I know many people need their silly little scenario time before bed to fall asleep at night, but I for one also require a decent amount of immersive-daydreaming-time immediately upon awakening to fortify my soul for the day and that's why I'm an English major.

Welcome to funnier-as-a-daydreamer!
This is a blog for things that are not necessarily related to daydreaming, but are funnier with the context of being a maladaptive/immersive daydreamer. While I personally have MaDD, immersive daydreamers are allowed too!
For those who don't know what I'm talking about, immersive daydreaming is when you have really intense, detailed daydreams with complicated plotlines, mental worlds (known as paracosms), and reoccurring characters (known as paras). Maladaptive daydreaming, often shortened to MaDD, is when immersive daydreaming goes wrong and it begins affecting your work/school, social life, hobbies, or mental/emotional health negatively. You can learn more about MaDD by looking at @madd-information's profile, or you can check out this doc by @acircusfullofdemons for more general info on both immersive and maladaptive daydreaming.
My other daydreaming blog is @neuronarrator, which I made in 2022 to talk about my paras and paracosms. If you're interested in that, go follow me over there too. I'm the only mod on this blog so far, although that may change if this blog gets popular enough. I use any pronouns :)

Tips for handling a daydream block
It happens to all of us at some point, and it sucks. here are some tips on how to deal with it from my experience.
There can be different or causes to it. First, you have too many thoughts. Whether it's because you have a lot on your mind, because you're stressed, or whatever other reason, if your brain is too full, it can be hard to daydream. Second possibility: your brain feels exhausted, empty. You're tired and it's hard to think, period. Third, you're just out of ideas!
✦ If you can and like to meditate, meditation is one of the best ways to calm down your thoughts and give your brain some respite.
✦ Napping can help rest too! Depending on the person, this might not help if you're in the first case though - I know it doesn't for me for example.
✦ If you lack ideas, look up some prompts, or maybe get into a new series or book! You need to feed your creativity, along with letting it rest.
✦ Do something else! Go for a walk, do some coloring, try a new art form, change up your habits! This can both help you get inspired and rest your creative muscles.
✦ Chat with other daydreamers! Whether it's gushing or venting, not feeling alone is a great help in feeling better
Now, while those are great to help getting out of a slump, sometimes only time will truly get rid of the block. In the meantime, there are ways you can stay connected to your paras and paracosms!
✦Make playlists your paras would listen to ✦Make moodboards ✦If you've written or drawn things related to your daydreamns, look at those ✦Make your paras a list of books they've read, would like to read, would dislike, etc! This can work with hobbies, movies, cartoons, food,… ✦Create a timetable of a typical work/school day of your para if it applies ✦Make jewelry for your paras; you can wear it to feel like they are with you or to think of them. ✦Make collages or art inspired by your paras, paracosms and daydreams! It can be super abstract! ✦Create outfit boards for your paras ✦Make memes about your paracosm ✦Try a meal or snack your paras would like! ✦Fill in personality quizzes as if you were your paras

Welcome to the MADDvent Calendar!
RULES HERE
This is an event run by @citiesonjupiter that will take place throughout December 2024, in the lead up to Christmas. It's essentially just an advent calendar for maladaptive* daydreamers, where every day up to the 25th, we'll post a prompt for a para, paracosm, or some sort of scenario. You can do what you want with the prompt — write, create some art, music, or even just ramble a little bit! Whatever your heart desires!
Submissions are very much welcome, you can send them in via the wishlist (ask box), or to the submissions page. I will deal with any final post formatting, so no need to worry about that in your submission. Any unused prompts may be posted after the event, or saved for next year, depending on the turnout of this event.
*This event was aimed at the MADD community, but anyone is welcome to join in of course! Whether you're immersive, casual, or anything else, you are welcome here.

i just realized that no matter how many friends i have or how i close i am to people, i will always feel empty without my daydreams. it's too much of a part of me now. i could never let go of them entirely. i would lose too much of myself.

Introduction
We are The Nebula Basket Party (collective/system). We collectively use they/them. We are a dreamway collective. Bodily and on average we are in our mid 20's. Most of us are nonbinary and aroace. Several of us are nonhuman, alterhuman, alterbeing, and such. There's 15 of us total, but some will likely be more active than others.
We're not exactly sure what exactly we plan to do here, but we plan to post on occasion. We plan to use this as a space to be openly ourselves, both as a party and as individuals.
Cyannide Lolypop 🍭 (vey/ven/vims + neos/they) is the host and will likely be active most often.
Anonymous Cryptid 🥀 (they/he/x/ze/she) is the party spokesperson apparently and will, in most cases, speak as a representative for the entire party (that's me).
Crow 🌘 (he/they/rem/sin + neos), Lisianthus 🍃 (they/he/she), and Fresh Snow 🎹 (he/him) seem to be frequent fronters as of now.

Veritbond - this term has multiple definitions!
a) a para ("daydream character") the daydreamer has a deep emotional connection/attachment to
b) a para with a degree of self awareness
c) a para with a degree of autonomy
d) a mix of 2 or all of the above.
This flag can be used by anyone with Maladaptive Daydreaming Disorder or who is an Immersive Daydreamer or Neuronarrator.

idk if this is a rude question to ask but how do you daydream? ive been wanting to get into immersive daydreaming but it just…hasn’t!! been working!! i have a very hyperactive mind and i do daydream but it just doesn’t feel,,real enough…? IDK!!! WAAAHHHH —🍇
sorry it took me a while to respond! i guess it's hard to answer, because my daydreaming came so naturally to me. most of my daydreaming is tied in with dissociation, so it is also hard to control.
this might be the most obvious and dumb advice, but try listening to music and thinking of your favorite scenes. listening to music is always the most immersive experience for me at least. try to really think about what scenarios you would love to see yourself/your characters in. it's about channeling whatever emotions your feeling at the moment in my experience. my feelings really control what happens in my daydreams lol.
