this one's just too easy. i have had vague story ideas for my violet team for ages.
#the only tweak is palafin in place of wugtrio cause i prefer it now#grafaiai (adeleine) is the main character here and idk the general plot yet#but shes best friends with miraidon (name pending) after she finds her on the beach and they defend each other#im thinking the school setting stays#and all of these guys are classmates who are collaborating on a group project#oh wait except for tinkaton. who is not part of the school but is following us at a distance cause shes down bad for holly (meowscarada)#and is too shy to actually ask to join. she copes with this by beating rocks with her hammer#and screaming her heart out#ceruledge starts as like the snobby pretentious smart kid but it turns out shes just autistic and doesnt realize she sounds like that slkdf#basically like ''omg we're in high school yay ^^ wait is the apocalypse happening''#anthro au#ok now that im done. can easily say the ones im most interested in are kanto kalos alola and paldea#echoed voice#i will do concept sketches maybe#actually designing em is gonna be the hard part

okay unironically I love so much that porter is like this world SUCKS its BAD here and it HURTS you why do you care abt it!!! and literally every single bad kid is like ngl we just hate ur ass it does not matter what ur philosophy is
#dimension 20#fantasy high junior year#not art#fhjy spoilers#its!!! gods I will Be My Ass in the tags rn. but thats so like. deliciously setting typical#like porter's desire is to transcend and his contempt for the world he's in feels. idk Real#like he plays the game bc he wants to win and be done with it. how do I word this#yknow. being a god would like. be his win state. when he gets that happening thats it his story is done he checks out#meanwhile the bad kids do actually just like playing the game lmao. like they love adventuring!#theyre so solidly Of This World. they carry the values that can only be born of it and they like having mastery over it#its a meta angle that I think is very fun specifically for d20 being in such a unique position in the zeitgeist when it first started#the rat grinders are from DnD Writ Large. porter wants to escape. but this is the bad kids' home its Their Actual Play Show#which makes it so fucking excellent to me that porter's question is somewhat of merit! its their show and it tries very hard to punish them#and they just straight up dont listen to him here lmao bc they hate him but! since the moment the academic track ended its been clear#that they save the world bc they Like Playing. With Each Others#thats what riz thinks the core of adventuring is! thats why fig stayed! and I also think thats why this hovers over elmville now and#a dead god is coming back in the school gym. porter is a shit evangelist but even if hes a good one I dont think it wouldve worked like he#wants it to. the only way he couldve escaped is if he'd not involved elmville at all. thats where the bad kids met dude#its a shitty place that fucks with them but they all come back here bc they wanna play with each others#and in that regard I think thats what the stress tokens ultimately means. Is This Game Still Fun To Play. ITS A RAGEQUIT LIMIT#Im literally running from one end to another of this conspiracy board Ive pulled out of nowhere#Ill draw after this I just wanna get this out. gods this episode has done nothing but furthering my delusion of grandeur actually#Im the hottest smartest manthing on earth Im king fucking midas over here. anyways uh! great ep!

i see the potential for a dick and jason reverse robins au. jason staying on the good kid track from his childhood and being put on a pedestal despite still having so many issues, and then pre-teen dick grayson shows up; problem child, keeps running away from juvie and foster homes because he's lusting for murder, filled with rage and plastering a feral smile on top of it all--which jason can't even comprehend because he's so fundamentally authentic with his emotions at any given moment--and above all, making jason cry with laughter because of the look on bruce's face when he sees dick on the chandelier. it's perfectly backwards. i'm obsessed
#jason is so morally separate but i think the pressure of setting a good example for his younger siblings might calm him down#also less trauma. obviously. bruce just does better with the first one for some reason#(by which i mean at least the first one doesn't die tragically)#why do dick and jason's core personalities make way more sense if their narratives are swapped#am i just biased towards robin!jason and angry!dick ? maybe so. but im also right#those are their roots#baby jason would've thrown a tantrum if bruce didn't let him go to school while he had the flu#he thinks staying up late to read under the covers is rebelling#meanwhile dick's whole THING was running off to fight a villain alone#sound familiar?#batfam#dick grayson#jason todd#reverse robins

oh i was just reminded that u can go to school abroad
#chat do we think going to school abroad would make me lose my mind or do we think it'd be good for me#im considering adding some schools outside of the us into my list of programs to consider#there seem to be more masters n phd programs of what i want out of the us. here i can only find a few good solid ones most r minors#and certificates n i dont care for those im going all in. ideally would be able to go straight to doctorate but not all of the programs#i rlly like will allow it w/o a masters#anyway i feel like i am terribly neurotic abt things and there is a nonzero chance that studying abroad would kill me but i also feel like#good deal of my issues stem from living w my family. which can be fixed w leaving. and programs abroad r cheaper. but also id have to get#a whole ass situation set up unless i want to stay in dorms. which i dont. but i also feel like it could be fun idk#also i keep having dreams where for whatever reason i live in australia. that has nothing to do w anything but australia sounds fun#and there's a program over there im looking into

watching people interact with each other l i k e
#idk is it just me or are âirl social interactions extremeeeeeelyyyyy e x h a u s t i n g#e s p e ci a ll y if you have to talk to a bunch of strangers who are somehow getting along really well despite it being their first meeting#but wellllllllllll⌠ig the reason why im even thinking of this is bc#the beginning of the year always never fails to bring back memories of orientation camps. m a n i hated those#and the things that those camps always have in common are⌠1) that iâd be unable to gel well with my groupmates in the orientation camps#and 2) that the orientation group leaders always stick close to me to force me to join in on conversations i want no part of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa#i think the overnight camp over the first 3 days of school in. like. 2013 was the worst#bc 1: it was a new school. none of us knew anyone else. and we had to stay at school overnight for some reason during that orientation camp#and 2: (idk about the born-males but) the skirt wearers were all forced to sleep in the (unairconditioned) hall together#with no dividers or segregated corners or anything. just the walls of the hall. nothing else to lean on or anything#so most of them. like. slept in the middle of the hall next to the friends they made that day.#but no. not me. i made no friends so i found a little cozy spot under some list of top academic scorers or sth. peace and quiet#and the best part is that the orientation group leaders didnât sleep in the hall with us soooo i wasnât forced to talk to anyone yayyyyyyyy#ngl sometimes i think back to my days at that school and wonder why the heck it was so weird#like even the teachers were weird. throwback to my then-club advisor who called the number i specifically asked her not to callâŚ#which set off a series of events that led to *the* incident that caused my parentsâ divorce#thank you maâam your unnecessary efforts were very much unappreciated </3#hmmmmmm but she wasnât the only weird teacher at that school though. sadly.#like i had this home econs teacher who insisted that the lights be turned off while we cooked#a n d scolded us for rinsing our cooking utensils and stuff bc âthe previous class had already washed it!â#she also made us write half a page-long reflections on what we cooked that day in class which was bonkers tbh#there was this literature teacher that made a â¨t o n⨠of shipping jokes about my classmates and inappropriate jokes in general#and this other teacher who p much told me âok sure you have trauma. but [other guy] had experienced worse trauma and look he turned out okâ#uh sorry maâam no. 2 i had already heard his story from him but i donât think itâs your place to talk about someone elseâs trauma like thatâ#and g o d there was also this time my classâs groupchat got some of my classmates into a whole bunch of trouble#bc some guy leaked the most problematic of the messages to someone else from another class (who then snitched to a teacher)#man. i do not miss school at all. too many people to talk to; too little time to myself#i do wonder how my former schoolmates are doing though⌠i hope that theyâll have a good 2k24 if they can~~~~~#ok i think thatâs enough of a trip down memory lane for one week. man. i feel old

thereâs a lot of things im not enjoying about my life right now but i think the worst one is that i donât have anything to talk about other than how miserable and tired and unmotivated i am
#im exaggerating a bit. the only positive and changing thing in my life is my dog#but like. this really is just 8 weeks of constant suckage#[ context. im in school to be a cpa while working full time. i have quite literally 0 free time. this will continue until about sept 2025 ]#i keep spiralling into questioning myself on why im even doing this#like deep down. i dont think society as it stands is going to last into my 40s. so why am i wasting my 20s on The Grind#spending my life until i turn 26 hustlegrinding so i can get a solid job and then coast the rest of my professional life#is only a good idea if the world stays functional and i live until. idk. 50 or 60 i think would make it worth it#im just so jealous of people who dont have to financially support their family. i didnt pick this. i dont want this#nobody around me gets it either. nobody i know is in this situation#every time somebody tells me to slow down or take a break i want to kill them. like im an only child and my parents are aging#they do not have retirement savings. âthere is a very real ticking clock for me to hit an income level to keep the 3 of us going#part of me wishes i were irresponsible and could just. do what i want until it blows up in my face#but im too serious im too cautious im too risk averse im too pragmatic#so here i am. spending my 20s ignoring any and all personal enjoyment in favour of Building My Future#i dont think life ends at 30 or anything. if i knew the world was going to be okay i wouldnt worry so much#but i cant shake the belief that weâre headed for a societal collapse in my lifetime. likely when iâm middle aged.#i dont want to be a doomer but what the fuck is the point of it all. why am i doing this if not to set myself up for the next 60 years#freewheeling bitextual

i havent seen any episodes since 2x3 but i think its SO interesting that the fandom will continuously say ben has no power and that no one cares hes an adult but the moment he doesnt step in to help deliver a baby its suddenly "hes annoying" and "you said yourself youre the adult step it up"
#yj spoilers#also like. as far as im aware he has continued to spiral and hallucinate constantly#and also like. i feel like trying to deliver a baby may be Difficult considering his leg situation bc like. idk how they were set up#but i dont think he can like. sit on the floor and he sure as hell cant kneel since one leg doesnt have a knee anymore#like im sure he probably could've helped somehow but i think. i dont think its fair to constantly emphasize his powerlessness#and then get mad when hes. not using what power he does have#'he taught the health class!!' 'he never learned more than pressing play on the video???'#i cant imagine the gay man would be actively preparing himself to know how to deliver a baby also i dont think that childbirth is like#taught in schools but i could be wrong#saw someone say he should know what to do because 'at his grown age one of his friends would've given birth' but like. its not like#its not like he would BE there for that#me getting defensive of ben without seeing the episode or knowing the context akshwls#its very possible that i will watch the episode eventually and they will be right its true#but i just.#ALSO i see so many people complain that bens even still alive and there bc hes a boy but then they complain when their main characters#are stepping up and doing things while he stays out of it#i think. its also quite possible i dont actually care that much ab this and the person talking just had an attitude and it annoyed me more#everyone in the replies was calling ben annoying and im >:(#ive also just been not in the best mood so i think im just channeling my feelings into this thing that doesnt matter akshskskd#negative cw

from a quick glance it seems like they expected mc to go to RAD until they died
#okay im exaggerating#get ready for the rambling on stuff no one is paying attention too in ob3y me#idk enough about the lore to know if they had a graduation system set up BUT#i do know that mc officially joins the student council later in the story (or at least that theyre trying to join)#and when i think about how long the school has existed and how the brothers are just still going there cause theyre the student council#i cant help but think mc was kinda expected to just keep going to school forever#....they know mc isnt gonna live forever ever right?#like me personally i probably have 60 years left and thats me being EXTREMELY generous#and no way i would still be there willingly once i hit 30#....who tf wants to spend a majority of their lifespan in school#studying and doing homework and worrying about their grades#after the 2nd year id start planning to move out iwjidwjwd#id pull solomon to the side ask if he wants to room with me and we can split the housing costs lmaoo#if he says no id still move out and then id drop out#the only reason i dont ask asmo is cause i geniunely dont think hed want to move out away from his brothers#also im sure he wants to keep going to school#so its either sol or i go solo haha#id just feel weird staying at HOL as the only bitch not going to school lmao#also i dont want lucifers judging eyes on me. ik hed disapprove of the dropping out..not gonna stop me i just dont wanna be judged everyday#sorry this bugs me about the game...i cant let it go#im gonna go with it being a cultural thing#and being able to go to school forever is like peak happy fantasy. to me personally though its actual hell#this would be an interesting writing prompt tho#âhow everyone reacts when you say youre dropping out of rad and moving out of HOLâ#......the mcs life span is so short in comparison to everyones and i feel like all the characters forget that most of the time#LIKE theyre not being malicious its just ugh....does the mc not have anything else they wanna do in their life???#tho i was thinking about how time works in this game....how do these characters have time for the shenangian of the week and school#and hobbies and part time jobs#it doesnt really add up to me#what if theyre like only in school once a week LMAO

read asoue to weeman as a bedtime story he liked it YAYYYY
#i set up a oneblock mc workd 4 him bc hes been obsessed w them#took me a while bc im an idiot FJFBFNN but i got it. nd he was having fun but itsba school night#but he was in my room playing so eventually i convinced him to turn off mc (meryl my computer came in with an assist (battery low warning so#i could say I think meryl is getting tired....)) so then he helped me turn it off but was still so sad#so i offered for him to stay cozy in my room 4 awhile and we sat together and then i said we could read a story together#so he read his favorite book 2 me (not a box if anybody is curious) and then i relized my copies of asoue r in storage at current moment#Which was the bummer. but i checked out the ebook from my library in wa YAYY I LOVE LIBRARIES#so i was reading that to him :] and he was super into it asking me abt words i didnt know he even asked me Why is his last name snicket...#as if the name lemony isnt weirder NRNTJFNhes funny#but ya. and he was asking me questions abt the story (How did that fire start.... Maybe they left the oven on too long đĽđĽđĽ) but he was#rly into it... i was a bit worried itd be a bit too sad 4 him But i underestimated him . he was very sad when their parents died but very#invested. we got abt midway through chapter 4 (klaus had just said the thing abt olaf only giving them one bed) and then he started#fake snoring. so i carried him to his room and then unfortunately he noticed that his phone was charged so he decided to play on that a bit#before bed . sigh . I did my best#nd then i told my mom and she had the gall to be like Sigh when i said he grabbed his ohone and its like. Well thatis bc you gave him a#phone to play on and whenever you dont feel like listening to him when he wants to tell you things you distract him with any screen in reach#like. yk. itis entirely your alls fault. and i feel bad#hes such a sweet kid and yes he does have a tendency to talk a lot bc hes . an autistic 6 year old who loves a lot of things and is excited#to share. yk. but most everyone just ignores him and i feel bad...#i try my best to listen sometimes i have trouble following but like. yk.#and a lot of the stuff is abt whatever youtubers hes watching which. sigh. but whtevr#idk. i worry abt him having a phone with internet access like. hes only got kids youtube and stuff but. well i dont love kids having access#to the internet so young <- guy who was doing erp with strangers online at age 7.#but. waghhhhhhfhfhrbfufbfjr. wtvr#anyways. im glad he liked the story at least im hoping i can get him into reading more#he likes reading but im gonna ask my mom if i can get all my books out of storage#theyre like. hes still quite young for most of them but ive got some old junie b jones#and i think tag would like a lot of them as well ... neither of them read a lot it makes me sad but its. understandable. my parents didnt#teach tag to read like at all and they still struggle with it#so i cannot blame them. but i think the books i liked at their age r things theyd like so ! yk.

#its 6am and im awake!! (not good)#ive kind of shifted my sleep schedule to be the worst it could possibly be#yesterday i slept from 8-9am and then 11am-5pm#and thats kind of where it's settled. whoch is not good#my roommate who is a sleep scientist says thats going to kill me and i believe that because i already feel like im dying#its just so nice to be awake for sunrise tho! and i couldnt wake up this early so my only option is to stay awake to see it#i think ive seen the sunrise more in the past two weeks than ever before in my life#on a note that feels related but probably isnt- im moving in may. in two months#'but austyn i remember you moved this time last year' youre right! im bad at staying in one place!!#im moving back in with my parents because this city is expensive and i need a year to figure my life out#i didnt think i was going to make it to 18 and thats now fucking up my life#how is it fucking up my life? because i made no plans for anything past high school and instead have just been bouncing from thing to thing#trying to make a life when i thought i would be dead. so i moved and moved and moved again and now i have no money no prospects#no drive no plan no ideas no future etc#so thats all catching up to me and im gonna take a year to save up and get on my feet and reconnect with my psychiatrist and restart therapy#my psychiatrist is gonna be mad that i just went a year with no meds but its fine. just remembered i should try to set up an appointment now#okay gonna set up an appointment at 8 when they open. shes a very in demand psychiatrist. and idk if i can go back to her after a year#theyre very nice there so im sure theyll help me figure it out. so im gonna get my mental health bsck on track#eventually fix my sleep schedule maybe. idk its just a year to figure everything out but its difficult to move again#i hate moving. ive said it once ill say it again. moving kills a part of your soul. especially moving back in with your parents#just gonna be venting about this for awhile actually#maybe ill go for a walk at like 7am cuz the weather has been so nice lately i love it#ive been walking part of the way home from work because its so nice#i truly just dont want to sleep. i want to do things but i dont have the energy to do them. yknow. this sucks#anyway. gonna tey to get my life together but so far im doing pretty bad

Little Miss Wingwoman - LN4
With baby Verstappen-Piquet on the way, Penelope's nanny needs a place to move into as she becomes an almost full time employee of the family. No better place than Lando's spare bedroom, only a few floors down from her job, right?
warnings/notes: none particularly? this might be like five parts or two parts, im not sure yet :D!
next part
Penelope's plan to get her two favorite people to fall in love begins to fall into place.
See, Penelope was smart. Kelly made sure she was creative and book smart while Max made sure she had the confidence to speak her mind. Penelope got all she wanted, within reason, spoiled just enough, worked for what she had to. Danced, played, sang, baked... she was kid, but she was smart. She could do it all herself if she wasn't a huge momma and daddy's girl. (Bonus-daddy's girl? She hadn't worked out the wording on that one yet.)
But, on the busy days, you visited.
Taking a summer gig to nanny in your last years of school, you didn't expect to be placed within the Verstappen-Piquet household. Two days in, you never wanted to leave, and Penelope--so so young back then, had refused to let you go. Now, a few years later, you traveled around with the family when needed. Most of the time, staying back to look over the apartment and the cats while they went around.
You were more so an extra set of hands for Kelly, someone who could run and get groceries before dinner, run Penelope to and from practices or accompany her to weekends with her father (the Kyvat's adored you as well), or someone who could stay back with Penelope for date nights or take her out for nights in.
After a few years of steady rhythm, everything was shaken up with baby Verstappen-Piquet on the horizon. A lot of changes needing to be made to prepare for the child, especially the further along Kelly was getting--appointments and classes and errands. A set of helping hands, especially when Max had to go off for work, was almost necessary.
But it was impossible to find apartments in Monaco on your budget. And with the spare room you had been using turning to a nursery for the little bugger coming along, you didn't have the luxury of sleeping in your employers home much longer.
And so, the hunt began.
Penelope had heard the news from Max, offhandedly mentioning it to Daniel during a padel game. The Australian didn't have space for you, as much as he'd grown to love your presence. A week later, he'd run into Charles while out getting dinner with P, and asked if he or Alexandra knew anywhere while Penelope pretended to be distracted by Leo. A week after that, Kelly had gone out to lunch with a bunch of her friends in the and discussed it openly.
A month in, Lando visited to watch Penelope while Kelly and Max went off to a doctor's appointment. Usually, you would stop by, but you were off on an early holiday vacation with family. The way Lando joked with Max, the easy smile on his lips, the awkward stumbles and laughter through his words... it was just like you could be.
Then, when Max asks, Lando mentions having a spare room he'd have to clean out. And the way Lando smiles when Penelope makes her way over to give him a hug, promising Max he'll keep her in line while the two of them are gone makes an idea flare in Penelope's head.
Lando needed a roommate, and you needed a place to stay. So, obviously, you were an absolutely perfect pair, right? It wasn't a new idea to her, you and Lando had met a few times over the course of the years you'd watched her. Mainly for short moments at whatever grand prix she'd begged you to come to, and the two of you seemed to get along...
And, she thinks you're both single. So, Penelope enacted stage one of her master wing(wo)man plan: getting you to move in with Lando.
While Penelope was scheming, browsing through YouTube for videos full of cutesy RomCom ideas, Lando was saying goodbye to Max and Kelly--wishing them luck, and then shutting the door behind him. He made quick work of sneaking a popcorn bag out of his backpack, popping it in the microwave while he scrolled through the countless movies on their smart TV--finding the perfect one for Penelope to watch.
The girl was engrossed, headphones shoved over her ears, watching a 'my top ten romantic moments in movies' compilation, but the smell of buttery goodness made her lift her head.
Lando smiles, holding out a bowl for her, "Too busy watching that for some old fashioned Disney?"
Glancing to the screen, Frozen 2 was paused on the opening screen, and Penelope tutted, "This came out in 2019."
"But thats like forever ago. Were you even born yet?" Lando smirks and Penelope takes the bowl from him with a scowl, but obliges to sit next to him on the couch, putting her iPad away for now, as Lando started the movie up.
But as Elsa is working to tame the Nøkk, Penelope lets out a soft sigh. Popcorn gone, and interest ruined. She wants to get back to studying. She has all winter break to make this love story happen, and with Lando and Max possibly going back for testing as early as January 3rd, she needs to act fast.
Lando glances over from where he's been idly answering emails between watching the movie, his own bowl empty. Penelope pouts while watching the movie, and he hums, looking at her.
"You're not even watching the coolest scene," Lando chimed softly, remembering the countless times little Mila would screech at the TV when she was really young. Penelope just huffed again, and he found himself curiously laying his head on his palm, "isn't this your favorite part?"
"No." Penelope deadpans, sighing again and dramatically slides off the couch onto her back and groans. She knows its a bit overkill, but its also Lando. He was a bit dramatic too. Penelope ends up closing her eyes for more drama as Sassy jumps off the couch and sniffs her head before trying to sneak a bite of corn kernels.
Lando reaches out and waves Sassy away, earning him a hiss and a sulk from the bengal as she stalks off to a far corner in the room. He slides the rest of his way out of the chair, hovering by Penelope's side before asking softly,
"What'sa matter, P?"
Penelope blinks open one eye at his approach, muttering, "The horse thing is Yn's favorite part of the movie."
"Yn?" Lando pops down on the floor next to her, pausing the movie on the TV, "is she one of your friends from dance?
"No, Yn is my nanny." Penelope sits up, a mischievous thought entering her mind, "but she doesn't have a place to live, so she's not my nanny now. Because she can't live in Monaco."
"Oh, that's a shame. D'ya miss her?" Lando asks softly and Penelope nods, leaning over to grab her iPad, pulling up a photo of the two of them squished together into the camera. Lando's smile tells Penelope all she needs to know, obviously he's totally in love with her, that's why he's grinning like that.
"That's a cute photo, P." Lando says. Jackpot. Shifting to lay on his stomach, Lando shuts his laptop on the couch and Penelope spends the rest of their three hour time talking non-stop about you to Lando. Practically making you sound like a damn angel rebirthed onto this Earth, shoving photos of you in his face, giggling like a mad man whenever he asks a question.
Penelope makes sure to have him follow your Instagram, grinning like a madwoman when he agrees to do so. When Max and Kelly come back, Lando stays for dinner, where Kelly informs Penelope you'll be visiting for a few days to do some apartment hunting.
Max seems to remember Lando lives alone and asks once more.
"I could clean the room out if she needs it," Lando says a bit more enthusiastically now. Penelope pats herself on the back as he says, "When Yn gets here, she can come over and take a look--just, just--just remind me to clean up. It's a bit messy."
"Wouldn't expect anything less from you, mate." Max grins and Lando sheepishly tries to defend himself while Kelly watches with a small smile, looking over to where Penelope eagerly grins.
A few days later, you fly in to Monaco. When the Verstappen-Piquet family stops by to visit, you greet them with tight hugs. Maneuvering around your big suitcase laying on the floor, you surprise Max and Kelly with a gift of a few baby items as well as some other much needed items for the couple. Namely, a gift card to Penelope's favorite store, which Max prompty hands back to you with the words, "she'd prefer shopping with her older 'sister'" tossed over his shoulder. The two don't stay long, having a flight to catch to the FIA Awards ceremony. So, Penelope stays in your hotel room while Max and Kelly go off, and you give her free reign to do whatever she wishes.
It only takes about ten minutes into you two being alone for Penelope to ask about the apartment search, almost bursting at the seams with a sense of excitement thats rare--even for her.
"Who told you that?" You spin around to poke your head out of the doorway, hands on your hips. You've spent the last twenty minutes trying to organize the tiny bathroom counter to fit most of your cosmetics and other items for the next few weeks you'd be staying here.
"I heard Maxie talking about it." Penelope looks up with big eyes, emphasizing her sad tone, "You aren't gonna live with us anymore?"
Sighing softly, you make your way across the room, sitting down next to a pouting Penelope on the bed, snatching her bottom lip between your fingers and lightly pulling it to make her giggle and roll away as you call, "keep your mouth like that and your face will freeze there forever!"
"It's gonna stay like this because I'm mad!" She groans, forcing back her smile and giggles, and sitting up and crossing her arms. Now overkill pouting to get her point across, "You aren't gonna live with me!"
"P, I don't fit in your place anymore." You sigh softly, laying across the bed and holding out an arm so the child can crawl over to lay against your side, "we gotta make room for the baby."
"We have to change everything for the baby!" Comes the sharp reply you were expecting. Max had warned you Penelope seemed a little snippy recently. While excited to have a little brother or sister, it was obvious Penelope was also feeling left out.
"Penelope," You soothe, rolling onto your side to prop your head up on a hand, "babies are a big change and unlike you and me, they can't take care of themselves. That's why your Momma and Max have to do all these classes, and appointments and everything. They've gotta make sure they're ready for the little thing."
"But the baby isn't even here yet and it's ruining everything!" Penelope laments, curling into your side, "Momma doesn't play anymore, Max is always busy moving stuff around, we haven't even had a movie night recently because Momma's been so tired!"
"I'm sorry, baby." You sigh. Totally unknowingly feeding right into Penelope's carefully laid trap, "you're allowed to be upset, but you have to also understand this is what has to happen."
"Will it go back to normal when the baby gets here?" Penelope looks up and you give her a little shrug, running a hand through her hair,
"Not for a while, baby."
"Can we go back to normal? Even if you don't live with us anymore?" Penelope sits up now, dragging you to join her and you smile, lifting her up to sit right on your lap as you fix up her unruly hair--another sign of Kelly's growing baby bump, the lack of Penelope hair-dos.
"We'll always be the same, and I'm looking at staying nearby. It'll be an adjustment but it won't be awful." You smile, tucking her hair up into a braid, securing it with a little bow at the end, "Wanna go get something to eat? Max gave me back the babysitting allowance card..."
Hook. Line. Sinker.
"Please!" Penelope gasps, standing up off your lap and jumping off the bed to grab her bag. A little stuffed cat Jelly Cat bag you think hearing Lando had snagged on a trip recently for the little girl. It's cute, and Penelope smiles when she sees you eyeing it.
"Lando got me this!" She proudly exclaims, holding it up as you slip on your shoes.
"Yeah?" You ask, walking to the door as Penelope bounces behind you, grinning wide enough her cheeks puff up, "you two seem to get along."
"He's really cool! You guys could be friends," Penelope laments, dragging you out of the hotel room once you have your shoes, jacket, and purse securely fastened for her little rollercoaster of a personality, "He thinks you're pretty."
Which, isn't exactly true, but it makes your face warm enough for Penelope as you step into the chilly air.
"Well, thats very kind of him," is your reply as you turn towards the coastline, hosting Penelope up into your arms so you don't have to worry about the curious five year old scurrying off.
You end up at one of Penelope's favorites, Costadoro Social. The place is downright adorable, and you manage to snag a window table. While you order, Penelope gets out only the best pages from her sticker book for the both of you to put together. Once you're both settled in, sandwiches and drinks (yours a coffee and hers a hot chocolate), the crowd mills out of the building. Leaving you and a somewhat familiar couple off in a corner, a third chair at their table yanked out like it's expecting someone to swing by.
As you two start on some winter scene in this very exact ticker book, Penelope rattles off countless stories to you about the weekend in Abu Dhabi. When she gasps, asking to show you the stickers she gave to Lando, you notice the curly headed man at the other table peeks over before turning to his girlfriend to ask something.
She shrugs, and the bell dings on the entry door. The woman behind the counter cheerily greeting the newcomer as you look down to where Penelope proudly shows you a picture Kelly had taken with her and Lando, showing off his stickers.
"They made him go fast and win," Penelope happily says, settling back in her seat. You nod, of course it was the stickers. Not because Lando was a professional, but Penelope looks smug like she'd been the reason for the McLaren WCC, so you let it slide. It's cute.
A Laufey cover of 'I've Got My Love To Keep Me Warm' begins to play as you pull out your phone to show Penelope your mothers cats back home, as well as some other photos of the short trip back home.
The man at the table stands, walking over, and the motion catches Penelope's watchful eye as the two men give a short hug to one another--wishing happy holidays. You set your phone down, looking over as you sip your drink, and the dimpled smile of one of the men catches your eye.
He's cute.
He turns, as if feeling your gaze, and before you can jerk back he grins widely, "Hey Pen!"
"Lando!" Penelope squeaks, wiggling out of her chair and bounding over to give him a hug. The two share quick pleasantries and an introduction to Lando's friends--Max and Pietra, before Penelope gasps and runs over to you, "Lando, it's Yn!"
You stand at the mention of your name, hustling over with a sheepish smile as Penelope grabs your hand and drags you over like she'll die if she doesn't get the chance to.
"Hi," you squeak, shaking his awaiting hand, "It's nice to meet you, Penelope talks about you a lot."
His cheeks are rosy as you shake his hand, and a tiny grin pokes at Lando's lips as he nods, "she talks about you a lot, too."
"I told you she was pretty!" Penelope chimes, making Max nearly snort out his coffee while Pietra laughs softly. You and Lando are a bit closer to mortified at Penelope's insistence, and you manage to get her to say goodbye so the group can enjoy their lunch together since she does have dance rehearsal soon.
About two hours or so later, you get back to Max and Kelly's post rehearsal. And while Penelope curls up all about tuckered out from running amuck down the shopping districts, learning new ballet moves, and endlessly mentioning Lando like a lovesick teenager, you pull up your phone and scroll through your feed as Penelope fights off a nap.
It's due time for an Instagram post anyways.

You're halfway through helping Penelope with wrapping a christmas present for her dance teacher when Max knocks on the doorway. You turn around, standing when he beckons you over.
"How's Kelly?" You ask softly, knowing she's trying to sleep off a bout of morning sickness. Max shrugs, sipping his Red Bull.
"A bit ill, but she seems to be getting better. Penelope's fine?"
You nod, looking back as Penelope crosses her arms and scowls at all the options for the bow she could put on the bag.
"Lando's cleaned his apartment, finally," Max watches Penelope with a soft look, before turning to you and leaning on the wall with a tired yawn. He's still adjusting from the season, and the early sun dipping behind the buildings wasn't helping his sleep cycle.
"You should go over, take a little tour." Max hums, "You deserve a break from watching P all day."
"It's quite literally what you pay me to do, Max." You laugh softly, but with a few more pushes of insistence you finally agree. He shoots Lando a text to let him know you're on your way down as you grab a pair of Uggs you wear indoors, and your keys so you don't get locked out.
The elevator ride down is short, and you walk into the warm hallway to see Lando down the hall peeking out. He smiles at your approach and holds open the door for you.
"Nice to see you again," He chimes as you enter. It's been about a week since you've seen him, now teetering close to Christmas, and you smile at him.
"Nice to see you too, Lando." You hum, and he brings you to the spare room. It's spacious, with a big window that looks over the entire Monaco bay. You're drawn to it like a moth to a flame, it's perfect. Everything you could've dreamed of and more. Lando makes sure to show you the ensuite bathroom and large closet.
Everything feels too good to be true, so you quickly ask, "How much would you want me to pay you in rent?"
"Rent?" Lando pauses in the kitchen where he'd offered to get you a soda from his sparse fridge. He shakes his head, leaning on the counter and taking a sip of his water bottle, "Max told me your budgets quite small. I figured I could pay rent and you could pay like... utility?"
"That's gotta be like a quarter of what you pay for this place, Lando. I have a good amount saved up!" You protest and he shakes his head, a tiny smile on his lips.
"Listen, you're honestly doing me a favor. You probably know how to make a house a proper functioning home. I barely know how to not burn leftovers when I reheat them." He chides himself and you break into a tiny laugh, missing the way his face gets rosy at your giggles, "I need a bit of help making this place look... homey. And Max told me you'd be good at that."
"So I'm helping you learn to adult to pay my rent?" You ask and your bluntness makes Lando flush as he rubs the back of his neck and looks down with a shrug.
"If that's okay..?"
"I mean... I'd like to pay, but if you wanna do it this way, fine... But if I end up staying here for a long time, you have to let me help with rent." You hold a hand out like this will seal the deal and Lando grins, his embarrassment forgotten as he darts over to happily shake your hand. You try to ignore how warm his hands are against your cold ones.
"Welcome home, then--oh! I have a spare key for you!" He tries to flash you a charming smile, but the excited expression taking over just makes his face go through far too many expressions in a row. You can't help but laugh, looking around the bare but clearly well loved apartment.
It could use some work, sure, but thats your job now... you suppose.

After moving to America to join the Avengers, Wanda wants to finally make a friend to ease her loneliness. She hopes to become friends with you, and frankly, Wanda idolizes you, but her social skills are... subpar at best.

gif credit to (i tried really hard and i CANNOT find who made this gif im sorry)
Wanda Maximoff never really had an education as a child. What education was available in Sokovia was expensive, and despite her fatherâs late working hours, the twinsâ parents could only ever afford their apartmentâs rent. The twins were homeschooled as well as their parents could teach them, but after the bombing, they were on their own.Â
Government-funded schooling helped them for only so long. The schools they were sent to were decaying, and always under dwindling government watch from ongoing airstrikes. The ground shook with explosive tremors as they commuted to school on foot. Wanda and Pietro stayed at an orphanage with hundreds of other children whose parents had passed due to the war â and the Avengers.Â
Even the governmentâs debt caught up with what was left of Sokovia. Billions of foreign debt not paid, volume of imports that had increased exponentially since Sokovia worked on rebuilding their country werenât making enough revenue to pay exporters back. Hundreds of children were booted from government care and onto the streets. The twins attempted to learn on their own, to become informed educated people if they were to ever make a difference in the world, but in Sokovia, even resilience could only get one so far.
Then, Doctor Strucker came along, promising them the extermination of the Avengers, the Western terrorists who had made the already politically-unstable and war-torn country their battleground.Â
In hopes to cure the world from their terrorist reign, both Wanda and Pietro agreed to Struckerâs experiments, but the education they were given intended for them to become weapons. They knew little of real geography and world history â only HYDRAâs propaganda meant to poison their minds with blind hatred and little else.
When it seemed like you couldnât be any more different from Wanda as it was, you were also the teamâs brain. Stark and Banner specialised in physics and mechanics, but you were the teamâs hub for everything else. From computer science to philosophy, you knew everything. No one exceeded you in developing team strategy, setting the stages for mission locations, profiling adversaries, and a dozen of other things Wanda couldnât have even fathomed when she first met the Avengers in person.
It took Wanda only several moments to realise you werenât a frontline fighter from your muffled voice in the Avengersâ earpieces to their callouts of your name as frequent, and perhaps even moreso, than their teammates that fought alongside them on the field despite your physical absence.Â
Y/N â that was your name.Â
When she had fought the Avengers in Novi Grad, creeping behind the Western superpowers like a heavy looming shadow, Wanda had looked for you. Strategically, it was a rational move. You were the centre of their battle, the heart of their teamwork.
And yet, you were nowhere to be found.
It was only until she had crept up behind Clint Barton when your voice grew clearer than ever before. From the tiny earpiece, you were controlling the field. Perhaps you were just outside, or maybe you were in another country. No matter the distance, Wanda supposed your hold on the battle would be no less effective.Â
It was the distraction of thinking about you, perhaps â Y/N, the invisible hand â or Bartonâs sole intuition, Wanda did not know, nor did she have very much time to think it over, that had made it possible for him to counter her magic.Â
Then there was pain â immeasurable pain that Wanda hadnât felt since Struckerâs experiments. It shot through her forehead like a dozen bullets had permeated through her skull. Pietro grounded her, and soon after, the twins targeted Banner.
Despite the rumours about him, the insatiable angry force he was told to be, his mind was the easiest to corrupt. Mental instability and insecurity racked his mind, and he quickly shifted into the green beast the Maximoffs had heard so much about.Â
Carrying his younger sister, Pietro took the two of them back to Ultronâs base.Â
They had won that day.
You were all Wanda could think about even while she and Pietro were off missions. You werenât the Avengersâ frontline defence like Steve Rogers, nor were you the brute strength of the team like Bruce Banner. You held your team in your hands rather than tugging them along by their leashes although you likely could if you wanted to.
Y/N.Â
Who were you?
On the television after the fight on Novi Grad, Iron Man and Hulkâs brawl in Johannesburg was on the news. The city was in shambles. Pietro said something about the deaths of innocents and the success of his sisterâs magic in having the Avengers turn against themselves. But Wanda could only think of what you had thought when Stark and Banner came back to their compound, beaten and sore from none other than their own fists. Wanda assumed the Avengersâ compound â wherever that was â was where you were too.Â
Wanda wondered how you were dealing with the fight at Johannesburg. What were you saying about her and Pietro?
Later that day, Ultron approached the twins in their bedroom and turned on the television. Despite having been offered separate bedrooms, they insisted on sharing one. Sitting atop their respective beds on the opposite sides of the room, there was someone speaking on the television about Johannesburg across from the interviewer. Their expression was stern but their eyes were solemn. Eyebrows were furrowed together, masking concern and worry; if Wanda knew anything, it was how to read someone.
âY/N,â the interviewer began, and Wandaâs eyes widened, her head lifting from being held up by her hands, elbows on her pillow as it laid flat atop her crossed legs. âAs the Avengersâ strategist, as many put it, how are you planning on handling the devastation that came upon Johannesburg, and the inevitable contact that the Avengers will continue to have with innocent uninvolved civilians?â
The question was packed, and the news station quite clearly had their own sentiments about the Avengers; they were setting you up.
So that was how you looked. Wanda swallowed and felt her chest flutter.
With your upper lip stiff and your posture unbelievably straight, you answered without equivocation. âA common misinformed perspective of any conflict follows the belief that there is any one party entirely responsible for the consequences of violent confrontation, such as the one we witnessed in Johannesburg,â you were saying. With the way her wide eyes were pinned on the television screen, Wanda didnât notice the way her brother eyed her obviously piqued interest.
âI donât believe the Avengers are the worldâs most honourable superheroes,â you continued. Ultron shifted and Wandaâs head tipped to the side, her interest in you ever growing. âI donât think anyone is, no matter whose side youâve taken since the conflict recently â and perhaps even after the invasion of New Yorkâs in 2012.â
That was The Incident, Wanda recalled, when the Avengers terrorised New York. Thatâs what HYDRA had always told her and Pietro.
âDespite whose side you may be on, as differing as our collective opinions may be, one thing is undeniable â we are all trying to reach a goal of peace for the world, fighting for what we believe is just. There is nothing more powerful than that. Perhaps, it is idealism that serves to be the strength of humanity.â
Ultron laughed morosely. He ridiculed your words, but Wanda wasnât listening. Whatever you were talking about wasnât only about Johannesburg. What were you referencing? Who were your words meant for?
Suddenly, your head turned to the camera and Wanda met your eyes. Everything in her froze, her eyes undeviating from your face.
âWanda and Pietro Maximoff,â you spoke. Pietro looked over at Wanda, shock written on every inch of his face, and Ultronâs eyes darted between the twins, almost accusationally as he undoubtedly suspected coercion. Wanda almost expected you to step through the television screen and into her bedroom. âI know what you want.â
The screen was shut off suddenly, the black mirror of the television reflecting Wandaâs astonished expression. She looked away, shutting her eyes as she felt the burning gaze of Ultron on her. But your words reverberated in Wandaâs mind until your every feature and movement of your lips was memorised. Like a promise, like an ode, your words were immortalised within her.
Pietro wasnât there when you took Wanda in your arms and saved her from a falling Sokovia. He wasnât there when you laid her down onto the Helicarrier, nor when you took her hand and told her sheâd be taken care of. Wanda cried into your chest at the sight of her brotherâs body.
What would he have said if he saw the way your arm refused to leave from around Wandaâs shoulders as the two of them trailed behind his body while he was carried into the compound?
Pietro liked you, and wouldâve loved to meet you. He referenced your broadcasted interview several times during their fight in Sokovia. He was proud to work with the Avengers, and proud to finally work towards their goal to help people just like them. He wanted to meet you.
Your voice was different from what Wanda remembered from the broadcast, and not because her memory had failed her, but because you were just⌠different. You were real, and not a picture on a wall or an untouchable reality forever separated from her by a television screen. As she watched you talk and laugh with the other Avengers, you were real.
But if Wanda was honest, she was much too shy to even start a conversation with you. Perhaps it mightâve been easier to approach you if you were an admired character on one of her favourite television shows, but it was exactly what made her admire you so much that also made her feel so shy around you.Â
Granted, there was much to adjust to now that she lived in America and was now a part of the Avengers, and she did believe herself to be a generally introverted person, but she was especially nervous around you.
Wanda had gotten enough confidence to speak with some team members. Natasha was welcoming and kind. Thor was easy not to feel nervous around, but his energy was far too much for Wanda to handle just yet. Bruce was much more comfortable to chat with, and Wanda found that he was able to be rather nice once he forgave her for her associations with Ultron. Steve was always very kind to Wanda and she felt very safe around him, with Steve always trying to make her feel like part of the team, but she found that they didnât have very much in common.
And there was Vision, who seemed to have taken a liking to her since even before the final battle against Ultron. He was nice company, but she found her mind preoccupied thinking of you while in his company, wishing that it was you who gave her as much attention as Vision did.
However, sheâd been wanting to start a conversation with you since the day she arrived at the compound. Initially, she needed time to herself, and along with Steve, you also made the effort to check in on her and give her your support.
Once she was finally able to gain some footing in adjusting to things while shouldering the weight of her losses, Wanda started becoming more active within the team by joining training sessions. During them, she found herself unable to stop looking at you, watching what you were doing, seeing how you interacted with everyone.
Even as the Avengersâ primary strategist that was almost never in the field, you still made efforts to train and stay connected and involved with the team â and Wanda quickly learned that training was a major part of team building.
You were everything Wanda wished she could be more like; you were the kind of person she had never thought existed in a world she believed was only full of cruelty and injustice until recently.
There was an upcoming party at the Avengers Tower in celebration of the assigned teamâs return from a successful mission tracking down a recently-located HYDRA base still hiding out. It was almost any ordinary mission, but it was the first step towards steadily eradicating all of HYDRAâs bases, even after Struckerâs primary base was taken down in Sokovia. Though Steve did also tell Wanda that he felt that Tony also primarily wanted to find any reason to celebrate since itâd been some time.
Wanda hadnât been to any of the parties yet, and she thought that sheâd be able to use this one as a chance to start a conversation with you.Â
Wasnât that what people did at parties? Talk?
Truthfully, she didnât quite know for sure â sheâd only ever heard about them through the sitcoms she watched as a child. She knew only of dramatised American portrayals of teenage parties through television.
Whatever it was people actually did at parties, Wanda was certain she would be able to make some effort to talk to you. At least in a social setting, it wouldnât be strange for her to start a conversation with you.
Wanda made herself look nice and presentable, but not too formal since she didnât want to overdress or bring too much attention to herself. She wasnât sure what might happen if her plan to talk with you didnât end up working, and if she was somehow left with nothing to do, she wanted to be able to slip away without anyone noticing, as if she had never made any attempt to come at all.
While deliberating whether it was better to arrive on time or a bit later once the party had been going on for some time, Wanda realised that at some point too much time had passed and her only option now was to join the party a bit later.Â
It was only once she arrived at the penthouse floor where the party was being held that Wanda finally realised how terribly thought-out her plan was.
What would happen if she didnât get to talk with you? What would happen if she did, and she only made a fool of herself? Would it be better, then, to stay as two people whoâd never conversed so that she might retain what impression you had of her now? Even if that meant she would never get to talk with you the way she wanted?
It was far too late now to change her mind if she wanted to, as she soon found herself walking further from the elevators and into the party.Â
The party was rather filled; mostly, they were familiar faces, but it looked like many brought guests, and some guests had brought some of their own. It seemed that Steve was right â atop of celebrating the taking down of the HYDRA base, this was also a social get-together.Â
She was still relatively at the edges of the room, so she was still going unnoticed. As she walked over to the bar, fidgeting with her fingers as she did, she took the time to look around and try to spot you. She reached the bar, crossing her forearms on top of its counter, and tried to draw the least attention to herself while avoiding eye contact with anyone as her eyes raked through the crowd.Â
Eventually she caught sight of you also at the bar, but at the very edge with your own drink, your back facing the party. Wandaâs chest fluttered and she felt she nearly stumbled moving one foot in front of the other when she turned to walk towards you.Â
She worried what would happen if someone suddenly approached you from behind, which would force her to then stop wherever she was standing and pretend she hadnât just failed at her attempt to come up to you.Â
The pressing concern aided her greatly, and she was well on her way to coming up to you without hesitation. But once she actually made her way to your side and once you raised your head from your glass and looked at her, Wanda damned herself for being so distracted, now without a plan or even a terribly-planned script to follow in making conversation with you. She didnât even get to look at what you were wearing.Â
It would be too strange of her to look you up and down before greeting you, right?
âHi,â she said, hoping that the small smile she felt on her face was actually there lest she look like an absolute fool.
You turned around in your seat in order to face her, and now having your complete, undivided attention made Wandaâs legs feel like mush. âHi,â you replied with a friendly smile. âAre you enjoying yourself? I donât think Iâve seen you at a party yet.â
Wanda swallowed and nervously drew shapes against the bar counter with her fingernails, also trying her best to maintain a steady, friendly smile. âNo â this is the first Iâve gone to. I havenât been here for very long. I decided only a moment ago to come.â
âIâm glad you chose to come,â you told her and suggested for her to take the barstool beside you. Wanda lifted herself onto the seat and sat, facing you.
While you were talking, Wanda took the chance to look at what you were wearing. You looked nice, and Wanda thought you always dressed in a way that put-together, respected people did. She saw you in some likeness to the well-dressed characters on the sitcoms she liked â but, of course, modern.Â
Maybe she had been taking too long to respond, for you spoke again: âHow have you been doing? I know that the move must have been rather hard to go through.â
When she took a moment to respond and found that a response wasnât immediately escaping her, Wanda felt panic settle in her chest. She knew she should have planned out what to say. She looked like an idiot in front of you. She didnât know the first thing about socialising or making friends.Â
âIt was hard,â she said finally. âIt is hard. Not so bad now. I mean, Iâm trying to adjust.â
You nodded in understanding and Wanda felt herself losing your interest; she was sure that your responsesâ intentions were now only to remain polite, to keep conversing with her because you knew she didnât make very much effort to go out.Â
Then you asked, âDid you want me to order you a drink?â
âOh, Iâm okay â I donât drink,â Wanda answered, fidgeting with her fingers between her knees. Truthfully, sheâs never tried alcohol before. Maybe she should have taken you up on your offer.Â
âHow have you been getting along with the team?â
âI think well. I like everyone. Theyâve been very kind to me,â Wanda said. She could hear herself as she spoke to you; she sounded robotic and uninteresting. She thought she might try her hand at being honest about what she was thinking then and there. âBut Pietro was always the most social of us both. It is hard to get along with others without him leading the conversation.â
Wanda must have not noticed how solemn she became after she mentioned Pietro, for you reached out and brushed her shoulder with your hand supportively, your fingers squeezing gently around her and lingering for a moment before letting your arm drop.
âI understand,â you sympathised. âYou donât need to pressure yourself into anything â really. I think you fit in here well, and I think youâve been doing a wonderful job.â
That was the first time anyone truly supported Wanda like that; she was supported by the team as she was grieving the loss of her brother, always being told that she had a shoulder to cry on or a helping hand if she ever wanted someone to talk to.Â
There was something frustrating about the way the team approached her grief. They had to have anticipated that she would feel a bit better at some point â or at least well enough to get back to team member material.Â
In the way she was spoken to, Pietro and her struggles with his death were always approached as something she would get over at some point or another â like Pietro was something she was going to get over. She didnât expect anyone to understand how she felt nor to share in her grievances, but it seemed to her that what she was going through was seen only as a temporary distraction to the rest of the team.Â
They were kind in giving her their support, but her grief never seemed quite real enough to them.Â
Granted, she was rather new to the team, so she understood, to some degree, their inability to understand her pain. But it was frustrating, nevertheless.Â
But with you, it was different.Â
You didnât talk about Pietro or her struggles and pain like it was something to get over. You valued her as she was now, and saw her efforts as they were now.Â
Wanda felt slightly pathetic for how worked up she was getting over your response, be it as brief as it was, but what you said meant quite a lot to her. She felt, for the first time, that she was being spoken to as a real person rather than a ball of temporary grief and pain.Â
âThank you⌠I really appreciateââ
She was cut off when you were called to meet one of Tonyâs friends, an expert in software development who had even helped program some of the software you used for communication with the team while they were working on the field. Naturally, they wanted the two of you to meet.Â
For a moment, Wanda forgot how popular you were amongst your colleagues. Why wouldnât you be? It was only that you had a certain kindness and authenticity about you that seemed signature to you. But if Wanda admired that about you, and if she idolised you, why wouldnât anyone else?
You looked at Tony calling you over then at Wanda, who was awkwardly staring at the floor in some pitiful stance of defeat. It made your chest tighten.
This was Wandaâs first time joining in at one of the parties, and you were the first she spoke to. Moreover, there was a kind of sensitivity to her that you knew lay beyond her typical timidity.
Through the conversation with her, you could vaguely see Wandaâs eyes flickering behind your shoulder occasionally, where the floorâs balcony was. From there, one would have a view of the spacious training fields and the expansive forests beyond that separated the base from the main roads.
Tonight, there were clear skies and a rather prominent moon.Â
Gently, you tapped the back of Wandaâs hand that was resting on the edge of the bar to get her attention, and she raised her head and met your eyes.Â
âWould you like to step out onto the balcony with me?â you asked. âIâm not quite in the mood to talk with them right now.â
Wanda seemed to perk up and she straightened in her seat. She nodded, and when you stepped off from your barstool, she followed and trailed behind you as you headed for the balcony.Â
She watched from behind as you led her forward. She played idly with the tips of her fingers as she watched your hair brush against your back, watching the back of your head attentively as if it could tell her anything about you.Â
Frankly, she felt a bit starstruck.
A certain panic settled within her as you opened the balcony door and ushered Wanda outside and into the warm evening air; she didnât know what to say now.Â
She wasnât certain if she was interesting enough at all to have such intimate conversation with.Â
What could she say that could possibly be of interest to you?
In spite of the disappointed chatter and lighthearted jabs from the rest of the team in response to your very-obvious aversion to socialising, you closed the balcony door behind you until it clicked shut softly until it was only you and Wanda outside.Â
âIs it okay that youâre out here with me?â Wanda asked, looking at you as she stepped beside you.Â
âOf course,â you answered and walked forward until you could stand against the rails of the balcony. âWhy not?â
Wanda appreciated how easy it was to talk with you, and how your relationship with the team wasnât all that you were. âI thought that maybe you might prefer being out there.â
âNo â I want to be here.â
Wanda flushed and she looked away, using the excuse of looking out past the training fields as an excuse to hide her face from you.Â
Making a bold move, Wanda thought that she might be honest with you; she had the real opportunity to make a friend, granted she pulled it off. âY/N, I really appreciate you being so kind to me.â She garnered some confidence and turned her body and looked at you.
âYou donât have to thank me for that,â you replied bashfully, and Wanda noticed that you also seemed a bit timid. She thought you were sensitive, and she liked that.
âBut also,â Wanda added, taking in a small breath, âI really appreciate your effort in being sympathetic towards Pietro and I, even when we did not deserve it â especially after Johannesburg. Before your interview broadcast, I had never known of such kindness. It seemed you knew more about what Pietro and I wanted before even we did.â
Without a thought behind it, Wandaâs eyes left yours and she added, âI wish he was able to meet you. I am sure he would have felt equally as stunned by you.â
You asked, âI stun you now, do I?â
Surprised by the realisation of what she said aloud, Wanda looked at you and at the sight of your slight smile, also realised that you were teasing her. She flushed and rubbed her warm cheek with the back of her knuckle and distracted herself with two of the party guests walking through the field.
Wanda reminded herself that she came to make a friend â to be friends with you. So she spoke again. âTo be honest, yes,â she replied. âI think you are admirable; everyone seems to like you very much, and the kind of bravery and kindness you have is of a kind I did not previously know could ever be sincere.â
She finally said it, and now, Wanda felt anxious about what you might say next.
You shifted and repositioned yourself as you pondered for a moment in consideration. âWell, I have to confess that most if not all of my bravery is rather insincere â Iâm truly not as brave as you might think. In fact, I would argue that youâre more brave than I; youâve experienced so much, undergone so much change, and yet you seem to have more drive than anyone to try your hardest at adjusting and getting back on your feet.âÂ
You thought she was braver than you? Wanda could collapse. She felt her chest flutter.
âBut⌠the kindness,â you said, âis very sincere. Iâm glad you see it that way.â
Wanda found herself stepping closer to you, feeling more comfortable in your company and feeling that she wanted to be closer to you physically, to hear your words within a closer vicinity and to see your face free of the soft shadows that the moonlight casted along the curve of your nose and the angle of your cheekbone.Â
âI think youâre really special,â you told her. âIâm happy that youâre a part of the team. Iâm glad youâre here.â
In all her life, there was only one place Wanda ever felt she belonged â with her family. Over some time, what this meant was redefined with the bombing of her home when she was ten and, recently, with the loss of her brother. There was a feeling of loss, an empty pit that burrowed itself within the deepest depths of Wandaâs identity where Pietro and her family and some sort of identity should have been.
It was not only others and her country that she lost, but a part of herself, when all the landmarks she had ever belonged to were stolen from her. But if she could learn anything from still being able to stand where she was and try her best and be brave â like you said â in spite of all her loss and grief, it was that she was not all that she identified herself with.
She still existed, and was still worth something, even without all that was lost.
It would be difficult to even begin finding who she was, exactly, without Pietro and Sokovia and her parents and the truths of herself and the world that HYDRA had always taught her. But she hoped that you might be at least the first step to her self-discovery â you were her first friend.
âAre you alright?â you asked, tipping your head down slightly to try getting a better look at Wandaâs face.Â
Wanda had lost herself in her thoughts and forgot to reply to you. She must have been silent for a bit of time. âYes, Iâm okay.â She subtly swiped at her cheeks when she realised she was crying â perhaps it was from thinking of her family or of Sokovia, though she couldnât pinpoint exactly when the moment was that she started crying â as she looked over at the field for a distraction again.
Without another word, you stepped forward and wrapped an arm around Wandaâs shoulders, bringing her against your body in a soft hug. It was wordless and quiet and casual â support and comfort without any conditions.
Every time Wanda believed that sheâd fully grasped the worldâs capacity for kindness, believed that there couldn't possibly be something more gentle than what you have thus far shown her, you prove her wrong.Â
She hoped she would never be right.

dreams - Matt Sturniolo
summary: the last thing you expected when you stayed over for the night at your best friend matt's house, was him rubbing himself against the mattress while moaning your name in his sleep, you obviously have to help him out?
contains: wet dream, switch!matt, teasing, fluff.
-----------------------------------------------âââââ
i've known matt since middle school, hes been my best friend since then. i stay round at his house often, its like my happy place when i get to be around him.
tonight is one of those nights where i stay round at matt's, we just finished watching stranger things season 4 for the 90th time and now we're heading up the stairs to his room.
"that show, is a fucking cinematic master piece." matt scoffs, walking up the stairs close behind me.
"it came out like 2 years ago matt, how are you not sick of it?" i laugh, my brandy melville shorts riding up my ass slightly as i reach the top of the stairs.
"it just never gets old," matt replies, i swing open the door to his bedroom and jump into his silk sheets.
"why does it smell so good in here?" i groan with a grin,
"don'tt lie." matt smiles, "i'm honestly not!! it does smell good for once."
"hey- i am a hygienic man." he points a finger at me before tearing his shirt off from over his head, he sorts through his wardrobe, looking through all the individually folded shirts.
he sets on a blue loose shirt, with the text 'it's been one of those days'
"cute!" i smile at him, he smiles back before jumping into bed beside me, launching me a couple inches into the air.
"matthew!" i hit him playfully, "oops." he teases back.
i lay my head on his chest, matt fidgets with my hair, i slowly drift off to sleep with his long fingers intertwined in my locks.
------------
3:38am
my eyes squint open as noises from the other side of the bed fill my ears.
matt is on the edge of the mattress, about 2 feet between us.
"fuck- mfgh, oh--" he moans lightly,
his hips repeatedly thrust into the mattress, his face is buried in the pillow but his hair flops with each thrust.
"y/n- please!" he whines,
my stomach sinks as soon as i hear my name fall from his lips,
was he having a sex dream about me?
i know matt would be embarrassed if he knew i was watching him, but i was kind of.. enjoying this? i've always thought about matt in ways i wouldn't like to admit, but he is hot.
i decide to wake him up, i place my manicured hand on his shoulder. i grip his boney shoulder tight and shake him.
"matt!" i whisper-yell,
his thrusts instantly stop, and his head snaps up. his cheeks are flushed red and his lips are a raw pink.
he looks down at the wet spot on the mattress, then back up at me.
"uh- um yeah? you okay?" matt stutters out, trying to play it off.
"what was that sweetheart?" i whisper, sitting up. matt rolls over onto his back, i take the opportunity which is in front of me and sit up, i straddle his thighs and look down at him
he attempts to string together a coherent sentence, but only random words come out "im sorry- you heard that?" he squeezes out.
i drag my nails over the large tent in his pants
matt squeezes out a loud whimper, "i think i heard something come out of your mouth while you were rubbing yourself on the mattress." i say, my voice soft.
"mm-" matt hums, rubbing his eyes
"i heard.. my name?" i tease, matt covers his face with his hands
"'m sorry- 'm so sorry" matt whines.
"tell me about your dream matt."
he shakes his head, i run my hand over his bulge again and matt starts talking
"you- were saying how- how you needed me, and-and i was fucking you- 'm sorry!" matt says, his voice barely audible and he cuts himself off.
"thats okay baby." i smile, tugging down his waistband.
"please-" matt groans.
"i know." i say, reaching out and grabbing his length. his tip is the same shade as his pink lips and leaking precum, he has veins travelling up his dick.
"you have a pretty dick matt." i tell him, pumping slowly and running a thumb over his slit.
"thank- thank you" matt breathes,
"you want me to ride you matt?" i whisper into his ear, matt nods frantically, i pull my shorts to the side slightly,
"such a whore, dreaming about fucking your best friend." i scoff, scooting up and hovering above his tip. i sink down onto his cock,
i bottom out quickly, the craving for his dick overpowering me. he stretches me well, his tip resting against my cervix.
"matt" i whine, matt lets out loud whimpers as he balls up the sheets in his hands.
"so- tight" matt mumbles, i bounce up and down on his length. "fuck! mfgh" he almost yells,
"you dream about me often matt?" i say with a light moan
"yes- yes!" matt whines, "how often" i press him, "god- every couple days?" he replies.
"i want you to fuck me, can you do that for me?" i whisper, matt nods frantically before flipping us over,
my back hits the mattress, matt doesn't waste time to start thrusting into me, just like how he was into the mattress 10 minutes ago,
his hair bounces on his forehead with each thrust, matt reaches his tattoed arm up to my jaw, forcing me to look up at him.
"im- im close" i warn him,
"i know, 'feel you clenching." matt breathes out,
i clench around him, matt reaches his spare hand down and traces small circles around my sensitive clit.
i feel my orgasm wash over me, my legs shake as i arch my back off the bed, feeling all of my built up pleasure release at once.
matt instantly pulls out and paints my stomach with warm white streaks, he flops down next to me with a groan.
matt pulls me onto his chest, breathing heavily into his ear.
"are you okay?' i ask him with a small giggle,
"more than okay-" matt sighs with a smile.
we lay in silence for a couple minutes before matt breaks it with a muffled laugh
"whats funny matt?" i sigh with a grin, exhausted and fucked out.
"i think if someone told me yesterday that i would be fucking my best friend at 4am tomorrow i would've laughed in their face."
i let out a loud laugh, "thats pretty understandable."

Water Colour Eyes
Chapter 01
Y Batfam x Gn Reader
Featuring: platonic Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Tim Drake, Damian Wayne (no Jason in this chapter)
2.3k words
Im very new to tumblr and was recently inspired by @acid-ixx to try writing my own story, please go easy on me but any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. (Im still trying to figure out how this app works but I know the basics). The only knowledge I have of working in a restaurant is bistro huddy.
Rubbing your temples you could just feel the headache forming. It was going to be one of those shifts, the kind that drags on and on. Standing behind the hostess stand shuffling through the reservation book scanning for anything out of the ordinary. Flipping through the pages only pausing once you spot his name âBruce Wayneâ. That name became a fixture in the book, always booking at 6:30 and specifically requesting you as his server. Within the past 2 months heâs definitely become your regular, and although he is technically your only regular, he just has a certain quality that sets him apart from your co-workers regulars. Sure heâs a pleasure to have as a customer, always punctual, kind, and very generous with the tips. Thereâs just something you canât quite place your finger on, he tends to get a little personal. He started calling you by your first name, and always asked you about your life. But youâve always chalked it up to him being a ditzy guy whoâs never been told no. Even if he carries himself with a certain air, alluding that he knows much more than he lets on. it seems like no one else questions it, so why should you? Regardless, his tips were good enough to let him call you by your name and ask you about your personal life.
La Vie Royale was always busy on Fridays. Swarming with creeps who always stared too long, and buzzing with heiresses who always had something to complain about. For being Gothams richest they almost never tipped well, and when they did it was some lonely wealthy old weirdo on a date with their sugar baby. Co-workers werenât much help either, specifically the superiors always criticizing and critiquing never bothering to hide the contempt in their voices when speaking. The Kitchen was like another world, one you werenât welcome in. The other servers stayed in their lane, and always kept to each other. Thatâs what itâs like for every newbie who somehow snatches Gothams richest billionaire for a regular. The only saving grace was the hostesses who, like you, were at the bottom of the La Vie Royale food chain.
Glancing at the clock reading 5:47, plenty of time to mentally prepare for dealing with Albertine while you serve the playboy billionaire. Albertine was possibly the worst manager for the night, sheâd always get so on edge when sheâd find out he was dining here for the evening. Glancing over and you can see her talking to one of the other servers, eyes locked on you. God, you could just feel that headache getting worse, and after a long day of classes you pray heâd be a no show for once. Wishful thinking though, the best you can hope for is getting through this shift without a lecture. Rather than contemplating how dreadful this shift will be at the hostess stand, you might as well look busy and get a head start on your side work.
Once the minute hand hit 30 like clock work, Bruce Wayne walked in. Smiling at the familiar face of the regular, this time he wasnât alone. Three young men walked in right after. Raising an eyebrow, they were clearly in the same party. Why didnât his assistant say heâd have guests when they booked him the reservation? Looking more closely at the boys itâs clear they also have that odd quality in common with Mr Wayne. One looked barely out of high school, and had been scrolling on his phone with a smirk on his face. The youngest, likely in middle school, had an aura that demanded a respect unfit for his age. The oldest, probably in his mid twenties, seemed to have a natural charm to him. You had always known Wayne had his fair share of children, he talked about them often although you could never put a name to a face.
âWow Mr Wayne, you finally brought some guests with you todayâ you tease as you greet the group and check them in for their reservation. you hear a chuckle and glance up to see Bruceâs smile, itâs warm and reaches his eyes. âWell I figured it was about time I took my kids out with meâ. Giving a polite nod and smiling as he introduces his kids. âI see, your table will ready in a few minutes, we didnât expect you to bring any guests tonightâ Mr Wayne huffs eyeing the oldest âI apologize it was a last minute change in plans, Dick was visiting and insisted on going outâ The oldest Dick chimes in âyouâll still be able to fit us in right?â His voice is calm, like he knows the answer and just wants you to hear you talk. â Iâm sure we can, Iâll just have to go clear the tableâ eyes glued to the reservation book, moving some other reservations around to accommodate the new change. Something a restaurant as refined as La Vie Royale would never do, although Albertine and every other superior insisted that Mr Wayne be accommodated in any way possible. He brought good press, and according to a rumour amongst the staff he even considered buying it a while back. Giving the group a polite nod as you rush off, to clear the other tables. Missing the brief dejected look on the oldest boy's face.
Albertine noticing the Wayne family standing alone makes a beeline towards them. âHave you been helped yet?â She asks in a voice the family could only describe as sickly sweet. âYes our server is just clearing the tableâ Timâs voice monotone, not even bothering to glance up from his phone. Albertine pauses, eyes widening for a split second then back to the false smile âI seeâ she says as if contemplating something before walking away, sending a sharp glare in your direction as she does. The interaction not going unnoticed by the Wayneâs. âyou will be at fault if they get reprimandedâ Damian pipes up glaring at Tim. Staring down at the younger Wayne, âsheâll find something to get mad at tonight no matter whatâ he argues back, knoe he doesnât have the best excuse. A small feeling of guilt starts to bubble in his chest. Tim realized his slip up too late. It's likely youâll get yelled at for keeping such âprestigious guests waitingâ once theyâve finished with their meal. Glancing at Dickâs and Bruceâs faces, itâs clear theyâre planning ways to ease the consequences youâll likely face later tonight. Tim glances back down to Damian only to find his glare still present.
âThank you for your patienceâ your voice pulls them out of their trance, calming down the rising tension. It reminds them of why they came tonight, to see you. Oblivious to their true intentions you smile, grabbing the menus âfollow meâ. As you lead them to their table Bruce and Tim make note of how many others are sitting in your section for the night, some of them they recognize from galas others are unimportant. however your section is completely full. Finally reaching their table, it isnât Bruceâs normal table much to his disdain; he doesn't have the vantage point to subtly watch over you. Although one thing he can see from his seat is that horrid woman glaring at you, waiting for the chance to take you away from them only just to scold you. After dropping off the menus and giving a rundown of the night's specials, you leave telling them youâll be back in a few minutes for their orders. As you walk away Bruce notices your manager snapping with her hands and glaring at you with that permanent scowl on her face. She motions for you to follow her to the back.
After witnessing that interaction the boys are only left to imagine what sheâs yelling at you about. Most of the family members are able to hide their contempt after seeing your manager's rude behaviour, the witchâs actions will likely dictate the mood for the rest of the night. Dick is the only one visibly upset, BlĂźdhaven has been so chaotic recently getting to see you tonight had been the only thing that kept him from falling apart. Now because that wicked witch of the waste is on some power trip, whatever lecture sheâs giving you right now will weigh on you the whole night, leaving you to be even more reserved than you already are. How is he supposed to be a good brother to you if you don't let him in?,The rest of the family comes to a similar conclusion. It's clear that this job environment is an unhealthy one, they would rather you work somewhere else, or better yet not at all. The only reason theyâve allowed you to work here for so long is because itâs the most practical way to grow closer to you. Once theyâre further along with the plan, you wonât ever have to step foot in this place again.
âSorry about the waitâ your voice soft, eyes not meeting theirs, face carrying a faint frustration. their prediction clearly came to fruition, much to the familyâs displeasure. âWhat can I get yâall to drinkâ you smile, attempting to remain composed as you take their orders. A quality of yours the family admired, although they often wished youâd take your mask off and allow yourself to be vulnerable around them. But for now theyâre your guests, not your family. Writing down their order smiling the same forced smile âperfect Iâll be right back with thoseâ once again walking away. âWhy canât that women understand theyâre not meant to handle that much pressure, itâs absurd how she expects them to perform optimally nowâ Damian voices his opinion, his expression unreadable to most but itâs evident to the family heâs unbelievably angry at just how much you let that women affect you. âWhy canât you just fire her, it would make our baby bird's life much easierâ Dick who is also in aggrence, his protectiveness evident in his voice. Dickâs question goes unanswered. Truthfully even if some of the family tries to dĂŠnie it, the reason they kept all these horrible coworkers around you was selfish. They wanted to push you to your limits, before they swooped in to save you.
3 minutes is the standard time for a table to wait for drinks. However with the Waynes your managers instilled into the whole staff that they never wait for a table, 1 minute 50 seconds is their standard for drinks and 25 minutes for food. With Albertine breathing down your neck, having 4 other tables to attend too, and a pounding headache. thereâs not much keeping you from breaking down. The only thing you want right now is your bed, but that wonât happen for at least another 4 hours depending on when you're cut. At least Roa clocks in at 7:00, which is in roughly 10 minutes. Finishing off the drinks with Bruceâs red wine, you push down your stress and prepare to head over. âHere you goâ you place everyoneâs respective drinks in front of them. âIs everyone ready to orderâ hand instivily reaching for your notebook, but remembering what Albertine told you in the back âif you want to look somewhat professional at least memorize their orders, no notepadâ you stop yourself, and pray they donât order anything too complicated. âIâll have the 8oz steak, medium rareâ Burceâs order wouldnât be a problem, he always got the same thing. âCan I get the Coq au vinâ the oldest boy orders, who youâre pretty sure is dick. Tim goes next âIâll get the boeuf bourguignonâ, he has a satisfied smirk, probably because he has the best pronunciation so far. âmay I have the ratatouilleâ The youngest orders, clearly annoyed by his brotherâs antics. âPerfect Iâll go ring those inâ, mumbling their orders to yourself as you ring them in, thankful they didnât ask for any accommodations or changes you should be able to remember them just fine.
âThey wonât make a mistake will they?â Dick asks, stressed at the fact they didnât grab their notebook. âThey shouldnât, although if you ordered what you originally wanted they definitely would haveâ Bruceâs answerâs straight to the point. Although thereâs a subtle praise in his wording, appreciating how they eased your workload. âItâs despicable just how much they're overworking them hereâ Damian's scowl seems to be permanent as he watches you attend to other tables, he knows itâs your job but theyâre the Waynes they should be the only table you attend to tonight. That good for nothing manager who cares far too much about their opinion canât even get that one thing right. âYou got that right, and with how the nightâs going I bet theyâll only check on us two times, three if weâre luckyâ Timâs voice pissâs Damian off even more, even if it is in agreement. âYou donât actually mean thatâ Dick pipes in,his voice radiating a sense of distress. âOf course I do, look at them. barely keeping it togetherâ Tim points out. Itâs true the tension in your shoulders is evident and your mask is already slipping, the worst part thereâs almost nothing they can do besides tip you. Although even that doesnât feel like enough. The serverâs here tip out not only to the hostesses and busboys but also to the back, additionally you all have to pool your tips and split them evenly amongst the staff. This fact does nothing but motivate the Waynes to get you out of here as soon as possible.
23 minutes tick by, as the Wayne family watches you talk to other customers, complete your side work, and narrowly avoid another scolding from that damn manager. It bothers them that Tim was right, accepting that tonight is just an evening of observing you rather than growing slightly closer. It's moments like these that makes Bruce wish his name wasnât as influential as it is. Thankfully you approach them once again with their meals. Although, the stress on your face is more prominent than earlier, the smile is even more forced, with the way you carry yourself youâre clearly being pushed to the limits. âHere you all goâ even your voice sounds so much more tired, compared to when you were greeting them. At least you got their order right, not that any of them would say anything if you didnât. âAnything else I can grab you?â You ask, so considerate they really should be the ones taking care of you, but all in due time. âI believe weâll be alrightâ Bruce replies, not wanting you to strain yourself even more.
Only approaching them once as they ate, only to ask them if everything was to their liking. They knew it was protocol to ask each table that question, but they still wished youâd approach them, and initiate a conversation about anything but the food. As they ate in silence itâs clear tonight they didnât make as much progress as theyâd like. Maybe Bruce should have kept these outings to himself for a little longer. Or perhaps they should go on a day Jacques is the manager, he tends to be somewhat more lenient. Whatever the case may be this evening has been bittersweet for the entire family, and theyâll plan accordingly for next week to make up for the lost progress. Because thatâs what family does for each other, they go above and beyond.
