Vampire Geto Suguru
A/N: Ok so this entire writing makes zero sense because it sounds like i'm making this a short story, but I realized like halfway through that there is no way for me to finish this unless it becomes a short story and I felt every single patient bone in my body disappear at the realization. So...it's gonna sound unfinished. But if you ask questions about Vampire Suguru x Half-Vampire Reader, I will answer questions. I want to answer all possible questions that can't be answered in this 'supposed-to-be-a-short-story.' Cuz it has amazing potential that my hands can't fulfill.
Suguru almost has everything he's ever wanted. Power. Local fame. And control over the city he could call his. His followers, devotees, were nothing but scum on the bottom of his shoe that he could scrape off anytime he wanted. In the heart of Tokyo, he owns a corporate building meant to attract wealthy families in hopes of healing them of their pains and sins. Almost like what a place of worship would be.
Near-wealthy men and women sit in the largest room the floor below the top floor, meant to sit there in honor of Geto blessing their eyes with his presence. He is all they need and nothing more. He often convinces the people who make an appointment with him that it's the same thing for them, as well. But he's good at manipulating.
Filthy rich men and women, sometimes entire families, come crawling to him to fix family problems, their perverted minds, their souls, their bodies, in hopes they'd be pure at the end of the night. Instead, they become his next meal. Peasant human blood tastes a little too rotten for his liking. So, he sticks to the next best thing. The poor should be thanking him for taking the load for them.
The only problem was that nowhere in Japan was there vampires. At least, not anyone past his bloodline. But he already erased them entirely. Human women reek of selfish desires, tainted iron in their blood, and sex. It's so clear what they want and he can never get past the smell. So, as far as the seas go, he's never seen someone he could busy his mind with for the next couple thousand of years. If not, eternity. But who knows how long his patience will last until then...?
His nose was guiding him somewhere, currently.
His feet following the invisible trail of the scent. The smell he's only picked up back when his bloodline was still alive. When they were in their prime. When they were farthest from their human counterparts. There's no way he could find what he's thinking of, right?
His nose led him into a small grocery store. Somewhere around the alleyways and crooked backstreets in between the tall buildings in Tokyo at 2 in the morning. Only his kind would be out at this time of night.
He walks in, the fluorescent light accentuating his pale skin and muscular figure. His black hair and clothing makes him stick out in the midst of the colorful food choices surrounding him. And in between the different smells of fresh ripe fruit and disinfectant chemicals, he could catch the natural musk of another him.
Another him.
Another vampire.
He ignores the cashier asking if he needed help and nearly speed-walked through one of the aisles, the scent only getting stronger. He grows more determined and turns the corner only to run into a shorter girl, dressed in black like he was. You both make eye contact.
You two share a very silent and quick understanding of who was in front of who. And who was what.
"Excuse me," You mutter.
You attempt to side-step him and ignore him like nothing ever happened, and he mirrors your movement, effectively blocking you.
You look back up at him, your eyes more piercing than the first time you made eye contact. He could see the color difference the moment you moved to look up at him. Now that he was close enough, he could also smell your irritation. You're not dead.....you're half-human. No wonder.
He clenches his jaw. He knows himself enough to understand that he wouldn't even consider letting you go, knowing he just found the first non-relative vampire in Japan since- he doesn't even know how long. Black coat, a neat white turtleneck and skirt underneath the coat. Leggings, socks, and shoes follow the black and white pattern. Original skin color being paler than usual. Somewhat of muscle definition hidden. He was scaring you. He can smell it. And your fangs are beginning to poke out. And can he hear you growling at him?
He finds himself smiling, pleased with how his night was now going. "I apologize for bumping into you. Please, allow me to pay for your-" You shoulder him hard enough to almost knock him into the stand of chips behind him. No one's showed him that amount of strength in a while. He follows close behind you, not letting the moment phase him.
You place your things on the front desk, and the cashier matches your pace, scared of the, now two, taller figures watching him do his job. Both you and Geto seemed to tower over him from across the counter, eyes unfaltering in their predatory stare. You just want to get the hell out of the store and Geto....he just doesn't like the guy. He squeaks out the total, and before you could dig in your purse fast enough to grab your wallet, Geto places his card on the counter. You don't even bother to turn around and just wait silently for the cashier to finish up. When the transaction is over, Geto moves to grab his card again and you're already halfway out the door, things in hand.
You don't look back, hoping he would finally stop pursuing you. Once you turn the corner, Geto's already there, leaning against the wall, arms crossed. You let out a nasty hiss, nearly snarling at him and he raises his hands up. "I know. I'm not here to hurt you. I just...wanted to introduce myself." "I don't need your introduction. I know pretty clearly who you are. And what you are. Leave me the hell alone."
Geto's face dropped slightly when you tried to brush him off again and turned the other way with your groceries in hand. Once again, he's reminded of centuries of loneliness and his hand is already grabbing your arm. "Wait." You grunt in annoyance and slight fear. His man was a full vampire. You moved to Japan to avoid any kind of vampires. You wanted silence in your life from all kinds of people that would be after you to court you and kill you just because you're a half-breed. And the one time you thought you could finally have silence, there's a rich and powerful man in Japan who's almost like a Monk who can solve all problems of the modern man. And he's acting as if he's one of them, but turns out to be a pure blood. You didn't care if he told you sweet words.
You didn't want to die.
"Aren't you lonely? Being the only vampire in the city? I just want a companion. Someone who's like me. I don't want to sound desperate, but you're the only vampire I've meet in Japan in ages. Is friendship too much to ask for?"
You turn around, thankful for him letting go of you. "I left my hometown to escape all of the vampires coming after me. You being here is the only issue I have in Japan. Everything else is a blessing to come across. As much as I would like to help someone in need, all I want is to be alone."
Suguru wish he cared about your past as much as he cared for his own mental sanity.
For a half-blood, you were stronger than you let on. Getting you into the, very well decorated and furnished, basement was a hassle. You gave him a few nasty scars and ruined his shirt. But once you were thrown back through the heavy doors for the 4th time, you finally settled with the realization that you can't get past this man. Your ear piercing screams and bites turned into whimpers and cries as you attempted to comfort yourself in the corner of the cold room.
He felt bad. He didn't want you to be so...scared of him. But there's no other way for you to accept him. You tired yourself out and even broke one of your nails(it was already almost fully back) trying to escape.
Suguru sighed, discarding his tattered shirt. "I'm sorry things had to be this way. I do wish we can get along a little better when the time comes. But for now, it's just going to have to be like this." He sits on his old couch and sighs when one of his servants comes in with a pouch of blood. You watch her eye your captor down before smiling at him with the blood on a serving tray. "Good evening, Master-" Her voice obviously pitched to try and please him, when it did the exact opposite. You snarl and before she can finish her sentence, you tackle her to the ground, landing on the opposite side of the room.
She screams bloody murder as your nails dig into her skin, your mouth reaching for the crevice. She's never seen another one of you. Another vampire. She thought her master was the only one in the world, the only one meant to be considered and known. But here you were, ruining her ideologies. Killing her with your selfish nature. She wishes she could hurt you back, but you were bigger, stronger, and would haunt her in her worst nightmares in ways only Suguru said he could. You were everything he said he was. And she hated it.
Not like it mattered when your teeth breached her skin, sucking her unworthy blood for all she's known for. You groan at the taste of good blood for the first time in over 100 years. You stopped drinking blood back at home when you knew it'd get you nowhere, trying to hide. But you had a reason now. You had to leave this place.
Each swallow of warm iron made you feel brand new. You felt lighter. You felt energized. You felt angry that you stopped for so long. How stupid were you to give up something so good? Your outfit started to feel too tight. You were growing back to your natural height.
Suguru got up, watching you tear into his servant. He got a whiff of your scent once more, it was more potent, almost entirely different. He almost felt ashamed being turned on by it, but this is exactly what he wanted. Someone to indulge his fantasies in. You were perfect for him.
When you finished, you detached yourself from the girl's neck and stared at the dehydrated corpse underneath you. Suguru's voice was enhanced now that your hearing is back to how it's supposed to be. "I'll have someone discard the body." You ripped off the tight shoes on your feet and stood, meeting his eyes. You were a probably a couple of inches shorter than him. Definitely taller than you used to be.
"Let me go." You watched his eyes trail to your lips covered in blood and wanted to swipe him so bad. But you knew he was still stronger than you, even at full strength. You can smell it. (You would never admit he smelled so good.) Suguru smiles at your words. "I can't, Princess."
You step closer, almost attempting to size him up. "At least let me shower. Are you gonna neglect me of that, too?" "Only if I can't have the honors of doing it myself." You scoff, shouldering him on your way to the couch. He actually rubs his shoulder in pain this time. "If I let you bathe, you have to promise me that you won't try to escape. My home can only take so much damage." Suguru realizes he likes teasing you. "I'll let you prove yourself to me this one time. I hate that human scent lingering on you."
"I'm a half-breed." "You know that's different." You sigh this time, rubbing your face.
It's gonna be a while before you find a way to escape this lunatic.

Keychain
Smutty
You didn’t even need to tell me it should be smutty—I know you well 😂
Anyway, I think you’ll enjoy this one 🩶
**********
8 weeks. That’s all it had been. Tommy was obviously batshit insane to be thinking about this already. He knew it. God knew it. The guy at the key cutting place definitely knew it because Tommy couldn’t help but excitedly tell him that the key was for his boyfriend.
And Tommy was not an excited yapper. He wasn’t the type of guy to share his feelings very often with people he knew let alone the old man who just wanted to quietly get on with his job of cutting a key.
But Evan did that to him. Evan had turned him in to a 6’2” gooey mess of a man whenever he thought about him. Or saw him. Or heard him. Tommy was absolutely done for already.
For the first time since in weeks their shifts had aligned and they were about to share a full 72 hours off shift together. Buck wanted them to spend the entire time naked, but Tommy had managed to negotiate some clothed time to pick up groceries and run a few other errands.
Buck picked up their plates to put in the dishwasher as Tommy topped up their wine glasses.
“Oh. I forgot I got you something.” Tommy said opening up one of the drawers. He held out the shiny, dangling object to Buck.
“A little helicopter key chain” He grinned.
“Yep. For this.” He held up the silver key in his fingers. A subtle look of confusion came across Bucks face and Tommy couldn’t help but chuckle. Buck was by no means dumb, but he definitely had his moments. “It’s a key to this place. This way when you get off before me, you let yourself in.” He snaked his arms around Bucks waist. “I like the idea of coming home to you.”
*
A few days later they were back to work and Tommy had had a tough shift. Nothing major happened, just one call after another. He was tired and looking forward to going home. Evan was working the opposite shift so was going to come over for breakfast when his shift ended.
He dragged himself into his home and made his way upstairs with plans to shower away the day.
He thought it odd at first that his bedroom door was closed—he never usually closed it. Figuring that he’d closed it without realising, he opened the door and was immediately greeted with a sight that made every drop of blood in his body shoot directly to his heart and dick.
Candles (battery operated—they were firefighters of course) were placed all around the room bathing everything in a warm glow, and laying on the centre of Tommys bed, completely naked and slowly stroking himself, was Evan.
“Jesus fucking Christ.”
Buck smiled across at him.
“Are you just going to stand there or-“ Buck didn’t get a chance to finish the sentence before Tommy was on top of him, enveloping him in a filthy, searing kiss.
Buck let out a whine and Tommy felt every organ inside his body vibrate at the sound. He pushed his groin into Bucks.
“You’re wearing.. too-ah! Too many.. clothes.”
Without saying a word, Tommy stood up and set a record for how quick he could get naked. He got back down onto the bed, this time pulling Buck on top of him. He grabbed Bucks neck, pulling his lips back to his own, desperately needing to taste him.
Buck immediately started rutting against him and Tommy reciprocated, bucking his hips upward. Tommy had been with plenty of men, but the sound of them didn’t even come close to comparison in hearing the pleasured sounds Buck made.
Tommys hand slid down Bucks back to his ass. He gripped it tightly, sure he’d leave marks. He slipped his fingers between the cheeks and when it made contact with Bucks rim, he stopped and looked at Buck.
“Did.. did you prep yourself already?” He asked with a dry mouth.
Buck flicked an eye brow “I had to do something while waiting for you to come home.”
The guttural sound that came from Tommy’s throat should be studied. He took Buck into another searing kiss before flipping them back over in one quick move.
“Do you know how hot it is that you can manhandle me?” Buck asked.
“Why do you think I do it?” He replied with a smirk.
“Kiss me.” Evan pleaded and who was Tommy to say no? He was fairly convinced that Bucks kissing could cure all of his worldly problems. It was addicting. His plump lips, his soft tongue, the taste of his mouth.. He loved it all.
He moved his kisses along Bucks jaw and down to his collar bone, gently nipping as he went.
“Ah! Tommy.. please.. I-ah.. I want y-you.”
“After walking in to this tonight—you can have anything you want, baby.” He kissed Buck again then reached over grab the bottle of lube that Buck had handily left out for him.
He grunted as he coated himself in the fluid before grabbing Bucks legs to move them up. Buck, however, reached up and placed a hand on his chest to stop him.
“No. Not like this.” He sat up and turned himself around onto his all fours. Tommy swallowed hard.
He’d taken things incredibly slow with Buck when it came to sex. He eased him in gently—only have full penetrative sex for the first time 2 weeks ago. And they’d only done with either Tommy on top, or Buck on top riding him. Mostly because Tommy loved seeing Bucks face as he fell apart, but also because he wanted to be able to gauge Bucks responses to make sure he was comfortable.
“Are you sure?” He asked, having to concentrate on making sound actually come out of his mouth.
“Please, Tommy!” Buck whined and Tommy honest to god almost came at the sound. He was already falling for Evan anyway, but seeing him bent over on his hands an knees for him; his hole glistening and ready for him made him consider stealing another helicopter and taking him straight to a chapel in Vegas.
“You are sent from fucking heaven, I swear.”
He put a hand on Bucks lower back to stabilise him and took his cock in his hand, guiding it to Bucks rim. He held it there for a second, mostly to calm himself down. Buck shifted his hips back, desperate to feel Tommy inside of him.
“Please! I need it!” Buck whined again, which was not helping Tommys composure. But he couldn’t hold back and more and slid himself over the threshold. He only intended on pushing a little way in but Buck had prepped himself so well that he slid all the way in to the root.
The surprise caused them both to moan.
“Christ!” Tommy moaned. He didn’t wait before moving; just immediately pulled back and shoved himself back in. He hit Buck right in the spot he was aiming for.
“Fuck!” Buck cried out and Tommy felt him grip around him. This wasn’t going to last long, he thought as he slammed back into his boyfriend.
Quickly the room was filled with moans and groans and cries from both of them. Tommys fingers gripped hard onto Bucks hips for leverage and Buck was feverishly pushing back into him.
“God, Evan.. fuck!”
“Tom-Tommy.. I-I… I can’t.. it’s too.. much, I..”
“You’re fuck-fucking beautiful like.. like this!”
Tommy felt his balls drawing up and heat building sharply in the pit of his stomach. He was so close to exploding. He could feel Buck losing his rhythm, getting frantic in his movements. He knew he was close. He reached forward, wrapping an arm around Bucks shoulders from the front, pulling up upright then grabbing his face and turning it so he could kiss him. It was hot and wet and sent them both perilously close to the edge.
He sat back on his ankles, pulling Buck into him so he was sat on Tommys lap. Bucks head fell back onto Tommys shoulder as he bounced on Tommys cock; his arms raised up and back grabbing onto Tommy’s neck as he kissed and sucked on Bucks throat. Tommy could feel the sweat from Bucks back against his chest.
Every vein and artery in Tommys body was pulsating and in danger of exploding. He reached around and grabbed Bucks, slick with pre-come, cock and fisted it quickly.
“Oh fuck!” Buck tried to take in a big breath but couldn’t. It was too much. He was breaking apart and Tommy could feel it all.
“Come for me, Evan. I need to feel you come.” Tommy panted into his ear. And it was enough.
Tears fell from Bucks eyes as he exploded all over Tommys sheets and hand. His body buckled and he fell forward involuntarily, crying out Tommys name loudly. Before Buck had finished Tommy exploded with force inside of him with his own cry.
“Fuck, Evan!” He fell forward onto Bucks soaking wet back; both of their bodies shaking as their orgasms ripped through them. Bucks body fell flush to the bed, with Tommy’s body following; still connected to Bucks.
Slowly Tommy softened and he slid out of Bucks body.
“Oh my god.” He said falling onto his back next to Buck. “You are.. fuck, Evan! Do you even know what you do to me?” He pulled Bucks face into his for a firm, breathy kiss.
Buck took a bit longer to get his words back. “Glad you gave me a key?” He teased with that beautiful grin.
“Baby I’ll give you the whole fucking house.” He replied and Buck laughed hard. “Just say the word and the deeds are yours.”
“I don’t know.. not sure you can handle living with me.” Buck joked. And it was a joke—he wasn’t actually suggesting they move in together. As impulsive as he was sometimes, even he knew 8 weeks was probably too soon.
But Tommy didn’t feel the same way.
“Maybe you should move in and we can find out.” He said, with a straight face and looking into Bucks eyes. It took Buck a moment to realise Tommy might not actually be joking.
Tommy was serious. Was it too soon? Maybe. But he’d spent enough years of his life living in fear, and always taking measured steps. He didn’t want to do that anymore. He was totally in love with Evan already and the idea of coming home to him every day—not just naked and ready—made his heart bigger.
“Are you serious?” Buck asked.
“I love you, Evan. I’m completely and stupidly in love with you. And I know it’s probably too soon, and everyone will think we’re crazy, but I want you here. I want to wake up with you every day. I want you to take over my kitchen with all of your ridiculous gadgets. I want to argue about whose turn it is to do the laundry, I want.. I want you, Evan.”
The 10 or so seconds it took for Buck to respond felt like hours. Tommy’s heart was thudding in his chest; terrified he’d moved too quickly and was going to scare Evan away. But eventually he spoke.
“Hold on—if I’m going to be doing most of the cooking, I think it’s only fair that you do the laundry.”
“I don’t think-wait, is that a yes?!” Tommy couldn’t have stopped the grin from spreading across his face if he tried. Buck cupped his face and kissed him softly.
“I love you too, Tommy. And yes, it’s a yes.” Tommy took him by surprise and grabbed him tightly into a hug. Buck laughed and it was the greatest sound Tommy ever heard.
“I’m not kidding by the way—you’re totally doing all of our laundry.”

how they show you they love you
call of duty headcanons #7
hc masterlist // masterlist
finished shadow and bone today...for the fourth time of watching it...i still miss it :(
rating: explicit
-
quality time and physical touch
likes to be near you all the time
preferably with a hand on you, even a tamed one
hand resting on your thigh in the car, palm on your lower back walking through town, stroking your shin while your legs rest over his lap on the sofa when you're watching a movie
always feels calmer when he's near you
never likes to do things alone. even simple things like cooking or tidying the house
finds much more enjoyment in doing it with you
his favourite thing to do is to cook with you
likes to be the taster for new concoctions you've created
leaves you in charge of the music, often using the spare time between cooking to dance in the kitchen with you
if you go out on an idle shopping trip, or even just to pick up a package, he's often following you out of the door to join you
even if you say you'll only be five minutes, he's still grabbing his jacket
brings his work into the living room, his laptop, his paperwork, everything
will sit beside you while you read or work and keep you company
is a domestic partner at heart
doesn't feel like physical touch has to always be of the sexual nature
his favourite way to wind down is to have you led on his chest, while his fingers drift through your hair
its calming, for the both of you
often times, it sends you to sleep in minutes, but it calms him, makes him forget about the stress he'd endured during the day
acts of service
he never asks if you need help, not really, but if he notices you struggling with something, he's there in a second to help you
if you mention you're running low on something, it somehow appears the next day
he's very intuitive. somehow, you don't know how and you don't plan on asking, but he's figured out your cycle
every month, a day or two before your period starts, the bathroom is restocked with sanitary products, the kitchen is stocked with your favourite snacks, and the medicine cabinet is loaded with everything to ease your monthly pain
he always woke before you, knowing you hated early mornings, but he knew exactly when you'd wake up in a morning
it was always the same time
so there was always a coffee waiting on the bedside table, still hot when you opened your eyes
and he knew you hated doing the laundry, but you loved taking it out of the dryer, so he'd make sure there was half an hour after you woke up before the dryer finished its cycle
he knew your favourite smell was freshly dried linen
liked to help, with anything
felt sort of prideful if you came to him with something
even just a knot in the laces of your shoes, he looked indifferent as he silently took your shoe and meticulously undid the knot, but he had a little glow in his chest when he handed it back to you
gift giving
goes out of his way to bring you something back after every deployment
whether its something he's found at a local market that he'd knew you'd like, or even something he'd picked up walking back to your shared home
your house was filled with flowers, sea shells, funny shaped rocks. all of that he'd pocketed while walking to get groceries or found while mowing the lawn
you always told him he never had to get you anything, but as always he never listened
it was his way of showing his love, so you stopped questioning it after a while
if he had to leave suddenly, without time to say goodbye, you'd find a note on the bedside table held down by a gift
sometimes it was jewellery, sometimes it was a flower, it was always different
his favourite thing to do with you was to take you to the markets
they came through your town every few months, and you could smell the food vendors from your bedroom window
soap kept an eye on whatever tickled your fancy, he'd learned to figure out which things caught your eye over others
your gaze always flickered back to certain objects, your fingers running over the things you liked most
he waited until you'd moved on to another stall before paying the seller and pocketing the gift for later
words of affirmation
doesn't shut up about you, ever
you've walked downstairs in your pajamas and wet hair from the shower and he's still said that you looked adorable
always compliments you, on anything you do
in the early stages of your relationship, you thought what he was saying was an act
something to get you in his car and back to his place
it wasn't that simple, but there was always that little part of your brain nagging that he was putting on a facade when he complimented you
after a while, a long while, you realised that that was just who he was
he never had a bad word to say about you
his endearing ways of talking never failed to make you blush, and he loved that
seeing your cheeks burn a deep red as you turned your face away from him
even on your worst days, if you were full of a cold, or overworked from your job, or muddy from walking through the fields with the dog, the compliments and loving phrases kept coming
"how's my pretty little cough-pot?" was always his favourite
he'd take care of you while you were ill, often bringing you sweet tea or pills to help satiate the fever. but that never meant there wasn't a smile on your face
"had anyone ever told you how goddamn perfect you are?"
you'd roll your eyes still, even after years of it, and smile to yourself
"shut up, gaz. i haven't showered in three days, work is kicking my arse, i'm not in the mood for your little lies."
he'd always act offended, hand over his heart
"i would never lie to you, love. you look so cute, all focused and scowly in front of your computer."
your scowl was one of his favourite looks of yours
it made your face scrunch and contort, the bridge of your nose crumpling on itself and your eyes squinting
yet to him, you still looked beautiful

Sharing a home
word count; 1044 – gn!reader, request from @cosmiicdust <3
You work in a small office managing a growing company’s finances. Your coworkers are all gossip lovers, and you had updated them lately of the process of moving in with your boyfriend, Akagi Michinari, which had spanned over the last few weeks before finally finishing yesterday. Because the company was so small, you all took time to chatter and create a nice environment throughout your workday, which of course often steered onto the topic of romantic partners. And no one was prouder of theirs than you.
While packing up your bags for the day, finished with all your tasks, one of your older coworkers walked through the door, announcing for everyone that “someone’s lovely boyfriend is outside and making us reconsider the quality of our own love lives,” as an affectionate complaint. It caught your attention how she was clearly aiming at you.
With a growing grin on your face, you sped up and slung your bag over your shoulder before waving goodbye to everyone as you made your way outside. There he stood, your lovely long-term boyfriend holding a fresh bouquet of your favourite flowers. He waved at you shortly, a bit shy as he had stood there for a little while.
“Michinari!” you cooed, embracing him in a hug before leaning back to kiss his lips. “I didn’t know you would be here!”
Akagi shrugged his shoulders, cheeks flushed with something sweet as he put his free arm around you. “I just thought we should walk home together,” he said, making you purse your lips and nod in agreement. Your shared apartment that already felt like home, simply because it had both of you in it.
This was your first day back at work after taking a few days off to move the last load of furniture, and Akagi decided it was only right for you to walk home together. As if you didn’t already love him enough, he gave you another reason to make your coworkers jealous, even though they were endlessly happy for you.
So the two of you strolled home, flowers in your arms and your bag on his shoulder as your intertwined hands swung between you. The both of you took turns telling the other about your day, also trying to figure out what you wanted to have for dinner.
“I’ve been craving fish,” he told you, a small pout on his lips as he looked at you. You sighed and thought about it.
“I really wanted chicken, though,” you said, mostly just thinking out loud. Fish is good too, it just wasn’t what you craved today. Akagi lifted your intertwined hands to press a kiss to the back of yours before letting them fall back down between you.
“You know, we will have to make dinner together every day now,” he said, and it made you straighten up your shoulders. Right, you lived together now. Every time you remembered, your heart seemed to skip a beat to make space for him, because your heart was his heart and vice versa. “So we can have fish today…” he started, playfully hinting for you to finish his thought so that he would get his desired meal today.
“…and chicken next time,” you added, following his script even though you knew what he was doing. After picking you up from work, he deserved no less than exactly what he wanted, you suppose.
He did a small cheer, once again raising your connected hands to wave them around for a bit, making you laugh loudly and lean into his side. Part of you was embarrassed on behalf of the people passing by you, but the bigger part of you didn’t care. Screw it, let them see how lovestruck you are.
After dropping your stuff off at home and changing into more comfortable clothing, you walked back out the door together for some grocery shopping. You’d done this together before, of course, but now Akagi kept putting in random house stuff that you ‘definitely needed’ according to him.
You put a pizza cutter, which you already had two of at home but he swore this one was better, back on the shelf and then turned to him with a pointed look. “Baby, no more kitchen stuff unless it’s on our list, okay?” you said first, making him put his hands on his hips like he used to do while waiting on the volleyball court. “Stop standing like a pregnant lady and go get your freaking fish.”
He huffed and did a small pose before moving on to hopefully complete his mission. Meanwhile, you went on to complete the rest of your shopping list, thinking of what dish to make and getting the necessary elements. You were about to go to the line when your boyfriend rounded the corner and almost collided with your shopping cart. Your eyes zeroed in on what he had in his hand, which he noticed so he held up the brand new pan, which conveniently was in your favourite colour. “Come on, it’s perfect. You said we should get a new one because yours is so worn.”
It took some convincing, but finally, you agreed and laughed softly as he put it in the cart before moving to kiss your cheek, and then the two of you made your way to the till. You had a shared account for this stuff, so you swiped your card while he packed what you bought into bags, some reusable ones you had in your workbag and some plastic because there wasn’t enough space without crushing the vegetables or eggs.
You went back home, putting on some music as you both put away the groceries before starting to make dinner. “What fish did you get?”
The silence wasn’t loud, but there was enough time for you to slowly turn to your boyfriend with an accusing gaze. Your mind browsed through everything you put away in the fridge, not finding any image of fish filets.
“You did get the fish, right?”
Akagi pursed his lips and looked down, body shaking a bit as he tried to hold back his laughter. “I got distracted by the pots and pans.”
Oh, how lovely it will be to share moments like this with him every day.

"Tommy broke up with me"
At the bottom of the last sip of the beer that Buck took like five minutes to finish, he finally starts to speak.
Eddie's internal monologue was halfway between surprised and confused, sparing a minute to decide how to react in words.
"By the look on your face, this one seems more permanent" He said, remembering the last time Buck told him that Tommy ditched him. He somehow can't remember much of the details of this relationship past that night.
"Yeah, yeah. It probably is."
Buck's never looked so despondent after a failed relationship before. It nearly feels like physical pain.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
"No."
"Okay."
Eddie sipped his remaining beer, realising it's been a long time he had this one. It's a brand Buck loves and he used to stock it up on his grocery runs every once in a while. His fridge only has bare minimums now, with a six month old ice cream in the freezer he can't throw away. The hot priest really clocked him alright.
Buck hands him another bottle, putting him out of his trans.
"You wanna play video games?" The question brings back a memory threatening to tear him up, but he can take it if it means sailing buck through a bad day. When he looks at Buck though, he seems to be reminiscing the same thing.
"Yeah, sure. Please."
It's half past twelve when Buck starts to yawn, and Eddie takes the remote controls away despite his reluctance, whining like a child followed by some A+ puppy dog eyes. He's not sure if he picked it up from Chris, or vice versa.
"You know that doesn't work for Chris, and it's not gonna work for you either. You need to sleep, Buck. Your eyes are swollen enough as it is."
"Okayyy, fiiiine. I'll leave in a minute."
Eddie doesn't want him to go. He realises in the minute when Buck gets up to leave towards the door that he's missed Buck. With his head a little lighter of the guilt of hurting his child, he's able to see the retreating figure of buck more clearly. God, it has been six months and he can't remember the last he spent so much time with Buck. He was so consumed with the Christopher shaped hole in his heart, he could barely notice anything else.
"Buck, wait, you can stay over tonight. You're drunk, and it's late, and, well I would prefer not having to rush to your rescue at 2 in the night." He knows he's rambling, knows that Buck isn't really drunk enough given he could manage to play a game.
But Buck does not make any comments. Maybe he needs this as well.
He walks back to the bedroom to collect the 'buck' pillows from the closet (Christopher named them, specifically demanded to buy those after the shooting as he told Eddie how uncomfortably Buck used to sleep on the couch in those days.)
Eddie stops him in the way, takes the pillows from his hands and keeps them back on his bed. He's almost on auto pilot doing this, with no idea what to say.
"Eddie, it's fine. I can sleep on the couch. It's basically my fortress of solitude. Pretty sure it has a curve shaped by my butt."
"Not for six months, it has not."
Eddie does not know where that came from. Suddenly, the air is too thick, almost hard to breathe in. Buck looks back at him with a pain in his eyes that almost remind him of the Tsunami.
"I'm sorry. This is not the time. We will talk about it later. After the breakup has left your system."
"I'm sorry, Eddie. I-"
"I know. We will talk. Later. You can sleep in my bed today, before Christopher wakes up with his spidey senses in Texas asking me why I made his buck sleep on the shitty couch"
Buck smiles despite himself.
Eddie goes to refresh, changing into pajamas at last. Buck will use the gold material that is Eddie in undies later to its full potential. He gives Buck his own pair of nightwear, which he realises he left there long back. They both get into bed at last. Buck notices two photos on the bedstand.
One with Shannon Eddie and Christopher at the beach.
One with him, Eddie and Chris in front of a Christmas tree.
............................
It's 3 AM at night, and Buck isn't asleep. His brain is at a high drive, piling up with every small shit it can think of. And on the top of the pile is a newfounded guilt of abandoning Eddie and Christopher. And what for?
Eddie isn't asleep either. Truth be told, he barely sleeps these days, but it's not the usual -missinghisbeautifulchild- hours yet. Tonight he's plagued by different thoughts, trying to decide if he should acknowledge the almost evident radiative thinking of Buck just besides him. And then he hears a few muffled cries.
That gets him into motion.
He taps on bucks shoulder, the same shoulder he's held so many times over all the years they've known each other.
"Buck, hey," He tries to turn him to face towards himself.
"Ahh, sorry did I wake you up? I'm fine, I'm fine. Just not able to sleep." Buck says without turning.
"You don't have to pretend with me, Buck." There's an echo from three years back in Eddie's voice, one that seems to reach through to Buck. He's shaking a little now with his sobs, but still would not turn back.
Eddie decides to take matters into his own hands. He used to be a problem solver long back, almost another lifetime. There's not a lot of things he can fix anymore. But he knows how much it matters to be there for the people you love. The tiny patch of odd colour on his bedroom wall would tell you more.
He crosses the distance, and holds Buck from behind. His chin is a solid weight on Buck's shoulder. There's an almost tortuous moment of silence filled with only breathing sounds.
"You can cry. It's okay. I know everything else is not. But it will be. And even if it isn't okay right now, I am here. I will always be here. We are your home Buck, we will always be."
Eddie's voice is humming slowly through Buck's skin. He turns over and suddenly Eddie is being engulfed in six feet of the giant called Buck, who starts to weep in his arms.
Eddie strokes his hair slowly, murmuring sweet nothings. There are tear tracks drying on his own face he fails to notice. He's so pissed at Tommy. He doesn't even care what happened. He will take care of that tomorrow. But right now, he needs to comfort Buck.
With his heartbroken best friend in his arms, Eddie has a peaceful sleep for the first time in months, or even years. He can't really tell.
..............................
Buck wakes up with his feet tangled between Eddie's, Eddie's arm on his waist and their faces far too close than he can remember. He's vaguely aware that he should be panicking, should be embarrassed about something. But he's not. Buck stares at his best friend's face, notices it closely after a long time. He's disoriented from the lack of the moustache but starts to notice the dark circles, the almost evident lack of care and so, so much fatigue on his face. But still beautiful. Still Eddie. A word that should surprise Buck, but it doesn't.
He feels well rested, he feels at home. He's known this has been his home for a long time now. But something feels different.
He does not feel empty like he was almost twelve hours ago. He's aware that he hadn't fallen in love with Tommy yet, but it was hurting so bad just now. It doesn't hurt anymore. All the abandonment issues that came crashing down on him suddenly take a back seat. He looks at this man, who's carved out a chunk of his space, his life, his home just for Buck. He dare say his heart too, in the form of a will four years back. Buck doesn't think too hard on the why of it, couldn't even begin to wrap his head around that. He's never been brave enough.
But today, with the warmth of Eddie all over him, Buck knows why it does not hurt. Someone settled into this space in his life, his heart as well, long before Tommy came. Someone has been loving him long before he even realised he could be loved.
Eddie's had his back for seven years. Buck realises now, he also holds his heart.

Food shopping with Bucky
I love a little domesticity and sweetness so here’s a fluffy drabble on what it’d be like to do your grocery shopping with Bucky.
~ He’d often be overwhelmed by the sheer choice at the supermarket. In his day it was one type of everything, maybe two, not shelves and shelves of different brands and varieties. You’d find him in an aisle holding two near identical boxes of cereal in his hands, trying to figure out which one is better until you swoop in and help.
~ ‘You don’t need all this choice’ he’d grumble. ‘Nobody needs to decide between 8 different types of ketchup’.
~ You’d smile affectionately and take his arm. ‘Alright old man, simmer down’. He’d give you a warning look but then his face would crumple into a smile. You’re the only one who can talk like that to him and get away with it.
~ He never did his own grocery shopping as the Soldier because his handlers kept him fed, so it’s been a bit of a learning curve. But despite how overwhelming it can be he quite likes the experience: chatting to the workers, diligently following a list. Mostly he likes that he’s in control, he gets to choose exactly what he wants. You know having that autonomy is important to him, so you let him lead.
~ Food is becoming more enjoyable to him because of you. He used to only eat for fuel, for necessity, but now he has started enjoying eating and cooking because you’ve introduced him to the joys of food. He wanders off and you find him peering at the cooking sauces aisle while checking a new recipe on his phone, his brow furrowed in concentration. ‘Let’s try this one’ he tells you as he picks up the sauce. You nod encouragingly, ‘Sure, looks good’ you say smiling. He’s come a long way.
~ You stretch to reach something on the tallest shelf but can’t quite manage. Without missing a beat he grabs it with ease and hands it to you. Later on you go to pick up a heavy bag of charcoal for the BBQ and he tsks you scoldingly, grabbing the bag from you and slugging it effortlessly over his shoulder. ‘Doll…’ he sighs. ‘I’ve told you before to be careful’. He looks at you with a hint of annoyance, his stern face no match for how much he cares for you.
~ As you wait in line he diligently checks the cart to ensure you got everything you need, his metal fingers casually drawing a circle on your lower back as he double checks the list. It’s handwritten on paper of course, he much prefers that to the Notes app. He tells you striking each item off is more satisfying that way. ~ After you’ve paid, you’re delayed when he helps an elderly lady take her bags to her car, vaulting them all up into his arms at once as she stares on, bewildered by his strength.
~ You can’t help but steal a kiss as he returns, he kisses back but looks at you with confusion when you finally finish. ‘What was that for?’ he asks. ‘I just love you’ you smile. He smiles right back. ‘And I love you, Doll’.

₊˚.༄ gingerbread - seok matthew
yes i'm aware we're in march but i finally finished writing this so i'm posting it anyways !! i'm so delusional for this man it's becoming an actual problem i fear.
my inbox is empty so feel free to request !
↬matthew x gn!reader (reader is kind of implied to have long hair) ↬1688words ↬(self indulgent) fluff, oneshot, gyuvin cameo ↬tw: none just not proofread lol
christmas means the world to matthew. he's the force behind turning your shared apartment into a festive retreat, decorating every space and making sure you explore every christmas market around. for him, the holiday excitement is almost on par with his birthday. the fact that you both get to experience this special season together in your newly shared home adds an extra layer of significance to him. his excitement is infectious, and you find yourself enjoying the holiday season more than you did already.
as he stood in the store facing rows of gingerbread house kits, matthew couldn't make a decision without consulting you. he grabbed his phone and facetimed you, holding up different options for you to choose. as your boyfriend deliberated with you, gyuvin's voice joined the debate.
"oh my god please get the huge one!" he pleaded through the screen. you assumed he was referring to the sizable box at the bottom of the shelf, resembling more of a gingerbread mansion than a mere house. matthew's face lit up with his trademark open-bracket smile, both edges of his lips curving upward in response to gyuvin's suggestion.
"gyuvin, are you going to help out?" you teased, prompting laughter from both ends as matthew continued to examine the oversized gingerbread mansion kit - this was very serious to him.
"am i invited to your date?"
matthew playfully rolls his eyes at his antics, and so do you.
"nope, and we're sticking with the smaller kit, right, matt?" you playfully threatened your boyfriend, although there was a hint of truth into the teasing tone.
he reluctantly gave in, much to his best friend's disappointment. a few minutes later, your boyfriend is back home, arms filled with grocery bags and a huge shopping bag. you can easily figure out what happened after you hung up—matthew greeted you with a peck, his expression carrying a hint of guilt.
"did you go for the mansion?!" you exclaim, disbelief written all over your face as you gaze at your boyfriend. he responds with a sheepish smile, getting the box out of the bag, he starts unpacking the kit.
"yeah, i got a little carried away at the store, and gyuvin ended up talking me into picking this one," he confessed, his eyes locked onto the box, a touch of uncertainty on his face as he gauged your reaction to see if you were upset. of course, you weren't. your concern was more about whether it would live up to matthew's expectations.
"well, it does look cute!" you reassure, pointing at the small plastic christmas trees that accompany the kit. "i just hope we've got enough frosting to make it look as nice as it does on the box," you add, casting a thoughtful eye over the ingredients and decorations you neatly laid out on the table.
"i'll grab our aprons," matthew declares with determination, clapping his hands in excitement. he's referring to the matching sanrio aprons you purchased earlier that month – he opted for the cinamoroll one, and you for my melody.
as he heads towards the kitchen to fetch the aprons, you put on your shared christmas playlist and continue unpacking the kit. matthew returns, aprons in hand. without a word, he steps closer and lends a hand as you put yours on, and you do the same for him.
"can't get over how adorable these aprons are," matthew gushes as he admires you.
it's a shared quirk between you two – an irresistible impulse to snag anything cute, regardless of practicality, and especially if it means matching with each other. while your apartment is pretty organized and neat, it’s also full of little trinkets.
“we definitely need the pompompurin one too,"
matthew nods in agreement, all the while studying the instructions on the back of the box while you open the numbered bags with the different parts of the house.
with christmas songs softly playing in the background, you dive into the task at hand, the concentration evident on both your faces. as you work, matthew quietly sings along, his voice weaving a comforting melody that never fails to bring a smile to your face.
the ambient lighting from the elaborately adorned tree and flickering fireplace casts a warm glow, enveloping the room in a relaxing ambiance. when you get to the challenging stage of assembling the gingerbread structure with frosting, you start getting worried.
"i have no idea how to start building even after reading the instructions," he confesses, holding what's supposed to be the front of the building, uncertainty etched across his features.
you survey the gingerbread pieces and the frosting, treating it like a puzzle yet to be solved. with a reassuring smile, you join your boyfriend, taking a moment to strategize the best approach.
"well, let's start with the base. we can add on one corner and then assemble the sides step by step," you suggest, matthew is careful as he sets the base while you prep the frosting.
you're in the midst of carefully slathering frosting on the sides, taking your sweet time, but your hair keeps getting in the way. matthew catches on and, without missing a beat, grabs a hair tie from his wrist – he always has one handy for you. you feel a gentle touch as he gathers your hair and skillfully ties it back. a small, grateful smile creeps onto your face.
“thanks, angel," you express, grateful for the simplicity of his gesture. he grins at the pet name. he loves how pet names flow so easily out of your lips.
with your hair tied back, you dive back into the frosting mission. once you finish, matthew steps in, holding the panels in place while you apply frosting to bind them together.
"you're so good at this," matthew confesses, admiring your work as you skillfully spread the frosting without a smudge in sight.
"you sound surprised," you retort, shooting a glance at your boyfriend. it’s just too easy to tease him.
“maybe just a little impressed," he chuckles, nudging you as the gingerbread structure starts taking shape. “i was counting on you to make this look good, to be honest,” he adds, you roll your eyes, faking annoyance.
"well yeah, i figured i was gonna do all the hard work by myself,"
matthew does that little head tilt he does whenever you tease him, his lips forming a mix between a pout and a smile, earning another laugh from you.
"hey, i'm helping!"
you give him an intentionally reticent nod to tease him further. he acts offended, and before you can even realize what's happening, he takes the icing bag you put aside and smears a little bit of icing on your nose. you blink in surprise as the cool touch of icing graces your nose. matthew looks immensely pleased with his impromptu move, little giggles bubbling in his throat - you don’t think you could ever get tired of that airy laugh of his.
“oh, i see how it is… since you’re so skilled with the icing, i’ll let you take care of the rest, sound good?” you pretend to get up to leave. you just love entertaining the banter, especially when your boyfriend’s response is that adorable pout of his and puffed-up cheeks. the temptation to kiss him is strong, but the joy of teasing him prevails.
“you’re so mean?!” he responds in the most dramatic tone ever, holding your arm to stop you.
“i’ll call a truce if i get to decorate your face too,” you suggest innocently, a mischievous glint in your eyes. the blonde raises an eyebrow in curiosity as you scoop a dollop of whipped cream with your index finger. leaning in, your faces just inches apart, you delicately smear the cream on his nose and cheeks, your touch slow and deliberate, as if crafting a delicate masterpiece. you draw two little hearts on his cheeks, you smile to yourself while matthew tries to supress his quiet giggles to keep up the sulking act. he can't believe that such a gentle and simple touch can still turn him into putty in your hands - literally giggling and kicking his feet internally.
"oops," you feign innocence as your fingers graze the corner of his lips, spreading a bit of cream there too. "i guess i'll have to clean this up," you whisper before closing the distance between you two.
without much time for matthew to process the boldness of your move, you swiftly taste the sweetness on his soft lips. his muscular arm instinctively wraps around your waist, pulling you closer in an instant while your lips lead a perfect dance. The room is filled with the delightful sounds of giggles and the subtle rustle of clothes as your arms find their place, encircling his neck.
his fingers find the hem of your top and play with it – one of his many endearing habits. whether cuddling or engaged in more intimate moments, he can’t resist fidgeting with your clothes, hair, or tracing patterns on your skin with his fingertips.
matthew knew too exactly how to turn you into putty in his hands.
the care and gentleness with which he holds you is intoxicating and mirrors his approach to everything – from making you pancakes adorned with a smiley face of cream and berries, to the way he makes sure to always leave a little note on your mirror each morning or how he indulges in all of your interests and gets heavily invested in them.
you can feel him smiling against your lips before he breaks the kiss, his eyes filled with fondness as he gazes at your face. a light blush graces his cheeks and the tips of his ears, yet he wears a smug smile on his lips. how does he manage to be so adorable and flirty at the same time? it's a question that lingers in your mind, even after all this time dating. even though you show your affection to him every single day through small gestures, you're somehow still convinced he has no clue about the profound effect he has on you, how he has you swooning over the simplest things he does.
suddenly, all the boldness from earlier evaporates, and your cheeks heat up and you could swear that the warmth from the crackling fire is engulfing you. without thinking, you bury your face in the blonde's neck, seeking refuge in the warmth of his embrace.
“if you wanted to kiss me so bad you could’ve just said that from the get-go,” he teased, his voice light and playful. he can’t resist squeezing you gently in his arms at the sight of your cheek pressed on his shoulder.
you peek out from your cozy hiding spot, shooting him a mock glare. “don’t play with me right now, i’ll really leave you alone to build the whole thing,” you try to sound indignant but fail miserably, your heart eyes and sheepish smile clearly betraying you.
he chuckles while his fingers trace lazy circles on your back before planting a kiss on your temple. “you wouldn’t, you love me too much,” you respond by slightly hitting his chest.
"okay, maybe just a tiny bit too much," you admit with a playful eye-roll, “now get to work before i change my mind”

Someone older 2
Josh Kiska x f!reader
wc: 2.2k
Summary: Having a crush on your best friend's older brother is normal. It is just something about an older, “cool” teenager that appealed to you in your preteen years. Almost everyone experiences this, but is it still normal when he is 8 years older? Yes, your best friend, Sam, was older than you but he was like a brother and something about Josh was so intoxicating. The crush didn’t leave when he left for college, he stayed in the back of your mind throughout all of those years. Hell he plagued your mind through your last years of highschool and first of college. So what are you supposed to do when he moves in with Sam near the college you and he attended.
Minors DNI!!!
Warnings: female masturbation, that’s about it I think
For more info go to master post!
a/n: guyssssss I was hoping to get some good old sexual tension and spice into this chapter but it just got too long I had to cut it off. Sorry!!!!!
~~~~~~~
A couple days had passed since you found out Josh was moving in with Sam. You completed your regular schedule while also aiding Sam in prepping the apartment for Josh’s arrival. Two days. You had two days until Josh arrived, you could barely contain your excitement. Sam picked up on this and was feeling quite the opposite. “I don’t understand why you're so excited for this.” Sam said grumpily. Trying to play it off you just responded with a quick statement. “I just miss them so much and now I don't have to wait until Thanksgiving.” You gave a quick shrug and made work with the freshly washed sheets. “Well you're not the one that has to live with him.” He remarked. You rolled your eyes and finished up the guest bed. You could only imagine him resting here after a long day, his scent filling the room. You almost let a small whine slip from your lips at the thought of his welcoming cologne. After checking with Sam that he didn’t need your additional help, you promised to go grocery shopping with him tomorrow.
Heading back to your apartment you figured dinner could just be the leftover meal from yesterday. Watching it spin around in the microwave, you texted Josh.
You
Heard you're moving in with Sam, can’t wait to see you!
You’d hoped that wasn’t weird and he would just see it as a welcoming sentence. He soon replied and all thoughts of doubt washed away from you.
Josh
Can't wait to see you either sweetheart! Counting down the days.
Sweetheart. Josh had always called you that and it managed to weaken your knees just a little every time. The microwave beeping caught your attention and you pulled the food out with flushed cheeks. You have to get a hold of yourself before he gets here.
After dinner you took a quick shower and laid down in bed for the night. You were on your phone for a little before noticing the time and deciding you didn’t wanna feel like shit in the morning. Plugging your phone in and readjusting your shirt to sit more comfortably. Laying in the dark you shut your eyes and tried to allow sleep to take you. Your thoughts shifted around, from upcoming classes, dinner recipes, these past couple days with Sam and they halted when you got to Josh. It was inevitable, you thought about him most nights and they started innocent but you couldn't stop them from venturing. Soon you were thinking about his face buried between your legs, lapping at your clit with his tongue while his fingers worked inside of your pussy. You thought about the names he would call you and the noises he would make.
You then realized how worked up you were and you didn't notice your hand that had subconsciously drifted past the waistband of your sleep shorts. You opened your eyes and swiftly leaned over to your nightstand, finding the small object in the dark. You brought the vibrator over to yourself and yanked your shorts to your ankles. Pressing the button, it buzzed to life and as it teased between your lips you let out a deep exhale. A whine left your lips when you brought it higher, adding pressure where you needed it. Your thoughts swarming with Josh. Your hips ground up into the toy, adding to the sensation. You felt your eyes squeeze shut and brought your open hand up to play with your hardened nipples, giving both equal attention. Quiet moans left your lips and short sighs of his name followed. The burning sensation building up in your lower abdomen. Chasing the feeling you start to drag it up and down your clit with quick motions. You felt it nearing and with a ‘oh fuck Josh’ you came around the toy, legs slightly shaking and hips pressing down into the bed.
You slept peacefully that night, only slight regret with the noise you were making.
~
The next morning you got up out of bed and completed your normal routine, trying not to think about the extensive classes you had for the day. On the way to class you and Sam communicated what time would be best for groceries. “Well my last class ends around four. Oh and I'm staying after for a while to study in the library, so you don’t have to bring me home today.” He told you, looking out the front windshield. “Ok so when will you be done with that? I just don’t want to go too late.” You responded, looking over to glance at him. “Well me and her-” You cut him off before he could finish. “Her?! Sammy, do you have a girlfriend I don’t know about?” You questioned, not even caring for coming off as nosy. “No y/n! What the hell? We are just study buddies for a project.” He answered, but you didn’t miss his rosy cheeks as he looked down at his hands in his lap. “I’m just messing with you Sammy, I'm sure she's nice. So should we go around 5:15?” You asked, turning into the parking lot. “Sure that sounds good.” He gave you a quick hug goodbye as you parted ways.
~
After a few long hours you could go home and rest before grocery shopping. On your way out someone tapped your shoulder. You turned around to be met with a boy from your class, Brady. “Hey Brady, what do you need?” You said, concerned about what he could want. “Well I was just gonna ask for your number? If that’s okay, I think you're really pretty and would like to get to know you more.” His question caught you off guard, sure he is really charming but you had barely interacted with him before this. “Um sure here hand me your phone I can put it in.” You offered with a small smile. After typing in the digits you looked back up at him with a smile. He smiled back and waved goodbye with a ‘thanks’ and ‘see you later’.
In the car ride home you couldn’t stop thinking about what had just happened. You couldn’t stop yourself as you compared him to Josh. It was something that occurred often when you had previous boyfriends in highschool, even with your ex that you had dated for two and half years. You were in love with him and everything he did but always found yourself thinking things like, ‘Josh wouldn't say that’ or ‘I wonder what Josh would do right now’. That boy was your first love (besides Josh….) and he was the boy you lost your virginity to. You were heartbroken when you both decided being apart for college was the best thing to do. And it didn’t help how josh was there to pick up the pieces of your heart and work to put them back together. Of course the others helped you through it too but Josh put in extra effort, like texting you everyday after and allowing you to rant to him about your feelings. You don’t think Josh liked the guy very much, almost being passive aggressive when they would be in the same room together. In fact he was like that with every guy you had dated, you always put it off as he was just protecting you like an older brother would.
Once you got home you jumped on your bed and opened your phone to instagram, deciding that was the best use of your time, which it probably isn’t but what else could you do. It wasn’t like you had homework for both of tomorrow's classes sitting on your desk, which you did. After going through some stories you came across Sam’s, it was a picture of the table he and his ‘study buddy’ were sitting at. The papers and laptops scattered in almost an unnatural way, perfect for a photo. You tapped through and came across Josh’s. It had the text reading ‘Moving day!’ with a photo of the moving truck packed up. You almost tapped past it until you noticed two people on either side of the truck, recognizing Jake immediately your eyes moved to the other person. It was a short cute brunette girl with a chunky sweater and jean skirt on. She was beautiful, you could see the rosiness of her cheeks and the cute bow tied in the back of her half-up, half-down hairstyle. A pit of jealousy opened in your body, you instantly started questioning, ‘is she with josh?’, ‘could she just be a friend?’ and ‘maybe with jake.’ You decided instagram could be closed for now, not wanting to give yourself even more anxiety about your feelings towards him.
You heard a knock and sat up to go answer. Opening the door you saw Sam, guess he forgot about his key. But how could you forget you had to go get groceries? “Oh sorry I totally forgot, let me go get my shoes!” You said frantically moving back into the house to get your sneakers. “Oh I actually came to tell you something else, but yeah we got to go do that.” He said nonchalantly. You looked up at him in curiosity as you tied the laces. “Well what is the other thing you were gonna tell me?” He met your eyes with a defeated look, “Well seems like Josh is getting in a little early, he should be here at about 8 tonight.” He said. You were sure there was a physical sparkle in your eyes once you processed this information. “Oh that’s great Sammy! We better go get food now then.” You finished, standing up to get your purse from the back of the dining room chair.
In the car Sam continued, “I don’t know why he couldn’t just stay one more night! He wasn’t supposed to be fully packed until tomorrow.” He rubbed between his eyes as he said this. “Hey you know you can stay at mine if at any point you get overwhelmed or annoyed.” You reassured him. He looked up with a smile and nodded in thanks.
Once done with groceries, you checked out and loaded them into the car. Noticing you still had about two hours until Josh arrived you made the offer of going out to eat tonight. Sam agreed and that’s how you ended up in Flower Child, a place you both liked. Cutting into your grilled salmon you continued the Josh conversation, big surprise. “Not to be rude but why does him moving in with you bother you so much? I Mean you basically did it your whole life.” You added. “That’s exactly my point y/n, I did it my whole life and I love him but I appreciate living on my own.” He responded, allowing you to realize where he is coming from, you didn’t know when you would be ready to live with another person. “I'm here with you Sam, all of the way, mi casa su casa.” You try to throw in a joke to try and cheer him up and are glad when it does. He let out a small giggle and moved to throw away your trash.
Back at the apartment you hugged Sam goodbye and gave him some more words of support. You decided it would be best to leave Josh to move in and you would talk to him in the morning since you had no classes. You knew you needed to head to bed early since you had a semi-late night yesterday…..
After getting ready for bed you laid and went to turn on your show to help you to bed. You watched for a little and a text came through your phone. It was sam.
Sammy
He’s here y/n, if you want to come say hi
You barely had control of your body as you sprung out of bed and grabbed your keys. Opening the door you saw him and Sam talking in the hallway with a box at their feet. You couldn't stop yourself as you ran towards him. “Josh!” you yelled not caring for the neighbors at this moment. You ran and jumped into his arms, legs wrapping around his waist and arms around his shoulders as his strong arms held around your back. “Hey peach! How are you? I’ve missed you like crazy.” His admission made your heart thump widely in your chest. You pulled your face from his neck to look at his eyes, “I’ve been good. I missed you too!” You said with a grin. One of his hands drifted to your ass to push you back up as you started slipping. You dropped your legs from around him and the areas he touched you burned as you turned to look at Sam. His expression is much less excited than yours.
You had spent the night catching up with Josh and just asking for stories about his life. The conversation continued until Sam’s phone made the bedtime noise and you three realized it was now 11. Cleaning up whatever mess you guys had made, you made your way out the door and gave both boys a tight hug, but not forgetting a kiss on Josh’s cheek as it was something you guys shared at and departure. In your own bed you couldn’t contain your excitement for what the next few months would hold.
Tag list:
idek but if anyone wants to join, the list is open for future fics
Trigger warnings:
none, unless you are allergic to love and cuteness
Gender:
idk if i mentioned it.
Story Below the cut!
“You’re going to be okay, right?” You asked your assistant photographer over the phone.
“Yeah! It’s just a little walking pneumonia.” They said, chuckling.
The chuckle turned into a cough and that did nothing to make you feel better about the situation. In fact, it made your nerves worse because you were thinking about the upcoming weddings you booked together.
“Hey, y/n?” Spencer walks through the front door, carrying a handful of groceries along his arms.
“Yeah, okay. Sure. Just get better, okay?” You said, getting off the phone.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know you were on the phone.” Spencer said, gingerly walking through the apartment.
Stepping around your gear, you watched as spencer moved through the apartment like an angel who could do no wrong. Because in your mind, he could do no wrong.
“It’s okay. I was just getting off the phone with Josh anyway.” You said, slipping the phone in your back pocket.
“You’re about to leave and meet him at the wedding, right?” Spencer said as he moved around the kitchen.
Spencer put away the milk in the fridge, something you forgot to pick up when you went to the store to grab batteries that morning. You were pacing in the living room, trying to make sure you had everything packed for the 4th time.
“Well… I’m supposed to, yes, but I might have to pick up my sister because I need a second shooter for today.” You sighed.
“What happened to that guy?” Spencer said, closing the cabinet door as he put away a few dishes you washed and left to dry.
“Josh.” You chuckle, knowing Spencer was always a little bit jealous of him. You smiled to yourself and sat on the couch.
Nothing ever happened between you and Josh. He was a guy you went to high school with and then reconnected and started photographing weddings together for the past year. It was easy to shoot with him because it wasn’t like having to watch over someone to make sure they’re doing their job right.
“Yes, what happened to him?” Spencer asked, walking over to where you were putting away your cameras on the couch.
“Walking pneumonia.” You sighed, pausing to look at him.
“I knew his cough was a little bit funny.” Spencer smiled to himself about being right but tried not to show it because Josh was still your friend.
“I’m out of a second photographer for today.” You said, groaning.
“Can I help?” Spencer said, pulling you into him for a moment.
He knew when you were stressed, you needed him to ground you so you didn’t lose all of your marbles at once. A few at a time? Sure. But he was there to make it as few as possible.
“Unless you know your way around a camera, no.” You sighed.
It took a moment for it to click in your brain before you shout up, standing up.
“Spencer, you dummy, I love you.” You said, watching his eyes scan your face in understanding.
“I didn’t say anything.” Spencer remarked.
You finished packing with a smile on your face. You figured it out and it wasn’t a bad idea. That is… If he was up for it.
“You’re going to ask me to be your assistant today, aren’t you?” Spencer finally caught on.
“You know me so well, Spence.” Finally packed, you put the bags by the door and looked at the time.
Perfect. Enough time to spend a few minutes with Spencer getting him caught up.
“Will you?” You asked, sitting next to him on the couch.
“If it means I get to eat some of the cake, sure.” Spencer smiled as he thought about all the other weddings that you brought home wedding cake and how good it was.
“I’ll get you a slice and I’ll give you my slice as bonus.” You said, a smile growing on your face at the solved problem.
—
Spencer had no clue what he was doing and it made him nervous so he did something he rarely did:
He Googled “How to be a wedding photographer.”
You took care of the driving, telling him about all of the amazing photos you want to get and how the wedding will progress. You told him about your high school connection to the couple and how this was the perfect time for him to work with you because there was no pressure. You were excited to let your high school family meet the love of your life. Then you quickly returned to how excited you were to show him how to shoot the wedding as a professional photographer.
“Do you want me to do anything special?” Spencer asked, getting distracted from finding the next article because he was so in love with how you talked about your job.
After seeing the horrors of the world, he gets to come home to you editing photos of people having their times of their lives with the loves of their lives. The most he could wish was to have those moments with you one day but he hasn’t had the courage to say it yet. every time he tried to bring it up, the intrusive thoughts returned, telling him you wouldn’t want to marry a nervous wreck like him. They didn’t even know how he was going to handle the wedding. So many people… So many germs… How had he never thought about this before. Maybe-
“I’ve dreamed about this moment so many times…” You said, bringing his curiosity back into this moment in the car as you pulled into a parking spot.
“Hmm?” Spencer said.
He always tried to hide those thoughts when they started to invade his mind but you could always tell. He knew because you would grab his hand and gently squeeze a few times to make sure he knew he wasn’t alone in his head.
“I don’t know… I see these instagram couples that are like… ‘shooting a wedding with my boyfriend today.’ And I always wanted that…” You said, smiling at him.
“Oh…” Spencer said, slightly blushing. “I’m glad I could contribute my existence to making your aspirations a reality.”
“I love you too, Spencer.” You chuckled, knowing he didn’t really know what to say.
—
The two of you went on through the wedding day, photographing the moments as you would with Spencer trying to copy some of the things he memorized on the Google searches. When he showed you images, you almost cried every time but he was always trying to figure out why. They weeren’t the most stunning images but you looked at them like you hadn’t seen anything better in your life. It was a weird feeling for him to see consistently.
It was time for the ceremony, where his instructions were to take photos throughout the ceremony of family members, guests, wedding party, things like that. He watched the reactions as the bride walked down the aisle and it hit his heart like Miley Cyrus riding the wrecking ball: He didn’t want to be the guy taking photos. He didn’t want to be the one who was in the crowd, like so many weddings before him. He didn’t want to officiate and talk about love.
He wanted to show you how much he loved you and only you. He wanted to be the one at the alter as you walked down, his eyes welling with tears while Morgan claps his hand on Spencer’s shoulder before going, “you did good, kid.”
Spencer wanted to marry you. In that moment, there was no question about it.
—
“Would you have a big guest list?” Spencer said, standing in line for dinner with you.
As wedding photographers, you always had to negotiate eating at the same time as the married couple because you needed to be ready for when they were ready. You didn’t need spencer for the reception so he was on “content duty,” which was much harder to him.
“Whut?” You said, putting a slice of salad in your mouth as soon as you sat down.
You had a tendency of scarfing down everything too quickly at the wedding so you could be ready.
“Our wedding. Would you like a big guest list?” Spencer sat down across from you at the table.
“Spencer-” You almost choked on your salad.
“I was thinking…” Spencer started, tapping his leg as people passed his chair.
It put him on edge to not be able to see everyone but he was focused on you so his world was a lot more focused.
“What if we got married? A nice venue, our friends and family, a honeymoon to follow?” Spencer was nervous because you looked confused, not excited.
“Where did this come from?” You said, sipping some of the tea.
“Meeting the bride, your friend, the groom, and everyone… How many people do you think find their soulmate? So early in life…” He was trying to make sense of this whole thing for months.
“Spencer.” You said, pulling your chair closer to him. “Are you okay?”
You put your hand on his forehead before sliding it down to his cheek.
“I love you. More than I have ever loved anyone or anything. I love you more than the stars love the light of the moon. And I never want to be without you. If you asked, I would quit my job and take wedding photos all the time.” Spencer said, still trying to assess your response.
“Spencer, what are you… Are you saying you want to spend more time with me? I can switch my schedule around, if so. I can edit at different times or…” You looked hopeful but you didn’t know how to really respond.
“I want to marry you.” Spencer said, getting drowned out by the sounds of the emcee announcing cake cutting.
“You want what?” You asked, distracted by the announcement.
“Have a wedding.” Spencer said, once again drowned out by the announcer.
You whipped your head around to the sound of chairs scooting back from the table, across the wood.
Cake cutting was the last event in the night and you were scheduled to leave right after.
“I’ll tell you in the car.” Spencer said, starting to help you pack up things up before going to the car.
—
“What were you saying?” You asked Spencer, nearly skipping to the car with all of the ideas you came up with through the car. It was exhausting but you were excited to edit them in a couple days, when you recovered.
“Do you want to get married?” He asked, putting the bags in the trunk of the car.
“Yeah, one day…” You sighed, putting in your bags before closing the trunk.
“Okay.” Spencer said, looking down at you.
“Okay?” You looked at Spencer with a puzzled look.
“Oh. Do you want to get married… To me?” Spencer said, nervous at the thought and hoping this was okay.
“Yeah… One day.” You smiled, finally catching on.
Spencer took a step back and got down on one knee.
“I don’t have a ring…” Spencer patted his pockets.
“I don’t have my nails painted or hands lotioned or anything. Take my as I am?” You asked, chuckling.
“Only if you take me home to bed, where I can hold you and think about our wedding obsessively…” Spencer took your hand in his and kissed it before standing and pulling you into one of your favorite hugs: a spencer hug.
The Price of Christmas Connections
Day 8 of 12 Days of Ficmas
Pairing: Dalton Lambert x reader
Summary: You knock on Dalton's door and offer him some Christmas cookies, and when he offers to pay, you gladly accept.
Warnings: so much fluff; I think I forgot how to write for Dalton.
Word Count: 0.9k+ words (sorry it's short, I liked the idea but couldn't figure out how to make it longer then got too busy to try)
A/N: Like I said in the warnings, I need to watch The Red Door again bc I feel like I'm not writing Dalton as well as I used to, but I have finals this week so this is the best I can do for now. I may revisit this next week and rewrite it if anyone is interested, but for now enjoy some fluff (which Dalton very much deserves after the semester he's had)!
The best part of JPU, in your opinion, is that your last class of the week is across from the art building. Better, is that you get to see the guy you wish you knew. You know his name because his friend yells it whenever she is around. But that is all you know about Dalton. Though you want to know more.
Dalton watches for you when he leaves Professor Armagan’s class, wondering what it would be like if he dared to introduce himself. You’ve waved at Dalton a few times, and he’s awkwardly returned it or pretended not to see you. Every time Dalton walks back to his dorm, feeling disappointed, ashamed, and prepared to get yelled at by Chris.
When December begins, you can’t help but imagine how different the holiday season would be if you could talk to Dalton, get to know him… fall in love with him. The last idea hits you out of nowhere, but you mean it. The rest of the students at JPU seem disinterested in the time of year, with no sign of the Christmas spirit anywhere to be seen. Deciding that something needs to be done, you pull on an invisible Santa hat and set out to bring the spirit of Christmas to JPU until everyone goes home for Christmas.
You pile all of the homemade decorated cookies (and some undecorated, in case someone doesn’t like icing) onto a Christmas platter you picked up from the nearby grocery store. After dressing up with a Mrs. Claus dress pulled over your warmest leggings and a long-sleeve thermal shirt, you leave your apartment and walk to the nearest dorm building. Nearly everyone on the first floor accepts at least one cookie. By the time you reach the third floor, you’re preparing to return to your apartment to refill the platter. As you knock on a door, you count the cookies and decide to offer the last three to whoever is in the dorm. The door opens, and you smile, hoping to spread a little light. You see Dalton on the other side of the door, and your smile grows.
“Hi,” you greet. “I’m handing out Christmas cookies, could I interest you in one? Or three?”
Dalton’s jaw drops nearly imperceptibly as he looks between you and the platter.
“I’ve been watching you, I wanted to meet,” he blurts out. His eyes widen as he rushes to correct, “I mean- not like stalker-watching you, I just know when you have class and I wait until I see you when you leave. No, that’s not better, um-”
You laugh, shifting the platter so you can lay a hand on his arm. “It’s okay. I’ve been wanting to meet you too,” you admit.
Dalton nods, unmoving because you’re at his dorm and touching him. His mind races, forming plenty of things to say, but nothing comes out.
“So, do you want a cookie?” you repeat.
“Oh, yes, please. You- you can come in, if you want, since you said you wanted to meet me.” Dalton cringes as he finishes, whispering an apology.
“Sure,” you agree, entering his dorm.
You set the cookies on a clear corner of his desk, walking to the edge of his bed to inspect the art on his wall. Each piece tells a different story and you feel like you know Dalton more after each picture.
“Are you selling the cookies, or? I mean, I’ll pay for them if you are,” Dalton says, watching you look at his pictures.
He notices your eyes light up as you turn to him and say, “No, I’m not selling them, just handing them out. I’ll accept payment anyway, though.”
Dalton’s brows furrow as his arms drop. You realize you confused him with the conflicting information, so you decide to show him instead. Grabbing his sweatshirt, you pull him to you, kissing him as payment for the cookies, for allowing you to come in and get to know each other, and most importantly, and the opportunity to fall in love with him.
When you pull away from him, breaking the kiss, his eyes remain closed as he mumbles, “That works.”
“I’m glad we finally met,” you tell him.
“Me too.”
“There’s still cookies over there.”
Dalton rolls his eyes and smiles before leaning in to kiss you again.
✯✯✯✯✯
After turning in your last test, marking the official beginning of Christmas break, you run to the art building and wait for Dalton to finish his final presentation for Professor Armagan’s class. When the door opens, you perk up, standing on your toes to watch for Dalton.
“Dalton!” you yell, waving at him when he appears.
He smiles, rushing down the stairs and pulling you into his arms as he asks how your final went.
“Cookie girl!” several people yell, hooting and pointing at you. “Be my Mrs. Claus!” one of them requests.
“My cookie girl,” Dalton says shyly, looking into your eyes as his arms tighten around you.
“Your cookie girl,” you agree, boldly kissing him in front of all the students.
The previously interested guys boo playfully as they continue walking, and you hear Dalton’s friend yell his name in surprise. You pull back, turning into Dalton’s shoulder before facing her.
“This is Chris,” Dalton introduces you. “Chris, this is my cookie girl.”
You roll your eyes at Dalton as you shake Chris’s hand.
“Oh my gosh, my roommate saved me one of your cookies; they were so good!” she gushes.
“Best priced cookies I’ve ever gotten,” Dalton says as he wraps his arms around your waist and pulls you against him.
Because of a few cookies, you went from staring longingly across campus to see each other to running into his arms. They’re the best-priced cookies you’ve ever had, too.
Still With You | A Jeon Jungkook Series Chapter Two
Summary: Jungkook comes over and makes dinner for a very sleepy Luna Pairing: Luna (reader) x Jungkook and Jimin, f2l love triangle Word Count: 5.9k~ Warnings: No real warning since I don't wanna spoil it 🤭 Start from the beginning
Trudging down the hall I punch in the access code and open the door to my apartment. I take my shoes off, set my stuff down, throw myself on my bed and scream into my pillow letting out all of the pent up anger and frustration I'm left with as a result of my shift today.
I flip over onto my back after letting out a heavy sigh and stare up at the ceiling, "There's no way there are that many stupid fucking people in this city" I say aloud. From drunks, pda obsessed teenagers, to perverts and really anything in between that can be labeled as a nuisance, I've dealt with. And that just in one day.
"I really need to get a new job" I huff rubbing my eyes, not minding the fact that I still have makeup on and sit up. Letting out another sigh I walk over to the kitchen to start making dinner. Or more like a late night snack at this point since it's already midnight. I still can't believe uncle made me stay this late, I guess it's just further punishment for being late today.
Looking inside my fridge I see that I have absolutely nothing to eat, "Great". I should've just picked something up at the store before I came home but I was too tired to even think about staying there another second. Picking up my phone to figure out what stores might be open at this hour I end up being interrupted by a FaceTime call.
"Hey Kook" I mumble, "Hey! What's wrong?" he asks, going from his smiling face to a concerned one. "Nothing really, just tired is all. I was thinking about walking over to the corner store near me to grab something for dinner real quick since I forgot to go grocery shopping the other day." I admit.
"This late? No, you stay home I'm coming over" he says getting up to grab his stuff. "No it's fine don't worry I'll figure something out" I say touched by his offer but feeling guilty at the same time. "Nope I don't care I'm coming over, any special requests?" he asks, picking the phone back up after putting his jacket on.
"You can pick" I say, happy at the thought of spending some time together. "Okay, can I spend the night?" he questions looking around his room for what I can only assume is his wallet.
"Do you even have to ask?" I chuckle, shaking my head. "I'm just checking" he laughs "I'll be there soon okay?". "Thank you, you're a lifesaver!" I breath out, feeling bless to have someone like him in my life. "Anything for you" he says and quickly ends the call. Smiling at his sentiment I turn my phone off and start getting ready for bed, it's just him so I don't feel the need to get dressed in anything other than comfortable clothes.
I decide to take a quick shower as well to hopefully get rid of all the tension and irritation I still have built up in my body from all of the madness today. Luckily tomorrow I have the day off so I don't have to worry about going back there until the weekend. Although I'm working long shifts, at least I get to hang out with Jungkook again later on.
I hear the door to my apartment open and close signaling his arrival, "Luna?" he calls out, trying to find me. "I'm in the shower, I'll be out in a sec" I yell hoping he can hear me over the running water. "Okay" he shouts back. I rush to finish up and walk out while still drying my hair with a towel, the atmosphere feeling so much lighter with him around.
"You really didn't have to do this for me" I say walking over to him. "It's okay I wanted to, plus you looked tired so I didn't want you to have to worry about going out" he responds, bringing me in for a hug. He lets go after a while and nods towards the bathroom.
"But I wanna eat first" I say pouting. "I don't care, go dry your hair. It's cold and I don't want you to be shivering all night because you're 'too lazy' to do it after we eat. Plus, I just brought some soup so it'll be easy to reheat. Now go!" he says raising his voice a bit at the end in an authoritative but playful manner. I roll my eyes and make my way back into the bathroom to do as he says not without protest again.
By the time I'm finished he has everything set out, ready and waiting for me. I look up at him in astonishment realizing he actually bought all the ingredients to make the soup and not just take out.
"What's this? I thought you were just gonna pick up something quick, you didn't have to do all of this" I say, looking over all that he's brought. "I wanted to get you a few more things as well so it just seemed easier to do it this way" he says putting in the final ingredients and cutting the heat.
He brings the pot over to the table and makes sure to place a hot plate underneath before setting it down and then stands back up looking over at my shocked expression with an amused smile.
"So are you gonna sit down or what?" he teases. I roll my eyes as a result and sit down, him following after grabbing a bottle of soju. I glance up at him surprised yet again, "Looked like you needed it" he says, yet again amused with my reaction. "You know me so well" I say smiling back at him.
After we finish eating we move over to the couch and he decides to get down to business, "Okay what's wrong?" I look up at him confused as to where this is coming from. "What do you mean?" I question, genuinely confused. "You just look like you're hiding something. Like you're more on edge these days" he explains.
The fact that he can clock these things about me before I even start to realize it is sometimes scary. Looking back I seem to realize that there has been a lot on my mind lately.
"If there's something you need help with or if you want someone to talk to you know I'm here right?" he reassures me.
"I didn't really realize that something might be wrong until you just mentioned it. I guess I've been subconsciously avoiding it" I start trying to sort through the many things that might be contributing to my change in demeanor. "And what would that be?" he questions, encouraging me to continue.
"I would say mainly money. I've been thinking about getting a new job or even just working two jobs because of how expensive things are with me living on my own. I'm already tired as is so juggling two job is just too much to think about let alone actually go through with. Just when I think I'm getting ahead and feeling like I could survive off of one, something goes wrong" I say verbally processing it all.
"What's been going wrong? Is it your brother?" he questions, placing his hand on top of my knee. "No he's fine. Well, he's stable for the moment so that's all I could ask for right now. It's just, I don't know, I'm starting to slack off at work these days and I've been showing up late almost every other day and the only reason I still have this job is because my uncle is the owner" I say, hating that I have to admit this to him.
"I just can't find the motivation to get up and get out of bed most days. Even when I do wake up on time I'm still dragging my feet until I'm out the door. Then as soon as I step outside the panic starts to settle in and I'm stressing trying to get there on time, knowing damn well I'll be late anyways" I continue and take a deep breath before continuing.
"When I finally get there I'm anxious so it makes it difficult to focus and then I get in trouble on top of that and, I don't know. It's just been really difficult for me to stay afloat in all aspects of my life if I'm being honest" I let out.
He pulls me closer and rests my head on his chest and I wrap my arms around his torso. "That's a lot. Do you how long you've been feeling like this?" he asks while rubbing my back, keeping his emotions level in an effort to keep me calm.
"I guess I just never had the time to really stop and think about it. I mean I would've told you sooner but we've both got our own lives and struggles that we have to deal with. I don't have as many opportunities to spend time with you so when I do, I don't want to put a damper on the mood. I wanna have fun when we're together so it would make me feel selfish if I was to take away from that" I say feeling sad at the realization.
"We made a promise to not grow apart and still be there for one another remember? We promised to tell each other everything" he argues. I pull away a bit to look up at him "But that was when we were kids and we practically saw each other everyday. We had plenty of time together so I didn't feel bad telling you when I was sad or stressed or angry or anything because it would almost feel weird not to" I explain.
"I don't care about any of that" he says leaning towards me to brush a strand of hair behind my ear. "All I care about is you. You're my best friend and I want to be there for you, especially in those moments when you need someone to lean on. It's okay to ask for help, you don't have to be so strong all the time. Sometimes you need to feel weak and I want to be that person you can come to when you feel like that" he says cupping my face.
I close my eyes and lean into his touch, I start to feel tears welling up in my eyes so I go back to resting my head on his chest in an effort to hide them. "Thank you" I say, "For what?" he laughs. "For being my best friend. I just, I don't know what I'd do without you" I say bringing myself closer to him.
"I don't know what I would do without you either. I need you to tell me when you're feeling like this okay?" he urges, "Okay" I agree, nodding into his chest. "Promise?" he says holding up his pinky finger. "Promise" I say as I wrap mine around his.
"So what do you wanna do now?" I ask standing up and going to grab some more soju in an effort to break the ice and change the subject. "I don't mind, I'm here for you so whatever you wanna do is fine by me" he says.
"Norebang?" I say with a smile on my face. "Norebang" he says smiling back. We spend the rest of the night singing, dancing and drinking in my apartment, helping me escape from reality for just a little bit. When I'm with him, it just feels like the rest of the world just fades away, like nothing else matters. It's just me and him against the world.
Once the last song plays we decide to sit down and take a breather while I start scouring the list to find the next one. "Luna" he says trying to get my attention. "Hm" is all I say in response still too focused on the task at hand. "I'm really glad I came" he admits while looking towards me with a fond smile. "Me too" I say mirroring his sentiment, taking my eyes off the screen.
While I'm still looking over at him I can't help but see his eyes dart down to look at my lips and in turn I decide to glance down at his as well not knowing what kind of urge this might spark in him. He scoots closer to me and I can't help but widen my eyes in response.
He settles next to me and I start to feel my heart rate pick up. He leans in and I shut my eyes, anxious as to what might happen but all I feel next is the remote being snatched out of my hand. I open my eyes realizing what just happened and reach out to take it back.
"Hey! You said that I could pick the next song" I protest leaning up against him trying to grab it back as he stretches his arm out, making the remote out of my reach. "I changed my mind" he teases laughing at my effort. I in turn end up climbing onto his lap still trying to reach for the remote not really paying attention to what I'm doing and just focusing on my goal.
Then in a blink of an eye I find my back against the couch and Jungkook hovering over me. I can't help but feel confused with what his motive might be. "What are you doing?" I say feeling breathless. He looks down at me with a strong resolve and a mixed set of emotions hiding in his expression but I can't quite tell what it is.
I let my eyes wander, admiring each of his features. His rounded slightly hooded eyes, his strong brows, furrowed to match his intense gaze, his eyebrow piercing that he got over the summer, I never really liked them on guys but for some reason I can't help but think that it suits him well.
Wandering down from there I take a second to glance at his scar which although he hates I can't help but adore since it's something that he's had since I met him and I wouldn't want to change a single thing about him.
Ultimately my eyes wander and settle on his soft cupids bow, he hates how small his top lip looks but I think it's adorable and balances out with his full bottom lip but I tease him about it anyways and I end with staring at his lip rings for a second. Realizing moments later that we've been in this position for a while, I feel dumbfounded, not really know what to say or if I should say anything.
I glance up finally making eye contact with him again after taking in the view from his close proximity and I continue to let my question linger.
"Can I kiss you?" he asks barely above a whisper. "I- what" I say feeling surprised by the request. "I said, can I kiss you?" he chuckles, repeating his question. "Why would you want to kiss me?" I question back. "I don't know, I just want to kiss you" he says settling on that explanation and not really wanting to elaborate on the subject further.
I hesitate for a moment still not fully understanding how this happening and seeing my hesitation he backs off, giving me space to breathe, "It's okay just, just forget I said anything".
Regaining a bit more awareness as to what just happened I sit up with a still perplexed expression and prod further. "No Jungkook why did you do that?" I say determined to get an answer. "I just, I don't know I've just been thinking about kissing you for a while and I wanted to see if you would let me" he says, looking down at his hands. Looking almost too embarrassed to meet my gaze.
"But I'm your best friend, why would you wanna kiss me?" I say still not satisfied with his explanation. "Haven't you ever been curious about what it might be like to kiss me?" he questions finally looking up at me. "I-" I start not really knowing how to answer.
"It's okay you don't have to answer that" he says backing off the subject. "Well-" I start off after a period of silence. I can see his interest peek a bit hearing that I don't necessarily want to drop the subject.
"It's just we're best friends right? So best friends shouldn't think about each other that way" I can see him start to wilt a bit, excitement starting to dwindle. "But I would be lying if I said I haven't thought about it before..." I say letting my voice get softer with each word.
"So, would it be okay if I kiss you?" he questions trying to test the waters again. "But what would that mean for us?" I question not wanting to have a misunderstanding after the fact. "It doesn't necessarily have to mean anything. Unless you want it to" he finishes letting his voice trail off at the end.
My heart starts beating faster and I feel apprehensive, still not sure if it's a good idea. One kiss won't hurt though, right? I think about it for a few more seconds before I respond "One kiss?". "One kiss" he responds. I then nod my head in approval and wait for him to make the next move. It was his idea so I want to see how he goes about carrying it out.
He turns towards me and studies my face making sure that I'm still okay with it. Once he sees that I haven't tried to back away he brings his hand up to cup the side of my face. I freeze a bit at the contact not really realizing the fact that this action is far more intimate than I had initially thought as he had done it so many times before.
He takes his time and caresses my face looking at me with a kind of love that goes far beyond friendship. It scares me but at the same time I can't bring myself to look away. He looks down at my lips again seeing that I am unconsciously biting them, a habit of mine that he has grown to love.
Leaning in he stops right before our noses touch and places his thumb on my bottom lip coaxing me to let it go and pushes his thumb between them in an effort to keep them apart. "Keep your mouth open for me okay?" he says in a deep tone that I have never heard from him before and I can't help but widen my eyes in shock at his request which in turn makes me widen my mouth even more. "Perfect" is all he says before placing his lips on mine.
It starts out slow and sweet, he feels how tense I am and takes that into account, leading the kiss and easing me into it. I unconsciously bring my hand up and place it on his chest trying to ground myself and I loosen up with every movement of our lips.
He decides to deepen the kiss and I can feel him start to incorporate his tongue. I decided to let him do just that curious, as to what it might feel like. The kiss has been gentle so far so I can't help but want to see where it goes seeing that he wants more.
He uses his tongue for a while and I can feel him retreat a bit almost coaxing me to use mine as well. I in turn follow his silent request and I get a new set of butterflies settling in my stomach. It takes a turn and gets a bit more intense when he guides me down into our previous position.
Tilting his head to the side he gets a bit more needy, wanting to switch up the pace. I start to feel a bit breathless and push back on his chest a bit to get his attention. He pull away and looks down at me in a questioning manner. "One kiss" is all I say and I can see him feel a bit disappointed but ultimately responds "One kiss". He sits up and I follow him and scoot back creating a bit more distance between us.
After catching our breath for a bit I start to speak. "That was..." I say trailing off, not really knowing what to say. "Yeah" is all he says in response. He suddenly stands up and mumbles that he's going to the bathroom and gives me no time to respond before he goes through my bedroom and into the bathroom.
I let out a breath that I didn't realize I was holding the second he closes the door. 'What was that? Why- why did I let him kiss me? Why did I let him kiss me like that? He said one kiss so why did I let it continue?' All of these questions start circling my brain but I push away the ones that would tell me all the emotions it had brought on. Taking a few deep breaths I try to calm myself down and bring my heart rate back to normal.
He spends quite a while in there before I hear the toilet flush and the sink turn on. Once he comes out I notice how red and swollen his lips have become. Even his small upper lip seems a bit bigger now. Did I really kiss him that hard? Coming and sitting on the couch next to me he doesn't make an effort to say anything. We sit there for a second and I don't really know what to do now or where to go from here.
"Do you wanna watch a movie?" he asks while grabbing the remote. "A movie sounds great" I rush to respond. "Okay great" he says turning on a movie that we've both seen before. Luckily he picked an action movie without any romance. I don't think watching anything to do with romance would be a smart decision right now. If anything, it would just make this whole situation seem even more awkward.
Feeling myself start to doze off a bit as the movie progresses I can't help but fall into the habit of resting my head on his lap. Once I do I feel myself start to drift off disregarding the suspenseful nature of the current scene and surrendering to the feeling.
I feel his legs tense up a bit at first contact but ultimately relaxes again after a second or two. He brings his hand up and starts tentatively running his fingers through my hair, ultimately coaxing me into a deeper slumber.
~~~~~~
As I watch Luna slowly fall asleep I can't help but feel glad at the fact that even though we might've seemed awkward after the kiss it seems like she still wants to go back to being normal. Seeing her fall into her habit of falling asleep in my lap just proves that fact. I can't help but feel a bit disappointed at that fact but I don't want to try and force anything on her.
Placing my arm around her back and the other under her knees I pick her up and carry her over to her bed and in the process she takes a hold of my shirt and shifts closer to me in an effort to steady herself while still half asleep making me smile.
Once I place her down on the bed I still feel her strong grip on my shirt and as I go to place my hand on hers to encourage her to let go I hear her mumble "Stay with me" in her cute sleepy voice. I can't help but smile at her neediness "Always" is all I say in response knowing that she probably can't hear me but doing so all the same. I place my hand on hers and the warmth of my palm makes her loosen up a bit so I have a chance to release her hold on me.
I look at her once again admiring her from the close proximity and decide to place a featherlight kiss on her forehead. She stirs a bit in her sleep and flips over onto her side in an effort to make herself more comfortable. I laugh at her stubbornness, grabbing my clothes and heading into to the bathroom to get ready for bed.
Once I'm done I slip into bed next to her and do my best not to wake her. She ends up sensing my presence in her unconscious state all the same and rests her head on my chest and wraps her arm around my torso. Laughing at her I shake my head and bring her closer to me. "Goodnight Luna" is all I say before slowly drifting off to sleep.
Waking up the next morning I realize Luna has already gotten up and I can smell the sent of bacon and egg which coaxes me out of bed. Doing my best to stay quiet I sneak up on her and wrap my arms around her waist like I always do. I hear her take in a sharp breath as her reaction to my sudden presence.
"Good Morning" I say in her ear looking over her shoulder to see what she's doing. "Um good morning, breakfast is almost ready if you want to set the table" she says clearing her throat at the end. "Sure" is all I say in response before kissing her temple and going to do as she said.
Once everything is ready and on the table we sit down and start eating. "So what's the occasion?" I ask trying to get her attention. She's been pretty silent since I came out and I can't help but feel a bit worried.
"What do you mean? There's no special occasion" I raise my brow at her response and nod towards all the food she made. "Oh well I mean it's been a while since I made an American breakfast and you happened to bring all the ingredients so I figured I might as well make it for a change. Plus you made dinner last night so I thought it would only be fair if I-" "Luna everything looks great. Thank you" I say cutting off her incessant nervous rambling. She's cute when she gets nervous but I'll show her some mercy for right now.
"So what are your plans for today?" I ask while taking a bite of the waffles she made. "Oh nothing so far, I really haven't given it a lot of thought. This week has been pretty hectic as is so I figured I would just stay home. Do you have any plans today?" she asks reciprocating my interest.
"I think some guys from my school wanted to meet up for drinks tonight or something like that. You should come! I've been meaning to introduce you to them for a while now but we just never had the chance" I say hoping she'll take me up on my offer.
"I don't know Kook, I'm not really in the social kind of mood" I deflate a bit at her downright rejection but I understand she's been under a lot of stress lately. "Okay are you sure? I don't want you staying home alone and feeling sad all day" I say feeling a bit concerned.
"I won't be sad all day don't worry. You coming over has put me in a good mood so don't worry. I've just got some stuff to take care of here at the house and I wanted to have a self care kind of day" she responds and I can see that she needs it based off of how exhausted she seems despite just waking up.
"Okay, I believe you. Just be sure to call me if you want me to come back. I really don't mind bailing on them if you need me" I say reassuring her. Seeing how close to tears she was last night and how she's acting this morning has got me worried. I might be overreacting but I just want to make sure she'll be okay and that things won't get bad again.
"I should probably get going then so you can get started on that. I forgot I have an assignment due on Monday anyways so should probably get that out of the way before I go out tonight. Do you want me to help you clean up?" I question letting her know I have time to help her out.
"No it's okay don't worry about it. I'll be cleaning all day so I don't mind doing this as well" she declines, granting me a genuine smile. "Alright well I'm gonna go get cleaned up and then I'll head out. Do you mind if I take a shower?" I question getting up and putting my plate and cup on the counter as well as placing the juice back in the fridge.
"Yeah go ahead. You don't have to ask me stuff like that anymore Kook, my house is your house" she says laughing at me. "Hey just because you're my best friend doesn't mean that I can't be polite" I say ruffling her hair even though I know she hates it. "Tell that to Grey" she says while fixing her disheveled state. I laugh at her while walking over to her room to take that quick shower that I had mentioned before I go.
~~~~~~
While Jungkook is in the shower I let out a deep sigh and start cleaning up. I know I'm acting weird and I know he notices it but I'm just not sure how I should act after that kiss. I feel like it was more than just a kiss to him and I don't really know what to do with that information.
After doing the dishes I head over to my room to get changed but then remember that Jungkook's still washing up. I decide to sit in the living room and wait for him to finish, taking a break from all the work I did this morning.
I look up once he opens the door and my breath catches in my throat at the sight of him shirtless with wet hair. I've seen him like that countess times before but I can't help but feel flustered this morning.
"Luna" he calls out for me. "Huh? What?" I say snapping myself back into reality. "I asked if I could borrow your hair dryer" he says with an amused smile on his face. "Oh uh yeah it's in the cabinet under the sink" I say looking away, embarrassed that he caught me low key checking him out. "Thanks" he responds with a slight chuckle at the end before going back into the bathroom and closing the door.
"Luna wake up wake up wake up! This Jungkook we're talking about okay, stop it!" I say aloud, careful to keep it quiet enough so he won't be able to hear. I shake my head trying to get rid of the image of Jungkook shirtless and just when I think I've managed to erase it for the time being he comes out without a shirt on again.
"Hey I forgot to grab an extra shirt before I came here. Do you have one here that I could use?" he questions knowing that I steal his clothes half the time. I can't help it okay? He dresses well and we have similar styles, luckily he doesn't seem to mind it too much though.
"Yeah there's probably something in the closet" I say, looking at my phone so I don't betray myself by gawking at him again. He nods and heads over and finds his grey 'Flare Up' shirt and slips it over his head. My eyes betray me and I end up checking him out from the back watching his tiny waist disappear under the baggy shirt. Man I would kill to have a figure like that man.
"Alright I'm gonna head out, call me if you need me okay?" he says reiterating his offers from earlier. I get up to walk him out, helping him grab whatever else he might've forgotten on the way there. "Okay I will" I respond with a soft smile. "And if you change your mind the offer still stands for coming out with us tonight, just let me know and I'll come get you".
"Alright alright get going" I joke, "Don't you have an assignment to work on?" he looks puzzled for a second and then remembers the conversation we had earlier. "Yes I do! Thanks for reminding me. What would I do without you?" he says giving me a hug before bending down to put his shoes on. "Be bored and miserable?" I question laughing.
"You're probably right, but at least I wouldn't have as many headaches" he says teasing me and booping me on the nose for good measure. "Hey!" I say pouting at his teasing. "Just kidding, all the headaches in the world are worth it if I get to keep you" he says wrapping me in a big embrace again before turning to grab the handle. "Thanks?" I question confused at whether I should take that as a compliment or not.
He laughs at my dumbfounded appearance and shouts a "Love you loser" while walking down the hall "See ya weirdo" I respond, laughing at his constant carefree nature. "What am I gonna do with this man?" is all I can say to myself as I feel another swirl of emotions building up inside of me.
It’s been a long week and your boyfriend, Simon Blackquill, needs you.
Your boyfriend had burst through the apartment door with a groan. Distractedly muttering grievances to himself, he neglected to see your resting figure on the couch and headed straight toward your shared room. While Friday evenings were usually scheduled for just the two of you, he had been tasked to stay late and finish up some particularly demanding casework today.
Thrilled to finally spoil your lover after such a grueling week, you quietly lift yourself off the sofa and make your way to the bedroom. The door’s hinges quietly squeak as you push the door fully open and rest your hand on the knob. The slightest smirk creeps up your face. “Hey, baby. Rough day?”
Simon’s eyes light up as he turns to you, like a switch is flipped. “Darling…” Having only taken off his coat and shoes, he stands hip cocked, tie askew. It’s a view somewhere between professional and casual that only you get to see. And it’s such a gorgeous view. He continues as you stare. “I did not see you in the living room.” With a hungry look of his own, he rolls up the sleeves of his white dress shirt, drawing your attention to his hands and arms. He takes one step forward, his eyes somehow focusing even more on you. “I assumed you to still be out picking up groceries.” You don’t even let him finish. Eagerly you move alongside him, grabbing his arm and dragging you both onto the bed.
With a huff you’ve pulled the large man on top of you, much to his surprise but even more to his delight. You respond intending to tease him slightly, “I got home a few hours ago! In fact I was waiting so very patiently for the most handsome man to come through the do—“ He’s staring at your lips and letting you speak until he can’t take it anymore. He interrupts you mid-taunt, and his lips feverishly meet yours, while your arms gladly wrap around his neck.
Almost begrudgingly, his mouth pulls away from yours. “You see, my patience has grown too thin, my love.” He can’t bear to move any farther away from you than this. Already your legs are tangled, breath fanning each other’s faces with hands running through hair. You search his face at this response—you want to see the fire in his eyes. But he greedily buries his face in your neck and grinds against you with pure desire. He leans toward your ear. “I need you. Please.”
You’d do anything for him in this moment. Now he’s biting and panting down your neck, and you can barely get your sentence out between moans. “Ah, Simon, tell me what you want, baby. Hhh-Anything for my good boy.” You feel him press his dick against you even harder, and your own wants are growing more difficult to ignore by the second. Managing to untangle himself from you for a brief moment, he unzips his pants and positions himself against the headboard, short of breath already. “My cock.. please.”
He watches you slink out of your shirt, and for a moment you’re still. His eyes are soaking in every inch of you as you then lick your lips and speak. “Simon…” You’re on your hands and knees now. “What do you want me to do to it? Tell me what you need.”
He takes a deep breath attempting to steady himself. “Your perfect mouth engulfing my cock. I need your warmth around me… I—I need you to devour me, my dove. Please. I beg.” He can barely get out the last words, he’s already so worked up.
You crawl towards him, slowly pulling down his briefs with your teeth. He hisses and slams his head back with probably too much force, but it’s an excited reflex. On your knees, you reach and feel up his sides while you arch your back, savoring his moans. Scraping your nails down his torso, you can’t wait any longer, and you lick from the base of his shaft to the tip, eliciting a drawn-out whine from your boyfriend. Caressing his balls with one hand, you slowly wrap your other around the base of his shaft and begin lightly kissing the tip of his cock.
His gaze could burn a hole through you, he wouldn’t dare take his eyes off this gorgeous sight. He carefully runs a hand through your hair and you lean into his touch. “I think you should—“ You kiss his hand. “—take what you need.” His face somehow turns paler, and his cock twitches in your hand. “A—ah..don’t hesitate to double tap, my love.” Your eyes are uncharacteristically blown out, and you throw a pillow onto the floor, clamboring down as quickly as possible. You can’t move or get the words out quick enough. “Of course—now please, Simon!”
The look on your face mixed with your desperate pleas gives him an intoxicating feeling of desire. You catch a glimpse of a sly, proud smile as he repositions himself. As he grabs a fistful of your hair, you excitedly grab at his hips and take him into your mouth. The weight of him on your tongue makes you dig your nails into his skin. Hesitantly he begins thrusting into you, checking your face, but that only turns him on more. Your half-lidded eyes, and dripping mouth are heavenly. His pace quickens and force grows, as you happily let him use your mouth as he needs. The mixture of slopping, wet noise with Simon’s ever-growing whimpering has you trying to grind against the empty air, you’re so desperate.
It’s almost too difficult physically to take him like this, but it feels so good, you don’t care how ruined your face and throat are right now. Moaning around his cock is too much for him. “God. Oh, fuck me. Ah..ah.. going to come..” Your tongue swirls around him, making sure to focus on his sensitive tip, as you forcefully help guide his hips in and out of your mouth at a rhythmic pace. With an ungodly cry and snap of his hips, you feel him release down your throat. The taste is delicious, only for you, and just makes you want more of him.
With a lick you remove his cock from your mouth, your face beautifully stained and hair completely disheveled. Simon is still staring down at you, just more relaxed and certainly more out of breath. He pulls you up for a kiss and whispers in your ear, “Now, my darling, tell me what it is you need.”
When you come to, you are laying in a bed, an overhead light shines glaring harshly in your eyes. You blink blearily, trying to get used to the brightness of the room and getting your vision to focus.
Movement catches your attention at the foot of your bed. You see Lia moving around the room, picking up your dirty clothes to do the laundry because you always forget to put them away, humming under her breath as she works.
Saturday was always laundry day.
After you got out of bed, you would be the one to take out the trash and go shopping for any groceries you needed. By the time you’d get back, Lia would have already finished with lunch.
You’d watch a movie or two, maybe play a game if you could convince your roommate, and order take out for dinner.
Right about now, she would tsk her tongue and throw a dirty shirt at you, telling you that you need to start cleaning up for yourself. You’d roll your eyes fondly and promise to be neater. Lia would accept it even though she doesn’t believe you and the process would be repeated all over again the next week.
You wait for the shirt to hit your face. It never comes.
Instead, the illusion is shattered when your eyes finally focus on the person you saw and see that their back is way too broad to be your friend’s and that, looking around curiously, this was not your apartment.
Everything comes rushing back then.
The game. The killers. Lia.
You’re laying down comfortably but you feel dizzy. Raising a hand to your head, you feel cotten where your temple should be and find that pressure causes a sharp sting to shoot up to your forehead. You let out a low curse at the pain and the other person finally takes notice of you.
He moves to your side, relief written on his face. “Oh, you’re awake, thank God.” You try to place the boy in your memory but draw a blank. “You passed out sometime between the lake and here and didn’t wake up for half an hour. I was starting to get worried.”
Yeonjun, your brain supplies when all the recent events catch up to you.
Now that you could see his face illuminated properly, pretty seems like an understatement. His dark hair is pushed back, revealing his forehead and you didn’t think that could be attractive, but here you are.
Yeonjun is still watching you. You clear your throat. “Um, thanks. For helping me.”
“You’re welcome,” he says smiling. “You looked like you needed it.” You suppress a scoff. If only he knew. “How many fingers am I holding up?”
His sudden question snaps you back. He has his hand up in your direct line of vision. “What?”
“I’m checking if you have a concussion. I dressed your wounds as best I could with zero first aid training but I need to make sure you won’t pass out again on me.”
His fingers are really pretty. You blink. “Oh. Three.”
Yeonjun smiles, satisfied. “Okay. Good, that’s good.”
He walks around the bed and disappears behind through a door. You use this opportunity to look around the room Yeonjun put you in, not finding it familiar at all.
Knowing that it is not far from Soobin’s lake house, you think that this house must be on the same level of extravagance, or at least close to it, but this room gives no indication of that. It’s smaller than the bedroom you were going to spend the night in before but still larger than the one in your apartment.
There is indications of use around; a t-shirt hanging on the back of a chair; shoes spilling out of the closet; and the faint smell of cologne lingers in the air. It all seems so boy that the only conclusion you draw is that this is Yeonjun’s room.
The boy in your returns with a glass of water that you accept gratefully. You hadn’t realised how thirsty you were until you downed the drink in seemingly one gulp. Yeonjun watches amusedly as you wipe your mouth with the back of your hand and you feel your face heat.
“Where are we?” You ask, holding the glass in your hands.
Yeonjun looks around the room in thought, humming. “About ten minutes away from where I found you.”
“Do you live here?”
“Nah,” he denies easily, taking a seat ay the foot of the bed, being careful to avoid touching your legs, “I’m just house sitting. The family that lives here is away at their other vacation house. In Japan.”
At your stunned look (you’re pretty sure that your mouth is open wide), Yeonjun nods hugely. “I know. Rich people, am I right?”
You scoff. “You could say that.”
It goes quiet. Yeonjun watches you curiously, his heavy gaze makes you avert your eyes to the glass in your hold. You clear your throat. “Aren’t you going to ask me what happened?”
He winces. “Can I?”
You shrug, feigning nonchalance, before launching into your recount of the night’s events. You watch his face as it goes from curious to shocked before finally settling on what is a mixture of disbelief and disgust.
Which, sums it up pretty nicely.
“That’s…Fuck, I-I don’t even know what to say. Who would do that?”
It feels oddly reassuring hearing this surprise from someone who has zero knowledge of the fucked up party you were just at. You inhale sharply. “Don’t know yet. But I’m gonna find out.” And you were. You couldn’t sit here forever.
“And the rest of your friends? You said you think they’re…” Dead. The word hangs between the two of you, too scared to be spoken aloud for fear they might be true.
“Well,” you start decisively, “they might not be.” With that, you swing your legs over the side of the bed, holding back a cry at the pain that erupts from the sudden movement.
Yeonjun’s hands shoot out to steady you, eyebrows creased with worry. “Woah! What are you doing?”
“I’m fine,” you grit out, pushing off the taller boy.
“You’re quite literally not. You might not have a concussion but fuck, Y/N, you’ve been stabbed. You can’t go out there. You need rest.”
Continuing out of the bedroom, you find yourself in an enormous foyer, almost as grand as the Choi family’s. “I need to make sure my friends are okay. I need to make those bastards pay.”
Your path is blocked by a very tall wall standing in your way. You roll your eyes, knowing that he used the fact that he doesn’t need to limp to pass you. “And how exactly do you plan on doing that?” Yeonjun stands defiantly, arms crossed and displeasure clear in the hard set of his jaw. You are getting quite sick of boys telling you no.
You stop in your tracks, thinking.
Then, “Do you have any knives?”
2 HOURS LEFT
The trek up the hill is hard with your injuries and takes longer than it should have had you been in full strength. The ground is soft beneath your feet, gives way every few feet and you have to readjust yourself carefully to avoid slipping.
A knife, so graciously given to you by Yeonjun, is hidden under your shirt. You walk in a way that it won’t accidentally nick your side. It feels awkward but it works.
Nearing the house, light spills out into the night, the grand chandelier still on. It is jarring almost, how the trees go from being cloaked in darkness to being bathed in bright light.
The front door is deserted.
You feel the warmth from the fireplace rather than see it, noting how it is still on, despite everything. That someone was stoking it.
You enter cautiously. Hand hovering over where the knife is, you stalk your way back into the kitchen and the sight of your altercation with the seeker leaves a sour taste in your mouth. The kettle remains strewn across the floor, a puddle of water mixed with blood spilled across the wooden floor.
Heart hammering loudly in your chest, you approach the door to the wine cellar, hand clutched to your waist. You know there is a possibility that the seeker could be there, could jump out and surprise you at any moment, but now that you have your own weapon to defend yourself, you wouldn’t let that fear stop you from finding Lia.
A crash.
Your head whips around frantically at the sound. Straining your ears, you listen carefully for any indication of where the noise came from. Quietly, you duck behind the kitchen island into a crawl. The knife nicks digs into your stomach but you ignore it, focusing on controlling your breathing so as to not bring attention to your location.
There is a slam as something collapses against the ground.
“Get away from me!”
Your heart stutters.
Soobin.
The sound of heavy footsteps gets louder with every passing second as someone walks closer to your hiding spot. Peaking your head around the side of the island, you try to get a glimpse of who it is, but the wall of the kitchen obscures your view. Clenching your teeth, you steel yourself to take the risk and reveal yourself to see who it is.
Slowly moving from your crouched position, you rise to your feet and are greeted by the back of the boy you have liked for two years, the boy who went through all this trouble just to try and create a night you’d enjoy.
“Soobin.” Your voice cracks around his name. Tears well in your eyes and threaten to spill.
He turns and your heart soars. “Y/N?” Relief washes over his features as he takes you in. He barely gives you time to respond before he crosses over to you and engulfs you in a massive hug.
Immediately, your shoulders relax and all the tension in your body melts away when his arms wrap around you. “Oh my god, Y/N, I’m so glad you’re okay. I was so worried, you just disappeared and I couldnʼt find and there was blood everywhere I, I thought—”
Pulling back slightly, you press a gentle hand to his face to stop his rambling. “I’m okay, I’m okay.” His eyes search yours and he nods numbly, bringing a hand to cover yours.
Soobin laughs mirthlessly. “Some game night, huh?”
Your chuckle comes out wet. “Not exactly what I had in mind, no.” You chance a look over his shoulder, expecting to see one of the seekers pop out and ruin the moment. Focusing your gaze back on Soobin, you graze your eyes over his face, going through a mental checklist of injuries. There’s a cut above his eye and dried blood crusts his cheek. Aside from that and a split lip, he’s fine. You exhale in relief. “They didn’t get you,” you breathe, more of a statement than a question.
He’s in front of you, face beneath your fingers, real and alive.
Soobin nods once. “They tried to, but I got away in time.”
“That’s good. Have you seen Beomgyu? Lia?”
“No, I’m sorry,” he admits solemnly and you feel your heart constrict. That doesn’t mean anything, you remind yourself, stopping yourself from thinking the worst. He must read your mind because his eyes rove over your face and he kisses his teeth. “Y/N…” he warns carefully, but your mind is up.
You tell him as much, but he’s still against it. “You don’t have to do anything, Y/N. The doors are open–we could leave! Get out of here right now.”
While what he is saying sounds appealing, there is nothing more that you want than to get as far away from this house as possible, you couldn’t—wouldn’t—do that without your friends. “I came back here because I couldnʼt leave you guys. I found you and I’m not leaving until I find the others. I’m not leaving without them.”
There is a possibility that you are in over your head. That even if you did manage to get past the seekers, the chances of you finding your friends alive was slim. You know that’s what Soobin is thinking, that he’s just trying to be rational. You expect him to argue, but instead he just sighs. Glances up at the ceiling. Locks eyes with you again.
“Okay.” Even though he agrees, you can tell he’s still apprehensive. “But I’m going with you.”
You nod, offering him a grateful smile that he returns. Your mind flits through the faces of the other people who were at the party, a drop in your stomach when you remember all the people who died. “What about the others? Yunho and Wooyoung?”
At the mention of their names, Soobin’s eyes darken and his jaw sets.
Cocking your head to the side, you ask, “What is it?”
It takes him a moment to respond, a myriad of emotions passing on his face as he considers whether to tell you whatever it is or not. He comes to a decision when he inhales sharply and pinches the bridge of his nose. You watch him curiously. “They…fuck. They’re the seekers, Y/N.”
You blink owlishly. “What?” you question, barely above a whisper. There’s no way. It can’t be. You saw them, you, you played with them, you might have even gone as far to say you could have become friends. They couldn’t have…
But Soobin’s mouth is set in a hard line and suddenly the room seems too small. “But how could they…in the screening room, they were with you. How could they…?” You can’t get the question out but Soobin understands anyway.
His face softens as she shakes his head. “They joined us later, before I found you. And then, after you left, so did Yunho. He came back as the seeker and killed Jongho right in front of us, and we all ran. I saw Sumin’s body at the top of the stairs and I was just attacked. It’s them. They’re behind all of this.”
You feel sick. Bile creeps up your throat and threatens to spill out, but you swallow it down.
Shutting your eyes tight, you exhale shakily. It didn’t matter. It didn’t change the fact that your best friend was missing.
Squaring your shoulders back, you lock eyes with Soobin.
“I’m getting Lia back. And those bastards are gonna pay.”
His eyes widen in shock at your concoction but he recovers quickly. Nodding once, he grabs one of your hands and leads you out to the living room where the couches have been turned over and the coffee table lies on the carpeted floor in pieces, splinters of wood littering the ground.
You chance a glance at Soobin. He really put up a fight, huh?
“How are your parents going to feel about you trashing their house?” you ask, going for a joke.
He responds with a cheeky grin. “Great, if I never tell them. I’m sure I can convince them to spend a couple winters in Jeju and they’ll be none the wiser.”
Whether or not he’s kidding, you can’t tell. The thought of his family owning yet another holiday home—in Jeju no less—is…strange. You think that if you try to comprehend just how rich Soobin is, steam would start coming out of your head. You personally had never travelled further than the places you’ve lived, let alone had houses purely for the purpose of visiting during specific seasons.
But this must be normal for him as he doesn’t even bat an eyelash. Okay. Cool. You’re just going to assume that Soobin has a house in every major city of Korea at this point.
The two of you barely make it past the staircase, past Isa’s lifeless body that has since turned a ghostly pale yellow, when a voice yells from behind you, thick with malice and so raspy it sounds as though it ripped through their throat, “Soobin!”
Simultaneously, you and the boy in question’s heads turn, hands still clasped together, and come face to face with the seekers. Masks still donned with the same cloak they’ve been wearing all night, you wonder who is who.
One of them steps towards the two of you, and you surprise yourself by planting your feet firmly in place. “Soobin,” he says and with a chill down your spine, you find that it is, in fact, Yunho, his voice familiar to you after all this time. Why he’s decided to ditch the voice modulator, you don’t know. Your eyes narrow.
Next to him, Wooyoung practically seethes. Closing the distance between you, he stalks over, knife brandished like a sword, crying, “We’re going to fucking kill you—!”
BANG!
Wooyoung stops in his tracks. His head drops to the center of his chest where you notice a pool of red spilling through the cloak and spreading outward. At the same time he drops the floor to his knees, you turn to look at Soobin. With a gun in his hands.
ONE HOUR LEFT
Soobin gives you a sidelong glance out of the corner of his eye. “Make them pay, right?”
You swallow, your heart hammering wildly in your chest. Right? That is what you said, this is what you wanted, but—fuck. He has a gun? Has he had one this entire time? He knows how to fire one? The knife pressed against your stomach burns against your skin.
Soobin doesn’t acknowledge your apparent discomfort, he doesn’t even look at you. Instead he watches Wooyoung clutch his chest desperately, blood seeping through his fingers. Watches Yunho rush to his friend’s side, distressed as he yanks off the mask from his face. Watches as his friend’s name falls from his lips in between a string of “no, no, no, no”s that sound something between a plea and a prayer.
He watches all of this impassively. His face barely twitches. He looks almost bored.
In the past night you have seen more people die and be killed than you would care to count, and yet, seeing the boy you’ve cared about for years put a bullet in someone so easily, without so much as a flinch, makes something ugly curl in your stomach.
Revenge is what you wanted, but something about this feels wrong.
Yunho crouches over Wooyoung and removes his friend’s face, brushing the shorter boy’s hair away from his forehead. “You’re okay, you’re okay, you’re okay,” he repeats, a mantra as he rips off a piece of his cloak to press against the wound, over the sound of Wooyoung’s laboured wheezing. He turns to glare at the both of you, something heady and full of hatred. “What is wrong with you?” he cries out, voice thick with anguish.
You find yourself wanting to defend yourself, to tell him that you didn’t do anything, that you never knew Soobin would do that. But you stop when you remember that they hurt your friends, they hurt you; you have the wound on your your leg to prove it and—
Oh, god.
You’re going to be sick.
Masks thrown to the side on the bloodied floor, you can see their faces clearly. Soft light rises from outside as the sun makes its ascent over the horizon—Has it really been that long since this fucked up game started?—and casts a glow across their features. Their unmarred features.
You slammed a kettle of boiling across one of their seeker’s faces; you burned him. And yet, here they stand, skin as smooth as a baby.
Eyes blown wide, you exhale shakily, “It’s not them.”
“What are you talking about?” Soobin asks through a scoff. You take a step away from him, hands trembling at your side at your revelation.
“I-I hit one of them. Neither of them have any scars or anything. It’s not them. Soobin, they’re innocent.” He looks at you for the first time since firing his gun, one that is calculated, like he’s assessing you, and has his jaw clenching. He’s never looked at you like this before.
From the ground, Wooyoung laughs mirthlessly through gritted teeth, catching your attention. Blood spittles from his mouth and you wince. “You think this fucker doesn’t know that?”
Yunho nods in Soobin’s direction. “He’s the one who knocked us out and put us in these clothes to frame us and forced us to pretend to be seekers. He threatened to hurt that Beom—”
With a tired sigh, Soobin rolls his eyes and aims his gun at the two boys. “This is tedious.”
Two shots.
One through Yunho’s head and another to Wooyoung’s chest, right where his heart is.
The shots rings out in the expansive living room, reverberating in your ears. You think you flinch, but you can’t be sure. Not with how your body feels as though it’s been doused with cement. You can’t move.
“What the fuck, what the fuck, what the fuck?”
Your mind was spinning. Soobin just shot two people. Two innocent people. Two innocent people who just accused him of—oh, god, you can’t keep the bile down anymore.
You heave.
“Oh, don’t tell me you believe them. Those guys?” Soobin asks disbelievingly, waving the gun around like it’s like a toy and not a weapon that just killed two people.
“You shot them,” you say, arms shaking at your sides.
“Yeah. After they killed my friends.”
“I just told you they didn’t!” Your voice cracks around the last syllable and Soobin’s face softens. He takes a step towards you, arm reaching out for you, but you step back, putting as much distance between the two of you. “Don’t touch me.”
He tries to stop you by saying, “Hey, don’t be like that,” but you just shake your head, trying to wrap your head around the last few minutes, but you find that you can’t. Nothing makes sense.
Nothing about the boy you liked being a gun carrying murderer makes sense. Nothing about the weekend that was supposed to be a fun time with your friends turning into a bloodbath made sense. The whole situation was making your head and you were so tired.
You just wanted to leave and go home to your tiny apartment with your best friend and watch a movie and complain about your classes over beer. You wish Soobin never planned this stupid party in the first place.
Your heart stutters in your chest.
I planned this whole thing for you.
The room tilts, like the world has been shifted on its axis. Moments from the night start slotting together like puzzle pieces in your mind as you recall the way Soobin wanted you to hide together at beginning of the game, how he just so happened to find you after Sunghoon was killed, how even though he claims to have gotten into a fight with the seekers, he barely has a scratch on him.
How he killed Wooyoung and Yunho despite you telling him they weren’t the seekers.
That ugly thing in the pit of your stomach grows and spreads throughout your body wraps itself around your throat.
Tears prick your eyes, sick and disbelief clawing up your throat. “You…” The words lodge themselves under your tongue.
Soobin’s face morphs just then.
Gone is the look of boyish care you have grown so familiar with, that you have fallen in love with, and is overtaken by a smug, snakelike grin. The sight chills you.
He claps. Actually applauds as he looks at you with something akin to pride. “God, you’re so smart. I knew you’d get it, you know? I always believed in you,” he admits, awe lacing his voice. Checking his watch, he whistles. “And with forty-seven minutes to spare! Wow. Your intelligence is one of the things I like about you, you know?”
What the fuck was happening right now? Was he confessing to you? Right now?
“What the fuck is wrong with you? You were fucking timing me? Why the fuck would you do that?”
“For you, obviously.” He says it matter-of-factly and it gives you pause. “You know,” he starts, walking around the base of the stairs with the air of someone giving a seminar, “when I told the guys that I knew you’d figure it out, they didn’t believe me. I said ‘That Y/N? She’s smart, she loves riddles. She’ll put two and two together.’. But they were adamant that the stress of the situation would be too much for you to handle and you wouldn’t be able to think clearly, blah blah blah. Psych majors. You know how they are.” He says it like the two of you are in on a joke together.
You want to wring his neck.
“And I guess they were right, kind of, but you pulled through in the end. Just like I knew you would.” Soobin flashes you a smile that before tonight, would have left your knees weak, but now the sight just makes you angry.
The fact that he thinks you should be flattered that he apparently thinks highly of your deduction skills in a situation he orchestrated that ended with so many people dead makes you sick. He bet on you.
With the seekers, you think abruptly. It has to be.
Your mind works quickly, trying to figure out who they really are and you gasp at your revelation.
His smile widens and you have half a mind to punch it right off. “I think introductions are in order, don’t you?”
As though summoned, two dark figures walk towards the both of you from a secret door in the walls of the living room. The seekers. One of them pushes someone along roughly—Beomgyu, your brain supplies—, a knife pressed against his throat.
A wave of relief washes over you as you lock eyes. “Y/N,” he exhales, breathlessly, eyes raking over your body. “You’re okay.”
“So are you,” you nod, voice dripping with relief, then you wince. “All things considered.”
He chuckles at that. “I suppose it could be worse.”
“Shut up,” the seeker holding Beomgyu snaps, the same voice modulator that has been tormenting you for six hours crackles.
The other one regards you lowly, through the black eye holes of the mask they don. “Y/N!” they announce dramatically, but Soobin raises a hand to stop them.
“You can ditch the voice now, guys. She figured it out.”
“God dammit!” they curse, ripping the mask off in an angry huff. “I can never have any fun around here.”
Finally, the identities of the people who have made your night a living hell is revealed to you. The boys standing in front of you are two you have only seen in pictures, heard about through anecdotes, the who, up until six hours ago, you had so wanted to meet.
Taehyun and Kai. The fucking seekers.
“What the fuck?” Beomgyu curses incredulously, staring at the faces of boys he used to pass in the halls at school.
Earlier that last night Soobin had told you that his two best friends were away at a yacht party.
We were having so much fun but you just had to go and rock the boat!
Jesus Christ.
You hadn’t thought much of it at the time, but now, it clicks in your mind perfectly. You barely hold back a scoff. What a terrible clue.
Kai’s mouth spreads snakily across his face, in an unnerving imitation of a smile. “Hey, Y/N. Nice to finally meet you.”
You snarl.
Off to the side, Soobin is practically vibrating in place, bouncing on the balls of his feet like a little kid. “You figured it out, right? I was worried that telling you about the yacht party was too much of a throwaway comment and then there was the issue of trying to find a way for Kai to slip in something about a water or a boat—Have to thank you, Beomgyu, for that stunt you pulled. Really appreciate it.”
Your childhood friend physically recoils at that. Taehyun grunts and presses the knife against his throat deeper. Beomgyu winces.
Shaking your head, you turn and confront Soobin. “So what was the point of all this? You guys killed all these people for what?” A tremor goes through your hands so you ball them into fists at your side.
Soobin cocks his head to the side innocently. “For you, Y/N. You love game nights. You love riddles and puzzles and mysteries, so I came up with the biggest one just for you.”
“Are you fucking kidding me?” Beomgyu exclaims. “You’re telling me that you did all of this, killed all of your fucking friends because you have a crush?”
Behind him, Taehyun shrugs noncommittally. “People who experience traumatic events together are inexplicably bonded for life.”
A beat.
“You were trying to fucking trauma bond with me?”
“You make it sound so simple,” he complains, waving the gun dismissively. “I made rules, people, there was structure. You know the order people died was the order they knew each other? Of course you did, you probably realised. But what you didn’t know is that Beomgyu—” he points the gun at him— “was supposed to go first. But you guys screwed it up! How the hell do you guys even know each other?”
“Your mom introduced us,” Beomgyu hisses defiantly. Blood trickles down his neck in response.
Soobin squints his eyes as if bored. “Real mature. Anyways, I saw you two talking in the kitchen at the beginning of the night so I had to do some emergency rearranging. So, in a way, Sunghoon dying first is kind of your fault. Granted, he would have died anyway, but, you know. Semantics.”
The same sweet boy who used to walk you to class and take you out for coffee after stressful exam weeks, the same boy who helped you out with homework and made you feel like the sun was bursting in your chest by smiling was the same one who hurt you, your friends. And he didn’t even feel an ounce of remorse for it.
“Fuck you,” you spit menacingly but you are just brushed off.
Soobin waves a dismissive hand in the air. “Plenty of time for that later. Now, we have to address the elephant in the room. The elephant, of course, being Beomgyu. Killing him now would mess up the order and I’m kind of a stickler for the—”
He doesn’t get to finish because out of the corner of your eye, Beomgyu elbows his captor in the stomach hard. Taehyun keels over, releasing him and you spur into action. Surprised, Kai takes a moment to recover before he is slashing at Beomgyu’s arm with his knife. Beomgyu hisses in pain, clutching his shoulder.
Rushing to Wooyoung’s body, pain flaring up your leg, you pry his knife from his fingers and say a silent apology in your head. “Beomgyu!” you yell. He turns to you and after a split second decision, you throw the knife in his direction.
Miraculously, he catches it by the hilt and, before you can blink, he’s lodged it in Kai’s throat.
The first seeker splutters, hands flying to press against the wound but it proves futile. Blood gushes from his neck like a burst pipe. Kai chokes as blood gets into his throat, coughing up red.
It’s a gruesome sight but it fills you with satisfaction, watching as he, too, succumbs to the same death he subjected your friends to.
Kai let's out a final wheeze before he falls to his knees, one arm reaching up to Beomgyu who watches on, face blank and chest heaving. Finally, Kai’s body goes limp and hits the floor with a thud.
“Well,” Soobin starts with a clap, turning to Taehyun, “guess I owe you that island.”
His friend grunts weakly, still recovering from Beomgyu’s assault. “You shouldn’t bet against me,” Taehyun admonishes when he rises to his full height.
Soobin nods sagely, chuckling. “I have learned my lesson.” Beomgyu steps back towards you and you reach for him instinctively. Soobin tracks the movement and something downright evil sparkles in his eyes. “Tell you what,” he says, addressing Taehyun, though his eyes never leave you and Beomgyu. “Do one more thing and I’ll throw in another.”
“An island?” you question incredulously. This was just getting ridiculous.
Taehyun shrugs. “It’s part of his inheritance. But now, it’ll be part of mine.” He stalks closer to the two of you causing you to back up to the stairs, nearly tripping over Isa’s body.
Knife pointed, he draws nearer menacingly. He’s after Beomgyu, you know. In some twisted form of logic you know that he won’t hurt you, not with Soobin right there.
Beomgyu tries to stand up straight but you can see the pain clear on his face as he clutches his injured arm. Taehyun grins at that, and lunges—
A wine bottle swings against his head from behind.
Taehyun’s body stills. He crumples to the floor in a heap of black fabric, head hitting the ground with a loud thud.
“Fuck rich people,” the assailant spits, chest heaving and your heart squeezes.
Lia.
She notices you and she lets the bottle drop from her grasp and the two run to embrace the other. All the tension you were holding in your shoulder eases, your body physically sagging against hers in relief.
You don’t even realise you are crying until damp spots start forming on her shoulder. Tears rack through your body at the feeling of your best friend in your arms, alive just like you believed she would be. Her grip around you tightens as she clutches the back of your shirt as though she fears you’ll disappear if she lets go.
“They attacked me in our room when I was grabbing my book, then tied me up and left me in the cellar. Told me that it wasn’t my turn yet. I tried to loosen them but whoever tied them used some kind of fucking boats knot. Broke one of the bottles and cut the rope with a glass shard—and my hand, too.”
It is her only injury, you note when the two of you finally pull apart. She has ripped off the left sleeve of her shirt and wrapped it around her hand as a makeshift gauze. It is stained with a giant blotch of blood but she’s alive.
She nods to Beomgyu appreciatively and he responds with a two finger wave. As she takes in the scene, all the blood and mess and bodies littering the floor, you see how her jaw tightens and eyes narrow. When they settle on Soobin, she spits in his face.
He recoils in disgust and wipes it away with—he’s got to be fucking kidding—a handkerchief from his pants pocket.
“You fucker,” Lia sneers.
He merely rolls his eyes. “Oh, great the band’s back together,” he drawls unenthusiastically. “There’s still twenty minutes left of the game, can we wrap this up?”
Aiming his gun between Lia and Beomgyu he pretends to ponder who he’s going to kill next. Lia stares him dead on, defiance dancing in her eyes and you have never been more in awe of your friend before.
“Y/N?”
Everybody’s heads whip around to the front door where Yeonjun stands in the threshold, confusion dancing in his eyes as he takes in the scene.
He came.
“Jesus fucking Christ!” Soobin exclaims haughtily, arms going up in annoyance. “Who the fuck is this guy?”
“The guy who called the cops,” he reveals, jutting out his chin as he walks towards you. “They’re on their way.” The last part is directed more to you than Soobin and you have never been more grateful to see a boy you just met.
“Good,” you say nodding, eyes narrowed as you stare down the boy you used to look at only in administration, “you’ll be dead before they get here.”
Soobin has the nerve to gasp in faux shock, clutching at his heart as though you’ve wounded him. “Okay, ouch. That’s hurtful, babe, how could you say that?”
“You tried to kill me. You made me think my best friend was dead.”
He holds up a finger to stop you and you have half a mind to slice it off. “Point of correction: I never tried to kill you. I would never hurt you, Y/N. I did all of this for you! I ruined my favourite holiday house for you! Now I’m stuck with Jeju and fuckass Tokyo. Do you realise how much I’m giving up for you here and you think I’m the bad guy?”
“You’re insane,” you say incredulously.
“Insane for you.”
“Go fuck yourself.”
“Oh, come on.” He sounds like a petulant child. Which, you suppose, is exactly what he is. “I killed for you! You think, what, fucking Beomgyu can say that? You think you’d be happy with some asshole from across the lake with a terrible dye job? No way, baby! I’m it!” By the time his spiel is over, his arms are outstretched on either side of him, chest heaving like he’s just ran a marathon.
Lia grimaces. “Did you just fucking quote Gone Girl?”
“Ben Afleck rents out his L.A. house to us, of course I did.”
“What the fuck, man?” Beomgyu expresses, face pinched.
“And this isn’t a dye job, dickwad, this is literally my hair.”
Your best friend turns to Yeonjun and stares like he’s an idiot. “Time and place, dude.”
“Y/N. Baby.” You feel yourself cringe at the pet name. He holds out his hands and takes a step towards you. “You can’t tell me you don’t want this.” Soobin’s voice takes on a sickly sweet lilt, one that would have had you melting if you didn’t find out he was a psychopath.
Thinking about your friends, a wave of protectiveness and a pang of guilt pass through you. They’re here because of you.
With determination coursing through your veins, you step forward. “You’re right.” Behind you, your friends all verbally express their shock. You ignore them. “This is what I want.”
Soobin’s smile drops into an ‘o’ shape as he inhales sharply. When he glances down at the space between the two of you, he is greeted with the sight of a knife—Yeonjun’s knife—sticking out his abdomen.
“Huh,” is the last thing he says to you.
“Go to hell,” is the last thing you say to him.
Hand still on the hilt, you withdraw the knife only to stab him again. And again, and again, and again.
Over and over until you lose count, you plunge the knife into his body, piercing his skin. Blood splatters all over your face and front but you don’t care. You are moving on pure rage at this point. Rage at this boy who turned your favourite thing in the world against you, who put your friends in danger, who has more money in his left pinky than you’ll ever see in your life.
Finally, you slow, and watch as his eyes roll to the back of his head. His body falls to the ground and, for the first time since Sunghoon died in front of you, you smile.
A real, genuine smile spreads across your face as you turn to take in your friends.
“You look like shit,” Lia comments, her own grin growing on her face.
You lift a noncommittal shoulder, teeth bared. “You should see the other guy.”
Beomgyu laughs at that, hearty and full, taking over his whole body and the rest of you aren’t far behind.
Turning to Yeonjun, you find yourself growing shy. “You came.”
“I couldnʼt in good conscience let you walk into a murder house, now could I?” he asks with a tilt of his head and an easy-going grin.
You huff out a laugh and gesture to your blood covered body. “I’d hug you but I’m kind of a mess right now.”
“I don’t know,” he drawls, eyes raking over you appreciatively. Your skin flares wherever his gaze lingers. “I think the blood and guts is working for me.”
Somewhere next to you, Lia fake gags. “Oh, god, Y/N, your new boyfriend is gross.”
“Shut up, Lia,” you admonish without turning to look at her.
Yeonjun chuckles good-naturedly. “How about we reschedule that hug? Possibly after a shower. Preferably over breakfast.”
Feeling your cheeks warm, you nod. “I’d like that.”
“Great. I’m craving pancakes and I could use a hug, too.” You turn to see Beomgyu standing with a cheeky grin on his face.
There is a low grunt from behind you. Slowly rising to his feet is Taehyun having recovered from the wine bottle to the head. Steps staggering, he glares daggers at Beomgyu. “The only hug you’ll be getting is one from death. I’m getting that island—”
A bullet lodges itself in his head and he falls back, eyes blank. Soobin’s gun in hand, Lia stands with it aimed out in front of her.
You don’t even know when she grabbed it.
She exhales heavily. “I needed that.”
Despite everything, you laugh. “So. Breakfast?”
Everyone grunts in affirmation and starts talking over each other about where they should eat when they get back to the city. Obviously, you need to wait for the police to arrive so that you can give your statements. Someone needs to talk to everyones’ parents, let them know what happened. But you’ll cross that bridge when you get there. Together, of course.
Trauma bonded and all that.
Pre-outbreak or no outbreak (take ur pick). It's f!reader, 2nd person, w/ no use of Y/N.
Welcome once again to the Joel Miller fluff crusade.
Part 1
You saw Joel and Sarah a few more times in passing over the next few days, each time smiling warmly and waving across the way, but always on the way out. Most days you saw a younger man on the way out with the two of them, who bore some resemblance to Joel, and you figured that must be his brother Tommy. Sarah had mentioned her Uncle Tommy while recounting her day over loose pieces of bookcase as the three of you built a few nights prior.
Since that night, you’d been trying to find the time to gather what you needed to make dinner for your neighbors, in an effort to adequately thank them for all their help getting your new home put together. After spending the weekend unpacking the last of your things, you resolved to hit the grocery store for the ingredients you’d need on Monday after work, and try to get dinner ready for delivery next door around the time Joel got home. Monday morning, you noticed it was just Joel and Sarah hopping in the truck as you got ready to leave for the day from your own driveway. Joel looked over at you, squinting in the bright morning sun, and smiled wide, waving.
“Just the two of you this morning?” you called, waving back at him.
“Yep. My brother’s outta town. Took a long weekend,” he said, walking over to you. You began walking as well, meeting him halfway. “I’ll have to introduce you two sometime soon.”
“Definitely, I’d like to meet him,” you said, smiling back at him.
He nods back and continues, lifting one arm up to rub at the back of his neck sheepishly. “Oh, I uh, got an idea of how my week’s gonna look. Would you wanna come over for dinner on Wednesday? I think Sarah would really like it, and you could meet Tommy too, since he’s around all the time. Damn near lives here himself.”
You tried hard to keep your eyes on Joel’s while he spoke, but you couldn’t help but be distracted by the way his shirt lifted barely two inches above the waist of his jeans, exposing a bit of his stomach. Your neck burned a little thinking of him, silently scolding yourself, pleading to Get A Grip. “Wednesday? Um, yeah, I don’t think I’m busy at all. I’d love to,” you replied almost too quickly. Joel didn’t seem to notice, however, mostly seeming relieved, and he smiled in response. God he had a gorgeous smile. Starting to seem like the Texas heat wouldn’t be the only thing making you melt.
“Great! We’ll be looking forward to it,” he said, satisfied with your answer.
“I will be too! Thank you, Joel,” you replied, hoping he saw only your earnest appreciation and not your cheeks warming under his gaze.
“Anytime. Well, I gotta get her to school,” he said, pausing and turning a bit to walk back toward the truck. Once again slightly bashful, he added one last thing.
“I hope you have a, uh, wonderful day, darlin’.” No doubt he could see the red in your face now, almost stuttering at his genuine tone.
“I-I hope you do too, Joel. I’ll see y’all later,” you replied, smiling back and turning to your own car. He watched as you got into the car, and didn’t return to his own until he heard your engine start. Taking a moment to gather yourself in the driver’s seat, you realized this crush on Joel was only going to grow each time you talked to him. You tried to tell yourself this was a bad idea. Joel’s your neighbor, and you wanted to keep it friendly and welcoming, and you had no idea how Sarah would react if something ever did happen between the two of you. No, you’d make sure to get a hold of it before bringing dinner over for the two of them tonight, which you’d conveniently left out of the conversation with Joel. You’re wanting it to be a surprise thank-you, and thinking it might be nice to not have to worry about what to do about dinner after working in the heat all day. For your neighbor. Your friend. Just that.
_____________________________________________________________
You arrived back home around five, shopping done and ready to start cooking. You set to preparing the different parts of the meal you were making. The lasagna you took a bit of time and assembly, and you were definitely making quite the mess. Around the time the bolognese finished, you looked out the window and noticed Joel’s truck still wasn’t outside the house next door. Not too concerning, you knew he worked late quite a bit. If nothing else, you could bring dinner to Sarah, and he’d have less to worry about when he did get home.
You’d been cooking for over an hour when you noticed the sun beginning to set outside. You got the hefty casserole dish into the oven, and cleaned up the mess you’d created in your kitchen, tying up the very full garbage bag to take outside. As you headed toward the cans in your driveway, a taxi pulled up in front of the house next door. Now this was strange, you had yet to see a single cab in your very residential neighborhood. You noticed as well that Joel’s truck still wasn’t in their driveway. This made more sense as you watched Sarah emerge from the back of the car on the street side and quickly walk around to the lawn, opening the door for the other passenger. You certainly were not expecting Joel to emerge from the car, grip tight on the top of the door, with Sarah leaning in to help him out. As he got out and shut the door, draping an arm over Sarah, with a pained expression on his face. While he leant heavily on the cab’s door, Sarah reached in and pulled out a pair of crutches, helping him to get a grip on the first one. After settling on the first crutch, Joel pushed the door to the cab shut behind him, and began to hobble forward. Before Joel can grab the other crutch from Sarah, you see him begin to lose his balance, enough to instinctively go down on his newly wrapped ankle, and you rush forward to help.
“Woah! Hang on a second!” you call as you approach them. Joel is huffing with effort when he notices you, and lifts his arm, allowing you to slip right underneath and support his side. Joel straightens up, leaning heavily on you, and lets out a breathy “Thank you.”
“‘course. Looked like you needed a hand,” you smile up at him. He smiles back down at you, and despite your grin, he could see your eyes wide, and brows knitting together in concern. Joel felt a growing warmth in his chest at the sight, reminding him of the wave he felt during your conversation this morning.
You motion for Sarah on Joel’s other side to hand you the remaining crutch, and help him get a comfortable hold, as you slip out from beneath his shoulder. You keep hold of him as he adjusts, letting your hand linger lightly on his back.
“Good? Okay, let’s get you inside, then I want the story,” you said, rubbing his back a bit before letting go. Joel trudged forward, shifting his focus toward keeping his balance rather than missing the feeling of your hand, warm against his back. You kept close to his side, making sure he was stable, as Sarah led the way inside.
The two of you got Joel seated on the couch, and Sarah ran to her room to change out of her school clothes. You take Joel’s crutches and place them on the wall by the couch, and sit down on the ottoman in front of him, motioning for him to place his injured leg up next to you.
“Comfy?” you asked, and Joel nodded.
“As I’m gonna get for right now, I think.”
“Okay, story time. What the hell happened today?”
That look was back on your face, Joel realized, the one you gave him outside from beneath his shoulder, that warmed him from the inside. He just wanted to look at you for a while, feeling like he could melt under the care in your eyes.
“I, uh, fell. On site today,” he responds, a bit flustered after catching his too-long pause.
You wait a beat for him to elaborate, and when he doesn’t, you speak.
“Wow. You’re a riveting storyteller, Joel. Way to paint a picture for me. Feel like I was there,” you say with more sarcasm than he can bear at the moment. Joel groans and rolls his eyes at your tone, and you grin at him, placing your hand on his injured leg, rubbing lightly, attempting to coax more of an explanation from him. “Okay, so injury acquired at work, that much we know. I assume also, based on the wrapped ankle and accompanying crutches, you saw a doctor somewhere? What did they say?”
Joel sighed, conceding to your press for information. “Yep, at work. Fall involved some scaffolding and I, uh, got unlucky, I guess. One of the guys drove me to get it checked out, and Sarah met us there. ‘S just a sprain, not a big deal,” he shrugged. Before you could respond, you heard Sarah yell from the hall.
“He’s lying!” she said. Joel sighs at this, shaking his head, opening his mouth to protest as she walks back in the room. “Nope. Don’t even try it. We came from the ER, where he waited two hours, got an x-ray, and the doctor told him he’s very lucky it’s not a fracture.” She placed her hands on her hips and looked at you, exasperated.
“It’s fine,” Joel says, “just gotta wait a couple days, then I can get back to work.”
“A week. The doctor said a week before you can go back to work. Then he said you need to spend another week supervising, no heavy lifting.” Sarah’s spiel made Joel sigh once again, this time in defeat. Your eyes were wide, impressed by her ability to both keep track and wear him down.
“Good memory.” you say incredulously, smiling at her.
“He remembers too, he’s just lying. That’s why I took the bus to the hospital instead of home like he told me. To hear the instructions myself,” she says to you, though pointed elsewhere. “ And Uncle Tommy’s still out of town, so…”
“So you took a cab home from the ER??” you say, turning your head back to face Joel, who looks at you confused. It’s Sarah’s turn to sigh now, and she turns toward the kitchen.
“I’m getting something to drink,” she breathes, and turns to Joel, “keep that elevated!”
You turn back to Joel now. You’re touched by Sarah’s concern, and give him a look letting him know as much, and wait for him to continue.
“Easier than the bus like this,” he shrugged.
“Well, what about the guy who drove you there? Where’d he go?” you ask.
“He had to get back to work, couldn’t wait around. ‘Specially with me gone for the rest of the day,” he says, like it made perfect sense. You look at him, face once again marked with worry but without the accompanying smile, he notices. You reach around Joel’s side and grab the throw pillow sitting next to him on the couch, then tap his leg lightly, signaling to lift it from the ottoman. You slide the pillow into the space he occupied, then move his leg back down to settle on top, laying your hand above his ankle once again.
“I get it,” you tell him, “but I don’t want it to happen again. Gimme your phone.” You take his phone and add your number to his contacts, and hand it back to him after sending yourself a text. “So next time-“
“Next time? You plottin’ my next fumble?” Joel asks, grinning at you. You shake your head at him.
“Let me finish! Next time you need a ride, or anything else you think I could help with, call me,” you say, gesturing to the phone now back in his hand. “I put my number in there and sent myself a text so I have yours now too.”
“Well, thank you, darlin’, but you don’t have to-“ Joel starts, but you cut him off.
“Nope. Promise me you’ll use it. If you need to, if you want to, for anything either of you need. I know your brother’s usually here, but just, put me above the cab company on the list, at least. Promise?” you plead with Joel. The worried face is back, and he’ll do just about anything to make it go away.
“I promise. Thank you,” he says, nodding, looking at you with a sincerity that reaches your bones. You look anywhere but at him, feeling your neck heat up into your ears like this morning. You pat his leg a couple of times, then stand, clearing your throat a bit.
“Well. Safe to say you guys haven’t eaten yet, yeah?” you ask, loud enough that Sarah can hear in the kitchen.
“Definitely not. And im stARVING,” says Sarah, walking back in and passing a glass of water and bottle of Advil to Joel, before placing an ice pack on his ankle.
“Okay good, give me a couple minutes, and I’ll be right back.” Sarah’s eyes grow wide with curiosity, and you turn to head out the door just as Joel begins to protest.
“What did you-“
“Just trust me,” you called to him, walking out, then peeked back in the door and pointed at Joel, “don’t go anywhere.” You said, raising your eyebrows at him.
Sarah started laughing as he deadpanned back at you, eyes narrowed “Hilarious.”
“Too soon?” you ask him through laughter. He rolls his eyes and smiles at you, shaking his head. “Alright, I’ll be right back.”
______________________________________________________________
With all the excitement of the last hour, you’d run out the clock on dinner, with only a few minutes remaining on your timer when you walked back into your kitchen. You pulled the lasagna out of the oven, covered it in foil, then stacked some potholders and returned to Joel and Sarah’s.
When you walk through the door, they turn to you, eyes wide. You can practically see their mouths watering like cartoon characters. Mission accomplished.
“Okay, so I’d actually planned to bring dinner over here for y’all tonight. As a thank you for your help last week. Couldn’t have picked a better day, huh?” you say to the two of them. Joel just stares at you, speechless. He definitely hadn’t seen that coming, but he wasn’t really surprised. Just, didn’t know what to say. Sarah speaks for both of them.
“You didn’t have to do that, we were happy to help. We had fun that night!” she says, excitedly, “but I am hungry, so come on.” Sarah leads you into the kitchen, then ushers you out, grabbing plates from the cabinet, insisting on handling it herself. You walk back into the living room, where Joel’s gathered his words, though they’re certainly nothing new.
“This is real sweet, but you really didn’t have to do that, darlin’. Seriously,” Joel says to you, gravely.
“I wanted to, Joel. Seriously.” you say, mirroring his intensity.
“I’m sure you did. I don’t doubt that,” he says, smiling knowingly at you through the words.
“Well, if you guys are good, I’m gonna get going. I’m sure you’re tired, so eat, enjoy, then get some rest,” you say to him, moving to leave. He’s exhausted, that’s for sure, but he’s also sure he doesn’t want you to leave. He’s got no idea how to make you stay, when Sarah walks back in from the kitchen, holding three plates filled with huge slices of the lasagna.
“Nope, you’re staying. You made it, it’s huge, eat with us,” she pushes one plate into your hands and another into her father’s.
“Oh, that’s sweet Sarah, but you guys have been through a lot today, I don’t want to intr-“
“Stay. Please. We’d really like you to.” This time it was Joel, insisting as well that you stay for dinner with them. With both of them staring up at you expectantly, you have no choice but to relent, taking your plate and sitting on the couch next to Joel.
______________________________________________________________
The three of you sat and ate together, first listening to Sarah tell stories of her day, then banding together to bully Joel into more details about what happened on site today. Sarah had a very strong feeling that, while unfortunate, the fall probably looked hilarious. The three of you giggled about the events of the day long after the empty plates were abandoned on the end tables. Sarah was curled up in a chair across from you two, when she got up, stretching, and announced she was heading to bed. She reached for the empty plates, but you stopped her before she could get to them. You told her not to worry about them, saying you would handle it, and she let you. After saying goodnight, she left for her room, leaving you and Joel alone.
“You’ve gotta be pretty tired yourself, huh?” you ask Joel, reaching out and patting his arm, before getting up to grab the empty plates.
“I’m alright. I’m glad you’re still here,” he says, that same sincerity in his eyes as he looks up at you, and you falter under his gaze, eager to busy yourself. Stacking the plates in one hand, you reach down and touch the ice pack on Joel’s ankle, finding it squishy and melted.
“This, uh, this isn’t doing you any favors anymore. Hang on,” you grab the limp pack and carry it and the plates into the kitchen. After cleaning the dishes and covering the lasagna, you place it in the fridge, then open the freezer beneath it to replace the melted ice pack. Luckily, you find a second just like it, which you grab and return to the living room.
You place the new ice pack on Joel’s elevated ankle, fiddling with it until you’re satisfied it’ll sit comfortably still. You’re at least partially trying to occupy yourself beneath his gaze, still unsure how to react to this feeling. He’s smirking at you when you meet his eyes, amused by your fussing over his injury.
“You really don’t have to do that, sweetheart. I’ll be alright, I can handle it,” he says while you attempt to fluff the pillow beneath his leg before sitting down next to it on the large ottoman. You place your hand on his leg once again, this time not hesitating to rub comforting and light along his shin.
“I know you can. But so can I. You’ve had a long enough day, just let me help,” you tell more than ask him.
“You already helped out plenty, bringing dinner over. She would’ve probably eaten something microwaved for dinner. Or worse, had to cook something for us herself. She does that enough already,” he glances down at his hands in his lap then, and you notice the guilt creeping into his voice. You lean forward then, and put one hand on his forearm, and he looks up, meeting your eyes.
“Hey,” you say gently, “she’s okay. More than okay, she’s wonderful. She was so sweet today, remembering every detail from the doctor, getting you in here and settled. It was adorable actually, watching you listen while she bossed you around a bit.”
“Sweet as can be, but ‘s not her job. I’m s’posed to be taking care of her, not asking her to take the bus home, or having her lug me out of a cab from the ER on a school night,” he says, running a hand over his face. You give his arm a reassuring squeeze before responding.
“This whole situation was a one-time thing, and you know that. Getting hurt on the job the one day your brother’s not with you? Bad luck. All it can be. Don’t beat yourself up about this, and definitely not when you’re this exhausted,” you say to him, hoping to provide what little comfort you can. He nods a little, head turning back to his lap, looking at your hand still resting on his forearm. “And don’t forget, find yourself in a run of luck like this again, you can call me instead.” You move your hand down, resting on top of his, and patting once again. As you move to lift it, he grabs your fingers, just wanting to keep your hand in his for a bit. You don’t move a muscle.
“You really mean that, don’t ya?” he lifts his head again and smiles at you, still holding your fingers tight.
You smile back, nodding at him, “anything you need, I told you,” squeezing his hand in return. He’s holding your hand in both of his now, and you rub little circles against the back of one with your free thumb. You wonder, for a moment, if you’re doing something you shouldn’t. He’s hurt, tired, and clearly carrying too much to think straight. Would a more awake, or less upset Joel be so open to this physical affection? Before you can spiral any further, Joel speaks again.
“Well, in that case, I was wondering if I could ask a favor of you this week,” he says.
“Anything. Shoot.”
“It’s a lot, and I hate to ask, if you can’t do it, I’ll understand,” he begins rambling.
“Joel. Just tell me what you need,” you cut him off, squeezing his hand in yours.
“Well, since I can’t drive for the time being, I was wondering if you could pick Sarah up from school for the rest of the week? Tommy’s on his way back already, he’ll get her there in the mornings, but without me there, he can’t leave the site in the middle of the day to get her home. She can take the bus if she needs to, it’s not a big deal, I just-“
“Joel. I’ll be happy to pick her up this week. My schedule is flexible, so it won’t be a problem. I’ll be there, and I’ll make sure she doesn’t wait on me either,” you assure him.
“That’s- I can’t thank you enough, darlin’, really. I-“ Joel cuts himself off with a yawn, and you rise before he can even finish.
“Alright, that’s my cue. And yours,” you keep his hand in yours, giving it one final squeeze before he lets his fall, reluctantly. “Time to put yourself and this day to bed. Do you need help getting up?”
He smiles at his lap once more. “No, I’ll be okay. I think I got the hang of those things anyway,” gesturing to the crutches against the wall behind him. “I’m gonna sit here a while longer. Thank you again for your help tonight. I’d walk you out, but..”
“Don’t you dare get up Joel, not until you’re heading straight to bed. Promise?” you smile back, making him swear once again.
“I promise. Night, darlin’” he says, smiling slightly, eyelids at half mast. You doubted he was making it off the couch tonight, but you didn’t want to push.
“Night, Joel. Get some sleep, I’ll see you tomorrow,” you lock the door from the inside on your way out, fairly confident Joel wouldn’t be getting up or remembering to do it himself. You walked out into the warm night air, head spinning with the countless moments you shared with Joel tonight. You didn’t realize how late it was until you walked back in your own home, feeling exhaustion take hold. You’ve got plenty to do tomorrow now, too, so sleep was of the essence. You head to bed yourself, silently thanking the universe you’d already cleaned up the kitchen.
Adore You💘
My Masterlist
A/N: The third part of The Fine Line - series!
Warnings: Maybe some cursing. Fluff.
Wordcount: 623
in which, Harry has never been happier.
------
"Bye baby, have fun!", you wished Harry as he picked up the lunch you made him to take with and left to go to the studio. He was going to go work on some new lyrics he'd been stuck on with Tom and some other people.
That gave you the time to get some work done and go to the grocery store to pick up some things for the dinner you planned for tonight.
Harry had been really stressed because he was having a major writing slump he just couldn't get pass. So you thought making his favorite dinner would take some of the baggage off of his shoulders.
------
It was nearing four pm and you had finally finished your work. So you had time to head to the grocery store to get a few things you needed for dinner.
You took your purse and your keys and headed to your car. Playing some Fleetwood Mac, you drove to the store.
------
The trip to the grocery store only took you about a half an hour so you had more than enough time to prepare dinner. You decided to make a creamy pasta that was one of Harry's favorites.
The pasta was almost done when Harry sent you a message saying he was on his way home. After you quickly answered him to drive safe, you finished up the pasta and poured some wine to the glasses.
------
"Lovie, I'm home!", Harry yelled out as he was taking hi shoes off. He had had an awful time at the studio, nothing going well; the coffee was out, one of his friends was sick and the lyrics he had wrote were complete shit - he just wanted to go home and see you.
As he put down his stuff and made his way through your shared home, the smell of a home cooked meal filled his nostrils. The smell making him immediately feel more at ease.
"Hi baby.", you said to him as he walked past the kitchen enterance and towards you, wrapping you in a tight hug.
His face smushed in between your shoulder and neck, he mumbled "Smells good." "Good, I made your favorite. Figured you've been so stressed and wanted to do something nice for you" you huffed out a laugh as you removed yourself from his warm embrace and led him to the dining table.
Harry didn't think he could love you any more. He couldn't help but think what he'd done in his life to deserve to have someone like you to love him the way you do.
As he slowly made him way down to sit on the chair, he looked at you with so much love in his heart it almost burned it through.
------
Harry woke up the next morning turning to his left side to face you, admiring your peaceful face as you slept. Sometimes he couldn't believe his luck. He had you; someone who loved his family as if they were her own, who always went the extra mile to make him smile, and most importantly, someone who loved him for him, someone who loved him unconditionally.
And he came to the realization that he would do anything for you, including walking through fire.
As he was in his own bubble of thought, sudden inspiration hit him. It was like a light bulb just went on, on top of his head.
He quietly got out of bed, as to not wake you. And quickly made his way through the house and into his homestudio. Taking out his notebook and swiftly scribbling down the lyrics that came to his mind.
'I'd walk through fire for you Just let me adore you Like it's the only thing I'll ever do'
------
A/N: I'll try to make the next parts longer. But everytime I feel like I'm just rambling and there's no story behind it.😫
