You know thinking about it, I can see that, I can really see that. I'm very much in the thought process of Solar’s Sun and Moon while having a familial bond wasn't as strong or close as we see with main dimension we know of Sun and Moon. There could have been strife and blocks tied with stubbornness towards one another with limited changes being the cause. I used to think about how Solar spoke when mentioning how Lunar’s presences impacted his life after being informed of his passing of how long it been he had spoken to someone nice, really hit a dead ringer to me. I mean we all knew how Moon was to Sun in the prime dimension at the start and Solar had mentioned they were in the past, so naturally I assumed that it meant that it was set at a time where Moon wasn't the nicest, yet. It always struck me as Solar, and his Sun might have been way closer to siblings and family than Sun was to Moon, and jealousy was the main contender of the hate Solar faced.
I based it on a lot of what was sprinkled in the show on the main dimension Sun’s perspective and actions. I always thought Solar's Sun and Moon having a slight strain and trying to connect as siblings it might had been a struggle, cause of certain actions still being committed due to them being set in the past. I kept thinking Solar Sun might have been very much like the Sun we know and the loneliness he might have had being a common shared trait between the two, seeing how the Sun we know has mentioned how lonely he was and is on several occasions. Going based on this, I thought in a way Solar might have alleviated the loneliness his Sun might have been going through for a lot longer and became a huge emotional and constant source of connection to his Sun. That bond being the reasoning that Solar's Moon might not had liked him from the very start. Solar had something that he struggled to obtain and that was Suns constant affection and trust as family, from how Sun begged Moon to give Solar his own body despite the odds, to even the second Solar was separated in the simulation we saw how quickly Sun attached to Solar and named him family within seconds, to how protective he got over Solar when Moon threatened, and also explaining the heart ache and pain his Sun suffered at Solar’s code corrosion in the simulation Solar played. Solar was his Suns familial glue of love, connection, friendship, and sibling bond deeply rooted and to lose that was a huge emotional impact to his Sun, that he was willing to do anything to keep Solar alive, while Moon sounded indifferent and not willing to aid till Sun pleaded. It’s what made me feel that was the tip of the iceberg and Solar’s Moon masked it as Solar being a potential threat as an excuse of his yet not known jealousy or he did know and decided to label it differently to not face it for what it truly was. That's what I been so stuck on and latching to that Solar's Moon was just deeply rooted in hatred and jealously that when their Sun passed he just labeled it as his paranoia being correct and lashed out at Solar instantly and pushing his emotional struggle off to the side having his reasoning justified.
Sorry for the long read and word vomit I have been stirring this pot for a long time and the video of Solar watching a simulation of his lost loved ones and what he could have had just solidified a lot more deep rabbit holes in this thought cauldron. I have yet to pin point why Solar had a dislike to having his own room yet, I feel like there's more we have yet to see or hear be revealed. It’s also why I felt that Solar's Sun and Solar bonded so much strongly at first was when Lunar and him entered his mindscape, and it was of a setting of a movie he watched with his Sun when he’d been alive meaning they were really close and he impacted Solar greatly that his own free and safe space was trapped in that one moment of true genuine affection of that day encapsulated forever. okay I have to stop rambling because this might turn into an essay. But I do agree and see what you mean greatly. I'm glad to know I'm not crazy in this thought cauldron or looking to hard at it.
D
Do you think the reason Solar’s Moon never warmed up to him and continued to hate him was because Solar was the embodiment of the code he tried to leave behind to be better for Sun and then ended up being a good person despite being spawned from the killcode, forming a bond with Sun and caring for Sun, which proved that it was never the code itself that was the problem and it was just that Moon refused to change? Do you?

The funny thing about JC defenders is that they always try to argue that JC refusing to cover the Wens and side with WWX was the correct political move. In the short term, perhaps, but in the long term, that was proven wrong in the books themselves.
(It's even funnier thinking that correct political moves exist in a bullshit political system that blatantly serves only the gentry, is held together by hearsay and rumors, and has no actual system of laws that can serve as a basis to accuse, judge, or punish someone.)
So how was JC's refusal to side with WWX and the Wens considered the "correct political move"? Reasons include that the Jiang sect was still recovering from the war, that going against the Jins would result in another war that would end in major losses on the Jiang sect's side, and that the Wens weren't and shouldn't have been a priority for JC at all.
Let's clear a few things up. The Jiang clan was not the only clan recovering, so were the Nies and the Lans. In the aftermath of the war, it's not explicitly stated how well the other sects were doing, so we couldn't really tell if the Jiangs were worse off than the other three. It could be noted, however, that the Jins retained much of their wealth and influence, so much so that Jin Guangyao was able to take the position of Chief Cultivator with little to no opposition. The main point, though, is that at that moment in the aftermath of the war, we could not easily assume the Jiangs were the worst off, as the other three sects also lost many disciples in the war, and we didn't really know how much the other sects recovered.
For the second reason, if a major war somehow did happen again, this time Jiangs vs everyone else, everyone else would lose. WWX's presence single-handedly helped them win the war against the Wens. A war between the Jiangs and the jianghu would be based on numbers, which reflects the war between the Wens and the jianghu. The Wens had more disciples, and no matter how many LWJs or NMJs you got up your sleeve, numbers make a big difference in war. That's why WWX's skills were a critical part in winning: he is a one-man army of thousands. He could easily make up for the gap in numbers. That's why the Jins kept trying to get rid of him—they were nervous about so much power belonging to only one faction: the Jiangs. JGS couldn't exactly claim his desired role as Chief Cultivator if a younger, smarter, and more powerful individual was still around to keep him in check.
Finally, we get to the part of why I'm making this long-ass post on a caffeine-driven rage. See, the point of trying to stop a powerful faction from committing atrocities is to stop them from thinking they can do it whenever they like. The Jins were given a pass to do whatever the hell they wanted to a small, outcasted faction (the Wens), and they proceeded to take that pass as a pass for everything else. Nobody stopped them from torturing the Wens, so what's stopping them from allowing a mass murderer like XY to run wild in an attempt to create their own WWX? Definitely not NMJ, hahaha, because, y'know, the hypocrites in the gentry have already decided that whatever the Jins do is alright so long as it's not their problem. An exterminated clan isn't their priority. So, what was stopping XY from going out and doing it again to SL's sect? Absolutely nothing! Because the Jins could cover it up and no one could say a word despite how suspicious it was, because hey, remember what happened to the last guy that spoke up against the Jins?
Calling out the Jins on their crimes against the Wens, who were elderly and children save for WQ and WN (who JC owed his damn life and core to), would have created a precedent of not allowing massive crimes to slide under the radar. But because the opposite happened, because nobody fucking realized that apathy and selfishness don't fucking help in the long run, two sects were exterminated because JGS and JGY were basically given an "okay, fine, just keep that bullshit away from us". That's not actual justice. That's not "morally grey". Allowing people in power to trample over others just because it doesn't affect you personally is not sustainable, because what happens when it's you they've decided to trample over? Are you going to complain? Are you going to look to others for help, when you personally couldn't be bothered to offer your hand to those who suffered? When the reason the people trampling over you gained that power is because you allowed it?
The unopposed killing of WWX and the Wens led to the political climate that allowed the massacres of two sects because the Jins were trying to protect and satisfy their pet project. It led to the murder of NMJ because JGS/JGY wanted to keep people from checking their power. If JC couldn't find it in his heart to be sympathetic to the Wens, fine, but at the very least, he should have considered the potential harm in rolling over and giving a political faction too much power.

a little strange to get dms from other trans people saying they agree with biden's dumb statemet that he doesnt want minors getting gender-affirming care. if you really think its such an epidemic that 13 year olds are getting their knockers blown off by surgeons every other day, then please point me in the direction of said 13 year olds that are somehow accessing gender-affirming care that literal trans adults can't even access.
like please be fr. we literally have privatized healthcare and insurance where not even people who go through the appropriate avenues can get approved for care they need to stay alive. what makes you think a trans minor is getting phallo or vaginalplasty. feel whatever you want about 13 year olds who want gender-affirming care, but dont parrot transphobic rhetoric that is based on no facts and a moral panic. they second they legitimize barriers to care for trans minors is the second they start finding ways to do the same for trans adults. dont be a buffoon.

Ah, the Addisons. One of them was trying to sell a dress sewed to a mannequin (I think the orange one?) and the other was selling footwear samples. As food. Uh… they’re… not very smart, are they?

I'm trying so hard to stay positive but the amount of hate that Aerith gets on twitter is so disheartening, it's making me genuinely wish I had never gotten back into the fandom after Rebirth released and just quietly enjoyed my food the way I did during Remake. Like why would you even play a game where you hate the deuteragonist so much you're constantly making threads and posts about how she's throwing herself at Cloud and how much of a slut she is for moving on from a past love?
You do not have to ship Cloud and Aerith! The magic of FF7 was always that you could choose your favorites! Platonic Clerith interpretations are like some of the best out there too like it's legit top tier! But straight up denying their connection and, much worse, villanizing Aerith for it is not only disgustingly misogynistic, it just makes me question if that person even likes Final Fantasy in the first place.

I always see people say Demeter in myths was overprotective & a control freak/ helicoper parent.
But if i was surrounded by rap-sts, murderers & men who were violent against women etc i would ALSO be just as protective of my daughter & keep my daughter away from the gods.
Shes not horrible for trying to keep her daughter away from men who would take advantage of her. Like…… a man who kidnapped her in the end…
Its almost as if she was right to do so

Thinking about Steve Harrington's family life, specifically his parents, and as much as I want to know more, I actually find it really cool from a literary standpoint that Steve's parents are so absent from his life, we don't even know their NAMES. We don't know what they even LOOK LIKE. Off the top of my head, I think they've been mentioned a total of like, 4 times, all by Steve himself. That's actually so smart though, I keep thinking about it. We know they travel a lot, their marriage isn't the best given Mrs. Harrington doesn't trust Mr. Harrington to go on business trips by himself, leaving Steve home alone for who knows how long while he's still in highschool. We also know that Mr. Harrington is a "Grade-A a**hole" according to Steve himself, and that he's basically cut him off once he graduated highschool and turned 18. And it. And I really like it. They're so absent the PLOT can't even touch them. I also really like if from a fandom standpoint. As someone who reads fanfic constantly, its very entertaining to see everyone's different takes on his parents. Their names, what they look like, how they actually act as parent, everything. I just think it's fun. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

i think about this all the time but i truly don't understand how people dedicate entire chunks of their lives for things they hate. like no one is forcing you to like anything so why go on and on about why you don't like it. i promise you will feel better if you spend less time actively hating it's quite literally affecting your psyche

I've screamed about this to anyone who will listen, but every single year, without fail, there is a devastating natural disaster in the South that triggers the most callous commentary from so-called liberal and progressive circles and I am so sick of it. Whole towns in Western North Carolina no longer exist. Roads have dropped off into chasms. People do not have power or fresh water. Aid can only be delivered by air. There is no accurate death toll yet because the whole region is inaccessible. Western North Carolina is devastated and it will never look the same. "Why didn't they evacuate?" People couldn't evacuate because they were given a 12 hour notice of how bad the storm was going to be. Where do you go? You can't go west or south. The storm is blowing through there too. You could go north or east, but only if you can afford it. Did y'all know that hotels jack up their prices when there's a hurricane evacuation? That you have to sit in hours of traffic because everyone else who can is doing the same thing? Evacuating, even preparing, is a luxury that not all can afford. Especially not in Appalachia, which continues to be underserved by both Democrat and Republican governments. "They should have been prepared."
Hurricanes are not supposed to blow into Appalachia. This was not supposed to happen. Why would I prepare for a hurricane when I live six hours inland? I'm used to mudslides and snowstorms. But a hurricane? Climate change has exacerbated the severity and frequency of these storms, so what was once considered a once-in-a-lifetime storm is now the terrifying reality in places where this should not occur. I live in central NC where even with the rare category hurricane that we get, we are also not prepared to handle it the same way the coast is. That isn't a failure on the individual-- it's the failure of a bipartisan government that has refused to accommodate for climate change and the threats it poses to everyone. "They voted for Trump." North Carolina is a swing state. We have a Democrat governor and a Republican supermajority in our Congress. It will be one of the most important states in the 2024 election. Of course, I bet the people saying this didn't know or care about the realities of NC politics; they know it's in the South so of course it's Trump country. And don't get me wrong-- western NC is red on a map with the exception of the Asheville. But BIPOC, LGBT+, poor people, otherwise marginalized people, etc., live in every part of the red South. There are states in the South that are predominantly Black. Our states are gerrymandered. Voter suppression still exists. These are the legacies of white supremacy that we are still trying to work through and improve. You're condemning us to suffer for something we didn't choose. We live here too. And honestly? If you believe someone deserves to drown in a flood because of how they voted, I think you are a bad person. We do not share the same progressive values.
I am so tired of seeing the same thing happen over and over again. Regional elitism still exists in this country and y'all still see the South as a malignant growth that should be cut off, that should be abandoned every time a hurricane or tornado or other disaster devastates us. I will never forget how y'all said Texas deserved to freeze over. I will never forget how y'all said North Carolina deserved to drown.

Yennaia Headcanon
A.N. My first Yennaia headcanon :) Had an itch to write something quick after seeing them in 3x8.
--
Locked in an embrace, their foreheads touched, and the only thing heard in Tissaia's office was the fireplace's crackle.
She'd miss this, feeling Yennefer's presence all around her. Feeling the ebb of her chaos from a distance, and its insatiate rumble in those tense moments before they came together.
Yennefer pulled her closer. "Your pain is my pain..." Yennefer's words came softly as she stared over Tissaia's shoulder. She turned her face into Tissaia's snow white hair. "My pain is yours..."
Tissaia's eyes watered, no one had ever cared so much. Her loyal one, that's who Yennefer was. The one who'd never forsake her.
"And I will stand by your side for however long we have." Yennefer paused, her lips brushing Tissaia's ear. "Exsai remanus, volunpathis li--"
Tissaia shoved her way out of Yennefer's grasp with a horrified gaze at the surprise spell. "Stop!"
"--Eterna."
Tissaia grunted at a searing burn etching into her skin, Yennefer didn't flinch, the clench of her jaw the only sign of her discomfort. They both looked to their wrists, to the sigil carved into their flesh.
"What have you done?" Tissaia's frenzied words rushed out.
"Now your death means mine."
Tissaia let out a shaky breath.
"I learned a few things from Ciri. How to mask my telepathy was one."
"Impossible. The girl was barely trained."
Yennefer approached Tissaia but Tissaia grabbed the corner of her desk and hung her head. How didn't she feel Yennefer prodding her mind? After Vilgefortz's betrayal and the battle with the elves, her once level mind was going haywire.
"Ciri has a few clever tricks." Yennefer took Tissaia by the shoulder and pulled the woman's attention to her. They locked gazes.
"How could you be so stupid? This spell cannot be undone." Tissaia said, sorrow slipping into her words as her voice cracked and her tears fell.
"I felt the darkness inside of you. I see it. It's more powerful than ever before." Yennefer pressed her fingers to the medallion on Tissaia's chest. "I saw your thoughts. The darkness is consuming you..."
Tissaia inhaled an unsteady breath and Yennefer pressed a kiss to her hair.
"I need you, now...more than ever."
A knock sounded on the door and it opened shortly after. It was Triss, standing as though the sight of them took the words from her mouth.
Tissaia looked over with a watery gaze and stepped out of Yennefer's grasp. "Yes."
"The service for the novices. It's time."
Tissaia nodded and Triss left.
"...Foolish." Tissaia kept her back turned to Yennefer, looking at the sigil imprinted on her arm. "You've doomed your life to save mine. Why?" Tissaia faced her.
"Because...I love you."
Tissaia felt a shockwave rush her. Her heart pounded from her chest, and she hurried to the door, closing it swiftly, locking it for good measure.
