I was talking to my dad about antarctic exploration yesterday, and he said that Baron Adrien de Gerlache was the turn-of-the-20th-century equivalent of the OceanGate submarine morons.

Dave Cockrum's entries for Brainiac 5, Chameleon Boy, Sun Boy, Ultra Boy, Wildfire, Colossal Boy, Timber Wolf, and Shrinking Violet the Imperial Guard, the characters he created for X-Men, which were his analogs to the Legion of Super-Heroes, the feature that first brought him fame.

A few of us have thrown together a collab again in which Doc and Marty somehow prevent major historical events and, after realizing they screwed up the future, have to ensure those events happen. The collab is titled History's Gonna Change, and we each picked a different event!

One would be wrong. Doc and Marty certainly are. Notes: I had so much fun researching this. In case you couldn't tell. :)

that last post is basically all of mainline gundam seed. except not only do they not address the societal and structural problems, they keep replacing the CEOs of racism with more CEOs of racism and they dont stop to think about Why. but the anime racism in question is towards people who are products of eugenics, which is framed as a 100% good thing by the narrative and if you’re against eugenics or have problems with it in any way you’re a racist or insane. and the people that try to stop the racism against eugenics people are themselves treated as more villainous than the actual racists bc god forbid you rock the boat and Change Society For The Better, Because The Way Things Are Now Is Perfect (tm). and all of this is While the show is trying to posit themselves as media saying something Deep about race and wars and race wars. and this is putting aside the blatant colorism of dark skinned middle eastern coded minor characters getting saved by light skinned very clearly japanese main characters, one of whom is nicknamed the Goddess Of Victory by those dark skinned characters.
