I got invited to a pool room
❓: Hello there, how are you today? Sorry for the random invite Me: I'm alright, yourself? ❓: Not too bad. Was just starting work Me: Ah, nice nice ❓: Yeah, I'm a pool cleaner Me: i see ❓: *she shrugs* Yeah. It's honest work. I wear a dorky uniform for it, but most people leave me alone and don't make fun of me for it ❓: some do though Me: I mean, someone has to do it ❓: Yeah. I usually end up working for rich people. So they feel like they have some sort of dominion over me. Me: ah ❓: she shrugs Oh well. I could put my uniform on if you want. I do look kind of silly in it Me: Up to you ❓: It's a conversation piece at least she laughs ❓: *she goes to the back to change. After a while, she waddles out, tugging at her suit and wiping her goggles* Here it is. Sorry if the breathing's too loud. Me: Hold up, I didn't consent to a roleplay lol ❓: oh ❓: Sorry, roleplaying is what I do. Me: Normally you have to ASK if people want to rp ❓: oh. Well, would you like to RP? Me: No. Goodbye.

The real difference between WoW RP and FFXIV RP is that FFXIV is varied enough to support different climes of Roleplayers. There are legions of WoW-style RPers and all it takes is a look at the Quicksand on Mateus (woah, everyone standing around waiting for walkups? deja vu) ..if WoW had player housing and modding, you can bet your ass it'd have the same club and imvu bullshit FFXIV does. There's 0 difference otherwise besides WoW players being characteristically inflexible in everything.

Firstly your header is adorable that little fucking nose scrunch is everything. Second would you ever consider roleplaying Stue at all?
Oh yay, first ask! Yes, I had to find the cutest yet not common pic of Stu for my blog. Second, as much as I hope it surprises everyone who follows me, I am more of a stu fangirl than a stu roleplayer. It's not that I don't feel confident to play him. It's more that had some past issues with an ex when we'd try experimenting with different gendered avatars on imvu (god, I feel old now). I feel more confident either writing him in the Scream House au or a Steven universe au. The Dollface idea came from a friend of mine on Discord

Some people take vu roleplays wayyyyy too serious.
9 years on vu and you’d think he’d know how to let that shit go but instead, he wanted the world to know about his roleplay family drama. so world, here you go.
Oh and if this situation sounds anything like Fae and Kaitlyn and Arctic and Kii and Anti etc, it’s because it does and is. Mostly all vu online drama is the same just with different people.

🍨 Hi hello, what’s the deal-io? 🍨
Welcome to my blog! My name’s Bree, I am 24-years-young, and I was born and raised in Europe.
I love the colour pink, art, video games, movies, Greek mythology, and forensics. I am currently employed as a retailer. In my free time I enjoy playing games, looking at pretty pictures and art, journaling, and watching movies.
I’m also a roleplayer and enjoy writing semi-original stories in my favourite universes, such as Kingdom Hearts or The Lord of the Rings.
I’d love to make some new friends in my age-range. Someone with similar interests, an easy-going personality, and someone who can understand that I don’t always want to reply to messages.
I am hesitant to give out my Discord to people I don’t know, so let’s chat on Tumblr, Instagram, or even IMVU! I really want to meet new people, and I welcome messages from everyone!
Talk soon? ( •̀ ω •́ )✧

Ellie’s Opinion on Today’s Mystery Packages (Summer Bands) on IMVU
Tumblr media
If you have been on the browser version of IMVU today specifically on the classic website you probably ran into all of the marketing regarding their limited time Mystery Room Packages. If you haven’t feel free to check it out because let me tell you one thing IMVU does exceptionally well is market their products for their virtual world platform. You’ll probably see the banner that looks like this;
Tumblr media
and switches to this;
Tumblr media
When you click this banner it leads you to a page that looks like this;
Tumblr media
Enticing isn’t it? well it was to me. I love the Mystery Packages and when I can I buy them often so I can review my experience with them and show you what you could get by participating. Basically its like a gacha (a japanese gumball machine chance item) these are popular in Second Life and the mobile application called Line chat if you’ve ever used it. Everything you get is given by chance. Don’t let the only $15 fool you though your basically paying $1 for each thousand credits which let’s be honest isn’t that bad. But you’re hoping for the mystery of getting a new room you probably wouldn’t expect yourself buying that you can USE. Well my exeperience this time around was both a negative and positive and let me tell you why. When I bought my first bundle I’ll be honest I was a little disappointed. Why? because I ended up with a nursey. Now for someone who participates in family RolePlay on IMVU this is a great thing to obtain. However, if you’re anything like me and you’re just the life of the party and enjoy chatting with others. You don’t really have a need for a room like this. I am still a little salty about it because yes I was disappointed to begin with. And this is where humanity is flawed. You shouldn’t be disappointed in what you recieve but grateful for everything you currently own and the new things you obtain. I was a little upset for a good 10 minutes but as a virtual world interior designer in both IMVU and Second Life I thought about it and I could possibly make the room work for my type of decor style so I can use it in the future. But because of my disappointment I ended up making an impulse buy and buying another Mystery Room for $15 I wanted to see if I would be upset with the options with a second go. I wasn’t disappointed. The way I see things everything happens for a reason even if the reason can’t be explained. The fact you get credits with these packages are helpful because even if the room isn’t something you love you can spend the credits on something you do. You also get to keep each individual piece of furniture that you can use to decorate other rooms you buy if you buy any. There’s always a positive to every negative.
First Mystery Package Revealed:
Tumblr media
So this is going to be somewhat of a rant from my disappointment earlier. I didn’t want to change anything I typed before when I was on a roll with my ranting spree because I want to show RAW emotion. The truth of how humanity acts towards certain situations when disappointed or upset. Hopefully if you take away anything from this post it’s that we’re all sensitive to emotions and haunted by our own anger and disappointment in life. When we all should really be grateful for the things we have and the things we obtain no matter what it is.
Technically I bought two for myself thinking it was just a dud try with my first luck of the draw ending up with a nursery. I mean don’t get me wrong for a family Roleplayer on IMVU that would be perfect. But what am I supposed to do with that? I don’t family RolePlay on IMVU I just could never get into it but am rather active with it in Second Life. Overall, it’s okay but it’s also a boys room... I’d rather it at least be gender neutral for a nursery so if I ever wanted to try my hand at it I could go the boy or girl route. No it’s just for boys. Okay that’s fine but this room will probably get zero use out of it for me. It was actually a bit disappointing for me. I guess the 15,000 credits in a sense make up for it though. But still I’d at least want to be provided a room that I could use at some point during my adventures in this virtual world platform. Sometimes I feel with these mystery packages there should either be a one time retry button for something you could use. Or a way to sell the room for a smaller price even so you can get credits for it to spend on an item or something. It would make sense for those who can’t use what they obtain. Everyone is into something different. I don’t want a kid in a virtual world.
However, overall the design is nice don’t get me wrong for a boys room it’s definitely cute for what you get. In a way I’m at least happy you get the furniture the living set I could probably use in a different room I have. But things like baby blocks and a crib? It was almost a waste of $15 for me. Oh yes! by the way these mystery packages are a whole $15. For this price it would’ve been more worth while to buy VIP and credits when on sale for $5.50. I guess I’ll figure out something to do with this room but it’s a shame it will just basically sit and collect cobwebs in my inventory. Below are some photo’s of this nursery. Like I said theres nothing wrong with the nursey for what it is it’s gorgeous and adorable. The creator did an amazing job! I’ve nothing against the creator or how the overall look of the room is... but again what am I going to do with it in the way I use the IMVU platform? Wish me luck as an interior designer im going to see what I can do with what I have and see if I can find a use for it down the road.

Second Mystery Package Revealed:
Tumblr media
The second Mstery Package I was a little more excited for. I’ll actually be able to use this at some point. It would make a nice possibly dark themed club for the future and came with a lot of nice furniture that I can use in general whether it be in a club or home aspect. I’m not as salty spending the second $15 that I did. The second try was a lot more exciting for me since I obtained things that I COULD use at some point in one way or another. So it didn’t feel like a waste of money for how I use IMVU. I enjoy partying and entertaining my friends with a nice chat and a few awesome dance moves. I honestly can’t complain too much about my second Mystery room from the package. Best part it’s from a creator I’ve never heard of. I always support creators on IMVU especially the new and upcoming ones. I love the scenery and everything this room has to offer. Other than it looking a little to shiny and latexy it’s something I enjoy. Below are some photos of the club. I’m quite happy with this room. The room is called the PVC Black Hearts Club if you want to find it.

Conclusion:
Overall, though I was disappointed with the first room. The second Mystery Package I bought was anything but. There are certain rooms for different people and though I didn’t know what to do with the nursery I’ll find some way to use it I’m sure. The second room the PVC Black Hearts Club is filled with so many things that are interactive and there’s so much to it. Between the furniture and the atmosphere it’s something I enjoy. Just know that sometimes you’re going to obtain things in Mystery Packages you don’t like and that’s why IMVU does it. Because they know if what you get first isn’t something you like or can use the curiosity consumes you and you end up impulse buying another. Sometimes that’s a good thing because you could be like me and end up with something you like and can use for your second. It all has to do with the luck of the draw. I hope this was somewhat interesting to read.

Story Time
So when I was younger there was this website called Whirled, I doubt many of you know of it. I loved it, I made a lot of friends on there and felt like I could really express myself. It was a lot like IMVU, had avatars and a ton of stuff like that you had rooms you could make, groups, and the like. The creators on there were phenomenal, they made tons of things flash games like Corpse Craft (which I miss dearly) avatars with custom animations, pets with commands, and furniture for your rooms, they also made the themes for the rooms (which can change the dimensions of the rooms), and it was full of roleplayers, most of which were child friendly. The one problem was the people who owned it, Three Rings. They created Spiral Knights, the only product of their’s still on the market. They made a really fun Doctor Who multiplayer game which was discontinued nearly 2 years after it coming out, but we aren’t talking about that. Whirled came out in 2007 and was in beta through its whole life, bit into its life it switched from three rings servers to sega which took a few weeks, everyone thought it was over, on its “final” hours people threw house parties, it was like having a ball before a soldier’s deployment, but it came back. though this time it had no admins on ever, all the protections from porn were fucking gone, it felt like a husk of its former self, it just wasn’t the same, I still kept going though, watched as the userbase of a million or so to just a few hundred, it was like watching a loved one slowly die, and then it happened, they finally pulled the plug. But the funny thing is we all just sorta, moved on. Then, out of the blue, a whole new version came out whirled.club is its name. The whole reason for this long tangent of a post is to say, nothing lasts forever, I’ve been on websites with staff that don’t do anything, I’ve seen huge shockers of announcements like this, just don’t lose hope because they say they’re going to wipe out half the population of their website. And hey, maybe if we end up needing to abandon ship, hope is always there, maybe the lost flock will find a new home, you never know

Well, here comes grandma speaking about the old times... hahaha.
For me, roleplaying as a geisha started around 2008 or 2009, I think? Back then I barely knew what roleplaying was or even what geisha were, so you can probably imagine the disaster that must have been. There was a group of people I regularly interacted with and we collectively established what we called IMVU’s first hanamachi. We called it Yanagagikawa.
We thought we were roleplayers, but looking back it was more like cosplay. We did use different names for our characters, but keeping In Character and Out Of Character separated proved to be very hard for many. Thankfully most of us got gradually better at that, but after a few years things came to a point where there were too many differences in how people handled things. By then we had several “okiya” groups, which people’s characters could join, but there was no general consensus about what was done and what rules should be followed in our hanamachi. We had basically two factions: one where people really tried to mimic living in a real life hanamachi as close as possible, and the other group that... well, didn’t. You can see where it went wrong.
So Mitsuyo (a friend of mine) and I decided to create a new hanamachi together. We took our own okiya groups with its members and characters and started anew. We decided on a new name, created a set of rules and then started to allow more people in. That was in 2012, I think. Our goal was for people to properly roleplay the life of a shikomi/maiko/geiko, so we agreed that education was a big priority. We wanted no misconceptions, so every roleplayer would be expected to know their stuff about things like the different arts, kimono or basic manners.
Our roleplay would take place in a hanamachi called Miyajimachou and all our characters would be part of either the Ayanigu (Mitsuyo’s) or the Sumiya (mine) okiya. One of our rules stated that only people whose character was a geiko (after completing all previous stages) would be allowed to set up an okiya. Someone owning an okiya group would after all be responsible for educating the people that joined that group, so that wasn’t an easy task for people to take on.
As a result, the hanamachi rp did well and we were glad to welcome many new members. Mitsuyo and I organized several events for the geimaiko characters to showcase their arts and we strictly followed the customs and rituals of the real life hanamachi - but with our own twist. Some things just can’t be done in a chat program after all.
In 2017, Mitsuyo decided to leave the roleplay, so then it was just me leading the roleplay. Thankfully, Rei (from Mitsuyo ’s okiya group) stepped up and took responsibility for the others in her group. She started the Hanai okiya, and the Ayanigu closed its doors.
Rei and I edited the rules a bit to make sure people would be more committed to the roleplay, we standardized tests and traditions, and together we set up many events for us to roleplay. She took charge of her new okiya group and the hanamachi attracted many new people.
In the meantime, I developed new products for us to use in our roleplay, like dance poses, props, accessories, hairstyles, kimono and many other items. Lately I’ve been focusing on creating a website to collect all our hanamachi’s rules and traditions. It’s a lot of work, so it takes a while.
Other than that, I am working on several rooms, and in particular one that would be our hanamachi, with Flash portals to our okiya and ochaya rooms (if IMVU will let me). In addition, I set up a BIG Japanese/Kansaiben-English dictionary for us to use and I keep track of all of our (NPC) characters in another spreadsheet.
Lastly, there are of course also the yearly events to organize, like Shigyoushiki, Baikasai and our spring Odori. Most of the preparation work is setting the date, making sure everyone is happy with their role and in some cases getting the room ready. Then it’s up to each individual roleplayer to make sure they are ready in time - and for the Miyajimacho okaasan players to keep track of that! Rei is always a great help for organizing these events, because I keep forgetting about them, haha.
So yeah, that’s about it. If you’re interested to learn more about the Miyajimachou, please send me or Rei a PM or let me know through  https://www.imvu.com/groups/group/Miyajima-chou%2BHanamachi%2B%255BRoleplay%255D/.
Hello, I've been taking a look at the blog and I find what you're doing really cool ! If you didn't already answer it or don't mind repeating, how did it all began ? And how makes the super cute hikizuri we see in the posts ? ☺️ Have a pleasant weekend 🍁🍂
Hello and thank you for your message. The RP group basically started with a group of hanamachi enthusiasts looking for a new hobby :D That was close to 10 years ago I believe. There has been a lot of changes and refining the idea over the years as the group expanded, we've designed new items, implemented new rules and ideas. (Maybe @athousandtales-imvu can tell us more about the early beginnings :D )
Majority of our hikizuri (also kanzashi and other items) are made by AThousandTales on imvu (shop link ) and a few by AlexVanEks (shop link ). I highly recommend their shops if you are interested in dressing up your imvu avatar in the best kimono out there :D
Thank you for your message!
