" Impa felt her heart break once more, but it also spurred her to speak again, and she moved her hand from his back to his cheek, making him look at her. “I love you dearly, Link. And I… I will take care of you. All I ask is that you… you live. Please, love. If for nothing or no one else, for me. Just… just live.” "

HI HI HI
You should yell about the blorbo. I'd love to hear about some warriors HC's you have.
I also have a HC and I'd love to hear what you think about it.
I've always HC'ed Warriors as having an adoptive son/daughter. And I low-key see him as a princess dad. The man is totally dressing up for his daughter's tea parties in the castle with her best friend the queen.
Please yell about your blorbo, I want to hear about him. :DDDD
HI HI HI IVE BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION TO YELL AND YAP I SHALL!!!!
First of all: Yes absolutely. I headcanon Wars as on the ace spectrum, I don’t think that man is having biological children. I kinda see him as someone who would decide to NOT have children, because he doesn’t think it’d be fair of him to raise a child because he thinks he’s too mentally messed up for that (despite the fact that Time and Wind both turned out FINE), but one day he just ✨Acquires✨ a child and that’s just the end of it he’s a father now.
The specific headcanon I have for him regarding having kids is after the war, he does his best to help the areas of Hyrule that were just DESTROYED, and so many civilians lost their lives and orphanages were just overflowing, and he does his best to put money into those places to help out and he visits and tells the kids stories and makes sure they’re actually being treated well and helps them get families, and one day he just comes across this little girl who’s not counted for at any of the orphanages and her parents are gone, and he tries to get her set up in one but she’s just too attached to him and he’s got such a soft spot for kids he just adopts her because she was just so miserable there and kept begging the people at the orphanage to make him come back. And that’s his little girl now, she’s his princess he’d fight the entire war again in a heartbeat just for her. He absolutely dresses up for tea parties with her, he lets her do his hair and makeup, he’ll walk down the halls holding her hand while she skips and Zelda has never in her LIFE seen him so genuinely happy. He’s an absolutely WONDERFUL father, despite his own doubts in himself, and that little girl grows up with “Aunt Zel” and “Aunt Impa” teaching her how to kick ASS (plus Aunt Linkle, who’s her actual aunt being Link’s brother and all, and Linkle helps her befriend the cuckoos)
Other Wars headcanons I have!!:
- He has a significant amount of gray hair but you can’t see it because he bleaches and dyes his hair (I HC it’s naturally a very dark brown and also curly, but he straightens it)
- Writes his journals in his first language because it’s not a common one in Castle Town and it makes him feel better to know that if anyone DID get their hands on it, they’d at least be slowed down because they’d have to translate it
- His left hand shakes sometimes because of old injuries and overuse, and it’s not as strong as his right. Sometimes it’s hard for him to use his sword and shield because of it, so he’ll either use his sword with two hands for support or just use his fire rod
- He has quite a few scars on his face but he can either cover them COMPLETELY with makeup or make them look light enough to not be super jarring (depending on how deep the scars are)
- I HC he doesn’t like things up against his neck, so he’ll wear only tunics/shirts that are very low cut in the front and his scarf is pinned so securely in place that it is IMPOSSIBLE for him to be strangled with it unless the end was grabbed and THEN wrapped around his neck
- Not the world’s best cook. He can make comfort dishes from home his mom used to make for him, but not a whole lot of other things. He has memorized recipes and hasn’t tried too much with experimenting and making new ones
- High spice tolerance, but mentally he can’t handle it because it makes his tongue buzz and he’ll freak out and panic because he can’t tell if it’s spice or poison
- Autistic with lower support needs. He masks incredibly well but that doesn’t make him any less autistic and that doesn’t mean he still doesn’t struggle

More Warriors headcanons because I had a bunch of time to spare.
First off, his emotional support scarf is pretty much indestructible. Originally it was like very lightly magical  every time it would get cut or torn and they would repair it. The magic would strengthen to the point where that thing's pretty much indestructible now.
At the very beginning Warriors and mask did not like each other very much. He never wanted to be a single father in the middle of trying to fight a war but Impa decided for him. so he became a single father at 17.They grew to love each other as brothers within the next two months. After that they were sleeping in the same cot half the time from nightmares and we're willing to die for each other.
He dyes his hair. I've seen this headCanon around that he has brown hair so he dyed it blonde. My personal headcanon is he dyes it his natural color because he has  gray streaks in his hair, and that simply won't do.
He is fiercely protective of his hair. For the longest time he thought of his beauty as his value. Though he might have a little bit better of a mindset about it now, his obsession with his appearance didn't die out.
Warriors is in love with Zelda. He kissed her after he defeated Ganondorf; it was an impulsive decision and it surprised both of them. They weren't in love at that point; they had feelings for each other, but not much more than that.
He thought of himself as a war prize. For a lot of his life that's what he was, that's what Cia called him. That's what his soldiers called him. That became his identity. When The War ended he offered himself to Zelda. Reasoning she won the war she had earned him. He was confused when she refused to take him to bed with her. Explaining that he didn't owe her anything. It took him a while to understand that. In Zelda's opinion, she refused to be added to the already long list of his abusers.
He doesn't trust medics, enough of them try to kill him during the war while he was most vulnerable and injured. After all, destroy the war prize, end the war. a lot of people thought if they could just kill the captain Cia would stop. There are very few medics he actually trusts.
Mask and Tune accidentally called him Mom every once in a while and he would cry for the next 5 minutes. During the linked universe Time dared to do it and make it sound natural, lo and behold Warriors cried for the next 5  minutes.
He was super chill with Wolfie. Twilight took to comforting Warriors as Wolfie instead of Hylian form, because Warriors responded better to the presence of a wolf then he did to another Hylian.
Twilight does not take kindly to how thin Warriors is. Since the captain is so severely underweight especially for his height Twilight is very worried for him, but he doesn't understand how eating disorders work and anxiety of being poisoned makes it so hard to eat. so Wolfie kind of became a medical alert dog for warriors if he didn't eat that day or hadn't eaten enough. Twilight would bring it up or, (Pre-Wolfie reveal) as Wolfie would come up and just start rubbing his head against warriors's waist and stomach until someone got the point and made sure Warriors was fed.
That's all the ones I can think of off the top of my head right now let me know what you enjoy more: the head Cannon lists or the short story style of writing.

A Thousand Ways
Chapter 14: "Passing Through"
Linkle and Warriors would 100% rp royalty as kids and Legend and Hyrule are theatre kids... also, the ballad didn't work.

Read On AO3
----
"So, is she staying with us?" Wild asked after they took out the monster camp with Linkle's help. Her mere presence had set Warriors off and the two were constantly bantering, more than any of the others ever did with each other and that was saying something.
At first, some of them were concerned, then they collectively realized that Warriors was more relaxed than they almost had ever seen him. It really showed when the fight began, and Linkle and Wars basically handled the entire thing. They fought together incredibly well, Linkle using crossbows and Piyoko--Legend was surprised at how attached Piyoko was to Linkle, she adored the heroine who loved her in return--as weapons, Piyoko definitely had the time of her life, while Warriors used his sword and shield to control the entire camp with ease... with the exception of the couple black bloods that Legend and Hyrule, and Time and Wind handled
Honestly, Legend saw half their group just hanging back and he joined them in time to see both siblings gang up on a giant, and bring it down in record time.
Both were grinning at the end of it all, high-fiving and throwing insults at the other's form and battle choices.
"If she wants to," Warriors said in response to Wild's question. He shrugged. "I can't stop her if she does."
Linkle scooped up Piyoko into her arms. "I'd love to, goddesses know I miss this kind of thing, but I have to pass." She turned to Warriors. "One of us needs to stay back home, and tell Ma about that pretty little lie of yours."
"I told you--"
"Yeah yeah." Linkle waved him off. "Whatever. I'll tell her that it's a new development and her baby boy didn't lie to her face."
"I am literally a grown adult--With children!"
"Kids you adopted during the war so they wouldn't be sent to an orphanage don’t count."
"Hey!" Wind exclaimed.
"Rude," Time grunted.
Warriors gestured at them. "Does it look like we care? Why does Mom trust you more than me when my kids are actual children and not animals?"
"Because I have more than you, and they're better trained. Mask dyed Impa's hair green!"
Legend glanced at Hyrule, leaning over to whisper to him and Wild.
"Bets that Mask is the Old Man?"
"No way," Wild hissed back. "It's totally the sailor."
"Ma would side with me that actual kids are far harder to take care of than a flock of cuccos!" Warriors argued.
Linkle scowled. "You know what? Fine! I'll adopt two of my own!"
"Wha--You’re going to--"
Legend and Hyrule both broke when Linkle raised an eyebrow at them.
"Us?" Hyrule pointed at them.
Linkle nodded. "I like you two, besides, I bet you'd beat Mask and Tune."
"No way!" Wind piped up. "We'd kick their ass! Besides, you can't take the Vet, he's my baby brother."
Time snorted. "Wow, Sailor. I'm wounded."
"You’re my little brother, there's a difference," Wind huffed, "Apple's my baby brother and Aryll's my baby sister."
Legend staggered a bit as Hyrule hugged him and declared, "My little brother now!"
"Daaad!" Wind whined, pouting at Warriors.
Legend couldn't help but laugh. Warriors sighed and tried to barter with Linkle, who stood her ground about adopting him and Hyrule.
Wild leaned over. "Would you let her?"
Legend looked at Hyrule, they shrugged.
"Sure," Hyrule agreed.
"Only when we're in this era though," Legend added, thinking of Dusk. "I don’t want to deal with... having to explain that to anyone. If she really wants, then fine, but only legally binding here... I'll let her claim it whenever, if only so we can fight the Sailor and Old Man."
"Yeah," Hyrule smirked, arm still slung over his shoulders. "We'd totally win."
Linkle gestured at them while Warriors groaned.
"Ha! I win! Next time you guys show up here, I'll have the paperwork ready," she swore. "Okay?"
"I can't believe you three." Warriors threw his hands up, turning away.
"Okay," Hyrule told Linkle. "Are you our mom now? Or...?"
"Sure. Next time, I'll introduce you to my Ma as her better grandchildren."
"Rude! Link, why didn't you ever introduce us to your Mom?!" Wind demanded.
"I-I--" Warriors floundered.
Legend could honestly tell that Linkle had only actually offered to mess with Warriors, and if agreeing messed with the Captain and the Sailor? Well, he was all for that.
What kind of 'baby brother' would he be if he didn't take whatever opportunity he was presented with to mess with his apparent siblings?
The portal came during the walk back to town, which was less filled with Warriors and Linkle arguing, and more filled with Linkle questioning him and Hyrule about their lives 'as a good mother would.'
"Well!" Warriors said loudly, interrupting Hyrule and Legend explaining their era and how it was different from his era to Linkle. "As fun as it has been to see you again, my dear sister, we simply must be going now."
Legend snorted, he heard Wild and Four sharing giggles too. Twilight and Sky had taken up the rear of the group, and both seemed especially amused.
Linkle pouted. She wrapped her arms around Legend and Hyrule. "Oh must you, Captain?" She replied, losing every ounce of her country accent in replacement of a posh, castle town accent. "Oh Captain please, my sons are only children, you need not take them away to fight battles for a higher power. Please spare them. Look! They are no soldiers, nor squires training to be such, doest thou not see their fear at facing warfare?"
Oh she is amazing, Piyoko clucked, Link, your new mom is amazing and I love her.
Warriors' face hardened, but the mirth was clear and it was a conscious decision to help bolster Linkle's argument by pulling on every part of his self control and acting ability to play the part of a scared kid. Hyrule's shoulders stopped shaking from holding in laughter and a glance showed that his successor was an excellent actor too.
"The Queen's commands are clear, these boys are to march to battle and face against the dark horrors of time," Warriors declared.
"You monster!" Linkle cried dramatically, playing up her part of a scared mother despite not looking even barely old enough to be their mother. "Child stealer!"
"Okay, okay!" Twilight intervened, choking on laughter. "Even if this is entertainin', we really do needa go. So say bye t' yer Ma, Vet, Traveler, and let's go."
On one hand, he could just cut the act, on the other... Legend looked at Linkle, and he was definitely pouting and using everything he knew to appear scared. "Ma, I don’t want to go."
Hyrule couldn't hold it in anymore and he broke, grabbing his stomach and wheezing in his laughter. Warriors gaped at him, as if surprised he was a decent actor, while Linkle immediately hugged him.
"I know, I know," she held firm to her own act, "but you must." She pulled away and held his face, he grabbed her hands and could see how she was starting to struggle to keep character too. He really wanted to break. "Be strong, and filled with courage. You will find your way back home, I know it."
A beat passed before they both broke, and the entire area was filled with various forms of laughter, loud and boisterous, high and wheezy, contained and quiet, someone's sounded like a fairy's even and another's was carried by the wind itself it felt like.
Legend wiped a tear from his eye. For a moment, it felt like everything was actually okay. For a moment, he was just joking around with friends, pulling stupid jokes and teasing each other.
The next, he felt Piyoko brush his leg, and the reminder of why she was with him hit him. With that, came the reminder of everything that had happened in the last few months. He managed to not let his renewed realization show to strongly, the laughter slowly fizzled out and he lent down to pick up Piyoko.
Link? She sounded concerned. He'd seen her fight with Linkle, but also needed Linkle's aid at every moment. All Piyoko could truly do was distract, and blind if she was lucky. Unlike heroes who accidentally harm cuccoos, monsters had no qualms with smacking them from the sky and he had seen so many close calls in just one fight alone. Linkle was used to accounting for them and ensuring their safety, Legend wasn't and he didn't want to risk her safety to learn.
"Let's--"
"Linkle?" Legend looked at the older woman, she was Warriors' twin, wasn't she?
"Yeah?"
"Would you be willing to keep Piyoko?"
He heard several people freeze and inhale sharply. He wasn't sure exactly why.
Linkle frowned, crossing her arms. "Why?"
Warriors spoke up, instructing the others to go ahead and file through, to make sure they had their supplies and everything.
Link? Piyoko sounded hurt, though also concerned.
"I... She's a good fighter," Legend said, looking down at her in his arms. "One of my oldest companions, but... I don’t know how to fight with her, and I can't risk her in order to learn. More than that... You've mentioned you have a whole flock of your own, she's friendly and can assimilate, and... and Piyoko, we both know you prefer life on the farm rather than on the road. You also have said you love Linkle, if you’re both okay with it, I think this would be the best option for you."
Piyoko stared up at him, completely silent. He could almost feel her hurt, but the way she wasn't immediately pecking him and telling him he was an idiot--like she had when he suggested she stay with one of the farmers in Kakariko with the other cuccoos--meant he was right and she actually was considering it.
A part of him wanted to take his words back, to keep Piyoko with him. She'd been there in Holodrum, had always been someone he could trust. Din, he'd called her his emotional support animal for all the times he'd vent and she'd offer insight. But he also knew that no matter how much he wanted to cling to before--before his grandparents, before that cell, those days where he could feel his body wasting in that cave--and how Piyoko was a reminder of that, of days between adventures at his grandparents farm, of the lightness in Holodrum, of safety and warmth and peace... she was still a farm animal, and he wouldn't choose his own mental security over her physical safety. Not in a million years. Not ever.
If she's okay with it, Piyoko conceded, almost surprisingly so.
Linkle held her arm out and Piyoko jumped to her, wings flapping to aid the transfer.
"I'll take good care of her, visit when you can," while he can, Linkle gave him a pointed look.
He nodded. "Of course... Later, Piyoko."
...bye Link. Be safe.
"When am I not?"
Warriors and Twilight were the only ones waiting left, as per usual, the local Link would be the last to enter the portal. Legend left with Twilight, and everyone waited a few minutes longer before Warriors came through and it shut behind them.
During his watch, Legend watched the sun rise against all odds, and sure, astronomers of his era had determined the world to be a sphere and to revolve around the sun, but did he particularly care for that detail? No. The sun rose, that's why they called it a sunrise.
There were a million things he could think about.
Raven, how his ancestor not only was the grandson of the Fallen Hero, but how the people seemed to regard the Fallen Hero and in turn how they treated Raven... and what he did in spite of it. Additionally, just the fact that he'd never see Raven again... again. That's the second time he's lost the one man he's considered a parental figure, his uncle had been great but he... there was something there, he was always his uncle, never quite a father figure.
The fact he can't seem to die. That cell, he didn't look over to see the blood but he knew that no person should've survived what he did, and he didn't know how. But maybe Dusk had some special method of saving his life. Then the cave... the island and storms... he had been sick, so sick he couldn't move and didn't eat for days, he knew now he shouldn't have survived that--learning how long they'd been in the Sailor's era and the Traveler's era right afterwards--and yet, he did. He didn't know what Marley and Raven did either, but they didn't have access to things that would've done anything special.
He knew he should've died in that cell, he was certain of that fact, but that portal had come at the perfect time... More than that, the portal had come to that cave and had to of dropped Legend right on Raven in order for him to have survived that too.
He knew the goddesses wasn't done with him, this was just further proof of that.
Or... he glanced at the back of his left hand. Maybe my ancestry plays a larger part in that survival.
Three people here were his ancestors.
Sky was the easiest to place and yet the hardest to come to terms with. Sky was from before the timeline got chaotic, the line from him to Legend was straight and simple. He was the easiest to understand and yet... how was he, Legend, a descendant of the goddess, and by extension, royalty?
Time was probably the easiest to come to terms with, his was a bit weird with the timeline and parallel worlds, but it was comprehensible. Time was the Fallen Hero, Legend had figured that out, Twilight's Hero of Time was from the exact same time as the Fallen Hero, the history books claimed him to have done the same things as the Fallen Hero... only he succeeded in the end. It was weird, but Legend could understand it. He knew Raven was his ancestor, and he now knew Raven's grandfather was the Fallen Hero. So sure, Time wasn't his ancestor, but in a weird parallel timeline way, he was. That was simple.
What wasn't simple was Twilight, what wasn't easy to come to terms with was Twilight. Because if they were related, it was confusing.
Legend knew exactly four things about his father: one, he was younger than his uncle, two, he looked almost nothing like his uncle aside from the bare minimum sibling similarities, three, his name had been Link and Legend was named after him, and four, he died around the same time Legend had been born.
Now, that paired with the fact that his uncle Alphon was his uncle, would lead one to assume that Twilight--well his parallel self in Legend's timeline--was his father. Easy, simple, timeline shenanigans makes it confusing but only a little more than Time.
Except that Legend has met Dusk and her two children, the children that are the parallels to him and Fable. He knows who their father is, and the problem is that their father is Alphon and Legend knows his father isn't Uncle Alphon.
That's the confusing part. Legend genuinely doesn't know how to place Twilight, his best conclusion is that Dusk and Twilight had some other variable that kept them from falling in love or at least having two kids that Legend's parents didn't. And knowing that Fable's counterpart was born... roughly two years after Twilight's adventure, meant that variable was probably related to his adventure.
But, how did Dusk's daughter look so identical to Fable if she had a different father, who bared little resemblance to Twilight?
"Honestly, couldn't some part of my life been simple?" He muttered. He wished Piyoko was here--she's safer with Linkle.
"Did you say something?" Wild looked up from the breakfast he was working on.
"No, just thinking. Need a hand with that?"
The moment Legend opened his eyes, he knew things were wrong.
He shot up and almost expected to see lapping waves and hear cawing seagulls, only to see a familiar forest.
"What the..." he breathed, pushing himself to stand as he looked around. He dug out his ocarina and tried to play the Ballad of the Wind Fish.
The song reverberated in the forest—which it shouldn't have, the notes should've just expanded further—and thrummed all around him.
Nothing changed though. He almost began again when he heard a bush rustle.
He moved quickly, drawing his sword only to see a man rush through the small clearing to kneel by a tree. He put something inside it before quickly shoving his cloak into some sling at his chest.
“Excuse me?” Legend called, wary. He reached for the man’s shoulder.
Yelling caught his attention, familiar yelling. He tensed as he shifted his stance, the man shot up quickly.
“This way!”
“Find him!”
A squad of knights burst from the same direction the man had come from. The man moved past Legend in a way that should have bumped his shoulder, but he just went through him.
The realization near smacked him in the face.
This was a vision, he had some of those when he was younger but ever since Koholint he couldn’t differentiate them from dreams. He was seeing some scene, past, present, or future, and he couldn’t intervene. So he observed.
The cloak had been hiding a forest green tunic lined in golds, a golden crown, though Legend couldn't quite see his face from his angle.
“Stand down,” the leading knight commanded, and Legend froze when he saw that familiar glaze in the equally familiar knight’s eyes. “We only wish to kill the boy.”
“Over my dead body,” the man snarled, Legend felt a flash of familiarity at the voice.
“So be it.”
He swallowed thickly. What being had dragged him into some hell where his main torturer, visibly decades younger, was facing a younger and more composed Twilight?
Time grabbed Twilight’s arm and pulled him back. “We’re only observers, Pup.”
“He can’t see us,” Twilight croaked.
Hyrule was waving a hand in front of Legend’s face, but their scholar didn't even notice. Time didn't know how exactly, but they were all sharing some kind of vision, except Legend was separate from them. He blamed the goddesses.
“There’s a baby here!” Wind exclaimed from where he and Four had investigated the tree the nobleman had been knelt by.
Wild suddenly yelped loudly, grabbing Twilight’s arm as he jumped back.
Time turned to look at what startled the Cub, and only due to his earned dark vision, could he see the nobleman's face. The darkness of the snowstorm overhead didn't help, but his face was very clear.
Though it lacked tattoos and scars, it was undoubtedly their rancher, or someone closely related to him. His jaw the same shape, his nose and eyes, the way Time could almost feel a connection to him...
Time tightened his grip on his pup as he felt him go rigid beside him. The man in front of them wasn’t much of a man, maybe Sky’s age, younger than Twilight at least.
“What in Hylia’s…” Sky breathed.
The lookalike cut down two of the knights before an arrow lodged into his bicep. He didn’t cry out and only barely switched his sword to his other hand to block another blade. Time didn’t know what they were meant to be seeing; between the alleged baby in the tree behind them, the young man fighting to save both their lives, and Legend’s exclusion from them.
Time felt his blood go cold as a blade sank through the bundle on the young man’s chest, and then through his chest too. He could see the sword protruding from the man's back.
“NO!” Wild screamed.
Twilight lunged to catch him and pull him back, Time pulled both back as he listened to Twilight promise Wild that it wasn’t him. Wind cried out too, and Warriors was quick to pull him and Hyrule to him as they watched the young man snarl, baring slight fangs. The young man swung his sword desperately, and it knocked the knight’s helmet off, but did little other damage.
“Agahnim will fail,” he swore, “you’ll fail.”
The knight laughed; Sky suddenly made a horrified noise upon seeing the knight’s face.
“With that brat dead, he will prevail,” the knight sneered. “With you out of the way, that wife of yours will be easy pickings, king.”
The knight shoved the noble off his sword, the man fell back and into the snow.
In a reminder that Legend was completely separate from them, the veteran shot forward, dropping to his knees beside the nobleman.
“No, no, no—” Legend said as the knights all laughed. They boasted to one another, cheered how Agahnim would be pleased, and left the nobleman to die. “Don’t tell me—”
“No--Kit, it’s not him, it's not the Rancher,“ Sky tried as the young nobleman struggled to breathe, blood slipping from his mouth.
Time hated to see it, that was his pup—in look, at least—who was dying on the forest floor. It was that inn all over again.
A ripple of violet wrapped around their scholar for a moment, and just in time, Legend’s hand landed on the young man’s chest.
“He touched him!” Four gasped, voicing what Time knew they all were thinking. This was a vision, a dream, how could Legend interact with it like that?
“Who…” the man murmured, frowning and his brows knitting together in a way that Time could only see Twilight, could only see his descendent laying there.
“Wait—I have a fairy,” Legend shoved his hand into his pouch. “It’s going to be alright—You’ll be fine, you’ll get out of this—”
“Yer him,” the man slurred, and Great Forests, he even sounded like Twilight. “I… I got’ta see… ya grown up…”
Time held his pup a bit tighter as they all stared at the scene.
Legend made a strangled noise. “No, no, no—Where is that damn fairy?!” He suddenly froze as the man raised a bloodied hand to his cheek. “W-What--”
“If yer here…” the young man said, “s’means… yer not changin’ it… are ya?”
Time did not know their acclaimed Veteran Hero to be fragile, yet in that moment he looked like breaking glass.
“I can’t, can I?” He responded, voice breaking. He didn't sound his years either. “I’m sorry—I’ll fix it though! I—Agahnim doesn’t win! I stopped him, and-and I—I saved Zel—She’s—She’s okay too. You—You’re okay—You don’t have to worry.”
It hit him: Legend wasn’t seeing Twilight.
“I know… ya got the look of a hero… jus’ like y’r ancestors.” The young man smiled just as his hand slipped down from Legend’s face, leaving a line of blood down it. “I’m… ‘m proud.”
Legend caught his hand but otherwise didn’t move, his mouth moved as if to speak but no sound emerged.
“What the hell?” Warriors breathed.
“Is he okay?” Wind whispered, daring to try and touch Legend again while the veteran just stared at the dead man in front of him.
“I don’t—” Twilight choked out, “he’s not okay—Ordona, please.”
Wind’s hand went through Legend again.
A call caught their attention. Legend’s head jerked to the side toward the wider forest. He scrambled to his feet as that purple wisp wrapped around him again and the call grew clearer.
“Link!” All their heads turned toward the older woman. She was followed by an older man carrying a lantern, just outside the area. “Link! Baby, we came! Where are…”
“Leanne,” the man grabbed her arm, staring in their direction. “Is that…”
She pushed branches aside and entered the area, Twilight made a strangled noise while Legend, who saw them too, let out a pained cry as he dropped back to his knees.
The woman rushed to the body on the ground, her hand brushing through Legend’s shoulder and half of Sky’s body as he failed to get out of the way quick enough.
She let out a horrid scream, one worse than any redead Time had ever heard, a cry of pain deeper than any injury, than any sword wound.
“LINK! NO! GODDESSES NO! NOT MY BABY!” She screamed, falling to the ground beside the dead man.
She screamed and sobbed and begged the goddesses not to take her child, her husband kneeling beside her and placing his hand on his son’s leg, eyes slipping shut.
Time couldn’t move, her cries froze him to his place, and it seemed all of them had the same reaction, except for their veteran.
Legend, with visible tears streaming down his cheeks, rushed over to the grieving couple and dropped beside the woman.
“Gran—Gran, please stop crying,” Legend begged, and Time felt the pieces click into place. At that same moment, Twilight fell to the ground just beside Time. Wild made a worried noise as he dropped beside the Rancher. “Gran, please, it’s okay, I’m so sorry—Look! Gran, look at him, he’s smiling. Gran please, don’t cry. I’ll fix it, I will.”
He sounded like a child, he sounded like Time when he had begged Navi not to leave, he sounded desperate and broken and like he just wanted to fix the one thing he had left.
“We shouldn’t be seeing this,” Four said, stepping back. “We’re not supposed to be seeing this.”
The woman faltered, her hand lowered to the man’s face and brushed his cheek, tugging the smile that had remained when his spirit moved on.
“My baby,” she sobbed, her cries quieting. “My baby boy.”
Another kind of cry caught all their attention, in the hollow of a tree came the sound of a crying infant.
“Oh,” Legend breathed. “That’s how…” He let out a pained laugh for seemingly no reason.
The old couple both went to the tree, and the woman cooed, it was strained and a bit painful, as she scooped an infant wrapped in royal blue from the hollow.
Time stumbled as the world suddenly jerked beneath their feet.

Who are your favorite underrated ticklees? like characters you think should have more tickling art/fics about them?
Oh, now you’ve done it. You’ve unleashed a tangent. 😂 Buckle up, kids; this word-and-picture vomit is gonna take a while. All 30 slots gettin' used up on this one.
UNDERRATED LEES
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let’s start with Avatar. When the second movie came out I went through a bit of a phase…half the characters in it could go here. The whole Sully clan. The Na’vi are perfectly sculpted ‘lee material - their long bellies, the ribs, the feet - and NOBODY TAKES ADVANTAGE OF IT.
(Literally just think of all the tickle torture they get up to)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Moving on to anime, Studio Ghibli is packed with characters who deserve more tickle attention. My favorites have gotta be Ursula from Kiki’s Delivery Service (I really wanna see content with her, Kiki & Tombo together), Lisa from Ponyo, Fio Piccolo from Porco Rosso, and Young Kiriko from The Boy and the Heron.
(I could watch that gif of Ursula wiggling her toes for the rest of my life)
Tumblr media
I'm also a fan of this girl Pipirika from Magi: Adventures of Sinbad. Not sure why. I don't even watch the show.
Tumblr media
Then there’s Suki from the other Avatar. Less-popular character in a popular fandom. Crowded out by the rest of the Gaang.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Victoria and Mr. Mistoffelees from Cats 2019. SHUT UP I DON’T CARE WHAT YOU THINK 😖
VICTORIA IS SO PRETTY AND SWEET AND PURE AND THE WAY THEY NUZZLE EACH OTHER AND THIS WHOLE MOVIE IS TICKLE-CODED
I'M NOT A FURRY
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Vi and Caitlyn from Arcane/League of Legends. That show (and this pairing) is massively popular online, they are insanely hot together, so WHY is no one making tk content except me? HMMM? These bitches are ticklish as hell and they deserve this.
It’s. Not. FAIR. I am so thirsty for CaitVi content in the leadup to Season 2 the inside of my mouth looks like the Atreides family is going to set up a base camp and harvest exotic spice from the back of my uvula.
Tumblr media
Art3mis from Ready Player One. Book Twitter has seemingly made it their life’s mission to demonize Ernest Cline and anyone who loves the novel/movie, so fan content is already a little thin on the ground as it is. But she needs to be put in a tickle machine, stat.
Tumblr media
Ben & Gwen Tennyson. OG series; none of that reboot horsehockey. They fight and antagonize each other so much I’m genuinely surprised there was never a tickle torture moment in the show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
From the Nintendo side of things, Imma go with two underappreciated gothic sorceress baddies (Veran from Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Medusa from Kid Icarus Uprising). I'm also very fond of the various "hot ninja lady" iterations of Impa, particularly her orange-and-black ensemble from Skyward Sword.
And both Wii Fit Trainers.
Tumblr media
Red Savarin from the obscure Tail Concerto DS game Solatorobo: Red the Hunter. Never played it; he just looks insanely ticklish to me. You know, some characters you can just tell.
Still not a furry.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Let's see now, Disney/western animation...Kida, obviously. Robin Hood & Maid Marian, especially the latter. (I love her giggle so much.) Mowgli is more childhood wish-fulfillment on my part: that insane Jungle Book tickle scene messed me up, and each time my prepubescent self rewound the VHS tape, I played a game with my mind. I kept desperately believing/wishing that this time, it would be different: Baloo would get Mowgli back, or their tickle war would resume later. No such luck. It's about him & Baloo specifically.
Tumblr media
The 2004 iteration of Batgirl is my favorite one. Plus she's got a great laugh. XD
Tumblr media
The Spider-Verse movies continue to be a Tumblr phenomenon, and yet I have not found a SINGLE solitary tickle post about Rio Morales. Can you imagine how adorable she would be as a lee? ❤️ ((Ticklish moms + older women in general warrant more appreciation.))
I also made this here list a while back. This community can tend to neglect characters who are canonically ticklish, perhaps because the question has been answered already.
********************
WHEW. Got all that outta my system. XD If any of you are still alive and still reading this, anybody on this list that you agree deserves more tickling fanart/fics? Any thoughts on underrated lees of your own?

Hey! So I just really wanted to ramble about thoughts about the lu boys what have been in my head for a while and I would love to hear your thoughts!
One
If zelda or fable would ever have kids which she would. I feel like she would have like three kids two being girls and one being a boy and her youngest daughter I feel like would be attached to legend like his biggest supporter and gets supper sad when he leaves for adventures.
Two
I think we established that legend is the younger out of the two siblings? If so I feel like legend would just follow fable around like a lost puppy just to annoy her and be like "Zel? Zelda? Sister? Queen of hyrule? Fable?" Ans just use all of her titles to annoy her. It got to a point we're impa had to hid all the swords from fable so she wouldn’t kill legend.
I feel like before we found out time was married to malon like with his ring? I fell like he would torture the boys endlessly like "have you figured it out yet? (Who's ever name they said) ah. No." And he would lead them kn to a wrong person.
Modern au thoughts.
I feel like legend would want to be on Broadway but he'll keep it to himself instead of telling malon or time his dreams only hyrule knows.
If legend did get on Broadway I know that warriors would the annoying brother and be like "at (what ever Broadway play) sporting (and would use the roll of the character legend was playing)" and post it on his Instagram.
Sry this is mostly legend!
Um... why are you apologized for primarily Legend content? Darling, that is what I LIVE for LOL
Yes. Fable would totally have kids who all adore Legend, and he is the best uncle ever. Utterly spoils them rotten, always tells them crazy (actually true) stories, but in an age appropriate fashion since he doesn't want to upset them. Irregardless of how many she has, the kids have all gone through a phase where they just follow him around endlessly and hang off of him like he's some sort of furniture. Fable of course makes sure they understand that sometimes Uncle Link has days where he's in pain and can't play as much,a nd they all turn into worried little ducklings on those days, but most of the time he's all game for whatever they've got going on. After everything he's been through, and losing the love of his own life, his nieces/nephews are his reason to keep going and smile every day. (If Fable knew having kids was all it took to see him happy again she would have done it sooner honestly)
And yes. Legend is younger, so he does do annoying things sometimes. They're both rather mature for their ages, but he IS a Link, so yes, he breaks into her room, takes her stuff, and tracks mud all over the castle. If they get too fed up with each other, they will spar and they're both scary good at it, but Zelda actually tolerates a lot of Legend's chaos, and he's pretty quick to know when he's stepping far enough to make her actually angry, which they like to avoid. her anger is scary and rabbits tend to be timid, no matter how good an act they put up.
Time totally messed with them all. He'd have told stories about gals all the time and name dropped so many people just to watch the boys scramble to determine if that was the fabled spouse or if it was someone else. That's how the bets started actually!
Legend is totally a theatre kid! Yes yes yes. And Warriors is totally that annoying friend/relative/sibling that makes a point to support him in the most annoying ways he can think of. Kind of a soccer mom about it, ngl
(If you like the idea of Legend acting though, I'd suggest you check out my Opera House AU, it's pretty good if I do say so myself, although it's mostly just brainstorming right now)

It’s “appreciate yourself” hours! Pick five pieces of writing/art that you’ve done that you love and talk about them! ❤️❤️❤️
Sorry this took so long! Trying to pick five made me realize I have... a lot of writing. Like a LOT. So I kind of just did whatever came to mind, even though I know there’s stuff I’m proud of that isn’t on this list haha
This is kind of two in one but they’re on the same fic so it’s ok. I’m proud of this whole fic, but I particularly like how the Link’s Awakening and Skyward Sword chapters turned out. Link’s uncle is an underutilized character and him giving Link a very needed hug just felt so cathartic after what I did to him. hug that poor guy. And the Slyward Swprd one is honest to goodness one of the fluffiest things I’ve ever written, but it sort of proves I can write fluff and I’m proud of it because of that?? Also because that was my first time writing Groose and I think he turned out well. I’d change some things if I wrote it now but it’s still good :)
I know I haven’t updated it in over a year but I’m really proud of the Twilight Turns (true form au fic). Making Midna get her true form earlier and seeing how that changes the game is fun (and hard oof) to write and fun to play with. Is it a little unrealistic? Maybe. Did I have fun making Link nearly die in quicksand, and then make Midna panic so hard she ended up kissing him which sent them both on a spiral of “wait whoa wait do we like-like each other”? Yes. Yes I did. I think the bit in the most recent chapter with the chu jelly stuff is one of my favorite parts, but I’ve worked hard on the whole thing and I’m proud of it. I need to update it so badly ackkk
Ooh and this thing with Lost! Again, I really like the emotion I managed to pull through in this, and showing the hero’s spirit actively fighting against the darkness even though Link felt like he couldn’t do anything was just fun. He’s fighting back harder than he thought! His spirit tells him he’s doing a good job and hugs him because he can tell he needs it!! hurt/comfort babey :D
This downfall Incredibles au thing I wrote I’m pretty proud of— I struggled with it up and down, but I think in the end I finally got the emotions across that I wanted to :) especially the bit where Legend is panicking because he thinks he’s about to lose his mom, it hit hard hehe. And I always welcome an excuse to make Malon be cool while also loving her family/the Links.
This hdw au fic about Volga and Impa actually talking was really fun to write, I think their dynamic came through wonderfully, and making them address some of the misunderstandings and decisions they’ve been living with for years was interesting. I haven’t really done that kind of thing before. Also making Volga be a Dad and protective of his family without him really realizing it was fun. Especially since Link ended up hearing a solid half of the conversation, and they don’t know he did. I love this silly au <3

One random funny shipping trope I like occasionally is when the same person ends up dating two members of the same family (either at the same time (dating the parent and their kid) or at different times (dating the parent/ancestor/elder and then dating the child/descendant/younger at a later date)
Some notable examples from my brain:
Urbosa x Botw Zelda's mother + Zelbosa
What can I say? I first saw the former on Twitter and loved the fanart/au ideas of this ship. Frankly, I like it on its own whether as an au where they got married/became partners, or even if it's a homoerotic friendship with unrequited feelings (on Urbosa's end at the very least).
As for the latter, it kind of just struck me when I first watched that memory in base botw where Urbosa is holding Zelda as she sleeps (tuckered out from surveying) and talks to Link about her. This scene really set Urbosa up as a comforting presence to Zelda, and the knowledge that Urbosa displays sets her up as someone just inherently close to her (or at least someone who has been watching her all this time)
Under the framework of this post though, I love to imagine that Urbosa either has/had a secret thing with Zelda's mother, watched over her diligently and tried to position herself as a helpful presence, and then once Zelda properly grew up and started to get older, feelings (on Zelda's side first) started to grow more uncertain. I'd like to think under this framework that once Zelda becomes an adult and comes to terms with these feelings, she becomes embarassed around Urbosa😂
Or, as someone I know once said "Don't you think it's funny? Urbosa had a thing with the mother and the daughter!"
I also can't help but think back to this post I saw on my for you page about how a "MILF" should specifically be a woman old enough to be your mother. So like. It's also funny to imagine like, a sweet childhood friends situation with past!Urbosa/Zelda's mom, but then Zelda being so down bad for a MILF with eventual Zelbosa
Botw Zelimpa + Zelpaya
Now, I've shipped Zelimpa in botw since Age of Calamity released. Real princess and her number one bodyguard kind of situation seemed to be going on there (for the record, I watched the trailer and played chapter 1 of that game). As for Paya/Zelda, I didn't really think much about it until I (1.) got into botw Zelimpa and (2.) went through Paya's diary in botw and it hit me that Paya could very plausibly be into both Zelda as well as Link.
Under the framework of this post, I really can't help but think of them like parallels to the movie Hook (Paralleling Peter/Wendy and Peter/Moira). In this case, it's funny to me to imagine Zelda having this deep bond and relationship between Impa during AoC era, and then 100 years later (post botw) when she finally meets Impa again, Impa introduces her to Paya. And while Zelda sort of slowly falls for Paya as they hang out and get to know each other and talk, the feelings hit Paya like cupid's arrow (I love you bi crisis Paya).
Nanago + Goyuu
This one sorta came about because (in addition to both of these ships) I like those aus where Nanami is Yuji's adoptive parent. And so it's funny to imagine a situation in which Nanago are exes and/or divorced, and then like years later Yuji and Gojo have one of those chance meeting x romcom romances where they both find out after the fact that Gojo was once with Nanami, but it ends up being Nanami who's the most annoyed and bothered about this situation in the end
Nanami really wishes his adoptive son would dump his ex's ass😂
Rigurd/Siguriddle + Hayariddle
This one's a bit different just because Hayato is Sigurd's reincarnation rather than Sigurd being Hayato's ancestor, but it’s close enough. And it's close enough because this is actually arguably pretty close to UR canon?😂
Like Riddle has an entire King and his most devoted servant/secretary thing going on. There is so much implying that Riddle was probably in love with him, if not that they actually were involved as a couple. And then after his lord (Sigurd) dies, he dutifully makes sure that his beloved's soul reincarnates properly. And then he watches over and protects Hayato (said reincarnation) as he grows up, sets his plans in motion and inserts himself into Hayato's life when Hayato turns 17, and then grows attached to him enough that when he finally ressurects his dear lord after centuries, he chooses his reincarnation over him. And if the ending of that manga tells me anything, it’s that Riddle really did get the King and his reincarnation 😂
Vintaker + R!Ciel/Undertaker
I haven't actually read far enough into BB to know a lot of details, but all I need to know is that the Undertaker may have been implied to be involved with generations of phantomhives, that he did canonically hang with Vincent, and that he's like the Sebastian to R!Ciel. Funny to imagine him involved with the father, and so too his precious dead heir that the undertaker went through the trouble of trying to bring back
Lansoni + King Sonic/Galahad
If you follow me you may have already seen me posting about them but regardless
Satbk is the only continuity where a version of Shadow (Lancelot in this case) is arguably Silver's (Galahad's) dad. I will be completely real with you it is so funny to imagine King Arthur "Sonic" Pendragon being involved in a relationship with two of his knights, both of which just so happen to be father and son. Shenanigans abound. It's funny to imagine

Can we hear more about your stoner Link shy nerd Revali AU?? 👀 The art fo that was so cute I still havnt recovered.
awwaaaahhhh!! thank you! I’d love to talk about it!
It’s a highschool au {not set in my modern au canon} where Link is a gnc not fully realized trans kid who’s a part of the alt crowd in his school (if you went to usa american high school, you know the one. that usually has all the queer kids who smoke cigs and are punk as hell). He moved to town in his freshman year and was really quiet and out of the way until his sophomore year when he started hanging with the alt crowd (Urbosa, Yunobo, Mipha, Impa/Purah [Daruk and Zelda by proxy] and started reeking of weed.
Revali on the other hand is a very straight A’s student. Top of his class with Zelda. And has an extremely overbearing mother who limits a lot of what he can do and really wants him to focus on his education Only.
Revalink ends up in a project together for a class and initially Revali was not looking forward to it. Expecting Link to be lazy and make him to all the work. So he was avoidant and aggressive towards him at first. Until they had to meet up and actually work on something and he realized that Link was really a good student. Not as gifted or really smart, but driven to learn and get the work done. So Revali ends up really embarrassed at how he treated Link at first (Link is very cool about it and doesn’t care lmao) and they start hanging out! Eventually Revali realizes that these “scary alt kids” are actually really nice, even if they smoke and are often loud and rambunctious. He starts developing a crush on Link the more they hang out (jokes on him, she likes him too!) and he really doesn’t want his mom to find out the kids he’s started being friends with so he starts lying and rebelling against her. [mostly lying about who he’s seeing and where he’s going so he can see Link longer lol].
Eventually Link offers to smoke with Revali because he talks about how he’s neurodivergent and it helps him a lot and Revali seems stressed. It takes a bit for Revali to warm up to the idea but he does and MAN does it help. So they become smoke buddies (and also start maybe experimenting the way that kids their age do).
There’s a lot of cutesy scenes and mostly oblivious Link with a lot of pining Revali. In both the hs au’s I have it’s a very ‘high school innocence’ type vibe. The grit and raw emotion of the modern au can be exhausting so they’re both palate cleansers for the soul haha
I love talking about these! Thank you for the ask!!

Have to admit, seeing more people confirm my suspicion that the female characters in totk felt... let's say lacking, both new and old, is kinda a relief. I thought I was just hyper-critical, but I guess not as much as I had feared. I also have seen someone criticise Yona for feeling like a glorified sign-post, and only there to be Sidon's emotional crutch, with no real quest-arc of her own to build her character beyond "Fiancee" being rushed in. Sonia could have had potential, but just became Zelda's mom stand-in. Kind motherly sweet. Mineru: Probably the only newly introduced female who could be a bit different, and she literally only has like 2 cutscenes, and even she feels more like a "kind and gentle" character. It also feels like in Totk, most of the female characters, exception Riju and almost Mineru, with some bigger role are follow a specific kind of personality. Like the cute, sweet, affectionate kind girl trope. In Botw we at least had Urbosa. Compared to the male characters, who feel a lot more diverse in personality and general presentation, the pool of girls just feels like a shallow puddle.
Yeah, I completly agree. There's a sweetness that prevails every main female character, to the point where it almost makes them nonsensical at times? I have already talked about my confusion regarding Mineru's feeling of responsibility regarding the Imprisoning War, that feels more like there to soften her as a character rather than about making her relationship to Rauru, Sonia, Hyrule or Zelda any clearer --since... what did she do/didn't she do that could make her feel like she should take responsibility?
Even Riju kind of follows the trope of "not feeling enough" in a way that almost doesn't land with her actual role within the gameplay, and that is kind of a redux version of her BotW arc where it did make more sense since she was a child --and she went through turmoil before once. Buliara does a lot of the heavy lifting here (literally I suppose).
Shoutout to some side characters tho. Lots of gerudo characters that I really loved (I don't know why I love the two racers so much but I do, the girl who works at the Bazaar inn and literally could not care less whether you live or die, I even felt Emotions about Mattison and her father even thouuuugh I have many issues with the message being "you will eventually come back here and marry and have a child of your own" like, she's 6 years old??? let her decide for herself???? and also the fact that the game doesn't want to give weight to that old tradition of keeping voes out makes it feel arbitrary when it could be a genuinely interesting moment of the difficulty of having to shoulder a complicated cultural heritage VS your personal comfort, which is, like, biculturality 101 and VERY relatable, anyway), I think Paya is better handled in this one, Impa's little roadtrip is fun...

Ok I know you said you didn't want to bother anyone with scarf lore but I'm just so curious! Why an orange scarf? Can you tell us about it? (only if you want, please and thank you!)
ofc!! always happy to share :]
(bit of a warning for parental death ! the Scarf Lore is a little heavy VGEYAIV)
wars' orange scarf was given to him by his beloved and cherished mother when he was eight! she'd made it for him for when he grew up, but he'd wanted to wear it then, jumpin up n down and bein all cute, and who could say no to that face ? so she let him wear it and he's been very attached to it ever since. wore it everywhere, even when it was much too big for him and dragged along the floor behind him (his mom tucked in the edges,, safety first)
then, unfortunately, his mother died of an illness when he was nine, and that scarf became that much more important to him. he held onto that thing for dear life bc when his mother passed, the house felt empty and cold and no longer held that warm, coziness that was there whenever she'd hum her way through housework. all wars had left was his father (who was not a nice man or a good dad) and that man felt just as cold as the rest of the household
he grew an attachment to that scarf to the point where if he didn't have it on his person in some way he'd feel panicked. it was sort of his lifeline, and the last thing in the world that felt even half as warm and wonderful as his mom had been
fast forward through his childhood, where he trained and trained to become a knight solely bc his father forced him to, and then we land right at the beginning of the war, the start of wars' game. he's revealed to be the hero, he's instantly promoted to captain rank, and he's forced to don the legendary blue scarf instead
the blue scarf never felt good to him. it had that same empty, cold, vacant feeling to it when he put it on, and the more lives that were lost in that war and the more blood that stuck to his hands, the heavier that scarf got. the more he was scrutinized by the public, the more he was shouted death threats by people who didn't agree with his leadership tactics, and the more political nonsense weighed on his shoulders, the colder and more hollow it felt. the more he was pushed over his limits by his "friends" (zelda, impa) and forced to work even when his legs threatened collapse, the more hopeless it all was
when he was off-duty, though, he donned that orange scarf again, and everything felt warm and safe. the blue one felt like it sucked the life out of himputting it on actively shot anxiety through his gut, bc putting it on meant another day of political disagreements, battlefields on fire, and zelda and impa overworking him until he's bedridden
when he met the rest of the suncaster crew, he didn't have to wear that blue scarf. he put on the orange one and finally felt like himself for the first time in ,, maybe ever. the crew knows him as a wisp of sunshine, rather than the bloodied and blue shell of a man back "home"
i've mentioned it in the past, but wars eventually gets banned from his era as a whole bc he essentially "wasn't useful enough" to them. so wars gave zelda that blue scarf back, said good riddance, and put on his orange one instead. threw away the people and the world that treated him like shit and took up his mother's scarf and her kind ideologies instead. moved onto different worlds with different people who actually love him
the name "suncaster" has a lot to do with his scarf, actually. there are other, bigger meanings to it, but i went with suncaster bc wars is just that ! sounds cliche perhaps, but he rly is a warm, comforting presence in the face of danger to the others. it's why, in my latest piece where they're all lying down head-to-head, they're lying on his scarf. he's cushioning them, providing foundation. giving them a place to rest and smile rather than ache and trudge. being gentle and loving, rather than strict and lifeless, like zelda and impa had treated him. whenever he does that—shares his beloved scarf with the others—he's essentially sharing with them everything the orange represents to him. it's one of the kindest, softest things he can ever do for someone

heyyyy your Zelda au/story thing sounds cool you got any interesting facts
okay SO not sure of any interesting facts so I’m just gonna dump all of the information & stuff that I have written/planned out so be warned of the LONG text under the cut
I’ve dubbed this story The Legend of Zelda: The Daughter of Evil but there’s a chance this may change so be warned
So prettty much Zelda’s mom Sonia (I named her Sonia as a reference to totk) is a sheikah who falls in love with Ganondorf. Over time, however, Sonia starts to get scared by Ganon so after Zelda is born, she flees Gerudo Town and goes back to Hyrule. There, she hides the fact that she’s a sheikah in hopes that Ganon won’t be able to find her or Zelda. Sonia asks Impa for help with everything. Impa helps Sonia and teaches Zelda the ways of the sheikah. Eventually (when Zelda is like 2) Sonia falls in love with king Rhoam (she’s a bad bitch who pulled not one but two kings lol). Sonia, Impa, and Zelda move into the castle. Impa continues to train Zelda & no except Sonia knows of this. Eventually, Sonia dies when Zelda is 11 (sad)
Link lives in a little farm on the outskirts of Castle Town. His dad is a florist and his mom is a knight in the royal guard.
Every three months, a ceremony is held where everyone in the kingdom aged 14 or older must go to the temple of time to try and pull out the master sword.  Years ago, a seer prophesized that the holder of the triforce of power would attack hyrule andbring evil. Only the holder of the triforce of wisdom who had special sealing, light powers alongside the holder of the triforce of courage who carries the master sword can banish this evil.  The master sword was found in the temple of time in the lost woods. The king placed guards on the temple to protect it from evil.  Ceremony is held to find the one who holds the triforce of courage and protect & train them to defeat whoever holds the triforce of power.  Only those there to try to pull out the sword & the royal family are permitted in the sanctum with the sword.  Link pulls the Master Sword out on his 14 birthday on accident.  Monsters show up so without thinking he grabs the sword to defend everyone else at the ceremony.  Ends up being taken to the castle to begin training & to be protected.  Zelda and link become quick friends.  Zelda does not yet know she holds the triforce of wisdom.  They spend some time together goofing around the castle.  After being bored of being trapped in the castle for so long, Link and Zelda sneak out to go explore outside of the castle.  They get attacked by monsters not too far from the castle.  Link tries to protect them with teh Master Sword, but he’s not well trained with it yet (it takes a lot of energy, more than a normal sword).  As he is about to be struck down, Zelda jumps in to save him and unlocks her power from the triforce (think how botw zelda unlocked her powers when saving link from the guardian).  Impa (who was following them) sees this and tells the king.  The King is upset at them sneaking out, but happy that they found the holder of the triforce of wisdom (especially since it’s his kid, lol).  King Rhoam holds a ball to celebrate the finding of Link and Zelda holding pieces of the triforce (and to send a message to any enemies that they are protected by the king of hyrule himself).  Ganondorf sees this and sends monsters and a phantom ganon to attack the ball and kidnap Link & Zelda) .  King Rhoam is killed.  Link & Zelda manage to avoid getting caught or killed but they do get separated.
After the ball, Link wakes up in the temple of time where he first pulled the master sword out. He heads further into the temple and meets the great deku tree. He speaks to the great deku tree and meets Navi as well.
I haven’t figured out what happens after this yet but I do know that I want an evil/puppet Zelda fight before the final fight against Ganondorf like the possessed Zelda in twilight Princess or spirit tracks
sldeowhdgejdbenfidjd anyways sorry this is long and messy and filled with spelling errors but I hope you like hearing about my little story!!!
if you have any questions about anything feel free to ask me!! I know this prolly wasn’t the clearest answer

hi so. totk endgame spoilers under the cut. and also im shitting on it. i warned u
so when u play totk, theres something that stands out to me. and its the fact that the plot is fairly weak. theres some rlly good parts (looking at u tulin) and some heartbreaking parts, but when u stop and look at it objectively, its like. huh?????
i think totk wouldve been stronger if it hadnt been a sequel to botw. it was already in its shadow, but this choice made the shadow even longer. it was a poor choice
i find it incredibly hard to believe that totk zelda wouldve actually swallowed her stone. she wouldve researched for years instead of succumbing to something like that. like, i get it! her new mom and dad are dead now. but she was already researching and knows that last time, sacrificing herself instead of embracing herself went BADLY. if this was a brand new zelda, i wouldve believed it
now dont get me wrong! the ending boss fight was very powerful. i especially loved the section where ure fighting in the sky (even tho it succumbed to the same easiness as dark beast ganon, but thats another essay). and i love how the scene with them plummeting to the ground reiterates the prologue, and he catches her this time. thats powerful.
but then u remember that zelda probably wouldnt be a dragon, and its like. damn man.
as i said to my friend in dms,
ok ok so basically after they defeat the demon dragon, link gets sent to some spiritual realm where shirts dont exist. and sonia + rauru appear, despite both being dead and having passed on, and channel rewind and holy power thru links arm to turn zelda back into a hylian, despite draconification having no known cure
impa says she will research a way to turn zelda human again but she doesnt do ANYTHING and deux ex machina surprise motherfucker theyre back from the dead
i fucking HATE the scene where zelda is turned back. the part right after is fine, but the spiritual realm part makes me froth at the mouth. WHAT THE FUCK.
nintendo: ok lets retraumatize zelda. any thoughts?
employee: hey how bout we put her back in a white dress where she puts herself in stasis, but willingly this time, where she has to wait for link?
nintendo: this guy wins. lets do that
lets not talk about how zelda is "princess" zelda again this time. lets not. ill just get more angry
make link an amputee, nintendo. cowards.

I was tagged by @wanderingnightingale to reflect on seven creative things I’ve done in 2022, so here they are under the cut because is it really me if im not rambling 😂. thank you for the tag! anyone who sees this and wants to give it a go themselves, have at it!
1. as the sun sets on this world
my botw zelda and wolf link fic! this was an idea that came to me after I wanted to somehow incorporate wolf link's presence in botw into a story, but couldn't find a way to make it seem natural in a larger plot, so I kept it contained to this one-shot where he shows up and helps zelda take the master sword to korok forest after botw link's death.
it's not a super popular fic due to the strangeness of the idea, but I really like the character dynamics in the fic, especially the one between a damaged, unnamed fi who's trying to soothe a freshly-traumatized zelda. something something zelda finally getting a chance to talk to the very thing that "taunted" her her entire life, something something fi coming to terms with the fact that she's once again "failed" a Hero. i also loved writing the spooky nightmares that zelda has.
2. lightning in a bottle (flashing before my eyes)
my urbosa/zelda's mom fic is one that is very close to my heart. urbosa is one of my favorite zelda characters, and I love being able to make up a backstory for her that's worthy of the amazing character that she is (kind of. botw's characters besides zelink are all very flat but it's FINE it's why im WRITING THIS FIC. she's an amazing character in my head).
I just...she's so cool??? she's so confident and badass??? where does that come from how did she become that person??? why can she wield lightning??? I wanted to answer all of those questions that I had about her that wasn't just the most obvious answers of, "she balances out/soothes zelda's anxieties and gives us backstory on those anxieties. her lightning is a really sick game mechanic so she just has it to give it to link after she dies". also why would the game mention her deep connection to zelda's mom if they WEREN'T in love? of COURSE I have to write their love story and what it meant for urbosa to love a woman who was gone too soon, and whose daughter is in desperate need of guidance that only she can provide by emulating her mother and saying what her mother would say. urbosa's confidence is genuine, a product of her life up to the point that we see her, but it's also a way for her to give Zelda her mother for even just a moment.
in going in-depth on urbosa, I also get to go in-depth on zelda's mom, and I love zelda's mom. I've actually stolen her personality and such from a character from one of my original fiction ideas, so it wasn't exactly hard to come up with who she is, but honestly the hardest part of creating zelda's mom was picking her name. I was originally going to call her Rose so her name would be "Zelda Rose Hyrule", as it sounds nice as just "Zelda Rose", but I ended up going with Faye ("Zelda Faye"/"Zelda Faye Hyrule") because as I was implanting the personality of one of my characters onto her, Rose just didn't fit anymore. I felt it was too "gentle" of a name for this woman who is anything but that. no offense to anyone named Rose. I also love weaving in these little similarities between the queen of hyrule and botw zelda, because even though they're two completely different young women they're undeniably similar in a way that only mothers and daughters can be.
this fic only has two chapters out of ten posted. I am Trying. chapter three will happen eventually.
3. the goddess's chosen guardian
my short little impa fic! I love her so much!
this fic is just me going crazy over impa. I was literally in the car driving home from work one day, got stuck in traffic, and then "wrote" this whole thing about impa and sheikah culture and whatnot in my head and then I got home, opened up my laptop, and wrote for four hours until the whole thing was out of my brain. then I posted it on ao3 like two minutes later.
I don't even know, I just wanted to go in-depth about how cool impa is, because the idea of her as a whole, someone who isn't mentioned in any of hyrule's prophecies but is central to protecting the Goddess's bloodline??? you're telling me impa is "just a side character"??? she's the reason for all of the legends of zelda even coming to pass, as she protects the existence of a girl with hylia's blood (and the longevity of hyrule's royal family), which snowballs into the reason why ganon wants to destroy the world and then why link gets called upon to stop him. she's arguably even the reason ganon gets defeated if you go back far enough in the butterfly effect, because if zelda dies what the hell is link supposed to do once he kicks ganon's ass? he has no idea how to seal evil in another realm, the only magic he knows comes from items he finds in dungeons and spinning his sword really fast. zelda is the triforce of wisdom, and without impa most of the time the triforce of wisdom is lost.
she's just so freaking awesome. how could I not write something about how she becomes who she is?
4. with every drop of rain singin'
mitski should be put in prison for writing pink in the night does she even know what she's done to me????
this was my fic for zelink week back in july, and it was supposed to be a one-shot. like...5k MAX. then it became 30k broke out into three chapters. I don't know where my energy for long one-shots like my fi fic went, but I just have to break stuff up now and therefore I am cursed to forever say "oh this is a one-shot" and then have like three additional chapters because I can't stop adding stuff. this is what it means to be a writer.
this fic is weird, because it's so different from my usual writing in that it's strangely profound. I don't even know what happened one second I was writing about zelda having amnesia after sealing the calamity and the next second I had link philosophizing about love and what it meant for him to barely remember someone who couldn't remember themselves. he wanted answers, that's why he became the Hero, but instead he's the one having to give them even though he doesn't know anything for sure. it's a fun reversal! I also got to play with stream of consciousness for the first time in years, which is why there are gigantic paragraphs and run-on sentences as link rambles to himself trying to figure out what's going on and his feelings surrounding this zelda who is nothing like the one he vaguely remembers.
5. a thing that doesn't change with time
this fic is a testament to how deeply I will commit to the bit, because it's not even a bit anymore. this is serious. I've convinced myself that this npc merchant is secretly god and hiding the secrets of the universe in his beetle-shaped backpack. he helped build skyloft. he knew skyward sword impa. he's never tired when you go up to him in skyward sword or botw he's LYING to all of us for his own personal amusement because he's been alive for millions of years and got bored one day. I know him on a deeper level than anyone else in this fandom (this is a joke, unless it's not, look at what I just said), I know this to be true. my uncle works at nintendo.
all jokes aside though, this fic is a MONSTER just like the previous one. almost 30k and I still have the last chapter to write. it's an exercise in world building and character crafting on a level that I haven't operated/written on in six years, and when I finish this fic (and if I think hard enough to take away all of the "zelda"-isms) I can probably turn it into a whole original story and have a solid 30-40k little novel on my hands about a man who unwillingly becomes a god and fights tooth and nail to retain his mortality. I genuinely love this idea and I literally cannot look at beedle without going, "I know what you are".
6. overdue
I've written some other smut on my account, but this is the fic that my practice ones had been building to, and I think I was better for it. it was fun to write, albeit difficult because I could barely keep a straight face when I was reading it back to myself, trying to make it the best that it could be, and honestly my favorite part of it is the comedic ending when botw zelink is finally done boinking in the library's secret room and they get called out by impa.
7. ignorance is bliss
this is the only non-zelda fic on the list, being for the chainsaw man fandom and a lesbian rarepair. even though this year I've also written an attack on titan and a batman fic, this is the one that I like the most out of the three fandoms that I've ventured out into writing for.
to really go in-depth would be to spoil the new anime, as it spoils something major, but I like the dynamic I've made between the two characters the fic is about, how they speak to each other and how they "love" each other, as both of them have no idea what it is to love. there's also another heaping of smut in here, but it's not "sexy" smut, so it was a first try at writing intimacy in a way that wasn't really intimate at all, which I think I was wayyyyyyy better at. apparently I can't write anything properly if it's not angsty dkfjhsdjkghksdg

hi excuse the random. au troubleshooting? or whatever that's I'm doing in your inbox or whatever but anyway the thing with the botw au is like. ok I love the idea of the party being the og champions (lucas=revali, el=mipha, dustin= daruk, max=urbosa) for multiple reasons. a. the angst potential is awesome I love that shit THEY'LL ALL BE DEAD IT'S GREAT. b. I feel like lucas as revali actually has some really neat potential, and dustin as daruk isn't special but it's fine. c. el as mipha is SO GOOD. THERE'S SO MUCH THERE. BUT. The Issues. ok first of all. idk. max as urbosa is like. well urbosa has a stronger connection with zelda bc she knew her mom and shit and like. not everything has to be a one to one but idk i just don't LOVE max as urbosa right? it's not hitting the same as the others. but overall the party as the og champions works better, but than WHO ARE THE 2ND GEN CHAMPIONS? like we have the older teens but it feels weird to be like. "yeah the first gen is the younger kids and the 2nd gen is the older ones" AND THEN ALSO. splitting up sibling pairs so they aren't related or whatever isn't something I vibe with. but jonathan is will's older brother and nancy is mike's older sister so I'm like??? where would they fit in even if they were champions like it doesn't work quite right? and then who gets to be impa? OR PURAH AND ROBBIE? actually the idea of steve and robin as purah and robbie is something I've been entertaining that sounds fun. BUT ANYWAY YEAH I CAN'T FIGURE IT OUT. PRIMARY ISSUE IS WHO WOULD BE THE 2ND GEN CHAMPIONS. I'm thinking about this too hard for someone who will take this nowhere bc I don't write but. I need to figure this out for some reason
AHHHHH OKAY LISTEN IM STILL THINKING VERY HARD ABOUT THIS !!
It's very hard to adapt the specific relationships of ST in BOTW, and vice-versa.
For Max's special relationship with Will, maybe instead of knowing Joyce, she could know Jonathan? Becoming closer to him because she's running away from her brother ? Throwing ideas out there.
Speaking about Jonathan, I think it'd be interesting to get him to fill in Zelda's Father's role. He could be the king, and then Joyce would be the Queen Dowager, right ? That would give the perfect excuse for Jonathan to know Max from the Gerudo, I believe.
For Impa, I honestly see Nancy, as weird as it sounds. I think she'd go well for the role, helping her brother get back his memories while trying her best to save Will. Plus, she was the one who brought Mike in the temple, and some Wheeler sibs angst is very tempting.
FOR THE 2ND CHAMPION GEN I'LL BE HONEST. I don't really know. In BOTW, I didn't feel very close to them anyway, and the focus isn't really on them... we technically could put characters like Jason, Chrissy, Eddie, etc... maybe even Kali ? I'm not really sure but, I feel like putting side characters like them wouldn't hurt the story too much ?
ALSO I LOVE THE IDEA OF STOBIN BEING PURAH AND ROBBIE LOL
I'm still having a lot of thoughts abt it so I'll definitely come back to write them out but... yeah these questions are almost out of the way.
But the potential this AU has is insane. I really want to write it since it's so GRHSFDIFOGVO but MAN !!!!

oh also. i know it's been awhile but. hylimpa? <3
Omg yes my favs
What made you ship it: didn't really vibe with Impa/Zelda because it felt like a side pairing to Ghiralink so often, like oh we need to put the love interest of the mc into a relationship as well but let's make it gay. I really don't see Impa/Zelda working in game tbh
SO after thinking about Urbosa/Zelda's mom and Hylia/Link in the fandom I was like... Wait... What about them... And Impa's devotion to Hylia is so good. It turns into both mortal/divine and fell in love with my bff but she didn't love me back (gay) so I'm going to take care of her kid even though she's a reminder that friend is dead and didn't choose me, but I love her so so much I couldn't possibly hate her child and cause her any suffering (the anti-Severus Snape effect)
Favorite thing: oh my god so much angst. SO SO SO MUCH. I especially love the depth it adds to the Link and Impa you were late scene: Link, standing there, if he's the reincarnation of the first hero Hylia loved so much (either romantically or platonically or a secret third thing (the love of a goddess for a worshiper)) as this re-do because the first one failed and he's failing again. Hylia gave up her divinity to be with him and he doesn't even appreciate it. I did not like her in the moment playing the game. But to think about it from her POV?? For it to be more than Impa saying that because she's a of follower of Hylia, if Link loses the world ends etc??? INSANE
Unpop opinion: lol no opinions are popular about this ship but I guess it kind of needs at least one sided Hylia/Link to work in the way I want it to? But I'm not really into Hylia/Link. I want it that Hylia as a goddess has such a different meaning to "love" that neither Impa or Link love her in the way she loves them—Impa thinks she loves Link romantically but it's more of a god's love for their follower, Link loved her as a devotee loves a god.
I considered asking you Impa/Hylia so I am sending you the formal ask right now asdfhjl
