Wisconsin scientists study driving and THC impairment
Along with a team of UW-Madison researchers, Barkholtz set out to study how delta-8 THC, which can be derived from hemp, compares to delta-9 THC, which is found in marijuana, in a driving simulator.
By Anna Marie Yanny | Wisconsin Public Radio Researchers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison are gearing up to administer set levels of delta-8 and delta-9 THC to people in a pilot study, and place them in a driving simulator.  Their goal?  To see how the drugs influence people behind the wheel.  Heather Barkholtz is the study’s lead researcher. She said since the 2018 farm bill legalized…

Understanding Driving Prohibition Criminal Code in Canada
Driving prohibition is a serious criminal offense in Canada. If you're convicted of driving while prohibited, you could face a variety of penalties, including a lengthy prison sentence.
This blog post will explain the different types of driving prohibition in Canada, the penalties for violating a driving prohibition, and how to get your driving privileges back after a driving prohibition.
Take a look at Kisel Law's most recent blog post related to impaired driving and be an expert on this field!

Not being able to drive stops me from doing so much more than just driving.
At least in my specific situation, not being able to drive also means:
not getting to choose how early or late I arrive to an event (or when I get to leave the event).
not being able to go for a drive when I'm upset or need to clear my head.
not getting to pick which route I take to a destination or whether/where to stop on the way.
not being in control of my own safety while I’m on the road.
not getting to listen to the music I want in the car (at least not without worrying I'm bothering whoever I'm with).
not being able to be the designated driver when I’m out with friends (even though I don’t even drink).
not being able to help drive during long car rides so whoever I’m with can take a break.
not being able to get to a friend in the middle of the night if they need someone.
not being able to go anywhere spontaneously or last-minute if I don’t have time to arrange a ride.
not being able to go somewhere if no one can/wants to give me a ride (especially if it’s too far away).
feeling left out any time people start talking about cars or driving (which happens surprisingly often).
having to miss out on events if the person who I was supposed to ride with has to cancel.
never going anywhere by myself.
constantly having to ask others for rides, to the point where I burn out on it and feel like a burden.
And so much more.
I’m constantly having to confront the fact that I would live an entirely different life if I could drive. But instead, I’m an adult with the independence of a teenager.
I don’t have an optimistic way to end this rant. It just sucks not being able to drive.

i’m reading the da vinci code because i heard there was a character with albinism and holy shit lmfao
they had me when they said he had ‘translucent white skin and red eyes’ but when i got more into it and found out he’s a fuckinf SHARPSHOOTER?? and he can drive? and READ FINE PRINT?
Also I think this quote from an article is important:
“Michael McGowan, an albino who heads the National Organization for Albinism and Hypopigmentation, said "The Da Vinci Code" will be the 68th movie since 1960 to feature an evil albino.” this article was written in 2006 btw (i love the referring to McGowan as ‘an albino’ too, shit goes hard./s)
god i love the portrayal of albinism in media. it’s so warped.

Juuuuuuuddeeeee how the ros right now would react to after being so drunk in early morning they awake with mc at their side after a steamy night with them 😳?
You like you're signature nonnie because you're the only one who ever starts off your asks dragging my name out like that 💀
It really does depend on the context, it seems to be by the way the question is framed that it wasn't an agreed thing, technically it wouldn't be consensual so NOT GOOD

I am also blind. Thanks, I feel so understood.
So glad that I'm reaching the blind community!
Being blind and loving racing is sometimes painful. I remember being four years old and deciding I wanted to be a Nascar driver.
We didn't have cable, but my dad showed me YouTube clips, and I fell in love. It was ironic because I was a cautious kid until I got competitive.
Then I got sick and lost my vision. I was almost five at the time. My parents knew how much I wanted to drive, so they never said anything.
Cars was a staple movie in my house. I rode my bike around and pretended to drive. My dad taught me about the different parts of the cars. About the different gears and how shifting works.
I planned it all out in my head.
Then, when I was 10, I was going for an eye exam. Just to make sure everything with my optic never was still as stable as it can get.
I saw a car when we were driving and it was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. I was so excited about that I told my eye doctor about it. I told him how I wanted to drive a car like that when I got older.
He broke the news to me that day that you need peripheral to drive. I cried on the way home.
My parents were planning to slowly ease me into it. They wanted me to come to my own conclusion when I was able to understand better.
Instead, they had to go through every phase of grief with me. I went backward through different motor sports. If I couldn't drive a car, then maybe a motorcycle. If I can't drive a motorcycle either, then maybe a bike. Maybe a snowboard? A skateboard? Surfing? How about team sports? Soccer? Basketball? Anything?!
It was incredibly frustrating. I wanted to compete but couldn't because it was a risk to myself and also a risk to others.
I figured it out eventually. I was thirteen when I decided to pursue something non-athletic.
All that to say, I love watching motor sports. However, I still get sad watching it sometimes. Sure, I'm happy where I'm at, grateful and successful even, but it doesn't stop me from thinking about what could have been.
I will never be able to drive. It's a cold, hard truth that I can't escape. So I'm glad that there is a community out there that understands.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. 💕

ok but what about visually impaired gojo?
the sunglasses he wears all throughout high school aren’t blackout lenses, they’re an extremely high prescription (but they are still sunglasses because he has light sensitivity)
he laughs when people try on his glasses because they get headaches instantly. he knows they will because mere moments without his glasses strain his eyes more than he can handle sometimes. he’s been used to doing certain things blind his whole life. he doesn’t wear contacts because they don’t make contacts strong enough for his prescription. the frequent eye strain induced headaches aren’t worth it. the headaches he gets after missions, even with his glasses, are more than enough for him.
after getou defects, gojo switches to wearing a blindfold full time. he never needed sight to be super weapon. the blindness is far more comforting than the visual strain he used to endure. besides, the one sight worth the headaches was gone now.

love adhd meds because normally when you ask someone if it's okay to drive on amphetamines they'd say no absolutely not but it's actually very dangerous for me to get on the road WITHOUT being on (low dose) amphetamines
