When did you start making custom content? like, what inspired you?

I started making content for ts4 in 2018. My very first cc was a recolor of some base game leggings. At the time I did it just for fun, I had the sims 4 on my past laptop for years and never played it. I was very new to mods and signed up for TSR because it was a concentrated place for decent content (or so I thought) at the time.

Meanwhile I was a dev over on imvu and I was getting pretty bored. I had few friends and my catalog never did well cause most of my stuff was pretty niche; it wouldn't have bothered me much but the way you upload there is by paying for credits or recieving credits by people 'buying' stuff from your catalog. It wasn't long before I dropped imvu completely and started uploading more on TSR. It wasn't until 2020 that I really got into the flow of making truly custom content for Ts4, S4S had a major update making it easier to use, I started to get to know blender (but wouldn't truly understand it for a while) and really start to develop my own unique style.

I started making content for myself and just shared it cause otherwise it would just sit on my computer, collecting dust. I still don't play sims on pc so everything I make is because I wanted to create it for myself, see it in game, say "that's cute" and then forget about it in a week.

I don't draw, paint, sketch, wheel throw or build anymore so making cc is my artistic outlet nowadays. I hope it lasts tho, otherwise I'll have no emotional release.

Attention members of The Sandman Facebook group

Hello, this is Amanda Pike, creator of The Sandman Facebook group. In the last three months there have been many hacking attempts on my Facebook account, likely because of how fast The Sandman group grew.  The group currently has 130,000 members and there were some threats to get my account disabled. Supposedly “in theory” it should be very easy for me to get my account unlocked.  All Facebook wants is a picture of my photo ID.   Easy, right?   Yeah, but in the site’s process for providing this my PC gets stuck at “Submitting.”  Yes, I’ve closed and re-opened the browser. Yes, I’ve restarted the PC.    I’ve even tried two different browsers.  And no, my connection isn’t bad at all.  It’s quite fast actually.

I have spoken to Facebook support and Meta support over chat and E-mail and both have told me that the only way I can submit the ID is on the Facebook website through the method they provided in the site. So until I can sort this out here is where you can find / contact me. Yeah it's cool that stuff I liked as a kid is still around, but it's not the same therefore it doesn't hold the same value/vibes that it did when I played it.

It's all either based on apps or subscriptions or some sketchy 3rd party download. Which is fine, I guess, but not everything meant for a computer works well if at all on a phone/tablet. There was no subscription, it used to be free, and 99% of the content was there for everyone to buy with in-game currency that you'd earn by playing games and a daily log in. Unless you had a member's subscription which got you ACTUAL "higher end" things in-game, it was free. Even still, the higher end, subscription only things STILL went on sale like twice a year and it was able to be accessed by everyone, meaning those who didn't/couldn't pay for a subscription STILL got a chance to have the fancier items. Everyone also had access to a computer whether it was at home, a friends house, school, or a library. Everyone had a chance to login at least a few times a week to play their online game for a bit. And you didn't even need the greatest internet! I played Club Penguin with dial-up and it worked fine. I played IMVU with spotty internet on a half-ok laptop and it worked fine. But now you need seamless internet connection and the weather to be just right with the moon aligned perfectly or else it shits out and becomes unplayable for 2 hours until your ISP can figure out what the issue is, just for you to not have internet at all for a week. Oh you also almost always need a phone and/or a tablet because it works "better" on those even though they were MADE for computers/laptops. But also your phone/tablet is now a way to aUtHeNtIcAtE your account 50 times before being able to actually play the damn game, but not before you're asked another dozen times to invite friends post to Facebook/Twitter accept cookies/tracking and sign up for their 3x daily email that has the shittiest deals for the shittiest in-game items, and the only subscription anymore is to buy content that was in the game 10 years ago for free, and no there's no more in-game currency you now have to use your real money to buy anything in-game. Your computer/laptop could last you years if taken care of properly but most phones/tablets now are made to last 2-5 years meaning you have to spend the same amount on a decent phone that can keep up with the demand of a game that a PC that costs the same amount has no issue doing. So fuck you if you don't have $1000+ to drop on the newest phone just for it to die in 2 years, because your rinky dink $300 computer that's been working well since 2015 is just """too old""" for their mediocre, hardly maintained online game that worked perfect on an okay laptop back in 2009 with shitty internet.
