MC is meant to be "inconsistent" with the boys because she has a different relationship dynamic with each one. It took a long time for her to be "nice" to Rafayel, and even now there are options to tease and bully him. The people who say MC is mean and want her to be worried about him are misogynists who believe women owe men who show affection or sacrifice anything. If Sylus was ugly and they thought him cringe, they would not be saying she owes him any kindness for his feelings or choices to save her. In fact, they would see it as him being disrespectful of her boundaries when she already said "no." Let's not forget she blocked him from socials but he still saw her posts through Luke and Kieran. This behavior would NOT fly if Sylus were the men these people might have faced IRL who don't take no for an answer and expect reciprocation and pursue women to exhaust them into a relationship on the excuse that it's "courtship."

Long reply ahead because I think your opinion is incorrect. I wish to simply debate your statement and it is by no means an attack towards you or your opinions but simply a discussion of it.

Firstly, about the MC’s change in personality, I don’t really know, as I mentioned, because I didn’t look too deeply at MC’s dialogue and I’m still relatively new to the game. It’s just a vibe I got and I thought it was worth noting. Your argument does stand. She could simply be reacting differently depending on the boy but again, I haven’t looked into it.

As for the rest:

Let me rephrase your statement so we’re sure we’re on the same page. You believe that people think MC should be nicer to Sylus because of misogyny. Misogyny is the dislike and prejudice against women, meaning you believe that these people have a level of engrained hate/prejudice that makes them favor a man over the MC, a women. Specifically because he’s conventionally attractive. And if he wasn’t conventionally attractive, people wouldn’t want MC to be nice to him, they would even go as far as to hate him for his behaviors. Correct?

I hope that you were simply trying to educate me on the matter and not accusing me, because if you were, we need to have a different conversation all together. I’ll still reassure you and say that it’s not the case for me. I wasn’t condemning her behavior in my post, nor was I condoning it. I even stated that MC has the right to be mean, and honestly, I considered her too kind at first.

And I agree that some of his behavior is terrifying in real life. I would even venture to say that it shouldn’t be romanticized and that Infold shouldn’t have taken so much inspiration from dark romance to begin with. I’ll never excuse his behavior nor should anyone. HOWEVER, this is a fictional character. As long as these behaviors remain fictional and aren’t being accepted or sought or romanticized IRL, I think people should like what they like even if we don’t understand why they like it.

But I’m diverging.

We're trying to understand the answer to this question: Why are people upset enough by how mean MC can seem towards Sylus? And let’s not focus on the game but on the fandom.

I believe that it’s far more simple than misogyny. Players like Sylus. MC is supposed to be an insert for the players. MC perceived as mean to Sylus. Players don’t want to be mean to Sylus because they like his character. Thus, MC is no longer a proper self-insert for the players. The immersion is broken. Players are angry.

I think that the players would be just as angry if MC was mean to any of the other LIs in a way that they didn’t see as fair. And I’m not talking about teasing. I’m talking mean enough to break the immersion. And I think that for a lot of people, at least those complaining, this breaks their immersion and dampens their enjoyment of the game. I could be incorrect but I've seen this happen in other fandom for other games.

From now on, I’m just babbling but I think it’s worth mentioning. What I do believe is misogyny is more fandom on fandom hate rather than hate for MC. Let me explain. I’ve seen on tiktok creators getting harassed for not liking certain LIs, mischaracterizing the LIs, and for out of character headcanons. The creators that were harassed and that I know of are women and they were attacked by other women for the sake of a fictional male character. That can be argued to be misogyny and this is where we should direct our focus towards instead, making this fandom a community a safe space for everyone even if we don’t agree on certain things or like the same characters.

MONTHLY MFIP UPDATE✨✨

Hey folks 🦐 I finally got the chance to make this month’s MFIP Update cuz god damn life was kicking my ass. College is fine for the most part tbh, just a lot of reading and writing cuz of the specific classes I chose. HOWEVER I have 💥FUCKING PMDD💥 so um skill issue on my part but it’s why I’ve been kinda exhausted as shit this week and was late with the update so my bad folks! (Also for more info on PMDD, click here! I don’t wanna spend this post yapping about it but wanted to leave a resource to spread awareness just in case :3). Also, Imma be tagging some of y'all who have been reading/supporting MFIP consistently just for this post, so yk you guys actually know these updates exist. I was gonna do that for the first ever update but as with many things, I forgor, so I'm doing it now! They’re supposed to come out on the 18th of every month, but yk sometimes life happens and I’m a lil late. It won’t be any earlier than the 18th tho so look out for these once it hits that date! Anywho, cheers to this month’s update!

Alrighty so obvious new thing, WE GOT RAPH’S REF SHEEEEEEEET TEEHEEEEEEE

BRO IM SO HYPE ABOUT IT! It turned out so genuinely amazing and I’m ridiculously proud of it! Especially cuz I honestly thought Raph was gonna be a harder design to figure out yk? I’m not used to drawing his body type, I wasn’t as familiar with his outfit, and even tho I’ve sketched him a few times before, I was just a bit nervous with Raph. Funfact, he’s also been the hardest to figure out how to write back when I was first starting MFIP. I genuinely don’t know why, but I got there eventually (I actually really love writing him now—) and same thing happened with his design!

Since MFIP’s taking place a few months after the Krang invasion, i’m able to take creative liberties and update the boys’ designs more! For some clarification btw, in my story’s lore, the invasion took place in September 2020, and MFIP starts on March 2021. Anywhizzle, my ideas for the boys’ designs is to combine their movie look with their show look, cuz while I do LOVE the black on them, it doesn’t feel right to me to not make them still unique in their own ways. These guys are all about authenticity, so why make their gear exactly the same, ya get me? I basically recolored his show gear to be black and red (and added a lil asymmetry on his legs) cuz I think it makes Raph feel older and more sure about himself, just feels right for him! I also just think the red fade on the black is hella cool! Fun lil color theory i think application, the black is more of a really dark, inky blue, so it makes the red pop out even more! I decided to make a bow out of his mask tails, too! I don’t wanna spoil the entire lore reasoning for it yet (it’ll pop up in the story), but I can indeed say it’s intentional that it looks a little like a lunamoth with damaged tails :3 I also took a BUNCH of creative liberties with his sais’ handles, since we haven’t really seen it much so like idk gaslight yourselves into thinking it’s always been this epic✨✨

Also I gave him his shorts back because FUCK YOU I LIKED THE RED TRIMMMM—

OH I ALMOST FORGOT yes he has longer eyelashes! I saw he grows to have really pretty eyelashes in the future cuz of his turtle species, and I wanted to lean into that by showing they’re starting to grow now :3

There ain’t shit to say about this, I just pulled a silly. I saw the fact Donnie was supposed to have a “Doctor Donatello” persona in the deleted episode where Dale turns into a werewolf. I’m really heavily on the train of Leo being the team medic and into medicine in general. I don’t think it makes sense for Donnie to be the medic judging by his sensory issues and this mf being as much of a germaphobe as my mom, and in my opinion it felt too stereotypical anyway to have Donnie be the medic. Ofc, to each their own, and this is just my interpretation of it, but I thought it’d be funny if Donnie still had this persona and was passionate about it, but was like horrifically bad at being a doctor. I made this dumbass sketch that I’ll finish sometime in the future (it’s gonna be a chapter in Arc 3 probably) and I just wanted to share it with yall~

Chapter Progress Time Whoop Whoooop‼️‼️

I didn’t make much progress on anything this month due to college—again, it’s fine, but there’s a shit ton of time management going on in my part to just manage everything and make sure I’m on track—BUT I am indeed still working on chapter 10. We’re up to 20 pages now which is only two more pages written from last month, but it’s kinda cool writing Donnie and I feel like I’m getting a better understanding of him! One thing I’ve been tryna do is understand autism better as a condition cuz I do wanna acknowledge and show bro’s autism instead of just ignoring it due to a lack of understanding. Donnie ain’t Donnie without it, ya know? I don’t know everything and tbh I would say I still have A LOT to learn on the subject matter, but I’m tryna expand my knowledge every opportunity I get and experimenting with how to better show it! This is to say tho, I’M NOT A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL, NOR AN EXPERT ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM. This is what I’m finding and comprehending via my own research, and can tbh end up being wrong so please don’t quote me as a reliable source, I’m still learning ;v;

I remember one of the things I kept hearing about was autism leading people to struggle with empathy. The best way I heard it being described was someone bringing the example of when their friend was upset. That person can’t truly feel their friend’s emotions because they’re not the one experiencing it, so can’t properly understand how it’s making their friend feel. But they can see that their friend is communicating their sadness, and they still try to comfort them and make sure their friend knows they’re there for support. I understood it as bringing logic to emotions in a sense; collecting data and figuring out how to handle the situation based on the data rather than using intuition alone.

I’ve been using that to figure out how Donnie might handle more emotionally subtle situations, where he might try to rationally work through what’s happening and kinda substitute it in place of natural empathy. Like the little tidbit I gave above! Instead of just automatically being able to get vibes that the other person is upset, I felt maybe Donnie would instead notice the fact their tone is kinda different from before; it’s basically a data point. With that data point in mind, he could connect it to past experiences where a tone change could indicate a mood change, and as a result he might conclude that Salena’s tone change means she’s upset. I comprehend it as manually working through empathy rather than it being second nature, if that makes sense. Obviously and thankfully Donnie isn’t gonna spend the entire chapter playing a guessing game or anything with Salena’s emotions, it’s just one lil moment that I thought was cool challenge to myself with when writing him! I really love putting myself in the characters’ shoes when I’m writing them or their dialogue. I highly recommend it as a tool too, since it's helped me a lot with staying in character!

Aight so, I wanted to try doing something cool if y'all are up for it. I really love rambling about my story and lore and characters blah blah blah, but I don't really know how to do so tbh. I'm not that familiar with how social medias work cuz I just never took it seriously, and I don't wanna just keep being like HEYYYYY ASK BOX IS OPENNNNN like I'm screaming from the top of the hill either. Sooooo insteaddddd

I think it'd be fun to do Q&As here! Or at least something similar. so here’s a list of some of the wips i got going on rn: (putting a cut cuz i yap)

1. a joemarr time travel au that has been in the works since october that the wonderful chasedeys came up w and let me write a version of it!!! (she probably doesn’t even remember me asking to write about it cuz it’s been so long 😭😭)

it’s also taking forever because i want it to be multiple chapters and who knew how hard it would be to write the pov’s between the past and the future 😮‍💨😮‍💨 (so this one is most likely going to be my next post because imma put out a couple chapters at different times!!!)

2. a koc/jj smutty Christmas fic 😼😼 (I CANT FOR THE LIFE OF ME figure out how to write a player/couch dynamic) every time i think im getting the hang out it, i reread it and delete it cuz i hate it😭😭 so that one might take a while!!

3. stef/josh angsty reunion. basically they see each other again, outside of the football field (maybe during offseason or sum??) and they finally talk about everything yk?? just a very emotional fic tho with all the angsty and eventually fluff (and probably smut 😭)

4. another stef/josh EXCEPT it has nothing to do with football and it’s a Hallmark au. like city boy Stefon meets farmer boy Josh out in butt fuck nowhere after Stefon’s plane has to have an emergency landing due to weather or some shit like that. and it’s all the cliches of a Hallmark movie. the small town community, trying to save the local bakery, Stefon not liking Christmas that much, Josh teaching him Christmas is more than just Santa and presents, it’ll even start snowing when the kiss. like i wanna go full out!!

but that ones gonna take a while too cuz it would be fully from scratch and i wouldn’t have anything to go off of (if that makes sense??😭)

5. Joemarr in France during the Paris fashion week!!! this was actually asked by an anon a while ago and i still haven’t finished it😔 (IM SO SORRY ANON!!!😓) but basically it’s them in France together and just up to no good yk?? (plus some smut cuz Ja’marr wouldn’t be able to hold himself back after see Joe’s outfit!!!)

Yo, Khali! I've watched an analysis of the last Ruination cinematic by Necrit and it gave me a thought (Riot can't keep Viego trapped for an eternity cause it's kind of like deleting him from the lore).

Imagine that. When he was in charge, the Black Mist was searching for Isolde, claiming lives in the process but the latter was never its primary task. All that mattered was his queen. Now that Thresh took over I'm... pretty certain it's gonna get a whole lot worse. All the Warden wants is to grow in power and enlarge his collection of souls to torment. I can imagine how wrong that can get.

So the Mist runs wild, destroying life (not taking over Runeterra necessarily but still) and it's getting worse with each Harrowing. Sentinels, even if they manage to recruit more people, won't be able to stop this (since if I remember properly from the VN, Thresh can pretty much beat like.. 12 people with one smack so...). I'm counting on the logic of "If you can't beat a f**ker, sic another f**ker on him". And it would be a very bad idea XD

Viego gets released (carefully) and though he's stripped of much of his power and control over the Mist, he's still gonna be pissed. And then he gets an ultimatum. He will be given back his power (Senna took it, according to the cinematic) if he helps them stop (or at least occupy) Thresh.

And if he doesn't agree, the argument he gets is "This lil b**ch has taken your place and he's even worse somehow and we need someone to show him his place. Oh, and btw, he's the reason you lost Isolde again. He kinda told us about the Absolver and led us to Akshan who killed her again." No doubt it would rile him up just right. I bet his reaction would be something like "The mf'er did WHAT? Gimme my Mist back, Imma kick his ass all the way to the goddamn Void." 😂😂😂

I just love the conversation at the end of this ask, especially the "Imma kick his all the way to the goddamn Void."

But yes, I do think Riot will set him free, eventually. And oh dear god, what will happen to Thresh's simps?

Plus we still have that Ruined King game and I imagine Viego's the main character, so yeah, I think Riot will set him free.

So I’m writing chapter/part 7 of Journey Back to the South, right? And I wrote two folk lores for part 5. And I was torn which one was gonna be there.... (This is all happening at like 3:00 am btw): So eventually decided to go with the story of the Great Lights and Kok.

But Imma fucking idiot and when I copy pasted the one out and deleted the other document file, and it was actually the wrong one. I copied the Great light story twice.

So the folklore is gone now. And I worked SO FUCKING HARD ON IT TOO. Like all night!!!

I know that was two chapters ago, but I JUST realized what I did when I went looking for it.

I know I can’t just rewrite it. But it hurts... ok?? It huuuurts!

I know my happiness depends TOO MUCH on fictional characters and stories, but that's cause my reality just cooperates with my vision of life as something pointless.

White Angels Have No Rest ended and it was a good end for me, but it's still over, so... yep, it's a lost item for the list above. I had fun translating it tho.

I'm supposed to get my diploma this year and I'm not entirely sure what I'll do with my life afterwards since I certainly don't wanna follow this carrer path professionally anymore.

I'll eventually have to confront my parents on me being bisexual and I'm dreading it cause it's definitely gonna get ugly.

I finished Muted and everything turned out fine in the end, but I don't have money to afford new content.

THE FACT THAT I CAN'T PLAY LOVESTRUCK ANYMORE HURTS ME MORE THAN WORDS CAN DESCRIBE.
