ishizu is like, really bad with the blame assignment shit. she believes everything bad forever is her fault for breaking the rules and taking marik outside, and that the only way to save her baby brother is by marching into the jaws of death. she even is fine with committing blasphemy knowing she'll probably be punished for it just to serve that goal. the only person she blames more than herself is yami marik, and she goes to great lengths to try and mentally separate him from marik (and avoid even calling him human) despite yami marik referring to her fairly respectfully as far as he goes, and clearly claiming her as his sister. she wants this dude DEAD, and thinks that getting rid of him is the way to fix things but like. heres the thing. yami marik could barely share cofront with marik prior to rishid v joey, much less exert influence. marik does a lot of heinous shit-- and he enjoys it. he does go mad with power and actively endanger even her life at various points for the sake of his revenge. and marik owns this. the marik + bakura v yami marik duel has an entire few pages dedicated to marik being like "yeah i blame you for killing dad but youre ME and i need to own up to what ive done. i killed our father". the point is clearly that yami marik is, in fact, a part of marik he has to own up to and deal with because hes the embodiment of his guilt and trauma and anger. and in a way, ishizu and yami marik both hid the cause of their fathers death from marik because they knew it would drive him to take his own life, albeit thats more because thats yami mariks very function on his end and not so much a conscious choice like it was from ishizu so ishizus narrative that everything bad forever is the result of yami marik existing just isnt….true. but the other characters buy it because its pretty convenient (and also i think takahashi as a writer was using him as a narrative device and did fail to avoid bad tropes around DID and also wasnt able to dedicate time and pages to a more comprehensive narrative), and its convenient for steadying her belief that things can even be fixed at all. i dont think they even blame their father at any point, which is a little fucked and so like, with the ishtars and thinking about postcanon, its like…okay yami marik cant be entirely destroyed like a ghost. hes still part of marik. maybe more integrated but at some point someone is going to have to sit ishizu down and explain how DID works because shes poured so much stock into hating this psychological concept to the point of her entire plan going into battle city being "kill him even if it kills me" and hes not even a full on guy. and shes going to have to reassess how misplaced that anger is and evaluate what that means for her internal narrative

Seto's sneer falters slightly as he narrows his eyes, looking Joey over like he's some fun new puzzle to solve.

"At least wait until she's off the clock. I can't have you distracting her."

Seto stalks off before Joey can get another word in, Kisara at her bosses side in an instant. Despite recieving Kaiba's blessing -- which he didn't want or need, by the way -- Joey is almost certain it's not gonna do him any good anyway. Kisara is way out of his league, as usual, and totally not interested in him. As usual.

I wanna talk about something really beautiful that happened on my birthday before August ends.

The lovely people from patreon, which at this point are close friends than patrons, took the time and effort to gift me a commission where I could draw whatever I wanted, along with the most beautiful letters and drawings.

I cried like a baby, no joke hahaha.

This was such a great gift so of course I made it about Saya and her birthday so here are the drawings I did for her and my birthday. I'm not showing you the letter cos I'll tear up again.

First one is Saya receiving a present from her grandma. She's super emotional because her grandma doesn't know much about postal services or technology, so Saya knows she made a huge effort to send her a present on her own.

The second one is of course Kyrie Eleison celebrating her birthday. Saya invited Kaiba for the party and well Vultur is not really happy about it, but she gets over it quickly. Also to point out that Saya is really happy this time and when she's happy and comfy she tends to be more touchy, so it's very new for her to grab Ivy and Viper that way.

and the last one is already very late and Kaiba stays at Saya's apartment and he finally gives her a present. I WANTED TO GO SUPER CURSI AND SUPER NERDY SO HEAR ME OUT.

Kaiba gives her flight tickets to Vienna for both of them~ he takes her there because HELLO VIENNA THE CITY OF MUSIC, so they can go and nerd about classical musicians. BUT, he has another surprise there~ he takes her to the St Peter's Abbey in Salzburg, because this motherfucker commissioned a whole chorus and orchestra to play the Mass in C Minor from Mozart, which is the musical that has the Grosse Messe aka the Kyrie Eleison piece that Saya loves. And of course he chooses that place because is there where it was first performed. Very cheesy, very nerdy and very Messe perfect for them.

So here they are! I wouldn't be able to draw this if it wasn't for my lovely friends. I'm so thankful and so happy that it would take me a long time to forget this.

I’ve been thinking about the post-canon digital world arc for this au. I don’t know if this will ever be officially I’m just playing with some concepts right now.

But some of the DM crew and some of the GX crew are pulled into a digital world and forced to use the deck master style of dueling.

Here are the pairings I’m playing with (this is after the Gx crew knows Jaden’s identity as Jaden Moto.

Yugi and Jaden - Yugi, upon realizing that they are in a digital world and will be using deck masters again and dueling for their lives, makes a mad dash for his son. He’s been through this song and dance before. He knows they are about to be split up. Right as the ground opens up below Jaden’s feet Yugi tackles the kid and the two go down together. He’s sat on the sidelines for to long. If these people want to attack his son then they are getting both of them.

Atem and Jim - this one might seem out of left field. But I wanted so weird pairings. I think Jim is calm and collected and him and Atem would mash well together. They handle business and keep moving forward. Jim is also someone who will give his all to help his friends and is very loyal to Jaden. Both traits earn him Atem’s full approval.

Seto and Chazz - Chazz is determined to impress Seto Kaiba. (He’s basically already family but he’s never got to duel along side Seto and this is a big deal) however he needs up with Ojama Yellow as his deck master through their usual shenanigans. (He loves to Ojamas but he’s trying to show off here) but they do turn out to be quite helpful especially when paired with Kaiba’s crush card. I can also see them having a cool moments since they both play XYZ canon cards.

Joey and Jesse - these two are having a blast. The Crystal beast are out and roasting every opponent that comes towards them and Joey is loving these spirits. It takes a bit to get their decks to sync up but over all the two are having a great time. There is a little stress because Joey has seen what Jaden will do if anything happens to Jesse. But he quickly forgets that worry because who’s taking down Joey Wheeler? Nobody that’s who. They spend most of the time talking about Jaden and Joey roasting any opponent sparing the Crystal beast to join in.

Tristian and Axel - Tristian is a weak duelist and while he’s learned quite a bit over the years he’s still not a duelist. I wanted to pair him with someone strong. Both are fighters. Tristan is always willing to through hands. They are also to characters who are willing to make the sacrifice play. (Tristan more that Axel) Axel is also super intense and not every character from DM would be able to play off that. While Tristan is giddy he can also buckle down and get things done.

Téa and Alexis - while I don’t normally like “pair the girls together cause they’re girls” but I think Alexis deserves to be with another girl for once. Also I think the character work here could be really fun. Alexis misses her friends (this is probably the first time they have all gotten together since the tournament arc) she’s struggling with her desire for things to go back to the way they were and her need to move towards the future. She started to learn this lesson with Jaden in their final year, but I think talking with Téa and learning how friendships change over time but that doesn’t mean they are gone. Friendships also require both sides to put in an effort. There is a lot of growth to be had

Mokuba and Hasselberry - honestly this is probably the weakest pairing. Mokuba has been head of torments for years now and Hasselberry has just graduated. Hasselberry is a charge ahead break down all obstacles kind of person, while Mokuba is a lot more meticulous. He’s used to dealing with long game business buyouts. He can duel well but not at a professional level. He does however know the rules inside and out. I can see them having a great moment when Hasselberry want to charge ahead in their duel only for Mokuba to slow him down. Pointing out a super obscure rule that leads to a winning combo. They are opposites that work well together

Duke and Atticus - the “pretty boys” of their series. Defiantly putting on a show every time they have to duel. When they meet up with the others everyone is a little haggard from their experience and then these to strut out like runway models

Serenity and Aster - once again this might be a strange pair but hear me out. Serenity, while far more knowledgeable than she was in battle city, is still not a duelist. Pairing her with a pro makes sense. Also Aster is a gentleman, he also loves being a hero. I can see him trying to duel for both of them and trying to protect Miss Serenity. (Although doing so might put him in over his head) Serenity is also nowhere near the Novices she was in the digital world arc in season 3. She has a working deck. She just doesn’t play on the level of Joey, Yugi, Atem, and Seto. I like the idea of her also having a fusion deck. Maybe one themed around angels.

Again right now this is just an idea. Let me know if you think any other pairs would be fun. I’m open to some changes.

She would became protective to those who shows her kindness (particularly a certain Priest (Priest Seto), who's in love Reader, and later his descendants (Seto & Mokuba Kaiba), are under her maternal care/protection). She has the ability to transforms into Blue-Eyes White Dragon and other forms (eX. Blue-Eyes Abyss Dragon, Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon, Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon, etc) & has similar abilities of these forms.

-You were an odd human, and that’s putting it mildly, as you were nothing like any normal human, mainly due to your abilities of being able to turn into a fierce monster called Blue Eyes White Dragon, capable of powerful attacks that made the earth tremble.

-You had been alive on earth eons ago, when the pyramids were being built, in a massive kingdom known as Egypt, where you were originally a slave until a priest, Seto, realized that you had tremendous energy and found that you were the host for Blue Eyes.

-He freed you from your slave shackles and took you under his wing, teaching you how to harness your power, just as many others around who had similar energy to your own.

-Seto was the first person you loved, as he was so gentle, and he fell for you as well over time.

-Even after you ascended to Valhalla, Seto not coming with you, which broke your heart, you watched over your descendants, even to this day, watching over Mokuba and Seto, who looked so much like the man you loved so long ago.

-Many in Valhalla deemed you a demi-god, as you weren’t completely human, but you weren’t a god either, but many knew of your strength and power, knowing that despite your gentle demeanor, you were not to be trifled with.

-Anubis was one god who knew this lesson very well, when you and Seto passed, side-by-side, and he was taken to another section of the afterlife, and when you begged Anubis to be with your husband as you didn’t want to go to Valhalla, he refused and had guards try to force you away.

-He never made that mistake again when you screamed out in anguish, but your scream morphed into a roar and Anubis and the guards were quickly face to face with a massive, and very pissed off, giant dragon.

-When you finally calmed down, after beating the guards and beating on Anubis for a while, you broke down in tears, returning to your human form, just wanting to be with your husband.

-Anubis had more respect for you so he was more sympathetic as he approached you, offering kind words to you, seeing how much love you had for Seto.

-You accepted your fate, watching over your descendants, keeping them safe where you could, and befriended many of the citizens of Valhalla, gods and humans alike.

-Over the years you did grow close with Anubis, who was protective of you, since you came from Egypt, the place he called home, as he demanded respect for you, despite knowing you could handle things yourself.

-You could tell Anubis had affections for you, but you felt like you were betraying Seto if you got with another man, which did annoy Anubis, seeing you holding onto a lost love for so many years, but he was patient, willing to be your close friend, with the hopes that maybe one day you would open your heart to him.

-This made Anubis territorial over you, not willing to let others get close to you in such a personable way- if they were just friends, Anubis had no issues laying back and watching you smile fondly, but to those that he knew liked you he pulled no punches and wouldn’t hesitate to threaten them, without you being around of course, as he didn’t want to upset you.

-You were going to be Anubis’, one day, and he wasn’t going to let anyone muscle in on his turf!

Puzzleship role-reversal AU following Egyptian boy Atem who transfered schools to Japan because of his father's job. As a son of a busy, high political figure, Atem constantly changes schools and have very little friends aside from Mahad and Mana who are the children of his father's close colleagues. (The other kids also got scared of him because his father is a powerful figure / only attempting to befriend him to gain benefits).

Atem grew up with strict lessons and pressure. Always have to be the best in everything. He always tried to maintain an aloof, cool-headed, always reliable leader persona, but in truth he's very shy and anxious. His only comfort was playing games, but it's very lonely to play alone (and he's not so fond of online games) (Mahad and Mana play with him but Mahad is older and doesn't have time to play childish games with him and Mana has other interests)

Atem had changed schools a lot, but it's the first time he moved overseas. He didn't know anyone in Japan and only spoke the language a limited amount (even tho his lessons back in Egypt always drilled the language into his brain but with no one to talk to it's pretty hard).

He instantly became The Talk at Domino High as "The cute/cool foreign transfer student from Egypt" and he didn't really like the attention. He became closed-off and only interact with his classmates a minimal amount, even tho he had always wanted to make more friends. (Now people thought he got a Mean Look, because of the frown 😂). Anzu was the first person who greeted him in good-faith because she purely wanted to get to know him and make him feel accepted in class (but he always brushed her off too). Jou and Honda are still part of The Delinquents(TM) and Jou just hated Atem's guts because he thought Atem is "snobby little Rich Kid". Kaiba is still Kaiba and he just Doesn't Care much.

One day, Atem got some free time and decided to visit a nearby game store: Kame Game. It's kind-of old and there's more board games and puzzle games instead of the ever-popular digital ones. But this is how Atem loves his games. (And there's always a weekly little tournament where kids can play Card Games against each other. Very Fun!).

When he came in, the store was empty and dark, but the store still has the "Open" sign at the door so Atem just kept going. There sits an open wooden box with silver carvings on one of the small table where kids play. Atem was intrigued to get closer and he saw some... wooden blocks. Maybe a Puzzle? Atem loves solving puzzles. Because this is just left alone on the play table, it means he can try it right? So he tried Solving it...

And as if the Puzzle itself was calling and urging him to Solve it... he's assembling it very smoothly. He can finally see that it's forming some kind of pendant, just a few more blocks but Grandpa Sugoroku suddenly appears and surprised him 😂 Gramps saw him with the Puzzle/Pendant and you know I really like the idea of him Knowing More than he lets on, he told Atem that this Puzzle was an artifact from The Gods' Time and whoever solved it will get a Wish come true. He urged Atem to take it home and solve it in peace. It might help you in some way, he told him.

So Atem brought The Puzzle home, thinking how that grampa was kind of Weird, but he's also intrigued with the Puzzle- so he's going to solve it. And a wish coming true doesn't sound bad at all...

she gets treated in-canon the way fandoms treat female characters that Threaten an m/m ship. it's like, "oh why don't you go sit in the corner and be pretty, misa, while the Men have intelligent conversation and pretend they aren't ten seconds from fucking each other, doesn't that sound nice?" it's infuriating. and MAYBE it's better now but i remember her getting treated the same way in fanfiction too, like we all need to do just as badly by our female secondary characters as fucking tsugumi ohba, but with the added insult of making her be alternately oblivious of the relationship between light and L or actively trying to sabotage it—incompetently, of course, because god forbid misa be allowed dignity or moments of cleverness.

she's one of the first characters I think of when I consider old school fandom misogyny. The annoying bitch and clingy crazy gf allegations were AFTER HER ASS. She's also a lot more intelligent than people gave her credit for, but most seem inclined to take the Very Biased word of our unreliable, narcissistic narrator and his homoerotic arch nemesis and claim that just because she's bubbly and into romance that she's also a complete moron. Which is blatantly untrue. Everyone was afraid of Misa girlbossing too hard. Killing people and devoting yourself to the deranged twink of your dreams even though you know he'll never love you back??? Having a hardcore goth aesthetic and being so Hot even literal Death Gods are into you?? God forbid women do ANYTHING!

Not only is she the victim of yaoi culture, she is the victim of early 2000s misogyny by an author that wanted to introduce a girl character because he knew his male rivals were getting too homoerotic. She is a goth bimbo icon who portrays what I think is one of the few callouts for stan culture and what parasocial relationships can do to both the stan and the idol. The fact that she is a toxic fan of Kira and also hot, funny, sociable is tragic in its own way, which I think the author did try to touch on but was too misogynistic too really get through. Of course, she was reduced to villain status by the fandom and anime alike because she got in the way of the supposed romance in their psychological horror anime.

Téa Gardener/Anzu Mazaki

She's friends with Yugi, the main protagonist, who is usually either shipped with his other self (Yami Yugi), or Yugi/Yami will be shipped with the main antagonist (Seto Kaiba). She tends to get demonised a LOT. I have read SO many stories where she is turned into this evil, scheming harpy of a woman who will get in the way of Twu Wuv.

Was portrayed as a bitch very often in fandom! Is very not a bitch in canon! Supportive, occasionally snarky, occasional damsel in distress, good card player in her own right (this is important in universe, trust me), and very very loyal!

"Fubuki, if you don't put on your jacket this minute, I'm punting you out the door like a football!"

A child's screeching echoed through the high-ceiling foyer, followed by two sets of footsteps pounding across the marble.

Seto listened, barely straining to make out the sound of his husband giving chase to their four-year-old son. There was Fubuki's obstinate "no!", the clatter of some piece of furniture, and Katsuya's bitten-off swearing. After a beat, he considered getting up and checking on them.

But then, bright amber eyes, framed by golden blond bangs, peered up from his lap. Asuka, swinging her legs gently, reached out with one chubby hand to offer him a mini-sausage off her plate.

"They'll sort it out," he muttered, both to himself and her.

Her response was to wave the sausage more insistently. The beginning of a pout formed on her stained lips.

Quickly, he bent over and took a small bite. This was their bargain: she finished her breakfast as long as he ate with her. The taste was a bit on the bland side. But she was three, so they didn't want to flavor her food too heavily.

Beaming with pride, his daughter stuffed the rest into her mouth. Her cheeks puffed out, reminiscent of a chipmunk.

Seto couldn't help but grin at the picture he made. His hand was halfway into his pocket for his phone before he caught himself. God, he was becoming one of those parents.

Thankfully, his husband's reappearance in the kitchen door restored his dignity. Katsuya's hair was tousled and sticking out in every which way, reminding Seto of their youth. He leaned heavily against the door jamb, using the frame to support himself and the bundle hefted under one arm. Fubuki kicked his feet wildly as they dangled in the air, but it wasn't in a tantrum. He enjoyed being carried like a sack of potatoes for some reason.

"Got 'em," Katsuya grunted, pushing his bangs out of his eyes. It was a dreadfully handsome look on him. "Is Asuka ready to go?"

Seto plucked the napkin off the dining table and wiped her face clean. As soon as he finished, he invited her to wordlessly hop down from his lap. Without further prompting, she lifted both arms so he could help her into her jacket.

"Now she is," he announced and stood.

Asuka laughed and twirled, before running to join Katsuya and Fubuki.

As much as Seto could spend the rest of the day staring at his impossible family, the kids were due at kindergarten and he had an early meeting. While Katsuya tidied the children's appearance, zipping up Fubuki's jacket resoundingly so he couldn't throw it off, Seto brought over the bentos from the kitchen counter.

He arched a questioning eyebrow at his husband as he handed them off. "Don't you think you've overdone it?"

In addition to each child's usual bento box, there was a two-tiered one. Then again, Katsuya always slipped comfortably into the role of house husband when it was the off-season for the pro-circuit.

Warmth spread through Seto's body when their hands brushed. Katsuya's fingers purposefully lingered on his wrists. Nor did he let go after he closed his palms over the back of Seto's hands, drawing him in for a short kiss.

Katsuya smiled. "Nah, the big one's for you."

"You didn't have to."

"Someone says you've been skipping lunch lately. So now you don't have an excuse."

Seto sighed. "Isono."

"I'm not giving up the identity of my mole that easily." Katsuya gave a wink.

Another kiss, a muttered goodbye; and then they were gone. The mansion always felt eerily quiet without them.

Meetings were the bane of his existence. On days like today, when they were packed back-to-back, Seto longed for a megalomaniac or two. At least they had the decency to settle matters, even if it was of life and death, through Duel Monsters.

He collapsed into his office chair for the first time since he arrived hours ago. At the moment, he couldn't bear to check his inbox and see how many messages awaited his attention.

Likely too many.

For now, he wanted to enjoy the peace and quiet of his private office.

Eventually, his gaze roamed across his desk's surface: paperwork, pens, photos of his family, a black two-tier bento box.

He straightened.

He'd completely forgotten about the lunch Katsuya made for him until now.

Well, it was lunch time. He didn't have an excuse now as Katsuya said earlier. And he so hated to disappoint his husband. Plus, he liked Katsuya's cooking.

The top level contained an assortment of side dishes: a small salad, stewed beef and vegetables, and a couple of the same hot dog octopuses Katsuya always made for the children's bentos. But the tier below that? Seto gawked at what he uncovered.

Katsuya had been making character bento for Fubuki and Asuka since the start of autumn. The kids loved showing off their colorful arrangements to their classmates. Over time, Seto too had watched his husband get increasingly more creative and elaborate with their lunches.

It appeared he was no exception.

A rather faithful depiction of his ace monster stared back at him. Shaped out of suspiciously blue-tinted rice, his Blue-Eyes roared triumphantly at a background of black rice. It was mostly the head, neck, and upper shoulders with a hint of the wings, but Katsuya had captured its essence, using carefully cut pieces of dried seaweed to fill in the finer details and contour.

Seto wondered how long it took him to make this.

He snapped a photo for posterity. Then he tested his husband.

I think your plan may have backfired.

Katsuya responded instantly.

Why's that?

There's no way I can wreck her majesty.

The pharaohs Guardian - Chapter 1

This is the first chapter of my Yugioh x f! reader fanfiction! It starts after the events of duelist kingdom and will follow the timeline and story roughly.

The fanfiction will focus mostly on Yami Yugi / Seto Kaiba x reader, but I titled it as a general Yugioh ff because there will be also interactions with other characters :^).

The Door swung open and revealed a defeated and angry duellist 

“This can't be.. lost against a girl..” he muttered under his breath and walked away, hands in his pockets.

“There goes another one, I wonder if that new Duellist is really that strong”

“Yeah and there may be a chance that she is cute”

Tea sighed “Is that all you can think of Tristan?” 

“Tea is right Tristan, why are you only thinking about that one topic” , Duke added with a small grin. It made the young brunette furious.

“Don't make this look like u didn't think about that as well! You are worse than I am” 

“Says who?!” 

The black haired boy countered and they both were ready to fight each other “Stop it you two idiots!” Joey shouted and held both teenagers away from each other 

“Who cares about her looks! When I am done with her there will be no one that talks about her anymore anyway! Because they will all talk about me, Joey Wheeler and what a great and talented Duellist I am!” His eyes were sparkling at the thought of beating that new Duellist. He would be in the spotlight of the Duel Community and have all the fangirls follow him.

But this thought vanished rather quickly as Tea slapped him back to reality. The smaller boy with the very uncommon Hair just laughed at the sight of his friends. He also kept thinking about that new Duellist that everyone was talking about. It all started a few weeks ago, when a lot of players kept losing against the new girl that suddenly showed up. People said that she was new in Domino City and others said that she has always lived here but was away for quite a long time. Whether it's true or not, she must be a good Duellist.

The group of friends walked through the door of the most popular Community Place for Duel Monsters in Domino City. Everyone comes here to duel, meet friends, new people or to simply watch the games of others. Because of the mysterious new player, the Place was fuller than ever. Everyone wants to play against her to test their skills. Naturally, the place belongs to the famous Kaiba Corporation. The continually growing popularity is good for the numbers. The CEO, Seto Kaiba, has immediately been informed about the newcomer and all the talking about her supposingly strong abilities as a duelist. So he wants to check for himself. Kaiba doesn't like it when somebody else claims themselves as the best. Yet his hectic work schedule won't allow him to follow the idea of a duel right away.

“Hey guys, I think I found her” 

Yugi said and looked directly at the girl, gaining all the attention of his friends who followed his trail of sight. She was dueling against another player, and he was losing like everyone else.  

“No way! I lost?!” he shouted, nearly screamed in anger, his opponent simply smiled

“It looks like you did but hey, you really had some good moves”

“I don't need your stupid pity!” the Player stormed out of the building in anger.

The girl just sighed and got of the Platform

What's wrong with these people..it's just a game. Why are they all so angry?  she thought and decided to sit on a chair that was right next to the Duel Platform.

“Well Tristan its seems like you were right about her being cute”

Duke simply said with a smirk on his face

“Yeah right” Tristan agreed

“Its not all about looks you two” Tea nagged at the two boys who didn't even listen to her because they were discussing about the Girl. She seemed to be a few years older than them. Joey already ran to her to challenge her to a game of duel monsters.

“Hey you!” he spoke with a bright smile, Yugi sighed a bit but had to smile typical Joe

The young Woman looked up to him

“Hm? Do you want to duel?” she asked with a light hint of annoyance in her voice

“That's right and I guarantee you that I will win!” the blonde-haired male was full of confidence, it made her a bit excited.

“We will see about that" she answers and goes up to the platform.

“LETS DUEL” they both said at the same time, starting their game. 

“Why does Wheeler even try to play against her? Even if she is not that good, he will lose anyway because of his lack of skill and of brain.” said the brown-haired CEO to himself as he watches the Duel through the cameras. They show the whole building.

“Hey Seto!” a cheerful voice echoes through the office, it was the younger one of the Kaiba Brothers, Mokuba.

“What are you doing? Are you watching the newcomer duel?” he walks to his brother and looks at the screen.

"Yes, since the talk about her seems to be never ending, I wanted to see her skills myself. If she really has any"

The younger one needs to laugh a bit “She is nowhere near your skills Seto! Since you are simply the best!” hearing those compliments from his younger brother starts to push his Ego even more.

His Loss against Yugi still nags at him, but he labeled it as luck and not as a win of skill. “When will you play against her?” Mokuba asked

“I'm busy with the company at the moment ...that means my win must wait. Now.. let's watch how Wheeler loses his Match” 

It was the first Turn of the female Duellist “Let the Party begin…” she said with a smile and started the round with a strong opener. Two trap cards (Metalmorph & Chasm of Spikes) and a 1400 ATK monster in attack position.

Joey grinned confidently "Let me show you how the great Joey Wheeler does this!" he exclaims before he draws a card and continues his turn. Yugi is quick to notice that they both play similar decks, focused on warrior type monsters. However, she uses her cards in a more strategic way than his best friend does. She knows well when to defend and attack, which gives it a feeling of a game of chess.

After a tricky move from Joey, the young woman takes a deep breath to gather her thoughts. Her best trap cards have already been used. She takes a good look over the field and the cards in her hands

Doesn't look too good..I need to find a way around his Thousand Dragon

She draws her next card, not showing any sign to her opponent. Giving away information about the cards is the worst a duelist can do. Her behavior is making Joey nervous

"Ya done anytime soon?" he asks and tries to get something out of her.

The young woman over to him, a small smirk on her lips

"I activate my Spell card: Doppleganger"

Yugi's Eyes widen "That's one of Pegasus cards! Joey, watch out!" he shouts over to his best friend. How can she have that card? he asks himself, his gaze turning worried. Tea gets a bad feeling about all of this "Joey.." she mumbles quietly. She then looks down to her friend Yugi

"If she has one of his cards she probably is in connection to him.." she says with a worried tone. Yugi takes a deep breath "We don't know that yet but Joey has to be careful. Doppelganger is a real trickster card, it can take on any form of a card that has been sent to the graveyard."

Kaiba growls behind the screen at the sight of the card "Pegasus.." he mumbles annoyed, remembering the events of Duelist Kingdom painfully well.

Joey gulps and looks nervously at the field and then at his opponent.

"And? What do ya want with that? My Thousand Dragon is way too strong!"

The young woman needs to chuckle a bit "It is indeed a strong monster, but my spell card will help me with that" she adds and continues her turn.

She activates the effect of Doppelganger, gets herself a card from the graveyard and destroys Joey's Dragon with it. His field is now empty

"Unfair!" Joey exclaims but doesn't give up so easily. The Duel continued a few more rounds and Joey had some good tricks up his sleeve. But, in the end, the new one in town won. Both players get down from the platform, the young woman goes over to Joey and shakes his hand.

“Thank you for the Duel, I had a lot of fun, and I must say you're not that bad” she comments with a warm smile.

“I can only give that back” he answered with his typical bright smile. His friends walk over to him.

"You did great Joey, it was very close!" Yugi cheers and smiles up at his best friend. Tristan and Tea agree.

The Girl sat down on the chair she was sitting on before and looked over to the group.

“So, you guys know Pegasus?" she asks carefully, not wanting to seem pushy "Oh and Im Y/N by the way, nice to meet you"

Joey grins at her "I'm Joey! And these are my friends Tristan, Tea and Yugi" he says, pointing at one after the other. Y/N nods and looks at Yugi for a second

"Oh wait, I know you! You won the duelist Kingdom Tournament, right? You are that Yugi Muto" she exclaims, surprised. The boy in questions, smiles nervously and scratches the back of his neck

"Y-Yeah, I guess that's me" he answers carefully "It's nice to meet you too, Y/N! The duel was great to watch" he adds quickly and with a hint of nervousness. The young woman smiles "Thanks! Joey is a great opponent"

Joey clears his throat "Ehem! I am the second place of duelist Kingdom, Joey Wheeler! The one and only" Tristan sighs and shakes his head, Tea can only chuckle. Y/N only smiles.

"To get back to your first question" Yugi starts and tells her about their experiences.

Seto closed his Laptop the moment the duel was over

“As I thought, Wheeler lost. But her using one of Pegasus cards can only mean that she has a deeper Connection to him. Else he would never give her such a spell card.” He said to his brother with annoyance in his Voice.

“Yeah it's obvious that you hate Pegasus after what he did but you must admit that she truly is a strong Duellist!” the younger one said

“Well.. she dueled against Wheeler which does not provide any challenge." the CEO answered with a rough and cold Tone. “If you say so” his brother answered as cheerful as always, he is used to the harsh personality of the company Boss.

“And as I said, I must make an impression myself before I can say if she is good or not. I don't care about other people's opinions, especially not from these dweebs.” and with that said, he left the office leaving Mokuba on his own. The younger Kaiba sighs "Typical Seto”

I'll ramble about it a bit because I can't be trusted to actually write it, but I really love the idea of Toei canon Miho and Kaiba dating each other fakely. Not fake dating, that is, but dating while fake. Because they are both the most Fake Assed Bitches.

It has to be cabbage boy, though. None of my other interpretations of Kaiba is good enough at social situations to even pretend his way through them as long as s0 Kaiba did, nor does he even have any interest in trying to be.

Like... manga Kaiba insults everyone to their faces immediately upon meeting them. When he finds out about Blue Eyes... offering up a briefcase full of fancy expensive cards doesn't get his way? He'll pretend for, like, 5 minutes, just long enough to steal it. It only works because Yuugi is the sweetest, most trusting, friendliest-shaped blorbo on the planet... and even he notices! He just doesn't call him out right away because he's a nice person and it is really very embarrassing for Kaiba here.

And DM anime Kaiba? Fancy expensive card briefcase doesn't work out for him either? Right. Cool. It's time to escalate the situation straight to kidnapping. Do not pass go. Do not collect $500 (that's chump change).

But this Kaiba?

He really puts some effort into this. He fools everyone except Jounouchi, who hates him cause he ain't him, not a sixth sense of character judgment.

I really love completely alternate takes on characters like this. The Toei anime is silly, but it's also SO much fun.

Miho is a similar case- they really expanded on her from the Miho in the manga and went in the direction of "super shallow and two-faced chick," but it works better for me than a lot of portrayals because, like... she's their good buddy Miho. In a lot of other series she would be the horrible fake rival, but nah. She's their actual friend who just cannot help it if everyone wants to do things for her and give her free stuff all the time. Totally innocent. Totally not taking every sucker for a ride. I love her so much, lol.

So anyway, my actual concept here is- Miho is dating Kaiba because he's rich and it makes her look cool, and Kaiba is dating Miho because it increases his proximity to Yuugi. They don't even like each other, but they both think they're so smooth and conning the other one so good. Clearly, they're head over heels. And everyone else is like "uh... um... uh... Miho????" and she's like "NO GUYS HE'S TOTALLY CHANGED." (She neither knows nor especially cares if he has because she thinks she can Manage him.)

The second concept of the image where she has white hair and blue eyes is her guardian taking over and having a say in the situation , because he isn't going to sit around and let anyone harm her.

The first time her hair turned white was probably during the DOMA arc where she had to face against Kaiba to 'get out of his way' but she ended up giving up that duel and lost her soul in the Seal of Orichalcos but then Akhet took over and her appearance changed drastically as you can see in the second picture.😮 And he was beyond pissed upon what happened to her , so prepare for hell to come 😂.

I have a lot of interesting facts to share , but that will be saved for future posts when I start making more comic like content and so on 😂❤️.

What if Joey secretly wore glasses. Like he needs them to read seriously to read. This playing into his bad grades at school. He has contacts but due to money issues he saves them only for important things like playing with friends or dueling.

One day. He either loses his last ones or can't find them. His order for them will be in too late for an important duel tournament.

The dreaded glasses. So many years he had avoided the damn things. They sat in a glasses case buried in the back of his closet. His prescription hasn't changed much so they are still good to use but gods help him does he hate those things. They make him feel like a nerd in a bad way. If the tournament wasn't so important he'd skip the whole thing just because of this.

Que tournament day or days. Joey is pissed. Gods help anyone who even looks at him. He plays for keeps the whole tournament. Trying to finish each game with a brutal and punishing pace just to get the whole ordeal over with.

Kaiba who is of course too busy for some basic tournament is watching because even if he can't play he has to keep up with any potential competition. He of course see Wheeler. With glasses. He got no more work done for the day. Distracted by Joey's odd play style and those damned glasses.

Joey is ready to fight. If anyone says a damn thing at school he is going to start a fist fight. It'll probs take him a day or two to relax about having to show his glasses in public. He does threaten Tristan at least once. Tea thinks better of telling him he should wear them if he needs them when she see that so the gang keep quiet.

Kaiba of course can't stop thinking about Joey in glasses. He has looked at several magazines of objectively attractive people with glasses but only none of them look half as good as Joey. Especially while dueling.

Kaiba of course somehow avoids a fist fight while goading Joey into a duel, forcing him to put on his glasses. (Maybe he offer to pay for Joey's contacts for a year or something if he loses idk) Oh course Joey is in fight mode just like the tournament. Much to Kaiba's surprise (I feel like he had them set up in a private arena so Joey would be focused on him without the other dweebs) Joey beats him bad.

Joey still wearing his glasses meets Kaiba off the duel stage to make sure he keeps his end of the deal. Kaiba instead of just shaking his hand pulls him into a deep kiss that leaves Joey breathless and speechless.

"As unfortunate as it is. I am a man of my word." He straightens Joey's glasses with a very satisfied smirk and leaves. (Quickly because though he has stuff to do he has half a mind to cancel it and go back for another kiss or two)

As much as I prefer so emotional development on both sides I can only see this as a silly sweet oneshot where Joey secretly wears glasses and Kaiba is totally into that. If I ever get to a level of drawing humans I like i so wanna draw Joey in glasses that I imagined.
