So when I visited my local mall I found the most insane import goods store

They had Pokemon plushies in plastic packaging that you could only find in japan! (Putting NY Nintendo store to shame).

FRICKEN SQUISHABLE PLUSHIES! They are like my new favorite brand now. (Why didn't Pokemon collab with them their so high quality with their designs)!

And they had all of this food!

Of course i had to get something! But i didn't want to spend crazy so I just bought some pkmn scarlet and violet brand stickers. And a blind box toy (it was quaxly).

I might go back with my friend... If i can i might try my hand and get this koffing plush

So many questions asked of me when I walk in with a new container of instant (freeze dried) coffee.

"Where did you get that?" "It was how much?" "What makes it different?" "Can I see that?" "Is this written in Japanese or Korean?" "How do you know how much to use?" "So how is it?"

$8 for a small jar of instant coffee... is admittedly a bit expensive. Considering they wanted about $3-4 per bottle of iced coffee though (or $2 for the little cans), and I get a little more out of it than the $10 12-pack sack of instant coffee pouches I'd say this is a win. Plus areas around here want about $3-6 for a single cup of coffee (varying in size and types).

Online recommendations on some random Korean food blog a search engine brought up said to use 2 teaspoons of this brand. Makes a very strong cup of coffee even with my usual addition of some sugar and milk or a bit of condensed milk so I'll try testing it later with either less coffee or more water and this is with 10 oz water instead of the instruction's 6 or 8 oz (I forget which now).

anyway since Dream just manifests his little Outfits:tm: and isn't an actual physical being i fully headcanon that part of why he doesn't accept Death's offers of food/drink/taking off shoes to touch grass is that a good 80% of the time he doesn't actually manifest more than necessary so

no he can't take the shoes off, he's a goth little outfit walking around with hands and a head. Underneath the coat he's like a sworling darkness void or whatever

so a few weeks ago i went to a local scandinavian fair/market (i live in the northeastern part of the usa, so not a Huge population of scandinavian immigrants/ancestry. a pretty small but really nice gathering!), and there was someone there selling imported Finnish candy. i thought of you talking about salmiakki and asked if she was selling any, which apparently she was, but sold out pretty fast! i still bought a bag of assorted Finnish candies that she had put together herself, and i really liked them! however... one day i will try salmiakki, I've got it in my mind now.

Ooo that's so cool! It feels really strange to think of Finnish candy being sold as rare imported goods on the other side of the world, but that's how it goes, of course. Where I come from, some common American brands are still exotic and rarely stocked by stores, I remember coming across Reese's cups in person for the first time just a couple of years ago and going "OH I've heard of those!!"

Salmiakki is a powerful and unique flavor, and as a finn it genuinely brings me such glee that you remembered me mentioning it once and were curious enough to try to give it a taste! Sorry they were sold out. I hope you'll get your hands on some sooner or later. (I personally like the hard candy varieties like turkinpippuri, oukki doukki, patruuna and dracula piller the best, but I'd say those can be on the more aggressive end so, like, brace yourself a little if that happens to be your introduction point).
