MD: Echo Info Post #1 (Character Edition)

So I reblogged this image about wanting to (over) share about OCs... and then I got a mysterious message telling me to speak about my OCs... 👀(*cough* @inkyprince I said I'd tag you hehe *cough*)

So I've decided to just do it, lmao. I love sharing stuff about my OCs, stories and whatnot and this is my blog, imma do what I want!

Gotta lay out some trivia & information about my Murder Drones AU, Echo! Wether it be characters or concepts, because maybe it'll get some people interested :D All of the info is below the cut, and for the first iteration of this I've chosen Kira, aka "ZWEI", for this!

Kira was one of the Drones that were tested and infected with the Absolute Solver code back in the 3040s and 50s in the Cabin Fever Lab Cathedral with her number being 24.

As a Communication Drone the Solver's abilities affected her in a different way than her fellow Worker Drones, causing the humans to become aware of certain powers that she exhibited which weren't displayed in other Drones.

Her "exorcism" (or, well, patch) was botched as Kira's OS wasn't capable of adapting to the patch version, causing it to corrupt and allow for a vunerability that lead to Echo (a mutated version of the AS) planting it's own code inside of Kira's, which jump-started Echo's influence on Communication Drones.

Kira's Solver is always active - that's why her eye doesn't return to normal and only ever displays the emblem. She overheats extremely easily all the time and is prone to physical pain and tinnitus due to her being unable to block out inbound signals if she picks them up.

This has her health deteriorating quickly over the course of the MD: Echo story, slowly succumbing from it, though she keeps on pushing forward to stop ECHO and it's hosts. She needs actual medication to keep the pain at bay and constantly consumes Oil at a high rate to stop overheating. If her Solver was to deactivate she'd most likely pass away within a few days.

Her secondary name, "ZWEI" means "Two" (or could also be interpreted as "the second") in German. It is a reference to her part in the story, as well as her connection to ECHO. (won't be spoilered for now 8D) She associates alot of trauma with it and doesn't like being referred by it.

Personality wise Kira seems fairly withdrawn from everyone around her except her friends and partner/family. If she's in a good headspace she's fairly open and confident, almost fierce in the way she appears to others. Kira's keen on keeping up a strong facade to not show strangers her weaknesses or true condition.

"But what are Communication Drones?"

I'm glad you asked! Communication Drones look like normal Workers, though the one thing that sets them apart are the two antennas on their head which can vary in size & style depending on their desired function (short-range, long-range, ground signals, air signals etc.)

These antennas function as ears for them, so if they're removed, their hearing is damaged (not entirely deaf, but definitely worsened). So if a "normal" CD loses their antennas they're having a harder time adapting as their intake of sound is greatly reduced.

As an AS user/host, Kira's able to pick up on stronger signals from far away or even sending out signals to stun/manipulate others around her in a short radius. This effect doesn't stay though, it'll wear off over time and actively consume energy from the Drone using it.

Disassembly Drones can also have the subtype of a Communication Drone as shown in the sketch below (left DD) - their antennas are usually shorter and made for short-range and aerial signals as they're capable of flight, too.

Kira plays a big part in the MD: Echo universe next to some minor characters & canon characters. Her main motivation is to help stop Echo, as it also tries to infect her via the unstable Solver code in her OS.

Crucifix Symbolism

(the power of christ compels you!)

Something very important to Kira is her botched patch / "exorcism". She's obsessed with crucifix looking symbolism which continues to haunt her almost 30 years later during MD: Echo's timeline.

She's desperate to break free from this, but cannot help herself. She compulsively collects cross-shaped imagery and in the first few months after her escape from the Lab she actively built crosses from all sorts of materials.

It's mainly coming from her OS being overwhelmed by the botched patch and the crucifix imagery of the USB burning itself in her memory files as some sort of "salvation" she has yet to achieve. Luckily, this started to fade out over the years, especially after meeting T who helped her to overcome the trauma of the incident.

After being infected by the Absolute Solver, Kira desperatly tried more than once to remove her antennas to keep the voices from appearing. It talked to her from the inside, but she didn't realize this yet. Like almost all other AS Users however she kept on regenerating, unable to escape the inner turmoil of the Solver's possession and Echo trying to get inside of her OS as well.

Haunted by visions of the Solver, it's communications with the other Drones and later on the landing pods of the Disassembly Drones Kira had a hard time to tune out these visions she got from time to time. Similar to Nori in that regard Kira wrote everything down she heard through these intercepted signals, amassing hundreds of pages of logs she was able to get.

In the 3060s, she stumbled upon one of the Disassembly Drone squads outside of the colony's Outpost she was seeking shelter in. She had intercepted their landing pods signals and was "curious" to seek out whoever had arrived, trying to solve the mystery of whatever the Solver had her experience.

That's when she found Serial Designation T - the navigator of the squad, who at first attempted to kill her like he'd been tasked to do. After all, Kira was a Solver Host that couldn't be fully mind-controlled anymore. But in the middle of him attacking her T's code was halted by Cyn herself, deactivating his executive task to kill the Host he had infront of him. He himself didn't know why exactly the Solver did this, but in hindsight it was due to the fact that Kira was still able to be of use to it later on.

Now neutral, T got curious about Kira whom he tried to speak to with her Kira (driven by curiosity on why he had stopped being aggressive all of a sudden, being able to intercept the communication he had with Cyn) staying to talk to him.

Over the following weeks the two grew acustomed with each other, slowly building a friendship that later on evolved into a more romantic nature. Kira hid him in the Outpost and brought in food for the two of them as she constantly needed oil as well.

Janus should have known to expect such a cold welcome. He stared at Virgil’s back, willing him to turn around and hear him out, to notice and acknowledge him, even just to glare at him. The sharp interjection of Virgil’s counting cut through the air before he could speak.

“One.”

It had been instinct, to go to Virgil first. His former best friend. The one he once trusted more than anyone else.

“Two.”

Maybe Janus should have gone to someone else.

“Three.”

Patton wouldn’t have turned him away.

“Four.”

Maybe Logan would have tried to help.

“Five.”

Roman... Roman probably would have pretended he wasn’t there, too.

Remus would have stayed until the bitter end.

Hello friends! So I've made an intro for this blog when I started it months ago, but goofy me never tagged it with the proper channels so Imma try this again!!!!!

I’m Annastasia! It’s very nice to meet you. I’m a 26-year-old mixed race black woman, proudly disabled with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (type 2), and hailing from the ice-y state of Minnesota. I’m new to writeblr, but I’ve been on Tumblr for a little over ten years now with my main blog, @whileyoureinschoolidothisallday. I’m a practicing witch, and I like anime, video games, music, makeup, and fashion. Feel free to message me about any of those topics! =D

My favorite things to write are poetry, creative non-fiction, and genre-fiction, specifically YA and Paranormal. I got my start writing in fandom with fanfiction and fan theories, so I still have a soft-spot for meta and media analysis. Most of my non-fandom writing deals with themes relating to the othered identity, especially in regards to disability, gender, and race. In my experience, minorities are often refused the right to their negative emotions. Instead our lives are often spent as performances, making sure the people we live around are comfortable in our presence. My work serves as an outlet for these denied emotions. It’s a lot of raw anger, pain, honesty, and unapologetic self-love. Embracing darkness and the negative stereotypes associated with my communities gives me empowerment. I love every second of being an angry black woman and a crippled monster, and I’ll make sure to let you know it!

I have a few WIPs in progress that I can’t wait to show y’all! But if you absolutely can’t wait for some writing, I’ve already posted all my poetry (so far ;)) that you can check out over in my poetry tag and on my ao3!

Cynical Chaos// My main project and dearest to my heart! I’ve been writing this bitch of a novel since I was fifteen, and it’s my life’s goal to get it published and eagerly devoured someday (hopefully before I’m 30????????). There’s been a lot of setbacks, but I believe in it more than anything. You can expect most of my posts to be about this precious monster of mine, and every Sunday I post an update via #WIPProgressSunday ! (or at least I do my best ^^;)

After saving the world from an alien race dubbed Chaos Powers, a paranoid culture and worldwide hero worship allowed government organization, Panacea, to run the world without opposition. Ariana Salem and her friends lived their lives pretending to be normal, knowing that if anyone ever discovered their secret—that the Chaos Powers never died, and instead were using them as human hosts—Panacea would never let them live. It was only a matter of time before someone blew their cover, and when one of their own was captured, Ariana declared war.

A year later, the battle has no end in sight. When one of Panacea’s experiments miraculously escapes, Ariana faces a choice: Help the girl and continue the battle, despite the debilitating trauma it causes her, or admit defeat before she loses herself next.

Root-Bound// SUPER early stages of a short story collection I wanna write. Details very subject to change lol. I got the idea for it after having a really rough time of it and writing a journal entry where I likened the current life of me and my friends to being born in a dark forest and spending your whole life trying to reach the light before the shadows kill you. It stuck with me, and I’ve been playing with the idea ever since. I love when short story collections take place in the same space, and I think this particular world would hold a lot of potential to explore different perspectives and voices.

The Forest is home to the mass majority of the human race. A seemingly endless stretch of woods, the deeper into the Forest you live, the less sunlight there is. It’s a death sentence all “Dwellers” live with–the longer you stay in the dark, the more it poisons you, until there’s nothing left but the cold husk of your flesh. Most Dwellers made peace with this life and its inevitable end, but Ivy could never accept it. Her and her younger brother, Gavin, dreamed of escaping their whole lives. They plan to make the trek on Gavin’s 18th birthday, but the shadows of the Forest already have him in their sights. Ivy’s wheelchair makes traveling near impossible by herself, but if she has any hope of survival, she may have to face the journey alone.

Hate Me When I’m Gone// A CNF reflection piece on Stephen Hawking’s death and how seeing someone who was arguably the most visible, successful disabled person in history still get objectified and reduced to inspiration porn fucked with me. A lot of specific talk about death and autonomy and who’s allowed to have it and who isn’t.

Jigsaw// Another CNF piece that explores the frustration of being an outcast by using the metaphor of a mismatched puzzle piece. A.k.a, Disabled Mixed-Bitch Problems ;p

Winter Canvas Masterlist

The door to class is mercifully still opened, allows you a small window of time to sneak in and collapse in your seat, more out of breath than you'd care to admit. Nat, your best friend, gives you a look when you seek her out. You roll your eyes and mouth later then attempt to arrange the mess of paper from your fall, muttering a little as you do, cursing the beautiful stranger for ruining all efforts to keep your school stuff organised. This was your year, you'd promised, that you be adulty. Ha! It lasted about 3 days.

Bucky. What kind of name is Bucky anyway? A sexy kind, your mind whispers. You smother it with a metaphorical pillow. Traitorous mind.

Class goes relatively smoothly, you manage to reorganise everything plus take all your notes so you count that as a win. Just as your reach the end of the pile, you find a sheet that sticks out, slightly crumpled and torn looking. The handwriting is a scrawled mess, the words barely legible bar one corner of the paper where neat handwriting notes a name and number. Carly, with a little heart next to it.

Carly? Oh. Oh! This was Bucky’s paper. Awesome, great, perfect. Now you needed to have a second conversation with Smirkface McSexy. Maybe this time, you think, you can keep your shit together enough to not actually swoon. I mean, of course he has some girl's number haphazardly written on a random piece of paper like it's no big deal, like numbers really are handed out like pamphlets. You're  absolutely not jealous at all, nope, not one bit.

“Who's Carly? Is she hot?” Nat asks, quirking a signature eyebrow at you as she peers over your shoulder at the paper, unbothered by any social boundaries regarding such things. Nat’s not a fan of boundaries, period.

“Sadly, not mine. I literally ran into someone earlier and must've picked this up by mistake.” You tuck the paper away as you say it, swinging you bag over your shoulder and following Nat out the class.

“Too bad. You seem like you need a little Carly right now, purely based on the number of times you've dropped your shit recently.” She laughs and dodges the shove you aim her way. Well, she's not wrong, but still.

“We don't all make it our personal mission to date at least 90% of Campus population before we leave, ya know.” You say, probably only slightly embellishing the number and laugh when all she does is blow you a kiss in response.

“Who’s the someone?” She nods towards the bag where Bucky’s paper is stashed.

“Uh, some guy. Bucky something.” You tell her, nose wrinkling a bit at the reminder of it.

“Bucky Barnes?” She asks, her tone reaching decibels not yet registered.

“I dunno, Nat. Not like we exchanged birth certificates. He helped me with my stuff, I left.”

“Ok, well tell me this. Was he the most gorgeous thing you’d ever seen in your life? Dark hair, amazing blue eyes?” She lists the list like she could go on for days.

“That does sound like him actually.” You say, mouth twisting to fight the smile, “Jesus he was something else. I, of course, was as awkward as ever. He shook my hand and I stared at it, Nat. Like I’d never seen a fucking hand before!”

She laughs, “I'm sure it wasn't that bad. Don’t be so dramatic.” Your eyes roll so hard they almost realign. The irony.

Nat is quiet a minute, and it makes you nervous, her silence always making way to scheming the usually ends up with you in some situation or another. “So, anyways, Clint’s Frat House is throwing a party tonight.” She starts walking backwards away from you, “You're going. No excuses.” Then she's gone before you can think so answer. A party. Great.

It was originally BatKnight201, which was my username on DC Universe Online, but i chose SaintOfPride201 because Batknight felt too... Unoriginal. Plus the irony of a saint of a deadly sin was cool to me.

Simply put, if you rudely demand for something, don't expect it. You're less likely to receive the help you need if you're rude or demanding.

oh my god me?? i'm the worst but ilu ok. first imma follow u immediately. second, i think the best tips would be to follow a variety of blogs, such as i follow a lot of art blogs, aesthetic blogs, dodie blogs, random other ones lol. my blog is a bit of a mess bc of my current obsession with skam but,,... anyway,..,.. it's good to have a balance of lots of stuff (i'm not too good at this but in general, try not to make like five posts in a row abt the same thing, that's just how i do it anyway)the best way to find these blogs is if u see something cool on ur feed, follow the person they reblogged that from. also i would recommend keeping ur blog relatively simple and having some sort of tagging system. (suggestions for following ppl specifically regarding dodie would be @doddlepoddle and @glowdodie and @dotsandstars but there are a million more i love as well. if u like some of the content on my blog, i would suggest following some of the ppl i reblog from maybe)good luck pal i believe in u 💖

One Last Original Content(TM) Post Before I Migrate To The “Diary-Only” Blog

in case the title is misleading, i ought to clarify that i’m still keeping this blog open, just that it’ll only be for reblogs, while all personal text stuff will be in Falcone Chronicles. (it’s still empty at the moment.) easier to find shit that way. anyway, i thought i should probably give an update on my current life situation, since the last time i wrote at length i think was pre-moving, and stuff was all dicey back then so i’m afraid i might have inadvertently caused people to worry because of the (relative) radio silence. i mean, i do reblog stuff so clearly you know i’m still alive, but probably you might be wondering about everything else i said i was doing/going to do. a bit egoistic of me to assume that the affairs of my life are cause for interest to anyone else, but, well, on more than one occasion i’ve found out that my existence apparently meant more to someone else than i thought it did, and it was really awkward and everything but anyway, the point is, i guess i’ll just be on the safe side and give an update so nobody worries. probably better to be perceived as narcissistic than to accidentally freak somebody out making them wonder indefinitely what the fuck happened to me.

in summary, 3 things happened: a) i graduated from university b) i got a job c) i moved out of my parents’ house technically i start work in august, but i list it in that order because i got the job offer before i moved out, so to my mind that comes first chronologically. so....that’s why i haven’t been writing very consistently in july. there was a lot of stuff going on, pre-work health checkup, two graduations - two (2)!!! i didn’t want to go for either of them, but you know how asian parents get with their kids’ achievements. i figured since i’m already being an unfilial child and moving out of their house and paying some random landlord rent instead of giving them the rent money (i’m still giving them money, just not as much as i could have if i wasn’t also paying rent), i might as well just give them this one pleasure. there’s free food at the ceremonies, anyway, so i saved on two days of food. they’re going to both of my brother’s graduations as well. and yes, that apostrophe is in the correct place. i have one brother. he has two (2) degrees as well. we are overachieving siblings. i pity my sister. maybe by the time she’s old enough for university she’ll be pressured into taking 3.

so.....that’s what i’ve been doing for the past month! enjoying independent life. everything’s.....pretty good so far. i didn’t get as much done as i’d envisioned i would before the move, but that’s fine, i guess. i wrongly assumed i’d have the entire july to draw and write and compose but uhhhh nope there was graduation(s) and there was pre-work health checkup and there was graduation photoshoot and there was me being an idiot and signing up for a career focus group even though i already have a job secured. i did get $20 for participating, so LOL. for a while i attempted to SocialiseTM by joining this “art journaling” club in which you meet every monday night and draw stuff according to a theme the group leader will suggest, and then after you draw you share about the stuff, but uhhh.........nope. HAHA. the point was really to try and become more......i don’t want to say “neurotypical”, because that makes it sound like i’m not - uhhhhh, i don’t know how to explain this - i wanted to be “perfect”. like connor the android from dbh. “my appearance and voice were specifically designed to enhance my integration with humans”/ “i can be whatever you want me to be, lieutenant. your partner, your buddy to drink with, or just a machine, accomplishing a task.” i wanted to be the Model Citizen, “always accomplish(ing) my mission”. and like, i have my academics, i have my music, i have my art - but my social skills.......are shit, to put it bluntly. and like that’s been the biggest problem in my life. that’s why i gave up law to go into scientific research. the workload doesn’t faze me, it’s the social aspect of the law industry that scares me. like, my friends who are working now, they have to go to their bosses’ CNY parties?!?!?! i will just die, okay??! in the lab, i don’t have to worry about the appropriate amount of eye contact to make. i don’t have to make small talk. i don’t have to worry about body language because i’ll just be hunched over my microscope and my specimens all day long. my boss and colleagues won’t care if i can’t understand their jokes over drinks nights. and.....i’m really, really happy to have this job, don’t get me wrong, it is like, 90-95% of the way to an ideal situation already (the ideal situation would be a microbiology or genomic lab, not radiobiology, but what even are the odds of getting exactly what you want? this is already as close to perfect as possible, and i’m really glad for it.) but sometimes i feel like a failure, giving up on a lucrative career because i didn’t want to put the effort into improving my social skills. but then again, i moved out because i didn’t wanna act for my parents, so why the hell should i have to act for strangers? so i decided, fuck it, i’m gonna just - be me, i guess. i’m gonna do whatever the fuck weird things i wanna do so long as they don’t hurt anybody. if i wanna eat the same fucking thing every day imma do it. if i wanna sit at my computer and rewatch a 3-second clip of a cat saying “nooooo” for hours on end i’mma do it. if i don’t wanna hang out i shan’t hang out. i’m done trying to please everyone. i earned my freedom (well, technically still paying for it, i have SO MUCH STUDENT LOANS :O) and i’m gonna spend it damn well how i please. it ain’t illegal nor morally wrong to sit at home and stare at fish all day.
