old soul that was connected to yours ages ago. Everything he told you about himself effected you on a personal level. And you wanted to do something about it. You felt the need to be the person who made him smile for real. Yo wanted to be the reason for him to feel save and warm and needed. And there was one way to give that to him tonight.
*You asking Arthur if he wanted to stay the night with him made his green eyes sparkle in a way you never thought was possible. The fine wrinkles beneath his eyes deepened in the most adorable way as a beautiful, shy smile was crossing his face. He was thankful but a little helpless. Arthur just couldnt belive that you offered him to go home with you to be save and warm. You told him that your home wasnt as beautifully decorated as you wished it would be, because you left most of your things in your hometown and didnt had the money to buy new christmas stuff but you had some candles and lights. enough to make him comfortable.
*Arthur told you about how he never experienced christmas in his whole life. Not even some candles burning. You both gut up from the bench, while you promised him that this christmas will at least be cosy and save.
*Arthur taking your hand while walking to the subway station came as a surprise. Maybe he wasnt as shy as it seemed after all. His hand in yours felt as naturally as breathing. Like you were holding hands for the past thousands of years. It wasnt the hand of a stranger. It was Arthur. The gentleness of his fingers enterwined with yours was so familiar . His cold skin on yours magical to the touch.
*You tried to feel the shape of his fingers with all your senses. The softness of the palm of his hand, his knuckles, his fingertips,...you never held the hand of a starnher before. And yet he wasn`t one. You recognized him as someone who should have been there all your life.
*Coming home you felt a bit bad about the fact that you couldnt offer him the biggest christmas tree he had ever seen. But Arthur didnt mind. He watched you lightening some candles with a tender smile on his face. You asked him to take off his snow drenched clothes and offered him a cosy, warm christmas sweater with some comfy pj pants. First you felt a little strange to ask him to put on your clothes but Arthur was flattered by it. He felt a bit embrarassed to take of his own worn out cardigan and expose his fragile body. He was way skinnier than it seemed under all the clothes he was wearing outside. His ribs popped out in a very fragile but beautiful way. His tummy looked like he was sucking it in but he wasnt.
*Arthur put on your sweater telling you that this is perfect because dark red is his favourite color. he slipped out of his light blue pants and into your Pjs, which made him seem even more innocent than before. His hair was messy from changing his clothes and he ran his fingers through it while he lit himself a cig, asking you if its okay to smoke in here. You nodded as you walked to the cassette player "Do you want to listen to some christmas music?" you asked. Arthur told you how much he loved Frank Sinatra and his christmas record. You couldnt help but laugh because it was one of your fave holiday records, too. He smiled as Franks voice started to fill the room.
*Asking him if he wanted to try some of your self baked cookies made him a little bit uncomfortable. he admitted that he was on some meds which made it almost impossible for him to eat something without getting sick. You felt bad for him but it made you happy that he wanted to try two or three cookies because he has not eaten one of them in years.
*When you walked out of the kitchen you placed a plate of sweets on the table. Arthur picked teh one with the smiley face and glaced at you with his intense eyes. He enjoyed the way you took care of him so much, he even ate another one. And another one. Very slow but happy about not getting sick. Some minutes later he was surprised how many cookies he ate. Arthur looked at you with love in his eyes, telling you how tahnkful he was that you brought him here with you, gave him some warm clothes and made him eat something.
*You watched his lips move as he was talking. The scar on his lip whispering to you how much it wanted to be kissed. Was it too soon yet? Arthur noticed and smiled.
*You put your face closer to his to let him know how much you wanted to feel his lips on yours. Arthur welcomed your half opened mouth with the tip of his tongue, whispering that he has never been kissed before. You couldnt belive that this beautiful man has never experienced a kiss, so you tried to give him the most wonderful memory of a first kiss possible.
*Arthur smirked as your lips parted again. An unkown happiness was spreading inside of him, making him feel light. He tasted like love and cigarettes. You wanted more but you wouldnt overwhelm him tonight.
* "You need some blankets, Arthur? We could...." you blushed.
"Cuddle?" he smirked.
"Yeah`?!"
"I would love that" he whispered back.
You reached for a huge, cosy blanket.
"Wanna watch some movies together?" you asked him. Your eyes focused on his hair reflecting the candle light.
"Sounds nice....I think Chaplin is on. Do you know his movies?"
You told him you havent seen Chaplin in ages and Arthur was very much excited about watching his fave movie with you.
*After the second movie Arthurs eyelids started to get heavy. He was getting sleepy in your arms, feeling save and sound. This was his first christmas someone allowed him to just relax and be himself. You softly kissed kiss forehead while he started to drift off into a peaceful sleep. You told him how much you wanted to give him a present but you didnt expected to not be alone tonight.
* Arthur put his lips close to your ears, mumbling: " You know what the best present  in the world is? Comfort. And with you I experienced comfort for the very first time in my entire life. Even if just for a day."
*And then you knew that this wasnt just a christmas present. Is was a gift that would last a lifetime.

No Matter What - Chapter 2
Tumblr media
Chapter 2
“So, any questions?” Newt asked after introducing the girl to the Med-Jacks, led by Clint.
The girl looked around, racking her brain for any question that she saw fit to ask. Truth was, she had a million questions but didn’t want to lay anymore on Newt since she had been badgering him with questions since they started the tour.
Finally, her head moved off to the right and the sound of a goat bleating caught her attention. “There are animals?” Newt chuckled. “Yeah. We have a decent variety. There are the goats, pigs and chickens.”
The girl grinned. Newt had told her the gist of all the different jobs and how a greenie (that’s obviously what she was right now), gets assigned a job.
“Are we allowed to choose our job?” she asked, turning to look at him. “Or do we have to prove our worth?” Newt smiled, “That’s only really for Runners. You have to be chosen to be a runner because it is the most dangerous job. The others though, you are given the job that best suits your areas of expertise.” The girl raised an eyebrow in speculation, “Well I have only been here a few hours. What if you put me with the Med-Jacks and I really am horrible at it but better suit being a Builder?” “Quite the thinker huh?” Newt asked, a smirk on his face. “Well, since you’re the first and only girl in the glade, I guess you can get a break. I’ll have to ask Alby though.” “Ask me what?” a voice asked from behind them and they spun around to see the tall black boy.
“If….” the girl stuttered, suddenly finding it harder to talk to anyone other than Newt. “If I could choose my job…. Minus Runner of course…. The idea of being a runner just scares me.” Alby smiled softly at her before patting her on the shoulder, “What job were you thinking of?” She looked back over her head at the small herd of animals. “Slicer.” When she wasnt paying attention, Newt and Alby were both looking at each other, rather surprised.
“What?” she asked, hoping she hadn’t said something wrong. Alby smiled, “Oh it’s nothing Greenie. Just, out of all the jobs you could have asked to choose, you didn’t exactly choose the most important job.” She shrugged, “If you want to be responsible for big things, be accountable for little things.” Either what she was saying didn’t make sense or she was saying all the wrong things today because Alby’s eyes widened and the girl didn’t realize that Newt had such a big mouth till then when it flopped open.
She bit my lip, “Did I say something wrong?” Alby snapped out of his surprise, elbowing Newt to clamp his mouth shut. “Not at all,” he replied, smiling. “I guess we’re just not used to a girl’s point of view but, now that you mention it, you make a valid point.” Her face lit up and she smiled, “Does that mean I can be a Slicer!?” Alby chuckled at her enthusiasm and patted her shoulder, “Why not? We want the only girl in the glade to be comfortable, don’t we? I’ll introduce you to Winston. He’s in charge of the slicers. Newt, tell everyone to meet at the Homestead in twenty minutes. We’re having a Gathering.”
Newt nodded before walking off. The girl didn’t fail to notice that he walked with a slight limp. She was about to ask Alby about it when he seemed to read her mind.
“That’s a story only Newt can share,” he explained. “I am the only one who knows the truth of his limp and I promised not to tell a soul until he sees fit to share it.” She nodded, deciding that it was only fair. Everyone has their personal issues or past that they do not wish to share. Though she had to admit, there isn’t much she hadn’t told everyone… considering that as far as she could remember, her past started about an hour ago.
The girl followed Alby across the Glade to a small hut near the edge of the trees.
“So, this is the Blood House,” Alby explained. “This is where the animals are kept and cared for until they are slaughtered. In the goat and chickens’ cases, we don’t slaughter then until their production level drops.” The girl nodded, before a tall, skinny boy with slightly lighter skin than Alby, bushy black hair and big brown eyes walked over.
“Greenie, this is Winston,” Alby said, introducing the boy. “He’ll be your boss.” She nodded and smiled at the boy. Winston smiled at her, his eyes lighting up.
“We get the girl!? Sweet!”
The girl sensed that Alby gave Winston a warning look to not make her feel uncomfortable about being a girl, but she chuckled.
“I’m excited to help!” she said, breaking the tension.
Alby smiled, Winston beaming like a little kid.
“I have to go find Gally, Minho and Newt,” Alby said. “We’re holding a Gathering in twenty minutes. Winston, show her what you can in that time but make sure to bring her along to the Homestead.” Winston nodded and made a salute motion with his hand as Alby left. Once he was gone, Winston turned to the girl with a big smile.
“Let me show you the ropes!” Winston dragged her into the hut which was one single room. About twenty feet in diameter, it was square shaped with four little sections, each section containing the sleeping areas for the animals. Goats and pigs were together, since they were the loudest while the chickens were across from them with a double sized pen to give them more room to run around at night.
Winston also showed her that the feed and supplies were kept in a loft above the pens which you could get to by way of a ladder.
Once he was done showing her around, he led her to the homestead which was the largest of the buildings opposite the Blood House. When they entered, the girl found that there were at least thirty boys present: everyone in the glade. They were all sitting in a group at one side of the hut while Alby, Newt, Minho and Gally stood together sort of set off from the others as if they were talking to everyone present.
Everyone looked up when Winston and she arrived, and the girl felt strangely uncomfortable with a bunch of eyes on her.
“Greenie,” Alby said, snapping her out of her thoughts, waving the girl over.
She hesitantly walked over to Alby who placed an arm around her shoulders and turned her to all the guys present…. Great!
“As you all know,” Alby announced. “Because the Greenie is the first and only girl in the glade, there will be a few changes around here. Nothing major but I want to make sure everyone understands this.” The girl glanced over my shoulder at Newt and Gally. Gally gave her a thumbs up while Newt smiled at her in a comforting manner.
“The Greenie will be sharing the hammock sleeping quarters with us but that does not mean you violate her privacy. Gally and I have been talking it over and we’re going to be putting a wall up in the shower hut, separating off one of the stalls for the Greenie. Just like with everyone else, the Greenie will be treated with respect and I know that none of you have to be reminded to not test her or see her as weak just because she is a girl.” A lot of the boys grinned sheepishly while a few chuckled. She knew they were remembering her arrival earlier and she flushed, feeling embarrassed that Alby brought it back up.
Before she knew what was happening, Alby had turned to her. “Anything you want to say Greenie?” The girl froze, scanning the faces before her who were all waiting for her to say something. Taking a deep breath, she cleared her head before nodding.
“For the record…. I have nothing against guys…. Before any of you ask…. And as far as past experiences…. I have none…. Minus this morning with Gally….” A ripple of laughter ran through the hut and she glanced at Alby, Newt, Minho and Gally who were all smiling at her.
“I just…. I just hope we can be friends….” I stuttered. “That’s all….” Before she realized what had happened, an arm had wrapped around her shoulders and it was Minho who was grinning.
“Yeah Greenie!” The hut was soon swallowed in cheers, laughter and clapping and the girl felt her face flush deep crimson. Minho let her go, giving her a firm slap on the back. Gally walked over and playfully ruffled her hair with his hand.
“Good to have you Girly.” The girl lowered her eyebrows at him, “I’ll really like it when I remember my name.” Gally snickered, “Doesn’t mean I still won’t call you that.” She reached out and slapped him on the shoulder, earning a laugh from the boy. What she failed to notice was a certain Track-Hoe standing next to Alby, glaring daggers at Gally with his usually kind and soft brown puppy eyes.
******
“I feel kinda guilty,” SheI told Winston as he showed the girl how to hang up her hammock next to all the others.
“Why is that?” Winston inquired.
She shrugged, “I know I am the only girl, but I don’t like the idea of getting special treatment. It makes me feel spoiled.”
Winston smiled. “Then don’t think of it as special treatment. Prove to the guys that you are worthy of being one of us, then you won’t feel like you’re getting special treatment.” She pursed my lips together, “how?”
Winston smirked, “I happen to know of a way.”
After finishing with the hammock, Winston and the girl walked across the darkening glade to where the others had built a large bonfire. They were almost upon them when she heard a loud grinding sound from behind them. Turning, she saw that the large entrance to the maze was now closed and the noise was coming from that direction… from within the maze.
“What’s that noise?” she asked Winston.
“The maze is changing,” he explained. “It does that every night.” A shiver ran down her spine at the noise.
“How come the doors close every night?”
“To keep the grievers out of the glade at night. It is the only time they try to come in.” A voice said from behind them.
She spun around to find Minho standing there, a smile on his face.
“Grievers?” she asked, “Do they enhance grief or something?” Miho chuckled but shook his head, “we call them that cause none of us has ever seen one and lived to tell the tale.” Her eyes widened in fright, “Yeah, now I definitely will not try out to become a runner!” Minho smiled before looping an arm around her neck in a head lock fashion. “Come on! it’s your first day! Let’s have some fun!”
Minho dragged her over to where all the boys were gathered. There was a table set out with jars full of suspicious looking liquid which they were actually drinking. Most of them were cheering on two boys who were wrestling each other.
“I thought fighting wasn’t allowed,” she pointed out.
“Except here,” Winston replied. “you can challenge another glader to a fight in the ring.” She gulped, “So…. I kinda broke that rule this morning?” “Not at all!” Winston assured me.
“I didn’t hear about that,” Minho observed.
“it was awesome!” Winston replied. “She got Gally in a headlock with her legs!” Minho’s eyebrows shot up in surprise before looking at her, “Wouldn’t mind showing me, would you?” She looked over at Winston who was giving her a puppy eyed, pointed look, whining. Was this his idea of proving her worth!?
She looked over at the ring, only to see Gally throw another boy with ease.
“Fine,” she huffed.
she could faintly hear Winston squeal in anticipation as she approached the ring. The boy Gally had thrown scurried out of the ring and Gally looked around to see if someone was going to enter. the girl stepped into the ring and Gally turned to face her.
“Hey Girly!” he snickered. “Sure, you’re up for this?”
She smirked, grabbing her ponytail on her wrist and pulling her hair back in a ponytail, letting a few wisps stay free.
“Oh yeah,” she stated. “If you promise to drop the nickname.”
Gally smiled, “You got a deal.”
The boys around us began to cheer and chant, Minho and Winston were cheering nearby. Gally came running at her. She quickly ducked out of the way and put some distance between them. Gally tried it again but anticipated her move and whipped out an arm to closeline her. However, she used this to her advantage and grabbing his arm, bent it and pressed It against his back.
With him pinned slightly, she dug the toe of her shoe into the underneath of his knees, causing his knees to buckle beneath him.
He was stronger than the girl and was able to break away from her. Before she could escape, his fingers closed around her wrist, grinning at the girl.
“Give up girly?”
She smirked back and shook her head. With her free hand, she placed my thumb over his pointer finger that was on her wrist. Her pointer she placed over his thumb.
Digging her feet into the ground, she kept his hand intact on her wrist before spinning like a guy would spin a girl in a dance. Gally’s hand was bending the wrong way and was straining to break free.
“Give up?” she asked back.
Gally nodded and she loosed her fingers, letting Gally’s hand let go of her wrist but he forgot that because of her last move, he was leaning back almost in half so when she let go, he fell down onto his back. The boys began to cheer as she crouched down and held her hand out to Gally.
“That was awesome,” he panted. “You’ve got to teach me that!” She smiled, “And have you use it against me? Not on your life!” Gally chuckled when suddenly he frowned, “Have you remembered your name?” She shook my head, “No…. why?”
Gally frowned further, “Whenever a greenie enters the ring with me, he always remembers. Except Newt. He remembered the first time he fell out of his hammock.”
She smiled but Gally’s words troubled her. Was there something wrong with her?
“Don’t worry her Gally,” Alby said as he approached. “it might just take her a bit. Who knows, maybe it takes girls longer.” Gally nodded before grinning devilishly, “Want to try one of my drinks!?” He rushed off before the girl could refuse and she gave Alby a death glare, only for him to smirk and walk off. Gally returned with a jar of the suspicious drink which he wagged in front of her face. He held it out to her but she eyed it suspiciously.
“You’ll like it!” Gally assured her.
He placed the jar in her hands and she was about to humor him and try it when the jar was taken from her hands. They turned to see Newt standing beside them, the jar in his hand.
“Don’t give the lady the drink Gally unless you give her fair warning beforehand,” Newt remarked.
Gally whined, “Why do you have to spoil all the fun?” Newt shrugged, “Maybe because i don’t want to have to save every greenie from trying to kill themselves by entering the maze after you scare the daylights out of them with your witch’s brew.”
Gally rolled his eyes and trudged off defeated. When he was gone,  Newt handed the jar to another boy before turning to the girl.
“So, how’s your first day going?” he asked with a smile that echoed in his voice, making the girl's heart pound.
She smiled back, “Great! Everyone’s really nice… in their own way.” Newt chuckled but noticed her worried expression, “What’s wrong?”
“I still haven’t remembered my name…. what if I never do?” she asked.
Newt smiled and patted her head which made her heart almost stop. “Give it till morning. If you cannot remember, we’ll think of something.”
His words put her at ease but little did she know, it wouldn’t be the end of it.

your destiny is an archangel
Tumblr media
title: your destiny is an archangel (drabble)
pairing: gabriel x reader
h&h sq: archangels
rating: pg-14
tags: following the light, being told to do something you have no say in, being forced into something that you didnt want.
created for @heavenandhellbingo
mentioning @sweetness47
H&H list
ordinary, you were far from it. your brothers were the Winchesters, your father was John Winchester, tho you were the youngest winchester you were still the ever brighter star in the winchester family tree.
your brothers often left you in charge of the impala and all the technical stuff making bullets and things like that. but this was your first hunt. this was the first time being out in the field after months even years of training.
your brothers had sent you to a simple hunt while they handled a vamps nest and a werewolf den. you enter upon the scene after speaking to the locals who all claimed to have seen a really bright light and heard screaming and voices calling their names.
you see the light and suddenly your surrounded by it. the light clears and you are being held back by what look to be several armed soldiers. 2 more walk toward you: one blond hair, blue eyes really ripped. the other chestnut brown hair, brown eyes also really ripped.
the guards holding you back made you drop your handheld as they forced you to bow before the 2 men standing before you.
Michael: why do you look at us like you dont have a clue what or who we are?
you were in a bad mood right then unsure of what would come out of your mouth you didnt think about it you just spoke.
YN: cause i dont you dumbass, now let me go or i swear my brothers will not be kind to you when they find out you have their little sister.
Michael: chill out little winchester, we know who you are... wait let me start this again. my name is Michael son of God archangel of the highest ranking and the leader of the army of God. this fellow beside me is my brother Gabriel also an archangel i believe your people would call him a trickster.
all you could do was stare, you were in a bit of shock and a state of disbelief. you were talking to angels, never mind that archangels, the biblical ones you had red about in the bible.
YN: okay so now i understand who you guys are, but what are you doing here and what does it have to do with me and my current predicament.
Michael: cause its your destiny YN to marry my brother Gabriel and become his wife. he would help you in your quest to help your brothers stop every single damn monster that invades earth.
you instantly looked at Michael like he had just blown up the state building in new york. you looked at him like he had just melted an entire city or brought the dinosaurs back.
but he did non of those things he instead had just told you that you were to marry someone, nevermind that it was the freaking archangel Gabriel. you were not sure of how your brothers, dean especially would react.
YN: are you guys insane? you are telling me that at 25 years old i have to marry Gabriel the archangel who spoke to the virgin mary and announced to her that she would bare Jesus. your telling me that when you both should know full well that my brothers will not like this idea at all... never mind the fact that i like earth i am not moving anywhere that isnt earth. nevermind the fact that my phone is ringing, its my brothers if i dont answer it they will get worried and come after me they know where i am and...
Gabriel spoke for the first time since arriving, tho his eyes had never left your form.
Gabriel: guards release her to allow her to answer her phone
The guards released you, you reached into your pocket and pulled out your phone answering it immediately.
Yn: hey Dean!
Dean: you took a bit to answer, everything okay.
Yn: well umm I found out the cause of the disturbance. But Dean it's archangels. I am being starred at by archangels.
Dean: I'm sorry what? Archangels as in the biblical beings. Did they speak? Do they have names?
YN: I have had the pleasure of speaking with the archangel Michael and the archangel Gabriel. But what they told me I have a hard time grasping the concept of. And your not gonna like it.
Dean: what did those douchebags want?
Yn: Michael said I have the destined honor of becoming the wife of Gabriel. Apparently God set this in his book long time ago.
You could hear the roar of the impala you knew that your brothers were now pissed.
Dean: stay there we are on our way there in 10 min.
The line went dead, you hung up the phone it was Gabriel who spoke next.
Gabriel: is everything okay?
YN: my brothers are on their way. They are coming here they did not take too kindly to the news.
Michael: as it is written the brothers Winchester shall come to bare witness to this auspicious union for it will bring some light into this world.
Gabriel: Michael, dear brother, can I take YN to speak in private?
Michael gives a swift nod, Gabriel holds his hand to you.
Gabriel: would you like to take a stroll with me?
YN: is this of our own free will?
Gabriel: completely..
Yn: then sure we have a few moments to kill before my brothers arrive.
You take the hand of Gabriel, the two of you walk away from Michael and the God squad. Gabriel turns to you a short while later.
Gabriel: how do you feel about this ordeal?
YN: honestly I don't know. I mean my entire life I've been trying to find the person I'm meant to be with for the rest of my life. all my life i have tried to find love before it sneaks up on me. when my father died i shut myself off from love. i have not thought of the idea of love in a long time. but now being told that i am destined to marry, i just dont know what to think.
Gabriel: what does your heart tell you right now?
you closed your eyes for a moment, taking his position right behind you.
YN: that you are good for me. that with a little work and effort we can be the happiest people on earth we can build a future together based on love, protection and kicking so much ass.
Gabriel at that point spun you around neither of you noticing the lights from the impala nor the people walking toward you. but instead he kissed you, your brothers, michael, the guards all saw this kiss.
the thing that snaps you both out of the kiss is a very very familiar voice speaking in a harsh tone.
Dean: YN what the fuck do you think you are doing?
You stand in defense of Gabriel as your big brother strides towards you. sam just smirked. you knew he wasnt as pissed about this as Dean.
YN: dean stop thats enough. i dont want to hurt you.
Dean: you would dare to challenge family? have you lost your senses completely? he is an archangel, your a human!!!!!
YN: its my destiny to marry him. for once in your life stop thinking the worst and just listen. please dean, for me. if you love me bro, you will listen to what Michael has to say.
dean backed off and went to stand near sam and started pacing. you nodded at michael to start talking.
Michael: peace be with thee Dean for i nor my brother nor my guard wish your sister or family harm. we bring this night news of great joy for all of you. this night ordained by God in his book is the night that i release Gabriel into his new life with YN on earth. i of course will return for the wedding but tonight is the release. whenever thee decides the wedding date my dear brother knows how to get ahold of me. Dean tho you are only ever looking out for your family, take a good look at your sister with my brother, tho they not have known each other for very long have started the release process. gabriel had no idea that the release starts with a kiss and ends with my pronunciation and blessing. but you and Sam need to agree as well otherwise your sister will never find her happy ending nor the ending you wish for her.  so what say the mighty brothers winchester. do you both consent to this?
Sam steps towards you and Gabriel giving you a big hug which you return. when he lets you go he speaks soft tones loud enough for all to hear.
Sam: i Sam Winchester, give my permission and consent to this destined union cause it makes me happy to see my sister smile.
you watched as Sam went to Gabriel and shoke his hand welcoming him into the family. then sam went to dean and had this little conversation.
Sam: look Dean i know that you are the older brother and your supposed to look out for me and Yn i get that but this is how her story is destined to go, we are still a family, just an expanded family and at least one of us should be happy in our lifetime of killing all the evil sons of bitches we can find. if you remotely care at all about our sister and how this will affect her if you say no then think about it this way. all mom and dad wanted for all of us was a normal life. with Yn and the destiny squad she gets part of the normalcy while we all still get to keep doing what we do and to top it off we get to see our sister be happy in the ways we never could dean.
dean paced some more he knew what the right choice was but he also had to convince himself that it was the correct choice. he looked at how you were smiling with Gabriel and he started walking towards you Sam became prepared to step in just in case, but both you and gabriel turned towards your big brother and watched his emotions reflect in his facials.
Dean: im such an ass. i mean i walked up in here acting like, well dad did when sammy wandered off to college. look sis im so sorry for how i acted and after pacing round arguing with myself i finally came to the realization that this is not gonna hurt the winchester legacy. in fact it will strengthen it. Michael i know that things are gonna change but tell me one thing, did both our parents end up in heaven? and is it possible for them to join us for their wedding.
you walk closer to your brother
YN: dean does that mean?
Dean: yes i consent you both have my blessing. but i wasnt kidding either that was a serious question.
Michael: unfortunately i am unsure. for you see, i do not know who is up and who is down im too busy training the troops for gods army. the matters of state are not up to me. they are left up to the one person who was anointed by god to do the job fairly. moses. but hey i cant complain. now if everyone is ready i will do the pronunciation and give my blessing.
You all take stance in front of Michael is you facing Gabriel, behind you is Dean, behind Gabriel is Sam, the guards stand away from us witnessing what happens.
Michael: Heaven rejoices this glorious day for here is one destined promise from God this shall be the release of my brother from his heavenly duties but keeping his connections to heaven, and into his new life here on earth with YN. Both of these 2 are about to become more deadly than anyone knows. I was there when YN was conceived. I told John that his daughter would be wonderful that her destiny would be full of family and joys beyond measure. My brother you have no idea how much pressure I have endured from father. When he told me about this day, what was to happen, he said I would feel the emotion of releasing you more deeply than anyone. Gabriel son of God angelic prince of the lower realms, do you accept this destiny as is ordained in the book dad wrote out?
Gabriel: yes I accept what is being laid out before me
Michael: YN child blessed by the upmost holy of hollies, sister to the brothers winchester who have become feared among the supernatural. now here before these witnesses do you also accept the destiny written out before you in the book of God?
Gabriel’s hand grasped your own, suddenly your fear was gone. this allowed you to speak.
YN: i accept the destiny laid before me
Michael: very well, your first task is to get used to this new life, within the time ahead heaven shall expect the following from you both: a wedding, a child, and defeating whatever crosses your paths. can you both promise that?
you nod as does Gabriel.
Michael: by the powers and laws of heaven in accordance to the written word of God i now pronounce this ceremony finished releasing my brother into the arms of this beautiful young woman forever. brother i believe you know what to do.
Gabriel pulls you into a dip and kisses you.
Everyone applauds, congratulations flow in from every guard then it comes to your brothers.
Sam: kiddo, you were radiant up there. That was amazing.
Dean: so I guess we need to start figuring out a sturdy place to put down roots.
YN: for now we are gonna be just as content living on the road with you 2 nuts and besides its the family business, just because this is my destiny doesn't mean i have to stop the family mission. To kill every evil son of a bitch that dares to reek havoc on the earth. Plus we don't have a definite set placement for much of anything at this time. Where to next?
That's when Michael approached you lot.
Michael: don't forget the promises and oaths taken here today. Brother to wish you all the luck in this new life of yours. YN take good care of my bro, he is certainly one of a kind. I'll also expect a formal invite to the wedding it's not every day one of my own brothers gets married. Now I must go still have to patrol the east part. Farewell, till we meet again.
Michael and the guards disappeared. This left you, Gabriel and your brothers, you took into consideration that you had walked to this location so as not to draw suspicion. And you certainly were not up to walking back to the hotel or where ever.
Dean: we have the bags and shit from the hotel, we are heading to Bobby's from here. There is trouble Kansas close to where me and Sam were born. Bobby's gonna brief us before we go, hell he might even join us. But onto bigger issues, the 2 lovebirds can sit in the backseat just no having sex in the car ever not ever. Rule number 2 I pick the music no one else does and number 3 let's hit the road to make it to Bobby's for dawn.
You got into the backseat sliding over gabriel, you were not stranger to conversation but you stretched out your head was in gabes lap, you were exhausted mentally anyway.
physically you felt fine. you felt amazing actually, feeling gabe just running his fingers through your hair and the lull of the impala made you just stare into the eyes of the man to be your husband with love and calming affection.
about 2 hours into the drive, you had fallen asleep. Sam was also sleeping, taking the time to rest and relax. this left Dean and Gabriel still awake.
Dean: for what its worth, you seem to see the best in my sister. i know this is very new for you too but know that you and i have alot to discuss if i am to train you and her.
Gabriel: for what its worth, i could see it in your eyes when you saw me with your sister, saw me holding her in my arms, kissing her. dude i get it, we will figure this out, we are going to approach this new relationship one step at a time.
Dean: by the way how are you feeling after the whole being released from the heavenly duties thing. after the whole basically becoming human thing.
gabriel: honestly it feels like i am floating in a suspended reality that could disappear at any point. honestly i love this feeling. i have to ask tho why are we going to Bobby’s right now. why drive through the night.
Dean: cause i know that YN will need to train, she usually sleeps off an adrenaline rush than crashes with a massive burst of anger in the morning. so if we get there before she wakes up, i will be able to set up the yard make it look like its ready for training. so that way she can spiral and we can watch while she tries to prove her worth. but she will do that for about two hours or so until she crashes on her knees crying.
Gabriel looked down at your sleeping form, knowing that your entire future together would bee full of these moments of learning and hard times together.
Gabriel: and how often does this happen?
Dean: only when something dramatic changes or after sam and i come home with broken bones and such. usually she will go into her burst after she resets us or patches her up. but i was thinking about this a while now, this started just after dad passed. could that have been the thing to set her hunting skills into over drive?
Gabriel: you think these are her hunters skills trying to break through. and what it causes her to crash after 2 hours. that doesnt sound right. i mean it does but it doesnt. you understand that trauma affects people differently, maybe loosing your dad was harder on her than she let you believe.
Dean: then why would she lie to us. say that she is fine when she isnt?
Gabriel: probably cause she didnt want you and Sam to look at her differently. she respects your opinion, as her older brother its your job to notice when she is not being completely honest and she probably does this to try and get your attention. she knows that you wont do anything otherwise so she has to try something else.
Dean had to stop for a second and analyze what Gabriel had just said. he realized that he was right, so within a few more hours you all arrived at Bobby’s. Carefully Gabriel carried you inside and up to your room. your brothers were gonna stay in the living room on the couch, in order to explain things to bobby.
Gabriel having now laid you on the bed pulled off your shoes and your sweater putting a light blanket over you. then he took off his own shoes, his coat and his shirt and crawled under the covers beside you. that was when your sleeping form curled up against him.
that was the first time he had felt truly happy. he passed out short while later anxious to see what the new life would bring. dawn rose high in the sky, the sound of bobby and your brothers arguing in the morning was a sound you knew all too well. you quietly stretched out.
Gabriel: morning beautiful.
you turned to him and smiled.
YN: morning, im gonna take the dog outside. im sure if you went downstairs there will be food for you. ill see you when i return.
you went out the door and downstairs the 3 men in the kitchen heard you, Gabe grabbed one of the muscle shirts out of the pile of mens clothes in the room before he went downstairs.
Gabriel: its an honor to meet you Bobby.
Bobby and Gabe shoke hands thats when Gabriel noticed that you were standing outside with the dog sitting by your legs as you stood at the barrel, with the hand held in your hands and just shooting the tree stumps out in the field.
Gabriel: now i finally feel like i am beginning to understand this thing that humans call love.
Dean: its a funny thing thats forsure. but we have a theory. what if you went outside and see if you could talk to her. she has threatened to shoot any of me, sam or bobby if we get too close but she might let you near.
Gabriel continued to watch you shoot the tree stumps. he just watched, he was waiting for the right moment to go out there.
Gabriel: i just hope that i can get through to her. if the great dean winchester thinks i can bring his sister back into the light then it must be true.
Dean: you know what why dont you go out there right now see if she opens up. cause im sure she wont shoot you down if you ask her if you can join her.
Gabriel hesitates a few short moments before he puts on his shoes and walks out the door. he slowly approaches you. Rumsfeld barks to let you know someone is approaching.
Gabriel: mind if i join you? your brothers mentioned that you might be over here.
You turned to face Gabriel... you were staring into the eyes of the man to be your husband. you felt your knees begin to go weak. you were unsure of the conszequences to what you would soon do, but you did it anyway.
YN: there is another handheld on that stump over there. just hold it like i am and pull the trigger aiming for the tree stumps.
gabriel mimics your movements and stances. you were the most radiant person he had ever seen shooting a gun. gabriel shoots the stumps with you for a bit. but your knees buckle out from under you and you break down in tears.
Gabriel: are you alright?
YN: ever since my father died, i have been living a lie. im no hunter, im not even a proper one. i can barely hold my own when im fighting my brothers, i can only shoot a gun when im by my self in this field with rumsfeld and nothing but the wind. i know i have worried my brothers, i know they are never gonna look at me the same way. im a fool for thinking that i could ever join the family business, help get revenge for dad’s death, i am never gonna amount to what my brothers are.
Gabriel: dont talk like that. you are every bit the woman that your brothers would ever want you to be. dean mentioned to me about how you mihgt just open up if i came out here. but that isnt why i came over here, i came to you cause you are my present and my future, im not gonna let you suffer in this alone. i know we are still new to this whole idea that we are to be married and such, but i promise you this you will never be alone. i might not be fully angelic anymore but i can still be pretty angelic when i want to be. part of my negociation with my brother about my release was that i get to keep my wings. so thats exactly what i plan to do. how bout we go for a nice flight? maybe to Paris, have some breakfast?
you got up with Gabriel for support, you had stopped crying sort of, but those tears got wiped away by the love of your life. you sent a quick text to Dean before Gabriel pulled you flush with his body, his wings came out and he flew you both off to paris.
this left Bobby, Dean and Sam in awe as they had just watched this take place from the window.
but that is another story for another time.

Bone-afide Buddy
for @smitemight Sorry this took so long! Things have been busy. I really hope you like it~       What a week you had been having. Work had been absolutely horrible, and you were reminded that it was thanksgiving- which you felt obligated to go to. To make matters even worse, the date you were going to bring broke it off two days ago. You just knew that if you didn’t have a date, your step-cousin Sarah was going to spend the whole night bragging about her relationship and purposefully making your lack of a partner topic of discussion. You couldn’t stand her fakeness most days but she was always particularly awful at family gatherings.
So now you found yourself posting a profile on a dating app with the clear instructions you were only looking to make friends for a family event. It didn’t take long before you got a private message.
[Stretch: hey. sounds like you could use a bone-afide buddy]
Was that a skeleton pun? Why would he...? You checked his profile and almost fell out of your chair laughing. He was a skeleton! It was definitely a pun. Even better! Sarah vehemently hated puns. You skimmed over his profile, already pretty sure he would be perfect. Apparently he had brother he was super proud of, and he looked fairly laid back. You messaged him back no hesitation in your mind at this point.
[you: Tibia honest, I really could. Are you really willing to pretend to be my date?]
[Stretch: well when you think about it, its still a date, just platonic. no one needs to know that though. do you wanna hang out first sometime before thanksgiving so its less awkward and we're past first meeting? make it less obvious?]
[you: oh hey yeah that's a great idea actually! Do you have anything in mind?]
[Stretch: there is a sweet cafe that I frequent, its pretty relaxed and I think youd like it]
[you: sure! How about you text me the details and we will go from there? Xxx-xxxx]
The two of you spent the rest of the day texting back and forth asking each other questions and setting up plans to hang out. Thanksgiving was coming up soon, so getting together had to be sooner. The two of you arranged a day and time and you went to bed satisfied with how things were turning out.
Later that week the two of you met up at a place called Muffet's. It was a lovely cafe, run by an attractive spider monster and little monster spiderlings. You spotted Stretch at the sitting counter chatting away to whom you presumed was Muffet. You thought you were early, only to discover that Stretch had already been there for over an hour already. After a somewhat shy greeting, you ordered your fave drink and snack and the two of you sat down at a little two person table by some bookshelves and a few potted plants. The plants had a few cobwebs but it was nice and cozy.      You went over the situation again, making sure that he knew he had the opportunity to back out at any time. He just chuckled, “hey its all good. we've all  bean there, and I don't mind helping out a new friend”
You covered your mouth in an attempt to hide your laughing. “Did you just??” Stretch just nodded and winked, popping a sucker in his mouth.          Once you had composed yourself, the two of you chatted about your family and little details. Once everything was settled you moved on to asking questions about each other. Stretch told you proudly about his brother, and a little about what it had been like on the surface for them. Before you knew it, the streetlights were flickering and you decided it was best to call it a night. You could always continue texting. The two of you parted ways, and as you watched him walk away down the side walk you grinned wide and called out.
“Hey, Stretch?” He turned his head to acknowledge you.
“Thanks a latte, it really means a lot,” you smiled. He chuckled deep, you blinked and he was gone.
The two of you spent the rest of the week texting back and forth, and playing video games together on your fave console. Thanksgiving came quicker than you had anticipated but you woke that day mostly excited. On the radio ‘I do Adore’ was playing and you got ready with a bounce in your step. Stretch was fun to hang out with, and you kinda missed him? You cleaned up and upon checking the weather, (it was actually going to be a warmish and sunny day today) decided on bright pink shorts, a green tank top and for good measure you threw on your big light yellow sweater. After grabbing something to eat for breakfast you gathered all your things, (keys, phone, wallet, check!) you put on your light purple sneakers and headed out the door. You figured you would wait on your front steps for Stretch to arrive. It was a nice enough day. He pulled up in a honey gold two door sedan and popped open the passenger door from inside. As you got in, you noticed in the back seat were a few bags with snacks and a large couple bottles of honey. You eyed him questioningly and he chuckled lightly.
“Figured it was a bit of a drive, just in case you got munchy before we got there. Didnt know if you had time for breakfast or not,”
You mentally squealed, that was super thoughtful, even though you had already eaten. You told him as much and he just nodded, turning on the radio. You didn't object, but you kinda grinned when you noticed the orangish hue that had gathered just on his nasal ridge. Apparently he had put on a playlist since Final Girl by Graveyardguy came on, and  that was definitely not top 40. You turned it up, and he looked over at you inquisitively.
“Its one of my favourites right now,” you shrugged. You were glad that you had already sent him directions, sometimes trying to guide someone by memory was a pain in the ass. The two of you enjoyed the rest of the ride there, it wasnt too long of a drive.       When you arrived, you jumped out of the car eager to stretch your limbs a bit. You waited by the front steps for Stretch, as he parked and locked the car. As you were waiting Sarah threw open the door.
“Ohhhhh y/n! You're here! Isnt that lovely,” she drawled out, pulling you into a very obvious fake hug. You stiffened like a board but let her do it anyway, awkwardly patting her on the back. “Yep. Im here. Yaaaay.” you retorted with a hint of sarcasm.
“Oh! But where is that guy you were seeing? Grams said you were bringing him?” she smiled mischievously, looking around you pointedly. You coughed, and pulled yourself out of her grasp.
“Yes, well you see-” you started, when Stretch's voice called out like a beacon.
“He bailed on our girl quite some time ago, so I'm the date.” He stated, pointing to a pin of a date on his sweater. When you noticed what it was you covered your mouth to hide the fact you felt like cackling. He putting his hand out to shake Sarah’s and she recoiled with a fake smile.
“Ohhh yesss. Well I see. I think I hear my fiancé calling, but please the two of you come inside.” she backed up and practically ran inside. You had to stifle a laugh. You muttered a thanks, and he whispered no problem. As soon as you stepped inside you were practically bombarded by children. A few were pulling you into the living room, some wanted you to come out back. Stretch kneeled down and beckoned them close, whispering something. They all ran off screaming and laughing into the yard, giving you some space and time to breathe.
“What on earth did you say to them?” you asked while clutching your sides laughing. He grinned in response.
“That’s for me to know, and for you to find out,”
you smirked and let it be for now. You looked around, it was a pretty full house. Your parents, aunts uncles cousins, a couple sets of great uncles and Aunts, and your grandparents too. It seemed whatever Stretch had said, had all the young kids outside in the yard. Some of the older teens were downstairs on their devices and playing video games probably.  Your thoughts were interrupted by your Gram calling you, and Stretch took your hand and let you lead him over.  He introduced himself quite suavely and your grandparents were clearly satisfied. The two of you sat near, and chatted a while. Sarah came in to the sitting room practically dragging her fiancé behind her, and almost shoved him in your face.
“Here Y/n! This is Greg, my fiancé. He is a lawyer, isn’t he just wonderful?” She gushed. The poor guy looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole.
“Nice to meet you,” you nodded, and he gratefully slid away into a corner beside Sarah's father.
“So. When did you start dating Mr. skeleton?” Sarah asked, plopping herself down beside you. You shifted over a little, but smiled sweetly.
“A couple weeks now, since what’s-his-face dumped me.” You figured most of the truth was a good idea. Stretch just nodded beside you. Sarah just smiled painfully and left you alone, she was clearly not going to get a rise out of you tonight.
Your aunt called everyone to the tables for supper, and Stretch led you to the youth table and sat down beside you. You blushed, he had remembered what you told him about thanksgivings past. After everyone at the adult table had said their stories, desert was served. The kids were nonstop telling you and Stretch their stories, and once or twice you caught him looking your way adoringly. It wasn't unpleasant, and actually felt quite natural. Like he just fit. After the meal was done, you let the kids drag you out both outside. You watched them play a few games for a while, leaning into Stretch sleepily. He just leaned back a little and let you doze off on his shoulder. When you awoke, you were laying on your front porch furniture with a note next to you. It read:
hey y/n, you had dozed off hard, so I just took a shortcut to get you home, everyone understood. Thanks for inviting me, I actually had lots of fun. cant wait to hang out again
-stretch
You went inside with the biggest smile on your face, and butterflies in your stomach.

❄❄The tiniest snowflake❄❄
Tumblr media
The tattoo is a symbol of the snowflake clan. A large intricate detailed snowflake made of warm hues of amber dusted in sliver, outlines in gold. Everyone wore the mark with pride, with honour. They were a clan of assassin's everybody knew that they would do anything for money. But they only went after thoes who the law couldn't touch thoes who hid in darkness, the unknown of society. But something changed after 300 years of loyalty. Their views changed.  After a while killing people wasn't enough they were hungry for even more power so they became something twisted. What was once a clan of protectors, hero's was now a name that scared everyone.
Seven-year-old Amethyst  watches the sky from her perch, her back against the tree trunk, her legs stretched out in front of her. This was her escape, high in the trees where no one could reach her. Isolated and alone, where eyes can’t see her and faces can’t sneer at her . A safe haven, her God given solace, but also a curse.
Loneliness.
It’s a double-edged sword.
Alone, she doesn’t have to listen to the poison that spews from people’s lips, washing over her and choking her. She doesn’t have to see the hatred and malice directed toward a not-so-hypothetical devil spawn or the jeering glee at the image of said spawn’s rightfully earned suffering and death for the crime of existing. She doesn’t have to hear stories and legends about the oh so great clan and how she tainted their bloodline. How her parents should have struck her down of her 5th birthday. She was useless, unwanted, something ugly that didnt deserve to keep living. All because of her being born quirkless. Was she really something tinted, twisted and unclean? Would she really be destined to live a life of hardships? Would she really die lonely and alone never to know love?
Their words cut deep than any sword could, even alone, she is trapped in her own head. When she's  with people, she at least has something she can take her frustration out on. Without them, her thoughts enter a downward spiral of anger and self-disgust.
Still, it is better this way, at least, that is what she has convinced herself.
Who can possibly stand the thought of being near someone like her?
She didn’t deserve to be born. She is evil personified after all; there is nothing good about her.
She's tainted.
And so her thoughts would go, on and on in an endless, self-crippling cycle.
However today was different something had happened something even when your evil the honor the clan once had wouldn't stand for. Someone died that shouldn't have, as assassin's they had one rule get the job done, don't be seen, but most importantly  do it right.  The family broker aka Nathaniel was in charge of the assignments who got A-E assassinations.
Going by all the screaming someone royal screwed up a A column assassination attempt killing the 3rd cousin of the target, the good looks gene must run very deep to look so much like each other that even your 3rd cousin could past to be you.
"They want who blood as collateral?" Screamed the monarch!
Nathaniel looked his long time friend and boss in the eye. "The assassin who killed the wrong man. I know this isn't something you want to hear believe my old friends but a sacrifice must be made as payment you know the law of the trade a life for a life."
"Unacceptable Nathaniel! I refuse to give up one of my best assassin's just because they didn't give a clear description. How was we to know that not only did they have the wrong person but that he had three look alike, he has the picture on him saw his target made the kill end of story. If they want a sacrifice they'll get on. I'm a man of my word and I follow the rules however they will not be getting the killer. Instead you can repay them with little miss worthless. I've been trying to find out a way to get rid of the brat for a whole year." The monarch gave a killer smile.
Nathaniel couldn't say he didn't see this coming. His old friend could be a hothead. Signing he nodded his head while making a call to set up preparations for the transfer.
Amethyst  couldn't believe her ears she was being sold.  Quickly and quietly she climbed  down from her hiding spot making it back to her room just in time for the door to be busted open. Raymond her uncle drags her before the gathered clan members throwing her down before the monarch.  Amethyst kept her eyes to the floor she wasnt allowed to look up to anyone unless being told otherwise. From there she listened to the clan speak about her, laughing and calling out words of happiness that she will no longer be their problem. The monarch spoke up calling the attention to be once again on himself. He announced that she will no longer live here from now on. Amethyst doesn’t know what to think. She didn't understand even if given as payment what could she possibly give, what use was she, was a nobody, she was quirkless though she did know how to fight she learnt by watching in serect her clan thought so much of themselves that they viewed she couldn't do anything yet she was quieter than the most skilled in stealth and was the lightest on her feet out of the whole clan. Well that came from being underweight. She might not look it but she was indeed much lighter than she looked.
Her face most have gave her away because next thing she knew she smacked hard enough she saw stars. She must had caught the side of her cheek between her teeth, blood pulled inside her mouth. Yet she stayed submissive low to the ground her head never once lifting higher. The monarch was angry, no pissed he sneered at her and spat in her face that she would be a prefect slave. That she would listen to each and every instruction place upon her and was expected to fulfill each task perfectly. She was also warned if she failed to do as told even death wouldn't be merciful for what they would do to her. Amethyst nodded silently brushing the spit and blood on her ragged clothes.  Next to the monarch stood his wife the misstress or shedevil in her book.
She rattled off a list of things such as her new training, no longer would she clean and cook. She had maybe a few weeks to months till the transfer was to be completed. Her training was in effect immediately. Shedevil order the clans women to teach her how to walk seductress not knowing what type of slave she would become. Shedevil explained that even though she was young and no one would touch her she must learn how to be a hostess.
From that night on till the night of her be shipped off she trained, walk like a lady, talk and listen like the person in your company hung the very moon themself. She was given better clothing too, she trained her voice to be softer sweeter, musical. The males of the clan showed her how to assist them in dressing while the woman did the same too just in case she was made into a lady in waiting. The cooks were given the task to show her how to make many different drinks. The monarch and shedevil gave little praise to her picking up her skills hastily. Little did they know Amethyst was always a fast learner dare say she was a genius not that anyone took note of it. After many weeks of hard training the day had come she was being transfer many states of to a underground strong held ran by the strongest family the mafia.
When Amethyst came too, the first thing she registered was pain.
Burning, searing pain. The kind of pain she hadn’t felt in weeks. Not since she started her new training. Her newest owner hated her by sight called her ugly and unsightly, that her skin tone was a eyesore, that her curly natural hair was dirty looking even though her hair was washed and scented with warm lavender and coconut oil for some reason her Misstress hated her. Amethyst was no stranger to to racism she knew prejudice when she saw it.  She couldn't feel the weight of her own hair anymore, tentatively, slowly she ran her hand across her head, where once laid shoulder length hair pulled into a bun. Now was a tiny curly afro, someone had lopped off her hair. She felt empty; the constant warmth of her hair provided was no longer there to soothe her. It was agonizing; her back felt like it was on fire, skin and flesh seared down to bone. It hurt to move, hurt to breath. It was agonizing. But Amethyst  clenched her jaw and grit her teeth, refusing to let any sound escape, refusing to let them know she was in pain, refusing to give them the satisfaction. She may be a slave, but she was not broken. Not even her own clan had broken her and neither would her new mistress.
As the pain in her back dulled, she let her senses take over. She was lying on her stomach, the surface beneath her hard and cold, a sharp contrast to her back. Something cool was locked in place around her neck, wrists, and ankles. A collar. Shackles. And suddenly, with startling clarity, Amethyst  realized that the burning pain in her back was a brand. She hadn’t just been sold. She was branded as a plaything in essence she was a pet.
Fury coiled in her gut and rage bubbled up her throat. Not even her own blood stooped to  something so cruel even if she was viewed as worthless scars on the back was a warriors shame. Even though she was beat upon they never once marked her back out of honor.
Amethyst cried, tears burred her eyes, tightly clamped lips cut off any noise trying to make its way out. She had read stories about this; that some people marked their property like animals.  She’d always thought it odd that she never heard to clan brag about offing such ones where in the grand hall of history she has read about such ones. Back in the day her clan hunted such ones down.  So why was these people permitted to do such a thing to her, why were they able to keep breathing?  Amethyst had her answer now. And it sickened her greatly . Their lives were spared  because her clan fell so far from honour and grace that their love of money and possible fame made it so that they supported this disgusting practice.  The only reason why her clan was so know now wasn't because if their Legacy. NO they were in the back pocket of the government pretending to be honorable.
Amethyst  was pulled out of her thoughts when cool air brushed over the wound on her back. Her eyes snapped open of their own accord and she was met with the sight of a older boy. A very, very tall boy. He was thin, startlingly so, but his face somehow still held the roundness of a child’s. Maybe 15 no older then 17 He had big, grey eyes, a large scar across his nose, and a mop of black hair. He wore nothing but a pair of worn and ragged pants, no shirt, no shoes. His wrists and ankles had thick black shackles, but the collar around his neck showed his strength a first classes high tech quirj collar Amethyst  didn’t need to see his back.
This teen was a slave and very powerful.
Her eyes flitted around the room they were in. Or rather, the cell. It was medium sized, the floor, ceiling and three of the walls made of cold, unforgiving stone. The fourth wall was made of metal bars. Amethyst saw a hallway possibly the way out. She could see another cell across from their and what looked to be a storage room might hold supplies.
Her vision was obscured by another face in front of her's. “So,” he drawls from her eft in the darkness of the cell, and Amethyst freezes, “Awake finally. Your very interesting, little one I heard the guards say your quirkless yet I noticed your eyes flash. Shhhh... your okay there is no need to panic they haven't seen it. You've been here about a few months this is first time you've stayed awake though. I'm glad your alright.”
Months? Amethyst doesn't remember that only the first day of meeting and possibly a few hours after that. So she's been here longer than what she thought, Amethyst thinks it would be best not to answer him however he was the only one here with her. Company would be nice maybe since he been here longer he knew things. She licked her lip once twice then and third time befor clearing her throat. "I'm Amethyst." She rasping out.
"Pleasure to meet you, I'm Hatsuharu though I go by Haru. My friends call me dark Haru as a joke because of my quirk. It's void and sentinel my quirk gives damage boosts to my allies, but it draws my opponents attention and focus AWAY from my allies and towards the user, allowing for the perfect distraction! Because it's basically a taunting quirk, a defensive abilities activated. The cold air you felt on you when you first woke was me using my quirk on you, I've been here for a long time wearing these, I've kinda grown a somewhat immunity to the quirk suppressors. I'll help you out anyway I can."
"Why? What’s in it for you?”
This one was different then the other slaves that came through here. Haru could see that he knew the quirkless was treated like dirt less than everything hell trash was viewed better. Amethyst read him the way he’s standing, searching for any weaknesses, searching for any hint of ill meaning. And maybe a better word would be analyzing. This girl wasn’t just reading him. She was completely analyzing him, and she was about as ready as one can be to jump out if Haru would make any sudden movement. Despite hurt she could still fight.
“Nothing.” Haru shrugged.
“Impossible. No one offers without expecting something back.”
"I've heard what they have in store for you once you come of age I want to help you. But I'm gonna need your help too, i need to get home. They think your quirkless you might be a late bloomer or possible a rare case of a forced quirk mutation from all the hardships. Your quirkless so I know your life hasn't been easy. I'll watch out for you and you do the same for me. With them thinking your quirkless they'll underestimate you."
For a few seconds, silence falls in the cell again, and then the same voice replies in dry, almost flippant tones, “Your underweight tiny but a fighter i can tell just looking at, youve probably foiled everyone. But not me before becoming a slave i was a vigilante."
Wait he said Months didn't he?
Amethyst  had to concentrate on breathing for a minute, in and out, in and out, until the strange tangle of panic and grief that hits her out of nowhere fades again.
“Haru,” She eventually croaks out. She pauses, then forces out, “How… many months … has it been?”
“Not sure exactly,” Her cellmate - Haru - answers easily. “I think we get fed once a day, but I didn’t know that at first so I didn’t bother counting, and I’ve probably missed a few days here and there. As close as I can tell though, it’s been almost  six months since they stashed you in here with me, give or take. If you were in a different cell before, I wouldn’t know.”
Six month. Six months . Six-
“Hey, calm down,” Haru cuts in, and for the first time, something sharp enters his voice. “If the guards see you throwing a fit, they’ll gas us unconscious. And that’s all they’ll do if we’re lucky,
but considering the fact that we’re here at all, luck screwed us over a long time ago.”
Amethyst drags in a shaky breath that rattles down her throat and feels like it gets stuck somewhere in her chest. She does it again and again until she regains a thin veneer of calm that at least allows her to think. The muscles in her back burn with each breath.
Six months. In a way, it feels like it’s been even longer than that. But, she thinks, some part of her still clung to the hope that it hasn’t been months, maybe days at most, and…
(And she promised herself, deep down, that if she ever got out her family would pay back for everything in tenthfold every scar, the abuse the hardships. Everything. She'll grow stronger she'll get as far from America as she could, she'll make a name for herself she'll live and maybe find someone who will love her.  And live her life to the fullest.
She knew what it sounded like, a fairy tale, and she learned a long time ago that there’s no such thing in real life, so she knows full well that if a life of comfort full of love and happiness and a family of her own is what she wanted she'll have to put in the blood, sweat and tears.)
She lies there in the darkness for a while, just… digesting everything, and her cellmate doesn’t interrupt. Her thoughts turn to Haru which is an easier subject to focus on than how much time she's lost. Older than her, and strong by the looks of.  Smarter than her. Skilled too.
“You said… since they put me in here with you,” she frowns. “How long… have you been here?”
Haru hums, and there’s a note of surprise in the sound, like he didn’t expect her  to pick up on that, or maybe to ask about it at all. “Dunno. Like I said, I didn’t count at first. I had no way to tell morning or night my eyes were covered at first for weeks. But maybe three years or so? Had the cell all to myself back then. My will was stronger back then I broke out a few times too each time I did I was caught and drugged till they had enough they broke both my legs and put this high end collar on me. I stopped trying after.
“How old are you?” she asks abruptly.
Haru doesn’t answer right away, and when he does he looks sad. "I had just turned 16 when I was captured. I was out on patrol with a buddy of mine. We heard of kids being taken of the streets so I was watching over the children who walks home I kept everyone safe except myself."
“I’m fairly certain that you did your best if your the only one who ended up here.” Amethyst explained.
“True as that maybe i still shouldn't have been taken,” Haru volleys back without missing a beat, and Amethyst sighs and lets the matter drop.
“Why are you in here?” He asks instead. “how old are? I can't till your very short.”
"I'm here as payment, a life for a life, my family are hired assassin's someone murder the wrong person. Normally the guilty person gives their life however the monarch of my family gave me in their place. As for my page if I really been out for weeks then I just turned eight years old.
Thank you so much for your help my lovely friends.

My dearest Friend.. (M)
Chapter one.
*Trigger waring: violence, rape(in further chapters) p.s.... im sorry for writing this but It just happened and I cant get the plot out of my head.
Based off the inspiration that this photo gave me.
Tumblr media
'I'm not too sure when it all really started, maybe a few months after we started school together, but… Kaa-chan has always picked on me one way or another, whether for my intellect, my appearance or the fact that I was born a quirkless nobody…'
Pin pricks of ink dotted around in a general area of the journal as Midoriya ran a hand through his soft messy green locks, a long sigh slipping past his lips as he tried to go deeper into his thoughts, wanting to make his entry tonight mean something more than just mindless drabbles.
'When we got into middle school it started turning into something more than just light teasing, maybe it was because Kaa-chan's body was changing inside so his brain really couldn't tell him it was wrong. Even though I really didn't mind the teasing. At the end of the same day he was still Kaa-chan to me and i was still Deku to him, that was fine right? That's how it was supposed to be between the two of us.'
"Midoriya! Everyone's already downstairs for dinner, are you coming out of your room or not?"
Setting his pen down for a moment Midoriya turned to look at Kirishima who had popped his head into the room, and with a smile on his face he nodded and gave him a small thumbs up. "I'll be down in just a minute, I'm just finishing up some homework that Sir Nighteye gave me during today's work study."
He watched as Kirishima's face took on an unreadable expression for a moment before the fiery red head nodded and smiled before exiting. "Just don't take too much longer, Tsu made dinner tonight and you know how she gets when you skip her meals."
Midorya laughed slightly as he scratched at the nape of his neck. "Yeah yeah i know!" As he stared at the door waiting for a few moments his smile dropped as he thought back to the expression that had crossed over his friend's face for that brief moment, he could only imagine what the boy had been thinking. Turning back to his journal he picked his pen back up and let out a heavy sigh, pressing the tip into the paper to finish off his entry for the night.
'I don't really know how much longer kaa-chan is going to be like this towards me, whether this more aggressive side of him is just a phase or.. if he really does hate me for being picked by all might just like he said. I can never tell if he's being truthful or just saying something to get me off his case. Anyway, we are still friends, no matter what I know he still cares.. I can tell he cares, he just has a strange and unethical way of showing it.'
He closed his journal and finally stood from his desk, taking a glance around the darkened room he gingerly slid the thin journal underneath his heavy mattress. "Alright, time to eat." He murmured to himself as he finally exited his room, taking careful and quiet steps down the stairs to the main hall where he knew everyone would be gathered.
"I'm sorry if I'm late guys! I was almost done with my homework." Midoriya slid into one of the open seats and looked over at Tsu as she set a plate of food in front of him. "Thank you, it looks great as always Tsu!" He let the compliment roll off his tongue, a wave of an undesirable feeling washed through his nerves as he felt daggers digging into the back of his neck. He didn't have to turn around to know where it was coming from, he knew it was Bakugo, it was always Bakugo. No matter where he ventured, whether it was into the city or within the confines of their dorm house he was always there.
His head lowered as he sank into his seat just a little bit more than usual. "Don't thank me Midoriya, I just wanted to make sure you got your dinner  too. I heard you have some training today with Mr. Aizawa." It was great that she cared, he enjoyed having friends around him that would care for his well being since gods knew he wouldn't do it himself. Even his mother, Inko would always call him once she knew he was out of class just to make sure he hadn't skipped lunch that day. Bless her heart, she was always so concerned about him and it was a good thing too.
He had to admit, if it weren't for Uraraka and Tsuyu he didn't think he would be able to keep up his strength as well as he had been on his own.  "Yeah.. but still Tsu, thank you. I'll enjoy every bit of it!"
As he went to take the first bite of his breakfast a wad of paper landed on his plate, the snickering from behind him caused a shiver to run down his spine. He squirmed uncomfortably in his seat as he set the paper aside and picked up his plate, slowly standing. "I think I'm going to eat on the porch this morning.." he whispered solemnly as he lowered his head, attempting to scoot past the grumpy blonde. But the second his foot caught on something he landed face first into his plate of food, eyes scrunched  to not get anything in them.
"Watch where you're going you damn nerd." Bakugo hissed as he knocked his foot into Midoriya's side, just barely missing his hip bone. It was on purpose, and Midoriya knew that… Everything Bakugou did to him was never unintentional, and it hurt. He quietly pushed himself up off the floor, leaving his ruined plate as he rushed out of the common room and into the nearest bathroom, heart pounding as the tears that threatened to spill over just kept building up. He slammed the door shut behind him and pressed his back against it, trying to clear the food away from his eyes so he could open them.
It wasn't an issue of the torture that Bakugou always put him through, no that wasnt why he high tailed it out of there. There was something so much worse going on that pressed further into his mind. Something he would never let come to light. It was painful, to have someone who he considered to be his childhood best friend treat him in such a manner, to bring these feelings forward, and it was even worse to admit to himself that he enjoyed the pain that Bakugou put him through. Though he had to admit it, even if just to himself…
The lock clicked behind him as he pushed away from the door, refusing to look at himself through the mirror as he turned the sink on, beginning to wash the wasted food off his skin. Some of it burned, having been fresh off the stove. Tsuyu must have kept it hot for him while he had been finishing his journal entry for the night. When he finally lifted his head to meet his own eyes he simply stood there, staring back at his own reflection.  He felt like a failure, couldn't even stand up so someone he considered a friend despite everything they had done to him over the last few years, but how could he? When the same pain inflicted upon him by that very friend brought him so much sickening joy.
He brought a hand down to press over his now bruised hip, hissing as his fingers dug into the area. Lifting his shirt he examined the blotches of purple and yellow that were blossoming against his skin, his eyes slowly drifting to the tent that had formed in his shorts and a heavy hearted breath left his lips. 'Why am I this way?' He began to think to himself as he rid himself of his clothes, stepping into the tub as he started to let the water fill up. Sinking down to his knees once the scalding water began to rise. 'I can't stop it anymore, why does this keep happening? Why him of all people?'
Midoriya's mind was far too flooded to think rationally as he clasped his fingers around his growing erection, a needy breath leaving his lips as he squeezed the base of his cock. The water that continued to lick as his thighs only egged his arousal on further, his eyes fluttering closed as he leaned back, propping himself against the back of the tub, one leg pressed against the side of the porcelain that framed his body. His hips rocked in time with his strokes, jaw taught to keep himself quiet as his head tipped back against the wall behind him.
His free hand slipped down between his legs, hips lifting as he pressed two slim digits past the tight ring of muscle and deep inside of himself. Wiggling down further into the tub as his back arched, one hand working desperately to stretch himself out and find that spot deep within his ass that would bring stars to his closed eyes. This is what he had become, a disgusting version of himself that got off on being bullied and beaten by one of his closest friends and he hated every second of it. There was something wrong with him, something within his mind had changed over the years and he wasn't sure when it had started but it did.
A gasp left his lips as his climax finally hit, spurts of cum mixing with the water than now came up to his chest, he pulled his hands away and started to tear up again this time the tears spilled over and streamed down his cheeks, soft sobs and hiccups left him as he sat there in his own filthy water, fingers curling into his green locks. "I'm disgusting.. I'm so sorry Kaachan.." The words came out broken as he tried to speak through his own sobs. Bakugou could never find out about any of these feelings, it would surely mark the end of his life if he ever found out.

Suspicious Nature Part 3
[Beginning] // [Previous] // [Next]
Dean nodded and followed the Omega, into the small room. He eyes kept on Castiel to ensure he didn’t wake up. “Gabriel is it? Will you do your King a favour and tell me where the Knight Commander’s private quarters are?” Dean asked, looking down upon the small Omega, who barely came up to his chest.
Gabriel shut the door behind them quickly, peering through the key hole to ensure the Alpha that had chased him continued on, chuckling to himself. It wasnt until Dean spoke that Gabriel's attention shifted, eyeing both him and Cas. "Honestly I rather do Cassie, here the solid and avoid you going anywhere near his rooms." The Omega replied, no hint of the usual groveling respect that commoners showed the King. "He told me all about you, ya know. Really screwed the pooch on that one, didnt ya Deano." Gabriel commented moving forward to obviously check that his friend was alright.
“Frankly, I don’t care about want you would rather do.” Dean stated. “What I do care about is how a common Omega managed to get into the private area, reserved for soldiers. You aren’t you, clearly. And even if you had managed to slip past all other officials, you contract is terminated immediately. So, take me to the Knight Commander’s room, or I will ensure you live to regret it.” Dean stated, keeping the sleeping Omega in his arms.
Gabriel's brow arched at that though he didnt seem angry or annoyed. "What, like throwing me in prison? From what Cassie told me you've already threatened that once. Besides I dont have a contract to terminate. I'm an Omega the only thing I'm allowed to do in this boring place is laundry and cooking. I'll pass thanks." He pointed out before giving a scoff. "Typical Alpha," He grumbled under his breath as he moved to poke his head out the door and glanced down the hall to make sure no one would see them. "Always throwing weight around... making threats." He huffed to himself before pushing open the door. "Well, come on then." He instructed the King. "I may not be afraid of you but if Cas finds out I did help I'll never hear the end of it."
“First you did break the law. You /should/ be in jail. And it’s not like I don’t have much weight to throw around. I am King. And you have no idea what we’re discussed or planning on doing today, Omega, so if I were you I would keep your trap shut on issues you don’t fully understand.” Dean stated. He walked past Gabriel and through the door, without looking at him.
Gabriel followed after without a moment's hesitation. "First off, I have a name and it's not Omega!" He snapped. "Secondly I havent broken any law that you can prove besides not groveling at you! I live here with Cas." He countered as they entered the small office before hurrying over to produce a key and unlocking the Knight Commander's quarters. The man in question, shifted as Gabriel's voice rose, curling into Dean a bit more allowing a small grumble to escape him.
“If you live with Castiel then there is proof you know his secret. You even admitted to talking about the consequences, /Omega/.” Dean said calmly. He looked down at Castiel in his arms As he moved and raised and eyebrow at the Omega. “I don’t he’s liking your tone of voice.” He stated simply.
Gabriel considered that a moment as pushed open the door, Castiel's heavy scent engulfing them as they entered. "You got me there Deano." He shrugged. "But how do you know Cassie just doesnt like /your/ tone?" He argued childishly moving to pull back the covers on the bed. "Let's just make one thing clear... King or not... you hurt my brother and I'll make you wish you were dead." He warned giving a feral warning growl which was a bit strange coming from such a small omega.
“I know it’s you, Omega, but you were talking when he flinched, you are the one arguing, whilst I am remaining calm, and he flinched towards me and away from you, not the other way around.” Dean explained calmly and softly. He laid the Commander down in his bed, both his and Castiel’s cloaks wrapped around him. “You can tell him whatever you wish, but I will have the guards sign that they didn’t see or hear me be malicious to either of you. The guards under his control.” Dean smiled.
Gabriel’s glare darkened. “I didn’t plan on claiming otherwise but I wasn’t talking about today.” Gabriel pointed out. “Sounds like you have a guilty conscious there Dean-o. Maybe you should get it in check.” The small man growled before kicking off his boots and making a show of him crawling into bed with the Omega. It was obvious he was trying to piss Dean off. A ‘Haha I can be in his bed but you can’t’ grin plastered on his face as he wrapped his arms around the larger Omega.
“I don’t have a guilty conscious, I just don’t trust you.” Dean stated softly. He left the room without another word and headed back to his office. To continue on with his workload.
“The feeling is mutual Asshole!” Gabriel called after him in a harsh whisper before getting a bit more comfortable in case the Alpha decided to come back. He really didn’t see why Cas was taken with the guy though it was obvious every time he spoke of him.
The next day, after not a lot of sleep, Dean sent a letter out to Castiel, asking for him to meet with him at the soonest available opportunity. He continued to work in his office, with a considerable less about of paperwork to get through than the day before. His mind kept reliving the past conversation with Gabriel, surely that hate and disrespect didn’t come from one night’s conversation with Castiel. Was it because he was an Alpha and Gabriel was an Omega, would that hate lessen, if he understood what legislation and laws he is wanting to put in place? Or was it another reason why Gabriel hated Dean.
Castiel slept late into the night, only waking when Gabriel brought in the usual over sized breakfast that Cas only picked at while the smaller Omega devoured the rest. A realization of what had transpired had the Knight Commander flushing with embarrassment, but he didn’t mention it to his brother or anyone else for that matter and as for Gabriel… He didn’t speak a word about the King, too curious to see how it would all pan out. So, Cas ate, washed and changed, still not donning the armor of the Knight Commander which would probably make the men worry but he supposed it was for the best. By the time the letter reached him, the Knight Commander was almost through his rounds. He dismissed his men and made a B line for the King’s office; this time, the Man in Waiting didn’t hesitate to push open the doors and announce his arrival.
“You wished to see me Sire?” Cas asked as he moved around the other man and into the room.
Dean nodded and looked up from the paperwork he was reading. “I thought we could find off that discussion we didn’t have yesterday.” He suggested, offering Castiel the seat he occupied yesterday. “I do hope your brother didn’t make up too many wildly incorrect stories about what happened whilst you slept.” Dean said softly as he dismissed the guard.
Castiel moved to the chair before pausing at the words, brows furrowing. “My brother?” He mumbled before realization his him and he tensed. “Gabriel…” He sighed. “I hadn’t realized the two of you met. However he acted… Whatever he said Sire… I assure you I will have a discussion with him. There is no need for any further worry. I will handle his punishment myself, I give you my word.” He rushed obviously worried that whatever the King planned was very severe and far too harsh.
“Oh no no. I believe that stopping him from annoying the other Alphas should do right.” Dean explained. “But I do have a question about him, if you’ll indulge me?” He asked, “his general... annoyance at me surely doesn’t just stem from your discussion the previous night, so I was curious as to why he acts like that.”
Cas seemed to relax a bit at that, though his brows furrowed as he considered the question. “I couldn’t say, Sire… Gabriel has always been a bit… brash towards Alphas… Unless he was sleeping with them.” He shrugged. “But he’s never been as hostile as if your words imply. Perhaps he is simply being over protective. He /has/ played the role as my Omega for quite some time now.” He shrugged, obviously at a loss for any real answer.
Dean nodded, believing Castiel. “That’s fine. I understand.” He said softly. “I hope you did sleep well last night though, you did seem very... almost delirious before you fell asleep. Can you remember any of it?” He asked.
Castiel’s flush deepened In his embarrassment. “Some.” He acknowledged. “I apologize immensely for bring so improper, Your Majesty.” He rushed. “I can not believe I feel asleep in the middle of our discussion. It will not happen again I assure you.”
“Oh do not worry, Castiel, I have been tempted to do it before now, myself.” Dean smiled. “Do you remember what we were discussing, or will I need to go over it with you? I just do not wish to have your... knowledge lacking in any areas.” Dean explained softly. His hands resting on the table, where Castiel could see them as he leaned back in his chair.
"Yes of course, Sire." He nodded as he considered it a moment. "We were discussing proper attire and terms used during events and in private when becoming your Royal Aide." He offered simply.
Dean nodded and smiled. “You were so delirious I wondered if you had remembered.” Dean tapped his finger on his desk before laying out the files on the potential new Commanders. “Which ones would you say are the best for the role? I know I have ones that I would say are the best, but I wish for your opinions first.” Dean explained.
Cas gave another nod before stepping forward to glance down at the papers. “I would say that there are really only three that stand out more than the others. “Raphael is a strong soldier, he does very well when it comes to fortification and defensive tactics though his offensive strategies are above average, they still need improvements. I have been tutoring him for some time now and there are some improvements though he has a difficult time making sacrifices for tactical advantage. Then there is Azra’il whose battle tactics are a bit… aggressive but effective. The men respect him and he is loyal. He prefers to fight among his men rather than oversee them. It is not a traditional leadership but it strengths the bond between them and causes him to become more reserved when there is a potential of losing men. His tactics are sound and he is a hard worker. Finally, Zerachiel, my second in command he knows the men and the city backwards and forwards. In a simulated environment his tactics are flawless, he’s quick to come to decisions and is ruthless when solving a problem. It is possible he could make a fine Knight Commander he is young though and has never seen a real battle. I am unsure the seasoned soldiers would follow someone such as that… Not until they see how he faces bloodshed.” Cas explained. “That being said, any man on this list would make a fine replacement, Sire.”
“I was leaning to Zerachiel, but as you said, he’s never seen bloodshed. But I do like Azra’s leading style. It could improve the moral of the men, through the difficult adjustment period.” Dean added. “Though, as you know them to best, I will follow your better judgement between Zerachiel and Azra.”
“If I may, Sire…” Cas offered. “I would suggest promoting them both. Azra’il taking the title of Knight Commander whith Zerachiel as his advisor and second. Zerachiel may not be fond of the idea of remaining second but he would be satisfied with the notion that he still has power over the pieces on the board and can prove to be a heavy counterweight to Azra’il eagerness.” He explained. “It also allows Azra’il to free more time for training with the troops while Zerachiel focuses on the more scholarly aspects of the position; and gives Zerachiel a more aggressive counterpart to push him to earn the respect of his soldiers.” Cas explained.
Dean nodded and smiled. “I’ll have my brother draw up the contract for both men. I knew you would be wise enough to become my Aide. And the Aide you are replacing will be honoured to have such a wise man take up his mantle.” Dean smiled. “I will also have my brother draft up a contract for yourself first, to read and change as you see hit. I don’t believe there’s ever been an Omega Aide before, so some of it may be... uncomfortable or inapplicable to you.” Dean explained.
“I have been viewed as an Alpha for a long time, Sire; there is not much in the way of an Alpha’s role that is ‘uncomfortable’ to me any longer.” He replied before hesitating. “Though… I would like to address my men as soon as possible. Since I am no longer allowed the herbs I’ve been using to suppress my nature I fear that if we wait much longer there could be a few… unsavory issues. I know you are busy, Your Grace, but perhaps you could spare a bit of time this evening?”
“Of course I can.” Dean nodded. “Come by here when you are ready and I shall be waiting to go down with you. I know you feel like you don’t need a chaperone, but I know how Alphas will feel if they find out an Omega has been lying to them. That an Omega was in charge. The situation may become hostile... so I’ll use my presence to keep them from doing anything reckless.” Dean explained.
Cas pursed his lips obviously still not liking the idea, though for a different reason than before. It was his duty to protect the King and now he was the reason the man would be put in a potentially unfavorable situation. He supposed he would just have to station more guards in the King’s entourage. “Of course, Your Majesty.” He acknowledged with a small bow. “Do I have your permission to discuss the promotion with the two men in question? With the confusion that will no doubt be imminent I feel it may be necessary to warn them both of their new responsibilities. I, of course, will not provide any unnecessary information until after the address.” He offered, meaning there was no need for them to know of his status before the others, just that he was stepping down.
“Of course you may, Castiel. At your addressing this evening, would you like to explain your replacements then or at a later date?” Dean asked, wanting to know the Omega’s thought process of the situations. It may make some angrier, but it’s also better to do it all in one go that twice.” Dean suggested.
“I would agree, Sire. Announcing the promotions would be wise.” He acknowledged. “At the very least it would give the two the authority needed to minimize the chaos.” He offered.
“Yes.” Dean agreed. “That settles it.” He puts the documents neatly away in a cabinet and turns back to Castiel, “is there anything else you would like to ask me? Maybe not as a friend, maybe not as your King, but as an acquaintance. Anything at all?” Dean asked
Castiel hesitated, obviously having something on his mind but not quite knowing how the King would respond. "Yes, Si-" He began before realizing he was using the man's title and stopping himself. "Dean." He corrected averting his gaze and flushing slightly. "A favor... About Gabriel... Please dont hold his behavior against him. It is my fault really for protecting him so thoroughly. He is a good man... who has been through a lot. I'm afraid he simply doesnt know better. I assure that I will ensure this is rectified before my transition to Royal Aide... I would like him to remain by my side if you would allow... As an aid of sorts."
“Castiel, He... threatened me. As the person I am, I didn’t take it seriously, but to him it was serious. I cannot trust him, with... the way he speaks, and behaves. He stole another Alpha’s clothes.” Dean explained. “I-” he shook his head as he thought. “He can still live with you, but he cannot know about the work you are doing. I am sorry, Castiel, but I have to think about the sensitive data you will be handling, I just can’t trust him with it.” He explained softly
Cas straightened looking shocked. "He threatened you?" He growled for once looking the part of an Alpha only briefly before he managed to reign himself in. Gabriel was lucky be was still alive after such treason. "O-of course, Sire. A wise decision in light of your interactions. Perhaps a simple role as a palace servant would be more appropriate? Maybe in the kitchens where he cant cause much trouble. He is quite a skilled Baker. As for the clothes... well there are a few Alphas in the barracks that are in a bit of a prank war with my brother... I assure you it's nothing to worry about. But if you would prefer I can put an end to it."
“That is a wise choice, Castiel. But no, if the pranking is consensual, then I see no reason to halt it.” Dean explained. “Plus if we put him to work in the kitchens, he may slow down on the pranking.” Dean hummed, and tapped his desk, in thought. “May I ask you a question?”
Cas blinked in surprise that the man would even bother with the request. "Of course, your majesty." He shrugged.
“I keep calling you, Castiel, but is there a name you prefer, I noticed your brother called you Cassie a lot. But then he was calling me Deano.” Dean asked. Trying not to let his annoyance creep into his voice. “Is there a name you prefer to be called?” Dean asked softly.
That was an… unusual question. No one had ever really bothered to ask him that question before. “No, Sire.” He admitted honestly. “You may call me whatever you wish. Though… I would prefer it isn’t ‘Cassie’.” He added, nose wrinkling in disgust.
Dean chuckles. “How about I call you Cas?” He asks. “I’ve always had an aversion to long names, unless it’s my brother Sammy.” He smiles. “Just one last question and then you can ask me anything you’d like. Have you given our arrangement for a date any more consideration?”
“That is acceptable, Your Majesty.” Cas offered with a small bow. With the second question however he seemed to pause in consideration. “I have… thought about it… However, to be honest I have been quite busy with the change of command. After the address this evening, however, I suppose I will have plenty of free time.” He offered.
“I understand, Cas. Tonight think about it and get some rest. I’ve asked for the rest of the week off so I won’t get any more paperwork, so until Sunday, I will be teaching you the role of the Royal Aide of the Cavalry, if that is suitable for you.” Dean explained. “And then on Sunday, I shall teach you... the rules of... eloquence, for the meal that evening where I shall introduce you as our newest Aide and the old one will officially step down.” Dean explained. “Is that suitable for you?”
“That is most gracious of you, Sire.” Cas acknowledged. “That is more than adequate time for the transition. I look forward to meeting everyone and learning of my duties. I hope to be as much of service as I have in the past.” He nodded before hesitating. “As well as spending more time with His Majesty.” He added, flushing slightly but managing to keep his expression even.
Dean raised an eyebrow at the Omega, but didn’t press. “Would you like to ask me anything else?” He asked. “About my policies I’m wishing to implement, or about my personal life. Anything at all.” He offered. “And remember not every Aide or Commander will get the opportunity to ask me anything so openly.”
“No, Sire; though I do appreciate the opportunity.” He acknowledged. “I’m sure there will be plenty of time to learn everything I’d need in the coming weeks.” He offered. “I fear that if we are to prepare for the address in time that I must being going shortly however.”
“Of course,” Dean nodded. “And if you wish to speak to another Omega about anything... Royal, then Sammy’s wife, Meg, is happy to discuss and help you.” He offered. “I know sometimes it’s just easier for an Omega to speak with another Omega.”
That had Cas hesitating once more. “Of course, Sire. Thank you.” He acknowledged with a bow. “If you’ll excuse me there is much to be done.” He mumbled before turning to go.
Dean nodded and watched the Omega go before preparing some material to help Cas transition into his new role. He thought about how much more calmer Cas was when around him today compared to yesterday. He tried to work out what he had done differently, but apart from being calmer and less forthright, he wasn’t sure.
Cas spent the rest of the day in meetings and managing paperwork to prepare for the transition; sending messengers out with orders and information about the address later in the evening. Everything seemed to be going well enough aside from the meeting with the two that were to be his successors. Naturally, they were upset with the news that Castiel would be stepping down from Command and had many questions but the Omega had some how managed to avoid answering them, ensuring them they would have their answers during the address. Soon enough, Cas stood in front of the King’s Office, dressed in his regal armor for the last time, helmet tucked under his arm as he waited for the Alpha.

Session 3: The Cutlass
I wrote a write up for the last D&D game I was a player for, we’re attempting a duet campaign, so I finally got to play my Evil Aligned Gunslinger Drow character Carric Do’Rae! (Level 4 Rogue with 2 Revolvers found from the Dungeon Masters Guide)
I wanted to post one of the write ups here, i’d keep it under a readmore, but yeah! I added Heroforge figurines to help visualise people and scenes. Carric is a bit edgy and definitely isnt the type of character I go for, I just realised a Chaotic Evil character isnt... fit for most party scenarios. Its got a killer end to the session so if you do feel like reading a session recap written in first person - be sure to read to the end! :D
Session 3: The Cutlass
I surfaced in Southern Luskan, amidst the graves of the dead I rose as the zombies would. I knew The Cutlass was in the south side of town, and under the cover of the midnight moon I stepped out to the streets and hugged the darkness like a shield. I didn't get far before I felt like I was being followed, that hobgoblin from earlier was wreathed in an ominous shadowy cloak, I nodded to him but he seemed intent on getting me back on my mission. Fair enough.
Tumblr media
Heading towards the wall I figured I must have been close to the docks, the stench of the muck I was in earlier has washed into the very cobbles that dot the ground in this city. Their stench brought in from seagoers and tradesmen alike, and speaking of them, a sextuplet of ne'er-do-wells approached me reeking of alcohol and rage. I kept to myself but I was more than ready to hit them up the moment they took a step in the wrong direction. They opted to call me out. "Oy! What do you think youre doing walking the streets at this hour?" they queried, slurring their words as they spoke. "I could ask you the same question, do you really want to do this? Incur the wrath of the mighty Spirton Baensek?" I bluffed. They seemed bewildered, the name was shared by someone I would care to forget from my past, but their name became a bit of a personal joke, so i used it. They seemed to ignore the name, and replied in turn with their own - I admit, I wasn't impressed with them in the slightest. At first I took them for a shift of Luskan Guards coming off work, I hadn't seen what they perhaps wore for a uniform so this was the best they had, I mean they appeared to be a Navy division perhaps. But it was evident from their demeanour and their willingness to slash me to death with their cutlasses implied they were Pirates to some degree, once they said they were the So-and-So Pirates, I knew they were little to no threat to me. “Oh! So youre not Luskan Guards? Well that makes this easy!” and With a quick flourish I doffed my cloak and drew my revolvers, I aimed them at the gang.
Tumblr media
"Uh oh lads, he's a Wizard," they whispered among themselves "We'd better scram." They began to cower. "Uh - Sorry! Sorry Mr Baensek - we'll be on our way! Don't turn us inside out!". I put my cloak on once more, and motioned for them to clear off, and out of my way. I turned to watch them leave, and out of the corner of my eye I see the Hobgoblin was inches away from sending a deadly arrow into the eyes of their charismatic leader. At least I had a watching angel in case things go sideways. I reached the Inn, a brothel it seemed, brazzieres and bodies were being thrown everywhere upstairs, and stabbings were going on in the lower floor that contained the bar. Quaint. I didnt plan on staying long. There were two tough looking Grunts outside standing guard, I take it they wouldnt like drow - but I wonder about Elves in general. I posed as my Wizard persona Mr Baensek once more and held my tinderbox like a book. Without so much more than a "Get out of here you rapscallion - filthy - no good - snake in the grass - back biting - arrow slingin - stinking ELF" I was sent away like a street rat. Welcoming. Well, I needed to get in, and I didn't feel like waiting outside this location for the next 5 days on the hopes my man Morick wants to pay them a visit, even if I knew what he looked like I'd be up the River Rauvin without a paddle. So I needed a better plan. I took to the thieves highway up on the rooves, hoping to land a shot on one of the bouncers.
Tumblr media
Hiding atop a roof, I aimed my Shortbow and took a shot.
Tumblr media
His large frame was such a large and easy target.
Tumblr media
He dropped like a feather brushed by the wind. Screaming in pain.
Noticing the noise I hightailed it out of there, I had a plan to circle the block and take a similar shot on the other bouncer, who hadn't moved from his post. Dedicated I guess. No one suspected a thing, noone was helping the sod on the floor - this town has been the first I can agree with in a long time. I couldnt quite find my mark on the second bloke, this angle was weird, but I wasnt going to risk being spotted here. I wedged my feet into the beams supporting a drainage pipe and attempted to fire a shot hanging off the side of the building, it was the closest to a sure thing that I had. Something shifted in my weight, and suddenly I realised I was too heavy - but it was too late. I began to fall towards the floor, I didnt want to miss this opportunity, so I aimed my bow while falling, and pincushioned the second bouncer. He dropped like a stone much like the first. But I was falling now, and I was falling fast. Reaching out I managed to grab onto a ledge, and met my falling speed perfectly. In fact It was so perfect that my momentum was held and sent me through the nearest window - waking up the resident of the house, an old man. In bed, barely awake, he begins fumbling for a broadsword under his bed, I was swift in taking his life. I drove my shortsword through his gullet, and he coughed blood everywhere, but it seemed he was not done dying - so to be sure I pulled his covers over him and made sure to stuff his mouth with his sleeping cloth. Meanwhile I could hear outside - the boucners were screaming about "Finding that damned Elf". Looking to the old man's meager table, there was some charcoal and writing paper with scribblings of death threats and extortion papers. I scribbled a note quickly: "Shut up about Elves" - a simple effective note. I tied it to another one of my arrows, and sent it into one of the bouncers who had began to stand. After reading the note he walked over to where I was, calling out to the old man - telling him to knock it off with his notes. This moron was creating such a ruckus, why didn't I just kill them and call it a day? Ugh. Searching around the Old Man's apartment I located the sword he was reaching for, I've never quite held something so hefty - let alone knew how to use it, I threw the sword out over my shoulder, not quite looking at where it would land. As luck would have it, the sword met the mouth of the bouncer quite well. In fact it slid down his gullet like a wet fish, killing him instantly. Bizarre  These encounters took me all the way to morning, as I approached the bar it was coming to first light, parting the nightly fog. Stepping over the bodies of the bouncers, I made my way inside The Cutlass. A crew were cleaning up the exploits of last night, a small crew of women in bodices and corsets were on cleanup duty - they quickly tried to shoo me out, telling me to come back at midday when they open again. I had to insist, I was in a hurry to find Morick. I announced my business, that I was after Morick, I had heard he frequented this bar, and that I could find him here. I would be willing to pay for the information, and flicked the Hostess of this Inn a lantanese golden coin. A hush fell upon the room, "oh no, theyre that poor" I think to myself. I reach for my gold bag, and can you believe it, one of the maids were already reaching to grab it! The nerve! I kick the swine in the stomach, and with her out of grabbing distance I draw my Revolver and point it at her head. "You don't want to see what this does" I warn.
With eyes crossed, looking at the barrel, she stands up and begins to shuffle away. The Hostess suddenly straightens herself up, asks her workers to leave us alone - and takes me a little more seriously. I mean, I've come in with some serious money by the sounds - and I am willing to kill on a single attempt at thievery in a town famous for it’s thieves? I'm glad I made that impression, because it was dead on.
Tumblr media
I sit at the bar with one hand on my purse, and the other hand on my gun, I couldn’t trust anyone except except my guns - that much I knew. The Hostess takes my measure and inquires what I'm looking for, I repeated that I need to locate Morick and that I was lead here, the rest was a mystery to me. I knew that money talked, so before she could land a deal I placed my price on the table. 5 Lantanese Gold Coins. The gold alone would likely have been enough but that crystal in the Lantanese made them a near collectors item this far from Lantan. I lay them on the bar and pushed them to her, I then made a case for her. "You don't really like this backwash town do you? With this sort of money you could sell this place and head as far as Baldur's Gate, if you fancy. Start up somewhere new, somewhere fresh, away from the grime of this city. I know I won't want to stay long, why should you?" She considered this for a moment, and the reserved look on her face knew it was enough for her, but for good measure to secure accurate information I threw in an extra coin anyway - she could have made an attempt on my life if she wanted, and then I'd have to kill her, so I'm working good faith into her now. In the true illuskan way, she sells her information of Morick as soon as she sees that 6th coin hit the bar.
She told me that he doesnt really come to this bar, but it was a bit of a trap to catch out those who wouldnt know any better, or learn how to be worth his time. Turns out Morick is a big time thief, assassin, and general ruckus-maker. His real haunt was a second location, across from the Winter Palace on the second floor. She warned he was known for his traps, so I should be prepared to dodge or disarm a bunch if I plan to break in uninvited. She then explained that If I were to flash a light at the 2nd story window facing the street, I may be granted entry but I'll need to learn the pattern as it changes every week.
Rats
She then explained that it'll take her a day and a half to skip town, so I'm not to make my move until she's ready. We'll see if I honour that with time. We’ll see if I honour that in time. This whole conversation was observed by the Bard who was sitting on the other side of the bar. I wasnt threatened by his stance, he was idly tuning a fiddle hoping I wouldnt notice him, I wager. He has been checking out the bag of Gold I have swaddled to my person. I turn to him, and address him directly. "Bard, I'll give you some of this money if you write a song about me - detail the fearsome might of the dreaded Gunslinger, Carric Do'Rae".
"... Sir... pardon... but what is a Gunslinger?" he said, quivering almost. At this point, one of the bouncers who were bleeding out just an hour earlier came to, and woke up. " YOU! " he screamed, pointing at me.  He began to charge across the room at a breakneck pace.
While not breaking eye contact with the bard, I raise my right Revolver over my shoulder, and with a BANG I plant a bullet between the eyes of the brute, killing him instantly.

Describe Your OC
Warning! Very long post! so under read more to avoid filling up the majority of your dashboards xD. This took so long to do but I’m pretty happy with all of this, so I welcome all to read it.
1: their voice
My current voice claim to Dan’s voice - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t0OKZS5cBMU (Talion from ME: Shadow of ‘Series’ voiced by Troy Baker)
Despite being of demon origin, his more humane side must be evident at all times, an oddly somewhat gruff but gentle shade evident that can turn cold and serious within an instant. Its not much of a singing voice.
But while his voice is rather firm, it holds a clear vulnerability that displays when he is clueless or is filled with sorrow/concern.
I believe Talion’s voice/mannerisms are a good representative of how Dan speaks, minus the Middle Earth terms.
4: their insecurities
In general Dan is an insecure wreck, he’s just a decent act at covering his true thoughts up for the most part, though even they can be seen with minor mannerisms that will be displayed,
With people, he always feels like everyone is judging him for better or worse, even the strangers he passes by in the street with no interaction given in the slightest, this is in fact why crowds make him quite paranoid over extended time amongst them. It makes Dan feel worse that due to his specific lack of interaction during his younger years it makes him crave it yet wish to avoid people and lessen the risks of doing something to upset them, by completely minimizing the chance to 0 by no interactions at all.
In other respects, Dan’s inward confidence is quite lacking, always doubting himself, why he even exists and is there any true point to his resistance? to any whom asked or saw him in action, most may think he’s a cocky shit, but to Dan, the few victories he gains is nothing when a war against countless odds is always his opposition…..why bother fighting when he has nothing else? Dan would say its his will or his strength that keeps him going, but the truth is he’s scared, relying solely on his survival instincts.
These worries and insecurities ease up greatly when he’s with a friend or someone he trusts, but this in turn leads to a brand new one surfacing in the back of his mind. Dan doesnt wish to be an annoyance to his new found friend and risk ruining it, enjoying the experience and wishing to stick with them for as long as possible, If given the chance Dan may never actually leave someone’s side, but both wishing to respect their space and his own paranoia, Dan deliberately feels its best to avoid his friends until its a given they want to see him. his heart says stay but his mind says go due to the risks he may bring upon them should he stay with one for too long.
5: their shortcomings
An obvious one though is improving with time is his mindset, or in more general terms. ‘Common Sense’. Dan usually goes by simply what he deems right or what is needed, it doesnt matter what others think or if there is a rule/law against it, if he thinks it, that’s what is happening. This can lead to a variety of outcomes be they either hilarious or dangerous.
On a similar note is his general awareness, this can be related to the likes of the immediate area around him, a world’s history, people’s names or actions, even basic tasks. Unless he’s had experience in a regard before. Dan’s most likely going to be terrible or clueless on the subject at hand. Due to the majority of his life being only revolving around fighting and on the run…it can count towards a vast majority of topics.
These things are also what causes his great deal of passive actions when accompanying others, normally doing nothing of his own accord unless instructed or advised unless its a dangerous situation, preferring otherwise to stay back and wait to see what others want him to do to avoid risks to their more likely ‘logical’ plans.
6: how they deal with grief
Initially, he does nothing, letting it build up in his mental psyche more and more.
As time passes he’ll come back to it when doing nothing and brood over all the negative thoughts, usually getting himself in a rotten mood or even more paranoid about something.
But depending on the degree of the problems, Dan’s method to dealing with grief or any sort of mental downfall is to let it out via his aggression, he’ll find something to let out all his rage and sorrow, destroying an object or objects utterly in the process on most occasions.
This stands too for someone who may try to fight him in this state, he’d likely spend hours beating them senseless to the extent they’d need to be hospitalized…..or worse.
Luckily, He’ll do this in his free time and far away from population heavy areas.
7: how they like to dress
While having no true fashion sense due to lack of any kind of ‘clothing’ back in the demon realm. Dan is pretty open towards all clothing designs and shapes.
If Dan had a variety of clothes at his disposal he’d be the sort to wear the first thing he saw in his wardrobe, regardless if the colors matched or not with the rest of what he had on.
However as some may have noticed he has particular love towards his black overcoat and has adopted a ‘gothic’ mindset towards clothes, usually featuring all black as he feels its just cool and goes well with his need to stay out of sight, though this only really plays a good part at night, in day he’ll stand out pretty openly unless hidden somewhere.
In terms of styles, Dan also has an appreciation towards fancier/refined outfits, such as tuxedos or an officer’s uniform. most likely because its the complete opposite as to what he is in Dan’s eyes, a nobody. That and they look ‘Cool’
8: what they like to eat
There is no true answer to this question as Dan will and has eaten just about anything put in front of him and found it edible in comparison to the filth he had in the demon realm.
But in his time visiting and exploring other realms, Dan has been proven to have a sweet tooth, loving almost any kind of assortment and sweets. if it has sugar, he’ll love it. He’s also big on meat, having a clear favoritism towards Beef, Chicken, Lamb.
He’s not overly picky though so he’ll eat practically everything and anything put in front of him.
13: their embarrassing memory from years ago
During his younger years he doesn’t really have an ‘embarrassing’ memory per se, since most of his life back then wasnt even ‘his’ life, being strictly made to follow training and survival as if he were possessed. He saw and remembers it all but it wasnt his own control until he was a teen, by then he knew nothing but the dark life in front of him.
18: how they sleep
Regardless of his form he always sleeps in the same respect.
He’ll curl up to himself as close as he can, usually his hands and knees tightly closed together, wrap whatever he has available around himself, be it a cover, his coat and etc, only his head will be sticking out of it in which he’ll eventually fall asleep.
During his sleep his position changes depending on how well or badly his dreams/nightmares go. If he’s getting a good rest his body will slowly loosen up and resemble to him laying on his back with his arms and legs outstretched, usually his feet sticking out from the covers since they’ll still be pulled so close.
But if its bad, he’ll toss and turn, constantly mumble to himself and tighten himself up further, usually resulting in him getting sore joints and muscles. The worse case scenario is he’ll wake up screaming or gasping for air, from there he wont bother sleeping anymore and will stay awake until his body practically forces him to sleep.
19: their reaction to betrayal
This depends on the level of betrayal and the reasoning, there is no clear cut answer so here is the best and worst case scenarios.
Best? He’ll remember it, while he will forgive, he’ll never quite trust again and will openly curse the betrayer’s name both to them and to others, it would take a long time to repair the damage.
Worst? He’ll label them as nothing more than a future target, spending his free time trying to hunt the betrayer down and chase them via whatever means possible, potentially with those whom also share a hatred or have reasons to be rid of that person. Should he catch them….they’ll be beaten to a bloody pulp, he wouldn’t kill them, but he’d openly state that once they recovered, he’d do it again so they suffered more.
21: how they react to pain
One of two ways, usually depending on the level and cause of it.
One, he’ll gasp in shock from the pain, try to do something to deal with it, fail, ignore or shrug it off and then continue with what he was doing.
Two, Immediately give into anger and start lashing out at whatever he can find that he could use to relieve himself, he’d never target a person unless they were generally bad or the person that caused the pain in the first place.
22: what they’re like on two hours of sleep
Dan would still be very alert and active with such a small amount of sleep, his time of being paranoid and keeping watch from potential dangers around him back in the demon realm made him adopt this natural trait of being resistant to lack of sleep and make the most of minimal amounts of it.
The main difference would come when he eventually did fall asleep again, most likely no one would be able to wake him up regardless of methods if he was truly exhausted. A truly deep sleep.
23: how they act when they’re sick
Very moody and irritable, he’ll frequently shoo away everyone that approaches him, even those he knows well, occasionally even brief temperament problems as he’ll suddenly hit something near him as if to try and relieve his stress.
However his own arrogance would make him believe he could deal with whatever sickness he had and go about his business as usual, so even if he had a serious illness, you’d need to literally lock him up somewhere, otherwise he’d just keep wandering out.
Dan recovers from sickness quickly, but not because he’s resistant to it, his body accelerates the ‘cleansing/healing’ process. This usually means that even the common cold will feel 10x worse to Dan than to someone else as he goes through all the worst symptoms and effects all at once. Imagine the more severe or even dangerous illnesses, Dan would pass through their effects within hours.
He has a reason for being very moody while sick, now you know.
25: why you enjoy them
This is actually very hard for me to answer, i have a few reasons while also trying to avoid the generic ‘well he’s my OC’ answer.
I truly enjoy a simple concept, the main concept of what Dan is, a concept that I’m is done better with many other characters and OCs, be it by their depths, the values/descriptions held by their muns.
Dan is a stranger, a stranger in another world, another plain of thought and understanding. logic, morals, everything you can possibly conceive…Dan’s a foreigner to it. Its like how we look at cultures and mindsets in the world today, Dan to me is kinda a representative to the idea of it happening in other settings.
At first you think, oh, so its just about seeing perspectives? or what if scenarios? kinda yes and no at the same time, because there’s one final thing to note I love about Dan.
He’s utterly stupid!
I like to imagine Dan is a child in an adult’s body. he’s trying to look strong, he’s trying to look like he knows what he’s doing, to others that see him, they may look at him as someone not to mess with, or someone that knows his goal. But the truth of it is they couldn’t be more wrong!
Dan doesnt know what he wants, he thinks he does, but he doesnt! he doesnt understand the concepts of living! Again, he thinks he does, he looks at himself as some poor soul who needs to stop a terrible evil from happening and that is all that matters. The thought of other possibilities just don’t come across his limited concepts.
But as he interacts, as he meets people, he explores their worlds, sees what there is, understands their thoughts, their lives….he slowly gets closer to understanding, that life is ever changing and there is more to it than just what he thinks there is.
And when he has these little revolutions in his thoughts, no matter how slight, no matter how common they may actually be to everyone else. I cant help but smile that as he develops himself, I’m developing with him as a writer, allowing me to be even more free with what I do with him.
Throw in the whole ordeal of him being this supposedly really powerful being that has little understanding of his own capabilities, his limited mindset, it creates a fascinating dynamic or at least to me, that the world he’s in will form what he will become in the long run…..
Its why every interaction Dan has with someone else, feels all so important to me, I’m not the best with descriptions, I’m not the best at conveying things or even using much variety in my wordplay. But those he meets with are all critical pillar stones in his development, no matter how minor or major our interactions are. Dan will remember, he will adapt and when the time comes…..what your muse did with him or against him…it’ll effect what he does in the end of things.

17 Frightening Stories Of Abandoned Hospitals And Asylums As Told By Urban Explorers And Security Guards
1. Watchman at an abandoned mental hospital
I was the night watchman at an abandoned mental hospital turned state park for a summer in college. The only creepy thing that happened was one night I was with one of the state park police and we saw flashlights in one of the buildings. Kids constantly broke in and other people broke in to gut the old buildings of any copper they could find. So as I was saying one night we saw flashlights moving around so we went in. The officer pulled her gun and flashlight and in we went. We could her footsteps on the floor above us and we slowly and quietly went upstairs. We checked every room and found nothing. Then we heard footsteps above us again. This happened for a few floors until we were on the top floor below the roof. We heard footsteps up on the roof so we went up there. Still nothing. We never found anyone or any indication that anyone had been there. It was friggin creepy.
2. Exploring an insane asylum
When I was a teenager (20+ years ago) my friends and I trespassed on a condemned insane asylum called Eloise in Southeastern Michigan.
The worst thing wasn’t that it was at night with shitty flashlights, the dirty patient records scattered on the floor, the broken furniture, the torn up walls, the leaking water pipes, or the huge fungal bloom from the leaking water.
The worst part was finding a tunnel and following it to a place inside where power was still on. There was a light, an ominous looking double doors… and an active security camera.
It was like… why is this here? What’s going on?
Later on, I found out that the asylum and a nearby hospital were connected. However, the wikipedia page says it closed in 1984… but we were there several years after that.
I think I saved one of the patient records somewhere.

3. Exploring ruins
When I was in high school living in Seattle, ghost hunting (visiting abandoned places) was a frequent activity for us.
There is a place north of Seattle called 13 Steps to Hell. The story is that a satanic family once lived in a house where they had a cemetery deep in their backyard. These stones date back at least 100 years. The family built thirteen steps into the cemetery with two giant pointed pillars at the top. Supposedly – each step down would give you hallucinations, you would hear things, feel things, and on the final step you would see fire (hell).
The steps continue to be bulldozed because the current residents surrounding the area probably do not appreciate late night visitors. But the steps always seem to reappear – I’ve seen them.
Our first journey – it took us nearly four hours of driving and walking to find it. There are no clear directions anywhere online (at least at that time). We accidentally stumbled upon a path just as we were about to give up. It is about a mile hike deep into the woods. Along the overgrown trail you have a lot of barriers to duck under and over and there are random things everywhere; such as crashed cars in the middle of the woods, abandoned items as well.
After 30 minutes of hiking in the creepy darkness of this overgrown forest, we were going to head back when my friend pointed to me and said “SHIT, look where you are standing.” I looked down and I was unknowingly standing between the pillars and on the first step down to the cemetery.
At that point I was not going to walk down the steps – but I did explore the cemetery. My friends explored further down and started yelling and screaming – they told us stop scaring them – even though we were at least 200 feet away from them. We left promptly after they ran up and insisted we leave. Never talked about it again.
I went back 5 times after with friends who had heard and I was the only one who knew how to get there, so I gladly took them. Nothing creepy happened on those trips.
One year later, some friends asked me to take them. We went at midnight one evening and went there, looked around the cemetery – nothing out of the ordinary. I went down to the cemetery and rubbed one gravestone so I could read it. Some satanic symbol. We were standing in a circle debating how much longer we would stay when all of the sudden a 3 foot log comes flying at us and lands in the middle of the circle. We all look around and notice that no one from the group is missing – so it wasn’t any of our friends. Thirty seconds later all of this shit is flying at us. I look at them and just say “run!” We started running back through the overgrown trail with logs, branches, rocks, etc being thrown at us. I’ve never ran so fast in my life. At one point my friend looks back and sees two giant yellow eyes after us and all we heard were growling noises running after us. Ducking under fallen trees, running through sticker bushes and falling several times we run to the car get in and drive away as fast as possible.
None of us said a word to each other for at least an hour. And I have never been back since.

4. Schoolhouse-turned-residential housing
My mother in laws house is pretty creepy. Lived there for a little over a year when me and my wife were younger. Built in something like 1900, it was originally a schoolhouse, but turned residential sometime after WWII.
A few of my wife’s stories are pretty chilling. Standing in front of the house, to the left, there’s a shed/garage, and about 80-90 feet behind that a large barn. She claims every so often she would look to the top of the barn and notice a bright light, even though that area of the barn was cut off due to the access door being nailed shut ( there was a fire up there at some point ). Her mother went to investigate, found no signs of squatters, only a load of spiders and a raccoons nest.
Once, the large stereo in the living room kept turning on. Thinking it was the remote malfunctioning, she took the batteries out, but it still kept turning on. She claims after she unplugged the stereo, the display was still flickering on and off for 4-5 minutes.
There was also the time her mother’s music box got inexplicably wound and started playing at 2:30 am. She unwound it, wrapped it in a towel and shoved it in her drawer. Two weeks later, it happened again.
I once heard a woman scream “Get Out!” while feeding my son. He was fresh out of the hospital, we were on the bed watching TV, I had him on my chest and my back to the wall, the bedroom door was shut. All of a sudden, I hear a woman scream, “GET OUT!” I placed my son in his crib and ran downstairs, thinking her aunt, whom we were living with at the time, was in some sort of trouble. I get downstairs to find all the lights off, her aunt asleep in her bed, and no-goddamn-body else there.
Also regularly heard children running, though my son at the time wasn’t old enough to walk. One time in particular, heard what sounded like a LARGE group of children coming up the stairs, laughing hysterically at something.
5. An old jail tour
My two friends and I visited an old jail (a local company did regular tours.) The jail used to regularly keep women and children there, and there were a lot of deaths, especially in the winter. During our tour, my friends and I went inside one of the cells just as the tour group moved along to the next section of the jail. We were making stupid jokes, but the vibe was super creepy. We finally decided to catch up… except we were locked in. Nobody was there to do it (the group had moved on before we all entered completely) and the doors were NOT self-locking. Someone would have had to push the bolt across from the outside. We couldn’t get out. We ended up having to shout for help to have someone come and set us free.
Almost ten years later, none of us have an idea what happened…
6. In a funeral home
I used to pick up dead bodies for a funeral home. One stormy night, I was in one of the coolers putting a guy on the shelf. In a matter of a couple seconds, the following happened:
– The guy on the next shelf up shifted and his hand fell down in my face.
– The doorstop slipped and the cooler door closed behind me.
– The power went out and the lights went off.
All purely coincidental, but I still puked in my pants.

7. Abandoned nun’s home
My dad worked at a mental hospital that used to be connected to an abandoned nun’s home by underground passage. He says that one night he was walking down there when he saw a praying nun. He walked by her and said hello. She did not acknowledge him.
My dad does not believe in ghosts, but he says there was a nun down there that night.

8. This is an incredible story
I wasn’t able to sleep, so I figured I’d try for a night time job at this sleep clinic as a security guard. They offered the job and I accepted straight away, filled in a couple of forms, and that was that. It seemed perfect: if I was going to be awake anyway, I might as well get paid for it.
I got into the swing of things right away. It wasnt difficult: my duties consisted mainly of walking through the softly carpeted halls every hour or so, checking that the security doors were locked, and helping myself to as many free cups of coffee as I could. There were always two nurses on call in case of a medical emergency, but they mostly slept through their shifts so I barely saw them.
My contact with the patients was limited. There seemed to be perhaps fifteen or twenty of them, with some there for extended periods and others coming and going on an almost daily basis. I only ever saw them when they were asleep. It was strange seeing them like that, robbed of all context. They could have been bankers or beggars for all I knew.
In the staff room, watching over the half-drunk remnants of other peoples coffee and dog-eared magazines was a bank of CCTV monitors wired up to the patients rooms, so that the staff could keep an eye on them whenever they needed to. I spent most of my time there when I wasnt patrolling the corridors. It was oddly relaxing to watch all these strangers sleeping peacefully in their beds throughout the night, stirring gently every so often as they dreamed their unknown dreams. It gave me great comfort to watch them all lying there, dead to the world with me as their silent custodian.
Then there were the sleepwalkers. The clinic had a policy of leaving them to their own devices as much as possible, provided they werent in any immediate danger (which they never were: the windows were bolted and made of toughened glass, and all external doors were kept securely locked). I used to come across them often in the halls and corridors, strange lost souls acting out their own private, intangible dream roles, murmuring to themselves while they performed odd and unintelligible actions.
One night I was walking down one of the usual corridors, the faint sounds of snoring echoing through the air like waves rising and falling on a beach, when I came across one of the usual sleepwalkers. A middle aged man, swollen and red-faced, wearing powder-blue pyjamas and and incongruous pink dressing gown that flapped open as he walked. He seemed utterly oblivious to the world around him.
As I approached, however, he stopped dead in his tracks and turned to face the wall, standing as motionless as a statue with his face only millimetres away from the pastel-shaded brickwork. A dry, papery voice emanated from him as I passed.
I stopped myself, and gazed bemused at the thinning hair on the back of his round head.
Im sorry?
, he repeated, in that same thousand-year-old voice.
Are you talking to me?
That was true. But usually the sleepwalkers are too wrapped up in their own nocturnal preoccupations to register other people, let alone speak directly to them. This was something of a novelty. My curiosity was piqued.

What do you mean?
Well thats cheery. You should probably go back to bed.
The man gave a little chuckle. It sounded phlegmy and unpleasant, like dark bubbles popping in tar.
It was my turn to laugh. I work here. Looking after you guys.
There was no way he could have known about that. The back of his head was as implacable as ever.
I just stood there staring, with the nameless muzak simpering on in the background. Perhaps I was hallucinating again.
I have to go, I mumbled, unsure of what else to do. My palms pricked with sweat. I walked on down the corridor, breathing an inward sigh of relief. Strange. The sleepwalkers were usually placid and uncommunicative, locked in their own private little worlds. This man had been downright confrontational.
I walked down to the staff room, my head a fog of speculation and confusion. I was surprised to see one of the nurses seated at the table, a fresh cup of mud-brown coffee steaming in front of her.
She had her back to me. The patients are lively tonight, I said.
It was that exact same voice echoing through the softly furnished room.
It felt as though an electric shock had jangled through my body. I ran round the table to face her, but when I did I found that her eyes were closed and she wore the sanguine expression of someone lost in a deep and dreamless sleep.
Just then the bank of TV screens on the wall behind me fizzed and crackled, lighting up the cramped little room with a brief flare like a flash of lightning from behind a dark cloud. I turned to face them, and found only static bleeding into the room from each and every screen.
But one by one a picture flicked into life on each of the monitors, each showing a different scene in grainy black and white. It took me a moment to resolve the overexposed images into recognizable shapes and figures. In each screen the camera gave a first-person perspective of someone moving jerkily through an unidentifiable scene, sometimes a hallway or corridor, sometimes a busy city street.
All at once every screen exploded into action, a flurry of manic movement lurching drunkenly this way and that. In this chaos of motion I could see people wide-eyed and panic-stricken, their mouths open in silent screams, staring into the camera with horror in their eyes and fleeing in abject terror. Here and there a hand could be seen on screen, the hand of the faceless protagonist, and on each screen the unmistakeable flash of a large knife cut through the hazy images.
My stomach lurched as my eyes flicked from screen to screen, finding one scene of random carnage after another. The blade swung and stabbed and slashed, biting into flesh with sickening regularity. Black gouts of blood welled from every wound as the unknown assailant ploughed his way through victim after victim. Somehow the grainy low-resolution images lent a further reality to these grim and brutal vignettes, and I felt each and every thrust of the knife with a visceral twist in my own guts.
CLICK BELOW TO NEXT PAGE…
My eyes settled for a second on one particular screen, a confusing tumult of greys and blacks that resolved into a stark scene of bloody violence in a dingy vestibule as I fixed my attention on it. As I watched, the camera lurched past a battered door with a grimy stained-glass window set into it. For an instant, a reflected blur of the protagonist was caught in that window, and the camera froze and then panned in on the image. It was a face. The reflection of a face.
I looked to another monitor: a street scene, streaked with blood in the gutters and bodies strewn about the sidewalk. The chrome of a parked car threw an image back the camera, which instantly halted and zoomed in on it. The same face, stark and washed-out by the low-quality film.
My eyes darted from one screen to another, and in each the same thing happened: the movement ceased, and the monitor filled with a single image taken from some small reflection in a puddle or a pane of glass. Soon every one of the bank of monitors was displaying the same thing from a multitude of different angles a single face, the features all but erased in a blurry white mass, but still recognizably and irrevocably mine.
As soon as I came to this realization the screens all instantly snapped to black. The nameless muzak tinkled on in the background as I struggled to take in what I had seen.
Nothing seemed to make sense anymore. The sleep clinic had been my own private cocoon, like a warm and comfortable womb which had taken me in and shielded me from the storms of insomnia, but now Even the walls around me and the soft carpet under my feet seemed as unreal and intangible as a dream. I had never felt more lost. Adrift in a sea of doubt, uncertainty and overwhelming confusion.
The sun was starting to rise. My shift would soon be over, and it would be time to leave. To venture out into the real world again. As if in a trance I moved over to the area of the staff room that served as a makeshift kitchen for preparing snacks and ready meals. I opened a drawer, and found what I was looking for: a long, sharp kitchen knife, shiny and barely used. It felt reassuringly cool in my hand solid and substantial, a silver slash of reality that could cut through the fog of insubstantiality that surrounded me. It fitted snugly into my pocket, and without another thought I slipped out into the dawn of a brand new day.
Now Im back in the sleep clinic again. Its hard to imagine ever leaving. I still dont sleep, but thats okay I get the feeling there are some terrible nightmares awaiting me on the other side of sleep, on the other side of these welcoming walls, so Im happy to stay here and just wait them out. I pad silently down the softly-furnished corridors throughout the long hours of the night, that tuneless muzak tinkling away in the background like a babbling brook, safeguarding the slumbering patients from whatever terrors their dreams may hold for them. The voice comes back every now and again, but its easier for me to ignore it now. After all, I know whats real and whats not. And its getting easier for me to hold on to that now. Easier by the hour.

9. Exploring an abandoned manufacturing plant
Broke into an abandoned manufacturing plant in highschool with a friend. The first floor was aisles with large shelves on either side, about six foot aisles, and you could only see between the aisles through slits in the shelves, so your view of everything was really limited.
At the end of the aisles there was a staircase that went up to a second floor. The floor was mostly rotted through so moving around up there was dangerous, but we were small and 17, so we checked it out anyway. We found a bunch of old rusted out tools and the like but nothing too interesting.
We were up there probably 20 minutes when my buddy yelled over to me that he saw something move downstairs. We assumed we were busted so we snuck back to the staircase. We didn’t see anything moving around downstairs after a couple minutes, so we went down.
When we reached the bottom, we saw someone/thing sprint at the other end of the aisles to the north most aisle, where the window we broke in from was. We moved towards the south end slowly, watching for movement. Eventually we saw something move on the stair side of the north most aisle and we bolted for it, got out, got in the car, drove away.
Still have no idea what the fuck it was. You’d think a person would have some sort of light.
10. At a mental hospital
A friend of mine was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis and was so upset over it that she made a suicide attempt. She landed in the mental health wing of the big hospital, and I went to visit her one evening. Had a hell of a time finding the right place and felt like I’d walked through miles of increasingly decrepit hospital before I found the right wing. Went through a set of double doors and found myself staring down a dimly lit hallway with an incredibly creepy, weathered-looking old lady in a housecoat standing right in the middle of it.
I walked down the hallway nervously, not taking my eyes off of the old woman. She didn’t take her eyes off me, either. I flinched as I walked by her, but she didn’t move. Ten feet beyond her was the doorway to the waiting room of the ward I was looking for. I breathed a sigh of relief as I reached the doors, then glanced over my shoulder to see if the woman had moved.
She was right behind me, staring into my face. I don’t know how she managed to silently cover that ten feet just as fast as I had moved, but she did.
11. Lived in a haunted house
Hopefully this doesn’t get buried. When I was in school we lived in a town called Byron, CA. We lived in a house that I believe was haunted. The room that was in the back of the house I shared with my brother and we had a dog and a cat that WOULD NOT under any circumstance enter that room. On occasion there would be glass marbles that would come rolling down the hallway (wood floors) when nobody would be in our bedroom.
One day we walked into the barn that we had and there was a four point tire iron that was bent into the shape of a swastika and was standing straight up. We found a hole that was approximately 4 feet deep and 5 feet by five feet across. Stacked up next to the hole was a few bags of lime. We had a fenced off yard that had a couple weeping willows growing inside of it. (yard perimeter was about 40 x 40 yards.) More often than not the trees would be moving like there was a strong wind blowing through, however, none of the other trees in the area would be moving and you wouldn’t feel the wind if you were outside the fence line. My mom had a cigarette case that she would always keep two packs of cigs and her lighter in. Every so often she would find the case in obscure places. One time it was the silverware drawer, one time it was in the barbecue pit.
Finally when we decided to move my mom hung up a picture that had a few religious scenes depicted in it. The main focus was the face of Jesus, There was the three wise men crossing the desert, The coming of the Messiah, etc. She hung it up the day that we started staying at my Grandma’s house and were still in the process of moving stuff out of the house and into storage. We came back the next day and found scratched in a few places on the picture. There was a puncture right under Christ’s right eye and just general damage to the picture itself. We changed the locks when we moved in, all the doors were locked, none of the windows were broken, and nothing else was missing or disturbed.

12. Explored an abandoned mental hospital to film a movie
I broke into an abandoned mental hospital to film a movie with some of my friends. It wasn’t a ghostly presence that made it creepy, just the atmosphere. Old rusted-out cribs. Stains on the wall. Asbestos falling down like snow. The place had a documented history of patient abuse and overcrowding. In the sixties, you could get thrown in a state facility relatively easily. Many of my friends are being treated for mental health conditions, and it really freaked me out that had some of them been born forty years previously, they may have been subjected to the same conditions.
13. Lived with ghosts
I grew up Christian and was still religious during the time my family and I lived in a home with what I believed to be multiple spirits. Since then I have become an agnostic atheist, but have been unable to revisit the home and debunk or further investigate. I was in middle school.
At the time, there were, at least, three separate facets that I noticed. In the kitchen of the home there was a sort of warm presence if I was alone and listened very carefully. Once, I heard a beautiful melody of bells-I looked at maps later to see if there was a church nearby that could account for it, but found nothing closer than 5 miles, and we lived in a heavily wooded area.
In the main body of the house (the first floor) there was something that felt somewhat mischievous in that weird, almost malicious but not quite way that a small child has. That one liked to hide things-once it was my mother’s engagement ring, which she finally got fed up and told it off over, and the ring reappeared on her chest of drawers later that day, where she had checked and looked a dozen times already. While slightly annoying, it wasn’t threatening.
And then there was the thing in my bathroom, which was directly adjacent to my shared bedroom with my sister. I always had a bad feeling in there-it was this old bathroom, with carpet (weird, right??) and a clawfoot cast-iron tub. I always felt like I was being watched, whether I was bathing, making my daily ablutions, or using the toilet. Sometimes I’d talk to whatever it was, hoping to lay down the law, and it seemed to listen, although the uneasy feeling didn’t abate.
One night, I was terrified for some reason, and pushed myself back as far as I could against the wall and hid under the covers. That seemed to help, but I had no idea what it was doing if I did that, I realized, and so I pushed up the courage to crawl out from under the blanket and confront the thing face-to-face.
Standing in the doorway to my bedroom was a small boy in greyscale color with ugly purple traces. He stood there, staring at me, and I blinked; suddenly, he was gone, and in his place was a pulsing mass of the same colors, green and grey and purple like a violent thunderstorm rolling in place and menacing me.
That was all I could do. I shoved myself further back against the wall until it hurt and then curled up under the blankets again in terror. Eventually, I fell asleep.
On separate occasions, when my youngest brother was very young and recovering respiratory infections caused by our previous residence (which had black mold), my mother and stepfather’s bedroom was directly under mine. She said she’d hear footsteps from our room to his, and he’d stop coughing. She’d race up the stairs, my stepfather listening for returning footsteps, and find nobody in my brothers’ room-just them, sleeping peacefully.
I’ve been convinced for a long time that something bad happened there, and that the other spirits in the house were keeping the bad one at bay.

14. While out delivering pizza
Wasn’t at a haunted house or anything, but it happened while I was delivering pizzas.
I have no belief in the paranormal nor any spirituality for that matter. Anyways, I was delivering pizzas because I work for a pizza chain. It was about 9:00 at night with almost a full moon out, it was dark but I could still see a good 20 feet in any direction. So I bring the pizza to the door everything goes normally and I start to head back to my car. At about that time I hear a noise like the plastic wheels of a big wheel or something of that nature going down the road a good fifty feet from me. My first thought was “Why would a parent let their child play outside this late?”
As I look over all I see is a faint orange light above where I hear this noise. Not thinking too much of it, I get in my car and back out of the driveway, as my headlights reach where the light is I see the scariest thing I have ever seen in my life. There is like this midget thing just staring off into the woods. The best way I can describe it is it was like it was made of scribbles. Like a moving drawing of sorts but the lines were really jumpy and weren’t contained. I had my headlights on this thing for about 5 seconds before it notices me. As soon as it notices my car, it makes an all out sprint to where I’m sitting. I sat there frozen as this thing sprints at me, It gets about a foot to my car and then disappears. As soon as it disappeared my car died and my headlights cut out. I sat there for a good thirty seconds with my heart racing just waiting for something to happen, my headlights came on after about a minute and I didn’t see anything there. I turned my car back on and noped the fuck out of there. This is the first time I’ve told this story and still have absolutely no idea what it was. I am a firm skeptic but this baffles me
15. Creepy, creepy moments
The phone connected to nothing My mom and dad moved in to a small house, old, 1940/50’s something. Back in those days they had 1 phone in a house and it was usually in a central location so they had a thing called a Phone Niche, a small shelf or pedestal built into the hall or wall near the center of the house somewhere.
Anyway my mom, dad and my older sister (I was not yet born) moved in to this old creepy house and it had one of those and on it sat an old fashion antique phone. The phone itself wasn’t actually connected to anything. You could pick up the entire unit and carry it around so there was no phantom connection under the phone or anything but every once in a while if you picked it up you could hear a dial tone. My mom swore to my dad, if that fucking phone ever rang, they were moving out.
Creepy Rackley house This is why me and my sister called it for the fact that our landlords were Mr and Miss Rackley. Mr Rackley was a nice old man, Miss Rackley was a vindictive witch who hated people being in “her” house. I don’t recall the specific reason that Mr Rackley was renting it out but IIRC it had something to do with medical bills they needed money to pay for. You see, Miss Rackley was pretty sick. I don’t remember with what.
Anyway, at some point after moving in Miss Rackley bit the dust and Mr Rackley continued to live in his apartment and let us rent the house. That’s when shit started getting crazy.
My mom would be laying in bed when she’d hear someone open the deadbolt on the front door, walk in through the house, and sit in bed with her. She’d turn over expecting to see my dad back from work and only see nothing. No one, she’d get up and the front door would be wide open.
So someone was unlocking the door, walking through the house and sitting next to her in bed, yet no one was there. This happened a few times.
My mom started having dreams of walking into the kitchen and seeing Miss Rackley. She’d be covered in blood and she’d point at my mom and scream at the top of her lungs GET OUT!!!*
Now I was a very little guy at the time but I saw a few things like things standing at the end of my bed and my sisters saw the same thing from time to time but being little we didn’t understand that we were seeing something only that there was something there and it scared the crap out of us.
One morning I woke up from a fairly uneventful night, walked into the back yard to find the entire back yard absolutely covered in bones. I don’t mean there was a few bones back there, I mean the entire back yard was fucking blanketed in cow bones, cat bones, dog bones. I don’t think we saw any human bones but I don’t think my parents checked too hard.
Before this I had uncovered 1 cow skull once while digging in the garden. Never saw this amount of skeletal remains before in my life and at 32 I haven’t seen it since with the possible exception of that crazy church made out of bones in France or something.
Needless to say, we moved… but things didn’t get better.

The House on Villa Fresno CA, if you want to look it up. This house, to me, was amazing. We moved in and the previous owner had left not only an awesome fat cat named Lucky but the garage had a box full of HeMan toys including the entire Castle GreySkull play set! FUCKING SCORE!
My sisters weren’t so lucky. By this time it was 3 of us, My older sister me and then my younger sister. I had my own room being the only boy and my sisters had shared a room at the back of the house. My older sister kept waking everyone up in the middle of the night screaming. She said there was someone in her room. She kept seeing a shadow of someone standing over her bed. Then she’d see lights racing around on the wall and hear something stomping around in the attic.
I was a little older by now and skeptical as all hell about everything supernatural so I insisted the lights she saw were merely headlights of people driving down the street. The shadow of the man on the wall was nothing but shadow of the tree outside and the thumping in the attic was probably just her imagination. To back up my claims I pointed to my little sister who also slept in the same room and never once experienced anything. Of course she was very young and might not have noticed.
So one night as an experiment we traded beds. I slept in my older sisters bed and she slept in mine. The only thing you hear in my room was my Hamster running on his wheel.
So there I was, in my sisters bed, listening and watching. Nothing. I fucking knew it! She was making it all up I thought. Then it started. A shadow moved on the wall and I heard something stirring just above my head in the attic. I layed there very still thinking I must have imagined it when I heard it again. It was a very deliberate foot step. Then, slowly one after another Klop, Klop, Klop! across the ceiling. Something or someone was definitely up there doing something! I gave up my vigil and ran screaming into my parents room, waking them up and telling them someone was in the attic. Of course my parents didn’t give a shit and thought I was just being a typical scaredy cat kid. I went back to my room and me and my sister waited out the night.
Days went on and my sister went back to her room. Shit continued to happen and no one did a thing. Finally one day the family was out doing something and we came back home. Just above the front door there was a small vent and inside the vent was a kittens head kinda pressed up against the vent. The kitten was obviously VERY scared and wanted the FUCK out. HOW a kitten got up there is anyones guess.

So my dad has the brilliant idea of giving me a lighter for light and sending me up the portal into the attic…. in my sisters closet. I protested but was overruled as I was a kid and up I went. Dad hoisted me up and I sat with my knees on the upper shelf in my sisters closet with just the upper half of my body in the attic. My only light source, the lighter wasn’t doing much but there was light coming from the vents in various parts of the attic so I could see. I saw…nothing. Of course I didn’t DARE turn around and face the part of the attic that extended over my sisters room. All I did was look straight ahead towards where the little kitten sat scared and curled up in a ball.
I looked around to my sides a bit and saw an old wood burning stove, the kind you’d see in a really old house, a few boxes of god knows what and ahead of me about 8 or 9 feet, the kitten. I tried my damnedest to make the kitten come to me. It very slowly came crawling towards me and without thinking I nabbed the kitten and turned around to climb out of the fucking closet when I came face to face with this. I don’t know if it was a mask or what. It was back about 2 yards or so surrounded by darkness as there weren’t any vents in that part of the attic or something. It was entirely motionless. Didn’t move, didn’t blink didn’t do anything. It made no sound. Nothing.
I straightened my body and me, and kitten, fell out of the closet to the ground and just above my head I heard a lot crash as if something had just pounced on my previous location. I looked behind me, eyes wide in fear, and the porthole to the attic had been closed.
I ran the FUCK out of the house with the kitten and didn’t return for 2 weeks, staying at my grandmothers apartment with my sisters. I had succeeded in at least convincing them that something was up there. Finally being forced to come home eventually I didn’t ever go back into my sisters room. How they slept in there, I’ll never know.
Finally months later my mom and my sisters go out to the store. We’re gone for a while and my dad is left at home drinking beer and cleaning his pistol, fucking awesome combination as, while he was cleaning the thing it discharged into the attic. There was a screeching sound of some sort and something broke through the attic porthole in my sisters room and raced down the hole and out the open front door. Scaring the shit out of my now shitfaced dad.
My mom, my sisters and I came home that night after shopping to find all the neighbors in their front yards staring at our house with their mouths gaping open. My dad in the front yard with his pistol in hand. Apparently we had JUST missed it. I heard the story from my dad and our next door neighbor at the same time. My dad told his version of events and the neighbor told his. He was watering his lawn when he saw this thing emerge from our front door and run and break neck speed, on 4 legs, down the street and disappeared.
Now it’s entirely possible that my parents were in on this, they fabricated the whole thing including the neighbors involvement to make it appear genuine just to put our minds at ease that there was no monster in the attic any more as my dad had apparently shot it on accident. But man were they committed to the lie, as there was a gunshot hole in the ceiling in the living room and the piece of wood that covered the attic hole in my sisters closet was broken in half leaving splintery wood everywhere.

16. Spookiest things came from when it was still operating
There is this abandoned mental hospital in my town called Prudhoe hospital which is sort of the scary place kids go to show bravado. It’s surrounded by woods so obviously you hear lots about it.
You hear lots of stories from people after it was abandoned but the spookiest things come from when it was still in service.
My Mam worked at an auxiliary nurse there for years and she said at night the crippled kids who couldn’t move due to severe diseases and birth defects would somehow get out of there cribs and into the middle of the floor on the wards. Whatever was doing this would also go around and remove blankets from all the patients and again pile them in the centre of the room.
Eventually security was hired believing it was someone getting into the hospital at night and doing all these things to scare people or to just be trouble.
However even with security they never found out who was doing these things at night.
17. Chased by an ambulance
One fall afternoon a buddy of mine and I decided to visit a massive abandoned mental hospital to take some photos. We’re talking 11 wards of two floors and a basement all connected from ward to ward. In total it must be 200-300 linear yards of winding connecting hallways on each floor. You get in and see open cell after cell after cell, peeling paint and graffiti all over the walls. We check the basement, walk through the majority of the wards and are now at ward 8.
We got there early in the afternoon maybe around 2 or 3 because we were too pansy to go at night. Mind you, we’ve heard there are cult gatherings and people have been known to stumble across the occasional hobo on their visits, so we came equipped with a couple of kershaw’s, praying not to get in some fucking knife fight. But, shit, its better to have one than not right? So. Ward 8.
We’re in a connecting hallway with a couple of wired off windows that can see outside, and my buddy says “Yo, yo get away from the window.” We look outside and theres an ambulance, no lights on, creeping slowly around the hospital. He must’ve been going at about 5 miles per hour, so we thought dammit, if theres an ambulance, there must be a cop somewhere (bad logic, I know, but we we’re just worried about being busted for trespassing). The ambulance disappears from our line of sight from the windows, and must’ve driven around all of the other wards at the same pace because a minute or so later, we see the ambulance pass right alongside the hallway we were standing in. Still fucking creeping. Thank god, the ambulance drives away, so we think, okay shit that was just a scare, there’s no cops around, let’s just keep on going.

We slowly advance for another 3 or so minutes and come across a huge lobby, probably the cafeteria and start taking a couple shots of the collapsed ceiling. We walk a bit further into the cafeteria and are by the windows again. The see the ambulance again! Creeping, just like last time, along the perimeter of the building. We hide from the windows hoping that we weren’t seen as the cafeteria is full of windows to the exterior. This time, we start to shit ourselves a little bit more.
He disappears from our line of view again, and of course, comes accross the other side of the building, circling it just like last time, 5 mph, just like last time. This time, however, he doesn’t go leave the complex, he drives up to ward 11, the last ward and parks in a cove with no exit that was right out of our line of sight. We hear the door open and close, and another door open and close. We were able to tell that there was only one person in the ambulance from the first time we sighted it. What the fuck is going on?? Was this guy here to shoot up? seemed like a bad place for a trip. Was he here for some sort of drug deal? Or was he back to “play” with us because he saw us on his last ride around?
We stay put, and at this point, we’re maybe 50 yards from ward 11 and 100-200 yards from the exit that we came in from. We know of no other exits except for the ones at each end. Trying to be as quiet as possible, we begin to hear footsteps on the floor above us. seconds later the footsteps turn into running. Towards us! NOPE, we both instantly go for our knives and begin to book the fuck out of there. The fastest 200 yard dash I will do to this day.
We finally reach the exit. We’re safe goddammit we’re safe. We continue to book it a ways out of the hospital till we’re on the path that gets us back to our car. On the way back to the little lot with my buddies car we see there’s a truck, one of those Jeep Wrangler types parked right next to my buddies car. We get maybe 50 yards away from it when he turns the car on and starts driving down the road towards us. In the car is another middle-aged man, looked real real sketchy. He drives past and thats the last we saw of both of them.
I never got a shot of the ambulance as I was too scared to go near the windows and that my flash would go off, but I did get a shot of the Wrangler in the parking lot.

CLICK BELOW TO NEXT PAGE…

CLICK BELOW TO NEXT PAGE…
I never got a shot of the ambulance as I was too scared to go near the windows and that my flash would go off, but I did get a shot of the Wrangler in the parking lot.

etrian odyssey III part 1: prologue
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
holy shit, it's eo3
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As if tacitly admitting it, the Senatus ruling over Armoroad have invited explorers to their city. The invitation drew throngs of eager explorers who gathered to traverse the undersea maze. But none of the throngs who came to challenge that maze were strong enough to master it. The impenetrable ruins came to be known as the Yggdrasil Labyrinth, and its legend spread further... You yourself are an explorer who has heard its legend and now sail to Armoroad to investigate. Your only objective: to challenge the Labyrinth and win fame and fortune. Your hour is at hand!
i love that the whole plot of eo games is "explore this, get rich and famous"
Tumblr media Tumblr media
so the first place we can go is the explorers guild and-- ok that looks a little glitchy nds emulation is hard
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I'm here to supervise all the explorers who find themselves in our fair burg. Here's a little something I give every new guild for signing up."
Tumblr media
the gradient text box looks cool (he also gives us a cross script, a resolve script, and an offense script. i'll get into what those are for later)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Think hard, because that name may be known someday across the seven seas. It all depends on you."
HELL YEAH
[i held a vote on our guild name and the channel chose “The Troll Slaiyers”, but that’s too long so i went with just “Slaiyers”]
Tumblr media Tumblr media
absolutely not but the people have spoken
Tumblr media
"Well then, step two is registering explorers in your guild. You'll need to hire a few folks, but it's up to you whether or not you want to become a member too." At the Explorers Guild, you can register explorers and organize your party. Choose your favored classes from the list and form a party of up to five explorers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you can talk to npcs in town too
Tumblr media
"Even experienced warriors get swallowed up by that Labyrinth every day... If you've come here as weekend warriors, I'll be straight with you: hit the beach instead."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
we can choose up to five characters to bring along at a time i should add: characters in the front row take more damage from phys attacks and are more likely to be targeted, so it's better to put characters with high defense/vitality there
Tumblr media
[and this is the party the channel voted on]
Tumblr media
"Oh, but before you go, let me explain one more thing. It’s about the documents I just gave you along with the guild certificate... Smart explorers actually read them carefully. If you don’t feel like it, just throw them away... But if you hope to go all the way in the Labyrinth, you’d be well-served giving them a look."
In this game, powerful abilities called Limit Skills can be used by up to five party members. Limit Skills can be learned by obtaining documents with the skill details written in them. Gather various Limit Skills and use them well to make your time in the Labyrinth easier.
Tumblr media
and then we're sent back to the main town screen, only now all the facilities are available to us. we could go to the senatus first like the guildmaster suggested, or we could check out the other places in town...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ONWARD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FIFTH STRATUM
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...and then youre immediately kicked back to the town screen. >:(
Tumblr media
FINE
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Then you’d best remember this: You stand in an assembly hall of the Senatus, Armoroad’s government. And I am she who wields the Senatus’ authority to manage explorers such as yourselves. This is where so-called explorers’ skills are tested to sort the true warriors from the cowards. If you want to be recognized as true Armoroad explorers, accept the mission I issue you now."
Tumblr media
Carry out these missions to gain various rewards and advance the game’s storyline. Select ”Accept mission” from the menu to see the details.
Tumblr media
so there are a few things we can do here. "accept mission", like the game said, lets us accept missions from the senatus. "report results" is how we report completed missions
Tumblr media
"report discoveries" lets us log monsters we've encountered and item drops we've won from battles. materials we get from gathering points are logged in the item compendium too. "talk" is self-explanatory:
Tumblr media
"Just don’t get lost in the assembly hall on your way here!"
anyway, you have to accept the senatus' mission before you can go into the labyrinth, so let's do that
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"The guard there will have more details for you. Look to him before you proceed. Ah, but you must have parchment first, eh? Here is the blank map given to explorers. Use it well."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when she said we have to draw our own map, she wasnt kidding--a big part of the game is drawing a map of each floor on the bottom screen (...uh, i guess it's the "right screen" here) floor tiles are filled out automatically, but you have to draw in the walls and other details yourself
Tumblr media
NOW we're free to go into the labyrinth ...but we're not going to yet. actually, doing so now would be a really bad idea
Tumblr media
......because we still need to buy equipment
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"In that case, welcome to Napier’s Firm. We carry all the weapons, armor, and tools you’ll require. Here at our Firm, the customer is God. We’ll spare no expense for those who line our coffers. Though that is conditional on you participating in a transaction. No window shoppers, please."
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you start out with 500en (short for "ental"), which is just barely enough to get your party equipped
Tumblr media
(i start by buying shuro's sandals for everyone) ...it says theyre made of shuro tree leaf, so i have a feeling the name shouldve just been "shuro sandals", as opposed to implying there's a dude named Shuro or whatever
Tumblr media Tumblr media
i also buy an absurdly expensive shield for homare, because she needs a shield to use her tanky skills, and this is the only one available
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
aaand we're broke
Tumblr media
"Skilled explorers have few qualms at parting with their money. Stinginess never saved a life. All things depend upon money. Your finances dictate whether you master Yggdrasil or die penniless. Remember that. So then, what can I get for you?"
Tumblr media
alright, everyone's all equipped. we could go into the labyrinth now, but im gonna check out the rest of town first just to get it out of the way
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Not only can you spend the night here, we have doctors to treat your wounds, too! So, is this your first time in Armoroad? Isn’t it awesome? Those clear seas! Those blue skies!"
Tumblr media
we're gonna be seeing a lot of this place
"stay" lets us, obviously, stay at the inn. this fully heals the hp/tp of all (alive) party members. it also passes the time a bit, allowing you to stay at the inn until either the next morning or until nightfall
"treatment" lets us revive dead or petrified party members (later games had dead/petrified party members heal automatically when staying at the inn)
Tumblr media
"store" lets us put excess items in storage. this can be pretty useful because we have limited inventory space (and multiples of the same kind of item dont stack)
and "save" is, of course, the most important option of all:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
anyway, we're not actually gonna stay here, because there's no need to. also we're totally fucking broke, in case anyone forgot i mean, we WILL stay here, eventually. but not right now.
Tumblr media
ah, so youve heard about us...
"They call this the ocean city, ’cuz so many people from across the seas wind up here. I bet you’d enjoy taking a walk around town before you go down into the Labyrinth."
good idea! let's do that
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Well, welcomes to you! This is the Butterfly Bistro, and I am the owner here! Once you finish the mission that the old lady gives all the newbies, I can give you work. ...Until the then time, have some drinkings and chattings with the other explorers here!"
Tumblr media
this is where you can accept quests, which are sort of like... mini-missions. tbh there wasnt much reason to do these in eo1 and eo2, cuz the rewards werent too great, but in eo3 they give you exp too, so it's worth it to do as many quests as you can
Tumblr media
anyway, let's talk to this dude
Tumblr media
(bar patrons dont have character portraits, unfortunately)
"I’m Wolfram, a troubadour. I’ve wended my way from the far north all the way to this ocean city. I’ve been here a long time... I may have a few words of advice about challenging that place."
(troubadours were a class in eo1/eo2. theyre bards, basically)
Tumblr media
what should we ask him about first?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Her sobriquet of the Porcelain Princess comes from her pure, white shining skin... Her voice is like music from the harps of the goddesses; radiant enough to tame monsters! But even the goddesses wouldn’t linger in her presence for having to compete with her face... She is Princess Gutrune, a lovely goddess of Armoroad in her own right! Her visage is the stuff dreams are made of... Though, mind you, I’ve never seen her in person. Each successive princess in Armoroad is named Gutrune. I’ll tell you the reason... later."
what should we ask next?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"A free city of clear skies and white clouds, an endless sea, and a vibrant, eclectic culture!
Tumblr media
"...But freedom can’t exist without order. This country does have a royal family. Sadly, the modern royal family has been reduced to mere figureheads... Ah, but who then governs Armoroad? The aristocrats of the Senatus, led by a fearsome old crone! Consider her to be the true power behind Armoroad. You’ll most certainly meet her yourselves. There’s more to Armoroad’s royal family than that, but... Let’s leave that for another time, hm?"
Tumblr media
the calamity, AKA the backstory
Tumblr media
"But around 100 years ago, the center of Armoroad was suddenly swallowed by the ocean! Afterwards, the rippling waters became tidal waves... The gentle breeze gave way to earthquakes. Armoroad’s advanced technology was sunk, which ended diplomatic relations with nearby countries. It’s been a long road to recovery for Armoroad, but even today, it’s nowhere near what it once was... Not since the Calamity. If you ask anyone here, you’ll get nothing but a stony silence. Then again, that’s just because no one knows exactly what went on 100 years ago! It wasn’t all bad, mind you. After the Calamity, a Labyrinth was revealed, drawing explorers here. Though the Senatus had other reasons for gathering explorers... But that tale can wait for now."
Tumblr media
I've Had Enough Of This Guy
Tumblr media
"...Ah, but I jest, I jest. Come again, explorers, if you wish to hear my stories."
Tumblr media
we have better things to do..... such as talking to the barkeep instead
Tumblr media
uh... we're... working on it...
"...Ah, you are just heading out? You may want to gather info before you go in there. Oh, by the by the way, what’s the name of your guild? ...Slaiyers? That’s cool! I will make sure to be remembering it. I am hoping to do a lot of business with you, Slaiyers!"
u///u
Tumblr media
alright, there's just one last place i want to check out before the FIFTH STRATUM
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You’ll need permission from the Senatus to go on voyages, so you should seek that out first."
Tumblr media
...well, that was pointless
Tumblr media
time to FINALLY get this show on the road

The Time I Took My Date To A Porn Cinema
With my reputation as a pervert in mind, you would think anyone I asked on a date to the cinema would know to expect more than a trip to the local Odeon and a family sized bucket of popcorn.
James, however, apparently hadnt anticipated that my plans for our evening together would revolve around large-scale cinematic penetration, projected to a room of willing strangers.
More fool him.
Now, when I tell people this story I think most of them envisage a dark, sweaty room full of frantically wanking men on wipeable seats a place where sticky floors are nothing to do with an extra large spilled Coke.
But I am (for the most part) fairly careful to tread the fine line between entertainment-with-a-twist and all-out sexual debauchery. So, what exactly is half-way between a visit to a semen-covered sex den and a trip to see the latest Pixar?
La Freak Smut Cinema is a pop-up event that moves around predominantly East London, normally finding itself a home in classy-but-quirky cocktail bars with suitably dim lighting. The event is run by two madams – in their own words: shes the scholar and Im the slut – and is a naughty and fun alternative for people who are simultaneously too horny and too broke for Secret Cinema.
Upon arrival, its clear that despite the potential for manic masturbators, it is frequented mostly by trendy, middle-class couples who are probably looking for a sexy alternative to having a threesome with the babysitter. And yes, ok, Ill admit it- there was one shifty looking bloke on his own, but his penis, at this stage at least, was nowhere to be seen. Anyway, when you are sat in a room watching porn with strangers, who can really judge who as being a pervert?!
Now, confession time (as if this entire blog wasnt confession enough)- I had actually been to this particular cinema before, as a last ditch attempt to re-ignite the dying embers of a past relationship. It had worked like a Spice Girls reunion, i.e for one night only. But being a rather enjoyable and slightly saucy experience, I didnt see the harm in coming again (no pun intended).
It had worked like a Spice Girls reunion, i.e for one night only.
But there is a problem with attending a porn cinema twice: you look like a bit of a sex pest. Some things, like a love of Celebrity Big Brother or penchant for Pot Noodles, should remain hidden until your prospective suitor is invested enough that they are willing to ignore a vice or two or eight or ten And so, I had neglected to tell my date about my previous public porn experiences.
Any attempts to keep this secret, however, were thwarted on arrival when, as my date suspiciously took in his surroundings, I was greeted by a swift paddle to the arse and an exclamation of Darling, so good to see you again!.
So much for patron confidentiality.
Cat out of the bag we headed to the bar, where I smiled sheepishly, shrugged and ordered a large and very alcoholic drink.
With two, probably quite shocking, revelations made in the space of about five minutes I was impressed that James was still standing. But with giant cocks about to be thrust in his face (not literally, of course) I was worried that a sensitive disposition may suddenly reveal itself and thought it best to change that, so we took our seats and settled in.
Of course, events such as this should, by their nature, attract people of a more free and easy persuasion. But no matter how liberal people consider themselves to be, once confronted by a room in which the loudest thing that can be heard is the unmistakable suction noise of a penis repeatedly entering a vagina, its very easy for them to revert to the typically British stance on publicly viewed sex that is, that it should only occur when watching an episode of Game of Thrones.
To be fair, the challenge of acclimatization wasnt exactly helped by the fact that the first film which, to avoid being implicated in operation YewTree, I should point out was a CARTOON focused on a little girl masturbating. We looked on quietly horrified, but again too British and too polite to protest, while she rolled around amongst the flower buds with a finger on her, uh, flower bud. After what seemed like a fucking eternity these enveloped her in a climatic ecstasy before she re-emerged, a fully fledged and, thankfully legal, woman.
It was, I guess, meant to symbolize sexual awakenings and burgeoning femininity. A theory that I was now desperately trying to convey to my probably-terrified date. I attempted this through what can only be described as a series of gymnastic eyebrow movements. This and the other, equally, if not more, important message of by the way I am not a pedophile. Luckily, while obviously perturbed, his capacity for the downright-fucking-weird/borderline-illegal seemed strong, something that would stand him in good stead if we were to continue dating.
The rest of the porn was, all in all, less controversial something not hard to achieve considering how wed started and catered to a variety of kinks, including bondage, dildo usage and gay sex. In places it was even arty enough to be considered cultural rather than simply perverse. An effort that was possibly wasted on me.
All of this meant that, despite a rocky start, I soon felt a hand on my knee. This was, of course, a welcome development but I couldnt help but check that it was 1) who I thought it was and 2) an invitation and not a cry for help. And yes, on inspection, I found that James expression had changed from one of terror and trepidation to something like the look an extremely hungover person might give a Maccy Ds.*
And, actually, it wasnt just him. It was clear to see that, for others too, the hormones had started to flow and the blood to pump. This, of course, could have been something to do with the wine that had flowed and the beer that had been pumped. Public porn watching, it could be concluded, is all about achieving the right level of lubrication who would have thought it. Either way, people were horny as fuck. Myself included. Although I still kept a wary eye on the bloke on his own in case of any rapid and repetitive arm movements.
Now, if my experiences at weird events have taught me anything, it is to always expect the unexpected. But what came next shocked even me. And I had just been forced to watch cartoon kiddy porn for Gods sake.
Someone only went and fucking proposed!
I kid you not- down on one (probably quite sticky) knee, amongst a sea of twitchy hands and awkward public boners. Im not sure who was more surprised: the gaggle of horny audience members or the blushing bride-to-be. But if she was hesitant about getting betrothed in front of a 20 foot vagina, or in any way wondering how she would relay this story to her grandchildren, she didnt show it as she gleefully accepted. It just goes to show, sometimes the thing more shocking than a guy in a gimp mask having his testicles trodden on, is true love.
Overall, despite the multiple opportunities for awkwardness, embarrassment, and general fucking weirdness, the evening was a success. So much so that the audience, having revealed their true perverted nature, requested the porn reel to be stuck back on while we finished our drinks. Although we were informed, we were going to skip the weird, pervy and paedophilic cartoon from the beginning. It turns out even porn peddlers have their line. And so, our date came to a close to the soundtrack of gentle moans and a now rather drunken Madames proclamations of Its alright for you lot, Ive got to stay and clean up. Youre all going home to fuck each others brains out!
Did we? A lady doesnt kiss and tell.
She does, however, watch porn and write about it.

Golden Goose Sneakers Sale list
UPDATE 4:?Apparently, Kanye and Wiz had the chance to speak yesterday and?all is well.
Me and Wiz spoke yesterday. Great convo. All positive.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 2, 2016
UPDATE III:
Your guess is as good as ours as to what this means, but Amber Rose and Kim Kardashian seem to be showing a united front on social media, both sharing the same selfie on Twitter. Apparently Kanyes Twitter rant against Wiz didnt bother the pair too much.
Swingers ???? pic.twitter.com/S5AgWlWO7x
— Amber Rose (@DaRealAmberRose) February 2, 2016
Tea anyone? pic.twitter.com/HbkIJa998c
— Kim Kardashian West (@KimKardashian) February 2, 2016
UPDATE II:
We didnt think Kanye would actually address the comments made by Amber Rose regarding his preferences in the bedroom, but apparently West felt like he needed to clear the air once and for all
I’m not into that kind of shit… I like pictures and videos Me and my wife got the kind of love that can turn exes into best friends
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 29, 2016
Exes can be mad but just know I never let them play with my ass… I don’t do that… I stay away from that area all together
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 29, 2016
UPDATE:
Just in case our recap of the beef didnt provide a thorough-enough explanation, Jimmy Kimmel a seasoned veteran when it comes to Kanye West beefs summarised the feud on his late-night TV show Jimmy Kimmel Live! Check it out below.
Yesterday?Kanye unleashed a savage tirade of tweets aimed at Wiz Khalifa, for all the internet to see. The feud all started when Wiz took?to Twitter, expressing?his displeasure with the new name of Kanyes forthcoming album, which is now titled Waves.
Wiz took it upon himself to interject, reminding his followers that Harlem rapper Max B was the first to popularize the term wavy in hip-hop culture. The term was originally intended to describe Maxs rhythmic style of melodic rapping.?Kanye did end up acknowledging Max B on Twitter, although Wiz remained staunchly unappeased.
New album title, WAVES
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 27, 2016
Max B is the wavy one. He created the wave. There is no wave without him.
— Wiz Khalifa (@wizkhalifa) January 27, 2016
Yea aight. https://t.co/z1syUIGo4G
— Wiz Khalifa (@wizkhalifa) January 27, 2016
All respect to Andre Harrel and Max B #Waves
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 27, 2016
Some could say another Chicago rapper Mick Jenkins was also slighted by Kanyes change of title, as Micks album Wave[s] hit iTunes last August, however Jenkins stayed comparatively?quiet on the matter.
But back to the main event given the pre-exiting tension between Wiz and Kanye (Wiz is father to a two-year-old son with Kanyes former love interest Amber Rose), Kanye didnt need any further instigation to fully go off on Wiz.
Ye?wasted no time in going straight for the throat, letting?loose a ferocious Golden Goose Sneakers Sale list of bullet points that?denounced?Wiz?for biting Kid Cudis style, labelled?his music as corny, called Amber Rose a stripper, and asserted I am your OG and I will be respected as such. However the?coup de grace?was?when Kanye went so far as to imply? You wouldnt have a?child if it wasnt for me.
Adding further fuel to the fire, Kanye misinterpreted the initials KK found on Wizs Twitter as those of Kim Kardashian, which in a comical turn of events actually turned out to be Wizs abbreviation for his own strain of marijuana, Khalifa Kush.
Hit this kk and become yourself.
— Wiz Khalifa (@wizkhalifa) January 27, 2016
I’m happy that I now know that KK means weed… please excuse the confusion … now back to #WAVES
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 27, 2016
The?series of tweets (see the full extent of Kanyes rant) exhibited the unfiltered, stream-of-thought delivery that Kanye cant help but regress?into time and time again.
Dont assume for one second that Amber Rose would be hesitant to throw herself into the fray with a response. Right on cue, real-name Amber Levonchuck added some interesting comments to the situation.
But Rose has been throwing shade at Kanye and the Kardashians for some time, not limited to her accusatory comments on Tyga dating an underage Kylie Jenner. During a different spat, Amber even went so far as to call?Kim a whore on Twitter.
Awww @kanyewest are u mad http://www.goldengoosestar.com/ Im not around to play in ur asshole anymore? #FingersInTheBootyAssBitch?
— Amber Rose (@DaRealAmberRose) January 27, 2016
Lol @kanyewest Now u wanna delete ur tweets cuz Muva has arrived? #TwitterFingers #UrGettingBodiedByAStripperNigga
— Amber Rose (@DaRealAmberRose) January 27, 2016
In the end, Kanye did wrap things up by bringing our attention back to?SWISH,?er?Waves. Even Khloe Kardashian hopped on Twitter to express her solidarity during the back-and-forth. At least Kanye conceded that Wiz does in fact own a cool pair of pants, #wizwearscoolpants. Alls well that ends well right?
This album is actually a Gospel album
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 27, 2016
Good energy positive energy
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 27, 2016
Man it’s a sad a day… Wiz lost 2 million followers since I tweeted I didn’t mean to either him like that.
— KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) January 27, 2016
Yeezy for president!!!!! @kanyewest #Waves
— Khloé (@khloekardashian) January 27, 2016
As always, Twitter reacted to the beef in hilarious fashion. Here are some of our favorites.
When a woman mad at you they either going to say you got a little dick or you like your anus tampered with. pic.twitter.com/vv4jLbubi8
