A bit ago I was looking through the g1 timeline wiki and I saw that Skyfire and Starscream now had a 5 million year old age gap and I was like oh? That makes their dynamic so much more interesting especially how innocent he was portrayed in fire in the sky, I also wanted to share my hc on why Skyfire never brought up Starscream again

The heat trope is something I see often in fics but I want to talk about ruts and them being the complete opposite to heats.

Not just the classic boring way of heats making a mech needy and ruts making a mech aggressive. Heats are sometimes written as a mech’s internal temperature rising until it’s unbearable hot, even scorching to the touch.

I want to propose making ruts in opposite to that. Make the mech’s internal temperature core drop until the plating is freezing over. Make them shiver and joints lock until they’re desperate to find a warm frame in heat to hold. Shoving their popsicle spike into a forge hot valve. Fragging until the temperatures even out and they’re back to normal.

I want cold ruts and hot heats.

I was bored and looking for fanfics to read, and I stumble across one (mind you, it’s supposed to be a crack fic) where they pose the idea of g1 Starscream secretly being a megop kid

And now I can’t unsee it

I mean, he is red, blue and light grey like a combo of them, and he also at least gives me the impression that he’s a lot younger than them

And also looking at the three of them, I kind of see it

The things that don’t look similar are just jet things, which neither of them are. And yeah, him being a jet would be a detractor from this idea, but who knows, maybe alt modes aren’t genetic in this hypothetical scenario

Also another thing the fic brought up is that Megatron never just kills Starscream despite his constant treachery. I think that’s different by the movie, but whatever

I know it’s stupid and I don’t really believe it, and this would only be specifically in g1 (because god knows it doesn’t work in other continuities), but now it’s in my brain and I need other people to know about it

Oh, and a request, if you feel like it, and a little spoiler from the Transformers fic... Jake being sick in bed and Starscream losing it because what do they (Bronco and Sally) mean that they can't just replace his broken parts???

No hate. I just don't see the appeal, and I'm curious. It seems like a popular pairing and I'd like to know more.

Headcanon that, alongside romance and friendship based movies similar to Earth, Cybertron has movies based on the forming of trine relationships. Obviously they're more popular among seekers, but they aren't unenjoyable for others, including humans.

Now imagine Starscream in continuities where he's without his trine mates. Watching old sappy trine rom-coms by himself and remembering the time the other two begged and dragged him to the theatre to see it when it first came out.

an autobot Starscream who still craves to be leader is actually so funny because he can't just claim leadership like with the decepticons, he needs the matrix

so i'm just...imagining the goofiest plot where Starscream attempts to take the matrix from Optimus, filled with shenanigans and schemes you'd find in a looney tunes cartoon

and when he somehow manages to take the matrix (maybe he used a crowbar to break open OP's chest as he was sleeping idk) he's so ????? because the damn thing won't work why won't it work??

and Optimus is comically behind him like, "Starscream I'm tired, please give me the matrix back"

bonus funny points when Hot Rod is the chosen one after Optimus and Starscream is so pissed he goes back to the decepticons
