I have such intense feelings for your bingyuan roommate au, it’s unreal. Binghe would be the BIGGEST green tea bitch/pick me girl but only towards sy, no one else. encountering lbh in the wild first and then experiencing him next to sy would be a fever dream of epic proportions. actual dozens of women would want to behead him and rip out his guts. bc lbh would ditch them on their birthday, an actual medical emergency, or anything critical at all just bc sy vaguely implied he was hungry (lbh now HAS to cook for him, it is not a want, it is a NEED)
And sy would be worse then evvvver, lol. “That’s my little didi binghe, he’s so sweet and sensitive, girls are always breaking his heart :((( If I were his girlfriend I’d get married to him next week and bounce on him silly style. Too bad no one will ever appreciate binghe like I do :(((((” and it is only after MANY of those thoughts that he realizes that he might not feel all that brotherly towards lbh
on a hornier note, I’m at a toss up between thinking that lbh would bring his hookups/girlfriends back to his and sy’s home and fucking them there (bc in lbh’s mind he can’t cum right without the reminder of his gege… and what if gege walked in 🤤… maybe lbh can get him to join…) or him absolutely refusing to let any of them so much as glance at his gege (no one should look at sy except him)
EXACTLY EXACTLY EXACTLY you get it anon.
It's literally like
Woman: let's have a threesome with your friend
Binghe: the idea sounds so appealing but I don't want some stranger getting his hands on him! I don't want to share him with someone who doesn't show him the love he needs. I'm the only one who knows him well enough to be in a threesome with shen yuan
Woman: thats sex. You're just describing regular two people sex. You want to fuck your best friend.
In my head for this au I imagine them as long time friends.. shen yuan found binghe getting bullied at a park or something when they were kids and told his bullies to fuck off. Then he listened to binghe cry about how he's so worried about his sick mom being overworked and begged his parents to hire binghes mom. With way better pay, hours, and work environment, her health improved a lot and she's good friends with shen yuans parents.
Binghe tells himself he acts like shen yuans guard dog because he'll always be grateful for what he's done for his family, but really, he fell in love with his Yuan ge at first sight the second he saw a boy standing up for him instead of ignoring his bullying.
Someone: say something nice about your best friend
Binghe: oh I have so much to say! He's so sweet and intelligent and adorably nerdy ! He saved me and my mom and-
Someone: say something nice about your girlfriend
Binghe: um..... uh ...... well.... sometimes she... hmm......
The poor women he dates. They'd go through SO much suffering trying to "fix" him and then when they finally give up after going through hell itself, they see bingge and shen yuan get together and suddenly the most negligent terrible boyfriend in the world is buying flowers and posting corny pictures on Instagram and proposing a few months into the relationship.
Shen yuan: I can't believe I managed to bag someone as handsome beautiful and loving as binghe. He wakes up at 6am every morning to get started on breakfast so he can feed me in bed. He's so attentive I worry I'm taking advantage of him. How did he get broken up with so often? No one appreciates people like binghe
Everyone else binghe has ever dated: I told him I got stabbed and he left me on read

Bby siren SJ & spoiled kid SY
I cleaned up a ficlet from a sprint I did with @danmeichael while ago! Cw implied murder & cannibalism (none depicted, just normal siren stuff)
"My parents said I'm not supposed to get in the water," The young human— Shen Yuan, he called himself— explained with patience but no small amount of self-importance, as though Shen Jiu was the one being difficult and the human was being the bigger person by humoring him.
"I can't play on land" Shen Jiu said with a put-upon pout, flicking his tail above water-- the small, short glimpses of his shiny scales were usually enough to beckon the human children closer. They were, in all honesty, usually quite easy to trick. Safer, too– even if humans were softer and weaker, Shen Jiu was still far too small to over-power an adult. When it had been the two of them, he and Qi-ge had been able to catch larger prey, but now– well now, Shen Jiu had to look out for himself, and that meant smaller kills, even if he had to venture much much closer to shore than he would have liked.
“We could, um,” the human paused, “I guess you can’t have games or books underwater…” he trailed off for a moment, before his face lit up with a charming smile. “I can read to you! I can read chapter books now,” the boy said with great aplomb, as though it should mean anything to Shen Jiu, “wait here, I’ll go get one from my parents!”
"NO!" Shen Jiu cried out. If the boy left, there was no guarantee he would return, or worse, he might come back with his kin trailing behind him. Shen Jiu hadn't eaten in weeks; he couldn't allow this chance to slip through his fingers.
Shen Yuan blinked at him, and then sat back down on the rocks, his cross legs out of reach of the lapping waves. Still not close enough for Shen Jiu to drag him under before the other humans heard his screams. Then, miraculously, and without any further beckoning the boy leaned closer. Shen Jiu's body tensed, tracking the movement, waiting for the boy to reach an angle where gravity would do most of the work to send him toppling into the waves.
"Are you lonely?" Shen Yuan whispered.
Shen Jiu jolted. "What-?" The anger was immediate and instinctive. He snapped his teeth. His hand jerked up, but no, the human was still too far from the edge, from Shen Jiu, all Shen Jiu was doing was flagging his intentions as plainly as a whale, like an idiot--
"Hey, that's-" annoyance flickered over the boy’s face, and for a second Shen Jiu thought he had caught on, that he would run, and Shen Jiu too would have to flee, wasting more of his energy with a failed hunt– but then Shen Yuan was once again the picture of a young lord. The boy cleared his throat. "I mean, you don't have to be embarrassed. I would be upset too if I had no brothers or gameboy," he said with the air of someone delivering sage wisdom.
Shen Jiu blinked. “Yes,” he repeated, perhaps unconvincingly, “I’m very sad without a ‘game-boy’ or… my brother.” he finished with a whisper. Shen Yuan nodded sympathetically.
“Ah!” His eyes widened and then curved, sparkling in the midday sun. He shoved a hand into his clothes and dug around, before pulling out some kind of small white and blue object.
“Da-ge always gives me milk candy when I fall and skin my knee. It’ll cheer you up!” He explained, dropping the thing towards the water.
Shen Jiu fumbled to catch it, only for the crisp white and and blue paper to start dissolving in his hand. He dropped it on instinct— bright colors spreading through the water could only mean poison. He glanced up and sent the human a viscous glare.
"Nooo, you have to eat it before it gets soggy!" Shen Yuan urged, seemingly oblivious to Shen Jiu’s ire.
Shen Jiu considered for a moment. This creature was far too stupid to poison someone, and seemed to have been carrying this for some time without any precautions or fear of it. It probably was just food. Shen Jiu’s stomach grumbled. Cautiously, he grabbed the ‘milk candy’. The blue had fallen away to reveal a white pellet that sat nicely in his palm. He put it in his mouth.
“Mm—“ Shen Jiu couldn’t suppress the noise. His head fins fluttered in delight as the creamy, sweet taste spread. He held it there carefully, letting it slowly melt over his tongue.
“It’s good, right?” Shen Yuan asked, just a little smug. Shen Jiu reluctantly nodded. He reached down to pat Shen Jiu’s head, as no one had done in so long. “You don’t have to be sad. If you’re lonely, I’ll be your friend.” As the boy gently stroked the siren’s silky hair, Shen Jiu decided that lunging up to bite wasn’t worth losing the treat in his mouth. It was okay to stay like this, just for a little while.

Chapter III
⚠️ Implied SA ⚠️
First
He came back. He came back. He came back. He came back. He came back. Gege came for me.
That's all that is currently running on Shen Yuan's mind. A constant stream of "Gege came back for me" and "He saved me" drowning anything else.
"Hehehe..." little giggles escape him as he looks at the other carrying the demonic cultivator as if he weighed nothing at all, grumbling about having left the cart and horse too far from the illicit encampment where the auction was being held at. Gege is so cute. All grumpy as he is.
Shen Yuan is honestly riding such a high right now. Head cottony and heavy, but unbelievably light at the same time. Is blood even getting to his head? Does he even care anymore.
He was so scared.
The guards in charge of the slaves were already taking liberties with the... women. Some more girl than woman. And one or two kept giving him looks. The same looks that Shifu's friends would give him, that intent that makes him want to shed his skin, burn it, and wash the ashes in the river.
He... knows, alright? He already knows men find him pretty enough. He knows what those looks mean. He also knows where to kick and where to stab to make them stop. But the fear reflex never leaves, neither do the nightmares.
But he was unarmed. They took his knifes and his poisons and his cultivation! He was prey again. Was vulnerable and scared like before. Before he managed to trick Shifu into training him and letting him keep weapons at all. What is the use of cultivation if he is helpless at the mere presence of a fucking rope?
...But Gege came for him.
Shifu used to make fun of him with that. Laughing and laughing at how not even his twin wanted him, not even his parents.
Poor little orphaned slave; couldn't save anyone, not even his mother, nor his brother, nor his sister.
"Why did you stop walking. Come here and be useful." Gege quips, and it takes him back to reality enough to notice they are in a little clearing. Completely surrounded by trees, a simple horse-pulled cart waits for them with said horse tied to a tree a little ways off the side. It's brown, with white spots and appears to be calmly eating the fresh grass. Shen Yuan is immediately smitten.
"Cute!" He doesn't even aknowledge Gege's orders to not move and don't touch things because he is already across the clearing, offering his hand to the horse to sniff at. He- She? Is so cute and calm, already letting him caress her muzzle affectionately. "Such a good girl. So tranquil and elegant. What pretty lashes you have."
"I just fucking told you to not touch anything." Gege walked swiftly to where Shen Yuan was getting to know the mare, taking her reins brusquely to walk her back to the cart. He doesn't even look at Shen Yuan, hasn't for a while.
It's fine, Shen Yuan knows Gege doesn't want him -no one does. He is useful. Nothing more, nothing less. Gege wants to know about his past and probably will kick him out of his sect after he gets it and that's ok. Why would Gege keep him anyways? Shen Yuan may have a little cultivation but he could bet a novice disciple of one of those fancy sects could kick his ass in seconds!
And that is seriously fine. Shen Yuan has a plan after all. He just thought of it but a plan is a plan!
He just needs to find a way to be useful a little longer. He has maybe 4 memories about their mother and that'll last him maybe a week if he reveals them bit by bit. After that he needs something else to get Gege to keep him a little while longer, but it's definitely a start.
If he can get Gege to get attached to him maybe Shen Yuan can even see him once in a while! Maybe Gege's sect needs servants? He knows how to do that. Perhaps he isn't a great cook but cleaning is easy enough, he's been doing it for decades after all.
"Get on."
Shen Yuan is starting to notice Gege is very bossy.
He doubts Gege will want him to sit next to him on the driver's seat, so Shen Yuan climbs onto the cart from behind. Maybe he steps on the demonic guy's dick, maybe not. It's not like he can protest anyways. Shen Yuan sits as close as he can to his brother without touching him.
"Ready." Gege doesn't answers, but Shen Yuan is starting to guess their first conversation was the outlier and his brother actually talks very little.

Yue Qingyuan's trauma explains so much of his...everything, to me.
But I often come across people wondering why he didn't just tell Shen Jiu the truth. So here are the parts of the book that make me think trauma played a role in his silence.
From the scene where they first reunite:
Yue Qingyuan looked excited, his face flushed as he prepared to speak. But Shen Jiu opened fire first. “You joined Cang Qiong Mountain?” Shen Jiu couldn’t tell what Yue Qingyuan was thinking, but the excitement on his face faded a little. Indeed, his complexion paled. “You’ve become Qiong Ding Peak’s head disciple? Not bad,” said Shen Jiu. “Why didn’t you come back to look for me?” “I…” Shen Jiu waited for some time, but the next words never came. So he said, “Why aren’t you saying anything? I’m still waiting. I’ve already waited so many years, after all. Waiting a little longer will be nothing.” But how could Yue Qingyuan say anything? Shen Jiu crossed his arms. Finally, his waiting was rewarded with Yue Qingyuan’s quiet words: “Sorry. It’s Qi-ge who let you down.”
From the scene in the Lingxi Caves, where YQY helps SQQ through a qi deviation:
Shen Qingqiu suddenly felt that something was off about the hand Yue Qingyuan had on his back. Alarmed, he said, “What’s wrong?” It was a long moment before Yue Qingyuan replied. “Nothing.” Shen Qingqiu shut up. He couldn’t see Yue Qingyuan’s expression where he stood behind him, but he could feel the hand passing him spiritual energy, and how it trembled slightly.
YQY is a calm and composed sort of guy, so I interpret these subtle emotional cues (his face paling, his hands shaking, his long moments of silence) as signs of internal distress whenever he has to remember his qi deviation.
SQQ is also the one who tends to disengage from conversations with YQY. SQQ removing himself from stressful situations is...far from the worst coping mechanism found in Scum Villain, to be fair. His distrust towards YQY is understandable from his perspective.
But still, it makes it difficult for them to have deep and personal conversations.
There's also this part of YQY's confession to Shen Yuan, and I think it shows some insight into his thought process:
“Just let me finish speaking, this one time,” Yue Qingyuan said resolutely. “As you always say, ‘sorry’ is nothing but an empty word, completely useless. I also never explained myself, but today I must let you hear, not to ask for your forgiveness or sympathy, but because if I don’t say it now…it will be too late.”
To me, the bit about "forgiveness" and "sympathy" implies that YQY is worried that revealing the truth is a selfish impulse. He doesn't want to confess the truth if it just means he's begging for pity...because he doesn't think he deserves pity.

Posting about my reread like this in an attempt to help me remember some of these small details... I am quite bad at remembering things from the beginning of a book by the end of it, partially because small, easily overlooked details often become far more meaningful and therefore memorable on the reread.
Some quotes and thoughts on Binghe's birth + adoption, Tianlang-Jun, Su Xiyan, and the poor, unnamed washerwoman:
"Immediately after birth, Luo Binghe was abandoned by his parents, swaddled in white cloth, and put in a wooden basin that was lowered into the Luo River. This occurred on the coldest days of the year, and it was only thanks to fishermen pulling him out of the water that he didn't freeze to death as a baby. Because he'd been drifting along the Luo in the season when it was choked with thin ice, he was given the name Luo Binghe.
Luo Binghe spent his early years wandering the streets, hungry and cold - a dreary childhood. A washerwoman who worked for a wealthy family took pity on him, and since he had no children of her own, she adopted and raised him as her own. Mother and son were poor, and they suffered much humiliation at the hands of their rich patrons." - Chapter 1, pages 9-10
"As it turned out, Luo Binghe had been born to the Demon Realm's Saintly Ruler and a woman of the Human Realm; within his veins flowed the blood of the ancient, heaven-fallen demons as well as that of the human race. His father, Tianlang-Jun, had been sealed beneath a great mountain, trapped for all eternity. His birth mother had been a disciple from a righteous cultivation sect, but shortly following Tianlang-Jun's dealing, she had been expelled on suspicion of having secret ties to demons. She had died from a postpartum hemorrhage after giving birth to Luo Binghe, but prior to her death, she had set her son adrift from the lonely ship she'd birthed him on. It was the only way she had been able to give Luo Binghe a chance to survive." - Chapter 1, page 11
I view a lot of these small details as somewhat flexible, with the different levels of unreliable narration going on. We are being told these things by Shen Yuan, who may be misremembering these details (as any reader, myself definitely included, does), and who read them as told by Airplane, who may have retconned prior details as he came up with new ideas, forgotten small details as he wrote millions of words, or was just lying in the narration for later reveals that never came to fruition. Shen Yuan may have also been reading dialogue between characters who also didn't know what they were talking about or were lying to each other.
So, I can do what I want with a lot of this, I feel! Shen Yuan doesn't necessarily know what he's talking about here. (More details will be revealed later on, I remember, and I will be looking out for them.)
Interesting things to remember here! Tianlang-Jun was apparently probably sealed during the winter, maybe late autumn at the earliest, which was probably unpleasant for snake demon Zhuzhi-Lang. I'm currently imagining Tianlang-Jun leaving his nephew to essentially hibernate somewhere to avoid the weather, promising to stay out of trouble (actually planning to meet up with Su Xiyan), and then just not coming back.
Su Xiyan apparently gave birth to Binghe on a ship! That's interesting. I had forgotten that detail if I ever took note of it.
I knew that the book implies here that Binghe was found by the washerwoman a little later into his childhood, but I'd forgotten the fishermen detail. I usually intentionally ignore this and just go with the washerwoman finding Binghe (which is what the animated show did, I think), because if Binghe was honestly "immediately" abandoned by Su Xiyan, then he would have been a newborn! Someone HAD to have been looking after him. This is one of my pet peeves in fiction: Binghe HAD to have been breastfed by someone OR this world must have an equivalent to baby formula for him to survive. (This is the main reason I conceptualized Luo Jiahui in PINTWILF as a young woman who had recently had a stillbirth, just so she could breastfeed this newborn baby.)
It's possible that Binghe had a series of caretakers who fell through before his adoption, leading to brief periods on the streets as a young child, and/or he did a lot of "wandering the streets" begging and scavenging AFTER his adoption by an extremely poor woman (and the sentences there are just a little out of order). Even if demon baby Binghe COULD survive on other food somehow, newborns can't... walk... or crawl... or lift their heads.
If I have to stick to what's written here as closely as possible, then I would go with the following interpretation: newborn Binghe being found by fishermen, who take him to town to see if anyone has lost or abandoned a child, or if anyone is willing to take one in. The only person to agree is this washerwoman. People in town possibly donate some means (baby formula equivalent, kinky plot device plant that kickstarts lactation) to feed this baby or cruelly tell the washerwoman the baby will die. Possibly, the washerwoman goes deeply into debt asking these rich patrons for the means to feed this baby. As Binghe grows up, he spends a lot of time on the streets, begging and scavenging to help his extremely poor adoptive mother. End mostly canonical interpretation.
If we wanted to get a little wild, we could also go with the interpretation that Shen Yuan is incorrect when he uses the word "immediately". Either he misinterpreted something Airplane wrote, or a character relayed information incorrectly in PIDW, or the SVSSS just formed differently to Shen Yuan's impression based on very vague information that Airplane may not have been keeping consistent.
Maybe Su Xiyan actually lived for several months on this ship after giving birth, creating the seals and somehow managing to feed her newborn child (the poison that killed her is a problem with breastfeeding here, but idk, maybe heavenly demon babies can drink blood for all we know, which is something Su Xiyan would know but the washerwoman would not), before setting Binghe adrift. Binghe would be too young to remember this time with his birth mother. I'll have to see what Wu Chen from Zhao Hua Temple says when I get to his explanation of what happened to Su Xiyan in the third book.

I’ve been thinking about the AU I setup in this post about Shang Qinghua and Shen Qingqiu getting stuck back in their old bodies for a little bit and getting a chance to write some changes into being (and say goodbye to Shen Yuan’s family). The rest of the context there isn’t really important for this post, but I implied that they’d find some vague way to help Bing-ge and I wanted to give how they helped him here.
So post the extras, Bing-ge is left in his world with only the memory of a nice shizun and an understanding that he’s miserable but no idea how to change things. But then one night, a figure reaches out to him in his dreams.
And of course he’s immediately suspicious. He controls his dreams and this figure isn’t something he understands. His close are weird and he’s wearing something strange on his eyes, but when he looks into those eyes, they look just like nice shizun’s.
And the figure reached out to him and says he’s sorry that he doesn’t have a better answer. He says he and Airplane tried, but that idiot could only work so many miracles with the shitty story he wrote, so they were a little limited. He says that Bing-ge doesn’t have to take his offer, but he hopes he will.
And Bing-ge is confused and demands to know what he’s talking about. But the figure just says that if Bing-ge takes his offer, he’ll lose his powers, immortality, and even cultivation. He’ll end up weak and ordinary, but he’ll get a second chance at life.
And Bing-ge asks why he has to go away and sacrifice to get anything. He says he knows the figure is nice shizun and asks why he can’t just choose him and stay by his side, but the figure just pulls him in close and apologizes and says he’s sorry he can’t do more for him, but he says that he’ll be sending Bing-ge to a grieving family who would have just lost their son. He says to tell them Shen Yuan sent him and they’d understand.
And Bing-ge is scared and confused in a way he hasn’t been in many, many years but nice shizun keeps hugging him, so he reluctantly agrees. And suddenly a bright light flashes around him and his head begins to spin. And as the world is fading, he hears nice shizun yell to him not to flirt with his sister.
And then he wakes up and feels weak and disoriented. His core and demonic powers are both gone and he’s in a strange room with all sorts of strange, glowing objects. Then a tall, beautiful man rushes in and demands to know who he is.
And when he says he’s Lou Binghe and Shen Yuan sent him, the man collapses to the ground and hugs him and cries that his brother is really gone, but he’s glad this means he’s safe. And Lou Binghe doesn’t understand, but the man’s arms are warm, so he collapses into them.
And over the next few months, he learns more about the world. He reads the novel Proud Immortal Demon Way and finally understands just how lost he was. He reads the extras Airplane and Cucumber published while here, learning the truth about Shen Qingqiu and why he was the way he was. And Lou Binghe can’t bring himself to forgive him, but he’s glad he apparently didn’t leave the man to suffer for all eternity. And he laughs in delight when he learns about Shang Qinghua and Mobei-Jun and how apparently his stoic right hand has secretly always been a hopeless romantic.
And he reads the extra about himself and realizes that all it gave him was a single hand reaching out. And while that’s sort of scary, it also means that the kindness he’s found from Shen Yuan’s family wasn’t something forced into being, but rather a choice they make every single day.
And Lou Binghe vows to live this new life better and take advantage of the opportunity. And he also reaffirms his promise to Shen Yuan that he won’t flirt with his sister. Though fortunately, he never said anything about his eldest brother. And while this cool, elegant, beautiful man might not be Shen Qingqiu, he is certainly a Shen. And this one actually loves him in return.

Bro now I’m just laughing at the shen yuan post.
We are basically a strong a cultivator who probably beat a lot of evil spirits and we are just watching the laundry clean itself like a cat.
I honestly have more head cannons but I’m not good at analyzing a character.
Also I can’t help but think of that one meme but with Shen Yuan and reader.
“Excuse me! They asked for no pickles”.
Take breaks btw.
sjshhshdhd hehehe~ <333
SHEN YUAN is not the guy you would call 'strong-willed', meaning a quality that implies taking responsibility and making decisions for yourself and for others instead of "rational avoidance and redistribution of forces to more useful things" (reading novels, criticism to satisfy the need for an exchange of opinions and provoking people to 'think together' and physiological needs), but when you touchingly try to understand what type of modern food you like and how you should treat modern workers, including service characters, he finds himself incredibly motivated to 'protect' you with himself, adjusting his glasses, put his hands on his hips and confidently declare that THE ORDER WAS MADE INCORRECTLY, while you timidly stand behind his back (bonus points if you are taller than him) and then look away, then return, realizing the absurdity of the situation where a weak little mortal should help you need to make an order and communicate with people of today, because he clearly has more experience
(he does not) (he doesn't like to communicate with people in real life at all) (but he sees you and something clicks in him) (no, he's not a sIMP—)
and listen, SHEN YUAN is trying not to take everything personally or at your expense, but it's easier said than done — although it is you who make decisions where you two will go and saturate him with emotions and a meaningful desire to live, he always wants to take you by the hand or by the arm or even carry in his arms, hiding in his clothes like a precious cute thing that is shown with the words 'it's dangerous on the street, take them with you', only you he doesn't want to give you to anyone, and if you were such a thing, he would show you just to show off and show how cute and charming you are, while others can walk around and only desire you, period.
is he mean or smug?... maybe, BUT who else can boast that their spousefu came to them from nowhere, who likes to watch clothes being washed in a washing machine, watches an electric oven, likes to look at things in the smallest detail, does not understand anything and at the same time looks absolutely cute and knocking down from how stunning and precious they are? his skin is cleansed, his eyesight is getting better, he has a desire to live — just because you blessed him with trying to understand the concept of liquid soap (and soap in general) and ask 'what spells he uses to get a big and round popcorn from a small flat package by putting it in a strange buzzing device in which this does the packaging spin around in a yellowish glow less than a cup of tea is drunk?'
or while you're watching clothes being washed in the same dishwasher and then you get to know the concept of bags for clothes, capsules with liquid, different washing options,,,, SHEN YUAN is not the guy who sits in front of the washing machines, but he can't get up until you do it, sharing with you a few hours of watching that how clothes spin in a circle and then turn out to be clean,,,, and you don't know who's crazy — you, him or his whole world, but the result literally amazes you, from which he gives you a little tinkering with these clothes, studying what happened, even if he himself does not see anything special in it — but the shine of your eyes and a curious face is stronger than anything in this world.
he's a simp, he's such a simp, he's ready to buy you fast food every day and run laundry, he's so hopeless—
if you have headcanons, we are always happy to see them!!! and yes, thank you for your concern,,,,, I'm going to bed right now, since I have almost completely. I don't have much work left, so I thought I could do everything, but only now I realized that I really want to take a nap soon,,,,,, I hope you have a good rest too!!! don't forget to eat well, even in summer~ <3333

SVSSS Headcanon: As Parents Edition! Part 1
[TW/CW : Implied child abuse]
Shen Yuan (as Shen Qingqiu): He'd be extremely cautious at first, not knowing the first thing about parenting, especially the baby stage. He freaks out whenever the kid is crying but tries to act as cool as he can. He is a little strict when it comes to discipline but he never puts hands on his kid. He can tend to be controlling, but he's trying to work on stopping that. Yuan is frustrated and worried about explaining puberty to his kid and is going to sh!t bricks when they ask what sex is (he barely paid attention in sex ed, if he even had that class). He struggles with the relationships between him and his child during the teen stage, especially if their beliefs conflict. Yuan does feel really emotional when their kid moves out, he makes sure to visit his kid very often.
Luo Binghe: Things would be rocky at first, he doesn't really know what to do. He tries to think about how his adoptive mom treated him and he goes from there. He's never really interacted with a baby at all, so he seeks help from reading books. His discipline is strict and sometimes physical (which he tries not to do). His self-loathing unfortunately rubs off on his kid, giving them a bit of low self esteem. He isn't really there emotionally for his child because he doesn't exactly know the proper parent-child relationship. He would be caught by surprise when his child asks what sex is and doesn't even bother explaining what puberty is (he would just pull out a book and just tell them to read it). He gets super upset if his kid doesn't want to hang out with him and prefers to hang out with their friends, especially during their teen years. He feels worthless as a parent once his kid leaves the nest, so he tries to contact them, but they don't necessarily like him.
Yue Qingyuan: He would be an absolute natural at taking care of a baby. The baby and toddler stages are an absolute breeze. He documents his child's firsts and calls them the best thing in the world. His discipline is a little strict but he makes sure to be fair and square. He is also a natural at the teen stage, explaining any curious questions they have and being open with them. He tries his best to give his child the right amount of privacy and freedom with his friends in his teen years. He feels really sad when his kid moves out of the house but he enjoys the consistent visits and messages.

Can I ask from this ask game for BingYuan (all of the questions)? Thanks 🧁
https://www.tumblr.com/comingfromastatechampionasshole/119898100247?source=share
Send me a ship and a number and I'll tell you
1. Which one is the better cook
Binghe 100%. Shen Yuan was a spoiled rich kid and after Binghe fell into the abyss he just stopped eating... there's no way he knows how to toast bread
2. What their love letters look like
Love letters imply they're ever far enough to need to send each other letters... at most they'll be long texts Binghe sends rambling about how much he wuvs his hubby and would rather be at home than his stupid job as King 🙄 and Shen Yuan blushes and replies "Focus on work Binghe..." Then he waits for Binghe to get home and whine that sy was so cold to him so he can apologize with smooches
3. Which one outlives the other, and how they cope
I mean . We know how this goes. Corpse cuddles and trying to raise the dead
4.What they do on date night
Since Binghe is a hopeless romantic who never thought anyone would love him, I think he'd want to do stereotypically romantic and basic dates. They go to an ice rink and hold hands while they skate and he's vibrating with joy because he's living out his hallmark fantasies. Shen Yuan indulges him sooo much.. too much. He got a cold but it was worth it seeing Binghe's happy face
5. How many kids they'll have
I'm gonna say... two. One is through breeding kink gone too far, second is them seeing an orphan boy who reminds them so much of Binghe as a child and deciding they have to adopt him immediately
6. How they decorated their bedroom
Elegant and slightly minimalist. Shen Yuan has all his merch hidden away in his childhood bedroom at his parents house because he's thin faced... they stay over one night and Shen Yuan completely forgets his old room is a haven of his weeb shit and is mortified when Binghe sees his limited edition poster of a hunky male character naked holding a sword.
7 Which one is the worse driver
Shen Yuan by far... same reason as his cooking, he probably had a driver take him everywhere until Binghe showed up
8. What they argue about
Tumblr media
9. Which one swears more
Shen Yuan by a landslide. Binghe is a very intelligent and well read man and while the same holds true for Shen Yuan, if he goes 2 minutes without calling Airplane a dumfuck authour it's worrying
10. What TV shows they watch together, and which ones they hide from the other
Theyll watch anything together, even stuff they dont like so Binghe can listen to him rant about how much it sucks. Shen Yuan hides PIDW and all his other porn-for-plot interests but Binghe knows about them.
11. What their first impression was of each other
Shen Yuan impression of Binghe: beautiful and strong man
Binghe’s first impression of Shen Yuan: beautiful and kind man
(This never changes)
12. What they do for their anniversary
Regrets of Chunshan role-playing baby!!
13. Which makes a bigger deal of birthdays
Hmm. I'm gonna have to say both. Binghe cooks a feast and Shen Yuan dotes on him and fulfills any wish Binghe has.
14. What nicknames they call each other
Binghe: yuan-gege or laoshi
Shen Yuan: Bingmei (in his head only, he's too embarrassed to say it)
15. What they would change about each
If you ask them, Shen Yuan would say Binghe should have a smaller pillar... this is a lie. He can't go back to normal after getting used to Binghe stretching him so wide

Popular Danmei Character Tournament
CWs: demon mention, god/religion mention, fire mention, violence, abuse mention, sex mention, torture
Mobei-jun from Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System
Submission 1: Everything he says makes me laugh. I just think he’s neat.
Submission: 2: Beloved by God
Submission 3: Hoping for a Mobei Jun vs Shang Qinghua face off for the drama of it all
Luo Binghe’s subordinate as the ruler of the Mobei Clan of the Demon Realm who got beat up by Luo Binghe and then followed him forever ig (“the jet fuel to [Luo Binghe’s] flame” or his right-hand man)
Shang Qinghua, the transmigrated author of Proud Immortal Demon’s Way, wrote him as his ideal man (and Mobei-jun is his favorite character). After he saves Mobei-jun and defects to the demons, Mobei-jun tends to beat him up, which is the demon equivalent of flirting.
He thinks he’s doing a great job seducing Shang Qinghua who just Wants a Break. They somehow get into an actual relationship and have horrible s*x
“If I let you hit back, then will you not go?” - Mobei-jun to Shang Qinghua
Original Shen Qingqiu / Shen Jiu from Scum Villain’s Self-Saving System
The scum villain that the MC transmigrated into who harassed and abused Luo Binghe (the MC of PIDW) until he was later tortured and turned into a human stick
Is fucked up, but his past is genuinely tragic. I actually think about the fact that his inability to sleep around men leads to his reputation worsening so much as he sleeps at brothels a lot
Is misunderstood by literally every character - pretty much every peak lord (except Yue Qingyuan) was much happier when Shen Yuan replaced him and didn’t want Shen Qingqiu to “regain his memories”; even Proud Immortal Demon Way and Shen Yuan seem to say/imply that he “wanted to do” Ning Yingying, his favorite disciple that he genuinely viewed as a daughter
He’s just a very interesting character. He showcases both Shen Yuan's unreliability as a narrator and MXTX's continued themes of not truly knowing a character, especially off of rumors

It’s also funny that Shen Yuan implied becoming peak lord was easy with the help of demons, instead of SQH just sabotaging the other disciples
They're both such unreliable narrators that you can introduce basically any reality you want, but it's true that the Airplane Extras make so much of the main story hilarious in hindsight. It generally reads to me that Shang Qinghua is honestly good at his job. It is super funny to think that maybe the original goods needed to assassinate people to get ahead in PIDW, but Airplane Bro is probably college-educated possibly in a relevant field and apparently working hard enough that he accidentally skipped the need for murder.
Cucumberplane get in an argument about something and Shen Yuan goes, "Big words from someone who killed 33 people to become the peak lord!" (He remembers the exact line from PIDW, even!) And Shang Qinghua goes, "I did what now?"
Because, like, between the deaths of his fellow disiciple when meeting Mobei-Jun and all the deaths he's partially responsible for at the Immortal Alliance Conference, his hands aren't clean! Though he's kept it to accomplice levels! It's very alarming to be suddenly accused of additional murder he doesn't actually remember committing. Big "oh shit, my king, what did you do now???" moment.

Posting next part of sugar AU before going to bed; we’ll see if I still hate it tomorrow.
Luo Binghe had always hoped for this, had always known he’d have it some day, but all his waiting couldn’t prepare him for how happy having Shen-laoshi makes him.
It does make his mornings even harder. He had grown to resent Shen-laoshi’s tendency to rise late, but now that waking him up with wandering hands or a ravenous mouth could be on the table, it’s even worse. Luo Binghe would love to start his day with the taste of Shen Yuan lingering in his mouth and his moans fresh in his mind. Sadly, Shen Yuan doesn’t quite approve. The one time Luo Binghe tried, Shen Yuan had barely managed to keep his eyes open for a few seconds before falling back to sleep. Really, how had he managed to go to work like this?
By suffering from chronic lack of sleep. The lifestyle definitely hadn’t suited him. His current situation is just so much better in every way. Luo Binghe will certainly relish watching students return to class, knowing his laoshi won’t be accompanying them.
Not for now, at least. He’s not quite sure what Shen Yuan is planning for his own future. He doesn’t think his teacher has accepted him fully yet. Shen-laoshi is probably still thinking things through, considering whether to look for another job or returning to school.
Since Luo Binghe himself now has Shen Yuan in his house, in his bed and away from the high school he refuses to call his, he finds himself willing to be patient on this particular aspect. He will, instead, focus his campaign on another, probably more delicate, front. “The literature division is holding its executive retreat in two weeks. I’m expected to show up for a formal dinner.”
Shen Yuan lifts his eyes from the book he’s reading and winces. “I’m sorry Binghe has to deal with this.”
Shen-laoshi, thank you for the hook. “It would be much easier if Shen-laoshi were to accompany me.”
“No it wouldn’t. The pain of trying to explain away my presence would far outweigh its benefits.”
“What is there to explain? Executives are allowed to bring their significant other. So would I.”
Shen Yuan returns to his book. “Very funny.”
There is nothing funny with his request? “How is it funny?”
“Like Binghe could introduce me as his significant other.”
“Why not?”
Shen Yuan puts the book down on the table and gives him an incredulous look. “Do you want to tear your reputation to shreds? I don’t have anything against you being attracted to men, but I’m not the majority. It will hurt your business, and by extension, your employees’ livelihood. Not to mention any chance of me working in education ever again. It’s unfair, I know, but Binghe cannot make his preference public.”
Luo Binghe blinks, confused. “I don’t care about any of this? My first priority will always be Laoshi. Why would I care about how he affects the conglomerate? As long as it still generates enough money to support Shen-laoshi as he should be supported, which it will, even a huge hit would still leave me with more money than anyone would ever need, I don’t care what happens to it.”
“Binghe, you’d be the front page of every magazine, every website, every news show. Your life would be exposed to the public, every single moment scrutinised and published for all to see. So would mine, and that’s if someone doesn’t get into their head that I must have abused you when you were a minor, in which case I could be jailed. It’s not a question of caring. You cannot do this.”
“Shen-laoshi would never have taken advantage of me! He couldn’t even tell I had a crush on him!” No one would ever believe something this ridiculous!
“That doesn’t matter. Binghe, I gave you a lot of attention. You remained after class so many times I cannot remember all of them. Everyone knew you were my favorite student. Look at it from the outside. How could you explain you, stunningly handsome and just as rich, choosing me, a no-name teacher with neither of those qualities, beside the fact that I groomed you? At best, I’ll be labelled a pervert and a degenerate. You can’t tell anyone you don’t trust. You’d be ruining your life.”
Luo Binghe had always known that their marriage might not ever be recognised. He had been fine with going abroad to get married, and had already set up a few shell corporations to finance legal challenges to the current definition of marriage, but he knew the chances of those challenges succeeding were slim.
In the end, it didn’t really matter. The commitment did. He had lawyers ready to set up the legal situation as close to marriage as it could be as soon as Shen Yuan agreed to it.
He’d never considered he would have to keep their relationship private, especially not forever. He has nothing to be ashamed of. If anything, he wants to brag! Who wouldn’t be jealous of him?
But if it’s going to make his laoshi’s life this much harder, to the point that prison was a possibility…
The prospect is too terrifying to contemplate. “We can move.”
“I’m sorry?”
That’s a good idea! “If we live elsewhere, somewhere where it’s not an issue, it wouldn’t matter as much!” And it’s not like another country would care that Shen-Yuan used to be his teacher! How would they know?
“And you would manage your inherited, incredibly complex conglomerate from there? Your board is going to love this.”
“And I should care because?”
“This is ridiculous. Binghe needs to think those things through instead of living in a fantasy where everything works out perfectly! He needs to think about his position before he jeopardises it! And he needs to think about his legacy before throwing everything away for a man! Don’t you want children?”
“If Laoshi wants some, we can adopt or arrange for a surrogate. It’s not an issue.” He bets Shen-laoshi’s children would be adorable. Luo Binghe would never leave them alone.
“Your fellow socialites would never accept it!”
This is really quite a pointless fight. “Again, I could not care less. I’ve never wanted their approval, and I don’t need it. The only approval I’ve ever wanted is yours. You must have felt something similar, since you gave this world up to work the job you wanted.”
“It’s not the same thing! I didn’t, nor would I ever have, your status! I wasn’t even my parents’ heir! I have three other siblings! They didn’t need me around. Your corporation has no one but you to rely on.”
“It’s just a corporation. If it bothers you so much, I could easily sell all my shares, step down from my post and live off the wealth for the rest of our life.” It would have the advantage of leaving him with nothing but time to take care of his laoshi.
It would also feel like failure. He worked so hard to make himself into the kind of man his laoshi could be proud of, the result of his constant efforts. Giving it all up would leave a bad taste in his mouth.
He would still do it in a heartbeat if his laoshi requested it of him.
“That’s not what I…” Shen Yuan rises from the couch, walking around the room hurriedly. “I think I’ll never understand why you do what you do. Surely I’m not worth it. My family certainly wouldn’t think so.”
He wouldn’t say it, because he knows it wouldn’t go down well, but one of the reasons Luo Binghe had looked forward to going public had been to rub in said family’s face their abandoned son’s success.
Now, he just wants to do it more. “For myself, I’ll never understand why Shen-laoshi cannot see his own worth when it’s so evident to me.”
Shen Yuan stops, a barely visible embarrassed flush on his face that instantly distracts Luo Binghe from this unpleasant conversation. “Binghe can’t say things like that just to change the subject.”
He snorts. “I wasn’t. It’s just true. Maybe if I keep telling Shen-laoshi what a wonderful person he is, he will start believing it.”
He sees Shen Yuan shutting up as he grows more embarrassed.
Luo Binghe goes to pull him into his arms. “I just want Shen-laoshi to be happy. If he wants to remain private, that’s what we’ll do. Just give me some time to figure it out.” It’s not what he wanted, but it can’t all be what he wants all the time, can it? If anything, it might be a good sign. Shen Yuan barely implied the situation was his fault, and didn’t offer to leave to take care of it.
Shen-laoshi appears to melt into his embrace, hiding his face into his neck.
Luo Binghe still hasn’t developed a resistance to Shen-laoshi showing him any form of vulnerability or affection, not that he thinks he ever will. He discards the conversation for now in favor of returning said affection in the way he’s still getting used to.

in this house we go feral for worm art 10000% of the time and this is no exception, so please accept this small fic drabble inspired by this absolutely insane art 🙏
cw: implied vore -----
When Luo Binghe first meets Shen Yuan, Luo Binghe hasn’t eaten in a month. He isn’t sure how long his body can keep itself alive without eating, but he can’t risk eating the beasts in this part of the Abyss - their flesh is loose and hangs on their bones in a way that speaks of rot and disease. Luo Binghe could survive eating something like that, but it would put him out of commission for a day or so.
Besides, Luo Binghe is used to being hungry. He’s been hungry his whole life, in one way or another. Hunger is proof that Luo Binghe is still alive.
Shen Yuan worries more about Luo Binghe’s hunger than anything else, and more intensely than anyone who has only recently met Luo Binghe ever should. To Shen Yuan, Luo Binghe’s hunger is worse than the burns festering with infection on his feet, worse than the fingers on his left hand that haven’t grown back yet.
“You can’t heal those other things if you’re this hungry,” Shen Yuan stresses. “Please - you need to eat. Let me feed you.”
Luo Binghe can’t afford to trust any part of the Abyss that offers him respite. An oasis of fresh fruits and water will turn out to be an illusionary trap; a demon that offers a meal will just as surely turn out to have poisoned the meat.
Luo Binghe wants to take the poisoned flesh into himself anyway.
Oh, he’s been hungry all his life, but he’s never been hungry like this. It’s never burned him, never made him feel like life might not be worth living if he can’t partake in this meal. Luo Binghe has spent ages with an aching stomach, and has spent years starving for the touch of someone who cares for him, but this -
Luo Binghe has never been hungry for a person before.
“Please,” Shen Yuan says again, looking for all the world to be an innocent and earnest man, worried for his new friend. “Please, let me feed you.”
Shen Yuan cannot be an innocent man. Shen Yuan is a demon native to the Abyss - native to the place that Luo Binghe has been banished to - and so naturally Shen Yuan must be as awful as Luo Binghe himself is.
Even more damning, Shen Yuan has been begging to feed Luo Binghe for over a week, now - for as long as Shen Yuan has known him. Even before Luo Binghe had slain the beast that Shen Yuan had been hiding from, Shen Yuan had started asking if he could feed him. When Luo Binghe had rebuffed the obvious attempt to poison him, Shen Yuan had silently begun following Luo Binghe through the Abyss, chasing Luo Binghe with unasked for advice and superfluous compliments.
A week is not long enough for Luo Binghe to learn to trust someone. It is not long enough for Luo Binghe to think Shen Yuan does not mean to poison him, or lure him into a trap, or strike when he lets his guard down. It isn’t even long enough for Luo Binghe to begin believing that Shen Yuan really means the praise he lavishes on Luo Binghe.
It is enough time for Luo Binghe to become addicted to it anyway.
“Please,” Shen Yuan says, and he says it like a prayer, like Luo Binghe is worth praying for.
Shen Yuan is in front of him on his hands and knees, his head bowed, keeping a respectful distance. His hands are on Luo Binghe anyway: light touches to his cheeks and neck and feet, small pressures resting on his shoulders and his back.
This is the nature of the demon Shen Yuan is: the sort that can multiply.
Shen Yuan’s clones are significantly smaller than he is - only as tall as the length of Shen Yuan’s palm - but Shen Yuan has assured him that they share senses with Shen Yuan’s main body, and that Shen Yuan’s thoughts control their every moment.
They are also the food that Shen Yuan has begged to feed him.
“They’re safe for you to eat,” Shen Yuan insists. “Biologically, I’m not so different from a human, so they should taste the same as one. They may not have so much meat on them, but I can produce enough of them to fill you up anyway.”
One of the small clones tugs at Luo Binghe’s hair lightly. Luo Binghe knows without checking that it was unintentional; the clones seem almost obsessed with wrapping themselves in his hair, leaving small braids everywhere they can reach. Every part of Shen Yuan is obsessed with touching Luo Binghe in a million small and gentle ways.
Even when Luo Binghe is on guard against it, Shen Yuan’s manipulation is devastatingly effective. It’s harder and harder to remember that Shen Yuan cannot be trusted, when Shen Yuan touches him so sweetly.
“Will it hurt you permanently, if I eat them?” Luo Binghe asks.
He knows well enough it will hurt Shen Yuan temporarily. He only wants to know if it can be healed from.
“Not permanently,” Shen Yuan assures him. He looks especially eager at Luo Binghe’s questioning, thrilled that Luo Binghe has not instantly shot him down like he usually does. “I can produce this many of them every few days or so, as long as my main body is not terribly injured. I can keep you fed for as long as you need me.”
Luo Binghe hums, looking down at the tiny clones of Shen Yuan that are tugging at his robes, their small faces crumpled in distaste as they silently tut at the tears in his old disciple robes. There are perhaps ten of them, including the ones he can feel on his shoulders and in his hair. It’s only enough for a few mouthfuls.
Luo Binghe plucks one of them out from where it has climbed into his sleeve. It goes limp in his hand, letting itself be held and moved without resistance. It only looks up at Luo Binghe, smiling with the same dopey grin Shen Yuan’s main body wears when Luo Binghe lets him chatter about the beasts in the Abyss.
Luo Binghe pinches at its body, and its little face turns pink, its smile bashful. There isn’t much fat on it. Ten of these every few days won’t be enough to fill Luo Binghe up.
(Luo Binghe doesn’t think any amount of Shen Yuan could fill him up. He thinks he’ll be hungry for Shen Yuan forever, for as long as Shen Yuan keeps playing at being good and kind and perfect, for as long as Shen Yuan pretends to care for Luo Binghe.)
“Why,” Luo Binghe says, still pinching the small creature in his fingers, “do you want to feed me? Why should I believe your flesh isn’t poisonous to me?”
“Even if it is, would it matter?” Shen Yuan asks. “You’re immune to all poisons. You could start by just eating one if you’re worried; that little won’t be enough to weaken you so much that you couldn’t fight back if I suddenly attacked you.”
Luo Binghe licks his lips. If he gives in to this hunger, he won’t stop at just one. He wants to eat all of Shen Yuan - he wants to absorb Shen Yuan’s flesh into his until Luo Binghe is more Shen Yuan than he is himself. He wants to feed the addiction he has to Shen Yuan’s touch by turning his own touch into Shen Yuan’s.
He almost wishes he weren’t as immune to poisons as Shen Yuan says. He almost wishes to die by consuming Shen Yuan’s flesh.
“Why,” Luo Binghe says again, “do you want to feed me?”
Shen Yuan looks up at Luo Binghe, genuinely confused. “Why wouldn’t I? Why wouldn’t anyone?”
Luo Binghe shudders. He’s so, so hungry.
“No one has before,” Luo Binghe says.
“Everyone else has been a bitch,” Shen Yuan says, his eyes cold. “They’ll get what they deserve soon.”
Luo Binghe closes his eyes. He can hardly smell Shen Yuan over the sulfuric stench of the Abyss. He brings the small clone he’s holding up to his face, breathing in deeply.
It smells of salt, of sweat. Does Shen Yuan’s main body smell the same? Or would it smell more metallic, tainted with the blood that must surely be spilled when Shen Yuan tears a part of himself off to form a new clone?
“Alright,” Luo Binghe says. “Feed me, then.”
Shen Yuan does. Luo Binghe’s hunger does not abate.
