Anyone whom Allah has granted wealth or authority, beauty or splendour, should take it as Allah's Gift. He should take to adopt humility and humbleness and express his gratitude for it to Allah. He should benefit people with the gifts bestowed upon him by Allah and not make them a means of pride and oppression. (Commentary By Al-Imam An-Nawawi رحمه الله)
The Hadeeth shows that oppression is a grievous matter. It evokes a concern from Allah to have explained to His slaves that no one should transgress against another. Likewise, a person should be humble for the sake of Allah and be humble to the truth. Allah alone grants success. (Commentary on Riyaad as-Saliheen By: Sheikh Muhammad bin Salih al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله)

🍃🕊🍃 Wiladat Anniversary of Imam Zaynal al-Abideen (as) 5th Sha’ban 🍃
🍃 Birth 🍃
In the period of the second caliph “Ummer”, the Muslims conquered Iran. The daughters of Yazdgard were brought to Madina.
All had gathered in the mosque of Madina to see what was the decision of the caliph, about them. He wanted to sell them but Imam Ali (as) stopped him from doing so and said to Urnmer, “leave the girls free so that they marry whosoever they wish.”
One of the girls chose Imam Hussain (as) and the other chose Imam Hasan (as). Imam Ali (as) said to Hussain, “Look after this woman very well, because, from her an Imam will come into existence (born) who will be the best of the God’s creations upon the earth and the father of all the Imams (after himself).
Not very long after that the sun of his existence arose, on Thursday, the 5th of Sha’ban, 38th Hijrah, in Madina.
He was named “Ali” later on titled as Zaynal al-Abideen (as) (the decoration of the worshippers) and Sajjad (one who performs much prostration).
🍃 The Ethical and Moral Characteristics of Imam (as) 🍃
1. Piety and Abstinence:
One of the special features of Imam’s character was his piety and abstinence. Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (as) said, “Ali Ibn-ul-Hussain (as) resembled most of all the sons of Bani Hashim, with Ali (as)”.
His son Imam Muhammad Baqir (as) said, “One day I happened to see my father, I saw him (completely) immersed and (thoroughly pre occupied) in the prayers and with all the attention towards God. His color was faded and his eyes were sore and red due to weeping, his feet were swollen by (prostration) and legs, and knees had developed corns. I said humbly “Oh father, why do you loose your self control during the prayers and put yourself in such an inconvenience and discomfort. My father wept and said, “Oh son however and whatsoever amount of prayers I perform even then it is meager and very little as compared to the prayers of your grandfather, “Ali Ibn-Abi Talib.”
Taous Yamni says, I saw Imam lying in prostration saying, “Oh God your servant, needy towards you, is in your house waiting for your blessing, forgiveness and favor”.
2. Attention to the life and training of people:
Imam Zaynalal-Abideen (as), like his grandfather, was busy in cultivating land and palm date orchards. He offered two Rakat of prayer near each palm date tree. During the prayers he would get himself so absorbed that he did not have any attention towards anything except God. He traveled to Mecca, on foot, twenty times. And continuously guided and conducted people through the attractive melody of the Qur’anic verses.
All the human qualities and attributes were collectively present in his personality. He was the complete specimen of tolerance, forgiveness and self-sacrifice. He looked after and administrated hundreds of houses of the poor and hunger stricken. Daily a number of goats were slaughtered in his house and he distributed all their meat among the afflicted. He dressed the naked and dress less ones and paid their debts and loans. But he himself took simple meals and put on simple dress.
A person came to Ali Ibn-ul-Hussain (as) and started addressing him with filthy and abusive language. Imam (as) turned his face towards him without the slightest anger and quarrel or strife and said, “Oh brother, if what you say is right and correct and these vices are present in me then God may pardon and forgive my sin. And if you are telling a lie then God may forgive you and pardon your sin.”
The man was very much ashamed and asked Imam (as) to pardon him. Abu Hamza Somali who was one of the friends of Imam (as) asked his servant to briefly define the character and morals of Imam (as). He said so, “I am at his service for so many years. Whatever I saw was righteousness, piety and purity. My lord helps and assists the people and solves their problems, with all the difficulties worries and pre occupations that he himself faces. Zaid bin Usama was lying on the deathbed. Imam Sajjad (as) visited him, Zaid was weeping. When Imam (as) asked him the reason of his weeping he said, “I have to pay fifteen thousand Dinnars as my loan and debt and my wealth is not so much as to pay off the debt.” Imam said, “Do not weep and be contented, I will pay all of your loan.”
When the nights would become dark and all the people went to sleep, Imam Sajjad (as) would get up put the food in a sack and on his shoulder. He covered his face so that he is not recognized. Then he took that food to the houses of the inflicted and have-nots and gave it to them.
He administrated and looked after nearly a hundred guardians less family in Madina, most of them comprised indigent, helpless and crippled, handicapped and paralytic ones.
What a surprise! None of these families knew that Imam Zaynal al-Abideen (as) was the one who managed and run their lives.
But after his death, when the aids were discontinued they came to know that Imam (as) was their helper and friend.
🍃 Imam Sajjad (as) and the Sahifa-e-Sajjadia
When the Imam got stuck in a tight corner and was virtually besieged he was obliged to state his objects and motive in the form of the prayers. These prayers have been compiled in the shape of a book named “Sahifa-e-Sajjadia.” This is an ocean of topics and objects of science, mathematics, physics, astronomy, social and political sciences and ethics. Obviously and apparently this is a book of prayers.
But, in fact, this is the expression of fact, pains, and difficulties. We present here a few sentences of it as a specimen.
1. Oh God! I take asylum and refuge with you from the revolt, and rebellious (attitude) refractoriness, of the anger and jealousy and the scarcity of patience, and extravagance and intemperance in life.
Oh God! Keep me alive till my life is led in your service and obedience and when it becomes the pasture and meadow of Satan, take me towards yourself and take my life.”
2. Oh sons! Respect you father and mother because if the father was not there you would not have come into existence. Look at the mother that she looks after you with all of her existence (energies). She is not afraid of it that she herself remains hungry and feeds you. She herself remains cloth less (without dress) and covers (dresses) you. She remains in the sun and places you in the Shadow. You cannot thank her. This is God who has the power of thanking her (giving her the reward).
3. Watch over and attend your child because his good or bad (virtues) are related and connected to you and you are responsible for his training and guidance.
4. Be kind to your brother and sister because he/she is your hand (helper) and your power. Help him against the enemy and be his well wisher.
5. Respect your teacher and be polite in his assembly (session) and listen carefully to his words. Do not talk loudly before him. If somebody questions him about something do not reply before he does although you may know the answer to that (question).
6. Respect your neighbor and help and assist him. If you happen to observe a fault or sin of him do hide it and when he slips (commits sin) admonish him.
7. Be just in your conduct and behavior with friend and love him as he loves you. If he makes up his mind to commit a sin stop him from that and always be a blessing for him, not a torment for him.

SALATUL ISTISQA (Prayer for Rain)
Al-Istisqa (الاستسقاء ) literally means to seek rain, and technically in Islamic Shariah, it means to seek rain from Almighty Allah in situations of drought, sterility etc. through the prayer which has a specific method. Salatul-Istisqa or prayer for rain is seeking rain(water) from Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) during drought and times of low rainfall.
It is Sunnah of Prophet (SallAllahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam). Rain is a special blessing of Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) for living things. When no rain or drought condition arises, Muslims gather and supplicate from Allah (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) and ask for His blessing.
Abdullah bin Zaid Al-Ansari (Radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrated:
The Prophet (ﷺ) went out towards the Musalla (prayer place) in order to offer the Istisqa’ prayer and when he intended to invoke or started invoking (Allah), he faced the Qiblah and turned his cloak inside out.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1028
Method of Salatul-Istisqa (Prayer for Rain):
Hisham bin Ishaq (Radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrated and he was from Ibn Abdullah bin Kinanah (Radiyallahu ‘anhu) – from his father who said: “Al-Walid bin Uqbah (Radiyallahu ‘anhu), the governor of Al-Madinah, sent me to ask Ibn Abbas (Radiyallahu ‘anhum) about how the Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam) would perform Salat Al-Istisqa. I came to him and he said:
‘The Messenger of Allah (SallAllahu ‘alaihi wa Sallam) would go out in a modest dress, humbly, imploring, until he reached the Musalla. He would not give this Khutbah (sermon) of yours, rather, he would continue supplication and imploring saying the Takbir, and pray two (2) Rak’ah, just as he would pray for the Eid.'”
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 558
Abbad bin Tamim (Radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrated :
“The Prophet (ﷺ) went out to the Musalla (prayer place) to offer the Istisqa prayer(prayer of rain), faced the Qiblah and offered a two Rak’ ah prayer and turned his cloak inside out.” Abu Bakr (Radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrated, “The Prophet (ﷺ) put the right side of his cloak on his left side.”
Sahih al-Bukhari 1027
Time for Prayer of Rain
The timing for the Istisqa prayer is anytime when one can offer Nafl (optional prayers). Most recommended is forenoon which is time for Eid Salah.
Place To Offer Prayer
It is desirable to offer rain prayer in open grounds or place where Eid prayer is performed, outside the Mosque.
Rakah’s in Prayer
This prayer is two Raka’at with a loud recitation in both and without Adhaan and Iqamah, similar to Eid prayer. It is preferred to recite Surah Al-A’laa chapter 87, in the first rak’ ah, and Surah Al-Ghashiyah chapter 88 in the second rak’ ah.
Supplication after Prayer
The imam should prolong supplications and repentance and guide people to do these.
Recomendations for prayer:
Imam and people will go on feet and wear daily-use dresses.
All must be in the mood of full submission and obedience and show respect.
Imam will deliver sermon (Khutbah) standing on earth.
Men should flip their cloak, shawl or upper garment, i.e. to obey Sunnah and showing a gesture of change from drought to prosperity.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Al-Isra Ayah 23-24
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
17:23 And your Lord has Qada (decreed) that you worship none but Him.
And that you be dutiful to your parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect, nor reprimand them but address them in terms of honor.
17:24 And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say:
"My Lord! Bestow on them Your mercy as they did bring me up when I was young.''
The Command to Worship Allah Alone and to be Dutiful to One's Parents
Allah says,
And your Lord has Qada (decreed) that you worship
none but Him.
Allah commands us to worship Him alone, with no partner or associate.
The word Qada (normally having the meaning of decree) here means "commanded''.
Mujahid said that;
.And He has Qada) means enjoined(
This is also how Ubayy bin Ka`b, Ibn Mas`ud and Ad-Dahhak bin Muzahim recited the Ayah as:
"And your Lord has Wassa (enjoined) that you worship none but Him.''
The idea of worshipping Allah is connected to the idea of honoring one's parents.
Allah says:
And that you be dutiful to your parents.
Here He commands good treatment of parents, as He says elsewhere:
give thanks to Me and to your parents. Unto Me is the final destination. (31:14)
If one of them or both of them attain old age in your life, say not to them a word of disrespect,
means, do not let them hear anything offensive from you, not even say "Uff!'' which is the mildest word of disrespect,
and do not reprimand them,
means, do not do anything horrible to them.
Ata' bin Rabah said that it meant,
"Do not raise your hand against them.''
When Allah forbids speaking and behaving in an obnoxious manner, He commands speaking and behaving in a good manner, so He says:
but address them in terms of honor.
meaning gently, kindly, politely, and with respect and appreciation.
And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy,
means, be humble towards them in your actions.
and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was young.''
means, say this when they grow old and when they die.
Ibn Abbas said: "But then Allah revealed:
It is not (proper) for the Prophet and those who believe to ask Allah's forgiveness for the idolators. ..'' (9:13)
There are many Hadiths which speak about honoring one's parents, such as the Hadith narrated through a number of chains of narration from Anas and others, which states that the Prophet climbed up on the Minbar, and then said,
Amin, Amin, Amin.
It was said, "O Messenger of Allah, why did you say
Amin.'' He said:
Jibril came to me and said,
"O Muhammad, he is doomed who hears you mentioned and does not say Salla upon you.'' He said, "Say Amin,'' so I said Amin.
Then he said,
"He is doomed who sees the month of Ramadan come and go, and he has not been forgiven.'' He said, "Say Amin,'' so I said Amin.
Then he said,
"He is doomed who grows up and both his parents or one of them are still alive, and they do not cause him to enter Paradise.'' He said, "Say Amin,'' so I said Amin.
Another Hadith
Imam Ahmad reported from Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet said:
He is doomed, he is doomed, he is doomed, the man whose parents, one or both of them, reach old age while he is alive and he does not enter Paradise.
This version is Sahih although no one recorded it other than Muslim.
Another Hadith
Imam Ahmad recorded Mu`awiyah bin Jahimah As-Salami saying that Jahimah came to the Prophet and said:
"O Messenger of Allah, I want to go out to fight and I have come to seek your advice.''
He said,
Do you have a mother? He said, "Yes.''
The Prophet said,
Then stay with her, for Paradise is at her feet.
Similar incidents were also recorded by others. This was recorded by An-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah.
Another Hadith
Imam Ahmad recorded that Al-Miqdam bin Ma`dikarib said that the Prophet said:
• Allah enjoins you concerning your fathers,
• Allah enjoins you concerning your mothers,
• Allah enjoins you concerning your mothers,
• Allah enjoins you concerning your mothers,
• Allah enjoins you concerning your close relatives then the next in closeness.
This was recorded by Ibn Majah from the Hadith of Abdullah bin Ayyash.
Another Hadith
Ahmad recorded that a man from Banu Yarbu said:
"I came to the Prophet while he was talking to the people, and I heard him saying,
The hand of the one who gives is superior.
• (Give to) your mother and your father,
• your sister and your brother,
• then the closest and next closest.''

#QuoteOfTheDay (20240201):
Menjelang wafat, kerendahhatian masih sangat tampak padanya. Lantas kemudian beliaumenangis.

Hisham bin al-Hakam narrated:
I said to Abu Abdullah, Sayedna Imam Jafar al-Sadiq (عليه السلام),
‘Inform me about what the prostrations are allowed upon, and about what it is not allowed?’
Imam said:
‘The prostrations are not allowed except upon the earth or what the earth grows, excluding what is eaten or worn’.
So I said to Imam,
‘May I be sacrificed for you! What is the reason with regards to that?’
Imam said:
‘Because the prostration, it is the humbleness to Allah (جل جلاله) Mighty and Majestic, so it is not befitting that it should happen upon what is eaten or worn, because the sons of the world are enslaved to what they are eating and they are wearing, and the prostrator in his prostration, is in the worship of Allah (جل جلاله) the High, therefore it is not befitting that he should place his forehead during his prostration upon a thing which the sons of the world are enslaved to, and have been deceived by its deception. And the prostration upon the earth is the most preferable, because it reaches in the reverence and the humbleness to Allah (جل جلاله) Mighty and Majestic’.

Lady Zainab (pbuh) and the Best Worship ❤️
Lady Zainab (pbuh) warned Yazid son of Muawiya ❤️
The key to success for every distinguished human being is worshiping and obeying Allah (SWT), since the purpose of creation of mankind is nothing but worship.
However, worship has a broad meaning and is not restricted to praying or fasting. In his book of "Mufradat", Raghib Isfahani states that "Worshiping and obedience means to express humbleness and humility".
It means that worship has a more inclusive meaning which is ultimate humility and humbleness.
Fatimah, daughter of Imam Hussain (as), has narrated the situation of Lady Zainab (pbuh) on the night before Ashura as follows:
"On the night before Ashura, my aunt Zainab was standing in her place for worship and was supplicating to Allah (SWT). On that night, no one amongst us got to sleep and the voice of our cries was never interrupted".
Worshiping, with its inclusive meaning, is observed in all the behaviors and characteristics of Lady Zainab (pbuh).
She remained patient in all the difficulties and tragedies that happened to her to the extent that patience became impatient over her patience, and all these were considered as acts of worship for her.
Is there any act of worship greater than offering two beloved children for the sake of the Noble Qur'an and the Ahlul Bayt (as), and becoming mournful over losing six brothers such as Imam Hussain (as) and Hazrat Abbas (as)?
Is there a greater act of worship than wearing the veil of captivity in which she was examined tens of times and she passed all successfully?
And finally, is there any act of worship greater than continuing the rising of her brother, delivering fiery sermons in the path of Kufa and Syria, and awakening ignorant people who were deceived by poisonous propaganda of Yazid son of Muawiya and martyred Imam Hussain (as) as a man who was out of Islam!
Her sermons created a movement in Kufa and Damascus which shook the bases of Yazid's kingdom and even Yazid's son refused to replace his father as the king, and after a while, quitted the government while disgracing the oppressing dynasty of Umayyads.
In her sermon, Lady Zainab (pbuh) warned Yazid son of Muawiya about the Hereafter and said, "Fear the day on which the judge is Allah (SWT), and Muhammad (saw) himself will plead for justice. O Yazid! On that day the organs and members of people will testify against them, and it is on that day that the punishment of the oppressors will be realized".
Of course, the greatest act of worship of Lady Zainab (pbuh) was preaching and giving advice with which she continued the tradition of the Prophets (pbut) and the infallible Imams (pbuh).

Solat Jamaah
Kayaaaak.. can you just imagine, semua bapak²nya saling mempersilahkan buat jadi imam. Wkwkwkwk, lucu deh.
Tau kenapa? Karena setelah jadi imam, harus kasih one day one hadis wkwkwkwk, they just try to be humble, makanya suka malu² klo nyampein hadis.
Hadits Anjuran meminta surga Firdaus
Dari Anas bin Malik radhiyallahu ‘anhu, Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda
(HR. Imam Ahmad No. 12585.
(Riwayat Ahmad dalam Musnad juz 5 hal 321 no. 23118).
Ijtihad Doa utk menjembatani 2 Hadits di atas:

🥀🕯🥀 Lady Fatima al-Zahra (sa) the Mother of her Father 🥀🕯🥀
Sheikh Mansour Leghaei
🥀🕯🥀 Introduction 🥀🕯🥀
In the Name of God; the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Lady Fatima, the lady of light has an elevated status in the eyes of Allah due to her childhood sacrifices and support towards the religion of Islam. She is ‘the mother of her father and is an axis to great qualities. The mutual affection between Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) and her is unique and holds a very prominent position in father-daughter relationship.
Abu-Faraj al-Isfahani in his Isnad narrated from Imam Sadiq (A.S) from his father: “Verily, Fatima (S.A) was surnamed ‘Omme Abiha’.”
[Beharul-Anwaar, vol43 p.19 from Maqatelu-Talebin]
‘Omme Abiha’ or ‘The Mother of her Father’ is one of the best-known titles of Lady Fatima (peace be upon her). This title sounds quite peculiar for many people especially those who are less familiar with the Arabic language. This lecture is a humble interpretation of the abovementioned Hadith. I shall by the Will of Allah suggest 10 reasons because of which she enjoyed this unique title.
Fatima was the daughter of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W), the wife of Imam Ali (A.S), the mother of the only two Masters of the Youth of Paradise- Imam Hasan and Imam Husain- and the mother of the 11 infallible Imams (peace be upon them all). She is the elite of the elite women of the past, present and future. She was an infallible martyr and a human huri. She was the crystallization of piety, chastity and real devotee of the Almighty Allah. Her virtues are so numerous that the Messenger of Allah said about her: “If beauty were a person it would be Fatima, Nay! She is greater. Indeed, Fatima is my daughter and the best of the people of the earth in her origin, dignity and honour.” [Fara`edoh-Samtayn vol.2 p.68]
Fatima had a short life in this world and as her husband Imam Ali (A.S) has described, “She joined her father very soon.” Yet, her life was so rich with abundant blessings so much so that she became al-Kauthar and the fountain of the Prophetic blessings.
🕯 Childhood 🕯
Fatima was born during the Prophetic mission and when the Prophet of Islam had reached his perfection. She was the only child of the house of Prophet Muhammad and Sayyeda Khadija (S.A). Her conception was heavenly blessed with the paradisiacal fruit gifted to her father at the time of his ascension. She was brought up in a house wherein revelation and the words of God were constant. She witnessed the descending and ascending of the angels. Her physical growth accomplished with her mental and spiritual growth and hence she became an infallible lady who enjoyed the sublime virtues of her father, the holy Prophet of Islam.
🕯 After the demise of her mother 🕯
Lady Khadija died 10 years after the Prophet of Islam declared his mission and left her five-year-old daughter an orphan. The richest lady of Quraiysh at the time of her death could not even afford a simple shroud for her burial and hence she requested her daughter to ask her father to shroud her with his own cloak after her death. Fatima was since the only memory of Khadija for the Prophet of Islam. After the painful death of her mother the young Fatima dedicated herself to her father, the Messenger of God. During the hardship of Makka she was not only a supportive daughter but a comrade. After her marriage with Imam Ali in Medina, initially her house was quite a distance from the mosque which would make traveling to the Prophet quite difficult. Thus, the Prophet arranged that the young couple live in the house of Haritha bin No’man whose house was near the house of the Prophet. [ibn Sa’ad, al Tabaqaat vol 8 p14]
🕯 The Female Comrade of the Holy Prophet (S) 🕯
Fatima was not the type of girl who sat at home weaving or sewing with no social responsibility. Her exalted spirit had made her from the very early stages of her life, endeavor for the spread of Islam with her father.
Once, the Prophet of Islam was inviting people to Islam inside the Masjidul Haraam. Abu Jahl made some of his puppets pour rubbish onto the Prophet. Fatima; the female comrade of the Prophet immediately ran towards her father and with her small hands cleaned the head and the shoulders of the Prophet of Islam.
Many a time the infidels of Quraiysh stoned the Messenger of God and the young Fatima was sometimes shielding her father with her own body. Her care and compassion towards the Messenger of God was so motherly and passionate. Every time the Messenger of God came home Fatima was dusting the hair and face of the Prophet. It was due to all this compassionate conduct of Fatima that the Messenger of God had such tremendous love for her.
The role of Fatima in her support and the spread of Islam was so vital that according to Imam Ali (A.S) she was considered the second pillar of Islam. After the martyrdom of Fatima Zahra (S.A) Imam Ali stated, “The messenger of God was the first column of Islam and Fatima was the second and the Islamic Ommah today has lost its second column too.
Fatima During the Islamic Battles
Fatima was a woman and as such jihad was not obligatory on her. Nonetheless, she was an active participant and a supporter of the Muslim warriors along with her father and husband. During battles, Fatima had the responsibility of nursing the wounded soldiers and repairing their artillery. When the rumor about the martyrdom of the Messenger of God was spread in Medina during the battle of Ohud, Fatima mobilized some of the ladies of Medina to the battlefield.
When she saw her father’s, teeth broken and bleeding she was in tears and hugged the Messenger of God. Shia and Sunni historians have narrated that during the severe time of the battle of Ohud whereat blood was flowing from the head and the face of the Prophet, the companions had tried to stop the bleeding of the wounds, to no avail. It was Fatima who then immediately burnt a straw mat and poured its ashes onto the wounds and stopped the blood from flowing. [Safinatul Behar vol.1 p140, Sahihul Bukhari vol.4 p.72]
🕯 Addressing Her Father 🕯
After the battle of Ohud, an Ayah was revealed to the Messenger of God to discipline his companions. It was customary for Arabs to call each other with their names without any title and as such they would only call the Prophet of Islam with his first name, Muhammad, the Messenger of God was also too humble to request them to address him otherwise. It was under these circumstances that the Almighty God revealed,
“Make not the calling of the Messenger among you as you are calling one of another.” 24:63
Upon the revelation of the Ayah, Muslims were commanded to address the Prophet with the title of Messenger of God.
Lady Fatima narrated, “After the revelation of the Ayah, I wondered whether I could still address my father as ‘father’ and thus I called him ‘O Messenger of God’. Upon hearing that my father immediately replied, “My dear Fatima, that rule was not for you, you call me O father for indeed this is more reviving for my heart and more pleasing your Lord.” [Ibn al-Maghazeli, al Manaqeb p367]
Thus, Fatima was the only exception of the above Ayah of which she gained part of her everlasting title ‘The Mother of Her Father`.
Fatima; the Mother of her Father
In the year 5 AH, after the Battle of al-Ahzab a new rule with regards to the wives of the Prophet was revealed.
“The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves and his wives are their mothers.” [33:6]
This revelation taught Muslims to respect the wives of the Prophet like their own mothers and that they were forbidden to ever marry them. Thus, none of the wives of the Prophet were ever able to remarry after the demise of the Messenger of God. To this end, every wife of the Prophet was referred to as ‘the mother of the believers’ which means as the believers could not ever marry their mother they could not possibly ever marry any of the wives of the Prophet. After the revelation of the above law, the Messenger of God said to his beloved daughter, “O Fatima. If my wives are the (spiritual) mother of the believers, then you are my (spiritual) mother.”
🕯 Etymology of the term ‘al-Omm' 🕯
The term mother is referred to in Arabic as ‘Omm` whether a direct biological mother or indirect and hence, Eve is also referred to as our ‘mother`. Linguistically, the term ‘mother` is quite similar in all different languages. Omm in Arabic, mum or mother in English, mahdar in Farsi, ma in Urdu and mama in Italian.
The term al-Omm in Arabic is defined by the renowned Arabic linguist al-Raghib “Everything and everyone who is the source of the existence of something or its rearing or reforming.” Therefore, anything that is the origin of the source of something or has a fundamental role in its existence is called al-Omm in Arabic. For instance, in Surah 43 Ayah 4 the Holy Quran is introduced to be in the Mother of the Book,
“And verily, it (this Quran) is in the Mother of the Book with Us, indeed exalted, full of wisdom.” (43:4)
The term ‘the mother of the book` in the above Ayah is meant for al-Lauh al-Mahfuz which is the source of all the divine knowledge and its producer.
The first Surah of the Quran is also called ‘Ommul Kitab’ the mother of the book for its seven Ayaat contain the summary of the entire teachings of the holy Quran and hence is the root and the origin of the rest of the Quran.
Ommah in Arabic is a community which has a common religious and spiritual goal.
In short, Omm is either a biological mother which is not gained but physically or a spiritual mother which is a title given due to some spiritual privileges and characteristics and carries similar parental rights. It is to this meaning that the Messenger of God introduced himself along with Imam Ali as the two fathers of the Muslim Ommah (community).
🕯 Fatima; the Axis 🕯
In the following I shall share with you ten reasons because of which Lady Fatima enjoyed the divine medal of ‘The Mother of Her Father’ by the Messenger of God.
We will learn that she is the symmetrical axis between Prophet-hood and Imamat.
🕯 1. The Axis of Creation
Numerous prophetic traditions state that the Messenger of God is the final cause of the creation. The Almighty God in a holy hadith says, “Had it not been because of you I would have not created the creation.” This is a well-established principle in Islamic philosophy and mysticism since the Messenger of God is the most perfect creation of God and the creation is aimed at the peak of its perfection. It is due to this fact that Fatima is the axis of creation for without her the generation of the most perfect human i.e. the Messenger of God would cease to continue. Similarly, spiritually the existence of Fatima was the cause of the continuation of Islam until the day of Judgment as I shall explain.
🕯 2. The Axis of Imamat
Fatima was the symmetrical axis joining Prophet-hood to Imamat. It was through Fatima that the blessed light of Prophet-hood was transmitted to eleven infallible Imams. I’m in awe! She is the mother of 11 infallible Imams! If the holy Mary begot one Jesus, and hence she became a truthful female, the holy Fatima begot 11 pure Imams, behind the last of whom Prophet Jesus shall pray.
🕯 3. The Axis of Ahlul-Bayt
The story of the Hadith of the Cloak is narrated by numerous Shia and Sunni narrators. Jabbir ibn Abdullah al-Ansari narrated that the Messenger of God went to the house of Fatima while he was not feeling well. Fatima received him and covered him with his Yemenese cloak for warmth and comfort. Then the Prophet of Islam brings Hasan, Husain and then Imam Ali and Fatima under his cloak with him. It was then that the angel Gibreel brought Ayah 33 of Surah 33,
“Verily, Allah willed but to purify you Ahlul-bayt….”33:33
Lady Fatima is the symmetrical axis in this story so much so that when the archangel Gibreel aims at introducing those who are under the cloak to the heavenly creatures, he states, “They are Fatima and her father and her husband and her children.”
🕯 4. The Axis of Infallibility
Since Fatima is the axis of Ahlul-Bayt she is also the axis of infallibility as indicated in Ayah 33 of Surah 33. She was the mother and the spiritual coach of all the Imams of Ahlul-bait. The infallibility, bravery and guidance of all the Imams of Ahlul-bait were inherited from their mother, holy Lady Fatima. When Khadija (S.A) was pregnant with Fatima she used to speak with her. One day when the Prophet of Islam heard his wife talking to her baby he said to her, “Gibreel has given me the glad tiding that she is going to be a baby girl and her generation will be blessed and pure and indeed the Almighty God will continue my generation from her offspring and will make them the Imams and the vicegerents of God on earth after revelation has ceased to continue.” [Rodhatul Wa’ezin vol.1 p.143]
🕯 5. The Axis of Al Mubahilah
In the last year of the life of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.W) a deputation of 60 high ranked Christians of Najran headed by Abdul Masih their chief monk-priest came and discussed with the Holy Prophet about the personality of Prophet ‘Isa (Jesus). When they refused to accept the logical reasoning of the Prophet of Islam, the Messenger of Allah by revelation invited them to a cursing challenge called ‘al-Mubahila`.
“Then whoever disputes with you concerning him (Jesus) after all this knowledge that has come to you, say: Come, let us call our sons and your sons, our women and your women, ourselves and yourselves, then we pray and invoke the Curse of Allah upon those who lie.” [3:61]
The only people the Prophet of Islam (S.A.W.W) chose to take to this vital challenge were: Imam Ali, Fatima al-Zahra, (Imam) Hasan and (Imam) Husain peace be upon them. In this challenge Fatima was the example of the child of the Prophet in ‘our sons`, the woman in ‘our women’. She was also the example of the soul of the Prophet in ‘ourselves` for the Messenger of God had said about her: “She is part of me as she is my soul in my heart.”
Of the significance of this selection the renowned Sunni scholar al-Qandoozi narrated from the holy Prophet (S.A.W.W): “Had the Almighty Allah knew more honourable people on earth than Ali, Fatima, Hasan and Husain he would have commanded me to challenge the Christians with them. But He ordered me to enter the Mubahila with them (Ahlul-Bayt) for they are the best creatures.” [Yanabi’ul-Mawaddah, p.131]
🕯 6. The Axis of Imams of Ahlulbayt (as)
The Almighty God gave the glad tidings to Fatima (S.A) that 11 infallible Imams will emerge from her offspring. Thus, she was called ‘the Mother of the Imams’ and ‘the Mother of the Blossoms of Islam’ and ‘the Mother of the Light of the Imams’. It is therefore narrated from the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.W): “I am the tree and Fatima is its fruit-bearing and Ali is its pollen and Hasan and Husain are its fruits.” [Ihqaqul-Haq, vol.9 p.157]
Similarly, when Lady Fatima (S.A) delivered her eloquent sermon in the Masjidul-Nabi, Imam Ali (A.S) addressed her with the title of: “O the remaining of the Prophet-hood.” [Beharul-Anwar, vol.43 p.148]
Most importantly, the holy Fatima was the bearer and the depository of the divine secret, i.e. Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance).
🕯 7. The Axis of Faith
The Lady Fatima (S.A) is the axis of faith. It is narrated from the Imams of Ahlul-bayt (A.S) that on the Day of Judgment “she will be the scale of measuring the deeds of our lovers and our enemies.” [ al-Kharazmi, Maqtalul-Husain, p.107] Thus, she is the scale of measuring the lovers and the enemies of Ahlul-Bayt.
🕯 8. The Axis of the Sayyyeds
The holy Fatima was ‘al-Kouthar’ meaning abundant blessings. The generation of the last Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.W) has spread world-wide through his daughter Fatima. She is the mother of Millions of offspring of the Prophet from the linage of Imam Ali, Imam Hasan, Imam Husain, Imam Redha, and Imam Kadhem (peace be upon them). They are related to the Prophet of Islam (S.A.W.W) through Fatima.
🕯 9. The Axis of Intercession
The holy Fatima is the axis of intercession on the Day of Judgment to rescue the sinners from the Hell-fire. Indeed, she is called Fatima for Allah has safeguarded her and her followers from the Hell-fire. Numerous Prophetic saying indicated that she is called Fatima for Allah has prevented her and her lovers and followers from the Hell-fire. [See Beharul-Anwar, vol.43 pp.4 -18]
Jabir; the distinguished companion of the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W.W) who lived long enough to visit Imam Baqir (A.S) asked the Imam to inform him of the status of his grandmother; the lady Fatima (S.A). Part of the Hadith reads:
“On the Day of Judgment people will be ordered: Bend your heads down and lower your gaze for indeed this is Fatima proceeding to Paradise. She then will ask the Almighty: O my Lord! I would like my status to be known in this Day. Thus, the Almighty Allah addresses her: O daughter of My beloved! Look back and find whoever there is a love in their heart for you or for any of your offspring to take their hands and enter them into Paradise. It is on that Day the she will be as selective as a chicken selects the good seeds over the spoiled ones. Then the Almighty Allah will address those who loved the holy Fatima (S.A): Look back and find whoever loved you for the love of Fatima, whoever fed you for the love of Fatima, whoever clothed you for the love of Fatima, whoever offered you a drink for the love of Fatima… then take their hands and enter them into Paradise. Imam Baqir (A.S) then added: On that Day none will be left, save the one who has been doubtful (about the status of Fatima), or the one who has been Kafir or hypocrite.” [Beharul-Anwar, vol.8 p.51]
🕯 10. The Axis of Granting Wishes
Although all the fourteen infallibles are the gates through whom the Almighty God grants our invocations, the Lady Fatima has a pivotal role in the granting of our wishes. Even the Imams of Ahlul-bayt when they invoked to the Almighty, they asked Allah in the virtuous name of their mother Fatima. Thus, the name of Fatima is again the central core in the recommended supplication for our needs.
“Allahuma inni asaloka be haqe fatimata wa abiha wa ba’leha wa baniha wa sirril musta’da’efi ha an to salle’a ala muhammadin wa ale muhammad. Wa an tafalla be ma anta ahlo wa an taqthia hawa`iji”
“O Allah verily I ask You by the right of Fatima and her father and her husband and her sons and the hidden secret entrusted in her (Imam Mahdi A.J) that You may Mohammad and his family and that You may do for me what You are anticipated to do and that You grant my requests.”
🕯 Mutual Affection 🕯
The affection between Fatima and her father was mutual. That means, as much as the holy Prophet of Islam loved his daughter Fatima, she also loved her father the Prophet. Thus, the demise of the Prophet of God did not have but an enormous effect on Fatima. During her short time after the demise of her father, she cried so much that according to the words of Imam Sadiq (A.S) she became one of the five most weeping people in history of mankind. Prophet Adam (A.S) after his fall wept so much that stains marks appeared on his cheeks.
Prophet Yaqoub (A.S) wept so much in the absence of his son Yusuf that he lost his eye sight. Prophet Yusuf in return also cried so much in missing his father that his fellow prisoners requested that he should cry either at night or day. Imam Sajjad (A.S) wept for the last thirty-five years of his life for the tragedy of Karbala and finally the holy Fatima wept her life away in the absence of her father the holy Messenger of God. She wept so much that Imam Ali (A.S) had to build an isolated hut for her worshipping and weeping called ‘the House of Grieves'.
The weeping of Fatima however, was not only for the physical departure of the Messenger of God from this world, she wept also for the catastrophic deviation that occurred after the Prophet passed. Her weeping was in fact a cry opposition to awaken the Islamic Ummah of the evil consequences of their wrongdoing. Fatima was fully aware that the deviation that occurred in Saqifeh would lead to the massacre of Karbala.
“As salamu alayk O you oppressed lady whose right has been usurped and her rib was broken, the one who was beaten, the lady who was truthful and martyred.”
The enemies of Islam and Ahlul-bait could not stand her opposition. According to al-Mas’oodi; the renowned historian, she witnessed that the party of Abu Bakr forced Imam Ali to pay allegiance to Abu Bakr whilst Imam Ali was refusing. [Ithbatul-Wasiya p262]
Eventually, the enemies threatened to set the house of Fatima on fire should Ali continue to refuse allegiance. Omar ibn Kattab along with his men approached the house of Ahlul-bait. He threatened that should Ali still refuse he would burn the house down and the household. Omar was reminded that Fatima was also in that house, his only reply was, “Even so…”
I would like to end my speech by narrating the tragic event of the martyrdom of the holy Lady Fatima (s.a); the part of the heart of the Prophet and the beloved mother of her father with her own heartbreaking description of the scene,
“they placed firewood at the gate of my house and then they brought fire and torched it to burn us all. I was standing behind the front door. I pleaded with them by the name of Allah and my father the Messenger of Allah to leave us alone or help us. But Omar grabbed the whip of Qunfuz; the slave of Abu Bakr and whipped my arm so hard that it bruised and marked like a bracelet. He then kicked the door against me while I was pregnant, and I fell to the floor all the while the fire was blazing in front of me and its heat was burning my face. He then slapped me so hard on my face that my earring tore my ear then I felt the pain of labor and lost my innocent baby.

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Al-Ra’d Ayah 27-29
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
13:27 And those who disbelieved say: "Why is not a sign sent down to him from his Lord!''
Say: "Verily, Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides unto Himself those who turn to Him in repentance.''
13:28 Those who believed and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest.
13:29 Those who believed, and work righteousness, Tuba is for them and a beautiful place of (final) return.
Disbelievers ask for Miracles, Allah's Response to Them
Allah tells:
And those who disbelieved say: Allah says that the idolators said,
Why is not,
meaning, there should be,
a sign sent down to him from his Lord, The idolators also said,
Let him then bring us an Ayah like the ones (Prophets) that were sent before (with signs)! )21:5(
We mentioned this subject several times before and stated that Allah is able to bring them what they wanted. There is a Hadith which mentions that the idolators asked the Prophet to turn Mount As-Safa into gold and, they also asked him for a spring to gush forth for them and to remove the mountains from around Makkah and replace them with green fields and gardens.
Allah revealed to His Messenger:
"If You wish, O Muhammad, I will give them what they asked for. However, if they disbelieve thereafter, I will punish them with a punishment that I did not punish any among the `Alamin (mankind and the Jinns).
Or, if you wish, I will open for them the door to repentance and mercy.''
The Prophet said,
Rather, open for them the door to repentance and mercy.
This is why Allah said to His Messenger next,
Say: "Verily, Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides unto Himself those who turn to Him in repentance.''
Allah states that He brings misguidance or guidance whether the Messenger was given a sign (a miracle) according to their asking or not. Verily, earning the misguidance or the guidance are not connected to the miracles or the lack of them.
Allah said in other Ayat,
But neither Ayat nor warners benefit those who believe not. (10:101)
Truly, those, against whom the Word of your Lord has been justified, will not believe. Even if every sign should come to them, until they see the painful torment. (10:96-97)
And even if We had sent down unto them angels, and the dead had spoken unto them, and We had gathered together all things before their very eyes, they would not have believed, unless Allah willed, but most of them behave ignorantly. )6:111(
Allah said here,
Say: "Verily, Allah sends astray whom He wills and guides unto Himself those who turn to Him in repentance.''
meaning, He guides to Him those who repent, turn to Him, beg Him, seek His help and humbly submit to Him.
The Believer's Heart finds Comfort in the Remembrance of Allah
Allah said,
Those who believed, and whose hearts find rest in the remembrance of Allah.
for their hearts find comfort on the side of Allah, become tranquil when He is remembered and pleased to have Him as their Protector and Supporter.
So Allah said,
Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest. and surely, He is worthy of it.
The Meaning of Tuba
Allah said,
Those who believed, and work righteousness, Tuba is for them and a beautiful place of (final) return.
Ali bin Abi Talhah reported that Ibn Abbas said that Tuba means,
"Happiness and comfort or refreshment of the eye.''
Ikrimah said that Tuba means,
"How excellent is what they earned,''
while Ad-Dahhak said, "A joy for them.''
Furthermore, Ibrahim An-Nakh`i said that Tuba means, "Better for them,''
while Qatadah said that it is an Arabic word that means, `you have earned a good thing.'
In another narration, Qatadah said that `Tuba for them' means,
"It is excellent for them,''
,)and a beautiful place of return(
and final destination.
These meanings for Tuba are all synonymous and they do not contradict one another.
Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri said that a man asked,
"O Allah's Messenger! Tuba for those who saw you and believed in you!''
The Prophet said,
Tuba is for he who saw me and believed in me. Tuba, and another Tuba, and another Tuba for he who believed in me, but did not see me.
A man asked, "What is Tuba?'' The Prophet said,
A tree in Paradise whose width is a hundred years, and the clothes of the people of Paradise are taken from its bark.
Al-Bukhari and Muslim recorded that Sahl bin Sa`d said that the Messenger of Allah said,
There is a tree in Paradise, if a rider travels in its shade for one hundred years, he would not be able to cross it.
An-Nu`man bin Abi Ayyash Az-Zuraqi added,
"Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri narrated to me that the Prophet said,
There is a tree in Paradise, if a rider travels in its shade on a fast, sleek horse for one hundred years, he would not be able to cross it.''
In his Sahih, Imam Muslim recorded that Abu Dharr narrated that the Messenger of Allah said that Allah the Exalted and Most Honored said,
O My slaves!
If the first and the last among you, mankind and Jinns among you, stood in one spot and asked Me and I gave each person what he asked, it will not decrease from My dominion, except what the needle decreases (or carries) when entered into the sea.
Khalid bin Ma`ddan said,
"There is a tree in Paradise called Tuba, that has breasts that nurse the children of the people of Paradise. Verily, the miscarriage of a woman will be swimming in one of the rivers of Paradise until the Day of Resurrection commences, when he will be gathered with people while forty years of age.''
Ibn Abi Hatim collected this statement.

The Fertile Genes
The Fertile Genes
Khalid Shraidah, University of Qassim Buraida
Translated by: Rasha Khan
Recorded by Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al-Dossary
Genes, which are the basic units for passing on traits in living beings, are also divine miracles placed by Allah in His creation. Genes are mainly responsible for biological processes that occur in the body. However, here I will be talking from a different perspective, about a certain kind of fertility that is passed on from one generation to another, not in their physical traits but in their morals. These include virtue, goodness, being a giving person, serving the creation, being righteous and improving conditions. Allah has made this aspect a hereditary gene and a divine law, as a reward for everyone who gives selflessly for the sake of his religion, and improves conditions in the world he lives in.
The fertility of social genes is an important aspect to bring attention to. I am presenting it here so that we may dive into its meanings and see the extent of its impact in social life.
The concept of “fertile genes” has been emphasized by the Book of Allah, in which it is stated that the Book will be inherited to all those of His slaves whom He the Almighty has especially chosen. The quality which has been engrained in these chosen ones, and in their succeeding generations, is that “they guided (others) by Our Command.”
Then in Surah Aal Imraan Allah said: “Indeed, Allah chose Adam, Noah, the family of Abraham, and the family of Imraan over all the worlds.” Why? Because they used to hasten to do good deeds and supplicate Allah out of hope and fear, and they were humbly submissive to Allah. The prophets mentioned in this Ayah used to inherit the best of morals and virtues from each other. This is the fertility of genes that I am referring to. Another quality of righteous people who improve conditions around them is that they do not just do good deeds; rather, they hasten to do them and compete with each other to do them. As mentioned in Surah Al Muminoon, Ayah 61: “It is those who hasten to good deeds, and outstrip others therein.”
Thus, the social concept, comprising Allah’s divine laws when it comes to the lives of His creation, which we are presenting now is a new way of thinking about social inheritance that is passed on from one generation to another, as per the ways of fathers and grandfathers, whether over a long or short period of time. In fact, some scholars of Tafseer consider that the treasure which Allah brought forth at the hands of Al Khidhr for the two orphans in Surah Al Kahf was not brought forth due to their being orphans. Rather, it was because their father had been  righteous. Thus, their treasure was kept safe for them.
Thus, righteousness (the inheritance or legacy) was the most important factor in this event. It is said that the father in the story was not even their direct father, but a sixth or even tenth forebear. Thus, Allah may have treasures in store for us which we will inherit not by the efforts and hard work people usually put in so that they can hand down wealth to their inheritors; rather, it is different kinds if good deeds that will cause us to inherit that wealth, and with it, a position, reputation and good influence as well.
This is a social and faith-related aspect that we need to contemplate and spread among people due to its huge impact on our lives and the future of coming generations. Even to those who speak about sustainability, I say that this concept of “the sustainability of goodness” is a great concept that deserves our care and attention.
Fertile genes are not just genes that are transferred from parents and grandparents and affect the facial features, skin color, and height. Rather, these genes affect something greater than that, which is the extent of giving, righteousness, and efforts made for the happiness and guidance of human beings.
One of the beautiful things we can glean from this concept is that we should become aware, and we should know, learn and teach others, that the charity of our deeds does not stop at our current actions; rather, Allah stores it for our coming generations. We will have the great rewards of our actions in our scales on the Day we meet Him. When people understand this great concept of “fertile genes”, they will imcrease their good deeds which serve the land and the people. They will perform their duties and fulfil their obligations which integrity and a sense of responsibility.
Contemplate the stances of the Companions and the Successors of the Companions, and the great deeds of the men and women in our history. One of them says, “When I pray, I remember my son, so I increase my prayer that he may be protected after me.”It is also narrated from one of the Successors of the Companions that he said to his son: “I increase my prayer for your sake, O my son!”
The impact of upbringing at the hands of righteous women is clear in the phenomenon of seeking knowledge and the scholars in our history. So many famous scholars and leaders, such as Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal, Al Bukhaari and others, were the product of righteous mothers. What fertile effects they and others like them had on our lives and until today, and on our futures as well. Is this not fertility? It is fertitlity that is flowing with a strength proportionate to the amount of righteousness and improvement of conditions that it contains among its ingredients. Indeed, it is through the righteousness of a man and woman that Allah protects their near and dear ones, as well as their image and reputation among people, all in accordance with Allah’s decree, favour, mercy and the amount of fertility of righteousness, which is reproduced in the real world where people live.
It is narrated from Muhammad bin Al Munkadir that he said, “Indeed, Allah protects the children of a righteous man, his children’s children and the little houses around them. They remain in Allah’s protection and covering.” We see and read about how many scholars have inherited scholars, and how many leaders inherited influential families. Our reality bears witness to this truth of divine law taking place as long as the fertility of goodness remains in us and our generations.
My thoughts on this fertile concept, that of “fertile genes”, keep occurring  one after the other. However, I prefer to not make this too long; therefore, I have mentioned certain aspects of it for the contemplation and reflection of all those who read these lines. It is hope that this will be a subject of research in the future.
May Allah make your seeds fertile and your impact great in a way that leads to goodness, righteousness and success in this world and the hereafter, for your religion, your worldly life, and your offspring.
