Thoughts on the house of Yin below cut (tbg spoilers)

I’ve been back thinking very intensely about TPW and specifically the Yin family; and listening to Like Him on repeat made me start thinking about how they are always described as reflections of eachother. Vaisra and Riga are both described as older versions of Nezha (Vaisra more so tho), and while to my memory we never get a physical description of the Red Emperor, I’m choosing to believe he did bc it makes the parallels hurt more 💔

I wanted to stay true to the descriptions we have and show resemblance between Vaisra, Riga and Nezha, but change them slightly in expression as well as features like jawline and eyebrows. They’re all related, but not directly, some features differentiate them. With the Red Emperor, I wanted to show him in his youth, while he was uniting Nikan. I tried to give him the same “air” as Nezha, both with slimmer faces and expressions- both trying to unite a country young, both having difficult and complex relationships with Speerlies

I love how complicated and messy this family is and how different yet similar they all are, and how all of these freaks just cant help but get involved with speerlies! History moves in such vicious circles and these guys are always right in the middle of it
